MAFS’ Jack Millar and Love Island’s Courtney Stubbs got engaged in the most adorable way

Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Jack Millar and Love Island Australia’s Courtney Stubbs have announced that they’ve gotten engaged, and the hidden camera video of it is absolutely adorable.

The couple took to Instagram to share that the proposal happened on January 4, 2026 and posted a hidden camera clip of Jack getting down on one knee.

“Chapter 2: The Moment… 04.01.26,” Courtney captioned the clip.

In it, she can be seen accepting his proposal before kissing and hugging him, as the couple then fell over on the ground together. Jack also arranged a hidden microphone, so his proposal can be heard in the clip.

“Cos I love you so much, and I’ve seen you be the best mum. You’re going to make me cry,” he began.

“Give me your hand. I’ve loved every moment with you in almost four years – not quite – we’ve had two beautiful children, and you’ve become the best mum in the whole wide world I would love to ask you – will you marry me?”

Courtney and Jack began dating in 2022 and have since had two children together: Peneope, 2, and Kobe, who is three months.

MAFS stars react to Courtney and Jack’s engagement

Shortly after the clip was posted, the comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages from the couple’s reality TV friends.

“Love you both. Best news hehe,” MAFS‘ Ella Ding wrote. Al Perkins, from the same season as Ella, commented, “ARE YA KIDDING! Congratulations!!!”

Season 6’s Cam Merchant — who is now legally married to his onscreen wife Jules Robinson and shares two sons with her — wrote: “What a moment. Huge congratulations.”

Courtney’s fellow Love Island Australia alum also shared their well-wishes.

“GET OUTTA HERE!! Congratulations, guys,” Season 2’s Cartier Surjan wrote. “Congrats to both of you,” Josh Moss from Love Island Australia Season 1 commented.

Congrats to the happy couple!

A look into Daisy and Joao’s romance on Below Deck Down Under Season 4

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 may just be the spiciest the show has ever seen, with a boatmance between veterans Daisy Kelliher and Joao Franco teased in the new trailer.

Both Daisy and Joao make the crossover to Captain Jason Chambers’ team for Season 4 of Down Under. Daisy has appeared on four seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht as Chief Stew, while Joao previously served as a deckhand on Below Deck Mediterranean.

And in an epic Below Deck crossover, it appears the two all-stars get together romantically in the upcoming season.

In the trailer, Daisy tells Joao that he is the “kind of person” she’s attracted to, before a montage of clips of them kissing plays out.

One of the cast members can be heard asking if they are “in love”, to which Daisy responds, “she doesn’t know”.

Watch Daisy and Joao’s romantic connection in the teaser trailer below.

What is Captain Jason’s policy on Below Deck romances?

The Below Deck franchise is no stranger to onboard romances — with almost every season flaunting a boatmance. Daisy’s previously been involved with her crewmates, Gary King and Colin Macrae, and Joao had a fling with Tzarina Mace-Ralph and dated Brooke Laughton.

However, now that the two Below Deck all-stars are on Captain Jason’s boat, will he allow a romance that may distract them from their jobs? He told Chattr that in his experience as a captain, it’s impossible to stop crew members from hooking up.

“Let’s just take a normal boat over a period of a year and a half. There’s going to be boatmances,” he said.

Captain Jason Chalmers aboard the Below Deck super yacht.

“[With Below Deck] we’re putting, you know, probably about eight months of work into six weeks. So if it happens, it happens. And you know, these guys are adults, they got to learn to actually have relationships, you know, but also understand the boundaries of it.”

Captain Jason said that he believes there’s certain etiquette his employees should adopt if they’re going to start a relationship on board.

“Keep it to yourself, don’t flaunt in front of the crew. Always do your work. Be on time. Don’t get caught standing around chatting; save it for your off time. Still treat each other as a crew member, but you can have a boatmance outside of that,” he explained.

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 airs on February 2 on Hayu and Binge.

Meet MAFS 2026 bride Julia Vogl, the confidence coach who’s met Kate Winslet and Cher

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 bride Julia Vogl will give the producers a run for their money, as this former journalist and celebrity interviewer knows all the tricks of the trade.

She’s crossed paths with celebrities like Kate Winslet, Matthew McConaughey and Cher, so she won’t be starstruck by the other influencers on MAFS (such as TikTok star Alissa Fay).

The bride is said to be “magnetic” and now works as a confidence coach. Here’s everything we know about the 2026 bride.

What is MAFS 2026 bride Julia Vogl’s job?

