What is Sam Pang Tonight’s new TV show about?
As Channel 10 puts it, Sam Pang Tonight is “something refreshingly familiar” — a classic tonight show.
Filmed in front of a live audience, it’ll have all the usuals: a monologue both on the week’s news, interviews with local and international guests, and plenty of laughs with Sam’s comedy mates.
“Sam Pang has been part of the 10 family for over a decade and we’re delighted to have commissioned his brand-new show for 2025,” said Daniel Monaghan, SVP Content and Programming for Paramount Australia, at the Channel 10 Upfronts.
“Sam’s quick wit has kept Aussies laughing for years, and we know his fresh new program will give audiences exactly what they want.”
And really, who doesn’t love a good tonight show?
When does Sam Pang Tonight air?
Fans can tune into the eight-episode season of Sam Pang Tonight on Mondays from around 8:30pm (after Australian Survivor) on Channel 10 and 10play.
Will Sam keep his gig on other shows?
Yes! Ten confirmed that Sam’s new role won’t affect his spot as a panellist on the Logie-winningHave You Been Paying Attention? with host Tom Gleisner.
So, while Sam Pang Tonight is his latest project, rest assured he’s not going anywhere.

So, whether you’re tuning in for the monologue, the guests, or just Sam himself, it looks like Monday nights are officially sorted.
Sam Pang Tonight airs Monday nights on Channel 10 and 10Play.
Before we jump into that shitshow, let’s get the other couples out of the way.
Rhi and Jeff: Rhi saying, “It was meant to be, Jeffy”, is the cutest shit I’ve seen from these exes this season; coming a close second would be Jeff giving Rhi a key.
It’s unfortunate this looks so staged tho. Image: Nine
Beth and Teejay: The last intruders standing are somehow still here after bumping uglies for a second time.
“It was good,” he said. Image: Nine
Beth’s best friend thinks Teejay is very rehearsed with what he says, and when he says things like “romantic stimulation”, I don’t disagree.
Babe I think he watches rom-coms. Image: Nine
He doesn’t really see a future with Beth right now so they’re fucked.
Jamie and Dave: The pair have kissed and made up (and touched ass). Dave has grown a full beard overnight!
Hope he doesn’t have any plans in Manly. Image: Nine
Dave’s dad thinks he is very happy with Jamie but I have questions about when this was filmed.
Ryan & Jacqui: Ryan tells his dog “I brought someone new” upon introducing Jacqui to him. Um, someone “new”? Makes it sound like that’s a common event. Low-key surprised, he wore white jeans to greet his dog that he hadn’t seen in months.
Anyway the house Ryan owns in South West Sydney is enough to make Jacqui cry. Is that saying anything at this point?
Image: Nine
TBH, if my partner had a Vegas visor or Bintang stubby on display, I’d both cry, vomit and not speak to him for a week.
Manly would never. Image: Nine
“It really reminds me of the elderly,” Jacqui says of Ryan’s living conditions. All is not lost, though, because he does have a goal board and to-do list that Jacqui takes it upon herself to fill out.
Donate Bintang merch to charity. Image: Nine
He takes that on the chin (which has too many hairs for Jacqui’s liking) but doesn’t love it when she tells him how to “manage” his pet during a walk.
It only gets worse between the pair when they arrive at a venue that feels too nice to be that empty.
So this is the local hot spot hey? Pumping!!! Image: Nine
Jacqui has one support person there, and Ryan has two. I do not know their relationships with these people, but I do know that Jacqui’s person seemingly sat there silently while Ryan’s people ripped into Jacqui.

