Farmer Wants a Wife insider reveals the Lady who was “more than happy” to play the villain

Pretty much every reality TV show has a villain, and Farmer Wants a Wife 2024 was no exception, with an insider revealing which of the Ladies willing agreed to play the role.

“Potential reality TV stars apply and in their audition interviews, they will directly tell you ‘I want to be the villain'”, an insider, who works in reality TV production told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia. “They often declare they will do what you want to make good TV and are more than happy to be the bad guy.”

The source said that FWAW’s Karli Hinkley has no qualms about taking on the villain role.

“Karli on Farmer Wants a Wife was happy to follow instructions and do what the producers needed for good TV. Some get this unhealthy relationship like Stockholm Syndrome where they want to impress their captor,” they said.

“She (Karli) was more than happy to grab Farmer Bert’s hand in front of the other girls to upset them and that directive came from a producer.”

Karli and Bert. Seven.

Why reality TV contestants are happy to play villains

The casting insider said that times have changed since reality TV began, and contestants hoped to get a good edit.

“Back when reality TV first started everyone wanted to be Reggie Bird – the fish ’n’ chip shop owner from Tassie,” they said. “Loveable and with a heart of gold.”

Karli and Bert. Seven.

They added that villains generally get more screen time, which results in bigger profiles, which ultimately leads to a wider audience.

“It is no longer how you get noticed by the wider audiences,” they said. “They want to come on these shows and make a lot of noise. I think Abbie Chatfield was the game changer and she wasn’t even that villainous.”

Lourdes reveals the double-edged sword of being a young MasterChef Australia contestant

Lourdes Leschen was the youngest contestant on MasterChef Australia 2024, but despite being just 22, she knew an impressive amount about cooking.

While some viewers may think the years of cooking experience that some of the older MasterChef contestants had would be an advantage, Lourdes revealed the surprising benefit she found being in her 20s.

“It’s definitely an advantage being a little bit older because you have that breadth of experience,” she agreed. “If you’re a 40-year-old parent and you’ve cooked for your family for the past 20 years, you’re probably going to do a lot better than someone who’s 20 years old and doesn’t know as much,” she said during a post-elimination interview with Chattr.

Lourdes on MasterChef. Ten.

“But on the other hand, if you’re younger, you might have fresh ideas for modern ideas that are really popular at the time, a bit trickier that people like, that might not be as stale, perhaps. I think there are pros and cons to both ages,” she added.

How Lourdes learn to be a great cook at such a young age

Challenge after challenge, Lourdes blew the judges Poh Ling YeowJean-Christophe NovelliSofia Levin and Andy Allen away with her skills.

She explained that there were a number of factors that contributed to her knowledge of the kitchen.

“I would say just the passion for cooking mostly, I mean, I think everyone knows how satisfying it can be to make yourself a really good bowl of pasta and just to enjoy it and to have people enjoy it as well.

“I think the external motivation and validation from people really gets me excited, because it’s so nice to be able to make a cake for someone and then to just adore it. That really makes me happy and fills me with a lot of joy.

The marketing professional added that her vegetarianism also helped her learn new and exciting dishes and techniques.

“Being vegetarian from when I was a teenager, I had to cook a lot of my own meals myself. And that taught me about what good food tastes like and healthy eating, simple eating, and I also developed my dessert repertoire quite a lot.

Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart’s relationship rumours confirmed with a kiss

The onscreen love turned real love between Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart has seemingly been confirmed with a very public kiss.

Photos of the actors, who play husband and wife on the popular soap, kissing on Anzac Day have emerged.

Ada and James seemed smitten as they spent time together at the Royal Hotel in Randwick before they went out for dinner together. You can see the adorable pics here.

Ada hints at her relationship with James in a new interview

James and Ada’s Home and Away characters Justin and Leah got married in early April, and shortly after, it was reported that they were dating IRL.

Now, Leah has given her first interview since the relationship news broke, and she appears to be hinting at her dalliance with James.

Stellar penned a column for Stellar for Mother’s Day, and wrote that she’s learned “to embrace the beauty of imperfection, understanding that my best effort is always good enough.”

She added that she’s found value in being herself.

“The pursuit of perfection in motherhood is a mirage; what truly matters is the happiness and love we share. Johnas doesn’t need the flawless, unblemished version of me; he needs the real, joyful, sometimes frazzled me, who chuckles at the nickname ‘Joan A**’ and can turn a morning drop-off into an impromptu concert,” she wrote.

