Twitter is losing it over Larry Emdur’s “golden” Logies speech

After four decades in the biz, The Morning Show host Larry Emdur took home gold at the 2024 Logies.

The prestigious awards weren’t announced until a stroke before midnight, but Larry still had the energy to deliver a truly entertaining acceptance speech.

In his speech, he made a joke about being “TV’s most axed man” and said that his kids hadn’t watched free-to-air TV “for about 15 years ” but were proud of him.

Fans’ reactions on Twitter proved that Larry’s light-hearted speech was clearly a hit.

“Larry Emdur possibly the greatest, sincerest & funniest Logies acceptance speech ever,” one person wrote on X (previously Twitter).

Check out the best reactions to Larry’s Gold Logie win.

Larry Emdur’s full Gold Logie acceptance speech

Read Larry’s full Gold Logie acceptance speech below.

“Wow. Forty years I’ve been in this business, 40 years.

“For 25, maybe 30 times I’ve sat in this room and thought, ‘I wonder what it’s like sitting on this fancy table down here.’

“Oh sh*t, I just remembered. I was so convinced that I wasn’t going to win this that I said that if I did win it, I would have all the nominees’ initials tattooed on my a** live tomorrow morning.

“So that’s what you will see on The Morning Show tomorrow.

“I know it’s late, I’m sorry, I’ve just got a couple of people (to thank).

“Nat Barr is looking at me like, ‘Baby, I’ve got to get up in 25 minutes.’

“I love this business so much. I love being in TV, I love being on TV and I’ve never done anything else and I’ve never wanted to do anything else.

“Whether it’s sitting on The Morning Show couch interviewing Lindy Klim who has invented a new product which is a face mask for vulvas or a 150kg truck driver who has won on The Price Is Right, dry humping me.

“Being the most axed man in television, and there have been some terrible things, plenty of times I’ve had to think do I look right, am I right for this?

Red Symons, the first time I got to host Hey, Hey It’s Saturday, I was so nervous, I was filling in for Daryl and Red Symons came up to me and he said, ‘Mate, if your eyes were any closer together they’d be in the one socket.’

“So there are times like that where I was like, ‘I should not be in this business.’

“You know, it’s about the shows, I touched on them before, The Chase family, Deb and Andrea, all the Chasers.

Larry and Kylie on The Morning Show. Image: Seven.

The Morning Show, Sarah Stinson, the whole team, I adore you.

Kylie Gillies, my TV wife, thank you. We campaigned hard. I wrote in my book, which is now available in all good clearance bins, that Kylie and I sat on The Morning Show 17 years ago and we clicked and we’ve never un-clicked.

“We say we get married at 9.30 in the morning and then divorced at 11.30. Now I’m getting older, I need to get closer to the toilet so it can be closer to 11:28.

“I asked my dad, when I went in for my first day on the job in the seven newsroom, I asked what I did and he said, ‘Just be nice to everyone.’.”

“After a few days, he asked me how it’s going and I said, ‘Dad, I’m trying but there’s so many a******s in this business.’ Like,so many.

“My kids, Jye and Tia, I know it’s a thing to get up and say, ‘Kids, it’s late to go to bed’. They’re 20 and 30. Do whatever you want.

“Apparently they love the fact that it’s rhyming slang, if you’re going on a bender, you’re, ‘Going on a Larry Emdur.

“My beautiful wife Sylvie, thank you for everything you’ve done.

Larry and his wife Sylvie and the Logies. Image: Instagram.

“After Price is Right, I took a couple of steps down and got axed and axed and axed and Sylvie and I said that’s it, no more crappy shows.

“Then Channel Ten called me about doing a show called ‘Celebrity Dog School’ and I said we agreed not to do any more crappy shows and she said ‘I need a new kitchen, you are doing it.’

“When I had this suit made, I had them put the nominees in here for me

“Because in 30 years time when I’m at the Shady Pines Nursing Home and I’m calling bingo because that’s what I’m doing, I want to remember this in 30 years time.

“Thank you so much. Let’s get on a ‘Larry Emdur’.”

Everything We Know About The Voice 2024

The newest season of The Voice Australia is upon us with LeAnn Rimes, Adam Lambert and Kate Miller-Heidke joining Guy Sebastian to find Australia’s next singing sensation.

But here’s the thing: The Voice 2024 isn’t live even though the Australian public will be called on to vote for a winner.