Are you really a reality star if you don’t have a Cameo account? We think not. So it’s no surprise that a bunch of the Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 cast are charging fans a pretty penny to get a personalised video from them.
For the uninitiated, Cameo is a platform where public figures can sell specifically requested video messages. If the creators are happy to cover the requested topic and the fan is down to pay their asking price, the video will be commissioned and sent digitally.
So far, four of the MAFS 2025 cast have signed up to Cameo, but with the season coming to a pointy end, it’s very likely that more Brides and Grooms will jump on board to cash in on their 15 minutes of fame.
Here are all the MAFS 2025 stars who’ve joined Cameo so far and how much they’re charging.
Dave Hand
Dave’s profile. Image: Cameo.
At a whopping $70.65, Dave Handcharges the most among his peers for a personalised clip.
“Willow’s dad,” his profile reads, referring to his Weimaraner pup.
However, Dave’s run on the video-sharing platform hasn’t been exactly smooth. On March 13, Chattr reported that a Cameo video of Dave appearing to send his love to controversial rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was shared.
As one person on TikTok pointed out, it seemed as though Dave had a prank pulled on him by the person requesting the video. Dave profile says that his last video was sent on March 11 — so it looks as though the stunts put a temporary pause on his Cameo content creation career.
Billy Belcher may have exited MAFS early on in the piece, but he’s still trying to make a quick buck on Cameo. The 2025 Groom charges $54.95 per clip, and his average video length is one minute, which makes his hourly rate *checks notes* $3,297. Gulp.
Anyway, Billy’s profile starts off in a generic fashion. “Birthdays, celebrations or for your partner I’m here to help you guys out in sending a message,” it reads.
However, Billy then appears to hint at sharing some MAFS goss with paying customers.
“Even any questions you would like to ask I’m here,” it continues.
Regardless, at $23.55, Jacqui’s personalised video messages are a bargain compared to Dave and Billy’s, and her bio is undoubtedly iconic.
“Jac-Jac-Jacqui from Married at First Sight Australia (MAFS)! I can fake CRY because I’m not at your event, give CRAZY EYES, do a RAP SHEET ROAST, dating advice, give your boyfriend Ryan-style advice!” It reads.
Which is exactly what makes his Cameo price so adorable. Jacqui and Clint have identical prices for a short clip, at $23.55 each. All the makings of true and lasting love, IMHO.
With the second half of homestays due to air tonight, which will see a less-than-impressed Jacqui arrive at Ryan’s lair and deem it like living with “the elderly”, Ryan has pre-emptively taken to Instagram to bizarrely call Jacqui out on using an Airbnb for her Manly homestay.
“This wasn’t Jacqui’s home,” he posted on his Instagram Story. “It was an Airbnb booked for the one night we filmed in Manly.
“Her actual place was a rental apartment with two other housemates. They couldn’t fit the camera crew in there, her bedroom was tiny, the housemates’ stuff was everywhere, and production would’ve had to ask them to leave and stay elsewhere for filming.”
Ryan’s outed Jacqui for using an Airbnb during homestays for… some reason. Image: Nine
MAFS’ Jacqui hits back at Ryan’s attempt to diminish her homestay
Now, Jacqui has taken to Instagram to indirectly reply to Ryan. Both of them used the same Daily Mail article link, which stated that Jacqui was caught out in an ’embarrassing’ lie about her homestays.
“[I’m] not embarrassed at all,” Jacqui said. “Production hire these for participants who have housemates to protect their privacy, it’s been happening for years. Like, with Eden Harper last year.”
“This is Ryan’s continuous attempts to humiliate and embarrass me publicly. It’s petty and pathetic.”
Jacqui has accused Ryan of trying to humiliate her publicly. Image: Nine
Speaking with Chattr, 2024 bride Eden cleared up that she knew nothing about production hiring Airbnbs, though that doesn’t mean they don’t do it – but that wasn’t her storyline.
“That wasn’t my experience,” she said. “I just suggested my parents’ apartment for home stays, and they agreed.”
In a since-deleted Instagram Story, Jacqui said Ryan is embarrassed about what went on during homestays and is “creating chaos to deflect from the original nerve hit” and said she has nothing to be ashamed of.
“I want him to be held accountable and stop deflecting,” Jacqui wrote.
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
The 2022 MAFS star was congratulated by many other Aussie reality TV stars and fans, but it didn’t take long for people to start speculating about her relationship status after she didn’t mention her partner, Jarod Bogunovich, in the pregnancy update, and she wasn’t congratulated by former BFF Ella Ding.
Dom later confirmed she’d be “welcoming this baby as a solo parent” but that she and Jarod would be co-parenting.
“I am grateful to have the support of the father in a co-parenting capacity,” she said.
Now, the drama is heating up even more – but not when it comes to Dom and her baby. The MAFS star has been busy on TikTok and this time she’s taking aim at former co-star and BFF, Ella, who has recently started advertising that she’s giving away Range Rover or $70,000 worth of cash as part of her Ella May Ding club.
Recently on TikTok Aussies have been taking note of Ella’s latest competition offer, with some calling her out for false claims including saying the car is a 2026 model when the car is actually a 2024 model.
“Now, I don’t think it’s too much of a big deal, because if you’re going to win a car, that’s great right?” TikTok user @RealityHo said. “But if she’s lying about this, what else is she lying about? Is this a scam? It’s very obviously a lottery, and it should be investigated.”
While TikTok detectives are busy looking into Ella’s latest competition and whether it is a scam or not, Dom entered the comments section to weigh in and this is where things get spicy.
“I have to constantly block them [the ads],” Dom commented. “Let’s just say she scammed me. I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but when I do, this will all make sense.”

What happened between Dom and Ella?
Fans were shocked to learn Dom and Ella had fallen out after the two forged a super strong friendship during their season of MAFS and went on to launch a successful podcast called Sit With Us.
The two faced backlash last year after an interview with controversial MAFS stars Jack Dunkley and Tori Adams, which Dom later detailed significantly impacted their friendship. Dom explained what caused the rift between her and Ella during an episode of her solo podcast Mad Woman.
“The breakdown of our friendship really started when the backlash from Sit With Us happened, I think we had very differing opinions and views on the way to handle the situation,” Dom said.
“For me, I wanted to face it head on. I didn’t want to bury my head in the sand,” Dom continued. “When it’s something as detrimental and fucking huge as what we were dealing with, you can’t just bury your head in the sand. It was making things worse. Justifiably, people were kind of shocked that I wasn’t saying anything.”
Dom said she was told to stay quiet by the podcast’s production team and Ella and it appears the two never resolved things.
If Dom’s latest comments are anything to go by, sounds like there’s still plenty more to the story!

Dave Hand was a fan favourite on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, up until last week anyway. The groom, who was one half of the experiment’s strongest couple alongside Jamie Marinos, lost the support of fans after he and Jamie hit a roadblock after she professed her love for him, with Dave becoming cold and withdrawn.
It was a different side to the empathetic and confident groom we had seen previously. Jamie broke down in tears during last week’s dinner party over his change in demeanour, with Dave doing nothing to offer support or comfort.
At the last commitment ceremony, Dave said he was going to fight for Jamie and their relationship and during home stays, Dave was faced with explaining himself to Jamie’s sister, Georgia Marinos.
While Jamie’s sister raised some valid points about the fact Dave may be feeling only friendship feelings and Jamie has accepted the bare minimum, fans have started feeling sympathy for the groom again, with many taking to social media to say he looks “broken” by the experiment.
MAFS’ Jacqui speaks out about Dave and Jamie: “He was visibly distressed”
In an Instagram story, Jacqui Burfoot answered a question about Dave’s alleged connection with his partner-swap co-star Veronica Cloherty, saying she believed the two were just friends.
“Dave had very sad issues going on at home and became cold and withdrawn from the experiment, it wasn’t just Jamie he was getting withdrawn from, it was everyone,” Jacqui explained. “Backstage he was sad, he was visibly distressed… keep in mind, just because his mood was cold, it doesn’t have anything to do with Jamie.”
MAFS’ Dave hasn’t seemed like himself in recent episodes. Image: Nine
A source who has chosen to remain anonymous but knows Dave in real life says the groom is currently ‘struggling’ watching the storyline play out.
MAFS fans start to rally around Dave again: “Needs to be empathy”
MAFS fans have now started to question the ongoing storyline more, calling the situation between Jamie and Dave ‘sad’.
“He looks absolutely broken,” one person commented on a MAFS Instagram video. “Eyes don’t lie.”
“Dave looks traumatised, an emotional trigger has been pulled for him. I really don’t see him as malicious and it is really very sad,” another said. “There needs to be empathy and understanding. He looks so lost, I can’t believe not one person has recognised that.”
“Poor Dave,” someone else agreed. “I actually feel for Dave… he genuinely seems lost and confused in all of this. But people will just say [it’s] Veronica.”
Other fans agreed that Jamie’s sister had a point in calling out the groom and stating that his feelings towards Jamie were just based on a close friendship.
“Why is everyone trying to say Jamie is forcing him? Yeah, forcing him to be honest. He doesn’t make sense,” someone said. “Why is he out here saying he can picture a future with her but doesn’t have romantic feelings? This isn’t Roommate at First Sight.”
“Jamie, let him lose you. Your ‘forever after’ is out there,” another fan encouraged.