James and Ada’s relationship

In April, it was reported that Ada had split from her partner of eight years Adam Rigby and shortly after, there was word that she’s been quietly dating James since last year.

The Sunday Telegraph reported that the Home and Away couple are together, and were spotted kissing at a Seven Network Christmas party last year. More recently, they’ve been seen out and about on a date to the movies.

“They weren’t really hiding it,” an onlooker told the publication. “They were holding hands and he touched her bottom numerous times.”

“There was nothing platonic about it,” they added.

James separated and finalised his divorce from former Home and Away star Sarah Roberts in March this year, after five years of marriage.

Apparently, Bert left FWAW alone and he’s now dating one of his eliminated Ladies

In what could be one of the juiciest bombshells in the history of FWAW Australia, it’s been reported that Farmer Bert will leave the show single, and he’s now dating one of his eliminated Ladies.

For weeks, there’s been a rumour floating around that Bert chose to leave the farm alone. Brooke, Karli and Caitlin are all still in the running for the Farmer’s heart, but if reports are to believed, he won’t end up with any of them.

A source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that Bert “was done being a puppet for the producers on his farm,” who encouraged drama.

Bert and Karli. Seven.

“Farmer Bert was really sweet and it was sad to see him being treated like a prop. These two male producers had come from filming FBoy Island and obviously wanted conflict.”

“He actually felt uncomfortable with his producers and their suggestions on how to handle the remaining women,” they added. “He no longer felt like he could go on and pretend just for the show.”

Farmer Bert is rumoured to be dating one of his eliminated Ladies

Yup, not only is Bert leaving FWAW, but he’s apparently struck up a relationship with one of the Ladies that he already eliminated on the show.

The same publication reported that Bert is now in a relationship with Lauren, who chose to quit FWAW when the intruders arrived.

“The show was filmed late last year and while viewers will have their own ideas on who he might have genuinely liked they will be surprised to know he has been romancing one girl who had already left,” the insider said.

They added that Bert was “strong-armed into letting her go [by producers].”

However, it sounds as though the Farmer has found his happily-ever-after with Lauren.

“Farmer Bert is a good guy, and he will have no problems finding someone once the show finishes,” a close friend told the publication. “But he has gotten closer to Lauren and they have been keeping things quiet. I’d say he was fed up with production, and knew he made a mistake letting her leave and was waiting to reconnect.

“He has been in contact with some of the others but it will be Lauren that he picks moving forward. It’s not Karli Hinkley or Caitlin Crank, who many viewers will know he had been spending more on screen time with.”

Umm, Farmer Bert’s latest interview sounds a lot like he’ll be leaving FWAW alone

Ever since Farmer Wants a Wife 2024 kicked off, there’s been a rumour floating around that Farmer Bert leaves the show alone.

While it’s quite clear to viewers that Caitlin and Karli are his front runners, the last published betting odds had Farmer Bert as most likely to leave solo.

Now, Refinery29 has asked Bert about the possibility of leaving the show without a lady love, and his answer doesn’t sound promising for those fans hoping for a love story.

Farmer Bert told the publication that he would only enter a relationship if he was 100% sure about it.

“Right time, right place, right person,” he said. “I say that a few times in the show, and for me, I don’t see the point of being in a relationship if you’re not fully committed. You’re just wasting each other’s time and it’s not very respectful.”

“If the person is right, I’m 100 per cent in,” he added.

What do betting odds say about Farmer Bert leaving solo?

Betting odds for Farmer Wants a Wife have been removed from Sportsbet because the end is nearing. However, the last published bets showed that Farmer Bert had returns of $1.67.

The odds suggested that he was second most likely to leave with Caitlin, who had returns of $2.40. Karli was in third place with a $4.00 return.

Are any of the other Farmers expected to leave the show alone?

We all know that Farmer Dean left FWAW early with Teegan, but what about Farmer Dustin, Farmer Tom, Farmer Joe and Farmer Todd?

All five Farmers had odds indicating that they would leave with one of their chosen Ladies. Joe and Tom had quite high returns of $5.00 to leave alone, while Dustin’s odds sat at $6.00.

