Paige slams The Block for making her “look crazy”

Former The Block 2024 contestant Paige Beechey, who was teamed up with her fiancé, Jesse Maguire, has slammed the show in a series of TikTok videos, accusing producers of making her “look crazy”.

During the September 9 episode, Jesse and Paige announced that they had quit The Block due to her mental health issues.

The episode started with a clip of Jesse and Paige fighting, and they later talked to the show’s psychologist before they decided to leave.

When Paige watched the episode back, she said that she felt that The Block used her issues as a means to entertain viewers.

“The way they handled that whole mental health departure was just such a gross display of a TV show trying to cash grab for relevancy, and it’s really clear that they’re trying to step into their woke era.

“This was very opportunistic for them at the expense of mental health,” she began in the first TikTok video.

Paige said producers cut together her sentences to match The Block story line

Paige told her followers that she and Jesse were progressing smoothly on The Block during the first couple of weeks but was shocked to see that wasn’t how it played out during the episodes.

“The first two weeks, Jesse and I were pretty good. We were smooth sailing; producers were calling me an energiser bunny. They were commending me on how well I was handling the pressures and the stress,” she explained.

“They did that by literally putting full sentences in my mouth, and that’s what we like to call frankenbiting. They were chopping bits and bobs from everywhere and just smushing them together,” she added, referring to the editing technique which involves joining sentences together from different interviews.

“They were just blatantly cutting conversations to make me look crazy,” she said.

“They had to create a storyline for our eventual departure. That’s why they made the first two weeks absolutely fucking crazy,” she added.

“We were quite frustrated with the first two weeks of how we were depicted because it was just an editing shitshow.”

Paige made further claims about her time on the show in the explosive series of TikToks, including allegations against the filming crew and a psychologist.

Former The Block contestant reveals how much money the cast is paid

The Block 2023 contestant Ash Milton has revealed how much the cast was paid to be on the show.

Contestants must take at least three months off work, as filming for the show takes over 12 weeks.

During an appearance on Triple M Breakfast with Margaux, Marto and Dan, Ash, who competed on the The Block with his wife Leah, was asked how much the contestants are paid for their time.

“I’m still under a contract. I don’t know how much I could say, but it’s probably a public thing,” he replied.

“But you get a, you get a little bit of pocket money a day. I think it was around $100 per person per day, which isn’t bad.”

Ash added that while he was on the show, he still had bills from home to pay.

“But you still got to run a house at home. I mean, I actually shut down my whole business while I was down there. You know what I mean?”

A The Block 2022 contestant reveals how much she was paid

Sarah Jane, who competed on The Block 2022 with her husband Tom, echoed Ash’s revelation.

Shortly after her season finished airing, Sarah Jane took to her Instagram for a Q&A session, during which she revealed the dollar amount the contestants on Season 19 recieved.

“So lot of questions about ‘do you get paid’ and ‘how did you lose money?’,” she began, adding: “$100 a day” per person. Which works out to $1400 a week between the team.

The amount is significantly less than that of the Married At First Sight 2024 participants, who told the Daily Telegraph that they were paid $150 a day and an additional $125 for food. Of course, depending on who you ask, MAFS pay details seem to vary from one season to the next.

Meet the The Block’s new team, house flippers Charlotte and Maddy

Sisters – and experienced house flippers – Maddy and Charlotte have replaced Jesse and Paige on The Block 2024.

The NSW sisters picked up right where Jesse and Paige left off and will be renovating house one.

Who are The Block’s Maddy and Charlotte?

At 24 and 22, Maddy and Charlotte are the youngest team to ever compete on The Block.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, they were given just 24 hours’ notice before they had to board a plane and start renovating their house.

They told the publication that during the casting process, producers said their most significant obstacle would be differentiating themselves from The Block 2023 contestants Eliza and Liberty.

“I know that they had two sisters the year before and we were told in the first interview we ever had that that would be our biggest obstacle,” Maddy said.

“Obviously, in casting they need to differentiate the cast, so we were always told from the beginning that that was something that we would have to overcome. But we weren’t really told the details, we didn’t have time for that!” she added.

Maddy and Charlotte have renovated houses before

According to Real Estate, Maddy and Charlotte are property investors and flippers who have already transformed multiple houses.

The publication said that the women had an Instagram account called @wiseproperty_ on which they documented their renovation journeys. However, the account has since been deactivated.

They’ve reportedly renovated regional properties in New South Wales, including a 1950s weatherboard cottage called Millie.

Nat and Mel reveal how “gruelling” The Amazing Race was behind the scenes

Natalie (Nat) Bassingthwaighte and her sister Melinda (Mel) Sheldrick have revealed just how challenging The Amazing Race Australia really is.

