It’s episode seven of Dessert Masters 2023 and holy dooley, we’ve just lost one of the greats!
Our pastry stars were welcomed by a movie board showcasing various film titles. However, rather than grabbing the popcorn to enjoy a flick, they were given a movie-inspired elimination challenge.
Before the cook could even commence, they were also told that every challenge from this point of the competition would be an elimination.
The contestants each had to choose one of the film titles to use as inspiration for their dish, selecting between Mission: Impossible; Star Trek; The Godfather; Transformers; Grease; Breakfast At Tiffany’s and Pretty In Pink.
With two and a half hours to cook and Kirsten safely on the gantry, it was time to cook!
The Creations
Kay-Lene Tan
Kay-Lene selected Pretty In Pink, choosing to present a captivating pink pavlova, crafted meticulously into the shape of an imperfect heart.
While Mel and Amaury liked the concept, there were lingering doubts regarding its potential overpowering sweetness.
Despite the judges’ appreciation for her final creation, it was the imperfections in the jelly component that posed a threat, placing Kay-Lene on the edge of potential heartbreak.
Anna Polyviou
Anna selected Breakfast At Tiffany’s, creating a high-tea spread inspired by the film.
Even though she had grand plans, Anna had to omit crucial elements of her dish while rushing to complete the final dessert.
During the tasting, Amaury praised Anna’s daring choice for a well-executed and elegant tasting menu.
However, Melissa expressed doubts that the dish truly met the requirements.
Reynold Poernomo
Reynold’s chose Star Trek, prompting him to craft a plated dessert resembling Saturn, even incorporating one of Amaury’s techniques to create Saturn’s rings.
With limited time remaining, Reynold contemplated utilising his Immunity Pin to resolve an issue with the insert’s setting. However, he regained his composure and forged ahead.
Mel commented that the dessert lacked the finesse typically associated with Reynold’s creations, and Amaury agreed, unable to recognise it as Reynold’s handiwork. Luckily, the remarkable taste outshone its appearance.
Adriano Zumbo
Adriano’s culinary creation drew inspiration from a memorable scene in the movie Grease, aiming to capture the nostalgic essence of a classic diner milkshake.
Although he put great effort into perfecting the flavours, the challenge arose when it came to unmolding the cups.
Despite experiencing a minor setback, the judges acknowledged his ambition and praised the overall quality of the dish. However, both Amaury and Mel anticipated a more electrifying culinary performance from him.
Andy Bowden
Movie: The Godfather
Gareth Whitton
Movie: Grease
Jess Liemantara
Movie: Transformers: Bumblebee
The Result
In a shock elimination, Adriano became the third chef eliminated from the competition.
“Ads, you take a look around right now. You are surrounded by people that have been inspired by you to follow their pastry dreams,” Mel said.
“You have shaken up the industry from the moment you walked into it. In a way, you are the original Dessert Master and will always be our Sweet Assassin.”

Big Brother Australia 2034 intruder Bella Sommers has called out housemate Minee Marx over her treatment of her on the show.
Bella entered the Big Brother house as an intruder alongside Teejay Halkias. Even though she initially hit it off with her fellow intruder, her housemate Minee was jealous that she was interested in her love interest Louie Phillips.
Minee’s jealousy escalated with Minee was paired with Louie, and the two were strapped together in a pair of pants.
Big Brother. Seven.
Minee’s friends, sisters Tay and Ari Wilcoxson nominated Bella and Minee voted for her. She was evicted on Monday night’s episode.
During an interview with Chattr, Bella said that she wasn’t aware that some of the girls in the house had a vendetta against her.
“Watching it back and seeing all the girls and how they reacted – I obviously wasn’t aware of that during filming. Now watching is that back in it’s kind of taken me back a little bit. It’s not nice to see that that’s how they were all acting,” she said.
Bella said that she started to first notice the divide when none of her housemates were cheering her to win in the challenge.
She added that she was disappointed that the Tay, Ari and Minee singled her out and targeted her.
“You think that girls are going to support girls and I was just someone who never voted for a girl. You know, never put a girl up. I just supported girls and that’s just not reciprocated. So I think that’s a bit unfortunate.”
Big Brother. Seven.
Bella on what Minee is really like in the house
Bella said that when she first met Minee she initially thought they’d get along well, but found that the Perth model had qualities that she didn’t necessarily align with.
.”I think she’s very full on,” she said. “She just struggled to give any validation. She seeks validation, but can’t give that to anybody else. She’s an interesting one. She’s such a pretty girl, so I can’t I couldn’t understand why she had this jealousy.

