“I was really shocked”: Anne Hathaway has reportedly responded to footage of her tense interview

A journalist who recently shared an incredibly tense interview with Anne Hathaway from 2012 has followed up on the incident, explaining that the actress has since apologised.

Here is the latest on the situation, if you need catching up.

Anne Hathaway’s tense interview goes viral

This whole saga began back in 2012 with journalist Kjersti Flaa interviewing the cast of Les Misérables.

Kjersti shared a clip from the junket, featuring her failed attempt to joke around with Anne. In the now-viral video, Kjersti mentions to Anne that she would like to do the first question in a singing voice.

“I was going to ask you to do the first question in singing. Can I sing it to you and you sing can sing back the answer?” She laughed.

Anne replied, “Well, I won’t be doing that. But you’re more than welcome to sing.”

From there, it appears the rest of the interview went down the toilet.

Kjersti asked Anne, “Do you feel that love was more passionate back then?” Followed by, “Do you remember your first crush?”

Anne responded to both with a simple “no”. She didn’t offer any further context on her answers.

For comparison’s sake, Kjersti went on the share clips of her attempts at the singing-question-bit with Anne’s Les Misérables co-stars.

In almost every case – including the likes of Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Hugh Jackman – they obliged and sang back to the journalist. Even if they didn’t sing, like in the case of Samantha Barks, they responded with a kind giggle.

The whole thing resulted in a wave of criticism for Anne, with folks commenting in droves on TikTok.

One fan wrote, “Why is everyone so rude to this interviewer” – seemingly referring to another uncomfortable celebrity interaction for Kjersti, in which Blake Lively appeared to reject the journalist’s congratulations on “her little bump”.

Another shared, “Oh no! I kinda liked Anne Hathaway. That spoiled it.”

Admittedly, however, there were many who questioned the cause of Anne’s response.

“It’s so strange, usually Anne Hathaway is so sweet, why was she so angry?” One fan shared.

Others questioned whether the line of questioning was at fault.

Kjersti shares an update from Anne

In the hours since Anne’s interview went public, there has been an update from Kjersti.

The journalist shared that Anne’s publicist had been in touch, forwarding a “long” email from Anne herself in which she explained the background to her behaviour during the 2012 interview and apologised for the incident.

“It was so touching to me. Just talking about it makes me teary-eyed because I was just so grateful that she did that,” Kjersti said in a follow-up video.

@kjerstiflaa Anne Hathaway just apologized to me for the 2012 interview. Watch full video on YouTube – link in bio ⬆️ #annehathaway #foryou ♬ original sound – Flaawsome Talk

While she didn’t share what was in the email, Kjersti said it was a “very personal note” and that Anne went on to invite the journalist to interview her for her upcoming movie in May.

The power of an apology, hey? Guess we’ll have to wait and see if Kjersti receives the same from Blake.

Everything to know about MKR lovebirds Lawrence and Hannah

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024’s Lawrence and Hannah swanned into the competition with a lot of passion — both for cooking and for each other.

From the start, Hannah and Lawrence have made it very clear just how in love they are and that they want to get married soon.

The couple is excited to share their love of cooking together with the rest of Australia. However, it’s not Hannah’s first time on reality TV. The 30-year-old was a contestant on Big Brother 2020. She came in 10th place and lasted 27 days in the house.

Find out more about the talented home cooks below.

How long have Hannah and Lawrence been together?

The couple have been dating for 18 months.

What would Hannah and Lawrence do with the money if they won MKR?

Hannah and Lawrence have sung from the rooftops that if they win, they’ll get married. The couple emphasised that in their MKR bio.

“It’s no secret I want to marry Hannah. If we won, we’d put the money towards a wedding and buying a house together. $100,000 is a lot of money and could really kickstart our lives together,” Lawrence said.

“Let’s make it official!” Hannah added.

What are their Instagram accounts?

You can have a gander into Hannah and Lawrence’s life outside of MKR on their Instagrams. Lawrence’s is @iamlawrencemurphy and Hannah’s is @hanncampbell.

