Everything you need to know about the most romantic season of The Bachelors yet

To celebrate the tenth season of The Bachelors Australia, the producers are going back to the show’s fundamentals and, apparently, bringing us a super duper romantic journey to find love.

The man, the myth, the legend Osher Günsberg will once again be hosting the show and he has promised fans that they can expect some serious romance from The Bachelors’ leading men.

“I am thrilled to once again be a part of Australia’s favourite love story, and even more stoked that Melbourne will be the backdrop for the most romantic season we’ve ever made,” he said in a statement.

“The guys are so great, and the ladies who have chosen to be a part of this are powerful, smart women who aren’t afraid to find the love they came to find.”

Who are the leading men?

Wesley Senna Cortes, Ben Waddell and Luke Bateman will be handing out roses on their quest to find love on The Bachelors 2023.

Wesley Senna Cortes, Ben Waddell and Luke Bateman (L-R) The Bachelors. Ten.

Ben is an environmentalist who’s “just moved back to Australia”, presumably from Los Angeles as he’s involved in the entertainment industry.

“It’s such a surreal experience to take part in the new Bachelor series, and while I feel incredibly lucky it’s also very daunting. I’ll be going in with an open mind and open heart to find the girl of my dreams,” he said of the gig in a statement.

Wesley is a marketing and sales manager who has vowed to be Australia’s “favourite Brazillian Bachelor”.

“It’s a huge honour given what the show means to Australia, but also to represent my culture. It’s not every day that you have such an incredible team helping you find love. I couldn’t be more excited,” he said.

The third suitor, Luke, is an NRL player come lumberjack.

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m feeling all the first date nerves – dialled up to 11. I’m looking for a partner who I can build and share a life with, a genuine person who makes me laugh and wants to start a family,” he said.

What can we expect this season?

Aside from romance, fans can expect some drama in the upcoming season, potentially making it both the most dramatic – and romantic – season yet.

“I don’t think you can get any more intense than three guys meeting 24 girls at the same time,” Wesley said in an interview on The Project. “It has been [a wild ride] already.”

“We’re already in the deep end,” Luke added.

Fans can expect a cracker of a season, because on top of the romance and drama, a previously-published casting page hinted at one major twist.

The Bachelors will air on Channel 10 and 10Play in 2023.

Dancing with the Stars Recap Episode 4: An elimination sees one star take their final bow

It’s episode four of Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 and one star has taken their final bow during Sunday’s elimination.

Before the final result was delivered, Christie Whelan Browne stepped out with dance partner Craig Monley to perform a Cha Cha as two dolls who had just stepped out of a toybox.

Judge Sharna Burgess said it was “the most amazing way to start the show!”

Pia Miranda’s Argentine Tango followed, and although her performance was sultry, the judges believed she needed a stronger frame (SPAGHETTI ARMS) and more sexual chemistry.

Sally Pearson’s had an oopsy daisy when her footwork came unstuck while racing through her Jive. Craig Revel-Horwood said that she needed to work on putting her “weight…over her toes.”

Achieving redemption for his Rumba, Charlie Albone delivered two lifts without a single drop. And speaking of “Oopsy daisy” (IYKYK), Mark Wilson said, “There’s an awkwardness about you that’s a bit Hugh Grant-like.” LOL!

Winners and Losers’ Virginia Gay scored a stellar 36 points for her role-reversed Quickstep with dance partner Ian Waite, wearing matching polka-dot suits, no less!

The Bachelor alum and KIISFM radio host, Laura Byrne then delivered a dreamy Foxtrot.

Next was Phil Burton who Todd McKenney called “both a great performance and showed great technical ability” as he performed a passionate Paso Doble.

The dance-off

Given the audience vote changes who go to the elimination round, Charlie and Ruby, and Sally and Mitch were sent to the dance-off.

While Sally and Mitch performed a beautiful and technical waltz, Charlie went all out, giving everything he had to his salsa; however, it wasn’t quite enough and he was eliminated from the competition.

The final leaderboard for the night:

  • Virginia Gay and Ian Waite – 36
  • Phil Burton and Ash-Leigh Hunter – 35
  • Christie Whelan Browne and Craig Monley – 34
  • Laura Byrne and Danil Saveliev – 28
  • Sally Pearson and Mitch Kirkby – 27
  • Pia Miranda and Declan Taylor – 24
  • Charlie Albone and Ruby Gherbaz – 17

Watch Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 on Sundays at 7.00pm on 7 and 7Plus.

Red, White and Royal Blue is giving Gossip Girl x The Royals vibes in a hilarious new trailer

What would you get if you jumbled up Gossip Girl and The Royals, and then popped it into a movie format? Well, probably something that looks a whole lot like the upcoming flick called Red White and Royal Blue.

The Prime Video comedy-romance follows the Prince of England and the son of the President of the United States as their PR-ordered friendship suddenly blossoms into a romantic relationship. The two men have to navigate their newfound love all while being in the public eye and maintaining their official roles.

Red, White and Royal Blue. Prime Video.

The feature film is based on the novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston and is directed by Matthew Lopez. The Inheritance playwriter told EW he started gunning for the role after reading the New York Times best seller.