The latestAustralian Survivor Tribal Council saw MylesKuah play a potentially catastrophic Advantage, allowing him to steal an Idol from another player.
The episode was foreshadowed by AJAntonios discovering that LoganJohannisen had an Idol and then teaming up with Myles. This appeared to suggest that AJ would convince Myles to blindside Logan and use her own Idol against her.
However, that wasn’t the case. After Myles informed host Jonathan LaPaglia that he’d be using his Advantage, he turned to Kristin Alston and yeeted her Idol off her, leaving Logan with a smug smile on her face.
Kristin had previously promised her friend Paul ‘PD’ Dee that she’d use the Idol to protect him if need be, but with her power gone, she was unable to do so, and PD was sent packing.

Fans react to Myles’ choice to take Kristin’s Idol
While Myles’ choice to snag Kristin’s Idol certainly made Logan happy, fans have been questioning why he didn’t use the advantage to target a bigger threat, namely by voting Logan out.
“I thought he was going to take Logan’s idol and then blindside her. That would have been an epic move, and I think it would give him a stronger alliance than what he is likely to have now,” one person wrote on Facebook.
“Would love to have seen them blindside Logan. I get, however, that it was a good alliance to break up. Although Kristin will become a vote with the girls for vengeance. Hopefully, Myles can still stir the pot tonight,” another wrote.
A third nutted out a potential scenario that could take place if Myles’ opted to take Logan’s Idol.
“It would take Myles and AJ to vote for Logan; everyone else votes for Paulie [Michael]. Paulie votes PD. Steal Logan’s idol and save Paulie. Logan goes home. Paulie becomes Myles’s ally,” they explained.

However, other viewers saw the strategy behind Myles’ choice.
“I think it was a good move stealing Kristin’s public idol and sending PD home, which no one is going to be upset about except Logan,” One person wrote. “That way, they still have Morgan and Kate [Gloufchis] to turn to their side.”
Another speculated: “I think the tribe seemed to be big fans of an easy consensus boot, and if Myles then pretty much singlehandedly takes out Logan, then everyone is mad at him, and he probably goes next time.”
If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that the game has stepped up on a notch. Bring it on!

I also regret to inform you that Jacqui and Ryan are nervous about their long-distnace relationship. They live one hour and a half apart. That’s how long it takes some people to commute every day. I don’t want to hear it.
That’s 90 minutes that I could be pageanting/warrior-ing. Image: Nine.
Adrian isn’t nervous about seeing Cleo again but says he wants to get “in and out”, something Awhina says he is good at. For her sake, I hope so.
OK, we’re at Jacqui’s house, and it’s not as anal-retentive as I would have imagined. The house, that is. The conversation, however, is a different story.
She tells Ryan that his beard isn’t very manly. Or it isn’t very Manly. I honestly don’t know. I think a beard is both masculine and beach-appropriate, so I’m lost.
Wait, so stubble’s for girls who live in the city? Image: Nine.
Jacqui says she can’t “conversate” with Ryan because his brain is too small. Mine too, apparently, because I’m just now finding out conversate’s a word.
Someone needs to perform an exorcism on this couple, preferably after Jacqui cries over Ryan paying for the flowers that were her idea.

