Network Ten has revealed whether The Masked Singer Australia and The Bachelors Australia have been axed for 2024.
It’s a sad day for reality TV fans, with Channel 10 confirming that both programs won’t be airing in 2024.
“Network 10 will be packing away the masks and roses this year, confirming that The Masked Singer and The Bachelor franchises won’t appear in its program schedule,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement.
The Masked Singer 2024 has been axed
Prior to the official announcement from Channel 10, The Masked Singer Australia judges Dave Hughes and Chrissie Swan confirmed whether the popular singing show has been axed.
The future of The Masked Singer has been up in the air, and Dave has confirmed that it won’t be going ahead in 2024.
“We’ve been waiting on a production schedule. That production schedule has not come through, so as far as I know, The Masked Singer won’t be filmed this year for Channel 10,” he said on his 2Day FM radio show Hughesy, Ed and Erin.
“We’ve had such a great time over those years, it’s been such a fun show to be on, so many great singers have been on,” he continued. “We’ve had great panels. We started with Jackie O, Dannii Minogue, [Lindsay] Lohan, then Urzila Carlson came in, we’ve got Abbie Chatfield, Chrissy Swan, Mel B. All stars in their own right.
“It’s a tough one for the production team.”
Chrissie Swan also confirmed that The Masked Singer has been axed for 2024.
“It was a beautiful time and we loved it, but no,” she said on Nova when asked if the show was returning.
While the news that The Masked Singer won’t be returning in 2024 is disappointing for fans, not all hope is lost.
“I think it will come back, I don’t know when, but I’d say that for the Channel 10 budget this year – doesn’t have enough money for it,” Dave explained.
“Apparently it’s an expensive show to produce.”
The Bachelor Australia 2024 has been axed
Bachelor Nation is likely in mourning, as the long-running dating show won’t be returning in 2024.
Ahead of the official news, host Osher Günsberg hinted at its cancellation.
“I tell you what, I haven’t cancelled our trip to Fiji, which is in the middle of the shooting window we normally have [for The Bachelors],” he said on Hughesy, Ed and Erin.