Julia used to work as a journalist and entertainment correspondent. She worked as a presenter for Channel 10 across their Wine and Dine advertorial series, and spent two years working as an entertainment reporter for The Project.

She previously worked for NewsCorp, A Current Affair and Beat Magazine.

Since leaving the journalism industry, she has carved out a new niche as a confidence coach. She runs the Talk is Cheap Academy, which helps business owners improve their offerings.

“She helps badass digital business owners make five-figure months without vanity metrics using pop-iconic video content creation,” her bio on LinkedIn reads. “In the last year, Julia has helped some of her clients go viral, make tens of thousands of dollars, attract clients and build self-assurance in the process. Her frameworks and teaching style is unique, strategic and anchored in mindset.”

Additionally, she hosts the YouTube show Talk Is Cheap.

What is Julia Vogl like?

According to Daily Mail, friends of Julia have described her as “magnetic” and “articulate”. She also “has a way of getting people to reveal their deepest secrets without even realising it.”

She’s going to be a good grounding force at the Dinner Parties!

Who is Julia matched with on MAFS 2026?

Julia has been partnered with Grayson McIvor. He owns a recruitment agency in Sydney, so these two can talk business all day (and night) long.

However, it looks like there might be some controversy surrounding Grayson. On an Instagram post about him, former MAFS bride hinted she had some intel. “Sooo many ladies from the GC will be coming forward with stories about Grayson soon lol,” Ellie Dix wrote.

MAFS 2026 premieres on Monday, February 2 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Meet Rebecca Zukowski, the MAFS 2026 bride who’s been dubbed Jamie Marinos 2.0

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 bride Rebecca Zukowski is already being labelled a more mature version of 2025 fan favourite Jamie Marinos.

She has already been dubbed one of the wildest brides in MAFS history, which is quite the feat, considering the dramatic participants that have lit up our screens over the last 12 seasons.

Read on to find out everything we know about Rebecca so far.

Rebecca Zukowski’s wild wedding antics

Rebecca was papped by Daily Mail Australia at her MAFS wedding, and sources who attended the event said that she certainly made an impression.

“She’s wild — think Jamie [Marinos] — just with years of experience,’ the insider close to production said.

“She was overheard yelling on her balcony in between takes — it was a whole moment.”

They added that she appeared visibly upset during the nuptials.

However, drama aside, a friend of Rebecca’s told the publication that she has a huge heart.

“She’s the type of girl who will back you 100 per cent – but don’t cross her, because she’ll call it out without blinking,” they said.

“She’s got this larger-than-life energy and doesn’t tone herself down for anyone. We’re all so excited to see her on screen.”

“She’s a no-nonsense kind of woman. She says what everyone else is too scared to say,” a production insider added. “She’s going to make incredible television.”

Who does Rebecca marry on MAFS?

The paparazzi photos showed Rebecca exchanging vows at her wedding with a man who has now been identified as Steve Powell.

However, unlike some other MAFS contestants (*cough* Alissa Fay *cough*), not much is known about Steve just yet.

But, judging by Rebecca’s adverse reaction at the altar, we have an inkling that they may not be a match made in heaven.

MAFS 2026 premieres on Monday, February 2 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Jessika Power spoils Celebrity SAS for Aussie viewers: ‘What was the point’

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Jessika Power is part of the Aussie contingent for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The show has just started airing overseas, featuring a group of Australian celebrities competing against their UK counterparts. However, Aussie fans now know that Jessika is eliminated after the end of Episode 2, due to multiple social media posts shared by the star.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will air on Channel Seven at some point in 2026, but two episodes have already been shown on UK television.

Jessika shared two carousels on Instagram from her time on the show, with the star looking fierce during filming.

“My face might say one thing… but how I actually felt tells a completely different story. This was rough, rough, ROUGH. I always feared my physical ability would be the thing that stopped me and it never once crossed my mind that my mental history and past experiences would come into play,” she wrote in the caption.

“Watching this back, I realised those situations still have a hold on me in ways I didn’t expect. Growth isn’t always loud guys, sometimes it’s confronting as hell.”

In her second post, it seemed to be a farewell post, and a fan confirmed she quit the show in the comments.

“Okay… I’ve cried on national TV before… this time I just bled, overheated, crawled, killed scorpions and kept going,” Jessika wrote.

“No makeup. No comfort. No one to save me but me (luckily I’ve always only ever had me). But it turns out I’m tougher than I ever gave myself credit for… and yes, that surprised me too.”