This year, The Bachelors 2023 will debut what Wesley Senna Cortes hopes to be Australia’s “favourite Brazilian Bachelor”.
The 33-year-old Brazilian Bach is one of the three leading suitors on the upcoming season.
“It’s a huge honour given what the show means to Australia, but also to represent my culture. It’s not every day that you have such an incredible team helping you find love. I couldn’t be more excited,” he said in an interview with 10Play before the series premiere.
The Bachelors. Ten.
Wesley lost his mum to cancer
Wesley was born and raised in Brazil and struggled when his parents divorced when he was a teenager. After the divorce, his pastor father moved to America, which made it hard for Wes to maintain a strong relationship with him.
Wes sadly lost his mum to breast cancer when she was aged 45. According to Wes’s official Channel 10 bio, his “profound loss left an indelible mark on Wes, strengthening his faith and deepening his appreciation for the importance of love and family.”
After losing his mother, Wesley didn’t talk to his dad for a year, but they started to rebuild their relationship in 2018.
That same year he flew to America to meet his dad’s new fiance and sister and brothers-to-be. While he was there, he officiated the wedding and built a relationship with the new family members.
Even though viewers are often hesitant about reality stars who are actors, with the presumption that their intentions aren’t genuine, Channel 10 still cast Wesley who is an established actor.
During an interview on The Project earlier this year, Wesley said he was a Sales and Marketing Manager, however, he had a profile on the casting website The Right Fit which is used to find acting talent.
His profile said that he was a “model, actor, [and] influencer” with “more than a decade of experience in the creative industry”. The profile has since been removed from their website. His acting rates were $100 per hour and $900 per day.
“Wesley had the privilege to hone his craft through training with industry leaders such as director Kim Farrant and acting coaches Ben Matthews and Michael Sheasby. Having worked in various countries, including Brazil, USA, and Australia, Wesley showcases his diverse range of skills and ability to adapt to different cultures,” his profile reads.
Wesleys Sales and Marketing career
While Wesley has worked as an actor, he’s also a sales and marketing professional.
While there’s not much information available online about where Wesley works, he does have a blog about marketing. The blog is in Portuguese but the posts are loosely related to the industry and one of the posts gives tips about online courses, while another has suggestions about “selling t-shirts”.
What else is known about Wesley?
Wesley is 33 years old and will be a hit with the women looking for tall men, as he’s 6″1′.
He moved to Australia in 2014 and is based in the Eastern Suburbs.
The Bachelors Australia 2023 premieres on December 3 on 10 and 10Play.
It’s episode 6 of Dessert Masters 2023 and the contestants have a serious challenge on their hands as they’re presented with one of Amaury Guichon’s details creations.
It was an immunity challenge and Amaury rolled out his chocolate koala masterpiece and told the contestants that it took him 18 hours to construct. Luckily for them, they didn’t actually have to recreate the piece, they just had to make a “scrumdiddlyumptious” chocolate creation.
Kristin Tibballs is excited about the challenge, given her extensive experience working with chocolate and most of the other contestants seem quite confident.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
The cook
Kay-Lene Tan decided to make a dish with a “chocolate overload” while Gareth Whitton opted for a cake with three different chocolate elements.
Meanwhile, Reynold Poernomo was very nervous because the challenge was different from the other cooks he’d done in the competition. Upon visiting his bench, Amaury seemed concerned when Reynold told him he would “figure it out” as he went.
Meanwhile, Andy Bowdy was also nervous about the task, as his experience with chocolate is mostly “making it disappear while sitting on the couch”.
The Dishes
Kristin was first up and she presented a gorgeous-looking dish called Chocolate and Coffee Caviar.
Melissa Leong said that dish was a “dramatic and beautiful trick of the eye” and Amaury said he “really, really, really liked it”.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Andy’s Sunday Rumday Happy Days dessert was a little less artistically presented, but Amaury said it was “so good” and “a party in your mouth”.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Jess Liemantara‘s dish was called Birds Nest and like the previous two, it scored rave reviews from the two judges.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Anna Polyviou presented Anna’s Mess 2.0, the serving of the dish involved Anna climbing on a ladder and smashing her creation in front of Amaury and Melissa, who were both wearing aprons and safety glasses.
They loved the “fun” of the dish but Amaury said the caramel was a “bit too sweet”.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Kaylene served up a dish called Milo Dinosaur but it didn’t “wow” Melissa the way that she thought it would.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Adriano Zumbo presented a Chocolate Tonka with Blackberry Sauce. Amaury said that the dish was “simpler” than what they were used to seeing him present.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Reynold bought the judges a dish called Ten of the Bean, Amaury said all the elements were “made to perfection” but there was a lack of cohesion.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
Gareth made a Black Forrest Tart with Kirsch and Vanilla Ice Cream. Amaury absolutely loved the dessert and said it was a “banger tart”. Melissa agreed saying it was “perfection”.
Dessert Masters. Ten.
The Verdict
The Queen of Chocolate Kirsten Tidballs and the King of Tarts Gareth were the top two and Kirsten won immunity and will be safe from the next elimination.
Dessert Masters 2023 continues at 7.30 pm, Sunday – Tuesday on 10 and 10Play.