What have they cooked so far?

At Hannah and Lawrence’s Instant Restaurant Missing Piece, they received a score of 68/110 in round one, which placed them fourth on the MKR leaderboard.

At that event, they made Croquettes de fromage with Ginger Brussels sprouts, jamon, and Jalapeno Aioli for the starter, and for the main, they served Lamb Rump with Crispy Onion Rings, Carrot puree, and Carrot-Top Salsa.

Hannah and Lawrence’s dessert of Baked Apples with Brandy Caramel and Cinnamon Ice cream wasn’t received well by the judges or the contestants.

Their second Instant Restaurant airs on October 8, and we can’t wait to see what they whip up!

Watch MKR on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 pm on 7 and 7plus.

The most savage Twitter reactions to Kylie and Brad’s win on The Block

The Block 2024’s Kylie and Brad took home their second win during the Living and Dining Room week.

While the married couple was certainly delighted about topping the leaderboard and getting two perfect 10s from The Block judges, some viewers weren’t quite as happy about their win.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to criticise Marty Fox and Shaynna Blaze for giving Kylie and Brad a ten for their room. Some pointed out that the couple’s rug was the wrong size.

Marty even went as far as to say that it was his favourite room on The Block so far.

On top of the bragging rights that come with receiving an impressive 29.5 out of 30 for the week, Kylie and Brad also pocketed a whopping $30,000 to use on their build.

Here’s what some Twitter users have to say about Kylie and Brad’s win.

The best reactions to Kylie and Brad’s The Block win

Maddy and Charlotte’s reaction to Kylie and Brad’s win

Fans of The Block will know that sisters Maddy and Charlotte took home the win in the previous week. The women scored 27.5 out of 30 for their neutral-coloured bathroom.

“I love the girl’s direction, and I’m really glad that they found their own personality because this is the first space that is truly theirs,” Shaynna said of the ensuite.

“It’s subtle and simple and sophisticated – (it’s) beautiful,” Darren added.

The win marked the sisters’ first this season, and Kylie and Brad weren’t happy about the judge’s choice. The married couple notably didn’t clap when the sisters won, nor did they congratulate them.

Maddy and Charlotte with their winning bathroom. Image: Nine.

However, Maddy and Charlotte were good sports and clapped when host Scott Cam revealed that Kylie and Brad had won. Some The Block fans didn’t think that the girls should have been so gracious about the couple’s score.

“The girls graciously clapped for Kylie and Brad who acted like immature sore losers the previous week,” one person wrote.

“I would not have clapped Kylie if I had been the girls they are so kind,” another penned.

Eesh.

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Mon – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Another couple from FBoy Island Australia 2024 has shared an update on their relationship

Leading ladies Nicole Mitrov, Ally Woodfall and Krystal Thomas made their final picks at the FBoy Island Australia 2024 finale, so who’s still together now?

The women eliminated 18 FBoy Island Australia men, leaving each lead with a choice between two at the finale.

While that may seem simple in theory, the final episode was anything but. Some of the shenanigans that went down included a returning contestant who begged for a place back in the competition and a shock walkout.

If Nicole, Ally, and Krystal chose a nice guy at the Fboy Island Australia finale, they’d split the $50,000 with their pick. However, if their final choice ended up being an FBoy, then he’d have control of the prize money.

Read on to find out which FBoy Island Australia 2024 couples are still together.

Are FBoy Island Australia’s Nicole and Jack still together?

Nicole and Jack. Image: Binge.

Throughout FBoy Island Australia Season 2, it was evident to viewers that Jack Johnston was a front-runner for Nicole.

So, it came as little surprise when the leading lady picked Jack during the finale, meaning that Nathan Giastis was sent home. Earlier in the season, Nathan had admitted to Nicole that he was gay, and she’d kept him around as a spy.

Six months have passed since filming of Fboy Island wrapped, and the happy couple is still going strong. In a video shared to FBoy Island‘s Instagram, the pair gushed about one another and their happy relationship.

Jack shared that meeting Nicole is his “proudest achievement” and that he’s really grateful to have met her.