“I first read the book in early 2020 and I decided I wanted to make the movie by page 100,” he told the publication.

“I fell madly in love with the characters and I wanted to bring them to life on the screen. I also was excited at the prospect of filming scenes set in the world of the presidency and the British Royal Family. I shamelessly harassed [producers] Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter into backing me with the studio to direct it. The idea that someone else might make this movie filled me with unbearable jealousy.”

Who’s in Red, White and Royal Blue?

Taylor Zakhar Perez will play Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States and Nicholas Galitzine will be Prince Henry of England.

Uma Thurman. Prime Video.

Uma Thurman has been cast as Alex’s mother, who is the newly elected United States President Ellen Claremont. Other castmembers include Rachel Hilson, Clifton Collins Jr., Stephen Fry, Sarah Shahi, Ellie Bamber, Aneesh Sheth, Polo Morin, Ahmed Elhaj, Sharon D. Clarke, Malcolm Atobrah, Thomas Flynn, and Akshay Khanna.

Is there a trailer?

There sure is! You can watch it below.

Red, White and Royal Blue will premiere on August 11 on Prime Video.

William’s biological mother will reveal her startling concerns in 7NEWS Spotlight: William Tyrell

Network Seven is dropping a special segment called 7NEWS Spotlight: William Tyrell, which will explore the mysterious disappearance of the three-year-old in 2014.

It’s one of Australia’s most high-profile missing people cases, and over the past almost decade, several key suspects have been identified, only to be later ruled out.

7NEWS Spotlight: William Tyrell will feature an emotional interview with the missing boy’s biological mother, during which she’ll share her concerns about his foster parents.

William Tyrell’s biological mother. Seven.

Investigative journalist Liam Bartlett will host the segment, and he’ll be joined by a panel of leading criminal experts, including Mark Morri, who is News Corp’s most senior crime reporter who bought to light the investigation into the foster mother.

Charlie Bezzina, one of the country’s most effective homicide detectives, will also feature, as well as investigative author Caroline Overington.

“Sadly, this is a case that, for too long, has captivated the Australian public in the worst way. Either in the hope of finding little William – or find the person or people responsible for his disappearance,” Bartlett said in a statement.

“Hopefully this time the new development is not another false start – and we can be part of a discussion that may lead to a genuine solution.

When did William Tyrell go missing?

"From the start, I always had concerns."
William Tyrell. Seven.

Tyrell went missing on September 12, 2014, while at his foster grandmother’s house on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, on the NSW Mid-North Coast.

Despite a huge amount of public awareness and ongoing police investigations, no trace of Tyrell’s body has ever been found.

What is the latest development?

In June, police from Strike Force Rosann handed evidence over to prosecutors and suggested that Tyrell’s foster mother be charged with perverting the course of justice and interfering with a corpse.

The strike force does not believe the woman, who’s name is concealed for legal reasons, caused Tyrell’s death but the theory is that he died in an accident in the town of Kendall and his foster mother allegedly covered it up by hiding his body.

Is there a trailer for 7NEWS Spotlight: William Tyrell?

Yes, you can watch it below.

7NEWS Spotlight: William Tyrell airs on July 9 at 8:45pm on Channel 7 and 7Play.

MasterChef Recap Episode 44: A huge cook sees one contestant sent through to finals week

It’s episode 44 of MasterChef Australia 2023 and one contestant will be the first cook sent straight through to finals week.

The challenge took place at the incredible Stick Shed in Murtoa, a striking wartime grain store and contestants Brent, Declan and Theo, were tasked with serving up a spectacular three-course grain meal.

From appetisers to desserts, each cook had to showcase a grain as the star ingredient in their chosen course.

With three hours to whip up their gastronomic wonders, they served 25 hungry diners and the judges. With immunity on the line, the pressure was on, and the clock was ticking.

The cook and judging

Brent cooked an entree featuring green lentils and he opted for Hot Smoked Rainbow Trout with Tempered Oil.

Jock Zonfrillo said the fish was cooked “absolutely beautifully” and Melissa Leong said it was an “excellent dish” with “elegant complexity”.

MasterChef. Ten.

Theo was on the main meal, with chickpeas as his star ingredient. He served up a Chickpea and Lamb Stew with Spiced Flat Bread and Yogurt.

Jock instantly commented on “how good” the dish smelt and Andy Allen said he was “dying to get into” it”. Melissa added that it was an “extraordinary plate of food”.

Upon tasting it, all three judges loved the dish, with Andy asking if it’s humanely possible to “cook a shank better than that?”

MasterChef. Ten.

Declan was left with the dessert, which he was unsure about. He used pearl barley in the sweet dish and made a Pearl Barley Coconut Pudding with Peach and Plum Salsa and Pearl Barley Caramel.

The judges didn’t give much away while they were tasting the dish, and it was hard to tell if it was a flop or not until Jock exclaimed that it was a “sensational dessert”.

He said that the “cook of the pearl barley in the pudding was excellent” and loved that Declan used the grain in the sauce as well as the dish. Meanwhile, Melissa said it was a “perfect symphony of flavours”.

