Rush 2023 Recap Episode Eight: A Rush Roulette task decides who’s going home

It’s episode eight of Rush Australia 2023 and this time the four remaining contestants – CK, Sofia, Adam and Hamish – were dropped in Kenya, East Africa.

When the competitors were alerted that they could remove their blackout goggles and noise-cancelling headphones, they discovered that were smack bang in the middle of a traditional Kenyan dance called the Adumu, otherwise known as the jumping dance.

After celebrating with the locals, the contestants followed the guidance of their first clue: to head towards a big “lone Acacia Tree”.

The Mission

Upon arrival at the Acacia Tree, they discovered host David Genat, who briefed them on their latest mission.

“Here in Kenya you must buy a gift for the Massai people, the gift will be a goat. Leaving your safari vehicle behind you will need to organise transport for yourself and your goat and take it to the village,” he explained.

“Once your gift is accepted, you will need to take part in a traditional Massai custom…I hope you have a strong stomach.

“Second Mission, find the village and assist the Maasai people with building their traditional hut, then you’ll have to make your way to the Escape Zone.”

CK and Sofia both managed to secure a goat relatively easily, but Team Scarlet – which consists of Adam and Hamish – fell behind

After the goat was gifted to the locals, it was revealed that the contestants had to drink the blood of a goat. Ugh.

Instead of being, well, disgusted about drinking goat’s blood, CK was more turned off by the thought of sharing utensils with the tribe.

“I don’t love that we’re sharing the bowl,” he said.

While Sofia was initially shocked about being asked to drink goat’s blood, she quickly gulped it down and said she “loved it”.

Adam and Hamish eventually managed to present their gift of a goat to the Maasai people and Hamish struggled with the task because he is a vegetarian. Regardless, he drank the goat’s blood and Adam did too.

At the second task, Sofia and CK managed to keep their lead and Team Scarlett continued to trail behind.

The Escape Zone

Unsurprisingly, Adam and Hamish were the last team to make it to the Escape Zone, which meant that one of them would be sent home. David informed them that the choice would be made through a game of Rush roulette which involved a red and green smoke flare; whoever picked the red would be eliminated.

Unfortunately for Adam, he picked the red flare and was eliminated from Rush.

Rush continues on July 30 at 7:00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Interview: Hunted’s Ben & Callum say Kellie’s brother had “no remorse” about catching them

Hunted Australia 2023’s gamer duo, Ben and Callum, were captured after Hunter Kellie Andrew’s brother Matt coincidentally stumbled across them at a train station and invited them back to his house.

Despite believing that they’d built a friendship with the welcoming stranger, Ben and Callum were set up by Matt and it wasn’t long before the Hunters arrived to capture them.

Ben at the train station with Matt behind. Hunted.

Looking back at the disappointing situation, the Fugitives said there was never a point where it appeared as though Matt felt remorseful for single-handedly ruining their time on the run.

“He never showed any signs of feeling guilty. He had multiple opportunities to tell us and give us a headstart,” Ben told Chattr after their elimination.

“I think he took it from the lens that he’s helping his sister out because he definitely tried to make it as easy to capture us as humanly possible. I mean, you saw we got put to work for some drinks!”

Ben and Callum working. Hunted.

The chances of stumbling across a Hunter’s sibling – and being invited back to their house – are extremely low, but the duo just believe it was a case of bad luck.

“It was disappointing. But there’s no way that you could ever plan for this one. We were actually blown away. I was laughing at how silly it was when I found out,” Callum said.

“Absolute credit to him, he took us completely by surprise. I think it’s one of those things where I will be maybe a little bit more sceptical about strangers,” Ben added.

Did anything about Matt raise Ben and Callum’s suspicions?

The IT pro and nurse duo said that looking back there were a few suspicious moves by Matt, but at the time they thought their chances of being handed into the Hunters were zero to none.

“When we think about it now, he did leave the room a few times. While we were cutting wood he left for a little bit. But that said, it was grabbing another barrel for us to fill with firewood,” Ben said.