When Aussie Harry Jowsey appeared on the first season of Too Hot To Handle, we think it’s safe to say that no one expected him to rise to fame (or infamy) the way he did. He’s now appeared on countless reality shows, including Perfect Match, Dancing with the Stars and The Amazing Race Australia. However, one thing we really never expected was that he would be dating Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale.
According to US Weekly, a source claims the pair are just casual for now and are “having fun” dating. Apparently, Harry slid into Lucy’s DMs and they initially hit it off because of their mutual sobriety.
“It’s casual and they are having fun, but Harry is very into Lucy,” the source told US Weekly. “Friends around them think they are very cute and are a good, yet surprising match.”
“It was the scariest choice in my life, but also it’s been the best gift,” she told The Diary of a CEO host Steven Bartlett. “When I made that change, everything else changed. My whole life has changed.”
In January, Harry decided to begin his own sobriety journey, declaring on Instagram that he’s “made a sausage” of himself and that’s why he’s going sober for 2025.
“There’s been too many nights where I’ve got a little bit too drunk and accidentally peed the bed,” Harry said in an Instagram video.
Well we can’t deny if going sober is what’s bringing these two together, then we ship it.
Throughout the current season of Australian Survivor, Myles has had numerous votes thrown his way at Tribal Council, and has managed to float from alliance to alliance without cementing a clear number one player.
During an interview with Chattr, Zara said that she believed that Myles’ social game is where he lacks skills.
“Myles is extremely intelligent. He just sometimes lacks social awareness,” she said.
“His knowledge of the game is phenomenal. I was asking him — when Kaelan [Lockhart] made the fire — ‘How many times has this stuff been done in Australian Survivor history?’ and he would know the statistics.
“He knows absolutely everything there is to know about Survivor,” she added. “But sometimes he just lacked the social awareness to get everybody on side with his plans.”
Zara, Logan and Myles on Australian Survivor. Image: Ten.
When did Myles and Zara start working together on Australian Survivor?
Myles and Zara are on the same alliance called The Graduates, which was formed at the very start of the season. The group consists of Kaelen, Zara, Karin, Myles, KarinGunatilake and Alexander “AJ” Antonios who are, interestingly, all still in the game.
However, the five players were split up when the Tribe Swap took place during Episode 7, which saw Myles and Zara sent to the New Brains tribe, and AJ, Kaelen and Karin were all on the New Brawn tribe. However, Zara was switched over to New Brawn in Episode 11.
All five of The Graduates were finally reunited at Merge, which took place in Episode 13. We can’t wait to see what plan they cook up now that they’re back together.
Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
Mike first appeared on MAFS in 2019, in the sixth season of the show and was partnered with Heidi Latcham, with the couple breaking up after Final Vows.
Who is Love Triangle’s Mike Gunner?
Mike Gunner is a 50-year-old videographer from Queensland who has said he has “grown up and become more self-aware” since his first reality TV stint six years ago.
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new – Einstein,” Mike put on his Instagram following the announcement he’d be in Love Triangle. “I participated in another dating show. I won’t be contactable here for a while.”
Mike is one of the leads for Season 3 of Stan’s reality dating show Love Triangle. Image: Stan
What was Mike Gunner’s MAFS storyline?
Mike was married to Heidi on the 2019 series of MAFS and the pair had a turbulent relationship, although they did initially seem like they would be one of the experiment’s strongest couples to start with.
Heidi claimed Mike would speak to her aggressively and he was accused by fans of being sexist and misogynistic.
Mike and Heidi did commit to each other at the end of the show, but Mike said the pair split after they moved in together because he “couldn’t make Heidi happy”.
Heidi later addressed their split, telling 9Now’s Talking Married that she doesn’t look for someone to make her happy and that she and Mike split because they didn’t share the same values.
“I don’t ever look for someone to make me happy. That’s not why I go into a relationship. I make myself happy, and then I look for someone to enjoy my life with, so that’s not true.”
Why is Mike Gunner controversial?
MAFS fans didn’t love Mike due to the sexist nature of some of his comments, including when he weighed in on the fight between Cyrell Paule and MarthaKalifatidis.
“I think groups of women under pressure don’t cope as well as groups of men under pressure. We’re seeing these girls have fallen apart, and the men haven’t,” he said on the show. “Any group of women that are put in this same type of situation just doesn’t speak to their biology … there is actually some merit in that.”
Mike had some controversial moments on MAFS, like telling Heidi he wasn’t her therapist. Image: Nine
Mike later went on to create a podcast, telling The Courier Mailthat he wanted to “change the world”.
“I’m not on a crusade to win back the balance of power to men, but I’d like the scales to be in balance. Equality is what I’m striving for,” he said.
After facing significant backlash during his time on MAFS, Mike told the Sydney Morning Herald that there was a double standard as to how men and women were being treated.
“Unfortunately, that’s the double standard that seems to be occurring at the moment and I personally take umbrage to it, and I refuse to accept that I cannot use words (like ‘darling’) that were terms of endearment only a couple of years ago that now are suddenly seen as something offensive,” he said
“Are men now so emasculated that we can’t speak our minds? That we can’t be real? That we have to somehow fulfill the expectations of those around us? I simply refuse to do that and I am speaking on behalf of all men in this country.”
What is Love Triangle about?
Created by the same people who turned MAFS Into the smash hit it is now, Love Triangle follows five singles who are set up with two online dating matches – except, similar to Love Is Blind, it’s about creating a connection first before laying eyes on one another. After a period of online talking, they choose one match to move in with to see if they can make the romantic connection work in real life.
Along the way, the relationship is challenged by then bringing the other match into the living situation.
Is there a Love Triangle trailer?
You know it! And yes, it looks like Mike won’t be straying far from the drama, telling someone he doesn’t care about their opinion.
Carina Mirable has definitely turned every Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 dinner party into a fashion show, modelling a series of unique outfits and looking like she’s stepped straight onto a Hollywood red carpet.
Now the reality star has revealed the extraordinary cost of her outfits on the show, saying she spent up to $15,000 on her MAFS looks.
“When you think about it, that’s six months of filming, five days a week, and every day has to essentially be a look, and production have to approve your outfit,” Carina revealed in an interview with her hair stylist Jacob Muller, saying fashion comes as “second nature” to her.
MAFS’ Carina reveals weekly cost of hair and makeup after admitting to spending $15,000 on her outfits
Carina said she wanted a “wow” factor in all of her looks and that her outfit choices each week inspired the people around her.
“We really tried to be diverse. I wanted to have a wow factor so that the viewers of the show could get influenced by the looks and get inspired and try to recreate that look when they’re going out or having a dinner party with their friends,” Carina said.
Carina went all out with her dinner party looks. Image: Nine
“From the styling point of view, production doesn’t give you any money or reimbursement, it’s all done on your own end and your own accord,” she continued.
“Every outfit I was wearing, production or the crew were so inspired by my outfits, and they were like, ‘Give me the websites, I wanna go buy what you’ve just worn,'” Carina said. “I felt that was great because I love making people feel good about themselves and inspiring people.”
Carina opens up about backlash as she’s labelled ‘Kmart Kardashian’
Carina has been labelled a Kardashian-wannabe. Image: Nine
Carina said one of her ‘wet hair’ looks had people hating on her, labelling her as a ‘Kardashian’ wannabe.
“I got a lot of hate, and I’m continuing to get a lot of hate,” Carina said. “And it has nothing to do with the Kardashians and how they wear their hair and outfits, it just works best on my style and my body.”
It didn’t stop people in the comments, however, from slamming Carina’s choices, accusing her of wanting to become an influencer instead of focusing on finding love.
“So basically everyone that planned for the full eight weeks of outfits stayed because they had to fill those slots in… it wasn’t about the relationships,” one person bluntly said. “[She] clearly didn’t go on the show to find love then, just trying to get a career outside of the show. What a waste of money on outfits,” another agreed.
“Temu Kardashian,” someone else commented, with someone else replying, “Kmart Kardashian…..only there for her 15 minutes of fame!!”
“I’m sorry?? $12,000?! I mean, slay diva, but holy fuck,” someone else exclaimed.
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
While we’re unlikely to see much of their love story unfold at the reunion, Jacqui has now relocated to Tasmania to be with Clint, with Clint publicly speaking about their relationship to The Daily Mail, saying he’s grateful Jacqui has “put everything on the line” to make their relationship work.
“We moved in with strangers on MAFS, so why not do it in real life, on our terms?” Clint said. “She put everything on the line to make this work. I’m so glad she did.”
MAFS’ Clint reveals how Ryan found about relationship with Jacqui
While currently on the show Jacqui is still paired with Ryan Donnelly, post final-Vows Jacqui and Clint became closer and eventually started a relationship.
Clint has now revealed he sat down with Ryan to break the news to him personally to ensure it wasn’t going to be a dramatic reunion storyline.
Ryan and Jacqui have had a turbulent relationship. Image: Nine
“We didn’t want to be smug about it or throw it in anyone’s face. We wanted to handle things respectfully,” Clint said. “Ryan tried to spin it as though we were mates – but we weren’t. We didn’t know each other before the show, and we won’t know each other after.”
MAFS’ Clint calls treatment of Jacqui ‘disgusting’, gives dire warning to Channel Nine
Jacqui has been quite the divisive character on this season of MAFS, and Clint isn’t happy with how the show has portrayed her.
“She’s smart, successful, and a great role model for young women – but they’re painting her as some kind of villain. It’s disgusting,” Clint said.
The intruder groom also believes that the show has reached a dangerous tipping point, after he alleged that the show threatened to “ruin” him and Lauren if they quit early.
Clint said Channel Nine threatened him and Lauren against leaving early. Image: Nine
“We were done. We wanted out. But then we got a call from Nine, warning us that if we left early, they would make us the most hated couple on Australian TV,” he said. “Looking back, we should have just walked. They stitched us up anyway.”
Clint has said if nothing changes, the show will “end in tragedy”.
“Every year, they push the drama further. If nothing changes, it’s only a matter of time before someone takes their own life because of this show. And it will be on their hands.”