MasterChef. Ten.

The Verdict

The judges were impressed with the three dishes delivered and said picking the winner was “challenging”.

However, Melissa said Declan’s dessert was a “perfect ten” and crowned him the winner of the challenge. The win means that he is the first contestant through to finals week of MasterChef 2023.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

Everything you need to know about the new true-crime series The Murder of Lyn Dawson

Lynette Dawson’s 1982 murder is one of the most polarising cold-cases in Australian history.

Lynette’s husband, Chris Dawson, was found guilty of her murder in 2022, despite maintaining his innocence and her body never being found.

The case drummed up a lot of media coverage and had millions of Aussies closely following while it was before the court. So, it should come as little surprise that it’s now been turned into a docuseries, The Murder of Lyn Dawson.

What’s The Murder of Lyn Dawson about?

The series is told by a variety of people linked to both Chris and Lynette, including their daughter Shanelle, and the detective who helped bring Dawson to justice, Damian Loone. Hedley Thomas, the journalist who put the case in the spotlight in recent times with his viral podcast The Teacher’s Pet, will also feature in the series.

The docuseries will explore Lynette’s disappearance and the murder case and will follow Shanelle as she comes to terms with the fact her beloved father is a liar and a murderer, and her mother is dead.

Now, he is facing additional charges of unlawful sex with a 16-year-old. The case is currently before the court.

“I think it was a bit of a surprise to them too but they are over the moon so that’s great,” Sam told 7Life.

Armytage added that she doesn’t believe the couple was planning to conceive so soon after meeting on Farmer Wants a Wife.

MasterChef Recap Episode 43: One cook scores a HUGE advantage in Thursday’s Immunity cook

It’s episode 43 of MasterChef Australia 2023 and day two of the MC road trip.

Our contestants, Brent, Cath, Declan and Theo have found themselves wandering through the prickly paradise of Cactus Country, while Rhiannon was off sick.

The challenge for Wednesday night was to be inspired by cactus and the vibrant nation they are most often associated with – Mexico.

Declan and Cath were in the first round, given that Brent and Theo had already earned their spot in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge, and they had 60 minutes to make mouth-watering Mexican-inspired dishes. With just one spot left in tomorrow’s immunity challenge, they were ready to bring the heat and spice things up.

Then, in a surprise twist, the remaining contestants faced off in an advantage round. With only 60 minutes on the clock, they had to whip up a dish that shone a spotlight on the true star of the desert, the cactus itself.

Round One

Declan and Cath were first to face off in a Fiesta-inspired dish.

Declan made Grilled Flathead Tortillas with a Tatemada Salsa.

Andy Allen said the salsa was “where it’s at” and that he had “the confidence” to take risks. Melissa Leong said the flavours were complex and Jock Zonfrillo loved the cook on his fish and tortillas.

Declan’s dish. Ten

Cath then presented her Mexican Chicken Wings with Salsa and Avocado Cream.

Andy said she “could have made it better” by rolling the chicken in chipotle and Jock said true Mexican requires research and if she investigated it, she would go down a “wormhole of flavour”.

Cath’s dish.

Declan was victorious in advancing to the next round.

Round Two

In the next round, Brent, Theo and Declan cooked for a huge advantage in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge, given the task of featuring cactus in the dish.

Declan was up first and delivered Kingfish and Mexican Rice with Prickly Pear Tatemada Salsa. He featured the cactus in the salsa.

Jock said the flavour had a lot of “Mexican vibes” and once again, gave “absolutely perfect” fish. Andy loved the presentation and Mel said he should be proud of himself.

Declan’s dish. Ten

Theo was up next with his Prickly Pear Pork Tacos.

Mel wondered if there was enough prickly pear in the dish given that it was just in the sauce. Jock said the tortillas were great but he couldn’t taste the cactus. He also said he was “so close” and Andy said, the flavour wasn’t there.

Theo’s dish. Ten

Finally, Brent served up his Prickly Pear Chicken with Strawberry Cactus Salsa.

Mel said there was a nice amount of heat in the chillis, Andy said his sauce section is getting stronger and that out of all the plates, his was the tastiest. Jock said the brief was filled.

Brent’s dish. Ten

The Verdict

Unsurprisingly, Brent won the challenge, winning him a huge advantage in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

The Bledisloe Cup 2023: How to watch the Wallabies battle it out with the All Blacks

It’s been over two decades since the Australian Wallabies won against the New Zealand All Blacks in the Bledisloe Cup, but could this year be the year they reclaim victory?

The Cup is a long-standing event between the Aussie and the Kiwis with the first match taking place back in 1932, and it has been a mostly-annual event ever since.

The prestigious rugby union match-ups see the rivals face off over two games played on each of their own turfs.

How can I watch it?

The two Bledisloe Cup games are taking place at the following times:

  • Wallabies v New Zealand, 7:50pm AEST, Saturday 29 July at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.
  • Wallabies v New Zealand, 12:35pm AEST Saturday 5 August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin.

The games can be watched live and on-demand on Nine, 9Now and Stan Sport.

