Channel 10 confirm multi-year Survivor deal squashing Jonathan LaPaglia return rumours

A good chunk of the nation was left heartbroken after it was officially announced that Jonathan LaPaglia had been fired from his role as host of Australian Survivor.

In June, the network confirmed that Jonathan had been let go, and in August, it was revealed that former Australian Survivor winner David Genat was taking over the gig, starting with Australian Survivor 2026.

While fans who loved Jonathan as host have expressed outrage and even started a petition to get him back, a technical twist gave hope that he may return to the show.

Woman’s Day reported that Channel 10’s rights to Australian Survivor were set to expire next year, and said that Jonathan was already in talks with Channel 9, which hopes to acquire the popular reality show.

“Network Ten’s rights to Australian Survivor are set to expire next year and everyone is worried that the show could be snapped up by a rival network,” a TV producer told the publication.

However, Channel 10 has ruled out the rumour that Australian Survivor will be changing networks in the near future.

Insider claims Jonathan LaPaglia is in talks to return as host of Australian Survivor

If Channel 9 were to try and acquire Survivor next year, it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve taken a show from Channel 10.

“Everyone is expecting Channel Nine to make a play for the show — they’ve already stolen The Bachelor franchise from Network Ten and The Golden Bachelor so it would be just another sign of Nine giving another reality TV franchise a second life on their network,” the Woman’s Day source said.

The publication reported that Channel 9 have already “promised” to reinstate Jonathan’s job as host if they were to score Australian Survivor.

“There’s no doubt that Nine would bring back Jonathan LaPaglia and that would be the perfect way to make some noise and get the franchise back on track,” the insider said, adding, “I don’t see this as the end of Jonathan’s time in the Australian Survivor universe.”

Channel 10 shutdown rumours that Australian Survivor is moving networks

Shortly after the rumours of the network switch-up and Jonathan LaPaglia‘s possible return started circulating, Channel 10 confirmed that they have a multi-year deal with both Australian Survivor, and David as host.

“10 has a multi-year deal for both the show and the new host. The only place to watch Australian Survivor is on 10,” a spokesperson told Daily Mail.

Reactions to David Genat being announced as the new Australian Survivor host

Immediately after David Genat‘s elimination from Survivor: Australia v The World aired on Tuesday night, his new hosting role was revealed.

“I have so much respect for Australian Survivor. This game has changed my life. I love the players, I love the community of fans and I love the crew who make it happen. As the new host of Australian Survivor, I won’t let you down,” The joint post between David and the show’s official Instagram account read.

While many of the comments were supportive of David’s new gig, a lot of fans aired their devastation that Jonathan had been let go from the franchise.

“Wishing you all the very best! I’ll miss JLP but you are a brilliant replacement,” one person wrote.

“The end of an iconic era with JLP, but I’m so excited to see @davidgenat serving it at tribal and snuffing those torches! Congrats dear friend. A worthy rival, and now a most worthy host!” Two-time Australian Survivor contestant Sharn Coombes wrote.

Survivor: Australia v The World airs at 7pm on Sundays, and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

From the cut-throat ‘high achievers’ to the ‘feisty cousins’: Meet the cast of MKR 2025

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) has won over legions of fans with its relatable approach to cooking, usually featuring a cast of amateur cooks who aren’t scared of a bit of drama.

And, the MKR 2025 cast seems to be sticking to the tried-and-tested formula, with some interesting personalities among the bunch.

Six teams will compete this year to win $100,000, and as usual we can expect big personalities and even bigger flavours.

Hosts, judges, and BFFS, Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge, are returning for the 2025 season, with Manu citing it’ll be a “very interesting season around the dinner table”. Colin backed him up, saying, “There are many different personalities at the table, all firing at 110%. We have some controversial dishes, one in particular that will divide the table and the nation.”

Mel and Jacinta

Mel and Jacinta My Kitchen Rules
Mel and Jacinta are here to prove healthy doesn’t have to be boring. Image: Seven

The feisty cousins from NSW know how to stir the pot, and they’re here to do it! Jacinta loves to surprise people with her health-focused meals, focusing on gluten-free and vegan dishes, with Mel also liking to dabble in nutritious feasts. The two dream of creating a cookbook that proves food can be healthy, delicious and affordable.

Justin and Will

Best mates Justin and Will met through their wives 12 years ago and said it was “bromance at first sight”. Justin is a gym owner and foodie, who gained a popular online presence after making videos for his gym members, while Will is a former NRL player whose ultimate love language is food.

The two plan to lean on their cultural roots, with Justin looking to draw inspiration from his South African heritage while Will credits his late father to his love of food, with food playing an important role in Togan culture.

Anne and Maree

Anne and Maree are a dynamic mother-daughter duo who are proud of their heritage and ready to bring a taste of Greece to MKR.

The duo say that cooking is more than just a tradition: it’s “love, legacy and a tribute” to their family whenever they step into the kitchen. “I want you to feel part of a big Greek family,” Anne says in the promo.

Their secret weapon is a handwritten cookbook passed down from Anne’s late mother, with the team ready to pay tribute to Yia-yia’s legacy. And it looks like they do it beautifully, with Colin Fassnidge seen saying in the promo, “This is seasoned with love… I thought I was in Greece.”

Maria and Bailey

Maria and Bailey are self-proclaimed “high achievers from South Australia. Maria owns her own company and Bailey runs five companies.

“We’re here to win. We want to be on top,” Maria proclaims.

Bailey adds: “I don’t care if we have to be really cut-throat.”

Viewers can expect fine dining with an upper-class flair from the ambitious duo.

