The Block 2026‘s Chantel has clapped back at co-star Lisa after she claimed that their tilers, the legendary Cursio Brothers, project managed their entire build and were the reason that they completed their house.
The Cursio Brothers are Block veterans who’ve been working on the show since 2019 and are highly in demand by contestants. This season, they decided to pick a house, and whichever contestant got that house, they’d work with.
It turned out to be Chantel and Wyatt who scored both House Two and the Cursios, which Lisa and Rosco believe is a “massive advantage”, adding that the brothers did a whole lot more than just tiling.
“I think it’s safe to say if House Two didn’t have the Cursios, they probably wouldn’t have finished a room a lot of the time because they left early all the time,” Lisa told Chattr in an exclusive interview.
“I’m not just talking about bathrooms,” she continued. “We’re talking about every week, the Cursios would be on site, delivering their kitchen table with their truck that they have, or their living room table, dining room table, you know, a massive advantage. Whereas the rest of us have to get couriers out and pay $300 in courier fees.”
“They literally project-managed House Two the whole way, all the way through to their landscaping. So they had a massive advantage.”
Chantel shuts down Lisa’s project management claim and calls her out
Chantel refuted Lisa’s claims, saying the reason she and Wyatt have managed to deliver their rooms on time, and even get ahead of the other teams, is down to hard work and strong teamwork.
“That is a load of bulls**t. The project management was done solely by Wyatt and I,” Chantel told Chattr in an exclusive interview.
“All of the prior steps needed before waterproofing need to be completed and managed by the contestants. That would include insulation, a lighting plan, heights of vanities and lights, and orchestrating your trades to install frames and plasterers to gyprock the walls. I have six years of on-site experience, on the tools full time and managing trades. I know a thing or two.”
“I have a small team of three children at home that I manage. Wyatt has exceptional time management skills and the discipline to keep moving when he doesn’t want to. We are a great team. From what I saw, Lisa was napping most of the time and couldn’t make a decision to save her life, which is why they couldn’t complete the rooms.”
Chantel went on to point out that while the Cursios were on site for a lot of the season, they weren’t always there to help House Two.
“When the Cursios were not with us on bathroom weeks, they were working on the exteriors, hired by Nine in Six to complete the stone cladding for the Block houses. They were on-site full-time, as they were not working solely for us.”
She added that while the Cursios were certainly a great addition to their team, they put in the hard yards to prep the room for them to work on, suggesting that Lisa and Rosco were behind before they even got to the waterproofing or tiling stages.
“The Cursios are absolutely weapons because their waterproofing and tiling is the best you can get; you will never have a problem, and they are fast. But guess what, in the episodes you can see Lisa and Rosco struggling to even get their gyprock on the walls?”
The Block airs Sunday – Thursday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