Is it likely that Australia will win this year?

Over 63 games, the Wallabies have only clinched nine victories. However, Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones has been talking up the Australians’ chances to win this year.

“We’ve got plenty of talent in Australia with plenty of good players, there’s not something magical between Australia and New Zealand,” Jones told Fox Sports.

Eddie Jones. Instagram.

“The Tasman Sea – it doesn’t create supermen on one side, and on the other side there’s people who are going to get beaten.”

The coach stressed that the fact the home game will be played at the MCG gives the Aussie team a big advantage.

“If you look at the record of Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, we’ve got a two-one record against the All Blacks, which is the only place in the world we’ve got this record,” Jones said.

“It’s quite a fitting time to come back here – we haven’t won a cup for 22 years, we’re looking forward to playing in front of the huge crowd.

“Victorians want to have the World Cup final so it’s a great opportunity for them to dress rehearse here.”

What were last year’s results?

Unsurprisingly, the All Blacks took home victory in the 2022 Bledisloe Cup. They won the first game 37-39 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium and the second game 14-40 at Eden Park in Auckland.

Watch the Bledisloe Cup live on July 29 and August 5 on Nine, 9Now and Stan Sport.

Rush 2023 Recap Episode Three: A Traveller voluntarily leaves the competition after tensions rise

It’s episode three of Rush Australia 2023 and one Traveller has decided to call it quits.

After leaving Turkey — and Priscilla — behind during the July 3 episode, Team Navy, Team Gold and Team Scarlet have now been dropped in Jordan, specifically the scorching 44-degree heat of the Wadi Rum Desert.

“Where are we? On a Star Wars bloody set?” Fiona asks, and no, Fiona. You’re in an actual place.

The teams receive a message from host David Genat (DG) which reads: “A precious rock, surrounded by sand. A reminder of Egypt is where you should land.”

Nine

DG is 8km away at Pyramid Rock and they need to get to him quicksmart with the use of a provided compass and map. While you’d think having literal directions would be a walk in the park, Team Navy doesn’t even notice that they’ve been equipped for the mission.

Tommy, Madeline, Sofia and Tylen then decide fate will get them to their destination, picking a direction at random before going the wrong way… for three hours.

Meanwhile, since they had the sense to check their backpacks, Team Gold reach DG first, followed by Team Scarlet.

The Mission – Bedouin Camp

DG then tells the two teams that the next Escape Zone is located in the ancient city of Petra, with another mission to complete along the way.

“There’s something you should know about tonight’s Check-In,” he then warns. “You will need to wander the desert in search of a traditional Bedouin camp that is willing to host you for the night. With their nomadic lifestyle, there is no guarantee of where to find them, it could be a needle in a haystack.” Fun!

With just 100 Jordanian dinars, they set off.

https://www.chattr.com.au/04/07/2023/rush-2023-recap-australia-episode-two-july-3/

Team Navy, however, are still lost AF, before realising Tylen doesn’t know how to read a compass.

Madeleine loses her cool and says: “Apparently I’m the only one who knows how to read a compass. I can’t stand people who just say they can do stuff to try and be a hero. I trusted you guys. I’m done.” Oop!

Unfortunately, they fail to find our Golden God and Sofia becomes frustrated at Madeleine’s s**tty attitude.

When they finally get to DG, he’s sitting there being fanned while being fed grapes. He wasn’t, but we wouldn’t blame him given the fact that Team Navy rocked up at 8.30pm.

Since they took their sweet a** time, they have to give up and make camp under the stars.

“We’ve got sleep out of here, it’s pitch black, it’s freezing. Are you serious?” Tommy says. And yes, the producers at Rush were very serious because, with one blanket between the four of them, that’s where they slept.

Nine

The Mission – The High Place of Sacrifice

After what Tommy calls “the crappest sleep”, he too decides he cannot stand Madeliene’s complaining; however, as they would say in MasterChef, it was time to motor!

By the grace of the desert gods, Tommy then sees a car and they manage to haggle a ride but their obstacles weren’t over just yet. Once at Petra, they faced a 900-step hike to the High Place of Sacrifice where they had to photograph a circular stone altar.

Madeleine once again loses her mind, thinking they couldn’t possibly complete the task and the team begin to turn on her.

“Madi you’ve got no respect sometimes,” Tylen tells her, while she says: “I don’t care”. Ouch.

The team manage to complete the task, albeit 50 million hours behind the other teams, and make it to DG.

The Mission – The Monestary Escape Zone

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Team Navy were the only Travellers competing given their airtime, but ya gotta follow where the drama is and Team Navy is that drama.

Once again, they get lost on their way to meet DG, who finally puts them out of their misery. He tells them that they need to eliminate one of their own, and Madeleine is thrilled.

David Genat. Nine

“I can save all of this,” she tells him. “Chuck me on that plane back to Australia, team. I’m gonna love you and leave you. If there’s no arguments, I’ve had a blast. I’ve been on the adventure I wanted to. And I’m ready to see my kids again. Thank you. That’s me.”

Madeleine then becomes the latest Traveller to be eliminated (of her own volition) from the show.