So how does that work? Well, similarly to Love Island Australia in recent years, the show has filmed multiple endings based on who the Australian public voted for.

When Chattr spoke with coach Kate in August, she confirmed that “all of [The Voice 2024]” had already been filmed “including four different endings”.

“We don’t know the winner because the winner’s by public vote,” Kate clarified.

Basically, once the final four are decided, the lines will open up for the public to vote. When voting closes, production will select the ending filmed for that particular winner.

Obviously it’s less authentic considering the contestant is acting as if they’ve won (without actually knowing if they’ve won).

“We got to see the acting chops of our final four,” Kate joked. “They were quite good.”

The good news? We’ll no doubt see a real reaction from the winner pop up on social media following the finale. We hope!

Keep reading for everything we know about The Voice Australia 2024.

What rounds will be on The Voice 2024?

The Voice 2024 will follow the same premise as past seasons, which means that the contestants will need to make it through multiple rounds to reach the final.

The first stage is the Blind Auditions, which sees the contestants take to the stage hoping to turn the coaches’ chairs. Leann, Adam, Kate and Guy will only be able to select 12 contestants each. If an artist receives more than one chair turn, the coaches will pitch and the contestants will decide.

The Blind Auditions. Image: Seven.

Unlike previous seasons, there will be an Ultimate Block available for each coach, which allows them to block all of their fellow coaches and ensure the contestant joins their team. They also receive a Block, which allows them to block just one judge.

The next stage is the Ultimate Battles, which sees artists from each team face off in pairs. Only one contestant from each battle will survive. Coaches will be given the power to save one artist.

The third round is the Knockouts, which is where teams go from seven to two. Grouped in duos or trios for the three Knockouts per team, the artists sing individual songs based on a theme. The winners from each Knockout face off in a final Showdown with a song of their choice resulting in two artists progressing to the Semi-Final.

After that, there will be eight contestants in the Semi-Finals, and four in the Finals.

The Voice 2024 premiere date

The Voice Australia announced that it will be premiering on Monday, August 19. That’s the day after the 2024 Logies, in case you were wondering!

How to watch The Voice Australia

The Voice will be available to watch on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

What can we expect this season?

The spectacular combination of brand-new coaches LeAnn, Adam, Kate and returning coach Guy promises a season filled with phenomenal performances, emotional moments and life-changing opportunities.

All four coaches are set to take their place on the iconic red chairs with their hands hovering to spin when they hear a voice they must have on their team. That, or hit the infamous Block button to stop another coach from securing an artist that has what it takes to win it all.

This season, The Voice is set to elevate its platform for discovering and nurturing extraordinary talent, offering artists the unique opportunity to be mentored by some of the most successful and diverse artists in the global music industry.

Coach Adam Lambert. Seven.

Who are the coaches?

This year will see a largely new set of coaches on The Voice Australia. As previously mentioned, LeAnn, Adam and Kate will join returning coach Guy and the four celebs will compete to score their favourite contestants for their teams.

Is there a trailer?

There is! The newest clip shows the four coaches battling each other to score the most talented contestants on their teams.

As the premise of the show goes, during the Blind Audition rounds, the coaches listen to contestants sing, and can turn their chairs if they want to recruit them to their own teams.

The competition progresses to Callback and Battle Rounds which see contestants gradually eliminated. At the Grand Final, just one singer is crowned the winner, and their coach technically wins as well.

Will a newbie coach take out the win this season?!

The Voice will air on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Watch Larry Emdur get a tattoo on live TV after his Logies win

Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur has followed through on his promise to get a tattoo on national TV.

Ahead of the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards Larry told news.com.au that if he were to win the top trophy, he’d get a tattoo on his bum during The Morning Show.

“I’m so confident I won’t win, I’ll happily get all the nominees’ name initials tattooed on my a*** on the show on Monday [if I do win]” he told the publication.

Fans tuned into the show with bated breath to see if Larry would stick to his word. And, being the Australian icon he is, the TV host got inked up.

Larry Emdur’s Gold Logie tattoo

A tattoo artist from Bondi Ink arrived on The Morning Show on Monday, and put together a design for Larry which featured the initials of the fellow nominees he beat; Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger, Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, and Asher Keddie.

“Kylie [Gillies], I can’t see what’s happening,” Larry told his co-host as he stretched out on the tattoo bed.