While most of the comments were positive, one fan was snarky. “What was the point of going on to quit after [a] couple days?” they asked.

How did Jessika Power quit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins?

After being put through a gruelling challenge, which included copious amounts of burpees, Jessika decided she couldn’t take it any longer.

“I can’t do this, sorry. I’m being serious, I can’t, I can’t do this,” Jessika said, before handing her armband over.

She was the first recruit to leave the course, and the other recruits were told they shouldn’t follow in her footsteps.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will screen on Channel 7 in 2026.

Isabel responds to backlash after Love Island stint: ‘Don’t really give a f**k’

Isabel Vella’s Love Island Australia dumping was one of the most explosive moments of the season, considering she was in a steady couple with her now boyfriend, Connor Deighton. Her choice to refuse an exit interview — which was subsequently aired at the end of the episode — raised eyebrows from fans, and she’s received a frosty reception online ever since.

Now, Isabel has taken to Instagram to respond to the backlash she’s received, saying she doesn’t want to talk about her final days in the villa because she “legally” can’t, and said it would just open up the door for more criticism.

“Whenever someone tries to tell their side of the story, people attack them for trying to ‘justify’ themselves,” she wrote in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Instagram. “In real life, I would never try to convince someone to like me, and the last thing I want is for people to think that’s the case.”

Isabel says the online trolling she’s received has affected her

Isabel added that while she’s considered spreading awareness about the “bad edit” she received, she is still personally affected by the hate that’s flooded her inbox and comments section since her time on the show.

“I honestly am still in my healing journey and too tender and tired to open myself up to the opinions of people who write hate comments to people they’ve never met! At the end of the day, people either like me, or they don’t, they see through the bullshit, or they are producer puppets and believe everything with no understanding about TV logistics.”

The Love Island Australia star added that she won’t lower herself to indulging online trolls with a reply.

“Negative people will bring you to their level. Haters want to hate, no matter what, who, when, or why, they will find a way. Like one thing to tolerate hate, hate on what I’m wearing, hate on how I look, hate on what I said, but hating on something that isn’t the truth/full story is what killed me. Especially when we’ve come so far as women to set boundaries and then were victimised again. And some of the comments are from women. It’s obviously very hurtful to see these comments made about me, and I’m just wanting to scream from the rooftops, ‘If only you knew.'”

Isabel concluded by saying that she’s trying to have thicker skin and remind herself that the opinions of strangers shouldn’t matter to her.

“At the end of the day I needed to learn that I don’t really give a f**k what they think of me, I know who I am always have, the people who were there know what happened, my friends, family and clients know who I am, and my supporters who are following my journey can obviously see straight through the bulls**t cause that’s why they’re here!”

“I’ll be moving on, focusing on the positives and all the amazing things, opportunities and most importantly, people who I left this experience with.”

Isabel claims she received a bad edit on Love Island Australia

During her AMA, Isabel was asked how producers manipulate the Islanders on Love Island Australia.

She included a screenshot of herself on the show, and wrote: ‘Not [producers] accidentally using this clip of me “smirking” when the boys were fighting TWICE in the same convo. Half of the reactions you see aren’t us reacting to what was said! This shows it’s not all you see and that’s as much as I’ll say.”

Towards the beginning of Love Island Australia, Isabel was involved in a feud with bombshells Mia and Boston, which resulted in multiple viewers labelling her a “mean girl” on social media.

At the time, Isabel took to TikTok on her business account to claim that she was getting a bad edit.

“It’s really not that deep, the edit was f**ked and upset me but I’m not gonna sit here and justify myself, we know what happened as we were there and that’s all – be kind out there y’all,” she wrote.

Love Island’s Lacey reveals if she’s dating Mateo post-villa

Love Island Australia 2025’s Lacey Butlin was eliminated early on in the season in a shock dumping shortly after Mateo Francisco entered the villa.

However, the unlikely duo have since struck up a connection, posting multiple videos together that strongly hint that they’re a couple.

On Sunday, January 4, Lacey shared a video of her and Mateo grinding on each other and captioned it “He’s the calm, I’m the chaos”.

@laceyyybutlin For reallll 😭 @Mateo #fyp #loveisland ♬ original sound – @Finest Music

She followed it up with another video a day later of the two dancing and captioned it “Me & U”.

@laceyyybutlin Love my good friend 🤍 @Mateo #loveisland #fyp ♬ original sound – http.jxson

Fans jumped into the comments, unsurprisingly speculating about a potential relationship between the two former Islanders, so we went straight to the source and asked Lacey herself.