Lol and Lil

Lol and Lil are lifelong best friends from Queensland, who are full or energy and determined to prove they’re the perfect balance of sugar and spice for MKR

However, it doesn’t appear that they’ll be as well received as they’d hope, with one competing team calling them the ‘Logan Bogans’ at an Instant Restaurant.

Regardless, the blonde besties clearly have some skill in the kitchen, with judge Colin Fassnidge declaring in the trailer that their Instant Restaurant menu is  “sunshine on a plate”.

Michael and Rielli

Michael is a self-proclaimed meatmaster, and he’s joining MKR with his partner Rielli, who is a baking queen.

While they sound like the perfect MKR team, it looks as though they’ll be involved in some confrontation at the dinner table. Michael’s meat-heavy menu is set to rile up fellow competitor Jactinta, a nutritionist.

Plus, viewers can expect some spice as Michael and Rielli are set to send shockwaves through the competition with a dish that judge Colin warns will “divide the table and divide the nation.”

When will MKR 2025 premiere?

MKR 2025 will premiere on Monday, September 1, on Channel Seven and 7plus at 7:30pm.

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 will air on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Home and Away fans are ‘crying’ over return of fan favourite characters

Home and Away has announced that fan favourite characters Brax (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) will return to screens in 2026 in a guest appearance.

The last time we saw Brax and Ricky on our screens was in 2016, when the two departed the Bay for good after many dramas, including Brax’s imprisonment, faking his own death, and then returning to let Ricky know he was really alive just when she had moved on and married someone else.

Classic Home and Away.

How will Brax and Ricky return to Home and Away?

Now, Brax and Ricky are allegedly living life somewhere in Western Australia with their son Casey, with the show teaming up with Tourism Western Australia for the special episodes.

After news of the return was announced, actor Stephen Peacocke said, “When the producers asked if I’d revisit Brax, it felt like a fun opportunity – and one I think the audience will really enjoy. Filming in spectacular outback Western Australia is the icing on the cake, and we can’t wait to welcome one lucky UK fan and their guest onto set with us.”

Bonnie Sveen added, “Bringing Ricky back wasn’t something I’d ever expected, so I’m beyond thrilled to reunite with Steve and old friends at Home and Away. Exploring where Ricky and Brax are now, 10 years on, will make for a very special and compelling storyline – and I can’t wait for our WA filming adventure.”

Home and Away fans are thrilled for the return of Brax and Ricky, but some have concerns

Needless to say Home and Away fans are very excited, with some saying they haven’t even watched the show since Brax and Ricky left nearly 10 years ago.

“I haven’t watched Home and Away since they left, so I’m excited for them to come back and definitely gonna watch it when they do,” one person commented on Instagram, with another saying, “Omg I don’t think I’ve watched Home and Away since Brax and Ricky left! I’m still traumatised from when Casey [Brax’s brother] died.”

Many fans also felt emotional about the news. “I just gasped out loud when I read this and my husband thought someone had died,” one person said.

“I’m crying and vomiting I’m so excited!” one thrilled fan commented, with another saying, “Crying, screaming, throwing up. I can’t believe it! I knew this day would come! I just knew it!”

Despite the excitement, some fans had reservations after Home and Away brought back beloved characters Dean and Ziggy earlier this year.

home-and-away-ziggy-dean-return

“OMG, but really hope it’s a better storyline than Dean & Ziggy’s return,” one person said. “It will be fantastic to see them again, H&A has never been so good as when these two were on it. But I wish they’d come back to the Bay. Not keen on these ‘events’ like they did with Dean and Ziggy. Bring them home and make they stay!” another fan stated.

Home and Away airs 7pm Monday to Thursday on Seven and 7plus.

Survivor’s Tony fires back at Parvati’s ‘kitty’s got claws’ dig

Two-time Survivor US winner Tony Vlachos was the latest casualty on Survivor: Australia v The World after his ally Parvati Shallow joined a unanimous vote against him.

Unbeknownst to Tony at the time, Parvati was one of the only World tribe members advocating for him to stay.

However, at the Tribal Council that aired on August 24, with the knowledge that his head was on the chopping block, Tony put Parvati in he firing line by accusing her of having a secret key to an advantage box the tribe was trying to open.

While Tony was correct in assuming that Parvati had found the key, she’d shared that with her alliance members Kass, Cirie and Lisa, who all knew the box held an Immunity Idol clue. But Tony’s revelation has the women questioning if Parvati had betrayed them and told Tony about their advantage.

Tony’s attack on Parvati cemented her decision to vote for him, telling the camera “Kitty’s got claws” while showing her parchment with his name written down.

How did Tony respond to Parvati voting for him on Survivor: Australia v The World?

Immediately after the episode aired, Tony took to Instagram with a screenshot of the moment from the Chattr Instagram account and sassily called Parvati out.

“Kitty ain’t got claws! Kittys got an #IMMUNITY necklace AND an idol at her arms reach at #tribal! THATS what kitty’s got which gives kitty that confidence to say: KITTYS GOT CLAWS!, ” he wrote.

Tony was referring to the advantage that was in the previously locked box, which informed the players that there was an Immunity Idol hidden at host Jonathan LaPaglia‘s stand during that specific Tribal Council.

While Parvati, Cirie, Lisa and Kass all knew about the Idol’s location, when the Tribal ended, Parvati hung back and secretly grabbed it on her way out.

Will Parvati’s devious move ruffle feathers between her current alliance? We can’t wait to find out!

Survivor: Australia v The World airs at 7pm on Sundays, and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MAFS’ Katie spills on the possibility of being The Bachelorette

Katie Johnston had a rough ride on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 this year. She was matched with groom Tim Gromie, who told her he preferred “petite” women with blonde or brunette hair.