“If we look at it from a suspicious lens, they were probably our signs, but I think the thing was always, ‘This guy can’t turn us in. There’s just no means of him doing that. So we’re safe. We’re good.’

“It was just one of those things we couldn’t account for it and could not have been prepared for.”

Matt on the phone to Kellie. Hunted.

Would Ben and Callum return to Hunted next season?

There’s no debating that Ben and Callum entered Hunted prepared – even in the first episode they managed to get under the Hunter’s skin with their hacking skills. So, to be eliminated over something that was simply a coincidence begs the question of whether the men would want to return for round two.

“If we got given the opportunity I’d like another crack because we had a lot more to give,” Callum said.

Ben agreed, saying that he still wanted to get one up on the Hunters.

“I’m still team Fugitive. I think if the opportunity arises, I’ll do it again. Consider this the beta test, right?” he added.

10 fugitives remain on the run as Hunted continues Tuesday night at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.

“Which star is Daddy dancing with?”: Winner Phil Burton’s son’s hilarious reaction to his DWTS role

Phil Burton may be a global pop star and, now, a Dancing With the Stars Australia 2023 champion, but in his son’s eye, he’s still just a regular dad.

Off the back of his DWTS win, the Human Nature singer caught up with Chattr and spilled about his time on this show and what his kids think of his fame.

Burton said that while his daughter Willow is used to her dad being recognised, his son Xavier doesn’t exactly consider him a celebrity.

“My daughter has actually said to me that she’s been asked at school, ‘What it’s like to have a dad that’s famous?’ And her response to them is, ‘Well, I could ask you what it’s like to have a dad that’s not’. Because for her, that’s just the way it is,” he explained.

Phil Burton. Instagram.

He continued: “[However], my nine-year-old son – he hates me telling this story, he reckons it embarrasses him – but it’s more embarrassing to me, we kept the secret of me doing Dancing with the Stars away from our kids for a few weeks. And then when we told them, my nine-year-old son said, ‘Oh, that’s awesome. Which star is Daddy dancing with?'”

“He thought I was the pro dancer and someone else was going to be the star,” he laughed. “That’s pulling your feet right back down to earth that one.”

Phil’s kids watched the Dancing With The Stars finale with him

Despite Xavier not fully grasping how popular Human Nature was back in the day, Burton said that both his kids were over the moon when he beat Emma Weir in the DWTS Grand Final due to the fan vote.

“They love coming to shows and they love seeing me sing on stage. They’re really proud of me. Last night, my daughter actually filmed the result on her phone, and when they announced it, both of them were jumping up and down. It was really, really cool. So they’re really excited for me. It’s beautiful.”

Record-breaking comedy-drama series Bump has begun filming season four

Australian comedy-drama TV series Bump is officially returning for season four, with Stan confirming that the show is currently in production.

The Silver Logie nominated series was a huge hit domestically and broke streaming records on Stan upon its premiere in 2021. It also struck deals internationally with the CW Network (US), BBC (UK), ProSieben (Germany) and CBC (Canada).

The streaming giant has now revealed that the popular original series has already begun filming and will see many of the show’s regulars return for the fourth instalment.

Bump season two. Stan.

Who’s in it?

Returning for another season of Stan Original’s Bump are popular cast members Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr, and the entire Chalmers-Davis family, including Logie and AACTA Award-winning actress Claudia Karvan (Spirited) and Christian Byers (Year Of).

Also making a comeback are fan favourites Loane Sa’ula (Preppers), Safia Arain (The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race), Paula Garcia (Thirteen Lives), and Claudia De Giusti.

Season four will also welcome a fresh and exciting cast, including award-winning stand-up comedian Steph Tisdell (Class of 07) and Australian of the Year 2022 and Paralympian Dylan Alcott AO.

Bump. Stan.

What is season four of Bump about?

