Robby and Mat tease that The Block 2025 will have “different” drama from recent seasons

The Block is back for 2025 with five new teams ready to build from the ground up, with no shortage of drama in sight — but it’s going to be different from recent years.

Sonny and Alicia, Robby and Mat, Han and Can, Britt and Taz, and Em and Ben round out the Block cast for 2025. While it’s still too early to call who’ll be stirring the pot this year, Robby and Mat have teased that fans should buckle up for a drama-filled season. However, the long-time besties told Chattr that viewers can expect a more wholesome type of drama in comparison to recent years.

“This year’s different to other years, last year and the year before; there’s been some pretty nasty people on the show, and I think they cast very well this year,” Robby explained. “I guess it is a competition at the end of the day, and it’s all happy families, until probably week five or six, when the competition stiffens up and one team does really well.”

However, Mat clarified that while the drama isn’t as nasty as in past seasons, there will still be a lot of juicy content.

“There’s not drama that is intentional or malicious or mean,” he explained. “The only drama you will see is people fighting for fairness. So if they think something is unfair, that is the only time that you’ll see someone get their back up. It will never be to put someone down or to drag someone through the mud or to make somebody’s day not good.”

Mat and Robby made a conscious effort to prioritise their friendship during filming

Competing on The Block is no walk in the park—the high-pressure experience stretches over roughly three months. In previous seasons, viewers have seen friendships crack and relationship breakdowns. Knowing this, Mat and Robby told Chattr that they went into the experience with a plan to ensure they prioritised their friendship above all else.

“I guess we’re very proud of saying now, we’ve come off this huge 12 – 13 weeks away, and we had the best time, and we laughed hard, and we’re still friends now,” Robby said.

“The main thing we said is, like number one, we can’t let it come between our friendship. Yeah. And number two, we have to laugh every day, and we laughed until we cried every day,” Mat added.

The Block premieres on July 27 on Channel 9 and 9Now.

New MasterChef Sri Lanka judge Sav Perera shares invaluable advice from Poh

Two-time MasterChef Australia contestant Sav Perera has landed the coveted role of a judge on MasterChef Sri Lanka, and she’s shared the invaluable advice the current MasterChef Australia judges shared with her ahead of the new gig.

Sav will be heading up the judges panel alongside by Rohan Fernandopulle, Kapila Jayasinghe and Australian chef Peter Kuruvita for the franchise’s Sri Lankan debut.

While Sav has been passionate about cooking since she was a child, she first appeared on MasterChef Australia in 2024, and placed third. She returned for MasterChef Australia: Back to Win in 2025.

Speaking of her new role, she told Chattr that it took her some time to accept that she was deserving of the influential position, and turned to the MasterChef Australia judges for advice.

“I think the first initial reaction was disbelief, and I think I also had a fair bit of sort of imposter syndrome kick in, which I think is normal. I’ve spoken to Poh [Ling Yeow] about it, and she felt the same way when she was asked. So I think that’s a pretty normal thing to feel,” she explained.

“I felt that it hadn’t been a long time since I’d been out of the [MasterChef Australia] kitchen, so that definitely played into it. But, the more I thought about it, the more I realised that I’m actually positioned quite well to be a judge, because the other three judges are all veteran, trained, professional chefs. I’m the only person who’s gone through the process on that panel, and obviously, I’m from the culture.

“I understand the food really well, the culture really well, and I speak the languages. So I think the more I dwell on it, the more I realise that this is a really unique opportunity for me to showcase Sri Lankan talent to the world.”

What advice did the MasterChef Australia judges give Sav ahead of her judging role?

MasterChef Sri Lanka will be Sav’s first experience as a judge, so naturally, she turned to the MasterChef Australia judges, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Andy Allen, Sofia Levine and Poh for advice.

“All four of them have been incredibly supportive,” Sav told Chattr. “When I broke the news to them, Jean-Christophe actually shed a little tear because he was so proud. He was like, ‘You guys are like my kids,’ especially because we were on his first season.”

Jean Christophe with Sumeet and Sav on MasterChef Australia 2024.

Sav said that Poh told her that her experience on MasterChef Australia as a contestant gives her a huge insight into what the MasterChef Sri Lanka contestants will be going through during the competition.

“I do speak to Poh quite often. I keep in touch with her quite a bit, because she’s also here in Adelaide. I think the most helpful thing that she reminded me time and time again is that when you’ve been a contestant, you never forget that you have been on that side of the bench, and that’s the greatest asset that you have as a judge.”

Meanwhile, Sav said that Sofia gave her more practical advice when it comes to judging the contestants’ dishes on MasterChef Sri Lanka.

“Sofia was really handy, because she said, ‘Don’t ever judge on an empty stomach’. And that has been incredible advice for her to share.

“The main thing is not to taste test on an empty stomach, because if you’re hungry, even the most mediocre tasting thing might taste really good.”

Bridgerton’s Bessie Carter doesn’t listen to the nepo baby discourse: ‘I back myself’

The world can’t stop talking about nepo babies. With the likes of Hailey Bieber, Lily-Rose Depp, Jack Quaid and Gracie Abrams constantly in the news cycle, it’s hard not to wonder about the benefit of having extremely famous parents (like Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid) can do for your career.

British star Bessie Carter is slowly building a name for herself, with credits in Bridgerton, I Hate Suzie, and as the titular role in Outrageous. She also happens to be a nepo baby, as her parents are Downton Abbey’s Jim Carter and Imelda Staunton. While Bessie has seemingly used her parents’ connections in the past — all three actors were in a BBC series Cranford together — she’s quite protective of owning her career and forging a path for herself.

With Outrageous, which is coming to BritBox in Australia, Bessie plays Nancy Mitford. It’s based on a real story of the Mitford sisters, who were infamous for breaking aristocratic rules. Set in 1930, the show takes us into British high society, with delicious scandals, betrayals, love and heartache. The actor tells Chattr she landed this role on her own, not through her famous parents.