The finale of My Mum Your Dad 2023 saw all four remaining couples receive blessings from the kids during the final Blessing Ceremony.
In case you missed it, Masi and Nadia, Dani and Wes, Bec and Ben, and Simmo and Janine placed the final say into their children’s hands. Brandon, Jake, Harper, Mona, Gracie, Jasmine and Jaxon, “Chook” (Sarah) and Tiarn.
But once the cameras stopped rolling, who made it on the outside.
Here’s who is still together — and we’ve heard it straight from Janine’s mouth!
Janine and Simmo
Janine and Simmo took their time getting to know each other until Simmo took matters into his ahem, own mouth and smooched the hell out of Janine.
Well, we spoke to Janine about their relo and can officially say: they’re donezo! Sorry!
After knowing each other for a total of NINE DAYS (yup, nine whole days), the pair had a SIX-day whirlwind romance before calling time on their relo due to being long-distance.
“He came and stayed for six days. We spent a lot of time together. I showed him all around my local area. We went out to dinner, had coffee. We did a lot.
Janine and Simmo. Nine
“I probably knew on day five, that I wasn’t after a romantic connection with him as such,” Janine told Chattr during an interview before the finale aired.
As for where they stand now?
“We’re good friends. We still communicate regularly. We don’t obviously see each other we’re nine hours apart. So it’s not going to be a romantic connection post-show, but we’ll always remain friends, talking just via texting, basically.”
But that’s not all! Janine has since started dating someone new. Meeting her new beau in August, she’s very happy with where they’re at. The best bit? Tiarne has given a tick of approval!
Dani and Wes
Dani was one of the Mums this year we were crossing our fingers and toes that would find love.
Given that Dani’s husband Paul passed away suddenly, we were hoping that the lightning of love would strike twice — and we’re happy to report it has!
In fact, not to spoil the rest of the story, but they are the ONLY couple still together.
“Everyone else has gone on a different path,” Janine told us. YAY!
Dani and Wes. Nine
Masi and Nadia and Bec and Ben
As we mentioned previously, only Dani and Wes have stood the test of time. That’s nine months and counting!
This means that Masi and Nadia and Bec and Ben have all gone their separate ways. Sad face!
Bluey fans have voted and have officially ranked the top 10 episodes of all time for The Biggest Little Bluey Countdown, to celebrate five years of the cultural phenomenon.
In a win for cricket — off the back of Australia’s win at the ICC World Cup of course — the aptly named Cricket was ranked numero uno on the list.
With only 5.8k votes separating the episode from number two, it’s fair to say that Bluey and Bandit’s neighbour Rusty and his impeccable batting average have captured hearts everywhere. Even more excited would be Anthony Field a.k.a the OG Blue Wiggle who voiced Rusty’s dad.
The episode featured the great Australian pastime of neighbourhood cricket, as the dads struggle to bowl Rusty out. So cute!
“Cricket worked its way into every corner of my life as a kid. It was just always there,” Joe Brumm, Creator/Showrunner of Bluey said in a statement.
“This episode uses cricket of course but it’s representative of whatever sport it is you had growing up that united your family and friends. Some of my favourites made it in there too…”
So, which other episodes made the top 10?