“Is this what it is like being in those rooms in Border Security,” he joked.

Larry explained to viewers what his new tattoo looked like.

“Basically, it’s a little line drawing of a Logie holding the TV and within the TV are the initials of the other wonderful nominees who were up for a Gold Logie last night,” he explained as the artist was tattooing him.

Larry won his first two Logies in 2024

Larry has been a TV host since 1993, and over the years he’s hosted a variety of shows including The Price is Right, Hey Hey It’s Saturday and Wheel of Fortune.

He’s hosted The Morning Show alongside Kylie since 2007. However, despite his lengthy TV career, Larry had never won a Logie until the 2024 Awards Ceremony.

Larry received two awards at the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards; the Gold Logie and the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

Has the Gold Logie winner leaked?

The entertainment industry has been buzzing ever since the 2024 Gold Logie nominees were announced, and the winner may have already leaked.

According to TAB betting odds, there’s one frontrunner. At the time of writing, first-time Gold Logie nominee Larry Emdur has the best betting odds to take out the gong, with a return of $1.72.

Gold Logie Nominees. TV Week.

What are the current betting odds for the 2024 Gold Logie winner?

Larry is in the lead with his return of $1.72, the lowest return of any contestants, meaning that the most amount of money has been bet on him to win.

Not far behind him sits both Robert Irwin and Tony Armstrong with equal odds of $4.50. Andy Lee sits in fourth place with a return of $9.00.

You can find all of the betting odds below:

  • Larry Emdur – $1.72
  • Robert Irwin – $4.50
  • Tony Armstrong – $4.50
  • Andy Lee – $9.00
  • Asher Keddie – $17.00
  • Julia Morris – $17.00
  • Sonia Kruger – $21.00

How do betting odds work?

Betting odds are tied to dollar amounts, and those with lower odds are recognised as more likely to win, hence the lower return. For example, if someone bets $1 on Larry winning the Gold Logie and he does, they’d receive the amount that outcome is listed at, which is $1.72.

The return is based on how much someone bets, so if they bet $10.00 on the same thing, they’d receive $17.20. If they bet $100, they’d receive $172 and so on.

Julia Morris and Robert Irwin at the Logies annoucement
Robert and Julia are both nominated for Gold Logies. Image: Instagram.

Are betting odds always right?

Not necessarily, however, they do give a good indication of who may win. Plus, in many past reality TV shows, they’ve correctly picked the winner.

For example, Brent Draper had the best betting odds to win MasterChef 2023, and he took out the title. Plus, betting odds suggested that Liz Parnov would win Survivor: Heros vs Villains, and she was, in fact, crowned the winner.

Nine golden rules the Blockheads must follow on The Block 2024

The Block 2024 is in full swing and while drama is truly front and centre of the season, there are some golden rules the Blockheads have to follow.

There are building regulations the contestants must abide by, but there are also some lesser-known by-laws that must be adhered to – and we’ve compiled them here all in one place!

Grant learning the block rules
Grant learning the rules. Image: Nine.

The rules of The Block

1. No help from any outside designer

Simply put, all designs including styling must come from the Blockheads themselves.

2. Contestants must do their own painting

Much to the horror of the contestants, they must do all of their own painting.

3. All trades must be paid the award rate

Duh! They’re not working for free!

ricky learning the block rules
Ricky writing down rules. Image: Nine.
4. All trades must be inducted

According to Safe Work Australia, “Any person who is to carry out construction work must complete general construction induction training to receive a general construction induction training card, commonly referred to as the ‘White Card’.”

In an interview with Domain, former foreman Keith Schleiger revealed that safety is paramount on The Block.

“We’ve got a very good record on The Block and we want to maintain it, so we’re very militant with our safety procedures,” he told the outlet.

5. No more than 50 per cent discount on any trade goods

It may be a TV show, but the Blockheads still have a budget.

The Block 2022 winners, Omar and Oz, learned a tough lesson when they scored a sweet deal on a baby grand piano and ended up paying the price.

6. No working ahead

After #CheatingGate2021, host Scotty Cam revealed the full schedule ahead of time to avoid any ahem, dodgy behaviour.

Scotty Cam and the infamous whiteboard. Nine

7. No power tools after tools down

This rule is another way to keep an even playing field among the Blockheads.