Although the siblings said their experience on the adventure reality show was an “adventure of a lifetime”, they told Chattr in an interview that it was a lot tougher than it actually looks.

“There’s so much that you don’t see; they can’t show everything. It’s a lot more gruelling than it looks, but it’s also incredibly fun,” Melinda said.

Nat explained that viewers watching the show aren’t “feeling” the emotions that the contestants are experiencing at that moment.

“The episodes play out for an hour to an hour and a half, and the days start at five or six in the morning,” she added.

“I think our backpacks are like 19 kilos, and you’ve got to carry that around, so that’s a lot of weight for little people like us.”

Nat said that the pressure of the race, combined with the fact that the contestants are competing in a foreign country, makes the experience quite stressful.

“You’re thirsty, and it’s not like you don’t get fed, but your adrenaline is so high because of all those factors. You’re not eating right, you’re in a foreign country, and people don’t speak the language,” she said.

“It’s quite a bizarre thing to explain to anyone, honestly.”

Nat and Mel said the first day of the competition was the most competitive

Nat and Mel, who raced for the charity Black Dog Institute, told Chattr that they were relieved that they weren’t the first team eliminated on The Amazing Race Australia. (Julie and Luke McGregor took that title and shared their disappointment in an interview with Chattr.)

“That’s the one that no one wants to get, at least get through the first [elimination],” Mel said.

She added that all the The Amazing Race cast were fighting hard to ensure they weren’t the first team to be sent home this season.

“The very first episode, the heightened emotions were crazy because no one wanted to go out first. I think that would have been so much harder, even though we were only like one extra day,” she explained.

“Everyone was just full steam ahead; they were so crazy! Our emotions were running so high, it was quite hilarious to watch.”

Nat added that after the frantic first day of the race, she and Mel spoke about keeping cool on day two.

“That’s where the saying the following day ‘calm your farm’ came from,” she laughed.

Considering they were the second team eliminated, maybe being calm isn’t the ideal tactic for The Amazing Race? Just saying.

The Block’s Jesse slams Eliza and Liberty for “encouraging hateful comments”

The Block 2024‘s Jesse Maguire has called out former contestants Eliza and Liberty Paschke over a video they posted to their YouTube channel.

The Block 2023 runners-up have a YouTube channel on which they share videos of their reactions to episodes alongside last year’s winners, Steph and Gian Ottavio.

During the episode that aired on Sunday, September 8, Jesse and Paige made an angry call to their The Block Shop supplier at 1am. The sisters and Steph and Gian shared a video of the scene, and it was clear that they were on the supplier’s side.

“Jesse and Paige are having a phone call with Nadia from The Block Shop, who is an angel, helpful, lovely,” Eliza says in the clip. “And, look, you see, 1am phone call, that’s rude.”

The sisters shared a short clip of their watch party on their Instagram account, and Jesse criticized them in the comments section.

“Great that you’re encouraging hateful comments to flow from Facebook pages to your Instagram account! Appreciate the support,” he wrote.

Fans react to The Block’s Jesse’s comment to Eliza and Liberty

Several fans replied to Jesse’s comment and defended Eliza and Liberty.

“Think you’ll find people ARE supporting YOU! Surely you can see the reasons for people’s reactions when you’ve watched it back?” one follower wrote.

Another called out Paige over the phone call she made to The Block supplier.

“I hope Paige apologised to all the people she was so rude to,” they wrote.

Why did Jesse and Paige leave The Block?

Jesse and Paige announced that they had quit The Block during the episode that aired on September 9 due to Paige’s mental health struggle.

“We just wanted to come and have a chat with you guys because we’re not going to keep going,” Paige explained to her co-stars Kristian and Mimi.

“I just haven’t been myself at all, I’ve really mentally struggled,” she continued.

“She’s been crying for help for the past week, but I’d chosen to ignore it because of how much I wanted to stay here. But, I think I’ve come to the realisation that I need to put her first,” Jesse added.

Jesse and Paige were replaced by sisters Maddy and Charlotte from Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Luke McGregor reveals how “brutal” it was waiting at The Amazing Race finish line

Luke McGregor and his Julie McGregor were the first team eliminated on The Amazing Race Australia 2024 after they accepted a time penalty when they couldn’t complete a Detour challenge.

When they reached the detour, all of the racers were given the option to choose between a National Dance or National Sandwich challenge. The former involved a sensual dance between the teammates, which Luke and his mum only discovered after they’d chosen the challenge.

After giving the dance a good crack, Luke and Julie decided that they’d accept a thirty minute time penalty to avoid having to complete it.