The couple didn’t last long, and Katie recently made a bold call on Instagram, putting herself forward as the next Bachelorette on the popular dating show.

She tells Chattr her post was “for a laugh”, but wouldn’t say no if producers came knocking.

“As for The Bachelorette, I’d love options. It’d be a good catch up on my lousy dating history these last few years. And best case scenario I’d find love,” Katie spills.

“But realistically, I don’t think it’s going to happen for me. I’ll just have to resort to asking ChatGPT for help to date.”

Tim and Katie on MAFS 2025

She says her current dating life is “non existent at the moment”, but isn’t worried or concerned about finding her one true love anytime soon.

“Life is great. Research shows that single women live longer, so I’m leaning into that,” she explains. “I’m warmed that many people want to see me happy and find love, but I am happy, and self love is the best kind anyway.”

Would Katie go on MAFS for a second time?

Some of Katie’s MAFS co-stars have expressed a desire to get back on the show, including Carina Mirabile and Adrian Araouzou, but this bride doesn’t see herself going through the process for a second time.

“I like to have random life adventures, but I don’t think MAFS is on the bingo card,” Katie says.

Some of the MAFS star’s followers want to see her back on reality TV, with many flooding her comment section with opinions.

“I would watch!” one person said.

“I think go for it, there have been many successful relationships from reality TV, don’t listen to negative people who tell you to let it come to you. Sometimes you have to go get what you want… I would definitely watch you as the Bachelorette,” another wrote.

“Yes girl!! You go get your man! Only the best is good enough!”

However, there were plenty of fans who warned Katie against the perils of reality TV.

“Don’t do it. It’s tacky. You are gorgeous inside and out and someone out there will find you. It may take some time but you’re worth it,” one fan advised.

“The only man worthy of you is the one that works on getting you. Please don’t do any more reality shows. You don’t need a man,” another added.

“Please don’t do any shows for love. It will find you. So many men do these programs for the wrong reasons. I don’t want your growth and changes to be pulled apart on TV,” a third chimed in.

Fans also said Katie might be better suited to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! or another dating show that doesn’t revolve around finding love. Either way, it would certainly be interesting to see her back on our screens.

You can stream Married At First Sight on 9Now.

The truth about The Block’s Han and Can revealed by insider

The Block 2025 has been filled with drama, and controversial contestants Han and Can have been at the centre of most of it. The couple from WA were called out by their fellow contestants for missing a group dinner, and Han recently had a stoush with Foreman Dan.

The pair have told Chattr they see the cast as a “little family” and are close with Sonny and Alicia, so the drama we see on screen might all be for show.

According to New Idea, the nicknames Han and Can were chosen by producers, as the couple usually go by Hannah and Candy back home.

“They weren’t totally comfortable with it at first. But eventually they went along with it for the sake of the show,” a source claimed.

“If someone says ‘Hannah’ or ‘Candy’, they know them personally. But if it’s ‘Han’ and ‘Can’, that’s definitely a Block viewer.”

Could this be why Han and Can seem to be on the outside on TV but are supposedly close behind the scenes with the other contestants?

The pair told Chattr the entire cast received matching tattoos at The Block launch and stayed together in an Airbnb after filming.

“Later in the season, we became especially close with Sonny and Leish, we supported each other through the highs and lows and built a bond based on genuine care,” they said.

An insider spills on Han and Can’s reaction to backlash

Han and Can have been through a rough few weeks on The Block, and viewer reaction to the pair hasn’t been very positive. An insider told New Idea it was “a bit of a shock” for the duo, but claimed they understand how reality TV works.

“Honestly [it was] disappointing for the girls. When the show’s over, they’ll be looking forward to moving on from the ‘Han and Can’ brand if things keep up the way they have been on the show,” the insider spilled.

“It’s the nature of these shows, and the girls get that.”

One thing’s for sure: Han and Can are providing elite entertainment and keeping viewers hooked. Fingers crossed they don’t have any other massive setbacks in the next few weeks.

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

The Voice contestant hits back at rumours she’s an ‘industry plant’

It didn’t take fans long to recognise The Voice 2025 contestant Cassie Henderson, who’s already a successful artist in New Zealand — sparking accusations that she might be an industry plant.

In 2024, the 26-year-old released her single Seconds to Midnight, which stayed at number one on the RadioScope NZ Airplay Charts for 15 weeks. She went on to win Best Pop Artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards earlier in 2025.

Cassie also came fifth on X Factor New Zealand in 2013 when she was just 14 years old, and recently opened for US star Alex Warren’s tour leg in New Zealand

Industry accomplishments as impressive as these are rare for a The Voice contestant, as the show usually propels unknown artists into the spotlight.

On TikTok, fans started to question why seemingly successful artists were auditioning for the show. “They do know she has been hugely successful already, hey?” one person said after the judges all turned their chairs for Cassie.

The Voice Australia’s Cassie Henderson responds to speculation that she’s an industry plant

As speculation grew, ZM New Zealand radio hosts Bree and Clint asked Cassie directly whether she was an industry plant.

“No, sadly, I’m not,” Cassie responded. “I have been working so hard for the past five years.

“I think people think I’m too established to do something like this, because there’s a misconception that I have, like, a big label deal and, like, this big team behind me. But the reality is I’m living with my parents in, like, a dungeon doing all of this mostly myself.

“So it’s really important for us to get out onto the international stage, and I really just wanted to try and challenge myself and see if I could rise up to that and try and make Kiwis proud.”

Are there any other established artists on The Voice Australia 2025?