8. No power tools on Sunday or public holidays and no noisy building work after hours

Nobody likes to hear a power tool on a Sunday and all public holidays must be adhered to.

As for the “no noisy building work after hours”? The same rule applies. Phillip Island is a residential area.

9. Contestants must hire their own trades

This is to keep to the authenticity of the series. We’re really renovating here people!

The Block airs on Sunday at 7:00pm and continues Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Survivor winner Liz Parnov had her baby and the video is SO CUTE

Australian Survivor winner Liz Parnov and her partner, Daniel Bradshaw, have welcomed an adorable baby boy into the world. They announced the news in a sweet Instagram post.

Liz shared a carousel of black and white photos of her and Daniel with their newborn and simply captioned the pics with their son’s name, Texas Bradshaw.

The Australian Survivor star also shared a heartwarming video from her hospital which showed the lead-up to the birth and her and Daniel meeting Texas for the first time.

On top of that, Liz shared another carousel of photos of herself, Texas and Daniel and captioned them “1 week of being mama and papa 🤝🏽.”

In February Liz announced her pregnancy in a very creative Instagram post. She took to the platform to share a photo of her pregnant belly, which Daniel was holding while sucking on a dummy and wearing what looks to be great nappy-esque swimming briefs.

She captioned the post, “Just left pound town 👶🏼,” and the whole thing was a nod to Drake’s audio show Table For One.

Liz Parnov’s Survivor friends celebrate the news

The comments section of Liz’s post was flooded with blue tick accounts sending their well wishes.

“Yaayyyy I love you Texas!!! 🩵”, wrote Shonee Bowtell, who was Liz’s Survivor bestie.

Their alliance member George Mladenov also sent his well wishes. “Congrats Liz and Dan 🥹🥹🥹,” he wrote.

Foreman Keith shares the emotional reason he left The Block 2024

Foreman Keith is noticeably missing from The Block 2024, and he’s now revealed the reason why.

Keith first joined the show in 2011 and has been a part of The Block for a whopping 16 seasons. This season, however, he decided to step back so he could spend more time with his daughters Ebony, 14, and Jasmin, 11.

The Block 2024 is located on Phillip Island, which is a two-hour drive from Melbourne city.

“I couldn’t see a way of seeing my children more than once a week or something like that,” Keith explained to 9Entertainment.

Keith and his daughters. Image: Nine.

“I wouldn’t have been able to commute from Melbourne, I would have to live down there. That was always going to be very hard and it just didn’t feel it was the right thing to do at the time – I don’t really want to spend three months without them.”

Keith admitted that his decision wasn’t an easy one.

“I’m definitely going to miss it,” he said. “It’s basically been 20 per cent of my life.”

Keith. Image: Nine.

Who replaced Keith as The Block’s Foreman?

With Keith stepping back, his right-hand man Dan has taken up his Foreman position and is overseeing the contestant’s build on The Block Season 20.

“At the start, it was a bit odd as I’ve always had Keith next to me and we are good mates,” Dan told 9Entertainment of his new gig.

“But I think I slowly grew into it and got more comfortable in the role on my own. I will definitely miss him though.”

Dan and Keith. Image: Nine.

Will Keith come back to The Block?

The Block 2025’s location has been confirmed as the Victorian countryside town of Daylesford, which is approximately a two-hour drive from Melbourne.

The distance may be an obstacle for Keith, but he hasn’t confirmed yet whether he will be part of The Block 2025.

However, Keith fans needn’t worry because he will be appearing in a few episodes this season.

“You’ll see me there for about four or five days,” he confirmed to 9Entertainment.

We love a family man!

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Mon – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Kate Miller-Heidke reveals which coach was “trigger happy” with The Voice buzzer

The Voice 2024 is set to premiere this August with Guy Sebastian, Kate Miller-Heidke, Adam Lambert and LeAnn Rimes leading the charge as coaches for the new season.

Apparently there’s one celebrity coach that got a little overexcited this season though, with fellow The Voice judge Kate labelling them as “trigger happy” with that big red button.

Adam Lambert was “trigger happy” on The Voice 2024

“Adam was super trigger happy,” Kate revealed in an exclusive interview with Chattr, explaining that he chewed up most of his singer positions within the first half of the blind auditions.

“He turned around for for so many people very early on in the filming and then he found himself with one spot left for, like the second half of the blinds,” Kate explained.

“He got a bit overexcited.”