“I feel like to be leaving the team with that comment. Honestly, I was like, that is so nasty,” Sofia says in a piece-to-camera.

“But you know what? That’s just made the fire in my belly a hell of a lot bigger. And I’m just ready to take on the world with my two boys and prove Madi wrong.”

Rush airs on Sunday at 7:00pm and continues Monday and Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Million Dollar Island recap episode 9: 20 thoughts I had watching the richest players battle it out

It’s Million Dollar Island Australia episode nine and this one is a shocker!

The ep sees two of the contestants, who undoubtedly have the most screen time, leave the comp, via an injury and a self-elimination. We also *finally* see some savage strategy in play when some very rich players are put forward for elimination.

Here are 20 thoughts I had during episode nine of Million Dollar Island Australia.

1. Rich Islander Chelsea said she’s not chasing Brett’s bracelets because he’s “earnt” them and she’s looking to work alongside him. What a twist.

2. Of course, Corey doesn’t want to go in the Elimination Challenge because he has so much money on his wrist. Playing devil’s advocate here, but is Corey unfairly using the friend card?

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

3. Wow. Vine camp has only four players left. Wild.

4. I think the who shebang about wheel-winner Jayden picking Corey being morally wrong is ridiculous. It’s a literal game, and his choices are strategic, not personal.

5. Woooooo between Jayden’s noms there is over $400k in the mix. Plus, five of his six nominations have come from his own camp. This man ain’t playing.

6. Rich words from Corey to Jayden: “You’re riding on our coattails mate, you’ve done nothing all camp, you’ve back-flipped and there’s going to be repercussions.” Corey, weren’t you the guy that Rock Camp gave basically all of their bracelets to in a move to overthrow Brett?

The Elimination Challenge

7. So lame that Corey (with all his $$$ bracelets) was the last contestant picked to roll in the challenge, meaning he has the biggest advantage. These people aren’t savage enough, if Survivor George was here he wouldn’t be playing safe.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

8. I kinda want Jayden to win this challenge because he’s the only one taking risks.

9. Welp, that dream’s over.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

10. Chelsea’s $410,000 win is spicy and I’m here for it. Corey is broke!

11. Lol @ Brett’s polite little clap when Chelsea won. I think I miss him?!

Million Dollar Island. Brett.

Post Challenge and Survival Challenge

12. Oh how kind, Kylie said that the team can feed their teammate (and wheel winner) Jayden tonight and that he’s “welcome to sleep in his bed”. Can someone tell me exactly what he did wrong?

13. OH MY. Corey’s down… and out?! He stacked it on the beach and messed up his leg. Does this mean one of the main characters is going?

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

14. Yup. Corey’s out. I bet Brett’s happy.

15. My money is on Allister to take out the Survival Challenge of building a hut. He looks like he’s done it before.

16. I take that back, Lisa’s hut is a vision of beauty.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

17. Lisa wins, and it’s pretty damn hard to argue with that decision.

The Elimination

18. Looks like Jayden is going home. Which is sad but oh well, he shot his shot. Good on him.

19. Woah, what a twist of events. Sasspot two-time wheel winner Jonathan has self-eliminated. Boo.

Million Dollar Island. Seven.

20. He chose to give her bracelet to self-dubbed ‘Expedition Leader’ Karla. Double boo.

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on July 10 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.

Did Meghan Trainor give a nod to Australian Idol with the name of her second baby?

Australian Idol judge Meghan Trainor has announced the birth of her second baby and the name is pretty Aussie if you ask us.

The singer and TV personality took to Instagram to share the happy news and revealed that she and her husband Daryl Sabara have named the bub Barry Bruce.

“On July 1st (our 7-year anniversary of our first date) we welcomed Barry Bruce Trainor into the world,” the post began.

“He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz…and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin-to-skin time! Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us.”

Trainor was a judge on this year’s season of Australian Idol and stayed in the country for a few months last summer while she was filming the show. In fact, she even announced her pregnancy while she was right here in Oz.

Although the name Barry is of Irish origin, it’s been hugely popular in Australia for a long while now (just ask Wiki), so, we can’t help but think that Trainor’s name choice is a subtle nod to her time in our beautiful nation!

On a side note, lil’ Barry has taken on Trainor’s last name, rather than Sabara’s, which is progressive and we’re totally here for it.

Who is Meghan Trainor’s partner?

The pop star is married to Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara. The couple began dating in 2016 and tied the knot in an intimate backyard ceremony in December 2018.

Megan Trainor and Darly Sabara. Instagram.

“It’s the beginning of an awesome, whole new life. I got way more than I ever wished for,” she told PEOPLE at the time.

When did they have their first child?

Sabara and Trainor welcomed their first child Riley, on February 8, 2021.

Months later, the Australian Idol judge revealed that her son was born via cesarean because he was in breach position, and that led to breathing issues which required a stay in the neonatal intensive care unit. She told PEOPLE that the experience traumatised her.

“I couldn’t go to sleep at night. I would be in tears and tell Daryl, ‘I’m still on that table, dude. I’m trapped there. I can’t remind myself I’m in bed and I’m safe at home,’ ” she said. “I had to learn how traumatic it was.”