Ahead of the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 Commitment Ceremony starting, John Aiken demands the couples open wide so the experts can come inside. What? He said it!
Let’s recap.
Awhina and Adrian: They have booked a couples massage, which is fine. They stay.
I’ll take you to Nando’s after. Image: Nine.
Veronica and Eliot:
This bin fire couple argue about the below:
Eliot’s personality in private VS with the rest of the group
Whether or not Eliot said “You think you’re pretty smart” to Veronica
Whether or not Eliot has ever asked Veronica to play card games
If Eliot wants to play with Veronica
If Veronica wants to play with Eliot
It was really hard to be mature about the last two. Veronica tells Eliot that she doesn’t hate him, actually, while looking at him with her hatey eyes.
I hate your stinking everything. Image: Nine.
They both leave — finally — but it was likely all worth it for Eliot who was granted an unexpected redemption arc. We just had to create a new villain in the process — actually, two.
Jacqui and Ryan: Jacqui wants equal opportunity in a relationship! She wants to know what’ll happen if she falls into a coma!

Ryan will be the one doing the crying tonight, however, expressing that he “feels inadequate sometimes” and doesn’t measure up to Jacqui’s expectations. Can’t imagine why. Jacqui comforts him and Daddy John digs the vulnerability.
Beth and Teejay: The last intruders standing are still struggling with sex and attraction. He’s physically attracted to her but confirms he is not “sticking his tongue” down her throat. At this point, I think he just needs to stick his tongue anywhere that she consents to.

Carina and Paul: The couple who had their chance prior to MAFS have arrived for their Fanta commercial.
Paul hasn’t learned his lesson about privacy and tells the whole group what Carina said about Cleo.
Orange you glad I lack common sense? Image: Nine.
The experts tell Paul what a dufus move that was and that he lacks the emotional chip of a regular human. He is surprised to find out Carina is questioning their compatibility, and after a wall punch and a vault share… how is this news to him?

Jamie and Dave: Jamie continues telling anyone who’ll listen that Dave doesn’t initiate sex with her. He says he THINKS he has feelings for Jamie before confirming that actually, yes he does.