The upcoming season picks up two years from the season three finale. Now, as fully grown adults, Oly and Santi are navigating the challenges of stabilizing their small family unit with their excitable seven-year-old, Jacinda.

Meanwhile, Vince, Talia, and Ariel have found their own rhythm with their toddler Malik. However, the situation becomes a bit more complex with the involvement of Reema as somewhat of a step-mom figure, especially since she isn’t interested in having kids of her own. At the same time, Reema and Vince consider whether their relationship can work.

Oly’s first real job thrusts her into a steep learning curve as she deals with her demanding boss Shauna, who expects her to be available at all hours. Elsewhere, Santi grapples with redefining his sense of masculinity as Jacinda’s primary caregiver because he’s no longer the sole breadwinner.

Dom is happily reliving his youthful share-house days, while Angie distracts herself from her break-up by throwing herself into the climate crisis but it only leads to conflicts once again with Rosa whose expanding restaurant empire seems far from sustainable.

Interview: Turns out Glenn from Hunted Australia and Hunter Blue are very, very close friends

Glenn Azar’s relationship with Hunter Blue seemed to put an immediate target on his and his partner Taylah Robertson’s back in Hunted Australia. Interestingly, the Fugitive has revealed that their friendship runs much deeper than what was shown on TV.

During an interview with Chattr, Glenn explained that he and Blue (real name Luke Andrews) grew close during a military program in Papua New Guinea.

“I know Blue really well,” he said. “I used to run a PTSD program and a veterans program for the military after I got out. [Blue] doesn’t have PTSD or anything, but he came on one of the military programs and I actually took him across the Kokoda track a couple of years ago. So I spent ten days in the jungle with him. I know him very well.”

Blue from Hunted (right). Ten.

Glenn knew they’d have a target on their backs

Glenn said that he purposely avoided telling Blue about his and Taylah’s reality tv plans, despite catching up with him shortly before filming kicked off.

“One hundred per cent we had a target [on our back]. And I knew that would be the case I knew. I didn’t tell him we were on the show and I’d had breakfast with him a couple of weeks before and I still hadn’t mentioned it,” he explained.

“I said [to Taylah] as soon as he sees us, he’s going to target us immediately because he doesn’t want one of his mates to get one up on him.”

Glenn explained that his own military background wasn’t specifically related to catching fugitives.

“Blue’s ex-special forces so there’s a lot of pride in what they do, they’re very high-level guys,” he said. “I was a specialist in my own field, I was an aeromedical evacuation helicopter evacuation specialist, but it’s very different. So this was his skill set, not mine.”

“I knew that if he didn’t go after me one hundred per cent, he would be a bit embarrassed amongst his cohorts who’d say, ‘How did you let these guys get away from you?'”

Glenn Azar. Instagram.

Does Glenn believe it was fair that they were targeted?

The ex-military Fugitive revealed that he was hoping to be targeted in the show because he wanted the thrill of the chase.

“I don’t know if it’s fair but I don’t think life is fair as such. I’ve got no problem with that, I wanted that challenge,” he said.

“We’re competitive, we want to win, of course. But, winning the show wasn’t our sole focus. Our sole focus was hiding in plain sight.”

He added that despite being captured quite early in the game, he’s happy with the overall experience.

“When we got captured… the [Hunters] were cheering, one of the Hunters, she was crying. That’s how emotional they were, so I knew we’d gotten under their skin. And I wanted that level of intensity. If they had gone after other people and let us hide, I don’t know what I would have enjoyed it as much.”

12 fugitives remain on the run as Hunted continues Monday night at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.

Hunted Australia Recap Episode 4: A hot lead ends the game for one evasive duo

It’s episode four of Hunted Australia 2023 and even though they tried every trick in the book, a hot lead saw the ground Hunters capture a duo, ending their lengthy game of cat and mouse.

Here are the highlights!

Ben and Callum manage a quick escape

After using an ATM, Hunted HQ receive a lead on gamer duo Ben and Callum. While the CCTV footage sees an older man making the transaction, the investigators become suspicious, believing that one of the boys’ dads may be involved.