However, once they arrived at the finish line, the time penalty meant that they had to wait for thirty minutes, and all the other The Amazing Race cast passed them, meaning they were eliminated.

“We took that time penalty, and then it was really awkward sitting there waiting for everyone else to cross the line,” Luke told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

“We were on the finish line, watching people go past us and it was brutal, because if we’d just taken the time penalty quicker, or we did the other challenge, we could have got across the line earlier,” he added.

Why did Luke and Julie choose the dance challenge?

According to Luke, when he heard that the sandwiches were called Choripán (which is an Argentinian dish with a grilled chorizo sausage in a crusty bun), he wasn’t familiar with the food and was worried it would be some sort of insect.

“I didn’t know what they were were!” Luke said. “I thought it would be one of those gross food challenges. So we thought, ‘let’s do the dancing instead’, but ended up being delicious snacks.”

Luke said that while he and Julie enjoyed their short time on The Amazing Race Australia 2024, he was dissapointed that they were the first team eliminated.

“When Mum had a cry it made me feel horrible,” he said. “It was one of those things where I didn’t think it would hit me as much.

“But then once we met everyone, and there’s so much time you spend prepping and getting ready to do it and then we were just still gone. So, it was sad, really sad to leave,” he said.

Being eliminated first and not even scoring a chorizo sandwich? We certainly understand the dissapointment.

Scott Cam on how The Block helped Jesse and Paige after they quit

Scott Cam has opened up about Jesse and Paige’s decision to leave The Block 2024 over mental health issues.

During the September 9 episode of The Block, the WA team tearfully decided to leave the show one month into filming.

“We just wanted to come and have a chat with you guys because we’re not going to keep going,” Paige explained to her co-stars Kristian and Mimi.

“I just haven’t been myself at all, I’ve really mentally struggled,” she continued.

Jesse and Paige visited the other contestants to tell them about their decision to exit The Block.

“I’ve been very mentally struggling; I haven’t really been myself at all,” Paige told Brad, Kylie, Ricky and Haydn. “A lot of consideration has been given to this decision.”

“Look, we’ve tried everything, me staying on Paige going home for a little bit, but at the end of the day, as much as I want to stay here and be a part of this, Paige comes first,” Jesse said.

Scott Cam weighs on Jesse and Paige’s decision to leave The Block

When Jesse and Paige met with Scott Cam and all of The Block cast to say goodbye, the TV host commended the couple’s decision, calling it “brave”.

Now, he’s elaborated on what happened behind the scenes that led Jesse and Paige to quit The Block.

“When these guys were struggling, and we could see it, we got professional help, we had extensive chats, and we made sure that they were comfortable. They made the decision themselves,” Scotty explained to 9Entertainment.

“We followed up with professional care in their home state to make sure that was ongoing for as long as they needed it,” he added.

Scott said that he thought it was very important for Paige to prioritise her mental health over remaining on the renovation series.

“It was a duty of care moment. It was a wellbeing moment,” he said.

“We’ve always said that we are not doing anything super important here, we’re just renovating. Health, well-being, and happiness always come first on The Block.

“We don’t want to leave here. But I think Paige realized that the right decision.”

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Claire alleges her ex Andrew stole her car in Instagram post

It appears that Farmer Wants A Wife alumni Claire Saunders has come out with allegations against her former partner and on-screen beau, Andrew Coleman, amidst their sudden breakup.

Despite falling in love during the 2023 season, the two cancelled their upcoming wedding, with Claire moving to Tasmania alone.

Now, concerning allegations have been aired on what appears to be Saunder’s social media accounts, with posts alleging that her ex “followed” her to Tasmania and stole her car.

“Turns out Andrew flew down to Tasmania in secret and followed me around for a few days without my knowledge,” the Instagram post read, as acquired by So Dramatic!.

“He waited until I was asleep and then, in the middle of the night, stole it from my mum’s driveway,” the post continued.

It also said that her car was gone when she woke up on Thursday morning, alleging that Andrew had stolen it and taken it to mainland Australia.

“I woke up Thursday morning to find my car gone, so I called the police and reported it as stolen,” the post read.

“While I am crying doing my statement to the police, he was driving my car to Hobart to put it on a car carrier to be shipped to the mainland.”

The post said that while she reported the alleged theft to the police, it was dismissed because it was classed as a “civil” case. Andrew has not responded to the comments publicly.

The post added that Claire found it difficult to understand how their relationship shifted so much.

“I don’t understand any of it because how can someone you love go to so much effort to steal from you but not see you to talk,” it said.