She thinks this relationship might be fake and doesn’t trust him. They both choose to stay, Jamie so she can “humour” him another week. Romantic!
MasterChef Australia is returning for Season 17 in 2025 and bringing with it a whole new cast of hopeful contestants, and this time, it’s all about unfinished business.
With MasterChef Australia: Back To Win, fan-favourite contestants from seasons past will be stepping up for another shot at the title. Because once is never enough when the stakes are this high, right?
From Season 1 OGs to more recent standouts, these culinary contenders are ready to prove just how much they’ve levelled up since their first run in the MasterChef kitchen.
The judging panel first came together in 2024, with Poh, Jean-Christophe, and Sofia stepping in after the heartbreaking loss of JockZonfrillo and the departure of Melissa Leong, who moved on to lend her expertise to Dessert Masters.
So, who’s back for another shot at kitchen glory? Here is the cast of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025.
Alana Lowes
Alana Lowes. Image: Instagram
Alana Lowes made her mark in MasterChef Australia Season 3, where she came third. She launched a career that’s taken her across the globe as a food and travel presenter, writer, and magazine editor. She’s also dabbled in recipe development, food styling, photography, and even created her own sauce range.
Andre Ursini is back to reignite his passion for cooking, which he first showcased on MasterChef Australia Season 1, where he came 7th. Since then, he’s built a name in the Adelaide food scene, opening the beloved Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar and later launching Orso, Lost Phoenix Farm, and Villetta Porcini.
Audra Morrice splits her time between Sydney and Singapore, juggling roles as a TV presenter, cookbook author, and catering business owner. A judge on MasterChef Singapore and formerly MasterChef Asia, she’s returning to the MasterChef Australia kitchen to showcase diversity and culture through her food.
After MasterChef Australia, Beau Cook pursued his dream of becoming a firefighter but never lost his passion for food. Inspired by Jamie Oliver, he specialises in simple, well-made dishes using homegrown ingredients and hopes to expand his farm-to-table lifestyle with more land, a bigger veggie patch, and animals.
Ben Macdonald returns to MasterChef Australia with his signature dry humour and determination. Over the past 11 years, he’s sharpened his skills by running a café, a bistro, and a fresh pasta delivery business in Auckland, New Zealand.
Callum Hann may know the MasterChef Australia kitchen inside out, but even on his third attempt, the nerves are real. Since his last stint, he’s expanded his food empire with two new Adelaide restaurants, Olive and Roma, while growing his cooking school, Sprout, alongside cookbooks, events, and media commitments.
Callum as on Season 2 where he placed second, and returned for Season 12 and came fourth.
After finishing fifth in 2023, Cath Collins is back with a calmer mindset and a focus on having fun. Since her last run, she’s fully embraced a food-focused life, turning her passion into a career. She was on Season 15 and came fifth.
Fresh off MasterChef Australia Season 16, Darrsh Clarke is diving straight back in for another shot at the title. Now based in Melbourne, he’s immersing himself in the city’s food scene — sharing a house with 2024 winner Nat Thaipun and fellow contestant David Tan, with the trio occasionally teaming up for exclusive private dining experiences.
Darrsh is looking to improve on his sixth-placed finish on MasterChef 2024.
Declan Clearly’s still all about seafood, but this time, he’s bringing a deeper, more creative repertoire to impress the judges. While running his building business, he’s also become a global brand ambassador, traveling for cooking demos and content creation — all while chasing his dream of opening a farm-to-fork venue.
Declan was a fan favourite on Season 15 and came third.
Since her last MasterChef Australia Season 13 appearance, where she came eighth, Depinder Chhibber has launched Ghar, a supper club celebrating Indian home-style dining, and even appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef India in 2023. Known for her incredible Indian cuisine and calm presence, she’s back to inspire her daughters to believe in themselves and chase their passions.
Since MasterChef Australia Season 6 ignited his dream (where he placed fourth), Jamie Fleming has launched two successful venues — Brisbane’s award-winning Alba Bar & Deli and, in 2024, Spill Wine in Maleny. For Jamie, food is his love language, and he’s all about creating meaningful dining experiences through every dish he serves.
Jimmy Wong