Hunted Team Delta race to Callum’s dad’s house, which happened to be where the Fugitives were headed. As they approached, Ben and Callum spot the Ground Hunters in full interrogation mode and they manage a quick escape.

Jordan celebrates his son’s birthday on the run

Tharren and Jordan, who have been continuing to rely on strangers for help, are still nowhere to be found. Hunted HQ decide it was time to question Jordan’s pregnant wife, Alyse, who tells them that it was their son’s second birthday the following day.

Convinced Jordan wouldn’t miss out on the big day, Hunted Team Charlie makes contact; however, pre-empting their suspicions, Jordan decides it’s not worth being captured, and celebrates the birthday on the run.

Glenn and Taylah’s capture

Having narrowly avoided capture three times, Glenn and Taylah become the target for the Hunters.

CCTV footage reveals them leaving a boxing gym in friend Marcos’ car, which leads two Ground Hunter teams to his address. Glenn and Taylah try to continue their evasive strategy, swapping vehicles and leaving their backpacks at their friend’s home for him to transfer to a new vehicle. Seeking refuge at Marco’s neighbour’s place, Team Alpha arrive on their ally’s doorstep.

Taylah and Glenn are concerned over their friend’s absence, so Craig’s wife offers them a getaway; however, an intercepted phone call leads the Hunters directly to them.

After a high-stakes chase, Boxer Taylah is caught first, and, then shortly after, Coach Glenn.

Gamer duo Ben and Callum are conned

Since their near miss at Callum’s dad’s home, Ben and Callum had been laying low at a local campsite. Given they were now exhausted, hungry, and paranoid, they head into the nearest town.

Fortunately for them, a kind stranger offers them a place to stay for the night, with the duo jumping at the opportunity. However, all was not as it seemed as the kind stranger soon snuck away to make a call to his sister, Kellie, who just happened to be on Hunted Team Delta.

Betting odds suggest the winner of Dancing With The Stars Australia 2023 winner has leaked

It’s grand finals week on Dancing With The Stars Australia and you know what that means! It’s almost time to hand out a new mirror ball trophy.

But, out of the five celebrities left, who will be crowned champion? According to betting odds, Home and Away star Emily Weir is the clear leader to take out the winning spot.

Weir has a very low return of $1.25, indicating that she’s the most likely to win. In second place is Phil Burton and third is Paulini Curuenavuli. Behind them are Christie Whelan Browne and Mary Coustas, respectively.

The betting odds by contestant

Emily Weir – $1.25

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

Phil Burton – $3.60

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

Paulini Curuenavuli  – $10.00

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

Christie Whelan Browne – $13.00

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

Mary Coustas – $15.00

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

Virginia Gay – $21.00

Dancing with the Stars. Seven.

A guide to betting odds

Betting odds are based on dollar value. If someone bets $1, they’d receive back the amount the contestant was listed at. For example, if a punter bets $1 on Emily, they’d receive a $1.25 return if she won. This corresponds with the amount deposited, so $10 would turn into $12.50, $100 would turn into $125, and so on.

Does that mean Emily win definitely win Dancing With The Stars Australia?

No, it doesn’t. However, betting odds can often be a good indicator of who will win a show.

Most recently, betting odds suggested that Brent Draper would win MasterChef Australia, which he did.

Similarly so, Liz Parnov had the best odds to win Survivor: Heros vs Villains, and she was, in fact, crowned the winner. Plus, last year’s betting odds indicated that Reggie Bird would win Big Brother Back To The Future, which she did.

Watch the Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 Grand Finale on Sunday, July 23 at 7.00pm on 7 and 7Plus.

Betting odds hint the Top 3 Million Dollar Island contestants have leaked & as if it wasn’t obvious

We’ve somehow whittled our way from a whopping one hundred contestants down to just seven remaining hopefuls on Million Dollar Island Australia.