In the post, it also states that she hasn’t been in contact with her ex-fiancé since she left his farm, adding that he hasn’t taken her calls or seen him. “I have tried many times to talk to him to sort things out with no response,” the post added.

The post also shared some words of wisdom for women in bad relationships: “Girls, you should never stay in a bad relationship. If you are made to feel like you are not worthy, LEAVE no matter how much it hurts because it will never change.”

What happened with FWAW’s Claire and Andrew?

Claire and Andrew broke up suddenly in early July after her wedding dress was listed for sale on Facebook.

She told So Dramatic! that the two of them were arguing about small things leading up to the wedding.

“Andrew was quite stressed due to the wedding planning and his father being unwell… So we started arguing about silly things,” she told the podcast. “I asked him why we got engaged, and he said it was because that’s the natural progression of things.”

She explained that it was his non-committal reply that led her to call the wedding off.

“I saw red. Then I said: ‘I’m not going to drag you to the altar’. And the next day I told him I was cancelling the wedding. It was supposed to be a joyous time… I felt like he took that away from me.”ffwa

Since the Instagram post was shared, Saunder’s Instagram profile is inactive.

“Not the best mental health advocate”: MAFS’ Olivia weighs in on Dom’s new podcast

Married At First Sight (MAFS) nemeses Olivia Frazer and Domenica Calarco are in another social media war, this time over a podcast episode Dom was on.

Dom went on The Shit Show with Tammin Sursok podcast. She opened up about her mental health struggles, ultimately reminding people to be mindful when speaking about reality stars on the internet.

However, Olivia – who clashed with Dom during her time on MAFS 2022 – didn’t take kindly to her former cast mate’s message.

“Remember when I was publicly begging to be left alone, and this woman kept perpetuating hate against me?” Olivia wrote in one comment on the podcast’s TikTok page.

Olivia left two additional comments on the podcast’s promo video.

“Remember when Kyle & Jackie O played a stolen sex tape of mine, and this woman laughed and gossiped about me,” she wrote.

“Maybe not the best ‘mental health advocate’,’” she added

Many fans sided with Olivia

“Wow 😳 Dom is the biggest hypocrite!! She has never taken accountability for ANYTHING. She has openly bullied and harassed others and flaunted the fact,” one user wrote.

Another said that they wouldn’t be listening to the podcast episode.

“Love your pod Tammin, but I’ll have to give this episode a miss. This guest has torn down so many other women so viciously that I can’t support unfortunately,” they wrote.

Another user was so enraged by how Dom treated Olivia on MAFS, that they hit the capslock button while writing out their thoughts in the comments section of the podcast’s post.

“SHE LITERALLY THREW AN ANTI OLIVIA PARTY. BUT NO POOR DOM,” they penned.

Dom has yet to respond to any of the comments. But let’s all remember something: being kind doesn’t cost a thing!

“Highest scoring food ever”: Colin Fassnidge praises Michelin-level MKR 2024 dish

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 judge Colin Fassnidge has revealed that this year’s season will see a team of contestants awarded the “highest-scoring food ever in 14 years”.

“There is a dish that got the highest score you can ever get,” he told Chattr in an interview. “That was like going to a Michelin-star restaurant and eating.”

“I would pay top money for that. And then there’s a dish I never want to see again. So it goes from both ends of the spectrum.”

Colin explained that he and Manu Fieldel aren’t necessarily looking for complex dishes from the contestants but ones that can be recreated at home.

“It’s a home cooking show, and I think something that puts a smile on your face or gives you a memory that you taste, and you go, wow, that brings you back,” he said.

“You want people to put their food on the plate and not try and recreate something just because it’s a show.”

MKR’s Colin Fassnidge thoughts about contestant’s who score competitively

The Instant Kitchen segment of MKR sees the first group of contestants travel around Australia as each team cooks in their own kitchen.

At the night’s end, the teams give the pair who cooked a score out of 10 – as do judges Manu and Colin.

The scoring method has led to some teams underscoring their competitors in the past to help them climb the My Kitchen Rules leaderboard.

Colin told Chattr that while contestants are allowed to use strategy when scoring, he doesn’t think it’s a good look.

“It’s their choice. But if they don’t want to look like a dick, pardon my French, on television when it comes out, that’s your call,” he said.

“I think they [this year’s contestants] were very aware of how they will be perceived this year because it’s like, obviously, if you watch the show, anyone who does that’s not really liked by the public, are they?”

What would Colin cook on MKR?

The esteemed chef and judge told Chattr that he knows exactly what he’d make if he were one of the MKR contestants cooking in the Instant Kitchen round.