Nicole added, “The amount of love and respect that I have for this man that I met on a show is wild. And it honestly leaves me speechless every single day.”

Verdict: Yes, Nicole and Jack are still together.

Are FBoy Island’s Ally and Joe still together?

Ally and Joe on FBoy Island
Ally and Joe. Image: Binge.

Ally and Joe Blanch were undoubtedly the most controversial couple on FBoy Island Australia 2024. After Ally made it clear that she was interested in Joe, he announced that he wanted to test the waters with Nicole. However, she wasn’t interested.

Joe’s actions later raised more eyebrows when it was revealed that he followed Andrew Tate on Instagram. When Ally asked Joe if he was a fan of the self-proclaimed “misogynistic” social media personality, he said that he did “understand” some of his content.

Although the red flags were flying high, Ally ended up choosing Joe as her final pick at the FBoy Island Australia 2024 finale.

Ally and Joe shared a six-month update to Instagram recently, in which they confirmed that, yes they are very much still an item.

“We’ve spent like maybe a day apart in six months,” Ally shared with fans of the show.

Joe did touch on the Andrew Tate controversy in this video, sharing that he regretted “not knowing the full story”. He went on to say he does not follow Tate any longer nor does he agree with his views.

When it comes to the experience of being on the show as a whole, Joe shared it “was so, so worth it”.

Despite that, the couple did have a few words for fans at home. Ally told the public, “If you’ve got an opinion, just keep it to yourself. You don’t know us. Nothing was forced. It was really natural between us”.

“You don’t have to hate so much on two people that just wanted to be with each other,” Joe added.

Verdict: Yes, Ally and Joe are still together?

Are FBoy Island’s Krystal and Paddy still together?

Krystal and Paddy. Image: Binge.

Despite the leading lady calling Paddy Colliar an “old man” in one of the early episodes of FBoy Island Australia 2024, Krystal fell hard and fast for him.

Krystal’s final two were Paddy and fan-favourite Doug Roocke, and during the finale, Krystal picked the former The Bachelor contestant.

Unfortunately for Krystal, she didn’t find lasting love, and she and Paddy split shortly after filming of FBoy Island wrapped.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, but unfortunately, Paddy and I are not together,” she told Pedestrian.

“We did give it a go post-show. Obviously I’m in the Gold Coast and he was in Adelaide at the time so long distance made things slightly difficult. Logistics-wise, it just couldn’t work.

“I think if both parties don’t put in 100 per cent effort, then it’s never going to work. But look, there’s no bad blood there. I wish him all the best. And who knows, you might even see him on MAFS or more reality shows.”

Verdict: No, Krystal and Paddy aren’t still together.

Nobody Wants This: Surprising cast connections you didn’t know about

If you’ve been near a screen of late, chances are you’re aware that the rom-com series Nobody Wants This (and its cast) is taking hold of the masses right now.

In Australia, it’s sitting in the number two spot of the top-streamed Netflix series as of September 23. It has overtaken the likes of Emily in Paris Season 4 and The Perfect Couple and sits behind only Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

While there’s no shortage of content surrounding the Nobody Wants This series and its cast (especially Adam Brody), we thought we’d dive into one of the more curious elements of the show: the many surprising connections shared between the cast and crew.

Here’s what we know.

Nobody Wants This: Cast connections you didn’t know about

Adam Brody and Erin Foster

Erin Foster and husband. Image: Instagram

Probably one of the more surprising connections in Nobody Wants This is the fact that Adam Brody (Noah) and Erin Foster (the show’s creator) both appeared in The O.C.

Adam famously portrayed everyone’s imaginary boyfriend, Seth Cohen, and Erin played Heather – a high school bully who gets involved with Volchok and is actually in the car with him for the infamous car crash death scene for Marissa.

Erin spoke with Vulture of her common history with Adam, sharing, “I had a different nose and different hair, and I’m hoping he never finds out.”

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody

Nobody Wants This cast. Image: Netflix

Our starring pair, Kristen (Morgan) and Adam, portray the romantic leads in Nobody Wants This, but it’s certainly not the first time they’ve worked together.