“I actually feel sick”: Abbie Chatfield calls out Dom and Ella over an interview with MAFS’ Jack Dunkley

Abbie Chatfield has weighed in on Dom Calarco and Ella Ding‘s controversial interview with MAFS’ Jack Dunkley, which aired on their podcast Sit With Us.

The chat centred around a jarring comment Jack made about Lauren Dunn, in which he told her TV husband Jono McCullough to “put a muzzle on his woman“.

Both Ella and Dom suggested that producers put Lauren in front of Jack at the Dinner parties because she pushed his buttons, which was likely to lead to a reaction from him.

“They would always put her right in front of you. It makes for amazing dinner parties because we sit there eating the popcorn,” Dom said. “Credit to Lauren,” Jack agreed.

Abbie advises Dom and Ella to take the “episode down”

The former MAFS duo posted a clip of in the interview to the podcast’s official social media account, and Abbie took to the comments section to call them out for now addressing the misogynistic undertones behind Jack’s original comment.

“Really disappointing to see the victim blaming here, and the allowance for a man to speak in such a dehumanising way about a woman because she … spoke too much?” She wrote.

“I can’t believe I’m seeing you both dismiss what he said, because he was “pushed”. That’s the excuse for all abusive men. And what he did was verbal abuse. This is really worrying. Particularly in the current climate, this is really incredibly awful.

Abbie Chatfield on FBoy Island

“I feel a bit sick to be honest girls. I’d take this episode down if I were you, apologise, and try to educate yourselves on the inner workings on patriarchy and how you have upheld it in this interview. I actually feel sick,” she finished.

In a follow-up comment, Abbie pointed out that it appeared Dom was concerned that Jack would look bad because of his comment, rather than how Lauren would feel being on the receiving end.

“Also Dom, at the end saying “you have to have known….” I thought you were going to say “that is violent revolting language” or “that is sexist and completely wrong” but instead we focus on … how bad it will be for HIM? What is going on here?” She asked.

At the time of writing, neither the podcast nor Ella or Dom had replied to Abbie’s comment.

Lily on the new judge’s dynamic

MasterChef 2024 has seen a whole new panel of judges – bar returnee Andy Allen. Newcomers Poh Ling Yeow, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Sofia Levin have all donned their judge’s aprons for the first time, following the tragic and untimely death of former judge Jock Zonfrillo.

“I think they’ve they’ve had big shoes to fill this year with everything that’s happened over the last year,” Lily said, touching on Jock’s passing. “I can’t imagine how daunting that is, and I think they’ve all just fallen in and slotted in beautifully.”

“Fantastic mix. All very different palettes as well. Amazing guidance from all four of them.”

Lily explained that while the judges were all very lovely to her, she was aware that their role was to test her.

MasterChef Australia 2024: Meet ‘Aquaman’, Harry Butterfield

Harry Butterfield is undoubtedly MasterChef Australia 2024’s resident seafood guru.

The fisherman got his love of the ocean from his grandfather Ivan, whom he surfed, fished, and swam with when he was younger. He was similarly close with his grandma Yvonne and he’s dedicating his time on the show to them both.

Here’s everything we know about MasterChef Australia 2024’s Harry Butterfield.

He is an adrenaline junkie

Harry absolutely loves adventures, and according to his Channel 10 bio, the home cook has been known to swim for hours in search of crayfish, even in shark-infested waters

When he’s not cooking, he loves to surf, dive, spearfish, hike, and travel. In fact, he’s worked as a snowboarding instructor in Japan and New Zealand.

Is Harry single?

No, he’s not! Harry married his wife Lily at Bangor Vineyard Shed in Tasmania on the 9th of December 2023.

On Instagram, Lily called the wedding the “funniest, loosest formal wedding anyone’s been to” and shared a collection of photos on Instagram.

What is Fins and Tins?

Harry often references the phrase Fins and Tins on MasterChef Australia 2024, and fans may be wondering what he’s referring to.

Harry explained on Instagram Fins and Tins was “a concept started off with mates as our annual trip to K’gari, then it was briefly a catch and cook YouTube channel, and finally a restaurant idea as I started to take cooking more seriously.”

“The theme that remained constant was fresh seafood, cold drinks and good friends.”

In his Channel 10 bio, Harry said that his dream restaurant would “feature quality seafood shared with friends, good beer, wine and live music.”