“I’m gonna take all of the credit, because [my mum] did not help me get the part, but she did help me learn my lines, which, if that counts, then it counts,” Bessie recalls. “I was staying at my parents’ house [while doing a show and] I got the audition through… so I was like, ‘Mum, will you help me?’ And she helped me learn my lines.

“I sort of thought, I might get this one. She was like, ‘Yeah, you could. It sounds like you’… and then I went off to the audition, and then got it. I got the job.”

When we delicately ask Bessie about the nepotism discourse, she admits it’s not something she had really thought about, as she considered her parents’ work as actors simply a job, rather than a glamorous Hollywood-esque life. “I’m trying to work out how best to answer these questions, because obviously, being asked them a fair amount at the moment, and it’s something that I’ve never really consciously thought about,” she explains.

“I grew up with my parents being quite job actors. They’d be in work and out of work, and you know, it was a very normal career. And then obviously, with Vera Drake… and then Harry Potter [and] Downton Abbey, I suppose the attention on them grew a bit. [But for me], nothing really changed.”

Outrageous Bessie Carter

However, Bessie concedes that seeing her parents be so successful in their chosen field meant she wasn’t afraid to give it a go. Having the confidence to chase after her dreams and knowing you have a safety blanket is something many people don’t necessarily have. With others chasing financial security or trying to escape unstable environments, it’s definitely a luxury.

“I suppose I grew up knowing that it could be a job that was viable. So I suppose that maybe gave me a confidence that I could do it, and it was just the thing that I loved the most,” Bessie says. “When I got into Guildhall, which was my drama school, that felt very good, because that was a drama school that was mine, like my mum had gone to RADA, my Dad had done a very alternative route, so it felt like the beginning of my own path.”

As with most nepo babies, Bessie wants to separate herself from her famous parents, yet she is currently starring in a play alongside her mother called Mrs Warren’s Profession. “I suppose there is something in me that you know, is keen to be seen as an actor in my own right,” she says. “I do feel like, I think I wouldn’t have been able to do the play that I’m doing with my mum right now if I felt in any way that people would think, ‘Oh god, okay. I wonder how she got that then’.

“I’m prepared to take that risk, because I believe in my own career, and I back myself. So I sort of don’t mind if people [judge because] they [my parents] are just very normal. It just sort of didn’t feel odd or weird [for me to start acting… it was just kind of like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna do this.’ And they were thrilled.”

We can’t wait to see Bessie smash her role in Outrageous, and see what she does next. She’s definitely a talent to watch, regardless of who her parents are.

Outrageous premieres on BritBox in Australia on July 26.

Fans react to Laura winning another MasterChef Immunity Challenge: ‘Judges were totally wrong’

Third time MasterChef Australia returnee Laura Sharrad took out her seventh win during the Immunity Challenge that aired on July 23, narrowly beating out Depinder Chhiber and Sarah Todd.

After winning Immunity in the previous episode, Callum Hann was immune from the challenge, and the remaining five contestants were given a letter from home and asked to cook something that offered the judges a glimpse into their lives beyond the kitchen.

After receiving a letter from her husband Max, Laura drew inspiration from a recent trip to the Northern Territory with him and their daughter. She whipped up an aesthetically pleasing dish called Native Australian Summer, which consisted of wattleseed rough puff pastry, cinnamon myrtle crème pâtissière, muntries cooked in apple caramel, smoked paperbark-flavoured ice cream, and green ants.

While the judges were clearly blown away by her creation, her biggest competition was Depinder, who dished up her take on a Sadya, a traditional Indian feast served on a banana leaf, after being inspired by a trip she took to Kerala with her family.

Despite the judges’ enthusiastic feedback about Depinder’s dish, Laura was awarded immunity, and some social media users vented only that they felt that Depinder should have won.

Some social media users claim Depinder should have won

It’s no secret that Laura has gotten extensive airtime on MasterChef Australia 2025, which is likely connected to the seriously impressive dishes she’s been producing all season long.

However, some fans took issue with Laura winning again, and claimed that Depinder deserved to score Immunity in the round, with some going as far to claim that the show is “rigged”.

“Why do I punish myself watching MasterChef!! I would love Depinder to win.. but it seems to me that the “judges” have decided that Callum or Laura will win. Decided before the show began,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“This season of MasterChef Australia would have been more interesting if right from episode 1 it wasn’t obvious that this is just a redemption story for Laura,” another user agreed.

Over on Reddit, many fans had the same sentiment, and were disappointed that Depinder didn’t get her flowers, with one writing that she was robbed, and another stating, “Should have been Depinder!!!”

“So Depinder cooks this brilliant dish in record time, Sarah kicks arse with ingenuity again but green ants win? Rightio,” a third posted.

A fourth person penned: “Oh man, I am gutted for Depinder. Two show stopping cooks in a row but still narrowly missing out on immunity.”

Depinder also had fans on Facebook rallying behind her, believing she was more deserving of the win.

“Depinder put so much effort and love in her dishes, they were perfect. I think the judges were totally wrong choosing Laura,” they wrote.

MasterChef Australia fans defend Laura

Some users took to social media to call out the criticism Laura has received from fans over her multiple wins and generous air time, saying she deserves it.

“People who post nonstop hatred toward Laura don’t realise how toxic they’re being. Imagine you were on MC AU putting in hard work week after week just for people to trash you no matter what you did just because they didn’t like you,” one Reddit user mused.

“Congratulations to Laura. I thought it was a very well-considered, concise dish and presentation,” another wrote. “Every flavour, temperature and texture on Laura’s dish seemed to have a clear purpose. It’s a very good example of ‘less is more.'”

Over on Facebook, a fan speculated that the editors of the show are purposely trying to confuse viewers about who will win the season.

“Is Masterchef deliberately trying to showcase stuff which is controversial? Like they knew what they were doing leading everyone to believe Depinder is winning then not give it to her, the editing is clearly making it more controversial than it might be. Looks like they’re going down the reality TV route where they purposely want fans annoyed so it boosts their engagement rates,” they wrote.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sunday at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette shares how Thomas supported her through ‘horrific’ hate train

Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 may be over, but Clarette Goodhead is still dealing with the aftermath. Due to a ‘villain’ edit, viewers turned on Clarette and Farmer Thomas Freeth, sending the FWAW contestant vicious hate messages and comments while the show was airing.