“Mateo and I are just friends…. For now,” she told Chattr.

Fans weigh in on a relationship between Mateo and Lacey

Mateo and Lacey were only in the Love Island Australia villa for a short time, and she was involved with Kye while Mateo was exploring a relationship with Tamara.

Neither connection worked out, but it meant that despite briefly coupling up, they never really had the chance to see whether there was something between them during the show.

But, since their possible soft launch on TikTok, fans have flocked to Lacey’s comment section shipping her and Mateo as a couple.

“I hope they’re together,” one person wrote, with another commenting: “I think you look so good together.”

“I think there’s some chemistry in the air,” a third user wrote, with another one speculating that the two reality stars are “hitting for sure”.

Home and Away’s Jacqui Purvis opens up about working with her boyfriend JK Kazzi

Home and Away’s Jacqui Purvis is about to step into one of her biggest roles yet, when she takes to the stage for her first professional theatre show with Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the production sees her starring opposite her real-life boyfriend JK Kazzi. It’s raw, emotional and intimate, with just the two actors on stage for an hour and 15 minutes.

Jacqui and JK met on Home and Away, while Jacqui was playing beloved character Felicity Newman and JK was guest-starring as David ‘Dingo’ Lewis. Their friendship blossomed into something more, and they’ve been together ever since.

The decision to work together wasn’t a hard one, and while Jacqui tells Chattr it is a job, and you can separate it from the personal side, there’s an element of trust that shines through onto the stage. “You know the person so well that it’s just trust, you trust each other, and you can be so honest with each other, there’s no kind of grey area,” she explains.

“I’ve never worked with someone I’ve been in a relationship with, and so it is new for me, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. It’s a whole other thing, and I think it’s going to make the play even more interesting, even deeper, even more alive and electric.”

She says that more people should try working with their significant other, because they’ve “loved” the experience. “There’s just that shorthand where you just get each other, you understand it. And you don’t need to say too much,” Jacqui adds.

Home and Away's Jacqui Purvis and boyfriend JK Kazzi with John Patrick Shanley.
Jacqui and JK with John Patrick Shanley.

How different is Jacqui’s new role from Home and Away?

Jacqui admits that her play is “completely different” from her experience working on Home and Away, because the audience’s attention will be focused solely on her and JK.

“I’m so used to that beautiful big ensemble at Home and Away and having so many voices, whereas here it’s literally just JK and I, and it’s so intimate,” Jacqui reveals.

“There’s no way out for us and it’s live, so it’s a massive challenge. But that’s why I wanted to do it, because it is so different from Home and Away.”

Theatre was how Jacqui fell in love with acting, and while she obviously loves working in film and TV, she says it’s almost like returning to her roots.

“It kind of feels almost like going home a little bit, back to when I was a little girl,” she says. “I’m sure I will love it and probably want to do it again [in the future].”

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea is playing at The Old Fitz Theatre in Melbourne from January 13 to February 1. You can purchase tickets here.

MAFS 2026 bride reveals how much contestants got paid this year: ‘A lot less’

Considering Married At First Sight (MAFS) is one of Channel Nine’s biggest reality TV shows, you’d think the brides and grooms would be paid a big appearance fee.

The contestants have to commit to months of filming in Sydney, and for many it means taking time off work. Ankita Karungalekar was part of MAFS 2026, but her journey came to an end abruptly after allegations about her husband Micah Lomu surfaced on TikTok.

She tells Chattr contestants on MAFS 2026 are paid weekly rather than daily, and it’s not much at all. “They pay you per week. So it’s $1000 per week. Obviously that’s a lot less than what we usually earn during our nine to five jobs, or whatever you know, that we do on the side,” Ankita spills.

“And then you get, I think, a grocery list as well, [about] $300 or something like that.”

Contestants are also asked to provide their own outfits for the Dinner Parties, but are given strict rules to adhere to by production when it comes to styles and colours.

“When they told me that it’s not up to [me], it’s up to production, what they choose and what sort of colours we require on the screen, that’s when I got a little bit like, okay, then, I mean, are you gonna pay for it?” Ankita recalls.

“Because it’s like, per outfit, [I spent] $600 [or] $500.”

Did the MAFS cast reach out to Ankita after she was removed?

Ankita was abruptly removed from the experiment alongside Micah right before the first Dinner Party, so she didn’t get to say goodbye to any of her fellow cast members.

“I think everyone reached out to me after, I’m still in touch with all the cast,” Ankita recalls. “I think one thing that everyone was sort of coming together for was it’s unfair to kick me out of the show, even though there was things to do with Micah.”

