Alex Nation has spilled on the best part of being a Traitor, as her fierce strategising continues to unfold on the third season of The Traitors Australia.
The former Bachelor star is one of three Traitors, alongside MasterChef’s Alvin Quah and AFL star Kirby Bentley, who was selected to be a Traitor in the new season, giving her the unenviable role of gradually murdering Faithfuls while concealing her true identity.
Alex’s Traitor status has already gotten her into some risky situations, including a bombshell manoeuvre from Faithful AJ Antonios that ultimately prompted her to eliminate Alvin, one of her own, in order to remain undetected. While the high-pressure role might be off-putting for some, Alex has revealed that there are fun moments that come with being a Traitor.

“The best part of being a Traitor was conclave,” Alex said in a recent social media clip — in reference to the private nightly meetings where the trio of Traitors would plot which Faithful to murder. “When the three of us could get together and just be ourselves,” she added.
Those secret meetings were especially fun, Alex revealed, because they allowed the Traitors to let their guards down without needing to masquerade as a Faithful. “Throughout the day we are trying to conceal our identity at all costs, but when the three of us could get together in conclave, we just had so much fun. We had so many laughs,” Alex said.
The reality star added that the conclave left the Traitors in “literal tears of laughter” because it was “freeing” to “breathe for a minute”, but said not all of those antics made it to screen.
The ‘devious’ Traitor moments that never made the final edit
“Our conclave conversations go for a really long time. There’s so much strategy and game chat that we film and go through that you guys haven’t been able to see, which we loved. We loved nutting out what our next moves were. That was really really fun, and it was just so devious and cheeky,” Alex said.
Alex’s investment in the Traitor life makes sense, since she went on to reveal that it was the role she was gunning for all throughout The Traitors’ audition process. “I wanted to be a Traitor from the very jump,” she said on her Instagram Stories. “I was hell-bent on wanting to be a Traitor. I did not want to be a Faithful. I would’ve been disappointed if I was a Faithful.”
It’s a job Alex doesn’t take lightly, with the sometimes brutal demands of being a Traitor coming to the forefront when she voted to boot Alvin from the mansion. Speaking on the fallout of that decision, Alex said her and Alvin are on good terms despite the shock move. “We have a lot of love and respect for each other. We talk pretty regularly,” Alex revealed.
For his part, Alvin agreed in an exclusive interview with Chattr that there’s no bad blood between his fellow Traitor, saying he “was hurt” by Alex’s move but admitting “it all makes sense because there’s all this strategic gameplay happening around me.”
Alvin was the latest player evicted from The Traitors mansion, but with Alex now in a compromised position over the AJ ultimatum, he might soon be joined by his former ally. But at least they’ll always have the conclave!
