After a dramatic auction day that saw all five The Block 2026 homes sell, Courtney and Sev emerged as the biggest winners of the season, walking away with a staggering $1.87 million profit.

The pair’s Mount Eliza property was snapped up by local buyer Kevin Unali for $4.72 million, making them the most successful contestants in The Block history.

While the auction result left fans stunned, many were left wondering who the mystery bidder was — and whether Courtney and Sev had any connection to him before he placed the winning bid.

Did Courtney and Sev know their buyer before the auction?

Speaking to WHO, Courtney and Sev revealed that they did not know Kevin before he purchased their renovated home.

However, the pair said they quickly formed a close bond with the buyer and his partner after discovering how much they loved the house and appreciated the work that went into creating it.

“Their biggest message to us was, you know, you guys poured your heart and souls into it. You played a really hard competition, and that’s what we loved about you guys,” Courtney and Sev said.

Kevin reportedly plans to use the property as a weekender and second home for his extended family, explaining that he was determined to secure the house during the auction.

Courtney and Sev’s surprise invite to their winning bidder

Despite only meeting after the auction, Courtney and Sev revealed their new friendship with the buyers has already grown — so much so that they invited Kevin and his partner to watch the finale episode with them.

“We’ve actually been really lucky to host them for the last two nights. They came in and watched it with us… which was really special,” they told WHO.

The couple also revealed Kevin has promised to let them return to the property in the future.

“I think we’ll have a lifelong connection with them because they are an owner-occupier and we have, you know, aggressively invited ourselves to big, like, slumber parties in households,” they joked.