Just like Farmer Todd Melbourne supported ‘villain’ Daisy Lamb during Farmer Wants A Wife 2024, Thomas was there for Clarette while she navigated their new normal.

“Thomas’ support was amazing, he helped me so much, he helped me gain perspective and to keep grounded in what was real and what wasn’t,” Clarette tells Chattr. “The airing of the show was horrific. I’ve never received so much hate from people that don’t even know me.”

Due to some carefully edited sequences and pointed voice-overs, the Farmer Wants A Wife contestant was painted as “jealous”, “insecure”, and “needy”, when in reality, she was simply a woman falling in love in the most unorthodox way.

“I can understand why viewers felt the way that they did, if I was watching it and I didn’t know me, I would feel exactly the same. But I would never watch a show and then go online and talk negatively about someone I didn’t know. I didn’t realise people would care so much about a TV show thinking it’s all real and in live time, when it [was filmed] eight months ago,” she adds.

“My family and friends were also affected. They couldn’t understand why this was happening to me and why I was the scapegoat, when Thomas and I were so happy together.”

Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 Clarette Goodhead and Thomas Freeth
Clarette and Thomas have only grown closer since the show aired. Image: Instagram

At this point, Clarette was the only Lady who had moved to be with the farmer at this point, and production knew this. If they wanted to sell a love story, Clarette and Thomas’ would be the obvious one.

“My friends and family were defending me, but I was upset that they felt the need to do that. I’ve never had to justify my character before, so to do it now felt so wrong, especially when it wasn’t my fault,” she says. “I then had to get up every morning and go to work and put on a brave face for the teenagers that I teach, knowing that staff, students, and parents were all watching it at home.”

Have Clarette and Thomas come out stronger after FWAW?

After going through a tough time together, Clarette and Thomas have been showing snippets of their life post Farmer Wants A Wife on social media. They’ve taken holidays, caught up with friends from the show, and been having date nights on the farm. It looks like they’re in it for the long haul.

Clarette calls Thomas her “main support person”, which is really sweet. This is what reclaiming the narrative looks like!

“I think we’ve both seen and the whole of Australia have seen that we’re not made to be in front of the cameras. Thomas is very uncomfortable wording things with the pressure of the cameras,” Clarette admits. “Our relationship has definitely strengthened, Tom is my main support person in my new home and we’ve gone through this unique situation that will bond us forever.

“We’ve relied on each other a lot throughout the whole process.”

It’s nice to see a wholesome Farmer Wants A Wife love story emerge out of the drama-filled season, even if it wasn’t portrayed that way.

You can watch Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

The biggest lessons Mike learnt from Stranded on Honeymoon Island

Mike Dawes entered Stranded on Honeymoon Island as one of the season’s most controversial contestants, after his on-screen wife Amy Dickson accused him of being “misogynistic”. But by Episode 9, he made a selfless move — choosing to walk away from the experiment to give Amy a second chance at love.

Mike told Chattr that while he didn’t find his person on the reality TV show, he did learn a lot of home truths about himself, which helped him grow.

“My biggest flaw when I look back [to when the show was filmed], is that I’ve met some amazing women [in the past] who I probably should have wifed up, and I always just used to find faults, like something’s not right, or something’s not there, and it’s a bad habit get into,” he explained.

“When I was with Amy — if I had the option, I would have left day one when I just realised this is not someone I’d go for. But, being forced into a situation where you dramatically have to self-evaluate to be able to coincide with somebody. That is the key thing that I took from that whole situation. Because I’m not always right.”

Mike pointed out the flaws that he recognised in himself after spending time with Amy on the remote island and said that he’s found love since making an effort to improve them.

“I can be picky and stubborn and whatnot, and my way is not always the right way. So you have got to soften yourself sometimes to be able to open your heart up for someone. That sounds so fucking cheesy.

“But, that’s how I felt. And honestly, Amy, at that point, was the catalyst for change, to turn into the man that I always knew that I wanted to be, and since then, I’ve found the perfect partner.”

Mike is in a new relationship after filming Stranded on Honeymoon Island

Stranded on Honeymoon Island was filmed back in 2023, and any relationships that the contestants have gotten in post-show they’ve had to keep under wraps, to avoid spoiling the ending.

Now that Mike’s departure from the show has aired, he can share that he’s been in a new relationship for the past three months.

He told Chattr that his girlfriend is a private person, so he didn’t want to share her name, but confirmed that they are happily in love.

“I’ve never had a woman that has put me in my place so softly, and makes me want to be a better man every day,” he said.

“Every single time we see each other, we have a childhood-like banter and that childhood-like love, but it comes with a very big spiritual side, because she’s like, she does a lot of energy work.

“I reckon I’ve really come into my own lately — I’m more driven and motivated across the board: work, relationships, friends, family, all of it. Over the past three months, I’ve probably been the most focused I’ve ever been in my life.”

Stranded On Honeymoon Island airs Tuesdays at 8:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Australian Survivor winner Myles Kuah asked to join the Australia v The World cast: ‘I’ll do it’

Myles Kuah‘s Australian Survivor 2025 win was one of the most satisfying in the show’s history; against all odds, the scheming, fan-favourite underdog managed to triumph. Unfortunately for Myles, the upcoming Survivor: Australia v The World season was filmed directly after his Brains v Brawn II instalment, meaning he missed the chance to be considered for the all-star edition.

Survivor: Australia v The World had wrapped filming by the time Brain v Brawn II aired, and the first promo was screened during Myles’ season finale.

In a post-win interview, Myles told Chattr that he’d heard about the all-star season, and called production immediately after he’d finished filming and asked if he could take part.

“I was sad. When I got out of the game, I literally texted [production]. I’m like, ‘Hey, I know that I am 58 kilos and start dying of starvation’, but if you, if you want me to just jump back in there, I’ll do it,” he asid.

Of course, if Myles was included in the Survivor: Australia v The World cast, it would have been a pretty solid indicator that he’d gone far in his season.

