Despite not being matched together by the ‘experts’ Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis are undoubtedly the most popular couple to come out of this year’s season of Married at First Sight Australia 2023.

After breaking up with their TV partners, the two reality stars dropped a tonne of easter eggs about their budding relationship on social media, before confirming it in an interview in May.

The pair have since admitted that they’ve been together since February; however, in an interview with Chattr before her second outing on Nine’s Getaway, she revealed that she was yet to introduce her new boo to her family.

“I haven’t met the family yet and he hasn’t met my mum and dad yet,” she said.

Evelyn then explained that she places a lot of importance on the approval of her parents.

“He’s excited… But I’m a little bit more nervous about it. I come from a strong Asian background and meeting a significant other and introducing them to the parents is a pretty big thing, approval is a lot.

“Even though if they were like, ‘No [we don’t like him]’. I’d be like, ‘Too bad’. But still, approval in Asian cultures is everything and I kind of take that on myself and assume other parents are like that when they’re not.

“I’m sure everything is going to be wonderful. I just needed a minute for things to calm down a little bit before I do that because there’s just a lot going on.”

Has Evelyn met any of Duncan’s family?

The TV personality hasn’t met her boyfriend’s parents yet, but she has met both of his sisters.

“Last time I saw Renee, I looked at her I’m like, I went ‘Holy sh*t. You’re Duncan with long hair and boobs?'” She laughed. In fact, Renee joined her and Duncan during the July 8 Getaway episode.

“They look exactly the same, I’m telling you. Lauren, his oldest sister is also stunning. The genetics in that family is robbery.”

What is Evelyn doing now?

Shortly after this year’s season of MAFS wrapped, Evelyn announced that she had a new gig as a guest host on the popular travel show.

“I think they maybe thought that Evelyn would be entertaining for a minute or two, and so I jumped on and had lots of fun and hopefully I get to do it again. That’s all you can really ask for in this industry,” she said.