The bride says the general sentiment about the situation was that it was “unfair”, because MAFS has rematched people on previous seasons.

She doesn’t see herself going back on MAFS for a future season, but admits her tune could change in the future. “There’s a lot of baggage that came with it… just disregarding someone right after they got to know that we were kicked out, the producers didn’t speak with me or anyone,” Ankita says.

“I don’t see myself doing that again, but that’s right now in this moment… it might change later.”

MAFS 2026 premieres on Monday, February 2 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

A Love Island movie is in the works and we have all the details

Love Island is one of the most popular reality TV formats in Australia and overseas, but would you watch a movie version? According to Deadline, ITV America is looking into the possibility of turning Love Island into a fictional story for the silver screen.

CEO of ITV America, David George, told the publication he has been discussing what to do with the Love Island IP, especially after it became a breakout hit in the USA.

“Why are we not taking Love Island and figuring out how we’re going to translate that into the movie world?” he said. “There may be something going there. I can’t even begin to tell you what it is, but there are those types of conversations.

“We are open to expanding the possibilities of what that brand is.”

There have been the odd reality TV shows turned into movies in the past, but it’s a rare occurrence. The most popular series that became a box office success was Jackass, leading to multiple sequels and Johnny Knoxville’s continued career.

MTV also turned the observational reality TV show The Real World into a fictionalised satirical feature film, called The Real World Movie: The Lost Season. It focused on an obsessed fan who kidnaps The Real World reality TV cast and threatens them with explosives.

Love Island Australia… the movie?!

Fans react to Love Island movie idea

It looks like most fans can’t figure out what a Love Island feature film looks like, and the majority of people aren’t on board.

“Who asked for this?” one person questioned on social media.

“Look, I love the show. But a movie???! Hard pass,” another added.

“Asked all of my friends, none of them wanted this,” a third chimed in.

“We’ve gone too far, nuke the earth immediately,” another wrote.

On the flip side, there were a few fans who had some creative ideas for what a Love Island movie could look like.

“I frowned at first, but then I thought of a psychological thriller with them on an island, thinking it’s a reality show, but then the challenges start, and the couples start getting picked off if they fail,” a fan suggested.

“This needs to be Surf’s Up but a rom-com. Like it needs to be simultaneously completely serious and entirely unserious. That’s the only angle that’ll work,” another added.

“Look, a rom-com about two people falling in love on a dating reality show could be very fun. Just get the right creative team,” a third said.

Four Love Island Australia faves rumoured to be joining All Stars 2026

Love Island All Stars 2026 is about to hit our screens, and rumours are circulating that four iconic Australian Islanders will be joining the villa as bombshells.

While the first two seasons of the hugely popular Love Island UK spin-off haven’t featured an Australian yet, the show’s boss, Mike Spencer-Hayter, hinted to The Sun that the upcoming instalment will include some international additions.

“I’m going to say some things should be kept secret, but you can imagine that we have a very exciting pool of bombshells.

“And they might have different postcodes. Or Zip codes.”

Mike went on to reference the most recent Love Island UK winner, Toni Laites, who is from the US, and Australian Jessie Wynter, who met her now-fiance, Will Young, in the 2023 season.

“Toni and Cach proved that love does not have a postcode, and that is brilliant for us,” he said. “Will and Jessie, too, congrats to them on their recent engagement.”

Furthermore, a Love Island fan TikTok account has reported that four Aussies will be joining the All Stars cast as bombshells.

Which Australian Islanders are rumoured to be joining Love Island All Stars 2026?

Gabby McCarthy

Gabby on Love Island Australia

Gabby McCarthy, who brought main character vibes to the most recent season of Love Island Australia, is set to join the upcoming All Stars at the South African villa.

In a recent interview with Chattr, she told us that she’d be keen to take part in another season of Love Island.

“I would definitely go back and do it all again,” she said.

Callum Hole

Callum Hole joining Love Island All Stars

Callum Hole is quite the reality TV veteran. He originally appeared in Love Island Australia 2022, where he placed runner-up. He then went on to take part in Love Island Games, and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Australia 2024, and have been a cast member of Aussie Shore.

The fan account claimed that Callum would be returning to the Love Island franchise in 2026, with a 2024 interview with Chattr adding fuel to the fire. Callum told us he’d be keen for All Stars “if everything fits into the schedule.”

“I got a very busy year,” he added. “I have locked in seven shows next year now, so if I do have the time, and the opportunity pops up, then, potentially.”