Morgan Hipworth became the second contestant eliminated from Dessert Masters on November 19 and the experience has left him with a newfound “respect” for the home cooks that participate in MasterChef Australia.
Speaking to Chattr after his elimination, the 22-year-old (unbelievable) admitted that being in the coveted kitchen was “intense”.
“To not have much experience in a commercial setting, you’re putting yourself into a very interesting situation, and a very intense situation,” he said. “So, I have a lot of respect for them just to be able to hold their own because they must love food, they must love cooking.”
The renowned “doughnut kid” — who has even set challenges on MasterChef himself — continued: “I think that anyone from the general public who goes on that show, and especially if they perform, I take my hat off to them, that’s for sure.”
Morgan Hipworth on Dessert Masters 2023. Ten
When talking about the major differences between being a judge and actually donning the apron to bake, Hipworth said that Adriano Zumbo was the perfect example of exactly how difficult it is.
“Unless you’ve done it before, like someone like Reynold [Poernomo] and Jess [Liemantara], you don’t know what to expect.
“We’ve got some amazing people with some amazing experience — and much, much more experience than I have — and they’re struggling and they’re making mistakes and things are going wrong.”

What is it like waiting for the verdict?
You may be shocked to hear this but the Dessert Masters contestants have to wait up to six hours between the cook and hearing the final verdict and it was so stressful, that Hipworth decided not to watch the episode back in fear of reliving it.
“I knew what happened,” he joked adding that waiting was punishing.
“It’s a lot of anxiety and a lot of stress after the cook. Until you hear the verdict it’s probably a good five or six hours, so it’s a long time of waiting. Seeing each contestant going in and filming their tasting and waiting for yours. It’s definitely very very stressful, to say the least!”
Morgan Hipworth. Ten
As for the entire experience, he said that the pressure in the kitchen just really speaks to the “nature of” the difficulties.
“It all comes down to the individual cook that you have on the day and that kitchen can really bring out a whole other side of someone or it can bring out their weaknesses. I think it just goes to show that anyone can be at the bottom.”
Dessert Masters 2023 continues at 7.30 pm, Sunday – Tuesday on 10 and 10Play.

The Bachelors Australia 2023 has added another footy player (Nick Cummins #neverforget) to its list of suitors with the addition of Luke Bateman.
According to his official Ten bio, Luke grew up on the land and works as a lumberjack — but don’t be fooled by his occupation because Luke is a big softie at heart.
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m feeling all the first date nerves – dialled up to 11,” he said in an interview with 10Play before the series premiere.
Known to swap the axe for pen and paper to write heartfelt poems (awww), the 28-year-old is looking for a partner who he can “build and share a life with”.
“A genuine person who makes me laugh and wants to start a family.” So sweet!
Here’s everything we know about Luke Bateman
Luke Bateman’s footy career
The 28-year-old athlete hails from Toowoomba, where his football journey began with the Miles Devils. He then showcased his skills by representing the under-20s Queensland team in 2014.
During an interview with Chinchilla News in 2016, he admitted that as a kid, he “cried” when he wasn’t allowed to play, cementing his love of the sport.
“Not many kids from out there make it to this level so I suppose in a way it’s pretty pleasing to make it where I have,” he added.
Luke Bateman. Instagram
From 2013 to 2015, he played for the Canberra Raiders’ NYC team, even captaining the side in 2014 and 2015.
In 2015, he was selected in the Raiders 2015 Auckland Nines squad before making his NRL debut for the Canberra Raiders against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
In 2017, he scored his first career NRL try against the South Sydney Rabbitohs and in May 2018, the footy player extended his contract with Canberra to the end of the 2019 season. However, a knee injury saw him exit the code and he wasn’t able to play.
Controversy between Luke Bateman and Mitchell Moses
On May 3, 2014, when Luke was playing for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team, he was sledged by halfback Mitchell Moses, who called him a ‘’fu–ing gay c–t’’.
The derogatory comment was heard by the live TV audience, resulting in Mitchell being slapped with a two-match suspension. Charming.