Those seven will turn into a Top Three before the winner of… well, one million dollars is decided in the reality TV show’s Grand Final.

Amongst the competitors still in the game are a few main characters, as well as some others who are less known but managed to scrape their way through to the finals.

This sentiment is reflected in betting odds oracle, Sportsbet, which has three contestants with a very high likelihood of winning!

Which Million Dollar Island contestants will be in the top 3?

MDI supervillain Brett Krause has almost perfect odds of winning Million Dollar Island at $1.10.

Matty Apps is sitting pretty closely behind him at $1.33, with Jordan Butler in third place at $1.67.

Jordan on Million Dollar Island. Seven.

Then, in fourth place, Rachel Leembruggen sits at $6.00 while Kylie Ferriday has returns of $8.50 and Alice Litzow is sitting in last place at a whopping $11.00.

If you’re wondering about Chelsea Campbell, she isn’t eligible, as she has already cemented her place in the Top 3, because she’s currently the richest person on the island.

Betting odds. Sportsbet.

How to understand betting odds

Betting odds are based on dollar value.

If a punter bets $1, they will receive back the amount the contestant was listed at. For example, if someone bets $1 on Brett, they would receive a $1.10 return if he won.

This corresponds with the amount deposited, so $10 would turn into $11, $100 would turn into $110, and so on.

Brett on Million Dollar Island. Seven.

Can betting odds really predict the winner?

Betting odds by no means guarantee a win in reality shows; however, they can often be a good indicator.

For example, earlier this year, Liz Parnov was predicted to win Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, which she did. Similarly, Reggie Bird was correctly picked as the winner of Big Brother Back To The Future. Plus, betting odds indicated that Brent Draper had the best chance to win MasterChef 2023, and he took home the crown.

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on July 25 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.

Lauren Fried reveals how she honoured Jock Zonfrillo’s MasterChef legacy at his funeral

Jock Zonfrillo’s widow Lauren Fried has revealed a heartbreaking detail about what she wore to her husband’s funeral.

Fried took to Instagram to share how she honoured her husband’s MasterChef legacy by wearing a traditional Scottish piece from his final episode.

“What a gorgeous man, always happiest in his kilt. This is the fly plaid (tartan over his shoulder) that I chose to wear to Jock’s funeral, the last one he wore,” she captioned a photo of the MasterChef Australia judge wearing the piece.

Jock Zonfrillo. Instagram.

Fans flooded the comments section of the post with their condolences, with Jock’s fellow MasterChef judge Andy Allen writing a sweet reply.

“Missing his smile and energy so much,” the chef said.

Andy Allen pays tribute to Jock Zonfrillo

Shortly after Lauren’s Instagram post, Andy took to his own Instagram to share a touching message in honour of Jock.

“I feel like there will continue to be these moments along the way where it feels so real and gets even harder to comprehend your loss,” he wrote.

“This week has been one of them. Like many things, you were a master at the mentor game and knowing that we won’t be standing side by side, doing our dance together anymore is really sinking in. Love you @zonfrillo”.

The Scottish chef was found dead on April 30 after his wife ordered a welfare check to his Sydney hotel room at 2am. His family confirmed the sad news in a statement at the time.

The cause of death hasn’t been revealed and he was laid to rest on May 12 at a private funeral in Sydney, which was attended by around 200 of his loved ones.

“Felt that it was rigged”: Hunted Australia’s Gracie & Megan on being on the run with a camera crew

Bubbly aunt and niece duo Megan Colwell and Gracie Dale were captured on Hunted Australia after they traversed across Victoria in an effort to escape the Hunters.

At one point, Gracie and Megan donned extravagant costumes before boarding a ferry with CCTV to the Mornington Penisula. However, despite pretending not to know one another, the pair shared a camera team on board the boat.

Hunted. Ten.

While one may think that the filming crew would make Gracie and Megan, well, the opposite of inconspicuous, the beauty therapists said they were surprised at the lengths the cameramen went to stay hidden.

