The Last of Us is quickly rising the ranks to become one of the biggest HBO hits of ALL time, so it’s no wonder that fans are itching to hear about season two.
The post-apocalyptic thriller from Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman (the game’s writers) saw a HUGE 12% bump from episode two to episode three.
6.4 million viewers tuned in to see the love story between Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman unfold, with The Guardian’sAndy Welch declaring it “the single best episode of TV that will be broadcast all year”.
On January 27, the series was officially renewed for a second season — much to the delight of fans, and while we don’t know too much yet about what’s to come, here’s what we do know.

What part of the game will The Last of Us season 2 cover?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first season of the TLOU will cover the entire game.
“As for this show’s ending, expect the debut season to cover the entirety of the Last of Us game,” Mazin told the outlet.
The second iteration is likely to follow the game’s sequel, Part2 — the game which was released seven years after the first.
Who will be cast in The Last of Us season 2
Given the nature of the show, it’s hard to predict who will be cast in the next round, because SPOILER ALERT, our favourite characters keep getting killed off!
However, Pedro Pascal and Game of Thrones alum Bella Ramsey could return as Joel and Bella, respectively.

When will The Last of Us Season 2 be released?

According to expert John Aiken and series executive producers Tara McWilliams and John Walsh, Married at First Sight Australia 2023’sHarrison Boon is by far the most “compelling” Groom the series has ever seen.
While we’ve been triggered, nay, cringed through the single dad’s already rocky relationship with his TV bride Bronte Schofield; apparently, we ain’t seen anything yet.
“Harrison’s journey in the experiment is compelling,” Aiken told Chattr in an interview before the tenth series premiered.
“He jumps out of the screen at you. He’s dealing with all sorts of different issues that he brings into the experiment.
“Particularly how he handles his relationship with Bronte, but also how he works in with the group. And I think that is really fascinating because he is such a strong Alpha energy in that group.”
Expert John Aiken says watching Married at First Sight’s Harrison Boon is “compelling”. Source: Nine.
“He’s the type of person that a lot of women will have known,” McWilliams added. “I don’t think he’s a bad guy. I actually quite liked Harrison.
“I think he is someone who watched back the show and would stand by everything he did.”
While she backed the 32-year-old builder, McWilliams admitted she would never “date a guy” like him before adding that she wasn’t saying “anything” that she “wouldn’t say to his face”.
“Harrison would cop that on the chin,” she said.
Married at First Sight executive producer John Walsh admits that MAFS Harrison Boon is on the “front foot”
Walsh agreed with his colleague’s sentiment, saying that the controversial groom was entirely on the “front foot” during the Married at First Sight experiment.
“The whole series, he never denies anything. He doubles down on it. It takes a lot of air out of it when you own it, admit it, and double down on it.”
“He never denies anything,” executive producer John Walsh said of Harrison. Source: Nine.
According to Walsh, the other participants found it hard to “deal with” because he’s very upfront about his behaviour, which McWilliams called “frustrating” to watch.
“It’s really frustrating to watch, but it’s fascinating to watch,” she said.
While last year, the season primarily focused on Olivia Frazer and Domenica Calarco’s feud, McWilliams admitted that the Grooms were “along for the ride”.
“This year, there’s more balance because there’s a lot of Groom focus in this series. The spotlight is on a lot of our Grooms and how they’re behaving and how they’re reacting, and how they’re conducting themselves as much as the Brides.
“As a woman watching, I found it infuriating, and I found it frustrating,” she said before adding: “We’re seeing how the Brides deal with that, and I’m really trying to champion them.
“As an audience member, you’re championing them to kind of rise above and take their power back.”

On February 1, fans of Gogglebox Australia were delighted with the news that the series was returning for Season 17; however, along with it came a very sad announcement.
Emmie Silbery — the matriarch of the Silbery family — would not be returning to the couch alongside daughter Kerry and granddaughter Isabelle.
At age 94, Emmie had been part of the Gogglebox family since the three women joined the series in 2016, but a dementia diagnosis has meant that she would step down from the role.
Taking to Instagram on February 1, Isabelle and Kerry shared the news with fans.
“We are sad to announce that Emmie won’t be joining us on the couch for @goggleboxau this season,” they said.

“It’s been a very challenging time for our family, and we’ve had to make some difficult decisions. Emmie has been diagnosed with dementia, and we wanted to be transparent about this, as many families experience it. Emmie will be watching & rest assured she’s happy and being cared for 💜”
The same evening, the family’s official Insta account released a Best Bits featuring the very funny and very “sexy” (her words) Emmie throughout the years.
It included her quipping that she’d like to “rub my hands over that lovely head that he’s got”, a montage of her dancing and pointedly asking her emotional family members, “how many tissues have you gone through?”.
The clip ending with a beautiful hug between the beloved couch member and her granddaughter.
On February 3, another Best Bits was shared on the official Gogglebox account.
According to the Mayo Clinic, dementia is not a specific disease but a group of conditions characterised by impairment of at least two brain functions, such as memory loss and judgement.
Symptoms include forgetfulness, limited social skills and impaired thinking abilities that interfere with daily functioning.
Everyone loves a good inspirational sports movie, and Woody Harrelson’s(True Detective) heartwarming Champions delivers just that.
The film’s trailer, released on February 3, tells the story of a temperamental former minor-league basketball coach — Marcus Aldridge (Harrelson) — who, after a series of missteps, is ordered by the court to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities.
The aim is to whip the team into shape to get them to the Special Olympics, and while he thinks it’s a way back to his old life, he soon realises that despite his doubts, this team can go further than they ever imagined.
What can we expect from Champions?
Backed by Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down), there’s even some dirty humour delivered by the films breakout stars, including Marcus telling his new team: “We’re going to do some simple ball handling exercise.”
“My girlfriend loves this,” Matthew Von Der Ahe’s Craig quips. LOL!