On The Voice, four judges have traditionally gotten to choose 12 singers each. If they turn around for a contestant who chooses to be on their team in return, it means that one of their 12 positions have been filled.

What type of artists did Kate Miller-Heidke press the buzzer for?

Kate explained to Chattr that she turned around for moments that really struck her.

“You’re just listening to hear that one magic moment,” Kate explained to Chattr. “It’s such a cliche, but that magic moment in a song that gives you goosebumps or surprises you in some way.”

“Sometimes it’s really it can be hard to tell because a lot of people are struggling with nerves. It’s a deeply nerve-wracking experience to get up on that stage and you’re just waiting to hear that that kernel of something amazing.”

Kate met Adam and LeAnn for the first time on The Voice 2024

Kate revealed to Chattr that it was her first time meeting both LeAnn and Adam, the latter of which became one of her “favourite” people.

“They were both so lovely,” Kate explained of meeting Adam and LeAnn for the first time on The Voice.

“Leanne shot to superstardom when she was only 12 years old,” Kate recalled.

Image: Supplied.

“She’s lived her entire life as a very famous person, but she’s still an artist to her core. She still takes the art and craft of singing really seriously and she’s so good at what she does.”

“And Adam, he’s lightning in a bottle. He’s just brilliant. He and I were sitting next to each other for the whole season, so we got to hang out and chat a lot.

“He is just one of my favourite people. He’s so funny and irreverent and kooky. He’s brilliant.”

Why did this just become the friendship we never knew we needed? Cute as hell.

The Voice airs on 7 and 7Plus from Monday, August 19.

Is Sarah’s savage new song about her FWAW ex Joe?

Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) 2024’s Sarah Carey announced her break up with Farmer Joe Bobbins in early August, and now she’s followed it up with a shady break-up song.

The couple met on season FWAW Season 13 and Sarah and Joe confirmed that they were still together at the reunion, which was recorded one month after filming wrapped. Sarah moved to Joe’s farm shortly after.

However, Sarah has revealed in an Instagram post that the couple recently made the decision to split.

“I was really hoping to not have to do this as I’m a very private person, but it’s incredibly hard to heal whilst constantly receiving questions & comments about the status of my relationship,” she began the announcement.

Sarah added that she and Joe broke up “a few weeks ago”, and opened up about the isolation of still being on Joe’s farm.

Sarah’s IG story. Image: Instagram.

“This has been one of the hardest times of my life so I want to sincerely thank those who have sent kind messages checking in on me & for welcoming me into this community.

“It’s been difficult without my friends & family around me but the kindness that has been shown is something I’ll never forget.”

The FWAW contestant asked fans to respect her privacy while she processed the breakup.

“I understand there may be alot of questions regarding why, but at this time I’m not ready to talk about that as I’m still processing the information myself,” she said.

Sarah has since deleted all photos of Joe from her Instagram account.

Sarah and Joe on Farmer Wants A Wife. Image: Seven.

What has Farmer Wants A Wife’s Joe said about his split with Sarah?

“The only comment I’ll make is you can’t force love,” Joe told Yahoo Lifestyle. Oh dear.

What song did Sarah release and is it about Farmer Joe?

On August 11, Sarah took to Instagram to share a new song she’d written.

“When life gives you lemons make lemonade, or a song,” she captioned the post, noting that the activity felt like therapy.

The song was a twist on Stick Season by Noah Kazan and Sara Phillips but with Sarah’s own lyrics.

The lyrics call the man who the song is about a “dick” and say that she “should’ve run”.

“It’s all your fault, but you still like to play the victim,” one line says.

“You proved me wrong, and everybody else right, as I sat in your hometown a million miles from mine,” says another.

Sarah’s home town of Bombala is 1,300 km from Joe’s farm in Biddaddaba. Just saying.

While Sarah hasn’t specifically said that the song is about Joe, the timing seems *very* convenient.

How long were Farmer Wants a Wife’s Sarah and Joe together?

Farmer Wants a Wife 2024 was filmed in December 2023, so Sarah and Joe were together for about eight months.

We can’t but wonder if the fact that Sarah has scrubbed pics of Joe from her Instagram indicates that something bad went down. We hope she’s okay!

The way The Block’s Scotty Cam got his big break is so wholesome

Scott Cam is best known for heading up The Block since 2010, but the TV personality actually got his start 25 years ago while spending the afternoon in a pub.