In 2013, the pair played exes in Some Girl(s). That same year, Adam and Kristen appeared in House of Lies as romantic interests. And, most recently, both actors appeared in Scream 4, though not in any shared scenes.

Jackie Tohn and Kristen Bell

Jackie, who plays Esther in Nobody Wants This, is Kristen’s real-life BFF. They literally did a BFF challenge recently to spotlight their gal pal romance.

Kristen Bell and Leighton Meester

Nobody Wants This cast.
Image: Warner Bros.

While not technically a cast member of Nobody Wants This, Leighton is married to Adam, which makes the connection count, in our opinion.

Kristen and Leighton worked together on the OG Gossip Girl series; Leighton as Blair Waldorf and Kristen as the famous Gossip Girl “xoxo” voiceover artist.

With all this prior history between the people behind Nobody Wants This, it’s no surprise the chemistry for the cast is so effective.

You can stream Nobody Wants This on Netflix Australia now.

Is The Block 2024 on this Sunday?

We’re over halfway through The Block 2024, and viewers have gotten used to watching it every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday.

We’ve got some bad news for those fans who love getting rid of the Sunday scaries by settling down at the end of the weekend to watch The Block room reveals.

The Block 2024 won’t be airing this Sunday, October 6.

Maddy and Charlotte. Image: Nine.

Why isn’t The Block on this Sunday?

The Block aired as per usual during the week commencing from September 29. However, the Living and Dining room reveals have been pushed back and will air on Monday, October 8th.

This is because NRL grand final is airing on October 6.

What does that mean for The Block airing schedule?

While it’s certainly bad news that The Block won’t be on this Sunday, there’s some good news too. Because the room reveals are airing on Monday, we’ll get block episodes Tuesday — Thursday next week.

Normally, The Block doesn’t air on Thursday. However, there will be an episode on October 10th so that the schedule gets back in sync and the Room Reveals can air on Sundays again.

The Voice Australia 2024 contestants who have been on TV before

While it’s not uncommon for a reality TV contestant to have appeared on another show, it’s certainly the case for plenty of this year’s The Voice Australia 2024 contestants.

Nine of this year’s The Voice cast have appeared on a reality show before, and all of them are some sort of singing series.

While these contestants all turned at least LeAnn RimesKate Miller-HeidkeAdam Lambert or Guy Sebastian‘s chairs during the Blinds this year and joined their The Voice teams, some of them have had their dreams squashed on national TV in the past.

Find out which The Voice 2024 contestants have been on TV before.

Siena Fodera

Siena Fodera, who’s on Team Adam this year, has been on The Voice before. She previously auditioned for Season 8 and was part of Team Boy George. However, she was eliminated during the Knockouts round.

Skÿe

Popular The Voice contestant Skÿe has been on The Voice before, too! He took part in Season 4 under his birth name, Nicolas Duquemin, and was on Team Delta, but he was eliminated during the live shows.

Annaleese Fuda

Annaleese Fuda received chair turns from LeAnn and Kate at the Blinds for her performance of Ariana Grande’s Into You, and she chose the Can’t Fight The Moonlight singer’s team.

She was up against Cookie Robinson at the Battles and was eliminated.

Annaleese auditioned for The Voice in 2015 but didn’t receive a chair turn.

Annie Jones

Annie Jones was recruited to Team Adam on The Voice 2024 and faced off against Aaron Hayward at the Battles. The pair sang River by Bishop Briggs, and Annie progressed to the next round.

When she was just 12 years old, Annie was a quarterfinalist on America’s Got Talent Season 15.

Natalie Colavito

Natalie Colavinto’s last reality show was 15 years ago when she was a semi-finalist on Australian Idol Season 6.

Natalie made it through to the Battles round on The Voice 2024 but was knocked out after she and Amber Sindoni performed Take Me to Church by Hozier.

MJ O’Doherty

MJ O’Doherty was eliminated during the Battles round by Matthew Hearne, who later self-eliminated from the competition.