Who is Myles excited to see on Survivor: Australia v The World?

While Myles was presented as a Survivor superfan during his season, he told Chattr that he actually binged most of the seasons in recent years.

“I’m actually not as big of a fan as a lot of people think I am. I only got into it a couple of years ago, but the way that I enjoy things is I get a very intense level of interest,” he said.

Myles added that he’s looking forward to seeing Sarah Tileke compete, who came 8th on Australian Survivor 2017, which is largely considered the best season by dedicated Survivor superfans.

“I love Sarah Tileke,” he told Chattr. “Survivor 2017 was my first Survivor season I ever watched and the Asaga Four are one of my favourite alliances ever. So, to see Sarah Tileke play again is so cool.”

Survivor: Australia v the world cast
Survivor: Australia v the World cast. Image: Ten.

While Myles listed a few Australian Survivor plays he’s excited to see compete, he told Chattr that he believes the international team will be one to watch.

“I’m super excited for Rob Bentele. I’m a big Survivor South Africa fan. And so to see the South Africa representation is awesome. I’d love to see some of the other South African players play more as well.

“And just seeing David Genat, seeing Shonee [Bowtell], seeing George [Mladenov], seeing bloody Parvati [Shallow] and Tony [Vlachos], and seeing some of these fracked up international players; that world tribe, is absolutely stacked. It’s ridiculous.

“Like Cirie [Fields], I’m pretty sure, is the lowest placing player there, at third place or something. It’s all just like crazy, insane players, so I’m stoked for that.”

So are we, Myles, so are we! Bring on Survivor: Australia v The World already.

Survivor: Australia v The World premieres on August 17 on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Who left Stranded on Honeymoon Island?

Stranded on Honeymoon Island is Channel 7’s bold new reality show where six newly matched couples are married off and dropped on remote islands to test their connections.

The cast met for the first time during a speed dating round, which aired in episode 1. At the event they gave producers a list of the partners they wanted to be paired up with for the experiment; however, the final choices were ultimately out of the participants’ hands.

Unsurprisingly, everything did not go smoothly when the couples were shipped off to their islands, and drama exploded between a fair few of the couples.

Midway through the season, the participants were offered an escape route: an orange box containing a flare. They were told that if they chose to launch it, both their journey and their partner’s would come to an end on the show.

So, who has stuck it out and who’s decided to call it quits? Read on to find out.

Who has left Stranded on Honeymoon Island so far?

Mike

Mike and his partner Amy formed a strong friendship on Stranded on Honeymoon Island, but their bond never quite turned romantic.

Unlike the other couples, Mike’s flare option came with a twist — if he chose to pull it, he’d leave the experiment, but a new partner would be brought in for Amy.

In the end, the reality star made the selfless decision to pull the flare, and Haydn was shipped into the experiment. Mike told Chattr that he had Amy’s best interests at heart when he made his choice.

“I [thought I] might as well just give her what she wants, so that at least one of us can find something out of this. It was really only for her,” Mike said.

“I was a bit sad,” he continued. “The whole purpose was to look for love, and if one of us gets the opportunity to give the other one [that], I would have hoped, if it were vice versa, she would have done the same thing.

Tom and Emily

Much to Emily’s delight, she was matched with her first pick from the speed dating round, Tom, in Episode 1. However, the excitement wasn’t mutual, with Tom admitting that he felt no spark during their wedding kiss.

Shortly after, Tom told Emily he had a girl waiting for him on the outside. But when Emily shared his shady secret with the other contestants, he quickly backtracked, claiming he made it up as an excuse because he didn’t want to pursue a romantic connection with her.

While on the show, Emily wasn’t sure whether to believe Tom, but she decided to pull the flare during Episode 7 anyway.

“I just did not see going anywhere other than a friendship. I think at that point, it was that trigger of, I had to take in everything I’ve heard. And, I’ve heard that there is a girl on the outside,” she told Chattr of her decision.

“I didn’t want to be someone’s second option. So it was that final straw, [I thought] I’m doing this for me, and I’ll find my person who thinks I’m number one.”

Her choice meant that her and Tom’s time on the Fijian island was over.

“It was probably one of the proudest moments I’ve had for myself. It was extremely emotional, but I wasn’t going to keep fighting for someone who’s never going to fight,” she said.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island airs on Tuesdays on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island’s Mike on why he was sad to pull the flare, and his new relationship

Stranded on Honeymoon Island Episode 9 saw Mike Dawes make the bold decision to pull a flare, giving his partner Amy Dickson a fresh chance at love with a new arrival.

While Amy and Mike butted heads at the beginning of the season, they built up a strong friendship over their time on the remote Fijian island together.

Mike told Chattr when he was given the option to pull the flare, which meant a new match would be bought in for Amy, he was primarily thinking about what was best for her.

“I [thought I] might as well just give her what she wants, so that at least one of us can find something out of this. It was really only for her,” Mike told Chattr of his decision.

“I was a bit sad,” he continued. “The whole purpose was to look for love, and if one of us gets the opportunity to give the other one [that], I would have hoped, if it were vice versa, she would have done the same thing.

However, Mike said that while it was his decision to leave the island, he wished that things had turned out differently at the time.

“Amy and I have a really funny relationship. It’s like a love-hate relationship. And it started off, obviously, pretty hardcore, and it grew into a much more respectful relationship. There were lots of moments where I actually thought, ‘Oh, man, maybe there is something there.'”

“I was upset [when I pulled the flare],” he continued. “As I was going through the whole process of this crazy experience, I was like, ‘Man, what a cool kickstart of life, if you found the one’. And so when I had a choice to make, I was disappointed that I didn’t get to find the person that I was meant to be with, but I was proud of myself that I was like, ‘You know what, if I can’t find what I’m looking for, I can have the opportunity to give love to somebody else’. It’s a pretty cool feeling in itself.”

Unfortunately for him, Mike drew the short straw, as he was sent packing without being offered a replacement partner on the island.

“When I was there and I did it, I was gutted. It was like, ‘Oh man, I just went through this amazing experience, and I didn’t get anything out of it in the end.’ That was a little disheartening. I would’ve loved the opportunity to have someone else out there — someone I could’ve tried to finish it off with.”

