As The Block hurtles towards its highly anticipated Auction Day, the experts are making their final predictions — and while there’s one house earning plenty of praise, not everyone agrees on who will take home the win.
From The Block’s Marty Fox to Dan Reilly and Dani Wales, those in the know are weighing in on which team is most likely to kill it at the auctions.
Let’s see if you agree with their predictions…
Experts reveal who will win The Block
The Block judge Marty Fox believes Adam and Jolene’s House 1 is currently the strongest contender, praising the home’s practical layout and buyer appeal.
“If I had to nominate one at this stage, I’d lean towards Adam and Jolene’s,” Marty told TV WEEK. “Their kitchen is a major selling point, and its connection to the living and dining spaces gives buyers a compelling picture of everyday life in the home.”
The real estate expert said their kitchen stands out as one of the home’s biggest selling points, particularly because it flows seamlessly into the living and dining areas to create an inviting family space.
Marty explained that, from a buyer’s perspective, it’s not flashy features alone that sell a home.
Instead, he said the most successful properties combine a practical floor plan, consistent styling, quality finishes and functional spaces buyers can genuinely imagine themselves living in.

“The strongest homes give buyers a clear reason to choose them: a workable floor plan, a consistent design direction, quality finishes and spaces they can imagine using every day,” he said. “My view is that buyers want luxury they can actually live in.
“Storage, privacy, natural light and the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces all matter. A memorable feature can attract attention, but the whole home needs to justify the price. And even an exceptional home needs competitive buyers and a realistic reserve.”
While standout design elements can grab attention, Marty believes the entire home needs to justify its multimillion-dollar price tag, with competitive bidding and realistic reserves also key to Auction Day success.
However, Marty isn’t the only expert weighing in before the auctions.
In Nine’s final Dan vs Dani review of the season, the renovation duo also revealed which home impressed them the most — and they landed on a different favourite altogether.
Dani crowned House 4 her “Champ” of the season, saying its overall design would resonate with a wide range of buyers.
“A lot of spaces in there are really, really well put together. Overall it’s going to connect with a lot of buyers,” she said.
The pair were also united on their least favourite property, naming House 5 as their “Chump” of the season.
Dan admitted it was the home he connected with the least throughout the competition, saying it would be the last property he’d consider purchasing, while Dani agreed she also wouldn’t strategically buy the house.
“It’s just a house I don’t really connect with whatsoever, I think I’ve given them the most Chump’s this season, and it’s probably the last house I would buy,” Dan said.
Dani agreed and admitted House 5 was the same for her too, for a lot of the same reasons.
“Strategically, I just wouldn’t be buying that house,” she said.
Even the experts can’t agree
Although Marty and Dan and Dani have different opinions on which property deserves top honours, one thing is clear — Auction Day remains impossible to predict.
Marty also told TV WEEK that while contestants’ personalities and storylines can help buyers feel emotionally connected to a property, they’re unlikely to be the deciding factor once bidding begins.
Instead, he believes the homes that perform best will ultimately be the ones that deliver on both lifestyle and practicality when buyers walk through the front door.
“The show creates an emotional connection, so a contestant’s story can influence which home someone notices or feels drawn to initially,” he told TV Week. “How much that affects bidding depends on the buyer and their reason for purchasing.
“Someone buying a family home is likely to focus heavily on how it suits their life. Someone buying for promotional purposes may place more value on its profile. Either way, contestants give themselves the best chance by creating a property that stands up on its own merits.”
With every home sharing the same $3.45 million reserve and price guides sitting between $3.6 million and $3.9 million, all eyes are now on Auction Day to find out which expert got it right.
The Block airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