Before going on The Voice Australia, MJ represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in the supergroup Genealogy.

Tori Darke

Tori Darke auditioned for The Voice 2010 but didn’t receive a chair turn. This season, she turned Kate, Guy and LeAnn’s chairs and picked Team Kate.

During the Battles round, Tori sang Please Forgive Me by Bryan Adams with contestant Brad Butcher. The pair were given the opportunity to proceed in the competition as a duo, which they agreed to.

Arthur Hull

Arthur Hull took the stage in The Voice Season 11, but no judges turned their chairs. This year, he made it to the Battles as part of Team Guy but was knocked out when he went up against James Vass.

In the words of Aliyah, if at first you don’t succeed, then dust yourself off and try again.

How to watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 in Australia

Believe it or not, both Daisy Kelliher and Gary King will be back aboard Parsifal III for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5.

The colleagues turned lovers turned friends, who have had a wild relationship over the years, are the only returning crew members, alongside captain Glenn Shepherd.

Daisy and Glenn have been department heads on Sailing Yacht since the second season, however, recent drama had fans questioning whether they would return.

Back in August 2023, A Rolling Stone expose interviewed former production assistant Samantha Suarez who accused Gary of making unwanted advances towards her while filming season 4 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

The allegations cast a shadow over his future as part of Below Deck Sailing Yacht franchise.

OG Big Brother stars share what the rebooted series needs if it wants to succeed

Big Brother is well on its way back, and excitement about the reboot of the OG series format is building. Chattr spoke with former Big Brother contestants about how they feel about the show’s return to Channel Ten and what it will need if it wants to perform.

Here’s what they had to say about it all.

Paul Dyer: Big Brother Season 4 contestant

Image: Instagram

Paul, whose daughter Lexie is about to be on Aussie Shore, is pretty thrilled that we’re going to see a return to the old-school Big Brother format.

Big Brother‘s return to Channel 10 is a masterstroke by the network. That’s where it started, that’s when it was the best, and they know that,” he told Chattr.

According to him, if the show wants to succeed, “Australia must decide the winner and not challenges or a Survivor-type voting system.”

He also added, “They probably also need a bloke like 51-year-old pot-stirrer Pauly in the return series because his daughter is about to run amok on Aussie Shore 20 years after he stirred up Channel Ten’s Big Brother 4!”

Bree Amer: Big Brother Season 4 contestant

Bree-Big-Brother
Image: Network Ten

Bree, who was famously evicted and then brought back to become runner-up in Season 4 of Big Brother, shared she’s curious about how the new season will work.

“I must admit it got me feeling very nostalgic,” she told Chattr.

“I think Big Brother returning to 10 is Big Brother going home. In my opinion, they did it the best and they respected the format and what it was meant to be in those early years.”

“Don’t get me wrong, it had to evolve over time, and change, or people would not have kept watching. In the end, it wasn’t about the human experiment anymore; it was an over-produced game show,” Bree added.

And when it comes to what she hopes to see in this next season, Bree had a few points to share:

“I would love to see it return to being about the relationships again. It’s a hard thing to pull off, though. We live in different times now and can be voyeuristic anytime we like simply by opening social media. Can it compete with that access? I look forward to seeing what they do with it, and what new amazing characters they find to entertain us!

“Bring back Gretel [Killeen]!”

David Graham: Big Brother Season 6 and 14 contestant

David-Graham-Big-Brother
Image: Seven Network

David placed third in Season 6 and returned in 2021 for Season 14 of the series, which saw ex-contestants compete against new housemates.

“Let’s be honest, when Ten had the show it was a ratings success and a great mirror on society. Things went awry after they let it go,” he told Chattr.

“I really do think going home to Ten will give the format its soul back. Right now, every Tom, Dick and Harry can do lives on social media to engage their audience. The success of Big Brother was its live ‘What will happen next…?’ format, which was its core success.”

Michael Beveridge: Big Brother Season 9 contestant

Michael-Big-Brother

Michael, who placed fourth in Season 9 of Big Brother, told Chattr he isn’t overly confident it’ll be able to compete with modern-day reality TV.

