Claudia and Luke packham on the traitors

Claudia Bonifazio was blindsided and banished in Episode 8 of The Traitors Australia after her closest allies, Josh and Luke Packham, turned on her at the Round Table and wrongly accused her of being a Traitor.

During the explosive session, Luke called Claudia “cunning” and “conniving” and accused her of wanting to take him to the end to “stab me in the back.”

However, Claudia has revealed that it was even wilder in person, sharing that much of the explosive Round Table was cut from the final edit. She told Chattr in an exclusive interview that the entire cast piled on her and Luke’s speech accusing her of being a Traitor went on far longer than viewers saw.

“You saw 5% of it,” she said. “I had to defend myself. I had to go through every reason I was a Faithful, and it still did not clock in anyone’s head. They knew what they were going to do before they came into the Round Table. Let’s just say that.”

The Love Island Australia star added that it wasn’t just the Round Table that she was banished from, which went on for a long time.

“They all go for so long. You genuinely see like 2% of it. It goes for hours, and there are so many arguments, so many different conversations going on. It’s very hard to get a word in, but it’s very intense,” she explained.

“We’re there shaking the whole time because you’re so nervous. You don’t know when someone’s going to jump on you for a random reason, and then everyone jumps on you. It genuinely feels like you’re at a table and a gun is rolling around your table.”

Claudia reveals the unaired moment Luke became convinced she was a Traitor

Luke had a few (wrong) theories about why Claudia was a Traitor, including her defence of Alex, who was a Traitor, and her repeated success at claiming shields.

And, Claudia told Chattr that after her banishment, Luke took her aside and explained how he arrived at that outcome.

“Well, you don’t see, when we go to bed, Luke said that night he was up all night, he literally said he had a breakdown, and he thought that his closest friend, [Claudia] had betrayed him the whole time, so he didn’t sleep.

“He said he was writing stuff down, working it out, like those CIA people who do that stuff on the board. That’s what he was doing all night. So I didn’t even get to see that. But he explained that to me, and I’m like, that is wild.”

The Traitors airs Tuesday and Wednesday on Channel 10 and 10Play.