“We were very worried about that and we kind of felt that it was rigged because obviously, the hunters are just going to look for [the filming team],” Gracie told Chattr in an interview post-elimination.

“But our camera boys were awesome. They were part of our team, and they cared about us moving as much as we did, so they tried their best to hide as much as they could. Honestly, we were not worried about them at all,” she added.

Hunted. Ten.

“At one stage where we were literally down the back of someone’s house hiding under a rock and he could have been standing in the way recording, but he was right next to us, cramped up on the rock.”

Megan added that the cameramen were partially hidden from view during the aforementioned ferry trip.

“On the ferry, they were behind the pole and it’s not as obvious as it made out,” she explained.

“They were either really far in front of us or really far behind us or using GoPros and stuff like that. So it wasn’t as obvious as people probably think, they’re actually really good at hiding, just like we are.”

How did Megan know that Gracie was captured?

Gracie was the first of the pair to be captured by the Hunters after the two split up to run away upon their arrival.

Megan hid behind a bush and confessed to the cameraman that she was upset her niece had been caught. But, how did she know the Hunters had gotten Gracie?

Hunted. Ten.

“Neither of us knew you where the other one was, then after an hour of hiding in the bush. The Hunter’s cars pulled up behind the bush. I couldn’t believe it. I heard them pull up and they got out of the car and said we’ve got Gracie,” she explained.

“I only heard from them having a joke about who caught her and what happened, and I also heard them say they were going to put a drone up in the air,” she added.

Megan explained that she overheard them talking about bringing out a “dog squad” which caused her to give up hope.

“I had actually sliced my thumb open when I jumped the fence so I was sitting in the bush dripping blood and I heard them say dogs and I was like, ‘No, this is too much’.”

Hunted Australia 2023 airs at 7.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on 10 and 10Play.

Megan is finally caught

However, a drone was deployed by Alpha and Bravo, flushing her out, leading to the capture of the Hunter’s second Fugitive team.

Ed and Jimi’s online booking blunder

Ed and Jimi have been laying low in Melbourne’s East, with the help of Jimi’s mum, Joanne who had driven 1000 km to help them escape the suburbs. However, the Cyber Team were able to find out their next move after Joanne made an online hotel booking. While Team Bravo went on the hunt, the duo managed to escape on foot.

Ben and Callum’s home computers were accessed

Over at Hunted HQ, the Cyber team set their sights on gamer friends Ben and Callum, who have caused some trouble during their attempts to infiltrate the Hunter network. Cyberteam member Steph then discovered that Callum and Ben shared a home with Callum’s fiancé Sarah.

Since their capture is now personal, Steph paid Sarah a visit under the guise of an admin assistant to gain access to the Fugitives’ home computers.

Glenn and Taylah narrowly avoid capture…again

Glenn and Taylah moved from Bendigo to Melbourne, securing a new car to hit the road, before ditching the car and then catching a lift with a stranger. Using the same person’s phone, they called an associate to arrange a safe haven; however, unaware that many of their contact’s phones had been put on intercept by the Hunters.

With this, the Hunters managed to overhear their next step, deploying ground teams Bravo and Charlie to the large complex in Richmond where the duo were headed.

Unfortunately, the Hunters went to the wrong apartment, with Glenn and Taylah narrowly evading capture once again.

Interview: Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason defends the controversial disco helmet

One of the most polarising elements of Below Deck Down Under season one was Captain Jason Chamber’s infamous disco helmet. And, many viewers will be frustrated to hear that the trophy-of-sorts is back for season two.

For the uninitiated, the disco-helmet was given out by Captain Jason after each charter to the crew member he believes has the most improvement to do. In episode three, deckhand Benny was awarded it for flanking the anchor during the charter; however, he refused to wear it on the crew night out.

Many fans have shared their dislike of the disco helmet on social media stating that they think it’s belittling to the crew member who are consequently embarrassed in front of their co-workers.