“It’s clear chaotic/toxic relationships and property development are what sell, and the beauty in BB [Big Brother] is the idea that it’s not orchestrated,” he said.

“I think the problem will be producers will have too much pressure on them from networks to succeed and will cast people with existing followings, which will erode the trust of the +35-year-old demo that will be actually ticking the survey box.

“The other issue is the payment they offer housemates. …If they [Network 10] don’t pay the contestants more, it’ll just be a pretty narrow group of contestants.”

All in all, Michael stressed, “I just feel it’s not built to succeed anymore. It can’t compete with online and Love Island / MAFS drama.”

Estelle Landy: Big Brother Season 9 and 14 contestant

Estelle-big-brother

Estelle finished up in third place for Season 9 and returned in Season 14, like David. Speaking with Chattr, she shared she’s optimistic about the new season.

“I think it is fantastic and so exciting,” she said.

“Pretty jealous of the new contestants if they are going to get to have the full OG Big Brother experience.”

Speaking on the success of the new season, Estelle said, “This is a no-brainer as far as success. Big Brother has some of the most dedicated viewership/superfans who have tried to hold onto the brand like a cult. They have been screaming for this since the format changed post-Channel Ten.”

“People are sick of the same reality format that produces the same contrived, edited drama. They want authentic and real and to have a say on evictions,” she added.

“If they miss any of the key factors around the OG format, it will flop.”

Heidi Anderson: Big Brother Season 10 contestant

Heidi-Big-Brother
Image: Nine Network

Heidi, who placed 15th in Season 10, shared she is incredibly excited about the new season of Big Brother.

“I am OBSESSED, I was obsessed with it when it was Seven and then when it was Nine and now so pumped its back on Channel Ten and back to its original format. Bring on the life nominations. Can they bring back Sarah Marie too!!!”

Katie Schepis: Big Brother Season 11 contestant

Katie-Big-Brother-2014

Katie, who placed 20th in Big Brother Season 11, shared with Chattr that she’s hugely excited about the show’s return.

“I can’t say I’ve invested in the new form BB [Big Brother] on Channel Seven, but I will absolutely [be] tuning in if it comes back as it was.

Big Brother is a household name, and it will absolutely succeed if it’s in the OG format. I think in this day and age of social media and influencers, it will be difficult to nail the casting, but if they can get real people from all walks of life that aren’t chasing stardom, it’ll thrive!”

While we seemingly won’t be seeing a return from Gretel in this next season of Big Brother (Mel Tracina has been named as the new host), it certainly looks like we’ll see Ten deliver on some of these other wishes from ex-contestants. Fingers crossed it pays off!

Aussie Shore’s Manaaki Hoepo starred in another Australian reality TV show

Aussie Shore won’t be Manaaki Hoepo’s first foray into reality TV, as he previously competed on another Australian reality dating show in 2022.

The New Zealand-born 22-year-old was a contestant on Heartbreak Island and entered as an intruder – known as the show as a Disruptor.

Here’s everything we know about Aussie Shore’s Manaaki.

Aussie Shore's Manaaki Hoepo
Aussie Shore’s Manaaki Hoepo on Heartbreak Island. Image: Seven.

What was Manaaki Hoepo like on Heart Break Island?

Manaaki wasn’t an original contestant on Heartbreak Island. Instead, he joined the show partway through.

However, it didn’t take him long to start stirring up drama between the cast. He was known for digging for gossip from his fellow contestants and then spreading that information, leaving some people in hot water.

Back in 2022, Heartbreak Island contestant Sean Wepener told So Dramatic that Manaaki was a bit of a shit-stirrer.

“[Manaaki] is a facilitator for drama,”he said. “He will pick and choose what he hears, and then he’ll bring it up at the dinner table.”

Manaaki Hoepo on Heartbreak Island. Image: Seven.

Manaaki isn’t the only Heartbreak Island contestant to appear on another reality show

Speaking of Sean, the Heartbreak Island 2022 contestant also made the crossover to another TV show. He appeared on FBoy Island Australia Season 1.