Tina Provis

Tina in the villa

Like Callum, Tina Provis has a substantial amount of reality TV shows on her resume — winning Love Island Season 3 before returning for Season 4, and later appearing on the US spin-off Love Island Games.

She also competed on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2025, so another stint on reality TV wouldn’t be much of a stretch.

Zac Nunns

Australian Zac on Love Island

Zac Nunns found love with Lucinda Strafford on Love Island Australia in 2023, but the couple went through a very messy breakup shortly after filming wrapped. So, there’s no doubt that Zac could bring the drama to All Stars!

Love Island All Stars Season 3 premieres on January 12.

MasterChef’s Declan and Sarah are engaged and their new family photos are adorable

Congratulations are in order, because it looks like MasterChef Australia couple Declan Cleary and Sarah Todd are engaged! Declan let the secret slip during an Instagram Story shared in early January, when he called Sarah his fiancé[e].

“Ribs are ready, my two daughters are asleep. Happy fiancé[e], happy Sol, happy Tuesday,” he wrote, over a video of him preparing food while Sarah set the table.

While the pair haven’t shared an official engagement announcement, Sarah was previously spotted wearing a ring on her pinky finger when she travelled around France with Declan. It’s a big rock, so fans started speculating that Declan popped the question.

Sarah wore the ring on her pinky finger for a long time, but in her recent posts and videos, she’s slyly moved this ring to sit on her engagement finger.

In a recent video Sarah shared on Instagram, she was seen wearing no jewellery on her fingers except for the large ring on her engagement finger.

While demonstrating how to create a flaky Onion Paratha, fans were interested in both the delicious recipe… and the shiny rock.

“Did we miss the engagement announcement?” one fan asked.

“Congratulations! Where is your engagement ring from?” another chimed in.

“When are you getting married?” a third asked.

MasterChef’s Sarah and Declan share new photos of their babies

Sarah and Declan also sent fans into a frenzy after sharing a carousel of new photos from the festive period.

“Christmas this year looked a little different and one we’ll never forget. Taking down the tree today, 12 days after Christmas and feeling all the feels,” Sarah wrote in the caption.

The comment section was flooded with well-wishes from friends and family, but it was Declan’s comments that had us melting.

“What a beautiful carousel of pictures that speak a thousand words. Love you lots babe,” Declan gushed.

Sarah said she loved him and all their “beautiful moments together”. She also confirmed that the twins are identical girls, which is so adorable!

We can’t wait for the MasterChef wedding.

Love Island’s Gabby tried to get a breast reduction when she was younger: ‘Uncomfortable in my skin’

Love Island Australia star Gabby McCarthy has revealed that she tried to get a breast reduction when she was younger, and responded to trolls who have body shamed her online.

Gabby took to Instagram during an AMA and answered a fan who asked her how she felt about comments on her social media suggesting that she should get a “breast reduction”.

“This triggers me SOOOOOO much. Any body comments trigger me so much,” she wrote.

“I tried to get a boob reduction from the ages 14-16 [because] I was so uncomfortable in my skin, constantly treated differently, sl*t shamed and always laughed at school for developing younger than everyone.”

Gabby explained that she struggled with an eating disorder in her teens because of her body image issues, but said that therapy helped her reach a place of self-acceptance and confidence.

“I was so sick growing up (mentally and physically). Please, please, please think before you ask / comment on my body. I’ve gone through a lot of therapy and worked on myself for years to finally get to a point where I absolutely LOVE my body and am confident in my own skin. So no, I won’t be changing my natural body.”

Love Island's Gabby's story about wanting a breast reduction.

What Gabby learnt about herself on Love Island Australia

In a post-villa interview, Gabby told Chattr that her Love Island Australia experience was a huge learning curve.

“I think spending so much time with yourself and your thoughts and your emotions, my feelings, was like, wow. I have a lot to work on. Like, I have a lot of underlying things from my past or my childhood,” she said.

“I think I’ve really become a lot more self-aware since the experience, and obviously, like, I came out with so many best friends. I’m just so grateful and appreciative for all of it,” she added.

Gabby won over fans with her refreshingly honest approach and straight-talking attitude, making her a great option if Australia were to ever have an All-Stars season. So, would she consider making a return to the Love Island villa?

“I would definitely go back and do it all again,” she said.

Fingers crossed!

OG MasterChef judges Matt, Gary and George are in talks to join I’m a Celebrity 2026

Reality TV fans will already know that one of the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2026 cast clues teased a MasterChef connection. However, that familiar face might not be a former contestant at all, but instead three of the show’s ex-judges: Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris.