“I would do a porchetta, so a stuffed pork belly,” he revealed. “But I’d stuff it with amazing herbs, like sorrel and chard, and make it into a pinwheel, so when you cut it, it’s the pork layered with the green.

“I make this green sauce, made of ginger and different things. Manu hates it because I always make it, but I would cook it and make colcannon which is an Irish fish potato dish.”

Uh, oh: The Perfect Couple’s opening dance sequence almost caused a “mutiny” on set

After collectively spending our weekends binge watching Netflix’s new murder mystery The Perfect Couple, we’re officially in recovery mode. But while all the episodes are done and dusted, the piping hot tea is not, with reports emerging that one particular scene in the show almost caused a full-fledged “mutiny” amongst the cast.

If you thought the scene in question would be that dance sequence, then congratulations! You’re right!

Based on Elin Hilderbrand‘s book of the same name, the six-part murder mystery dropped on Netflix on September 5 and follows a police investigation into a wealthy family after a body is discovered during a wedding. The show made it to the top of our to-do lists this weekend thanks to its packed cast, including the likes of Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, and, of course, Nicole Kidman.

But despite the dark undertones of the show, the opening credit sequence saw a bizarre directorial choice, which saw the entire cast, including Nicole, participate in a flashmob-inspired dance sequence on a beach to Meghan Trainor‘s Criminals.

The show’s director says that the idea behind the scene was to show that the series was going to be “fun”.

“I’ve gotten so bored with title sequences,” director Susanne Bier told IndieWire. “There was, at some point in the script, a nightmare sequence where there was a dance. I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to do that.’ But there was something about the word ‘dance’ that stayed with me, and I was like, ‘We are going to do the title sequence as a dance with everybody.’

“First of all, it’s going to be really joyful and fun, but it’s also going to suggest to the audience, ‘Hey, you are allowed to laugh here. You don’t have to think this is very dark and very serious because it’s not.’”

But sadly, the cast weren’t buying the ‘vision’, with reports emerging that they created a WhatsApp group to protest the bizarre sequence and in the process, almost caused a “mutiny”. Yikes.

Meghann, who plays social media influencer Merritt, said that people hopped on a WhatsApp group chat because they didn’t want to do the scene. “Everyone was on that group saying they didn’t want to do this because we just didn’t understand,” she told Variety.

“I actually have a really, really huge issue with learning choreography so I was very nervous about it,” she added.

Similarly, Ishaan Khatter, who plays the best man Scooter, added that he couldn’t see the point of the dance. “I don’t think any of us could make sense of doing this choreography in these characters,” he told Variety. “We’re like, ‘Wait where does this fit into the scheme of things? This was not part of the assignment!’”

Nicole, who plays the lead in the show, also wasn’t convinced, explaining that she didn’t feel like her character Greer would dance. “I didn’t feel like Greer would dance! I felt like Greer would watch,” she said adding that she too, had joined the elusive WhatsApp group.

However, the star says that eventually, she came to love the scene. “But I danced as Greer. I think it’s great and I’m so glad they got us all to do it. ‘Cause there’s some joy in it.”

The only person who seemed like they were totally onboard from the get-go was Liev Schreiber, who played Greer’s husband, even adding that he wasn’t part of the WhatsApp mutiny.

“I wasn’t in that [WhatsApp] chain,” he said. “The entire cast had a mutiny about this idea except for me, I was already in my trailer practising the dance moves. I just like dancing, and I was kinda disappointed when it came out that I’m not in it more because I thought I did it really well.”

But despite the initial resistance and calls for a mutiny, it seems that the cast eventually got onboard with the odd sequence, with Fahy admitting that they all had “fun” filming it.

“The God’s honest truth is that at the end of the day, we were very, very joyful about it. We all sort of ended up giving in to it,” Fahy shared. “It was so fun and I actually weirdly think it’s amazing.”

Everyone who left Hunted Australia 2024

The Hunted Australia 2024 team was made up of some highly skilled Fugitives. However, throughout the season, the Hunters tried to pick them off.

The Fugitives were on the run from the Hunters, who were armed with advanced intelligence and determined to catch them.

The teams of Fugitives who managed to evade the Hunters for 20 days and make it to the extraction point had the opportunity to win $103,000 prize money (yes, you read that right).

However, the new Hunted Chief Reece Dewar declared in the premiere episode that “no fugitive is making it to extraction”.

If the Hunters did manage to catch all of the Fugitives before the 20-day mark, no prize money would have been won. The Hunters got off to a good start as they caught their first team during the second episode.

So, who out of the Hunted Australia 2024 cast left the show and who made it to the end? Scroll through to find out.