Stranded on Honeymoon Island’s Mike has a new girlfriend

It’s been nearly two years since the Stranded on Honeymoon Island cast filmed the show, and Mike has found love! He told Chattr he’s been in a relationship for about three months, after he and his now-girlfriend ended up sharing a house before things turned romantic.

The reality star revealed that he and his girlfriend, who is a private person and doesn’t want to be named, have said ‘I love you’ “many, many times.”

“I’ve never had a woman that has put me in my place so softly, and makes me want to be a better man every day,” he said.

“Every single time we see each other, we have a childhood-like banter and that childhood-like love, but it comes with a very big spiritual side, because she’s like, she does a lot of energy work.”

“I reckon I’ve really come into my own lately — I’m more driven and motivated across the board: work, relationships, friends, family, all of it. Over the past three months, I’ve probably been the most focused I’ve ever been in my life,” he added.

Are Stranded on Honeymoon Island’s Mike and Amy still friends?

When Mike told Amy that he’d pulled the flare so that she could have a chance at finding her best match, she was extremely grateful. So, are they still friends now?

Mike said he and Amy were friendly post-show, but lost touch shortly after. However, they spoke on the phone last week and had a great chat.

“About a week ago, I texted her — it had been a long time, over a year. I said, ‘Hey, look, I might not get the opportunity to see you, but I just want to thank you for giving me the chance to learn so much about myself, to grow and to share such a cool moment with someone like you.’ Something along those lines.

“She [then] called me and we had a big chat. She said, ‘I still wouldn’t want anyone else but you to have shared the experience with. I learned heaps about myself.’ I said, ‘I learned heaps about myself too.’ It was a really nice chat, and actually really cool to hear how she felt watching it back. I have nothing but love for her.”

Aw, we love a happy ending!

Stranded On Honeymoon Island airs Tuesdays at 8:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Osher Günsberg defends Channel 10’s decision to axe Jonathan LaPaglia from Australian Survivor

Former The Bachelor host Osher Günsberg has weighed in on Channel 10’s decision to axe Jonathan LaPaglia as the host of Australian Survivor

Osher knows what it’s like to be unceremoniously dumped with a reality TV format — having The Masked Singer and The Bachelor cancelled in the same year — and he says it’s simply “show business”.

He doesn’t have a personal relationship with JLP, but he was “aware” of the news. “It’s an extraordinary format. And you know, in a time when no one’s greenlighting anything really, the only things that are going… are the shows that are going again,” he tells Chattr.

“So everyone’s doing their very best to keep their formats healthy, whether it be Survivor or Deal or No Deal, or Dancing With The Stars or whatever, everybody’s doing what they can to make sure that people just keep watching the thing that they’re watching.”

He notes that most networks are not “brave” enough to try and put a new format on air, so making sure current reality TV shows are feeling fresh is the main strategy.

“If that’s what they need to do to keep [Australian Survivor] healthy, then you know, it’s show business, not show friends. As someone who’s no longer employed as a TV host, I understand that more than anybody,” he adds.

“So there’s the business case, and it will always be the reason you make a choice like that.”

The Masked Singer and The Bachelor were axed in 2024

Osher is no stranger to having his formats discontinued, with the host losing his job when Australian Idol was cancelled in 2009. In 2024, it felt a bit like deja vu, when Channel 10 released a statement via Mumbrella saying they would be “packing away the masks and roses”.

“Both franchises have been hosted by television presenter extraordinaire Osher Günsberg from their inception. The resting of The Masked Singer Australia and The Bachelor franchise will give Osher a moment to rest his voice which has worked overtime screaming ‘Take It Off’ and simultaneously dropping to a whisper to deliver the iconic line of, ‘I’m sorry, but you did not receive a rose’,” the statement said.

In response, Osher reflected on his time in the media industry on his podcast Better Than Yesterday.

“This week is really very funny for me because it’s not the first time that I’ve lost two jobs in the same day. To go back to Australian Idol, when that got cancelled, I was absolutely broken,” he said.

However, he managed to change his perspective, and with the help of his mentor David, decided it was an opportunity rather than a failure.

“My new job was to invent the next job I was going to do. I got up every day, got to my desk, and that’s what I did every day,” he said.

Osher Günsberg reveals if he has a cameo on The Golden Bachelor

Former The Bachelor Australia host Osher Günsberg won’t be at the helm of the jazzed-up format The Golden Bachelor when it hits our screens, with Samantha Armytage taking his place. It’s going to be a little strange to see the Bachelor format without Osher, so could we see him do a little cameo?

Sadly, Osher tells Chattr he won’t be appearing on The Golden Bachelor, even though his wife Audrey Griffen has continued to work on the franchise. “No way, like forget about it. Like the closest I could get would be to, like, go past on my stand-up paddle and surf dog Bachelorette from the water. That’s probably about the closest I could get,” he jokes.

However, if Channel Nine did come calling, he would have been there in a heartbeat.

“Are you kidding? Would I take money from a TV network to pay the mortgage? F**king hope I would! But that’s not going to happen,” he says.

“You know, when formats change networks, it’s rare that the hosts — I don’t think it’s ever happened when the host stays, right — they change the hosts every time, because the network wants to put their own mark on it. And Sam’s going to be great, she’s going to do a great job.”

Osher’s wife refuses to spill any Golden Bachelor secrets

Osher jokes that his wife Audrey is enjoying keeping all of The Golden Bachelor secrets from him, and declares he knows nothing about what’s to come.

“I think she’s paying me back for the years that when [our son] Wolfgang was born, she didn’t work on a season or two [of The Bachelor]. And normally we’d both work on the season together. So we both signed the NDA so we could talk about it,” he explains.

“But on this one, she’s like, ‘Nah, you didn’t sign an NDA, I’m not telling you s**t’,” he says. “I’ll be finding out with everyone else, but I’m just grateful that everybody else got to work. You know, these are people that I’ve known for years, and, you know, I’ve seen their kids grow up and watch them fall in love and get married and all kinds of things.”