MasterChef Recap Episode 42: A road trip won a cook the chance to earn a golden ticket to Finals Week

It’s episode 42 of MasterChef Australia 2023 and it was time to hit the road! The final five, Brent, Cath, Declan, Rhiannon and Theo rolled into the bountiful Murray region of Victoria, fondly known as ‘Australia’s food bowl’ alongside the judges, Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.

During the challenge, which took place at the prestigious All Saints Estate, Cath, Theo, Declan and Rhiannon faced off in a classic MasterChef time auction.

Each contestant began the auction with 120 minutes to bid on ingredients in three categories: proteins, fruit and vegetables, and pantry items.

The high-stakes showdown saw the competitors spice up their bidding skills, followed by a cook, with the best dish winning its maker a golden ticket to Thursday’s Immunity Challenge.

Ten

The Auction

Theo bid on the Pork Belly for 40 minutes of his cook time, while Declan won the Murray Cod for 40 minutes. Rhiannon, who was super competitive, bid on the Yabbies for 50 minutes, and Cath was given the Rabbit, with no time taken off.

Next up was the basket of root veggies, which Cath won, losing 35 minutes off her cook.

Celians were then on offer, which Declan won for 30 minutes less time in the kitchen before Rhiannon won the leafy greens for 15 minutes; which left the orchard fruits for Theo who did not lose any additional minutes.

Finally, the pantry items were on offer.

Herbs were won by Cath for 30 minutes, while Rhiannon won the vinegar and wine for 25 minutes. Finally, the preserves and jams were given to Theo for 40 minutes, and Declan was given the spices without a time penalty.

Ten

The Dishes and The Judging

First up to the Judges was Theo, who had 40 minutes to cook. He presented a Glazed Porkchop with a Fig and Apple Salad.

Mel called the pork “the star of the show”, while Andy said he had “treated it really well”, while Jock called the dish a “stand-out”.

Ten

Next up was Cath with her Fricassee Rabbit.

Andy said the concept was good and that the loin was cooked beautifully, however, she overcooked the liver and the balance of the sauce was not right. Mel said if she had more time, it would have been great but wasn’t her finest work while Jock said it “could have been delicious”.

Ten

Following Cath was Rhiannon with Grilled Yabbies with Butter Sauce and Rocket Salad. She was not happy with her cook given the time constraints.

Jock said they didn’t look cooked which was confirmed when they cut into it. Jock said he was “devastated” for her because the clock was her biggest obstacle.

Ten

Finally, our boy Declan delivered a “risky” Poached Murray Cod and Charred Leek with Onion Jam and Crispy Shallots. The judges praised his perfect cook of the fish while Jock called the dish “mental” and “absolute perfection”; however, his onions were burnt. They also concurred that he is the King of Fish and subsequently King of our Heart.

Ten

The Verdict

Theo was named victorious with his pork belly and will join Brent in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge, earning him a chance to get a one-way ticket to Finals Week.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

Ouch! Everyone who’s left Million Dollar Island due to injuries so far

A medical evacuation on an adventure reality show is a pretty common occurrence – and that’s with a regular-sized cast. So, the odds were significantly raised when Network Seven cast 100 players on Million Dollar Island, and, unsurprisingly, the number of injuries skyrocketed, too.

The majority of the bust-ups have happened during challenges, however, some have happened around camp too.

Check out the contestants that have been eliminated due to injury so far:

Episode One: Kelly

Kelly from Million Dollar Island
Kelly. Million Dollar Island.

Kelly was the first contestant to be removed from the competition for medical reasons, and she didn’t even make it past the first episode.

“Last night I was laying down and I felt like I was spinning, but I didn’t have any sleep. Then I got up today and I was like, “Oh, I’m okay” and I was around all day. Then, all of a sudden, just as we went to leave, it hit me again.”

Host Ant Middleton said that it could be “food poisoning” or a “tropical disease” (umm?!?) but we never actually found out what was wrong with Kelly before she was yeeted off the island.

Episode Three: Luke

Luke's injury on Million Dollar Island
Luke. Million Dollar Island.

The next contestant to fall victim to an injury was Luke, who had a hell of a headbutt with a tree in episode three. When he was competing in the Survival Challenge, he sprinted out of the jungle and collided head-first with a broken-off tree branch.

Episode Four: Jake

Jake has injuries on Million Dollar Island
Jake. Million Dollar Island.

Next was Jake, and his medical evacuation was rather mysterious. He competed in challenge but failed to win, so was set to compete in a Survival Challenge the following day. However, he never made it there as he fell ill overnight.

“I have fallen over and I’ve fainted,” he explained. “Then I came to and I’ve been incoherent. I haven’t been able to describe where I had been or where I was going. Like, I’ve lost consciousness, that can’t be good.”

Episode Six: Pete

Pete. Million Dollar Island.

Pete was medically evacuated from the island after he fell ill in episode seven; however, the episode didn’t give his removal much screen time.

“There is a lot I could personally elaborate on my exit and try and break it all down however medically….well I’ll save that for next time,” Pete explained on Instagram.