Hayu

However, Captain Jason has stood by his choice to give out the disco helmet and explained its origins.

“I get a little bit of flack here and there, but I get more positive than not,” he said during an interview before the season two launch on Chattr’s The Entertainment Hotline podcast.

“It’s an Australian culture thing. I could sit there and reprimand someone in front of everyone about what they do but, it’s like a little kick up the butt and get into it… I’m showing what you did wrong. But I’m not going to make it into a point to embarrass you, verbally. I’ll embarrass you with that helmet!”

Where did the helmet come from?

Captain Jason explained that the helmet was actually made by his former crew when they were working in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

“That helmet has a lot of tradition for me… It’s actually gone away and come back to me. So it has a hell of a lot of tradition,” he said.

“My [old] crew bought a helmet and started buying the tiles and putting it all together. And it did become a bit of a, why have a mirror ball when you can have a disco helmet?”

Captain Jason’s “all hands on deck” motto

The seasoned Captain also lives by the motto, “all hands on deck”, meaning he leads from the top down.

“I’m a worker,” he said. “I’ve had a trade background. I started at the bottom and I’ve got to where I am by grafting. I’ve seen so many times on boats where different departments think that it’s not their job and they lose the fact that we’re trying to all get to the same end result and that’s a successful charter and a happy guest.

“If I show the tone that I’m not going to walk past a bin that needs to be emptied or help wash up, if I have that tone and I just dismiss that, then that gives the right for the deck crew to feel that way. If I actually make that our motto, and that’s what we do, then they have to follow suit.”

Captain Jason and Aesha Scott. Hayu

Since Captain Jason learns a lot about his crew by watching the show back (particularly when it comes to the drama behind the scenes), he also uses this method as a clever tool to “eavesdrop” and find out what’s going on so he can be prepared.

“As a captain, you walk around and you feel the vibe,” he admitted. “That’s why you wash up. Everything starts in the galley. You stand there and wash up in the galley and you’ll hear so much about what’s going on very quickly and then you can actually predict what’s going to happen. You can be prepared for it.”

Which Below Deck Down Under season one crew members are returning this season?

Captain Jason and chief stew Aesha Scott are the only two crew members returning this year. However, Aesha let it slip during an interview with Chattr that someone from the Below Deck franchise will be joining the crew mid-way through the season.

Stream Below Deck Down Under season two on Hayu.

Hunted Australia Recap Episode 2: A game of cat and mouse captures one-half of a Fugitive duo

It’s Hunted Australia episode two and one-half of a fugitive duo has been caught, leaving the other to run to safety.

Meanwhile, Byron and Tanase, the dynamic brother-sister duo, outsmarted the Hunters by taunting them with an epic Instagram live session, while gamers Ben and Callum launched a full-blown cyber warfare, and Glenn and Taylah kept the Hunters on their toes.

Here are all the highlights from Hunted Australia, episode two!

Ten

Byron and Tanase narrowly escape the Hunters

After their sassy Instagram taunt, Hunter Teams Alpha, Charlie, and Delta bolted towards Byron and Tanase. It was a close shave, as the siblings miraculously slipped out through a secret exit and hopped into a getaway car, racing straight to a safe haven offered by their Ghanaian pals.

As the scent grew colder, Chief Dr David Craig rallied up the crew of professional Hunters to follow some fresh leads.

Holly and Josh narrowly escape the hunters

Meanwhile, Holly and Josh’s escape plan took an unexpected twist when their desired camping spot turned out to be closed. With nowhere to pitch their tent, they ended up seeking refuge at their buddy Kester’s house but little did they know, Kester’s sketchy antics unintentionally bought them some precious time as they made a daring getaway, leaving the Hunters hot on their heels.

Megan and Gracie’s game of cat and mouse

The team’s attention suddenly shifts to the aunty-niece beauty duo, Megan and Gracie, who seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Eager to escape the persistent Hunters, the dynamic duo thought they had outsmarted everyone when their well-connected friend, Isaac, arranged a private plane getaway to the picturesque Mornington Peninsula.