Back in MasterChef Australia Season 8, Jimmy Wong competed alongside his sister Theresa and came 19th. This time, he’s flying solo. Now a full-time food photographer, content creator, and brand ambassador, he’s back with the same passion and a sharper skill set to take on the competition.
Will the third time be the charm for Adelaide’s Laura Sharrad? With two runner-up titles to her name, she’s more determined than ever to finally take the crown. As co-owner of Fugazzi Bar & Dining and pasta bar Nido, she’s built an enviable career, proving her talent goes far beyond Italian cuisine.
Since MasterChef Australia Season 7, where he came sixth, Matt Hopcraft has balanced his career in dentistry (now an associate professor at Melbourne University) with his passion for food. Having honed his pasta-making skills in professional kitchens, he’s back to bring more refinement to his dishes while staying true to his love for simple, down-to-earth flavours.
After finishing runner-up in MasterChef Australia Season 13, Pete Campbell wasted no time diving into the industry, working under Peter Gilmore at Sydney’s Quay. With pop-ups in New York and a stint at Sydney’s Poly, he’s back to prove he has what it takes to finally claim the top spot.
Rhiannon Anderson is back with her bold South East Asian flavours. Since her last run on Season 15 where she came second, she’s launched Rhiplenish, hosting cooking demos and collaborating with brands, and this time, she’s more focused than ever on taking it all the way.
Rue Mupedzi is back with a second chance and no room for fear. Since MasterChef Australia Season 15, where she came seventh, she’s honed her skills through private catering and cooking courses. Now, she’s ready to prove her growth, perseverance, and competitive edge in the kitchen.
Samira El Khafir first wowed audiences in MasterChef Australia 2013, finishing third while juggling life as a hairdresser and busy mum. Since then, she’s launched her own café, authored a cookbook, developed recipes, and created a range of low-carb products, all while championing modern Middle Eastern cuisine.
Since her MasterChef Australia journey, Sarah Todd has built a stellar career as an international chef, restaurateur, author, and TV host. Known for blending French techniques with bold Indian flavours, she was honoured by India’s Prime Minister in 2023 for her impact on the food industry, the same year she launched her hit sauce brand, Hot Toddy.
Sarah came ninth on Season 6 and second on Season 14.
After finishing third last season, Sav Perera is back with a fierce determination to make this chance count. Since MasterChef Australia, she’s launched her own business as a private chef and caterer while earning hero status in Sri Lanka for showcasing her homeland’s cuisine on the global stage.
Snezana Calic is back to proudly represent the Serbian community with heartfelt, flavoursome dishes. Since her last MasterChef Australia run, the mum of two has honed her skills in restaurants, hosted pop-up cooking classes, created food content, and started work on a cookbook celebrating Mediterranean and Serbian cuisine.
Snezana was loved by fans and placed 15th on Season 16.
Bright and bubbly social media sensation Steph de Sousa has amassed nearly three million followers as the Frugal Foodie, known for her quick, budget-friendly meals. Since finishing 12th in Season 11, she’s authored two cookbooks, hosted her own TV series, and now has her sights set on cracking the Top 10 and beyond.
After finishing fourth in Season 15, Theo Loizou is back with his eyes on the prize. Dubbed the Bread Boy, he’s been diving deeper into his Greek heritage while gaining restaurant experience. He’s still working as an electrician but steadily working toward his dream of opening his own bakery.
After finishing fourth in Season 11, Ballarat’s Tim Bone turned his passion into Tim’s Toasties, a hit mobile gourmet toastie business celebrating regional produce. Now the owner of a brick-and-mortar store and a host on Good Chef, Bad Chef, he’s back in the MasterChef Australia kitchen as a new man.
That’s right, The runaway groom who famously walked out on his first bride, Lauren Hall, returned to be paired with 32-year-old Miss Universe contestant Veronica. So was it second time lucky?
Are MAFS’ Veronica and Eliot still together? Here’s everything we know.
One of the major turning points for Eliot and Veronica was the Partner Swap portion of the experiment, during which Eliot shared a bed with Rhi Disljenkovic. Yikes.
Eliot and Veronica finally called it quits in MAFS Episode 29. Image: Nine
Things only got worse with Veronica’s Honesty Letter, which was packed with comparisons to her Partner Swap match, Dave Hand. By the time the Episode 29 Commitment Ceremony arrived, Eliot admitted he felt like Veronica “hates his guts” and that he couldn’t see a way forward.
Their ongoing clashes were on full display on the couch, with Eliot accusing Veronica of “blatant lies”. As their he-said, she-said battle unfolded, expert John pointed out the complete lack of respect between them. “Where’s the truth?” added Mel.
In the end, both decided to leave the experiment.
“I really did give it my best shot,” Eliot said, while Veronica admitted, “I don’t think there was hope for this eventuating into anything more”.
Eliot and Veronica’s pairing
Eliot caused quite the stir when he ditched the experiment early, claiming he had no spark with his first TV wife, Lauren. Their honeymoon was a disaster, with Eliot branding her “superficial” for having luxury luggage. Ouch.
By day two, he packed his (non-designer) bags and left.
Eliot was originally hitched to Lauren Hall. Image: Nine
Another sticking point for the business owner was that Lauren, 37, was two years older than him. Eliot, 35, was very vocal about wanting to be paired with someone in their 20s. Veronica, meanwhile, is 32.
According to her Nine bio, the actress and personal trainer was looking for someone “who brings joy and laughter into her life” and has a strong sense of empathy. I guess it was a tall order?
Was Veronica just in it for the clout?
While things weren’t exactly smooth sailing for these two, an on-set rumour suggested that Veronica had never been in it for love, but for a little career boost. Shocker!
According to Daily Mail Australia, Veronica was “nothing but trouble” on set, with insiders saying she was a challenge for both her groom and production.
“It’s all about her, and it’s becoming a bit of a nightmare for everyone that tries to cross paths,” an insider spilled.
“She’s treating this show like a personal audition,” another source claimed. “The minute the cameras are on, she’s performing. But behind the scenes, it’s all about advancing her career.”
Are MAFS’ Eliot and Veronica together outside the experiment?
While things don’t always end on good terms, it seems this couple’s split was more than just a little sour, especially since the MAFS pair aren’t even following each other on Instagram. Oh boy.
At this stage, it’s pretty clear they’re not together outside the experiment.
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 very quickly rips the hope away from its viewers every year, with plenty of couples exiting the experiment as quickly as they entered it. By the time we get to final vows, it can honestly be hard to remember who left MAFS and when — especially if they didn’t make a lasting impression like, say, Collins Christian of MAFS 2024.
MAFS Season 12 is well and truly underway for 2025, and couples are dropping like flies. We’d heard whispers of a mass exodus and a scramble from producers to replace their fallen, but I don’t think anything quite prepared us for how many of the MAFS cast would lack second chances and common decency.
Keep reading for everyone who has left MAFS 2025 so far.
Veronica’s Honesty Letter was too much for Eliot
Veronica and Eliot. Image: Nine
For Eliot Donovan, Veronica Cloherty‘s Honesty Letter, which was filled with comparisons to her Partner Swap match, Dave, was the final nail in the coffin. Convinced she “hates his guts”, Eliot saw no way forward.
On the couch, Eliot and Veronica’s constant clashes were on full display.
Eliot accused Veronica of “blatant lies,” while expert John pointed out the total lack of respect between them. Things took a weird turn when Veronica got frustrated that Eliot had taught his Partner Swap Wife, Rhi, a card game but never invited her to play, despite Eliot saying he had.
Expert Mel summed it up perfectly: “Where’s the truth?”
Ultimately, Eliot admitted defeat: “I really did give it my best shot”. Veronica agreed: “I don’t think there was hope for this eventuating into anything more.” Both chose to leave the experiment
Lauren and Clint wanted out of the “peanut gallery”
Clint and Lauren during Couples Retreat. Image: Nine
Clint called the MAFS social settings “an absolute embarrassment” and slammed the “peanut gallery” for ruining the experience. While Lauren said she was “attacked” at Girls’ Night by Awhina, Jamie, and Beth, calling their behaviour “boganic.”
In terms of how the two get along outside shitting on their fellow castmates, however, Clint admitted he came looking for something “intimate and affectionate,” but revealed “I don’t feel like I want to jump into bed with Lauren.”
Lauren also straight-up confessed there was no spark at the Couples Retreat.
Despite Lauren insisting she gave it her all (debatable), they both agreed: “It’s just not there,” and thus their MAFS journey came to a close.
That said, Clint left the door slightly open, saying he’d be keen to see where things go outside the experiment… Maybe even to Tassie? Lauren also said she’s open to it, but we’re not holding her breath.
Morena and Tony ditched despite huge “penetration” on their wedding day
Morena mysteriously vanished before the ceremony, leaving Tony to face the experts alone. Just when it seemed like she was going to be a no-show, she charged through the doors soap-opera style, exclaiming, “Did you really think I wasn’t going to come? Did you really think I was going to give him the last word?!”. Even for MAFS, it was dramatic.
On the couch, Tony claimed that Morena’s personality was “too much” for him. Morena clapped back, saying it had nothing to do with her personality and everything to do with her age (57).
She accused Tony of using the baby excuse as a cop-out, while the experts echoed that he never once mentioned wanting children before. Seems pretty suss.
After some very intense back-and-forth (Morena insisted that the connection on their MAFS wedding day was a huge “penetration”), they both agreed to leave. But Morena wrote “Good riddance”on her Commitment Card. So… take that, Tony?
Sierah and Billy called it quits after meat plate-gate
Things took a turn after Sierah admitted she found it easier to talk to Adrian Araouzou following a private dinner (specifically, a plate of meat). Both Billy and Adrian’s wife, Awhina Rutene, weren’t exactly jazzed about the revelation, veggies or not.
At the commitment ceremony, Sierah apologised to Awhina but didn’t do the same for Billy. Meanwhile, Billy was put on blast for joking about a “wife swap” with Adrian. Though he apologised, he made it clear he felt neglected, saying he got “sweet F-A” from Sierah.
Both chose to leave, but after an emotional chat, Sierah had second thoughts.
Unfortunately for her, Billy didn’t. “I don’t regret my decision,” he said.
Adrian bailed on Awhina after feeling left out