While The Voice Australia 2025 Blind Auditions are still ongoing and all the teams haven’t been completed yet, there’s already another recognisable name among the mix.

Charlie O’Derry, who is part of Kate Miller-Heidke’s team, recently went on tour with Thelma Plum, and released his first single earlier this year.

In past seasons, The Voice Australia has also seen its fair share of familiar faces, including Jack Vidgen, who won Australia’s Got Talent in 2011; Lee Harding, who rose to fame on Australian Idol in 2005; Chris Sebastian, brother of Guy Sebastian.

The Voice Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday and Tuesday and 7:30pm on Channel Seven and 7plus.

Rebecca Breeds reveals Home and Away easter eggs in Kangaroo Island

Former Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds can’t escape her Summer Bay past — even when she’s playing a completely different character. In her new movie, Kangaroo Island, there are two easter eggs that hint towards her time spent playing Ruby Buckton on the Aussie soap.

Rebecca tells Chattr that the first reference to Home and Away was a complete coincidence.

“I couldn’t believe [it]. Sally [Gifford], the writer, had written this moment at the top of the film where they’re recognising me from a soap. It’s not an Australian soap, the character was on an American soap,” Rebecca explains. “They go, ‘Oh, [you were] Sasha, the tyre slasher’. And I was like, Sally, you know that my character slashed tyres in Home and Away, she went to jail, it was very contentious.”

It turns out Sally had no idea about Ruby’s scheming ways in Summer Bay, and she had put the little easter egg into the script without meaning to.

“I was like, ‘What are the odds you wrote that she’s a tyre slasher… how many characters slash tyres?’,” Rebecca recalls. “There were lots of synchronicities in the film that just made me go, oh, this is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing right now. And this is definitely the right thing, to take this role.”

Rebecca Breeds as Ruby Buckton in Home and Away

The second Home and Away reference is a little more blatant. After the tension ramps up between Rebecca’s character Lou, her father and sister, Auntie Rosie lets out a zinger. “There’s more drama than Home and Away,” she quips.

“Yes, she says ‘there’s more drama than Home and Away,’ which was obviously… the writer couldn’t help herself. And it’s true, there’s a lot of drama in Home and Away,” Rebecca says.

“It was actually pretty funny. But [while] there is a lot of drama in the family, I’d like to think it’s very grounded as well.”

What is Kangaroo Island about?

Kangaroo Island follows the character of Lou, a South Australian woman who left her small hometown to chase big dreams of an acting career in Hollywood. After some bad decisions and fate intervening, she ends up flying back to Australia to visit her family with her tail between her legs.

Kangaroo Island Rebecca Breeds
Rebecca as Lou in Kangaroo Island. Image: Maslow Entertainment

Kangaroo Island is what has been described as a love letter to Australia,” Rebecca says. “[Lou] has to face a lot of what she ran away from. But in doing that, she kind of baptises herself in the beauty that is Australia, and comes home, not just to her family, to where she’s from but herself.”

It’s witty, tugs on the heartstrings and will likely leave you in a puddle of tears. “She finds a lot of catharsis and a lot of healing [with her family in Australia]. But along the way, she has a lot of fun,” she adds. “[Lou is] a bit of a mess… but she comes back together and comes back to life, really. It’s quite a beautiful and inspirational film in the end.”

Kangaroo Island is in cinemas now.

Rebecca Breeds on how her role in Kangaroo Island reflects life as a new mum

Rebecca Breeds is one of Australia’s big entertainment success stories — she went from playing teenager Ruby Buckton on Home and Away to a leading role in the Hollywood show Clarice, and a recurring role on Pretty Little Liars. Now, she has returned to her roots, taking on the multi-faceted role of Lou in Kangaroo Island, set against the stunning backdrop of South Australia.

Rebecca tells Chattr it was “heaven” to leave Hollywood and come home to film, because it almost doesn’t feel like work. “You have such a rapport with everyone in Australia. You just kind of get each other. You come from the same culture, you have that same kind of vibe about you,” she gushes.

“Every time I come home and work, it’s like soul food. You just feel your tank filling back up and to be in my natural accent as well, you just get to be so grounded in yourself.”

Rebecca describes Kangaroo Island as a “love letter to Australia” and is visibly proud of what the filmmakers have achieved. The film follows Lou, a woman whose decision to move to the USA to chase an acting dream didn’t pan out, and she ends up coming home with her tail between her legs. She has a complicated relationship with her father, sister and her ex — who happens to be married to her sister — and it raises questions around grief, whether family can do more harm than good, and how you can move on with life when it gets really messy.

It’s not always easy for actors to find the perfect roles, but Rebecca was drawn to Kangaroo Island’s script. “Lou is a complex character. Often, you know, there are some two-dimensional characters you tend to go for, [but] she was very, very full-bodied. And not only that, she was kind of gritty,” the actor says. “When we find her at the beginning of the film, she’s a mess, and I loved that. It was so refreshing to me to not have to be like, preened and you know, pretty and well behaved… there’s just like no makeup. Or what makeup I had is rolling off my face.”

Rebecca recently welcomed her first child with husband — and fellow former Home and Away star — Luke Mitchell, so themes of sacrificing parts of yourself for family from the film are also present in her life.

“You have your dreams, but then you meet the baby of your dreams, and you’re like, well, of course you need to come first,” she says. “I do understand it’s a long game. And yes, this period of time is obviously going to be more intense, but there’s going to be a period of time in my life where he’s like, ‘Mum, get a life’… if he’s all that I exist for, then that’s not very healthy.”

