After 12 gruelling weeks of renovations and non-stop drama, best friends Courtney and Sev won The Block 2026, walking away with a record-breaking $1.87 million in cash and prizes.
The Queensland duo truly dominated the competition with six room-reveal wins, despite becoming embroiled in controversy over alleged rule-breaking and a wine cellar discount.
However, their hard work and gamble on House 4 paid off spectacularly during the November 1 finale, when their Mount Eliza property sold for a whopping $4.72 million, smashing its $3.45 million reserve. The result earned them $1.27 million in auction profit, plus the $100,000 winner’s bonus and Scotty’s $500,000 prize pool.
In an exclusive interview with Chattr, the duo revealed which of the teams were most excited about their win. “They were all so excited. Everyone was just in awe. They could not believe what just happened,” Sev said.
“Chantel and Wyatt were obviously [excited],” Courtney said. “Chantel’s our biggest hype girl,” added Sev. “She had some tears, and I think she felt a great sense of relief because her agent obviously consulted with her and said, ‘I want to swap positions with the girls’ and she would have had to absorb that information that morning as well.”
Courtney and Sev spoke about Rick giving them a big hug, confirming they also felt a lot of love from Adam and Jolene too.
“Adam and all of them, they were just unreal — it was a beautiful moment. I think I was crying in Jolene’s arm for a good three minutes, hyperventilating and someone had to pull me off her, so I was like, ‘Okay, on to the next person that I can cry into’,” Sev joked.
“It was a beautiful, it was a beautiful environment. There was nothing tense going on. We were just genuinely all ecstatic for each other.”
The women didn’t mention Lisa or Rosco when asked who seemed most excited for them, but Sev did insist that there was no tension with Lisa on auction day — despite weeks of online comments being thrown by both sides.

“We were all just in a really good place. We were in Shelley’s company, the mood was good, we were all feeling really upbeat,” Sev recalled. “There was nothing that was coming off anyone in a negative context. We were all just one happy family again for the first time in a long time. It felt really, really nice in that room. Everyone hugged each other; there was nothing that felt fake.”
Courtney and Sev reveal which teams came to their The Block finale watch party
For Sunday night’s finale, Courtney and Sev held a watch party for their loved ones — and two other The Block teams came along.
The first were Chantel and Wyatt, who live nearby the Brisbane besties. “They were here last night watching it with us here last night. And we invited the Cursio Bros — it was just a big family. Their agents were with us, and our agents,” Sev said.
One other team rounded up the group. “Rick and Taylor were here, and all their family,” Courtney added.
This left two teams absent: Lisa and Rosco, along with Jolene and Adam.
“Our house couldn’t fit that many bodies, so they’re like, ‘We’ll go watch it next door.’ But yeah, if we could have had the seats, we would have been like a massive, massive theater,” Courtney said.
“We just wanted to celebrate together and piled in a lot of people.”