Luke’s forestry career
After Luke’s injury and during the COVID pandemic, footy players were forced to find other work in lieu of game time, with Luke deciding to travel up to Queensland to work alongside his stepfather in forestry.
During that time, he swapped his boots for an axe, chopping wood and working with forestry machines.
“When the competition shut down my stepfather rang me and said ‘You have a job with me if you want it’ so I got to Brisbane before the borders closed off and went to work with him,” he told About Regional at the time.
“I had never done this sort of work before, especially seeing that it’s eight hours west of Brisbane, but it’s been a good learning curve and has made me appreciate footy even more.”
Luke Bateman. Instagram.
What else do we know about Luke?
Luke was born on January 23 1995, which makes him an Aquarius. He’s also what we call a BFG (big friendly giant), standing at 1.82m tall!
After a quick Insta stalk, it looks like he has two siblings, a brother John — who is also a footy player — and a sister, Sarah.

The Bachelors Australia 2023 premieres on December 3 on 10 and 10Play.
It’s episode five of Dessert Masters 2023 and one incredible pastry chef was sent home after the season’s only Mystery Box challenge.
Usually, a mystery box offers freedom to experiment, but today’s challenge resulted in the competition’s second elimination.
The contestants were faced with something the series had never seen, an ice box with beetroot, red chilli, rosella and berry liqueur frozen inside.
Each chef had two hours to create a dessert that featured their chosen ingredient as a frozen element of the dish.
Dessert Master’s Ice Box Challenge. Ten
AnnaPolyviou, Reynold Poernomo and Andy Bowdy were safe from elimination after winning immunity in the relay challenge, leaving KirstenTibballs, Kay-Lene Tan, Jess Liementara, Gareth Whitton, Adriano Zumbo and Morgan Hipworth to battle the cold.
Here’s everything that happened!
The Creations
Kay-Lene Tan
Kay-Lene gave it her all during the challenge.
She took a significant gamble, boldly opting to incorporate three mystery box ingredients, including the fiery chilli as recommended by Amaury.
The resulting dish intrigued Mel with its harmonious flavours and Amaury said it was fresh, clean and very well-balanced.
Kay-Lene’s dessert. Ten
Adriano Zumbo
Adriano crafted a flavour profile consisting of beetroot, raspberry, and… popcorn, drawing inspiration from the concept of movies for his dish.
Despite appearing composed during his cook, Amaury expressed doubts about the clarity of his vision.
Although visually appealing, Adriano’s dish failed to meet the judges’ standards in terms of taste. While it was praised for its ambitious concept, the flavours did not deliver.
Adriano’s dish. Ten
Gareth Whitton
Gareth opted for beetroot as his key ingredient and created a daring and harmonious ice cream. Despite juggling multiple elements and concerns about whether he’d be able to present a complete dish; his determination culminated in a dessert that captivated the judges.
During the critique, Amaury praised the dish’s captivating colour and exquisite presentation, while Mel acknowledged its undeniable sophistication. The fusion of the earthy ice cream with the complementary elements flawlessly showcased the beetroot, impressing both judges.
Gareth’s dessert. Ten
Morgan Hipworth
Undeterred by the challenge — even frozen wasn’t his strength — Morgan opted to present a unique twist on a Peach Melba by infusing it with a berry liqueur sorbet.
Although the judges raised concerns about the adherence to the criteria due to having only one frozen element, Morgan believed in the boldness of his creation.
Unfortunately, his confidence waned when the sorbet failed to set as anticipated.
Upon judging, the sorbet’s texture fell short of his expectations, and the overpowering essence of the berry liquor failed to harmonize with the delicate peach flavour.
The Block’s Leah and Ash are the only team who haven’t sold their house yet, and if nearby houses are an indication of their sale price, they may not meet their reserve.
A beautiful four-bedroom, one-bathroom house on Charming Street, where The Block houses are, is listed on Domain.com for just $2,090,000. While the price might not seem cheap, it’s certainly a lot below Leah and Ash’s reserve, which is $2,970,000.
The (other) Charming Street house is set on approximately 780 sqm of established gardens and is full of natural light. Leah and Ash’s land is around the same size and has an extra bedroom, however, the reserve is almost a million dollars more.
It’s also important to note that the (other) Charming Street house hasn’t sold yet, even with the listing price of $2,970,000.
Is Leah and Ash’s The Block house still on the market?
It is, and Dave ‘Hughesey’ Hughes confirmed earlier this week that it hadn’t yet sold.
The TV personality, who attended the 2023The Block auctions, joined the breakfast show, Fifi, Fev & Nick to give an update about Leah and Ash’s house.
“I got a text two days ago from the couple who built that house, it is still for sale and they said, ‘When is your wife coming through?’ so I said, ‘I’m not sure,’ that house is still for sale!” He told the hosts.