Rebecca Breeds as Lou in Kangaroo Island. Image: Maslow Entertainment

The pair currently live in Chicago for Luke’s job playing Dr Mitch Ripley in Chicago Med, and naturally, Rebecca has been thinking about work-life balance and family.

“A lot of our conversations at the moment are about finding that balance of how much to work and what’s good for all of us long term,” she tells us. “I’m really committed to showing [our child] a full-bodied person, showing him how to take care of yourself, and how that makes me a better mum…. I love what I do. It nourishes me, and it inspires me, and I love the challenge of it. It gives me so much drive, and I think it’s healthy for him to see me doing that as well.”

Rebecca Breeds on Kangaroo Island’s strong message

There’s many complex emotions and storylines throughout Kangaroo Island, but the one core theme tying it all together is the idea of family. How important is family, can you turn your back on blood, and is there a way to forgive moments which had devastating consequences?

Rebecca tells us that the heart of the film is the idea that family is “so important,” and this can also include the family you choose.

“We all need connection. We all need each other. We are not an island… despite the title of the film Kangaroo Island, it’s kind of saying no man is an island,” she explains. “We can’t survive stranded by ourselves, and nor should we, no matter what we’ve been through. Family is a soft place to land, even if you don’t think it will be.”

Kangaroo Island tackles different topics, from terminal illness to death and grief, but Rebecca wanted to take on this role to “help people”.

“That’s why we do what we do, right?” she says. “It is cathartic. You do feel seen, and I think that’s really powerful stuff.”

Kangaroo Island is in cinemas now.

Perfect Match 2025: Which couples are still together and who’s broken up?

If you’re looking to fill the gap that Married At First Sight left earlier this year, while waiting for The Golden Bachelor to premiere, then Netflix’s Perfect Match might be right up your alley.

Hosted by Nick Lachey, Netflix’s godfather of love, Perfect Match 2025 brought together 22 hot singles from shows like Love Is Blind, The Ultimatum, and Too Hot To Handle, but this season also featured contestants from even MORE reality shows like The Bachelor and Love Island.

The beautiful, sexy singles were then sent to a tropical paradise, where they competed in compatibility challenges, looked hot, and made out with each other in the hopes of finding love.

So did anyone find everlasting love?

Here’s who’s still together from Perfect Match 2025 (and who’s not)

The following quotes from the couples were obtained from their interviews with Netflix’s site Tudum.

AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland

Runner-up couple AD and Ollie have become Season 3’s biggest success story, with the couple still going strong, engaged, and expecting their first child together.

However, it wasn’t all fun and games for the pair, with the two having to get over some major hurdles… like Ollie’s kiss with Justine and then his choice to lie about it.

AD was able to forgive and forget, and since then, the two have prioritised making their relationship work, going the distance… literally. “Obviously, you’re talking big plans, a cross-continent relationship. It is pretty much as long-distance as you can get,” Ollie said, with AD based in North Carolina and Ollie based in the UK. “But we’re both committed to making it work.”

“Our relationship is built on intentionality and making sure we are who we say we are and do what we say we’re going to do,” AD said.

The season winners Lucy and Daniel won the show after the final compatibility challenge, securing an all-expenses paid trip to Fiji which they vowed to take together. However, the couple broke up only a few weeks after filming ended.

Daniel cited long distance being difficult, while Lucy admitted they didn’t end up going to Fiji. “I think we both knew it wasn’t going to work and thought it would be unfair to go on the trip,” she said. “So I’m hoping to gift it to Ollie and AD.”

Freddie Powell and Madison Errichiello

Fresh from their respective Love Is Blind experiences, Freddie and Madison’s chemistry was unwaveringly strong from the start, but sadly the two split after filming. They cited long distance as the reason, with Madison currently residing in Minneapolis, while Freddie lives in Manchester, UK.

Madison said she had a ticket booked to go visit Freddie in the UK, but when she found out he was having to work for most of her trip, they had to figure out whether they could make things work across the ocean. “The time difference was really hard for us,” Madison said, saying Freddie was often busy with his work and family. “It just would’ve felt like never enough, so we made a decision,” Freddie said.

Sparks flew between Too Hot To Handle’s Louis and The Ultimatum’s Sandy but both are at peace with the outcome of their now-fizzled relationship.

Sandy said out of the Perfect Match bubble, nothing “really happened romantically” between the pair. “But we are totally good, and we did have a lot of fun together,” she said. Louis agreed, saying, “The way we left it was so positive. We respect each other.”

Rachel Recchia and Ray Gantt

Rachel and Ray matched quite late in the competition, meaning they were at a slight disadvantage to some of the other couples. Needless to say, they’re following the pattern of most of our couples and are no longer together. “We had no time on the show,” Rachel said. “When we left, things changed so quickly.”

However the two are good friends, with Ray saying they’re a “big part of each other’s lives.” “She’ll always have a special place in my heart,” Ray said, while Rachel added, “We truly are there for each other and see each other often.”

In some extra tea, Rachel later hinted that some couples — who had split — reconnected afterwards during a Netflix Summer Break event. Juicy!

Home and Away fans are mourning the loss of an iconic character: ‘In tears’

Home and Away fans are sharing their favourite things about beloved character Irene Roberts (played by Lynne McGranger) after we bid a sad goodbye to her on our screens in last night’s episode.

Irene was first introduced to Summer Bay for a brief stint in 1991, before Lynne was recast in the role and stepped into Irene’s shoes in 1993. From fostering kids to running the diner and narrowly escaping numerous catastrophic events, Irene was a core part of the Bay, and fans are devastated to see her go after 32 years on our screens.

What happened to Irene Roberts?

Irene will be missed. Image: Seven

In the lead up to Irene’s departure from our screens, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease which prompts her to sell her house and go see the world while she still can.

