The Block fans are already turning on one early favourite: ‘Serious attitude’

The Block 2026 viewers react to Tayla and Rick

Tayla came under fire on Wednesday night’s episode of The Block 2026, with Foreman Dan growing increasingly frustrated with the Melbourne PT’s work ethic — or umm, lack thereof.

Dan was left reeling over Tayla’s lack of effort as her dad Rick struggled to keep their family bathroom on track.

With Rick handling most of the building workload himself, the pressure was beginning to show. Meanwhile, Tayla was far less concerned about their looming deadline, spending time at the beach and leaning into her self-described role as the pair’s comic relief rather than getting stuck into the actual renovation. Yikes.

Dan certainly wasn’t laughing. After watching Rick become increasingly stressed, he suggested House Five was essentially operating as a one-man team. “House Five’s team consists of only one person. I’ll let the audience decide who that is,” Dan said.

Despite Rick racing against the clock and trying to complete the work in time, Tayla’s relaxed attitude was starting to attract attention for all the wrong reasons in an already chaotic bathroom week.

The bubbly PT was initially embraced by The Block viewers, but off the back of her dwindling work ethic, some fans are turning on her.

The Block viewers react to Tayla

On a Reddit thread about Wednesday night’s episode, viewers largely agreed that Tayla wasn’t pulling her weight on her team.

“I actually didn’t mind Taylor at all at the start. But this constant fluffing about and not just knuckling down and working while her dad carries all the load – mental and physical – is really starting to piss me off. She needs a serious attitude adjustment,” said one viewer.

Another said Rick was having to do rush jobs on site because of Tayla’s refusal to help. “No wonder why Rick is cutting corners, Tayla is pretty useless,” a commenter claimed.

Overall, viewers aren’t thrilled with this father-daughter dynamic. “Surprised Rick doesn’t lose his temper and rein Tayla in to help him. He’s looking stressed and tired,” read a comment.

“If he hasn’t disciplined her in thirty-two years, I doubt he’s about to start. He’ll cave at the first sign of waterworks,” added another.

Wyatt and Chantel spill on ‘spicy’ Tayla on The Block

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Wyatt and Chantel shared their unfiltered thoughts on Tayla, who called them out last week when they were caught using a tradie to help paint.

“I think from that moment I knew Tayla was going to be a little bit spicy,” Chantel told Chattr.

The teams went as far as to accuse Tayla of “conspiring behind our backs” when she and Lisa organised not one but two Body Corps. “I was taken aback because they kind of barked at us, they went hard at us, and we kind of just lost it,” Chantel said.

Wyatt believes Lisa and Tayla had ulterior motives. “I think because they were so far from finished,” Wyatt said. “They were probably a bit jealous of the progress we were making.”

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
