With the Traitors walking freely among the Faithfuls on The Traitors Australia 2026, keeping their identities under wraps is crucial to their success. But with differing filming schedules and sleeping arrangements to contend with, there could be plenty of opportunities for the Faithfuls to accidentally clock who the Traitors are when the cameras stop rolling.
In fact, Kirby’s secret was almost blown before the game had even properly begun, when Kween Kong claimed they heard Gretel Killeen tap Kirby Bentley on the shoulder when she was selected as a Traitor. So, how does production make sure something like that doesn’t happen behind the scenes? Apparently, they go to some pretty wild lengths. Unlike other shows, where contestants bunk together, all 20 contestants who made it past the welcome ceremony (sorry, Cam Merchant), got to enjoy their own bedroom, for this exact reason.
“We don’t have to share rooms,” eliminated Faithful Claudia Bonifazio told Chattr in an exclusive interview. “It’s very secretive. We all get our own rooms. Everything’s blacked out. You don’t see anything. You don’t hear anything.”
Claudia pointed out that the separation means that the Faithfuls can’t get any extra information about the Traitors when it comes to the filming schedule, like when they have to film in the conclave or when they head off on ‘murdering’ missions.
“We all leave [our rooms] at different times. It’s very, very, very secretive. There’s no way to know, and you get moved [to a different room] a lot. You get moved randomly, so you sometimes have to bring your luggage, and you don’t even know where you’re going, and you’ll go to a different spot.”
She added that there’s “no way at all” to get extra hints about who the Traitors actually are behind the scenes.

Claudia reveals how long The Traitors’ Round Table ceremonies actually go for
Claudia spilled some more behind-the-scenes goss in our interview, revealing that viewers only see a fraction of what actually happens at the Round Table ceremonies.
“They all go for so long. You genuinely see like 2% of it. It goes for hours, and there are so many arguments, so many different conversations going on. It’s very hard to get a word in, but it’s very intense,” she explained.
“We’re there shaking the whole time because you’re so nervous. You don’t know when someone’s going to jump on you for a random reason, and then everyone jumps on you. It genuinely feels like you’re at a table and a gun is rolling around your table.”
Claudia added that a lot was cut from the edit of the Round Table where she was eliminated.
“I had to defend myself. I had to go through every reason I was a Faithful, and it still did not clock in anyone’s head. They knew what they were going to do before they came into the Round Table. Let’s just say that.”
The Traitors airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