Lynne McGranger came up with the idea and took it to the Home and Away scriptwriters, but joked that she would’ve been happy if Irene was “hit by a bus outside the Diner.”

In her final episode, Irene celebrates her departure with all her friends in Summer Bay by throwing a party with Theo (Matt Evans) and Justin (James Stewart) performing some songs. She leaves the party arm in arm with John Palmer (Shane Withington) before surprising John with a flight ticket to come meet her in Paris.

Fans mourn the loss of Home and Away’s Irene

Fans have taken to social media to share their favourite things about Irene after her sad departure.

“Irene will always be remembered as a sweet, caring loving mother who took in so many kids/adults like her own family,” one person commented. “I just remember Irene as being such a beautiful loving soul. She took so many foster kids in and just did so much for them. She had so much love to give. She was a beautiful character,” another fan said.

“Remember Irene started out as an alcoholic addicted mother whose life was a complete mess, [and] she turned her life around. In doing so, [she] not only saved her own life but the lives of so many others that she took into her heart and home. That’s the real meaning behind this sensational Australian character (everyone deserves a second chance),” one person reminisced.

Of course, many tears were shed for Irene, but some Home and Away fans are hoping it’s not goodbye

“In tears saying goodbye to Irene on our screens! You have been a permanent figure each night on the TV growing up, Lynne! We will miss you,” one emotional person said. “Why couldn’t I stop crying?! I can’t even remember the last time I cried watching TV!” another commented.

Other fans are still hoping it’s not the very last time we see Irene. “I wonder if she would ever return for a guest appearance in the future, exploring Irene’s story further down the line?” one person questioned. “That would be an interesting direction for the show to take.”

Home and Away airs 7pm Monday to Thursday on Seven and 7plus.

Australian Survivor’s King George is backing this player to win: ‘Couldn’t be more proud’

Love him or hate him, Australian Survivor’s King George Mladenov is one of the format’s most recognisable players. He’s known for producing the “greatest Tribal ever”, and isn’t afraid to scheme and manipulate. Sadly, his forceful strategy on Survivor: Australia v The World didn’t pay off, and he was blindsided by the Aussie Tribe on Tuesday night.

He doesn’t appear to hold any grudges, and he’s actually rooting for the player who said his name first: Shonee Bowtell. The pair had a tight-knit alliance the last time they played, called the Spice Girls, but George stabbed Shonee in the back. She’s finally got her revenge, and King George wants to see her go all the way.

“I couldn’t be more proud to see you get your revenge. GO. AND. WIN!!!!” he told Shonee on Instagram. “Best five days of vibing and laughing.”

In a tribute post to Survivor: Australia v The World, he penned a statement that sounded like a farewell to the franchise. Could this be the last we see of King George? “To play Survivor for Australia and help make Australian Survivor go global has been the greatest honour,” he wrote. “Thank you to Jonathan LaPaglia, the incredible Australian Survivor crew, and Channel 10 for giving me the chance to live this dream.

Survivor has tested every part of me, but given me even more in return; memories, friendships, and the honour of representing Australia on the world stage. For that, I’ll be forever thankful. Go and win Shonee.”

Jonathan LaPaglia and Survivor players react to George’s exit

In a tribute post to George, his frenemy Shonee shared what she loved most about her former ally.

“George will tell you he is the best player himself… but he really is ONE of the best,” she said. “Soooo smart, calculated and FUNNY!!!! You can’t not have a good time around him. But it had to be done! I will miss you and our laughs everyday!!!”

Host JLP called George a “legend” and thanked him for playing so hard.

“Let’s be honest GEORGE, you invented big mov-itis! It seems you may have taught your subjects too well,” he said.

“Sad to see you go so early. It’s always so much fun having you on the show! A LEGEND of the game, your contribution has been pivotal to the evolution of Australian Survivor. Until next time my friend.”

Other former castaways were quick to share their praise for King George.

“An icon who helped launch our franchise to the world stage. Every Australian player should salute your legacy,” Nick Iadanza wrote.

“Nooooo! You are a bloody superstar and it’s an honour to have played alongside you (even for 30 seconds). Now come and have some consolation bitty,” added Anjali Rao.

First the Golden God, and now the King? These big Australian players are dropping like flies. Let’s hope we don’t lose any other big names next week.

Survivor: Australia v The World airs at 7pm on Sundays, and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MAFS’ Billy addresses Lauren dating rumours after video goes viral

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 may have wrapped up months ago, but the drama keeps swirling. While Billy Belcher and Awhina Rutene kept teasing a potential romantic relationship, the MAFS groom has confirmed he’s single and ready to mingle… with another MAFS bride?!

A video of former MAFS bride Lauren Dunn cosying up with Billy was shared on the MAFS Gossip Instagram account, quickly attracting a bunch of comments and racking up over 100,000 views. Are these two now dating, or is there more to the story?

“Me and Lauren ain’t dating,” Billy tells Chattr.

“I love [the rumours it] keeps me entertained. You just get spotted with someone, and automatically you’re dating. Me and Lauren have been friends for ages.”

Would Billy go on MAFS again?

Billy didn’t have the greatest time on MAFS, clashing with his match Sierah Swepstone. He was furious when Sierah met Awhina’s husband, Adrian Araouzou, for a “plate of meat”, and even suggested a couple swap.

So, would he dip his toes back into the experiment and give MAFS another go? According to the groom, if producers “paired [him] with [his] type”, he would say yes. But after his rough experience on the show, his list of non-negotiables is very long.

