Courtney and Sev entered The Block 2026 with one main goal: win the opening room reveal so they could secure House 4. As some teams were drawn to the elevated homes and their sweeping water views, the Brisbane best friends were more interested in what House 4 could become.
After studying the plans, Courtney and Sev believed the property offered the potential to add another level and create a rooftop terrace, effectively giving their house the views and wow factor it otherwise lacked. Courtney was so convinced that she declared: “We don’t want House 4. We need House 4.”
After winning the first room reveals (and the second), the team got their wish by landing House 4, but did they get their rooftop terrace?
A leaked satellite view of The Block’s finished houses from August 1 has allegedly proven that Courtney and Sev’s rooftop terrace never eventuated. In a post in a The Block Facebook group, one fan wrote that: “Finished houses are in… and it doesn’t look like those rooftop terrace plans the girls had for House 4 have quite materialised… lack of money perhaps,” the post theorised.
“Bet they’re regretting their decision to swap from House 3.”
In the image, none of the houses appear to have any sort of rooftop terrace built. “[It was] probably rejected due to the placement of solar panels,” added one comment. “Their rooftop would of had to be up to specs to support and hold all the panels.”
Another agreed that all the houses all embracing solar panelling would have thrown a spanner in the works. “Probably got vetoed due to the solar panels. They all look uniform in their placement,” shared another.
Of course, this rather vague and grainy image is hardly enough to tell fans how The Block’s auctions will go. “I suppose we’ll find out more in coming weeks how they really look like,” posted another comment. Stay tuned, folks!
Why did Courtney and Sev want House 4?
It wasn’t just the idea of a rooftop terrace that sold Courtney and Sev on House 4. The Brisbane besties had several reasons for being determined to secure House 4 on The Block 2026.
Although Houses 1 to 3 all sat higher and had uninterrupted water views, the pair felt House 4 offered more practical advantages for buyers. The property had around 50 square metres more floor space, a significantly larger backyard and direct beach access — all features they believed would matter more for everyday living than simply having the best view of the ocean.
They also disliked the way the pools and outdoor areas of the above houses were more exposed while House 4 offered greater privacy. Sev said the pair prioritised a floor plan that “made sense” and felt the advantages outweighed the superior views of their competitors.
Most importantly, they spotted the potential to build upwards. Their plan for an additional level and rooftop terrace could give House 4 its own impressive water views while retaining its larger backyard, privacy and beach access — potentially giving them the best of both worlds at auction.
The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