The TV host believes The Golden Bachelor is important in the current media landscape, because Australian television is “going through a very difficult time” at the moment.

“I don’t really mind which network a show gets up on, that gets people watching and enjoying something together. I just hope it works… it’s important to have things that we can all gather around together as a community,” he adds.

“We’re not going to get a common cultural narrative out of a 10-second video we scroll past on our phones. We get a common cultural narrative out of our stories being shown on our screens that tell the stories of ourselves.”

Channel Nine has not yet announced an air date for The Golden Bachelor Australia, but we’re guessing it will come after The Block 2025 finishes airing later this year.

You can watch The Bachelor Australia on 10Play.

Scott Cam explains why Adrian Portelli’s exit is a positive for The Block

After dominating two seasons of The Block and dropping over $27 million on eight homes, Adrian Portelli, the billionaire bidder known as “Lambo Guy” is calling it a day. No more over-the-top offers. No more stunt arrivals in yellow Lamborghinis. No more buying the entire street like it’s Monopoly. And according to Scott Cam, that’s exactly what the show needs

“I won’t be nervous about that at all,” he told Realestate.com.au. “We might not get ridiculous prices, but we’re going to give mums and dads the opportunity to buy one of these houses.”

In other words: it’s not about chasing headlines. It’s about giving real people a real shot.

Adrian Portelli pictured with The Block producer Julian Cress at the Block Auction in 2024

Adrian been a walking plot twist for the past two years – first pulling up in a Lambo and dropping $12 million in Gisborne, then casually snapping up every single house in Phillip Island in 2024 for $15 million+. It was wild. It was record-breaking. But it also priced everyday buyers straight out of the game.

Scott Cam isn’t losing sleep over Adrian Portelli’s exit

Now, after failing to flog off his Phillip Island resort in a luxury lottery, he’s shifting focus – and The Block might finally breathe again.

“We want these homes to go to families,” Scott said. “Eventually they do, even when Adrian buys them – but this way, we cut out the middleman.”

Scott admits auction day will still bring the nerves – but this year, it’s for the right reasons.

“We want them to win. We never set anyone up to fail. They’ve worked hard – and they deserve it. Actually, sometimes people don’t deserve it… but this year, they do.”

So, The Block 2025 might not be about the big bucks, but it will be about big feelings. And as viewers, we’re not mad about it!

The Block 2025 premieres on July 27 on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Thomas was offered $20,000 to propose to Clarette at the reunion

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette Goodhead was the ‘villain’ of the season, but things could have ended up very differently. According to Clarette, Farmer Thomas Freeth was offered an eye-watering amount of $20,000 to propose to the schoolteacher during the Farmer Wants A Wife reunion.

She believes if they had accepted, their edit could have played out differently, and the nation would have embraced them rather than sent hate her way.

“Thomas was offered $20,000 for a proposal at the reunion,” Clarette alleges. “We would like [a proposal] to be on our own terms and on our own timeline and not dictated to us by Channel Seven. Although, I think if we had accepted, our edit would have been very different and our love story would have had to be shown from the very beginning.”

When Chattr asks Clarette if the pair have any plans for a televised wedding, or if they will work with Channel Seven on future announcements involving any potential kids, she’s sceptical.

“I think if the network want access to our lives in the future [with] a wedding [or] kids etc, then they would need to admit some wrong doing with our edit and take some accountability of the falsification of our relationship,” she says.

“At the end of the day they wanted a love story, we gave them one, and they chose not to run with it, favouring drama instead. They need to listen to what the viewers want and that’s the original format and the wholesome love story that we were sold.”

Why didn’t Clarette and Farmer Thomas do interviews during Farmer Wants A Wife?

While Farmer Wants A Wife was airing, Chattr requested interviews with Clarette and Farmer Thomas, but was unable to get these across the line.

Clarette tells us she wasn’t aware of any interview requests, although she’s now heard multiple media outlets tried to secure a chat with the couple during the show.

“During airing, all media requests had to go through Channel Seven as we didn’t have access to our [social media] accounts, and I only had one media request after the Rodeo, which I had a few hours to deadline, which I couldn’t do in the short time frame,” Clarette recalls. “From there, neither Thomas nor I had a single other media request from the publicist despite multiple media outlets now telling us that they were trying to get in contact with us the entire time.”

Now that the show is over, Clarette and Farmer Thomas claim they haven’t received any requests for interviews through the network.

“We have been silenced by them without an opportunity to have our own voice. We know that other couples have had opportunities presented to them via the publicist, but we have had radio silence from all publicists attached to the network,” she alleges.

No wonder Clarette wrote an emotional letter about her time on Farmer Wants A Wife once she had access to her accounts again. Like she said at the time, she’s now “ready to roar”, and she’s not holding back. It’s about time viewers start to distinguish between what’s real and what’s manufactured.

You can watch Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

When does Survivor: Australia v The World air?

Channel 10 has finally revealed that Survivor: Australia v The World will premiere on August 17. This will be the final Australian Survivor series hosted by Jonathan LaPaglia after he announced he was axed by the network. It’s rumoured that Survivor Australia v The World contestant David Genat will be stepping into JLP’s shoes going forward.

Back in February, Australia v The World contestant Parvati Shallow let it slip that the new season would air mid-year when asked about whether she’d sign up for another season in the future.

“I’m going to say no. After I just played Australia Survivor v the World, which will air in July, I’m done,” she replied.

“Five seasons of Survivor is so much Survivor, and it just changes your brain. I’m good, I’m done, that’s it for me.”

Who’s in the Survivor: Australia v The World cast?

The full cast has officially been announced, with many Aussie fan favourites returning, including David Genat (Champions V Contenders, All Stars), Kirby Bentley (Titans V Rebels), Shonee Bowtell (Champions v Contenders, All Stars, and Heroes v Villains), Luke Toki (Australian Survivor, Champions V Contenders), and George Mladenov (Brains v Brawn and Heroes v Villains).

Mark Warnock, who competed against Kirby on Titans V Rebels and came third place in the season, told Chattr that he believes she has what it takes to take on the big international players on  Australia v The World.