How much did the other contestants’ houses sell for?
The other four The Block houses sold at auction, with all of the teams taking home some profit.
Steph and Gian were the clear winners, taking home a profit of $1,650,000 plus $100,000 prize money. They were followed by Eliza and Liberty who left the show with just over a million dollars.

Then, on Thursday, November 16, he was found guilty of committing 43 sexual offences against 11 children during his time as a swim coach in Sydney.
During the ruling, Judge Sarah Huggett pronounced the judgement, concluding a lengthy legal process of more than four years since Frost’s arrest.
Taking into account the gravity and duration of Frost’s crimes — which spanned over a decade and victimising children as young as 10 — Judge Huggett handed down a maximum sentence of 32 years.

According to the Daily Mail Australia, the Judge highlighted the “escalating gravity and brazenness” of the offences, saying that Frost moved from one victim to the next at will.
The majority of the offences took place at his swimming school in southwest Sydney, across different areas such as the change rooms, kickboard rooms, the pool, and the deck.
According to News.com.au, testimonies from victims detailed Frost’s “manipulation, encouraging explicit discussions about sex and masturbation, which eventually led to inappropriate physical contact” and swore his victims to secrecy.
Judge Huggett described Frost’s actions as “opportunistic, impulsive, and spontaneous”, fostering an atmosphere that normalised explicit discussions.
Paul Frost’s lack of remorse
Judge Huggett also noted that Frost’s lack of remorse for his actions was evident, disregarding character witnesses that depicted him as a defender of minors.
“There is no evidence that would permit me to find on balance that he is contrite or remorseful,” she said

Appearing via audiovisual link from Shortland Correctional Centre, Frost expressed little response to the sentencing.
Following his arrest in 2019, he was dismissed from his positions at the University of NSW and Malabar Public School and was subsequently incarcerated.
Frost’s anticipated release date is set for June 3, 2047, and he is currently under protective custody due to an assault that occurred in July at the Correctional Centre.
When Lucinda Strafford strutted into the Love Island Australia 2023 villa as a bombshell, the men of the house were mesmerised.
It was New Zealander Zac Nunns who managed to snag her at the recoupling ceremony, and the lovebirds have been a relatively strong couple on the season so far.
Like last year, Love Island Australia 2023 wasn’t filmed live, which means the season has already wrapped, and a delayed broadcast is being played out on screens.
Which brings us to the question of whether Zac and Lucinda are still together?
Love Island Australia. Nine.
So… are they together?
Apparently so! Daily Mail reported that Zac flew to the UK to be with Lucinda, and is staying with her at her home in Brighton.
The loved-up couple were also papped sharing a romantic dinner at the London restaurant SHEESH in Piccadilly. The couple can be seen macking on in the pics, which you can see here.
A source told the publication that Lucinda is “besotted” with Zac.
“When Lucinda signed up for Australian Love Island, she didn’t think she would leave the show with somebody like Zac. He ticks at the right boxes and she’s besotted,” the insider said.
They continued, “Obviously there is a huge distance between the pair but Zac is keen to make things work and moving to the UK has been mooted.
“They’re going to see how things pan out but it’s very much a case of ‘watch this space.”