An insider told New Idea the trio of celebrity chefs were invited onto the show as a way to rebuild their relationship with Network Ten, as they all left MasterChef Australia in 2019 when they failed to reach contract negotiations.

“It’s been positioned as a reset,” the source said. “A chance to reintroduce themselves to audiences in a new light and reconnect with the network.”

The insider stated that the jungle invitation was well received by Matt, Gary, and George.

“There’s genuine interest but also a lot to weigh up. It’s a very exposing show, and they’re all at different stages of life and career.”

They added that one of the former judges accepted the offer, but — ahead of the premiere — Network 10 is doing all they can to keep their identity under wraps as they don’t want to spook the current MasterChef Australia judges.

“They don’t want it to look like a stunt or a takeover bid,” a source said. “This is about rebuilding relationships, not rewriting history.”

Fans react to Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan’s potential return to reality TV

The idea of the former trio of MasterChef Australia judges appearing on I’m a Celebrity Australia 2026 has been met with mixed reactions from fans.

“I reckon we all got excited before feeling the disappointment. Hopefully this will serve as a prelude before stepping back into MCAU (although I do love the current set of judges),” one person wrote on Reddit.

Another was vocal about wanting them back on the MasterChef Australia judging panel.

“Wish they’d come back to MCAU, I might even watch it again then,” another person wrote.

However, others weren’t as enthusiastic.

“Nope, no thx,” a Redditor wrote, with another perusing: “that won’t end well for them.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia 2026 premieres on January 18, 2026.

Love Island stars Jessie and Farmer Will have gotten engaged: ‘So incredibly happy’

Love Island Australia star Jessie Wynter has gotten engaged to Will Young, who she met when she returned for a UK season of the show in 2023.

The couple shared the exciting news on January 4th in a joint Instagram post, revealing that Will got down on one knee in early December.

“On the 9th of December, I asked Jessie to marry me. Since then, we’ve been celebrating with each other and Jessie’s family, just us, with no outside noise, exactly how we wanted it,” Will began in the announcement post.

“We wanted to soak up this moment together and be fully present before sharing it with the world. We still feel like we’re living in a dream. I can’t believe we’re engaged. My heart has never felt so full of love.”

The Love Island alum — who’s affectionately known as Farmer Will by fans — explained that he’d been planning the proposal for a year.

“Jessie deserves the world, and I can’t wait to spend my life giving it to her. Since we met on Love Island three years ago, I’ve been the happiest boy in the world. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted Jessie to be my fiancée. I just knew it had to be perfect.”

How did Farmer Will propose to Love Island’s Jessie?

Jessie is from Tasmania and made her Love Island Australia Season 2, which aired in 2019. She returned for Love Island UK, which was filmed in late 2022, where she and Farmer Will met.

After leaving the show together, Jessie relocated to the UK and lived on his family’s 700-acre farm near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire; however, they’ve done multiple trips to Australia over the past few years.

Farmer Will popped the question to his now-fiancée in her home state of Tasmania.

“I took Jessie to the east coast of Tasmania and asked her to marry me. I searched everywhere for the right place. I know how much she loves the ocean and the mountains, and there’s nowhere she loves more than home. Every time we come to Tasmania, Jessie takes me to her favourite views and just sits and admires how beautiful Tasmania is, so when I found this spot, I knew it was the one,” he explained in the Instagram post.

Farmer Will added that he and Jessie are “so incredibly happy” and thanked her for making him “the happiest man alive.”

Congrats to the adorable couple!

Rumour has it Bachelor star set to join The Block 2026: ‘Terrible and undeserving’

We’ve yet to meet the cast of The Block 2026, but a rumour spread on social media claims former The Bachelor star Bec Cvilikas will be renovating a house alongside her fiancé Kody Griggs. After the reality contestant posted a video of her recently built home, a friend asked if she’d be joining The Block. “Maybe?! Thanks chicky,” Bec replied, and the whisper has since grown.

Fans on Reddit are furious, with the general consensus being that viewers want the show to stick to regular everyday Aussies, rather than digging into the pool of past reality TV contestants. Seeing as how much press the show got from having MAFS’ Dave Hand appearing on The Block 2025, it’s obvious why casting producers could be tempted to pick semi-famous stars.

One fan claimed the show is chasing drama, saying Aussie shows are following in America’s footsteps. “That’s starting to sound like all the American versions of these shows. Fill the contestants with reality TV people and that’s what they spend all their time banging on about. This is all for drama. Check out the different versions of The Traitors if you don’t know what I mean,” they wrote.

