Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Tony Mojanovski has faced a New South Wales court following a heated business dispute where he verbally threatened to ‘kill’ a relative.
The 54-year-old ex-MAFS groom, who operated a fishing charter with his nephew, reached out to his business partner in November 2025. A routine phone convo regarding work schedules rapidly soured when the nephew stated he could not work that day. According to court records, the conversation “quickly turned volatile.”
As the argument intensified, the nephew recorded the interaction on his wife’s phone, capturing Tony declaring, “I’m gonna kill you”.

Tony was arrested and transported to Illawarra Police Station. He originally denied the claims, stating he had no memory of the threats. However, after investigators played the recording back to him, he admitted: “There you go, that’s what I said.”
Appearing at Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, Tony pleaded guilty to a charge of intimidation. Magistrate David Williams opted to spare him a conviction, instead placing him on a 12-month conditional release order. The Magistrate noted that the incident appeared out of character for a man with a clean record and no history of violence.
Tony expressed deep regret to the court, attributing the outburst to extreme stress. “It’s just a mistake I made. I’m not an aggressive person, I’ve never been in a fight,” he stated.
“He just pushed me to my limits.”
Tony is best known for his appearance on the 2025 season of MAFS, where he was paired with Morena Farina.
What happened between Tony and Morena on MAFS?
Tony Mojanovski and Morena Farina’s journey on the 2025 season of Married at First Sight was defined by many awkward moments.
Tony, a 54-year-old business owner, struggled to find a romantic spark with Morena, a 57-year-old DJ. At the time, Tony’s family members reportedly made comments suggesting he should have been paired with someone younger, specifically around the age of 40.
The couple ultimately decided to leave the show after Morena admitted she could not fully commit to the process while being away from her children. It didn’t help matters that Tony frequently went MIA during the experiment.
The physical distance and the emotional toll of the experiment led to the mutual decision that their romantic future was unlikely.
They exited the experiment amicably, citing family priorities and a lack of “chemistry” as the primary reasons for their departure, but Morena went on to suggest in post-MAFS interviews that Tony was still ‘in love’ with his wife (yes, his real wife) during the experiment.