“Don’t be fooled.. the conditions out there were extremely tough, the hardest thing I have done x100.”

Episode Nine: Corey

Corey. Million Dollar Island.

Episode nine’s injury evacuation was a shocker. Corey, who – until moments ago – was the second richest man on the island, tripped on the beach and potentially tore a leg ligament.

“I tore my ACL in 2016. I’ve done it before and it hurts behind my knee,” he explained before adding he wanted “to complete the Survival Challenge.”

Alas, the medical team won’t allow it and Corey is swept away to the clinic, never to return to the beach (for now).

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on July 10 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.

Million Dollar Island recap episode 8: 13 thoughts I had while Log Camp tried to win… crabs

It’s Million Dollar Island Australia 2023 episode eight, and Log Camp still hasn’t stopped whinging about their lack of food despite having an entire ocean full of fish directly in front of them.

This week, Chelsea is in charge of the wheel spin. Her Log Camp nominees are clearly very hungry, and battle it out to win some crabs. Yep, the same type of crabs that are casually swimming in front of their camp at all hours of the day.

Here are 12 thoughts I had during episode eight of Million Dollar Island Australia.

1. We’re three minutes in and *surprise, surprise* Log Camp is already complaining about food…. again.

2. YESSS. Chelsea is in charge of picking this week’s tributes, and she’s already made it clear that she’s nominating herself. Give us some action!

3. Ant Middleton tells Chelsea that “every player who has nominated themselves has left the island” and… Now I’m not so sure if her self-nomination was the best idea.

Chelsea. Million Dollar Island.

Elimination Challenge

4. I’m so here for Jack tormenting Log Camp about the delicious meal they had the previous night.

5. Aren’t we at a challenge? Why on earth is Kylie delivering a tearful Ted Talk about the lack of food her camp has. She… has heard of fishing, right?

6. Is it just me or is Jordan trying very hard not to roll his eyes at Kylie. I feel you, boy.

Jordan. Million Dollar Island.

7. Um, what? Kylie called Log Camp – who is her opposition – bullies for not giving them some of the food they’ve saved/caught/earned. O…kay.

Kylie. Million Dollar Island.

8. Phew, the challenge is finally here and Jordan thinks “der” is a word. Hilarious.

9. Chelsea wins the challenge and officially beats the Self-Nom curse. Yay, I guess.

Survival Challenge

10. The winner is not only safe from elimination but also gets to take home 3kgs of crabs and I’m pretty sure that’s all the inspiration Log Camp needs.

Crabs. Million Dollar Island.

11. Jordan – who’s from Log Camp – wins the challenge and there’s a 99% chance Kylie is going to combust with excitement about some fresh crab meat.

The Elimination

12. Kylie tells Ant that Jordan’s win was delicious. TBH I’m a little disappointed he didn’t keep all the crabs for himself. Just imagine the drama.

13. Jack’s devo that his lil bestie Tony is going home, but not devo enough to give him his wristband. Cya Tony!

Jack. Million Dollar Island.

Rush 2023 Recap Episode Two: One team makes an unexpected comeback while another falls short

It’s episode two of Rush Australia 2023 and the contestants find themselves in Istanbul, dropped into the Suleymaniye Mosque with nothing but the sound of a call to prayer.

It’s six in the morning and the entire town is up, scattered around in the different churches.

“You just had goosebumps, it was just an amazing feeling to think where we were at that particular time,” Fiona says.

Team Gold’s Saxon guesses that they were in Istanbul before a clue is sent via smartwatch message.

“A chamber of water, the largest of its kind. A cistern beneath the city, ready for you to find.”

Nine

Once again, Saxon figures it out, saying that it’s referring to the Basilica Cistern. After rattling off facts and figures, it turned out that he had extensively researched the Ottoman Empire thanks to playing in a band called The Ottomans.

While walking in the dark without a GPS, luck lands at Saxon’s feet as he finds a map. This stroke of fortune gets Team Gold to host David Genat (DG) first in Basilica Cistern.

Mission Brief

DG briefs the winning team, saying their “First mission is to travel south to the city of Bursa where you need to locate and experience a traditional Turkish Hammam together.”

They then need to pass “through the oldest Ottoman village on the way to the Escape Zone” to bring him some Turkish Delight.

Team Gold is then given 4000 Turkish Lira and they must make it last the whole 450km to Canakkale.

Team Navy came in next followed by Team Scarlet.

Mission: Traditional Hamman

While Team Gold had the lead, choosing to wait an hour and a half for the bus meant that Team Navy was the first to make it to the city of Bursa.

Team Navy (Tommy, Sofia, Madeline and Tylen) are the first to make it to Bursa and find themselves stripped down to their swimmers for a traditional Turkish bath experience.

Team Scarlet is the next to arrive with Fiona, Adam and Hamish joining them; however, Team Navy slam the door in their face to maintain the lead.

While it was all a jolly affair, things took an… ahem, turn, as the spa was less than relaxing with a serious rub down.

“I don’t think many blokes wear this around the joint not in Bundaberg anyways that’s for sure,” Tylen says in a headwrap.