Hunted 2024 winners: Deb and Andy

Deb was captured just before she got to the extraction point. Meanwhile, Andy made it to the extraction point and won $55,000. You can check out our interview with the Hunted 2024 winners.

Romanee and Chelsea

Romanee and Chelsea were captured during the Hunted Australia 2024 grand finale. The Hunters pushed the girls for information about the extraction point but refused to give it up.

Akec and Joe

Akec and Joe were caught after the Hunter’s door knocked on their helper’s house. The helper spilled the beans about the Fugitives’ whereabouts, which led to them being caught.

Kaylie and Tony

Kaylie and Tony were eliminated during Episode 9.

Luke and Ben

Luke and Ben were captured after a neighbour at their campsite called the tip line and alerted the Hunters.

Ondeane and Shelli

Odeane and Shelli were captured during episode seven after the Hunters caught them disembarking from a bus.

Tayla and Jayde

Tayla and Jayde were captured after they used some of the Futgitive’s stolen money to buy two glasses of white wine.

During a post-elimination interview, the friends said they applied to be on Hunted Australia 2024 to disprove a stereotype that has followed them all of their lives.

Joanna and Lee

Lee was captured during episode three after the Hunters followed his and Joanna’s car. The Fugitives pulled over at a park and split up, and the Hunter managed to grab Lee but not his partner Joanna.

However, Joanna was caught shortly after during episode four.

Tanisha and Bobby

Bobby and Tanisha were eliminated on Hunted Australia — Bobby and Tanisha. Image: Ten.

Tanisha and Bobby were the first team eliminated and were caught during the August 12 episode. Their downfall was using their Myki cards for public transport, which allowed the Hunters to find their location.

In a post-elimination interview, Bobby told Chattr that he believes the Fugitives will outsmart the Hunters on Hunted Season 3.

“I think a Fugitive will win,” he said.

“They are phenomenal, the fellow fugitives. They were extremely bright and very well prepared.”

The Block 2024 judges’ scores for each room reveal

Five teams of everyday Aussies are working hard renovating houses on Phillip Island in the hope of receiving the highest scores from The Block judges each week.

The 2024 The Block judges – Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox – visit the Blockheads’ houses during the room reveals and award them a score out of ten.

The contestants who receive the highest score each week receive a prize that will help them with their future renovations. Those prizes will help add value to the contestants’ houses.

At the end of the season, each The Block team will be given a reserve price and an auction will be held. Contestants keep any money their houses sell for over the reserve, and the pair that sells their house for the highest amount scores an extra $100,000.

Hunted Australia 2024 winners Andy and Deb reveal what they credit their win too

Andy was the sole Fugitive who made it to the extraction point, after his wife Deb was captured at the last minute during the Hunted 2024 grand finale.

Throughout the season, Andy and Deb were clear front runners as they managed to avoid the Hunters at every turn.

Looking back at their time on the popular reality show, the married couple told Chattr that there was one thing that they credit their win too; their helpers.

“Our number one strategy was to rely on strangers and not have people we know help us. So without their help, we wouldn’t have had food, accommodation, or transport,” Deb said in a post-winning interview.

“We couldn’t have done it without the people we met,” Andy added. “Obviously we had some good strategies, but if people weren’t kind and hospitable and generous with their time and resources, then we didn’t have a game at all, because we were relying on people we don’t know.”

Why Deb and Andy’s helpers were so successful

Throughout the 2024 season of Hunted, many of the Fugitives have been betrayed by their helpers, like Akec and Joe, whose helper Malaan revealed their location to the Hunters, which led to their capture.

Deb and Andy explained that they had a strategy that encouraged their helpers to stick by their sides and not betray them.

“When they agreed to help us, our first thing was asking them ‘what would you guys do in this situation?’. We genuinely asked them for their help, and we said ‘it’s not just us, we’re a team now, we all want to win,'” Deb said.

She explained that she and Andy worked with their helpers and reminded them that they were all in the game together.

“Our helpers were the best helpers out there.” she said. “We spent a lot of time letting them know that throwing the Hunters off track was their role in our game.”

“[We said] if the Hunters come to their house you’re part of our team now, we’re a team that’s up against them.

“As soon as they [the helpers] had that realisation of, ‘Yeah, we want to be part of the winning team’ they just threw the Hunters completely off track. And there’s no way we could have done that without their help

“They felt like they were part of our gameplay, and they were giving us ideas and suggestions. So once they’re that invested, they don’t want to lose either, and they don’t want to see us lose.”

“Trash talking”: MAFS’ Domenica slams Olivia for commenting on her fall out with Ella

Domenica Calarco has slammed former MAFS co-star Olivia Frazer for commenting on her friendship fallout with Ella Ding.