Lucinda has been on Love Island before
The British beauty starred on the UK iteration of the show in 2021. She entered the villa as a bombshell on day nine. During her time on the show, she coupled with Brad McClelland, Danny Bibby and Aaron Francis.
Love Island Australia Season 5 episodes drop daily from Monday to Thursday at 6pm AEDT, exclusively on 9Now and airs at 8.30 pm on Nine.
It’s episode 4 of Dessert Masters 2023 and the contestants are confused when they walk into a suspiciously rearranged kitchen.
Of course, it’s because it’s the Team Relay challenge!
Some of the contestants look excited while others look, well, terrified – as they should be because the MasterChef variation of the Team Relay challenge is normally an absolute fustercluck.
The teams are picked via a lucky dip and the teams are Kay-Lene Tan, Gareth Whitton and Morgan Hipworth on the blue team, Andy Bowdy, Reynold Poernomo and Anna Polyviou on the green team and Jess Liemantara, Kirsten Tibballs and Adriano Zumbo on the orange team.

In a Team Relay, each team member will pick up where the last chef left off, and one final dish per team will be produced.
The Challenge
Judge Amaury Guichon told the contestants that maple syrup is the star ingredient of the day and that it must be evident in their dishes.
Anna, Adriano and Gareth were the first representatives from each team.
Gareth decided on a maple cake with pumpkin cremo, brown butter mousse and candied pecans.
Anna started on a Passionfruit curd and passionfruit maple caramel. Meanwhile, Adriano was “freestyling” and made a grapefruit strawberry yoghurt pecan and maple with a sponge. His goal was to create elements that the rest of the team could use to make a dish.
Next up were Kaylene, Jess and Andy, who were quickly explained the concept of the dish by their first teammate.

Jess was confused about the start that Adriano had made, while Kaylene was nervous about Gareth’s choice of entremet, which is a complex mousse cake. Andy was happy with what Anna left him, aside from the fact that she forgot the tasting spoons.
Kaylene put maple on top of the cake slivers, which seemed to really annoy Gareth. “She’s drowning it in maple syrup,” he exclaimed. “It’s going to go soggy.”
Kristen, Morgan and Reynold were up for the final leg.
The orange team appeared to still not have completely defined their dish, so Kirsten decided to make a maple syrup brownie.
Morgan was also confused, and said that he needed more instructions at the handover.
Reynold was excited about what’s been made so far and said that he thinks he can work with it. However, he forgot to take Andy’s chocolate crumb out of the oven.

The dishes and judging
The orange team presented their dish Turning Autumn, which was a Chocolate Brownie with Grapefruit and Strawberry.
Melissa Leong called it a “maximalist dessert” and said every single element was “beautifully crafted”. However, she’s concerned that there are too many elements. Amaury agreed, saying that it was not “cohesive” enough and called it a “beautiful mess”.

The blue team made a PMP, which was a Pumpkin and Pecan Entremet with Smoked Vanilla Icecream.
Amaury said he “really liked” the dish and that it was “very cohesive. Melissa seconded his opinion and raved about the dish.

The green team dished up a dessert called Textures of Maple and Passionfruit which was a Maple Cake with Passionfruit Curd.
“As a professional, knowing the intricacy of the task, it’s unbelievable,” Amaury told Anna, Andy and Reynold. “It’s really unified, it’s really cohesive,” Melissa added.

The Verdict
Unsurprisingly, given the results, the green team won and Anna, Andy and Reynold will be up on the gantry, safe from the next elimination challenge.

The long-awaited night of nights for the Australian music industry – otherwise known as the 2023 ARIA Awards – has taken place, and there were a few artists who probably needed help carrying all their gongs home.
Amongst the biggest winners of the night was Troye Sivan who took home four trophies, and Genesis Owusu, who scored three. Both G Flip and Forest Claudette won two each.
Check out the full list of winners from the 2023 ARIA Awards below. The winners are bolded and underlined in their catergories.
The nominations are in for the 2023 ARIA Awards, and as always, most of the best names in the music biz are in the mix.
G Flip, Matt Corby and Genesis Owusu are a few of the musicians in the running for the Album of the Year while Budjerah, Kylie Minogue and Meg Mac are three of the ten names battling it out for the Best Solo Artist award.
In fact, Kylie has four nominations – and if she were to win any of them, it would be her first in two decades. Her last ARIA win was in 2002 for Fever as the Best Pop Release and Highest Selling Album. The same year she also took home Highest Selling Single and Single of the Year for Can’t Get You Out of My Head.
