Chantel and Wyatt have developed a reputation on The Block 2026 for doing things very differently from their fellow contestants — both on and off the building site.
Despite other teams regularly finding themselves working right up until tools down, Chantel and Wyatt have repeatedly been ahead of schedule. During Guest Suite Week, they had essentially finished by Saturday evening, while several of their competitors were still scrambling to get their rooms completed.
Their ability to finish early has become a running storyline this season and prompted some suspicion from rival teams, including allegations surrounding how quickly their waterproofing was completed.
In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Courtney and Sev defended the team’s speed. “I believe they just had everything mapped out. Wyatt would always go work ahead,” Courtney said. “He was just a bit of a weapon and a gun.”
Sev added they also had a skilled team behind them. “They had a really strong build team. Like they had builders, whereas some of us had carpenters… they were just quick. As I said, I just want to know what the secret sauce is. They were just so impressive week on and week out, and they were able to go and do their gym thing. I wish we could go to the gym.”

The team’s obsession with the gym over spending time with their teammates has become a recurring issue. Chantel and Wyatt have increasingly separated themselves from the rest of the cast, rather than embracing the communal side of The Block’s unusual sharehouse setup. On Sunday, they chose not to join the other contestants at the pub.
However, Courtney shared there’s more to the story. “They don’t drink, and Wyatt can’t drink because of his type 1 diabetes,” she said. “If he doesn’t go to the gym, his diabetes does play up. He’s found a way for his body to play ball with him with the illness that he suffers from — that doesn’t get shown too often.”
Tayla told Chattr that while this is true, she would have liked them to stop by the pub on occasion. “They don’t drink, so that’s fine. And you go to the pub to usually just have a drink, but still come just for a minute and then do your thing. But that was just normal — that was them.”
Sev said Chantel and Wyatt not attending these sorts of social outings did create ‘distance’ between them and the other teams. “It had an impact because we’re all in this really unique experience… it was just going to have a nice little reset. That was our way of resetting, but that didn’t necessarily mean that was their way of resetting. But what can you do? You can’t force their hand, and that’s their prerogative,” she said.
“We were sad that they weren’t there and we couldn’t get to know them more. But that’s again their decision,” Courtney added.
Rick told Chattr exclusively that despite all the chaos that surrounded the team, he enjoyed their company… when they were around. “It’s a shame they didn’t spend more time in the house rather than going to the gym every night,” Rick added.
“Chantel and Wyatt, they are actually really nice people. We got on so well with them… it’s just a shame they didn’t spend more time interacting with us all.”