Ella and Domenica built a strong friendship on MAFS 2023 and released the Sit With Us podcast shortly after the season finished airing.

In early August, Domenica shared the news that Sit With Us had ended in their official Facebook group. Ella and Domenica have since unfollowed each other on Instagram and hinted that they had a falling out in an Interview with Daily Mail Australia.

After that interview was released, one of Olivia’s followers asked her how she felt about Domenica and Ella’s rift.

“I feel very vindicated,” Olivia said when she responded to the question, as per So Dramatic!.

“That being said, I don’t wish them ill. I don’t wish them well either.

“When you’re negative, and all you put out and wish for others is negative, it comes back to you. So let’s all be positive from here on out because I know I am.”

Pedestrian TV published an article about Olivia’s Instagram story, and Domenica took to the comments section on Instagram to share her displeasure about her former co-star’s opinion.

“I haven’t spoken about that person in years, and yet here she is trash-talking me without knowing anything about ANYTHING. Please go away,” she wrote.

Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew shares her leukaemia diagnosis on air

Sunrise host Edwina Bartholomew bravely opened up on air about her leukaemia diagnosis.

The news presenter told viewers that she is battling chronic myeloid leukaemia at the end of the September 6 episode of Sunrise.

“I have some personal news this morning. It’s not great news, not a panda story to finish the bulletin, I have been diagnosed with cancer,” she tearfully said.

“That’s a shock to say, and hard to say, but it’s a really good kind. It’s called chronic myeloid leukaemia.”

Edwina, known by viewers as Eddy, shared that she can fortunately treat the cancer with daily medication.

“It can be treated with a daily tablet, and if I take care of myself, I will be completely, absolutely fine. So I feel very, very lucky.”

Eddy said that she decided to share the personal news with viewers for a “couple of reasons”.

“Firstly, because everyone at home in here has been here for all the wonderful times, for the engagements and the weddings and the babies, for all of us. So it felt right to share this with you, too.”

She went on to say that another reason she decided to be open about her diagnosis was to encourage viewers to prioritise their health.

Edwina’s message to viewers in light of her cancer diagnosis

Eddy said that her co-star Nat Barr’s cancer scare spurred her to get a health check-up, which led to her diagnosis.

“I got a skin check after Nat had her scare,” Eddy said. “I had a mammogram after I had a few lumps, and that came back all clear.

“I even had an eye check, and that’s fine, but my doctor sent me to get some routine blood tests at the same time, and one of those tests came back with some levels out of whack.”

The Sunrise host tearfully said that she hoped that sharing her cancer diagnosis publicly would encourage viewers to check their own health.

“Please, particularly for mums who always take care of everyone else, please take care of yourself too, and just check in with your doctor,” she said.

MAFS’ Mel Schilling shares concerns over Elle MacPherson’s cancer treatment messaging

Married at First Sight’s (MAFS) Mel Schilling has spoken out about Elle MacPherson’s message in which she said she treated her cancer diagnosis “holistically”.

Mel announced in late 2023 that she had been diagnosed with colon cancer after experiencing severe pain while filing the 11th season of Married At First Sight. She’s been undergoing treatment for the cancer ever since.

Meanwhile, Elle recently revealed in her upcoming memoir, Life, Lessons, and Learning to Trust Yourself that she secretly battled breast cancer seven years ago and is now in remission. The model said that she took a holistic approach to her illness.

In light of Elle’s revelation, Mel has criticised her choice to use her platform to recommend a holistic approach to treating cancer.

What did Mel Schilling say about Elle Macpherson’s holistic approach to cancer?

Mel took to her Instagram to share a video about her own experience with cancer, and to share more details about the concerns she has about Elle using her platform to talk about her own approach.

“I’m having some thoughts about Elle and the interviews she is doing lately, as a relatively new member of the cancer community and as someone who has just completed six months of chemo,” The MAFS expert said in a video shared to Instagram.

“Elle revealed several years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and saw more than 32 doctors, who advised her to have a combination of chemo, radio and hormone therapy.”

“She chose not to do that and chose a more holistic, wellness approach, which included things like prayer, meditation and so on.”

Mel went on to point out that she’s worried Elle’s message could encourage people who are suffering from cancer to avoid taking doctor’s advice.

“I believe in a holistic approach as well, but my approach includes chemo, too,” she said.

“I have a problem with Elle Macpherson, as a high-profile role model, a person who is seen to be incredibly aspirational… and she’s selling products.”

“So, for me, this message she is peddling at the moment – which is her own story, sure – but it’s plagued with judgement, arrogance, superiority and privilege. It concerns me.”