Disguised as an elderly lady and a youthful tradie, they embarked on a ferry journey to Queenscliff, blissfully unaware that HQ had been hot on their trail, investigating their rendezvous with contact Kim.

Their trusted ally Ben eagerly awaited their arrival at the ferry terminal, ready to whisk them away to Kim’s work address — an art studio in Breakwater, Geelong.

Team Bravo interrogated Kim; however, hit a dead end until they stumbled upon her secret hideaway.

Racing after her every move, Team Bravo eagerly anticipated the moment she would lead them to the Fugitives, only to be greeted by an empty art studio.

Thanks to CCTV footage, they discovered Megan and Gracie’s getaway in a separate vehicle.

Panic ensued as Megan quickly dialled Ben for a backup plan, setting the stage for a daring escape. With Team Bravo closing in on Ben’s place, Megan and Gracie cleverly slipped away into a neighbour’s house; however, just when they thought they were safe, HQ pinpointed Ben’s drop-off location — a caravan park in Wincheslea, leading to the ultimate game of cat and mouse.

Unfortunately, Gracie fell into their clutches, but Megan managed to evade capture by a whisker!

17 Fugitives remain on the run as Hunted continues….

Hunted Australia airs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights on 10 and 10Play.

Million Dollar Island episode 12: 14 thoughts I had watching the top 10 compete for the final

It’s Million Dollar Island Australia 2023 episode 12 and only 10 players remain out of the initial hundred.

What will Chelsea, the wheel-winner, choose? Will she play it safe for a spot in the grand finale or risk it all for the money?

Emotions run high as the richest person on the Island becomes our first finalist, and one player considers making the ultimate sacrifice to save a friend.

Here are 14 thoughts I had during episode eleven of Million Dollar Island Australia 2023, episode 12!

1. It feels like it’s nearly the grand final, but there are still ten people left, how does that work?

2. Honestly, this entire season I think Chelsea’s the only person to have significantly used strategy.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

3. So, Chelsea can either take a risk by nominating herself and risking her place in the game with the opportunity to get more money, or play it safe and keep herself out of noms. Call me crazy, but I feel like she’s going to make a bold move.

4. Looks like I learnt nothing watching every episode this season. Chelsea has kept herself safe and the pot small by nominating people with the lowest-value bracelets. Yawn.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

The Challenge

5. Brett never seems to take a day off with the insults. His latest jab? “I’m hoping Shaun wins this challenge, I don’t want to be left alone in the camp with Chelsea, it’s like dealing with 12 wives and they’re all angry.”

6. Um, what? Why did Shaun… lick his bracelet before putting it in the pot? He’s lucky we’re not still in 2020.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

7. The balance beam challenge is very clearly going in Go Kart Champion Alice’s favour.

8. Alice wins and Shaun’s sent home. Meanwhile, Karla (and the other nominations) are sent through to the Survival Challenge – something she’s not too happy about.

Survival Challenge

9. I’m confused why Brett, Matty and Chelsea are all trying to team up together because they’re the richest players. Shouldn’t they pick the weakest players to make their direct competitors?

10. Gahhh no. Brett just ate a maggot. RIP me.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

11. It’s so obvious that ‘expedition leaderKarla thinks she’s going to smoke the two ‘soccer mums’ (as Brett called them) and win the Survival Challenge.

12. Rachel, whose actual title on the show is Stay At Home Mum, wipes the smug smile off Karla’s face by winning the challenge and all but ruining Karla’s chances of staying on the island.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

Elimination

13. Brett seems to think we’ll be switching out ‘Soccer Mum’ Rachel for ‘Soccer Mum’ Georgie but I think Kylie will hand her bracelet to Karla.

14. Welp, I’m wrong again. Karla and Georgie are out of here. Here’s hoping my predictions are more on the money in the finale (???) next week.

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on July 25 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.