Sean was actually became a bit of a main character at the beginning of the season after calling out Caleb Duncan over a disgusting comment he’d made about leading lady Molly O’Halloran behind her back.

Caleb had said in a producer-led interview that Molly was likely cheated on by her ex-fiancé because she “ain’t got no good p***y”.

Heartbreak Island appears to be a bit of a right of passage to other reality shows, as Netflix star Harry Jowsey also appeared on it back in 2018. Harry actually won the show and walked away with 100k prize money.

Harry has since appeared on Too Hot To Handle, Perfect Match, The Amazing Race Australia and Dancing With The Stars US.

Perhaps Harry will pop up on Aussie Shore at some point!

Maddie said it was her mum’s idea to join the cooking show.

Fans react to Katy Perry’s viral “left shark” AFL moment

In what is probably some of the more positive news to come out of Katy Perry‘s work of late, the singer has gone viral for a staging mishap during her AFL grand final performance.

On Saturday, September 28, the Woman’s World singer took to the stage in front of 100,000 or so AFL fans – but it wasn’t Katy’s performance that has had people talking for days since. Instead, it was a deflated silver balloon.

Here’s what went down, along with how the public has reacted online.

Katy Perry’s AFL grand final performance: What happened?

In a nutshell, Katy’s performance was staged with a series of dancers holding inflated silver balloons above their heads. As soon as video footage of the event hit the internet, fans began noticing one balloon that was not quite like the others.

One dancer, bless them, was cursed with a deflated balloon, and despite their best efforts to power through, the shrivelled-raisin-looking thing went absolutely viral.

Folks were fast to draw parallels between the balloon and left shark, the out-of-time backup dancer from Katy’s Super Bowl halftime show performance in 2015.

How are people reacting?

Unsurprisingly, the comments have rolled in hard and fast for the deflated balloon. Social media is filled with commentary from folks having a laugh at the situation.

“Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?” one commenter shared on Instagram.

“Stop trying to make Katy Perry happen. She’s not going to happen,” wrote another of the performance.

Moving over to TikTok, one fan wrote, “Did someone say left shark”.

Another shared, “The commitment to the routine though”.

A third wrote, “Goon bags were defs the theme of this performance and it was *chefs kiss*”.

Others felt a little bad for the dancer having to navigate the awkward malfunction.

“I feel so bad for her she tried her best,” one user shared to TikTok.

“Why does it always happen during teenage dream,” wrote another.

In any case, the performance certainly won a lot of attention, which can’t be a bad thing for Katy’s Australian visit.

The host of Love Island Australia 2024 has been confirmed

In recent weeks, whispers were circulating that the host of Love Island AustraliaSophie Monk – was set to be replaced by former Big Brother contestant Skye Wheatley.

Here’s what we know about the rumours and where we’ve since landed.

Since season one of Love Island Australia (2018), Sophie has been the series host. However, ahead of the 2024 iteration of the show, rumours were swirling that Skye would host a season instead of Sophie.

Skye is best known for her time on Big Brother and having won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2024.

As The Daily Mail reported, Skye was thought to have been a frontrunner for Nine to replace Sophie as host. However, Skye herself took to Instagram to shut down those rumours rather quickly.

A fan asked Skye on Instagram Stories, “Were you supposed to be the host of Love Island?” And she responded, “No, it was click bait!!”

However, She added a little spice to the conversation by sharing a TikTok with the words “When you get dropped from hosting Love Island because you got ‘scary surgery'” with Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste playing in the background.

Skye posted a playful TikTok with the caption, “Anyone need a Big Brother host? Cause I’ll be there with bells on.” Unfortunately for her, that gig has also been filled by Mel Tracina.

Following on from that, we’ve had a further update from Yahoo Lifestyle. Per the outlet, Nine has directly confirmed that our OG girl Sophie would, in fact, be joining as host of the sixth season of Love Island Australia.

Over the past few years, The Block contestants have taken home millions of dollars in profits. So, if you’re looking to follow in their footsteps, we’ve popped a handy guide about how to apply for The Block 2025 below.