Survivor Australia V The World demands that we send our best and brightest and there is no-one better than Kirby,” he said.

“With her natural charisma, cheeky personality and bombastic gameplay, I’m backing her to beat the world’s best.”

The Aussies will be joined by seven contestants who’ve previously played the American format of Survivor and have been confirmed for the international team. How MasterChef Australia 2025’s Snez stepped up her game this season: ‘I was so intimidated’

Snezana ‘Snez’ Calic went from a relatively early boot on MasterChef Australia 2024, to cracking the top seven during her 2025 stint. On top of blowing the judges away with her skilful dishes, she gained legions of fans around the nation for her “infectious energy” and positive outlook during her time in the competition.

In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, the mum of two reflected on her impressive journey, revealing how she managed to leap from 15th place to 7th with just one year to sharpen her skills.

“I feel like I just went for it this year, I wasn’t as shy. I enjoyed it more,” she explained.

Snez and her fellow contestants, Darrsh Clarke and Sav Perrera, were the only contestants from the most recent season of MasterChef Australia to compete this year, meaning they’ve had the least amount of time to perfect their craft outside of the show. Regardless, Snez made the biggest improvement in her ranking out of all of the home cooks, and told Chattr that she threw herself into preparation when she was invited to return for MasterChef Australia: Back to Win.

“When I heard I was going back to the show, I actually volunteered at a couple of restaurants, kind of learning basics, making sauces. I also went to the fish markets, and I was like, filleting fish for days.”

“I was like, ‘No, I’m not going up against all these professional cooks with just basic skills, and I feel like that definitely helped a lot.”

“Also, I spent all of my free time reading cookbooks, reading about the vegetables, getting to know the flavours, what works and what doesn’t, so definitely, a lot of learning went into it.”

Snez is shocked by how far she got on MasterChef Australia 2025

By the time the top seven episode of MasterChef Australia rolled around, Snez was the only remaining competitor who didn’t own a restaurant or launch a food-related business.

She told Chattr that she was worried about her fellow competitors’ extensive experience and didn’t feel confident that she could make it far in the competition.

“I was so intimidated when I was just looking at these people. Look at their resumes! People have cooking schools and multiple restaurants, they’ve worked at different restaurants with different chefs for years and years and years. And I was really, really worried,” she explained.

“I was so, so shy and kind of insecure, but then, I think halfway through the competition I kind of found my feet, and I realised I can do it, I can compete with these guys, and I felt a little bit more confident, but the start was really shaky.”

Snez added that at the beginning of the season, she just hoped she wouldn’t be the first contestant eliminated.

“I had a plan to survive the first elimination and then beat my own record, which wasn’t hard; I came 15th last year.

“So after that, I was really proud of myself. I was like, You know what? I’m going to go for top 10 now, so I was so lucky to reach top 10 and go to this trip [to Doha] with these people, it was just amazing.”

What’s next for Snez?

Snezana’s elimination on MasterChef Australia was heartbreaking for fans, with one Reddit user calling her the “people’s champion”, and another admitting that they cried during her elimination.

However, Snez’s fans will be happy to know that she isn’t planning on stepping away from the spotlight.

“I would love the have my own TV show,” she told Chattr. “I would love to have my own show showing the food that I love to eat, and food from the region that’s kind of not so much shown and known in Australia, so opening up a completely new cuisine to the Australian audience.”

Snez added that she’s so grateful for the positive feedback she’s received from fans during her 2025 MasterChef Australia stint.

“I’m actually getting such beautiful feedback and lots of lovely messages through my social media. I’m really, really overwhelmed with support, I actually did not expect any of that,” she said.

While Snez might have been surprised, we weren’t. She brought an unmatched level of positivity to the cooking show, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sunday at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Osher Günsberg explains why he snapped at Dancing With The Stars judge Craig

Dancing With The Stars has been the talk of the town today, but not for the dancing. Last night, Osher Günsberg received some harsh criticism from Craig Revel Horwood, who described his tango as a “right royal mess”.

The former Bachelor host clapped back, telling the judge to try to replicate his technical moves in heels, to which Craig replied, saying it wasn’t his job. Osher admits to Chattr Craig’s criticism left him “pissed off” and says he threw a “man-trum”.

“I tried really, really, really hard, and a part of me was like, ‘Oh, come on man. You know that was a really f**king hard thing to do, and I was never going to be technically perfect at it’,” he says. “I’m also not trying to be a professional dancer. So, you know, at least give us a compliment sandwich. Start with, ‘Mate, your hair looked good. Your feet look terrible, but you have a nice smile.’ You know, give us that.”

As a TV host, Osher is familiar with what causes drama and encourages ratings. He knows that Craig’s job is to “say the things we otherwise would never say out loud”, but a cheeky part of him wondered, “what would happen if the person who was getting eliminated also [did] that?”

It seems like there isn’t any bad blood between the two, though it certainly seemed tense on screen. “Sometimes you give it back, it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. It was always going to be a risk, but you know… I was coming from a place of reality, and I wasn’t particularly upset at him, I was just trying to draw some perspective to the snarkiness of what he was saying.”

Osher tells us he didn’t mind that the Dancing With The Stars judges didn’t like his dance, but he chose to take a risk because he wanted to challenge himself and do something hard. In the end, he came onto this show to push himself out of his comfort zone.

“My choice was to do something that was hard. I might not have executed it perfectly. I will own the consequences of that, and I think that’s an important message for people to hear. This is a message that I would have wanted to hear when I was a young man who wasn’t doing very well. I would have liked to see someone on telly say, I don’t really mind that it didn’t pay off, but I’m better. I’m a better person for having taken the risk,” he explains.

Osher reveals a tough lesson after Craig’s criticism on Dancing With The Stars

While it seemed like Osher took Craig’s criticism well and gave the judge an earful on TV, his elimination from Dancing With The Stars hit harder than expected. The day after he was told to hang up his dancing shoes for good, he was feeling low and struggled to deal with the “rejection”.