“Absolutely broken”: Osher Gunsberg on losing The Bachelor and Masked Singer Australia gigs

The Bachelor and The Masked Singer Australia have been axed from Channel Ten and the host of both shows, Osher Gunsberg reveals how he took the news.

The cancellation of the reality shows was announced on May 7, and Osher is the only talent that fronts both of the programs on screen.

Of course, with both shows being taken off air, Osher is losing two hosting jobs. The long-time TV personality took to Instagram to share an uplifting anecdote about how he deals with disappointing obstacles.

“It’s show business, not show friends,” he told the camera on Instagram for his podcast Better Than Yesterday.

Osher compared the news to when he lost his hosting role on Australian Idol

Osher said that he had a “decent idea” that the shows would be cancelled, and it gave him a sense of deja vu.

“This week is really very funny for me because it’s not the first time that I’ve lost two jobs in the same day. To go back to Australian Idol, when that got cancelled, I was absolutely broken,” he explained.

“There was my mentor David who has guide me and helped me as I learn how to live life on life’s terms.”

Osher said that he was really upset when he told David that he’d lost two jobs within 18 hours.

“Without missing a beat he said, “Well I’m excited for you pal. Means there are bigger plans for you!”” He explained.

“I was shocked that he did not want a front-row ticket to the pity party I was throwing, so I repeated myself “I don’t think you heard me man, I’m unemployed.” And, again he was like, “I don’t think you heard me, I’m excited for you. This means there are bigger and better things ahead for you”

Osher said that looking at his problem from a different angle gave him the fighting spirit he needed to succeed.

“That reframe absolutely changed everything,” he said. “My new job was to invent the next job I was going to do.”

“I got up every day, got to my desk, and that’s what I did every day.”

Holy s**t, Sara’s gone rogue on Instagram and dished on the MAFS experts, her co-stars and the editing

Our day just got a little spicier ever since Married At First Sight star Sara Mesa went absolutely rogue on Instagram and dropped allll sorts of bombshells about the experts and her cast mates.

The MAFS bride dished on her unfavourable edit, her feuds with both Cassandra Allen and Eden Harper, and what Jack Dunkley was really like in person.

Check out all of the gossip Sara shared in a Q&A session on her Instagram stories.

Sara calls the Relationship Experts “biased”

Question: “Opinions on the experts?

Sara’s answer: “As human, amazing people! But on the show, very biased. Therapy or counselling should always look at both sides but it was always very one sided. They have a job to do and that’s be entertaining! They nail that.”

Sara on her feud with Cassandra and Eden

Question:Is the stuff about feud with Cass true?

Sara’s answer: “What stuff? I’m actually so confused about this “feud”. The show was filmed a year ago. I have zero qualms with Cassandra. She has her opinion of me and that’s totally fine. I’m moving on with my life and I hope everyone on the show can just focus on themselves & do the same.

Question:Did you and Eden fall out after she told Tim [Calwell] the whole ex situation? She seems so sweet.”

Sara’s answer: “Yes, Eden and I are no longer friends. I really did cherish our friendship at the beginning. As someone who doesn’t have family in Australia, my friends become like family. I tend to get trust people easily when I feel a connection! I only knew Eden a short time but I felt close to her. She may not say the same but everyone is entitled to feel how they want. I have no hard feelings for Eden.

Sara shares what Jack’s really like

Question: “Was Jack as much of an a**hole in person as he was portrayed in the show?”

Sara’s answer: “Nope. He was actually really nice. Just maybe said some dumb things at times. I think we feed into the drama that we are fed by producers at times and they really egg you on to go after people because of it. But seeing Tori and Jack happy makes me believe there was more good to him than we all saw.”

Sara slams the editing on MAFS

Question: “Do you think you were wrongly portrayed on the show?”

Sara’s answer: “All of the reactions you saw were real. However, the full context wasn’t shown at times which made me look crazy. Conversations were chopped & changed to make me look worse. You didn’t see my concerns or my side- you saw it from Tim’s side.

“I am definitely fiery, expressive, outspoken & a strong personality but I also had great moments with Tim that were never shown. They had a narrative they wanted to play out and they did just that. I am taking my bad moments and learning from them. I definitely should have been a better partner to Tim at times however I really struggled to get close to him at the beginning. It felt unnatural and I’m not one to hide how I feel.”