“Oh no! Don’t know of her but don’t want someone like that as a contestant. Give us normal everyday people please,” another added.

“How about some older contestants or Aussie battlers? That would be way more interesting to watch,” a third said.

“Sounds terrible and undeserving,” another chimed in.

The Block has been a MAFS collab for the last three or four seasons. They probably don’t feel the need to disguise that fact any more. Soon The Block will become a MAFS graduation ceremony. If couples stay together for 12 months, they become contestants on The Block,” a fan theorised.

The Bachelor star Bec Cvilikas
Bec Cvilikas. Image: Instagram

Who is Bec Cvilikas?

Bec Cvilikas starred on The Bachelor Australia in 2020 as an intruder for Locky Gilbert. She made it to the top four, but was dumped in favour of runner-up Bella Varelis and winner Irena Srbinovska.

She has continued growing her presence in the public eye, with almost 20,000 followers on TikTok and over 33,000 followers on Instagram.

She is represented by talent agency The Talent Society, and has worked with brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Lee Denim and GHD.

Bec recently built a home with her partner Kody, and has been documenting her interior design journey on Instagram. Sounds like she’s preparing for The Block, but we’ll have to wait and see if the influencer is included in the cast announcement.

Bride kicked off MAFS 2026 suffered huge losses: ‘Hurt me a fair bit’

For sports presenter Ankita Karungalekar, Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 was supposed to be a dream. She took time away from her cricket presenting career, spent over $6000 of her own money, and “sacrificed” a great deal in her South Asian community and with her family to be on the show. After being married to her new husband, Micah Lomu, for a week, the groom was hit by allegations from TikToker Monica (@mondrof), which led to the pair being kicked off the show.

For Ankita, she expected to be paired with a backup groom (like Eliot Donovan and Lauren Hall), but once the couple was cut from the show on the day of the first Dinner Party, the rest of the cast were told never to mention Ankita and Micah again.

“When we got kicked out, Micah and I were [adamant] that I should be rematched. And I did speak to producers about it,” Ankita tells Chattr. “I deserve an opportunity to come back on the show because I have nothing to do with his past… especially being the only diverse girl on the show.”

Ankita wonders if her cultural background had any influence on the decision to avoid rematching her, asking an important question: what’s the difference between her, Eliot and Jessika Power? “I felt like I was the easy target to get rid of on the show, because there’s not much backup. Because I think at the end of the day, I feel like there was a bit of racial grief here,” she claims. “I think if I [were] in their shoes, I wouldn’t take out the only [woman of colour] on the show.”

The former MAFS bride also felt a sense of loss, because she had given up so much to be on the show. It was difficult to convince her parents to get on board with her decision. “The shame that comes along with it in the South Asian community… as someone who’s not from this country or even the Western side of the world, it’s not easy for me to convince my community and my parents, and I did sacrifice that at first, the relationship that I have with them,” Ankita says.

“When the news broke about me getting kicked out of the show, I actually didn’t have anyone to go back to, because my parents were just already pissed.”

The most hurtful part for the sports presenter was that it wasn’t actually her fault, yet she was somehow being punished.

MAFS’ Ankita Karungalekar reveals financial losses

In addition to all the emotional turmoil, MAFS bride Ankita turned down work as a cricket presenter for four months and sunk lots of money into Dinner Party outfits, which she didn’t get to wear.

“Summer of Cricket was approaching, and I did have a couple of things going on for myself, but I gave up those things because I had to commit full time [for] four months to MAFS,” Ankita recalls. “When that didn’t work out… I did a couple of gigs, though, not as much as what I usually do. That did hurt me a fair bit.”

MAFS pays contestants weekly, and since Ankita was kicked off early, she says she only received one week of pay. “I was out of work after that for [about] a month… no pay for that. I didn’t get paid for anything at all, no compensation, no sort of apology or anything as such. The outfits, the money that I spent,” she claims.

“I think I invested around $6000 to $10,000 with this whole process,” she adds. “The food, the investment [in] clothing, just the suitcases, and you know… the work that I lost. It wasn’t really like a hole in my pocket, but I did feel it’s unfair.”

It’s unlikely we’re going to see Ankita on our screens when MAFS premieres in February, but it will be interesting to see what other info drops. According to the star, she’s still in touch with the other cast members and “everyone reached out” to her when she was removed.

MAFS 2026 premieres on Monday, February 2 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