Tylen. Nine

Elimination

After Team Gold experience the Hamman, the teams head off in very different directions.

Team Navy use their remaining money to jump in a taxi to the Escape Zone; however, they don’t have enough for the full fare so Sofia pawns some of her jewellery.

“Sofia, she definitely pulled out a strength card out in my eyes, not many people would sell things literally off their back,” Tylen said.

Nine

While a gallant effort, it was Team Scarlet who was the first to arrive at the Trojan Horse of Troy in the city of Cannakale; however, Team Gold was stranded 70km away.

After being abandoned by their taxi driver, they were left stranded with Saxon saying “We’re done for”.

DG sends a message through their smartwatch, sending a taxi to rescue them; however, since Team Navy had also reached the Escape Zone, they now had to eliminate a player.

With two minutes to decide, Team Gold eliminates Priscilla.

Hunted Australia 2023: Four contestants have been revealed and one of them is ex-military

We’ve been treated to some more info about four of the upcoming Hunted Australia contestants, and this year’s season looks spicy as hell.

The stand-out fugitives among the four are Glenn Azar, who spent 17 years in the army, and IT specialist Ben Page. Both men look to have the Hunters on high alert.

Below, you can check out clips of each team, and find out exactly why they’re so threatening to the hunters.

Glenn Azar (Ex-Military) and Taylar Robertson (Champion Boxer)

Not only is Glenn a former Military personnel, but he already knows one of the Hunters.

“I personally know a fugitive, Glenn Azar, and he’s now become public enemy number one,” one says in the clip.

Despite having a target on his back, Glenn reveals that he’s not too worried about getting caught.

“The Hunters don’t intimidate me at all,” he says.

Meanwhile, his partner Taylar Robertson has the same smug confidence.

“It’s a game of cat and mouse, but this mouse is quick,” she tells the camera.

Ben Page (IT Specialist) and Callum Charlesworth (Veterinary Nurse)

By the looks of it, Ben Page and Callum Charlesworth will be using their brains to outsmart the fugitives. To be fair, they should have a pretty good chance considering Ben’s tech background.

“I work in the IT sphere, and I think I know enough to cause a little havoc. My laptop that I handed in, is a little bit of a trojan horse,” he reveals in the clip.

Ben and Callum then try to hack the hunters, and it looks as though they have some kind of success.

“We’ve already pissed them off, that’s good. That’s excellent,” Ben laughs.

And, Daddy Ben AKA British Intelligence Officer Ben Owen suggests that the two fugitives’ battle with the IT team could spark some chaos.

“Never mess with the cyber team, they scare me more than anyone in the room,” he says.

Hunted season two will air in 2023 on 10 and 10Play.

MasterChef Recap Episode 41: One cook scores the chance to play for a spot in Finals week

It’s episode 41 of MasterChef Australia 2023, and the Top Five, Brent, Cath, Declan, Rhiannon and Theo, were tasked with a Mystery Box bursting with delightful Perino tomatoes.

With only 60 minutes on the clock, they had to create a dish using the tantalising gems, along with at least two hand-picked ingredients taken fresh from the bounty of the MC garden.

While a scrumptious test to say the least, the stakes were higher than ever because whoever cooked the top dish would earn a spot in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge with a twist. To cook for a place in Finals week!

Ten

The Dishes and the Judging

Brent’s dish was up first. He presented Pork Belly Skewer with Tomato and Betel Leaf Salsa and Adobo Sauce.

Jock Zonfrillo said it was “probably one of the best things you’ve cooked in the kitchen. Epic.” While Andy Allen said “It’s so bloody good, mate!” and Melissa Leong “couldn’t agree more” saying it was “inspired cooking”.

Brent’s dish. Ten

Theo was up next; however, he felt “deflated” and was concerned he let his mum and YiaYia down. He delivered Dolmades with Tzatziki.

Jock said the rice wasn’t cooked and the vine leaves hadn’t been cooked down; however, his plating was well done while Melissa said she could “taste what it might have been like” if he had more time.

Theo’s dish. Ten

Cath was next to share her Summer Lasagne with Roasted Tomato, Basil and Ricotta. Jock’s “biggest problem” was the ricotta and said she was “so close” with her dish. Andy said it was “good”.

Cath’s dish. Ten

The pressure also got to Rhiannon who shared her Snapper with Eggplant, Tomato and an Eggplant Relish. She admitted she left the fish too late and Jock concurred saying it was raw. “Don’t do that again,” he said.

Rhiannon’s dish. Ten

Finally, our Declan delivered a Thai Fried Fish with Tomato, and Thai Basil Vinaigrette. Andy said the cook on the fish was “outrageously” good while Melissa says she was “impressed” by the dish and “the man himself”. Jock said, “It’s translucent, sexy and you nailed it”.

Declan’s dish. Ten

The Verdict

The two stand-outs were “Declan is your name and today, fish was most certainly the game” and Brent, whose flavours were “ten out of ten”. His Pork Belly was named dish of the day and was given a chance to earn a one-way ticket to Finals Week during Wednesday’s episode.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.