“My greatest concern is people will listen to her and then choose not to take the medical route and could be in danger –my people out there in the cancer community – who are struggling to get through chemo.

“Who would love to be able to have access to this whole range of other treatments that are probably quite expensive and maybe not accessible to the average person.”

Ready for the Hunted 2024 Grand Finale? Here’s everything you need to know

The Fugitives have been on the run all season, and while most of them have been picked off by the Hunters, two teams have made it to the Hunted Australia 2024 grand finale.

Those two teams are just a fraction away from outsmarting and outrunning the Hunters, but they still need to make it to the extraction point without being caught.

Tune into the grand final to see if they can do just that, and read on to find out everything we know about the Hunted 2024 grand final.

When is the Hunted Australia 2024 Finale?

The Hunted Australia 2024 grand finale will air on September 8 on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Who’s in the Hunted 2024 Grand Final?

So far, seven of the nine teams have been eliminated on Hunted 2024. Ahead of the grand final, just Andy and Deb and Romanee and Chelsea remain.

Hunted’s Chief Reece Dewar actually warned Chattr that Andy and Deb were a team to watch in an interview.

“Andy and Deb have an awesome background. Andy is a fireman and Deb, her dad was a safe cracker back in the day,” he said. A safecracker is a person who breaks up and robs safes,” he said.

“They’re a dynamic pair, those two,” he added.

“And the other thing is they’ve been married for over 20 years, so they know each other very well, know what they’re capable of, know what their mindset is going to be like, so they’re pretty good.“

Meanwhile, Romanee and Chelsea are mates from South Australia and Tasmania, respectively. Romanee is 25 and works as a marketing consultant while Chelsea is 26 and in finance.

What will happen in the Hunted 2024 finale?

The goal of Hunted is for the Fugitives (the Hunted Australia 2024 cast) to evade the Hunters for 21 days, and safely make it to the extraction point without being caught.

However, there was a new twist at the beginning of Hunted 2024; the Fugitives were tasked with robbing a bank and had the possibility of getting away up to a million dollars. They got away with $927,000, which was split between the nine teams, meaning they received $103,000 per team.

In order to win the $103,000 the Fugitive or Fugitives must make it to the extraction point with the stolen cash.

So, during the grand final we’ll find out if any of the Fugitives make it to the extraction and win.

“Mixed feelings”: Raygun responds to Jimmy Fallon’s parody of her

Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael ‘Raygun‘ Gunn admitted to having “mixed feelings” about Jimmy Fallon’s parody of her routine.

Raygun became an overnight sensation after she whipped out the sprinkler and some kangaroo-style moves during the breakdancing event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The performance scored her zeros across the board and even saw The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon mocking Raygun’s moves.

During her first official interview since her Paris Olympics saga, Raygun reflected on the skit in a one-on-one chat with Waleed Aly.

“I don’t know whether to, like, hug him or yell at him! Because what a platform he ended up giving me, like, honestly,” she said during the September 4 episode of The Project.

“I haven’t actually seen the sketch ’cause I don’t think I’m in a place yet to watch it, but I will watch it at some point,” Raygun continued.

“And, you know, a few different people have kind of explained it to me and given me different takes on it.”

“But I’m still in the process of being able to describe how I feel about all this stuff because it kind of feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m gonna wake up from at any moment. Like, what is life right now?!”

What was the reaction to Raygun’s Olympic breakdance?

Raygun received mixed reactions to her bizarre breakdown routine; some were in favour of her positive and creative attitude, while others accused her of taking the spot from other talented breakdancers.

The Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised Raygun’s efforts at the games.

“The Olympics is about people participating in sport – that’s a good thing. And Raygun had a crack, good on her, and a big shout-out to her,” he said during a press conference.

That is in the Australian tradition of people having a go. She’s had a go representing our country and that’s a good thing.”

Meanwhile, podcaster and internet personality Hannah Berrelli had a completely different opinion.

“Her little stunt diminishes Australia on the world stage. Hundreds of Australian athletes who will have dedicated their entire lives to athletic excellence will be forgotten because Rachael wanted to bulk up her ResearchGate profile,” Hannah wrote in a lengthy X post.

She continued, “Rather than their medals and efforts, this is what Australia will be remembered for.”

During The Project interview, Raygun responded to the criticism she received over her Olympic performance.

“It is really sad to hear those criticisms,” she said. “I am very sorry for, you know, the backlash that the community has experienced. But I can’t control how people react.”

Despite the negativity, Raygun’s certainly a woman in demand since her baffling Olympic performance. She’s already locked in a talent agent, and it’s rumoured that she’s been eyed off for the next season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