From the get-go, Marcus believes it’s “impossible to coach these guys”, with Cheech Marin’s Julio saying that he doesn’t have to turn them “into the [LA] Lakers, you just have to turn them into a team.”
We also meet the group’s only female player Consentino (Madison Tevlin), who asks: “Where did we even get this guy?” and honestly, it’s amazing!
Who is in the cast of Champions?
Alongside Harrelson, the film also features It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Kaitlin Olson as his love interest, Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson, Matt Cook.
Playing with the aforementioned Von Der Ahe’s and Tevlin as their teammates are Joshua Felder, Kevin Iannucci, Ashton Gunning, James Day Keith, Tom Sinclair, Bradley Edens and Alex Hintz.
Champions opens in cinemas around Australia on March 9.
One of our new favourite Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples is about to split — and spoiler alert! It’s not going to be who you think it is!
One of the show’s producers has revealed that fans are about to be shaken by the revelation, seeing as though it happens in an “unexpected and controversial way”.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, director of content at Endemol Shine Australia and former executive producer of MAFS, Tara McWilliams admitted that some relationships start off “really strong”.
Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton are one of the more successful couples so far. Source: Nine.
I think sometimes the distraction of the group can impact the success of a relationship, and we’ve seen it time and time again,” she told the outlet.
“This year, we’ve got some relationships that start off really strong. There’s one in particular that goes from strength to strength, and we’re like, this is an absolute sure thing.”
McWilliams then explained that so many things were “tick, tick, tick”; however, “at the final hurdle, it falls in quite an unexpected and controversial way.” Nooooo!
Which Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples are the strongest?
At the time of publication, Alyssaand Duncan, Cameron and Lyndall, Tahneeand Ollie and Sandyand Dan have all formed instant and strong connections — so it’s anyone’s guess on who it will be.
While she knows that they couldn’t work it out in the end, McWilliams couldn’t quite get her head around the relationship’s demise, saying that she is now trying to think about who “screwed” it up.
“I’m thinking that should have been a really happy, successful relationship, and it probably would have been.

“But I think the impact of the group and expectations that people bring into the experiment that they wouldn’t normally carry outside of the experiment get the better of them. So you just can’t predict it.”

Alec Baldwin has been formally charged with involuntary manslaughter following the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western film Rust.
Baldwin fired a prop gun which accidentally held a live round, killing the 42-year-old.
New Mexico First Judicial District lawyer Mary Carmack-Altwies formally filed charges against the actor on January 30. The on-set armourer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was responsible for the weapon, has also been charged.
Actor Alec Baldwin has been formally charged with involuntary manslaughter following a fatal shooting on the set of the Western film Rust in 2021. Source: El Dorado Pictures.
“On the day of the shooting alone, evidence shows that no less than a dozen acts, or omissions of recklessness, occurred in the short time prior to lunch and the time of the shooting, and this does not include the reckless handling of the firearm by Baldwin,” Gutierrez-Reed wrote in court documents obtained by New Mexico’s KRQE News.
“By act or omission or failure to act in his position as a producer directly contributed and/or failed to mitigate numerous reckless and dangerous actions during a very short time period.”
Assistant director David Halls, who handed the actor the gun, previously accepted a misdemeanour charge in a plea deal.
According to several news sources, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison and a $US5000 ($7250) fine.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed called the Rust film set “fast and loose”
On January 19, Carmack-Altwies announced that she would be seeking charges.
She said it was a “fast and loose film set” and that “nobody was doing their job”, including Baldwin who should have checked to see if the firearm was loaded.
“After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew,” she said.
“On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice”.
The grieving family said in a statement that it was “a comfort that no one is above the law”; however, Baldwin will fight the charges.
What happened on the set of Rust?
On October 21, 2021, the 64-year-old actor was sitting in a pew on the set of a church at a Bonanza Creek ranch, Bonanza City.
He was rehearsing a scene when he reportedly pulled out the weapon and said: “So I guess I’m gonna take this (gun) out, pull it, and go: ‘Bang!’”
A pop sound allegedly went off, before both director Joel Souza and Hutchins realised they were bleeding.
A single bullet hit Hutchins in the chest and Souza in the shoulder.

Baldwin will appear in court within 60 days to see if there is a cause for trial.
Speaking to CNN, Carmack-Altwies said: “Just because it is an accident doesn’t mean that it’s not criminal”.
“Unintentional means they didn’t mean to do it, they didn’t have the intent to kill, but it happened anyway — and it happened because of more than mere negligence, because they didn’t exercise due caution or circumspection, and that’s what happened here.”
“There were three people, that if they had done their job that day, this tragedy wouldn’t have happened — and that’s David Halls and Hannah Gutierrez Reed and Alec Baldwin. If they had just done their basic duties, we wouldn’t be standing here.”