The host recognised he needed some mental health help, so Channel Seven connected him with a psychologist. “I was fascinated to learn… that I actually needed more external validation than I thought I did,” Osher explains.

“I was way more vulnerable to it than I thought. And the gift that [Dancing With The Stars] gave me was that I’ve got to spend… the last three or four months working on that. Every day, I’m in a very different place now, which makes me feel very happy, because I would not have discovered that otherwise. And it’s really important to understand where your self-worth and value sits.”

Did Osher think he could win Dancing With The Stars?

When we asked if it was a relief for him to be eliminated after getting a low score, Osher says he actually wanted to go all the way. “I’m not here for a haircut,” he jokes. “Of course I didn’t want to go. But, you know, I understand why… I saw myself dance, I get it.”

“You’re not going to go to do this thing and go, ‘Oh I’ll do one and then leave.’ You want to go as far as you can. You’re in for a penny, you’re in for a pound.”

He’s still glad he competed on Dancing With The Stars, calling it a “wonderful experience” and a unique opportunity. “When you get to [my age], it’s not often you get a chance to experiment and be challenged like this,” he says.

We’re still glad that Osher appeared back on our screens again, and hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of him. Fingers crossed we’ll get an Osher cameo on The Golden Bachelor.

Two Home and Away stars shock fans with major Hollywood roles alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt

Two former Home and Away stars have surprised viewers after popping up in one of this year’s major Hollywood blockbusters. In the era of reboots and sequels, the slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer was highly anticipated by fans of the ‘97 original and those who love the genre.

With Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. all reprising their roles, and bringing in fresh blood in the form of Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders and Jonah Hauer-King, it’s a pretty big deal to see two Aussie stars pop up in the movie.

One fan saw former Home and Away stars Luke Van Os and Joshua Orpin on the big screen and shared their delight on a popular Facebook fan group.

“Hey guys. I was just watching the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie, and I noticed two former Home and Away actors in this movie. Luke Van Os (who played Xander Delaney) and Joshua Orpin (who played Rory Templeton).

Luke finished filming Home and Away mid 2024, while Joshua was a guest star and departed in August 2024.

In I Know What You Did Last Summer, Luke plays a small role as Officer Johnson, appearing in a few scenes, while Joshua has a bigger and more gruesome role. Joshua plays Wyatt, a loved-up fiancé with an alcohol problem. He shows off his comedy chops and fits in perfectly alongside Madelyn, his onscreen fiancée.

We’re about to share a spoiler for the movie (it’s from the trailer, but still) — so if you haven’t seen it yet and want to stay spoiler-free, look away!

Joshua recently shared a snap of himself from the I Know What You Did Last Summer set covered in special effects makeup and poked fun at his onscreen death.

“Last Summer, I filmed a movie. This Summer, that movie is out and we say goodbye to our sweet boy Wyatt. Taken too soon. Gone, but not forgotten,” he joked. “I Know What You Did Last Summer is out NOW worldwide! Go see it. It’s what he would have wanted.”

Where was I Know What You Did Last Summer filmed?

I Know What You Did Last Summer was filmed in both Australia and California in the US. No wonder they tapped two Aussies for roles!

Sydney was the main filming location for the movie, with suburbs like Paddington getting a starring role. The cast also filmed in interior sets built at Disney Studios in Moore Park, Sydney.

Some beach scenes were filmed at Newport Beach, and the dockyard district in White Bay was also used. Other Australian locations include Watson’s Bay, Oatley and Breakfast Point.

In California, the cast filmed at the University of California and Chowder Barge.

It’s so fun to see former Home and Away actors pop up in other projects after leaving Summer Bay. Fingers crossed Juliet Godwin and Matt Evans will find the same success.

Home and Away airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Australian Survivor’s Kate got engaged during her hot girl Euro summer: ‘Happiest day of my life’

Congratulations are in order for Australian Survivor 2025’s Kate Gloufchis, who got engaged during a European summer trip.

Kate shared the exciting news on July 17 on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos including one of her fiancé Borce Kamjimakoski proposing to her, and another of her ring. She captioned the post with the date of their engagement.

A subsequent Instagram story showed Borce set up a band for the proposal and filled a restaurant with white flowers and candles before popping the question.

Kate is currently travelling around Europe with her DJ partner and best friend, Sophie Blackley — a former lead on F Boy Island Australia — performing under Kaos DJs, the brand they built together.

In further IG stories, Kate revealed that some of her friends flew to Macedonia for her proposal.

“Our friends travelled around the world for this and I just thought everyone was really keen to come to Macedonia,” she wrote alongside a photo of Sophie, her fiancé, and her friend Daniel.

Kate added that it was the “happiest day of her life”, and promised to share more proposal content soon.

Just days after the proposal, the Australian Survivor alum told her followers that she had to leave Borce to continue travelling around Europe for the Kaos DJ shows she and Sophie had booked.

“Was so sad saying bye to [Borce] in Macedonia – going to be away from each other for about a month now. Soph and I have shows and he’s staying in Macedonia for family weddings, already can’t wait to see him again,” she wrote.

Kate’s Australian Survivor castmates share congratulatory messages

Kate’s fellow Australian Survivor castaways flocked to the comments section of the post to congratulate her on the exciting news.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHH congratulations! I’m so happy for you both! So much love xxx,” Laura Noonan wrote on the post, and Paulie Michael penned, “Love you both. Congratulations.”

Meet the professional dancers of Dancing with the Stars 2025

When it comes to Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), the celebrities get most of the glory. However, each year, those household names are put through the paces by their professional dance partners. Not only do the professional dance partners teach and critique the routines, but they also choreograph them.

It may be hard to believe, but DWTS Australia 2025 marks the show’s 22nd season, and many of the professional dancers have been returning to the stage year after year.

Some, like Aric Yegudkin — who’s partnered with Felicity Ward this year — have claimed multiple mirrorball trophies, while others, like Jess Raffa, now dancing with her third AFL player, tend to be paired with a similar type of celebrity season after season.

Now that we’re all familiar with the celebrities taking to the stage for DWTS 2025, we thought we’d take a closer look at the professional dancers behind the magic.
