The Block 2026 executive producer Julian Cress has hit back at the “ridiculous” stories that continue to swirl around the renovation series, including the latest rumour that longtime host Scott Cam has been ousted from the series.

Speaking to TV Tonight, Scott claimed that a significant portion of the coverage surrounding the series is fabricated.

“Half of the stories that are published about The Block are made up,” he told the publication, pointing to speculation that real estate agent and The Block judge Marty Fox could eventually replace Scott Cam as host of the renovation juggernaut.

“Stories are about how Marty Fox is going to take over are also just ridiculous. That’s not going to happen,” he said.

“Scott Cam’s very happy doing the show. He loves it, and everybody loves him doing it.”

Feud rumours recently kicked off after an insider pointed out to Woman’s Day that Scott follows two of the three judges from The Block, but not Marty.

“Scotty isn’t fake,” the source told Woman’s Day. “If he doesn’t like you, he doesn’t like you and he isn’t going to pretend to just for kicks.”

The insider seemed to confirm the executive producer’s notion that feud or no feud, Scott Cam isn’t going anywhere!

“Scotty will absolutely be professional… He’s been around long enough to know the difference between being friendly and actually being friends,” the insider claimed.

“They can absolutely work together, but being mates is a whole other story. There’s a difference between sharing a judging panel and sharing a group chat.”

Is Scott Cam feuding with Shaynna Blaze?

And that’s not the only feud rumour following the longtime host! Jonathan also made a point of dispelling the rampant rumour that Scott is at odds with The Block judge Shaynna Blaze.

“You know, stories about how Scott Cam is having a big blue with Shaynna Blaze, and the two of them are at each other’s throats… he’s going to resign or she’s going to resign. Just ridiculous,” he said

“They’re great friends and always have been.”

While the EP isn’t exactly thrilled about inaccurate stories being published about the show, he admitted there is one major upside: people are still interested enough in The Block to click on them.

“I think I’m happy that people think that it’s worth making up a story because there are obviously so many people who are interested in reading stories about The Block that it’s worth making up a story,” he told TV Tonight.

“So, from that point of view, if The Block clearly is still clickbait, and we’re 22 series in, I can only be happy about that.”

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