We haven’t seen many people return to the show in the past, with Eliot Donovan being paired twice on MAFS 2025 and Elizabeth Sobinoff trying to find love on Season 6 and Season 7. There have been countless rumours of a MAFS: All Stars season getting off the ground, so there’s still a chance Billy could find his perfect match on reality TV in the future.

Billy’s castmate Carina Mirabile previously told Chattr she wants to be on MAFS: All Stars if it goes ahead, saying: “After my experience on MAFS, I’ve grown so much emotionally and mentally, and how I approach relationships. I didn’t get the love story I hoped for, but I stayed true to myself, and I’m proud of that but let’s be real — people made judgements about who I am based on just a snapshot of me.

“There’s so much more to show, and I’d love the chance to really let people in on the full Carina. The Taurus is ready to be unleashed, and I’m not afraid of a little juicy drama or gossip — it’s part of the ride, and I’m here for it.”

It would be wild to have an entire season of returning MAFS contestants, but it’s drama we all desperately crave.

You can stream Married At First Sight on 9Now.

The Block’s Han regrets her showdown with Foreman Dan: ‘Communication gap’

Episode 15 of The Block 2025 saw an all-mighty showdown between Han and Foreman Dan over changed floor plans, with Han calling it “one of the most challenging” days she had on the show.

Not only did Han and Can lose their chippy, but Foreman Dan informed them that their laundry had a major design issue, sparking a heated clash with Han.

During an interview with Chattr, Han said that hearing the news about their unapproved floor plan “on such a tough day was difficult to process”.

“Everything that could go wrong seemed to, and I spent the entire day juggling over 100 calls and messages, working on the tools, managing trades, and organising supplies, all while under the added pressure of filming,” Han explained.

“When Dan told me the floor plan we’d worked so hard on was now ‘not approved,’ it came as a real shock. We’d spent days consulting with Nine In Six, Freedom, and the on-site trades, including plumbers, electricians, and Dan himself, to make sure it was both functional and a real point of difference for the buyers. It had been approved by both Nine In Six and Freedom,” she continued.

“Later, I learned that the issue was about following the correct approval process, which wasn’t clear to us at the time. Since day one, I’d worked with Nine In Six for approvals and advice, as they acted as the foremen after hours once Dan left site. I hadn’t realised the process was to go to Dan first, then Nine In Six.”

Han added that upon reflection, she understands where Foreman Dan was coming from, and regrets her emotional reaction.

“I now see this as a communication gap, and I told Dan that clearer direction from the start would have helped. I wasn’t proud of my initial reaction, and after taking time to calm down, I sought Dan out to apologise, both for raising my voice and for not following the process. I let him know I respected him, appreciated his support, and would always come to him first in future. That conversation reset things for us, and I made a commitment to respond more calmly and consider all perspectives before reacting.”

Does Han think Foreman Dan has favourites on The Block?

Foreman Dan has struck up an easy rapport with some of The Block 2025 cast, including Taz, after the pair made a bet that ended with Taz plunging into the lake on a freezing day. But while he’s built friendships with some, he’s already clashed with Han and Can multiple times this season.

However, Han told Chattr she doesn’t believe Foreman Dan plays favourites, adding that she and Han have actually formed a great relationship with the long-time Block figure.

“I don’t think Dan has favourites; he was simply doing his job. After that week’s run-in, we had a really positive conversation that gave us a better understanding of each other and built mutual respect,” she explained.

“From that point on, he became an even greater support for me on site as now, all my questions were directed at him, he probably regretted telling me that after all! Haha (Sorry Dan!). We shared plenty of laughs, often bumping into each other at McCafe before pre-start for a friendly chat. He was always helpful, encouraging, and someone I genuinely enjoyed working with.”

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

The Block fans notice hilarious detail in latest episode: ‘6/10’

The Block fans have picked up on a detail from the most recent episode, calling out Shaynna Blaze for her ‘sad front yard’.

Taking to Reddit, many Blockheads couldn’t help but point out the irony of the dishevelled yard, with one person opening the conversation with, “What is up with the empty pots and the sad, dying plants in her front yard? Anyone else felt underwhelmed by the overall look and feel of her place?”

The Block fans couldn’t help but poke fun at Shaynna’s yard

While Chattr has contacted Shaynna for comment (perhaps she’s undergoing renovations?), some fans couldn’t help but poke some lighthearted fun at the juxtaposition of the situation.

The Block: Shaynna Blaze's front yard

“Spent her budget on styling, art and pillows and didn’t leave enough for outside week. Classic Block mistake,” someone joked. “She complains about how they hung towels in one of the bathrooms but can’t even style her own porch,” another commented. “Didn’t budget for front yard week,” someone else said.

“I noticed the empty pots and thought that would be something she would criticise if she was judging!” another fan said, while someone quipped, “I didn’t see any rails to hang [the towels] on. Don’t get me started on the lack of storage either!  6/10.”

Some people jumped in to defend Shaynna from the naysayers.

“Maybe Shaynna is just a shit gardener. Can’t be good at everything,” one person defended. “It’s winter?” another pointed out.

And one fan of The Block came up with a genius idea…

“I’d love a season of The Block where the judges have to make a house, and the former contestants can judge,” they said.

We back this idea!

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

The Block’s Can reveals the real reason they missed the team dinner: ‘Our situation was very different’

Following the Week 3 room reveal, The Block 2025 cast piled into Sonny and Alicia‘s caravan for a debrief and team dinner, but the most recent winners Han and Cam were the only team that didn’t show face.

Some viewers took to social media to call the women out for “isolating” themselves, with one Reddit user questioning whether it was “strategic to keep everything to themselves”.

“I’d lean more towards they’re just snobby myself with how they’ve been acting,” another responded.

