A huge feud is brewing on The Block and this time, it’s not between the teams

Scott Cam and Marty Fox feud on The Block 2026

Scott Cam and Marty Fox may play very different roles on The Block, but they are both firmly part of the show’s DNA. But do they actually get along?

Scotty has hosted the renovation juggernaut for more than two decades, overseeing The Block’s contestants, setting challenges and stepping in when drama erupts on site. Meanwhile, Marty joined the judging panel of The Block in 2023, bringing his experience as a high-end real estate agent and founder of Whitefox to assess how contestants’ designs will translate to buyers.

On camera, Scott and Marty appear perfectly professional, but there is now speculation that their working relationship is far from a friendship behind the scenes. A recent report claimed there is underlying tension between the pair — sparking questions about whether the two actually get along once the cameras stop rolling.

According to Woman’s Day, Scotty doesn’t follow Marty on social media — despite following the other judges. This is said to hold a larger meaning than simply Scotty forgetting to follow Marty. “Scotty isn’t fake,” a source told Woman’s Day. “If he doesn’t like you, he doesn’t like you and he isn’t going to pretend to just for kicks.” Ooft!

Scotty choosing to not follow Marty — a public gesture — apparently speaks volumes. “The fact he hasn’t followed Marty back is further proof he isn’t Marty’s biggest fan and he obviously doesn’t want to be mates,” the source added.

“Scotty’s not the kind of bloke who’s going to put on a friendship for the cameras. He’s pretty straight down the line. If he genuinely gets along with someone, you’ll know about it. And if he doesn’t, he’s not going to suddenly start calling them his mate just because they work together.”

But never fear The Block fans, Scott won’t let his feelings for Marty affect their dynamic on the show.

“Scotty will absolutely be professional… He’s been around long enough to know the difference between being friendly and actually being friends,” the insider claimed.

“They can absolutely work together, but being mates is a whole other story. There’s a difference between sharing a judging panel and sharing a group chat.”

Marty Fox slams Scotty Cam’s criticism style on The Block

During the 2025 season, Marty spoke to Shelley Craft on The Block Podcast, and he didn’t mince his words when discussing Scotty’s ‘harsh’ communication style while defending his own reputation.

“I do feel for the contestants because in the delivery from Scotty, I think it would come across so harsh, but then I think when they’re sitting at home watching it, they might see that my tone always has a very deliberate angle,” he said.

This comment was noteworthy because Scott is the person who reads the judges’ comments back to contestants at Block HQ, meaning Marty was suggesting Scott’s brutal wording was partly responsible for his reputation as the show’s toughest judge. Ouch!

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