Scott – who’s affectionately known as Scotty Cam on The Block – was scouted to do a screen test for his first show Backyard Blitz.

“I went to the pub every afternoon, as I told my wife ‘to clear the dust away’ but it was also a way to get work from other trades,” he said during an appearance on Triple M’s Mick & MG.

Scott Cam on Backyard Blitz. Image: IMDB.

“There was a producer in there with his girlfriend and he saw me yapping away and I had the ute and the dog, and he said, ‘Would you do a screen test – I need a carpenter for a shoot’ and I said, ‘nah mate that’s not my go’.”

However, the producer was convinced that Scott was the man for the job, and got his phone number which was painted on the side of his ute.

“He called me and asked me again the next day. I knocked him back, but my wife said, ‘You should do that, it would be something different’.”

“I’ve since been in the biz for 25 years.”

Scotty Cam’s career

Scott’s first TV gig was in 2000 as the resident builder/carpenter on Backyard Blitz. He stayed in the role until the show got cancelled in 2005.

After that, he appeared on Renovation Rescue from 2004 – 2006. Then, from 2008 – 2010 he was on Domestic Blitz, which co-hosted alongside his now The Block colleague Shelley Craft.

In 2010 Scott took on the host role on The Block, and he’s been there ever since.

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Mon – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Why did Home and Away kill off Felicity’s character?

Hearts around the nation were collectively broken when Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) collapsed during the Home and Away episode that aired on August 12.

With upcoming promos for the soap making it clear that Felicity won’t survive, fans have been left wondering why such a popular character was killed off.

It turns out, the reason for Felicity leaving Home and Away is fortunately a lot less grim than her character’s demise.

Felicity in the hospital bed. Image: Seven.

Why did Jacqui Purvis leave Home and Away?

It was actually Jacqui’s decision to call time on her Home and Away journey.

The Australian actor told Yahoo Lifestyle that she’s looking to follow in the footsteps of other Home and Away alum – like Chris Hemsworth and Health Ledger – who went on to become movie stars.

“I’ve had an incredible time on the show. Some of the best years of my life. However, I knew I wanted an international career, so, I had to make the decision to leave and take the plunge,” she told the publication.

Jacqui acknowledged the opportunity the soap gave her but said it was time for her to take a new direction.

“I owe so much to the show, [and] because of it, I feel confident and ready to take on the international stage. I’m so grateful to the fans for supporting me through my years on the show.”

Home and Away fans react to Jacqui’s choice to leave

Fans grew suspicious that Jacqui was leaving the soap after Back to the Bay reported that she’d been missing from the set since March.

When it was confirmed that Felicity would be killed off, fans took to a Facebook group to share their sadness.

“When Jacqui first started on Home and Away, I just didn’t like her (not that I knew her as a person) or her character, but as time went on I thought, ‘OMG what an incredible actress, brilliant,'” one wrote.

“I really, really like her now and I’m terribly sad to see her go. I wish Jacqui all the best for her future.”

Felicity when she first collapsed. Image: Seven.

Others believe that Jacqui made the best choice to chase an international career.

“If anyone has a chance of making it in Hollywood she has – great actress on to bigger things,” one person wrote.

“Will miss her on Home and Away but am excited to see where what heights she goes to in her acting career. Good luck Jacqui,” another penned.

“Hope she makes it big in Hollywood if she goes overseas. She’s a brilliant actress,” a third commented.

Now that Felicity’s departure is official, we’re hoping Jacqui drops a blockbuster announcement any day now.

Home and Away airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

FBoy Island’s Ally shuts down Vernon’s claims she used his name to get on the show

Vernon Lyon‘s name is back on rotation after Ally Woodfall revealed her past relationship with him on the FBoy Island Season 2 premiere episode.

Like clockwork, Vernon took to social media to share his side of the story while also insinuating that Ally used him name to get on FBoy Island Australia Season 2.

Chattr spoke to Ally following Vernon’s social media video and she made it very clear that Vernon’s involvement in FBoy Island Season 1 has nothing to do with her being cast in Season 2.

There’s a bit to unpack from the she-said-he-said situation so keep reading for the full rundown.

ally woodfall fboy island vernon lyon
Ally Woodfall on FBoy Island Season 2. Image: BINGE.

Who is Vernon Lyon?