The extremely lucrative reality show is looking for teams of two to apply to be on The Block next year.

If you’re considering throwing your hat in the ring, then let us remind you that last year’s The Block contestants Steph and Gian walked away with $1,650,000, and Eliza and Liberty pocketed just over a mil.

How to apply for The Block 2025

It mentions that previous home renovation experience is welcomed, but isn’t required from both partners.

In an interesting turn of events, Yahoo Lifestyle has shared that casting director Lucky Price will reportedly be parting ways with The Block after 18 seasons.

“Lucky has certainly been a huge part of The Block’s success,” a source told the outlet.

“He [Lucky] has been responsible for so many of the most iconic Block contestants and without him, you wouldn’t have had people like Mitch and Mark, Ronnie and Georgia, and Kristy and Brett on your TV screen.”

Per Yahoo, the news was “a real shock” and it will likely signal a fresh take on casting choices for the show going forward. The next season, come 2025, will be a fascinating one to watch unfold, that’s for sure.

Best of luck to the future Blockheads out there!

Simone and Viviana reveal the hilarious way they celebrated getting record MKR score

Simone and Viviana set a new My Kitchen Rules (MKR) record with their score of 104/110 — the highest ever on the show — and now they’ve opened up about how they celebrated the accomplishment.

The Italian pals were delighted when they heard the judge’s feedback — so much so that Simone was lost for words.

During an exclusive interview with Chattr, Viviana and Simone shared just how proud they were of themselves and revealed what they did straight after finding out they’d got the highest score in MKR history.

Simone and Viviana on MKR after their record breaking score

How Simone and Viviana felt about getting the highest score ever on MKR

At their second Instant Restaurant, Sotto Le Stelle, Simone and Viviana prepared a Beef Tartare with Crumbed Yolk and Crostini for entree, Prawn and Potato Ravioli for main and Mille-feuille for dessert.

Manu Fieldel and Colin Fassnidge scored their entree nine, and both MKR judges scored them 10 on their second two courses. Combined with the contestants’ scores of 46, they were informed that they’d not only topped the MKR leaderboard for round two, but they’d received the highest score ever on MKR.

“I can easily say that it was one of the highest points of my life,” Viviana told Chattr.

“The comments, especially from Manu, were mind-blowing, especially the fact that such an amazing chef said that type of thing about our food. We felt extremely, extremely proud of ourselves,” she added.

‘We didn’t think we could achieve so much. If the competition had ended that day, no one would ever take it from us that we scored the highest in 14 years of MKR.”

Simone and Viviana at their Instant Restaurant. Image: Seven.

Simone echoed Vivana’s sentiments.

“Everything that happened on that episode — it felt like it was unreal. We could not believe that we produced that level of food,” Simone added.

“Obviously, we’re foodies, and it’s an honour to hear this comment from the judges. It’s something we never, ever, ever expected to experience in our lifetime.”

After being told about their record-breaking score, Simone struggled to put his feelings into words during the episode.

“It was a shock, and we could not believe what was happening,” he explained. “I struggle to receive compliments to that extent. So I really didn’t know what to say; I was just speechless. I was in an emotional state of confusion, happiness and shock. It was amazing.”

What did Viviana and Simone do after their win?

After the judges and MKR contestants headed home from Simone and Viviana’s Instant Restaurant, they told Chattr that they were so high on adrenaline that they couldn’t sleep.

Once the excitement began to wear off they realised how hungry they were and… headed to Maccas!

“We had McDonald’s! It was 4:30 a.m. when we finished. We were starving because we hadn’t eaten anything all day, because we were so nervous,” she laughed.

“We were just silent, staring into each other’s eyes, eating the McDonald’s at 4:30am!”

Simone added that they called all of their friends back in Queensland to tell them the great news.

“We called all of our friends; we woke up everyone!” Simone reflected. Viviana laughed, adding “Yeah thats true, fuck we called them at 4:30am!”

Maccas at 4:30am? What a vibe!
