Lisa and Rosco have revealed that they discovered Lisa was pregnant while filming The Block 2026. The WA couple are expecting their second child, a sibling for two-year-old son Lando, in October — right before The Block auctions.

Lisa told New Idea that she began feeling nauseous a few weeks into filming, but put it down to the stress of The Block rather than suspecting she was pregnant.

“Pregnancy didn’t cross my mind,” she told the publication. “I thought, ‘I’m not pregnant, am I?’ And then I just kind of forgot about it.”

Then, two weeks later, a stomach bug was passed around The Block share house, and Lisa went to the doctor for some medicine.

“The doctor told me I needed antibiotics and some steroids. Then he said, ‘There’s no chance you’re pregnant, are you?’” Lisa explained before taking a pregnancy test, which turned out to be positive.

Lisa told host Scott Cam straight away, and she said he — along with the rest of The Block crew — were very supportive.

“I walked right up to him one day and said, ‘Hey Scotty, guess what? I’m eating for two!’” she said.

“We’ve got an extra teammate now,” Rosco added.

In an exclusive interview with Chattr at The Block launch in August, Lisa said that dealing with the bathroom smells while pregnant was a struggle.

“Obviously, being pregnant, the smells are enhanced,” she said. “There was someone in the house who didn’t believe in toilet sprays, or any of those things and the whole top level would literally stink, I could have died.”

How Lisa’s pregnancy affected their time on The Block

Lisa and Rosco told New Idea that the pregnancy didn’t slow them down on The Block, revealing that, if anything, it motivated them to work even harder.

“[It] just made everything feel more real and meaningful”, Rosco said. “We’re mainly doing The Block to challenge ourselves – but also for our kids.”

Lisa added that they were so busy renovating that worrying about her symptoms generally fell to the wayside.

“It was just like, ‘oh, we’re pregnant, OK cool, what room are we doing this week?’” she said.

“The poor child, we didn’t really think about them as much because we were flat out into the renos,” Rosco added.

The couple finished renovating when Lisa was around 20 weeks pregnant, and said that’s when the reality kicked in that they had a second child on the way.

“Literally, Lisa got off the plane from The Block, and it was right there!” Rosco said of her baby bump.

Lisa added: “I had a job to do on The Block, and we wanted to give it our all. I knew that as long as our baby was happy and safe in there, their time would come – and it definitely has!”

Lisa and Rosco’s pregnancy timeline is similar to The Block 2025’s Ben and Emma’s

If Lisa and Rosco’s pregnancy announcement is giving you deja vu, it’s probably because Ben and Emma announced their pregnancy on The Block 2025, too.

Partway through filming, Ben and Emma revealed to their castmates that she was pregnant, and the couple welcomed adorable baby Bailey Coulter Cox right before the auctions.

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Emma admitted that she found out she was pregnant before she started on The Block, but waited until after the 12-week mark — when filming was well and truly underway — to tell producers.

“I had a feeling I was pregnant, and we did the test literally the same morning that we got the call from Scotty to tell us that we were on The Block, and I was like, ‘Oh God, then what are we gonna do? Like, should we just go with the flow?’ And we did. We were just like, well, if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. So we literally just went with the flow. It was very exciting. It was a big day,” Emma said.

Bailey attended the auctions when he was just one month old, and was even in the results room with Scotty Cam, and his mum and dad.

Unfortunately for Ben and Emma, the auction didn’t end well, with their house being passed in, and failing to sell over reserve at a later date, meaning they didn’t win any money from the show.

The Block 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