Vernon was in FBoy Island Season 1 and made it to Molly O’Halloran‘s final two alongside winner Nick Brown.

During the finale episode, Vernon’s ex Brogen showed up and ultimately proved he was an FBoy.

Who is Ally Woodfall?

Ally is one of FBoy Island Season 2‘s leading ladies alongside Nicole Mitrov and Krystal Thomas.

During the FBoy Island Season 2 premiere episode, Ally claimed that Vernon went on a three-day bender and ghosted her. There was also a joke made about Vernon’s penis size to which she replied “No comment”.

What did Vernon Lyon say about ex Ally Woodfall?

Vernon took to Instagram Reels the day after the FBoy island Season 2 premiere episode aired.

“The reason I went on this bender was [because] I found out she [Ally] was still on Tinder messaging dudes,” Vernon claimed in the video.

vernon lyon
Image: Instagram @__l__y__o__n__

He then went on to say that she called him that night but he wouldn’t answer.

“I ended up sending her the address [of where the bender was happening]. She came over. I didn’t want her there but I knew that it was only going to end up bad if I don’t do it,” Vernon claimed.

“She got pissed off that I wasn’t talking to her so she slammed me phone [sic] out of my hands and pushed me in the face, and slammed the door on the way out,” he continued.

He then claimed that they spoke on the phone the next day and that he “never ghosted her”.

Why’d he keep the receipts? “Messages are the best things when it comes to stuff like this,” he said. Do you think it’s his first rodeo?

Vernon’s thoughts on the comments made about his penis

Vernon also took the opportunity to express that he thinks there is a double standard with the show talking about his dick size considering Caleb Duncan copped shit for what he said about Molly’s vagina.

“What is the difference between Molly having a ‘shit pussy’ and them saying I had a small dick?” he asked in the five-minute reel.

He then went on to say that people have seen his dick and that he has “nothing to be worried about”.

Caleb reappeared at the end of the first FBoy Island Season 2 episode, indicating that he’d be back in some way for 2024. In the following episode, it was announced that he would be a bartender on the show.

Something tells me this won’t be the last we’ll be hearing of Vernon this season either.

How Vernon feels about Ally being on FBoy Island Season 2

“Good for her — she used my name to get on the show,” Vernon said about Ally landing a role as one of FBoy Island Season 2‘s leading ladies.

“It may have been the only was she could’ve got on the show,” he continued, right before he said that he didn’t want to cause any arguments.

Hmmm.

Vernon said that he “kinda guessed” he would be part of this FBoy Island season without actually being on it. So humble!

What did Ally say about how she got onto FBoy Island Season 2?

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Ally revealed that she was cast through social media like Krystal and Nicole.

In fact, she said that Vernon’s name didn’t even come up until “the end of the casting process” where the producers felt it was a “good tie”.

“Me being on the show and me getting on the show — nothing to do with him,” Ally clarified.

“I didn’t even want to speak of him at all throughout the season.”

Are any other MAFS cast members going to the Logies?

In recent years, there have been a number MAFS participants invited to the prestigious awards event.

In 2023 alone, Ollie Skelton, Tahnee Cook, Melinda Willis, Layton Mills, Evelyn, Duncan James, Sandy Jawanda, Claire Nomarhas and Rupert Bugden all attended on behalf of the reality TV show.

However, not a single MAFS 2024 alum has confirmed that they will be attending. In fact, one unnamed cast member even told Pedestrian that “nobody is invited this year”.

“It would have been fun, but I don’t really mind,” they added.

Though none of this year’s cast has been confirmed to attend, we wouldn’t be surprised if breakout star Lucinda Light or golden couple Ridge Barredo and Jade Pywell strut down the red carpet.

Evelyn Ellis’ Logies red carpet outfit

Evelyn told 9Entertainment that she’ll be wearing a fit by Ryan Patros for her new gig.

“Ryan has dressed people like Beyoncé, Khloe Kardashian, Britney Spears… so I get to hear all the stories of the amazing artists and celebrities straight from the horse’s mouth,” she said.

Ryan designed the show-stopping gold dress that Evelyn won for the 2023 Logies, where she made her red carpet debut with former MAFS groom – and now boyfriend – Duncan James.

How will Ryan top last year’s dress? We can’t wait to find out!

The 2024 TV WEEK Logie Awards will air on Channel Seven and 7plus on August 18 from 7pm.