However, Can told Chattr that they simply didn’t see the invite until Han was already asleep, and explained that they had another obstacle to navigate that the other teams didn’t face.

“Han was still recovering, and we felt it was best to take the evening to regroup, align on our ideas for the week, and get some rest. We were sad to miss it, but by the time we got the invite, Han was already asleep,” she explained.

What Han and Can spent their evenings doing rather than hanging out with the cast

Can stressed that missing the dinner wasn’t a strategic move, pointing out that they didn’t have a builder on their team.

“What viewers may not realise is that Ben wasn’t a builder, he was a chippy, even though they are calling him a ‘builder’ for the purpose of the show.

“Before we went on the show, production told us ‘You don’t need a builder, you just need a good chippy.’ So, I ended up being the builder and stepping into the role of managing the build, trades, making calls, placing orders, and making countless daily decisions.”

Can said that for that reason, they need to use any spare time they have to make plans for their upcoming renovations.

“Our situation was very different from the other teams. In the first six weeks, evenings were our only chance to plan and organise trades, finalise project management tasks, and work through design decisions together. We were always first on site when it opened and often the last to leave, with Nine In Six sending us home most nights,” she explained.

“Daytime was non-stop: being on the tools, driving for supplies, making and taking calls, managing trades, filming, competing in challenges, meeting with agents and suppliers, and preparing for future weeks. There was never enough time during the day, so those evenings became the only window to regroup, plan, and keep the build moving forward.”

Do Han and Can get along with the rest of The Block cast?

While viewers saw Brittany and Taz and Mat and Robby say during Episode 21 that they didn’t have much to do with Han and Can, the women told Chattr that they were on good terms with the entire cast.

“We genuinely got along with everyone and see the cast as a little family,” they said.

Can said that while their relationship with the other teams might seem like it’s on shaky grounds at the moment, everyone built a strong friendship by the end of the season.

“We even stayed together in an Airbnb after filming and got matching tattoos at the launch! Later in the season, we became especially close with Sonny and Leesh. We supported each other through the highs and lows and built a bond based on genuine care.”

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Jesse and Paige competed on the 2024 season of The Block but quit halfway through the show to prioritise their mental health, after weeks of tension building. They became the first team in The Block history to leave the show midway through.

The intense pressure of the competition caused several heated arguments that led to producers intervening, with the couple undergoing a weekend counselling session before deciding to quit the show to focus on their well-being.

Paige later revealed that she and Jesse had called off their December 2024 wedding, leading to fans speculating that they had broken up. The couple later surprised everyone by eloping in Paris.

“Eloping felt like the most authentic way to celebrate our love and this commitment we were both ready to make to one another. A way to focus on what truly matters,” Paige told Yahoo Lifestyle at the time.

Did David Genat know he had the Survivor host role while fliming Australia v The World?

It’s finally been confirmed that David Genat is officially taking over from Jonathan LaPaglia as the host of Australian Survivor.

Ever since Jonathan’s departure was confirmed in June, rumours have swirled that David would be stepping into the role. The news was finally made official on August 18, when David and Survivor announced it in a joint post on Instagram — just after his elimination from Survivor: Australia v The World.

“Filming is underway in the wilds of Samoa for the 12th season of Australian Survivor, where 10 is thrilled to confirm the ‘Golden God’ will be at the helm, commentating every challenge and tribal council as castaways battle it out for the title of Sole Survivor in Australian Survivor: Redemption, coming in 2026,” read a social media post by Channel 10.

During David’s Australia v The World elimination, he announced that he was retiring from playing Australian Survivor at Tribal Council, leading viewers to question if he knew he’d be stepping into the hosting role while filming the season.

While it’s not clear whether David was already in talks with Channel 10, Jonathan’s latest Instagram post suggests that he, at least, wasn’t aware of the switch-up.

“Damn DAVID! If I’d known, I could have just handed you the snuffer like an Olympic relay. Oh well. Good luck out there brother. Stay Gold Ponyboy! (Ps Who knew my sign off line for you was actually a message for me?😂),” Jonathan wrote, referring to him telling David “Golden God out” as he exited Tribal.

David responded to Jonathan’s post thanking him for the path he created as the host of Australian Survivor for the last eleven years.

“I stand on the shoulders of giants, thank you for what you gave to this show. Nobody can do it like you J,” he commented.

Jonathan volleyed back: “As I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, it’s a tough gig. Wishing you the best!”

Australia v The World cast react to David Genat’s Australian Survivor hosting gig news

Following the official announcement that David will take over as host of Australian Survivor, the Australia v The World cast flooded Instagram with congratulatory messages.

“David is a [true] lover of the game. He will do a great job as he understands what makes the game tick. Great news! Loved JLP [Jonathan LaPaglia], but an awesome replacement in the GG [Golden God]. Congrats,” Janine Allis commented on an announcement by Channel 10.

“This will be epic! Now we get to see the Golden God every season,” eliminated South African winner Rob Bentele wrote.

David’s former Deal or No Deal Island allie and current Australia v The World contestant, Parvati Shallow, wrote, “Game changer in every way.”

Shonee Bowtell pointed out David’s comment about retiring from Australian Survivor. “So by ‘retiring’ you meant getting a promotion!!!!! Congrats. Can’t wait to watch,” she commented on David’s announcement post.

Meanwhile, Luke Toki poked fun at David’s unusually covered-up look. “Just don’t laugh when you have to snuff someone’s torch and you will be fine haha, but seriously, congratulations [David], cut the sleeves off that shirt too.”

Survivor: Australia v The World airs at 7pm on Sundays, and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
