The Block 2026 information air date premiere teams contestants

If you’re counting down the days until The Block returns, the wait is almost over. The 2026 premiere date is set for August 2, which means it won’t be long before a fresh batch of contestants are thrown into the deep end to tackle ambitious renovations with a side of drama.

Week by week, viewers will watch contestants transform different rooms in their houses as part of the renovation challenge. Once the homes are completed, they’ll go under the hammer at auction, with contestants keeping whatever amount the property sells for above the reserve price.

A big change is coming to The Block 2026

In a very Big Brother-esque twist, news.com.au is reporting that The Block’s 2026 contestants will live together in a share house this season — a significant shift from the show’s stars previously living in separate living quarters.

Unlike last year’s Daylesford teams, the five couples will not have separate luxury caravans. They will cohabitate in a Mornington property that was actually renovated by former 2025 favourites, Emma and Ben. The four-bedroom home at 18 Brydon Close is expected to house all ten contestants during the show’s latest season.

The Block’s executive producer and creator, Julian Cress, told news.com.au that this could mean the “competitive tension remains constant,” as contestants are forced to spend every second together — aka this could bring a lot of drama to the show.

“While living together offers opportunities for shared meals and camaraderie, it also ensures the competitive tension remains constant as contestants spend nearly every waking hour in each other’s company,” Cress said.

When does The Block 2026 start?

The official air date for The Block 2026 has been confirmed to be August 2, 2026, so it’s just around the corner!

The show normally starts to air on TV right when the contestants are finishing up the final touches on their houses IRL, and we know that filming has been underway in Mt Eliza for a while now.

According to Realestate.com.au, the cameras started rolling for the new season on March 9 at 109 Old Mornington Rd, Mt Eliza, and the schedule for the entire project spanned approximately three months, bringing the wrap date to mid-June.

Of course, there’s still the live auctions to come, which take place once the entire season has aired, and ultimately determine the winner. This event normally takes place around late October.

Who’s in The Block 2026 cast?

The five teams competing on The Block 2026 are Adam and Jolene, Courtney and Sev, Rick and Tayla, Lisa and Rosco, and Chantel and Wyatt.

Adam and Jolene, hailing from South Australia, are cattle station managers. They’re married with five adult children between them. Qualified carpenter Adam leads construction, while experienced renovator Jolene takes charge of interior styling.

Courtney and Sev are two Brisbane best friends who bring formidable experience. Courtney manages commercial construction sites, while interior designer Sev handles creative decisions, giving this team a particularly strong balance in skills.

Rick and Tayla are a Victorian father-daughter duo, combining nearly five decades of carpentry experience with energetic styling ideas. Builder Rick tackles construction, while personal trainer and salon owner Tayla leads design.

Perth couple, Lisa and Rosco, have already completed extensive hands-on renovations. Paramedic and nurse Lisa focuses on details, while FIFO logistics worker Rosco leads building projects for their young family.

Gold Coast couple, Chantel and Wyatt, are fitness lovers with construction experience and a competitive streak. Chantel oversees design, while former soldier and personal trainer Wyatt manages the building work.

Where is The Block 2026 filmed?

This year, The Block is taking place in the seaside suburb of Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, which is about 48 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s CBD.

Mount Eliza is a family-oriented coastal suburb with a population of around 19,000 people. For the 2026 season, contestants will be renovating homes located on the same street at 109 Old Mornington Road, a spot that overlooks the bay with Melbourne’s skyline visible in the distance.