Adrian is at the centre of the drama this MAFS season, but, sadly for him, not the centre of attention. He went home after not being included in a promotional shoot that some MAFS stars were asked to do during the filming of the show.
His wife, Awhina, tried to call him and urge him to return, but he was adamant about leaving.
He did eventually return home to her in the next episode which was honestly a bit of a surprise, especially considering his current relationship with Awhina outside the experiment.
Jake and Ash make a shock exit after the first Commitment Ceremony
Jake Luik and Ashleigh Ackerman’s relationship fell apart fast. Image: Nine
Although Jake Luik and Ashleigh Ackerman started their MAFS 2025 journey as a match with plenty of banter and potential, things definitely soured during the Photo Ranking task. After Jake made derogatory statements about other brides, not to mention the controversial comment, “I’m not racist or nothing; I like Caucasians mainly,” and Ash then relaying this information to fellow MAFS bride Sierah Swepstone, things were rocky, to say the least at the Commitment Ceremony.
It came as no surprise when Jake wrote “Leave”, but since Ash wrote “Stay”, imploring Jake to try harder with their relationship and work through issues, the couple remained in the experiment. However, it seemed the drama was the final straw for Jake, who packed his bags and left the following day. Ash followed suit, and we saw another relationship bite the dust.
Tim and Katie leave at the very first Commitment Ceremony
Tim Gromie and Katie Johnson were a car crash from the get-go. While it seemed like a perfect match, Tim told producers on his MAFS wedding day that Katie wasn’t his usual type and that he wanted to leave the experiment.
Tim Gromie and Katie Johnson initially seemed like a great MAFS match. Image: Nine.
Things only got worse for the pair on their MAFS 2025 honeymoon when Tim told Katie that he didn’t feel a spark. At the following dinner party, Tim convinced Katie that she wasn’t making any effort in their marriage, and all hell broke loose from fellow participant Jamie Marinos.
At the very first Commitment Ceremony, Tim dramatically showed up after not even moving into the Skye Suites apartments with Katie. The pair both wrote leave and left MAFS 2025 for good, with fans begging for Katie’s return to MAFS ever since.
Lauren and Eliot left MAFS before the first dinner party (and then returned)
Eliot Donovan continuously threatened to leave MAFS 2025 if he didn’t see the relationship going anywhere. I don’t know if this is some Jedi mind trick to make us feel proud of him for sticking to his word; however, it’s true that he did exactly that.
Things quickly took a turn for Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan after their MAFS wedding. Image: Nine.
After initially feeling happy with his match,Lauren Hall, at their wedding, things quickly turned for the pair when he got up and left on their honeymoon. He blames non-negotiables that he couldn’t see past, like Lauren only wanting one child and Eliot wanting several.
Lauren attended the first dinner party with a question mark over whether her MAFS groom would attend. However, by the end of the night, he was nowhere to be seen, and Lauren said her goodbyes to the group as she left MAFS 2025.
Australian Survivor 2025 has officially reached Merge — the Brains and Brawn are all playing together and against each other.
A recent episode saw a Tribe Swap reunite ZaraCallianiotis with some of her OG Brains alliances prior to Merge, and the mum-of-three told Chattr that she and Logan Johannisen came up with a plan heading into it.
Immediately after Merge was announced, the remaining thirteen contestants took part in a Reward Challenge that saw them hanging off a rope. Kate won and chose Logan, Zara, MorganMcLeod, PaulieMichael, Kristin Alston and Alexander “AJ” Antonios to a pop-up cocktail bar.
Zara said while she was pleased to be included in the Reward group, she and Logan purposely threw the challenge to protect themselves.
“Half of us get sent off to this beautiful reward where we’re eating and drinking, and we could actually see the other half of the tribe not getting that reward,” she explained.
“So I’m glad that I wasn’t the one who had to pick the people that got to go on the reward, and that was part of my strategy, was actually not to win that — which Logan and I discussed. So we didn’t have to be the ones picking and choosing who was going on the reward.”

Zara’s advantage going into the Survivor Merge
Zara started Australian Survivor on the Brains team, and when the first Tribe Swap happened, she returned to Brains — otherwise known as the New Brains.
Then, when an advantage popped up that sent the contestant voted out at Tribal Council to the New Brawn tribe, Zara was sent over.
Laura and Zara at the Tribal that saw Zara sent to the New Brawn tribe. Image: Ten.
The switch-a-roo meant that she was the only contestant to play with every cast-away pre-Merge.
“I do think it was an advantage at the Merge because everyone saying ‘Hi, I’m Zara. I’m 44. I’m from Brisbane’ and I’d already done that.
“Everyone already had a basis and a working relationship with me. I did have plans set in place with every single player out there.”
Will Zara’s groundwork see her triumph now that the tribes have combined?
Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
It turns out everyone in Australia watches Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025: even our very own Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese.
The PM recently shared a selfie with one of the experiment’s strongest couples, Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic, captioning the photo, “I’m pro marriage – hope to have one this year! Bumped into @mafs stars Jeff and Rhi in Perth.”
So did Albo just confirm that Jeff and Rhi are still going strong? Seems like it, although the news isn’t exactly a huge spoiler for fans of the show. The couple, who previously dated and were shocked to find each other at the end of the aisle, started off as friends during the experiment but have now emerged as the show’s strongest couple.
MAFS’ Rhi and Jeff meet an eager fan. Image: Instagram.com
They were also recently snapped together celebrating Jeff’s 40th birthday in Melbourne, arriving hand in hand and looking perfectly matched in all-white ensembles.
Thankfully it appears as though Albo has given us another green light that the couple are definitely going strong, so maybe love isn’t dead after all!
Aussies slam Albo for his love of MAFS
While here at Chattr we’re obviously obsessed with MAFS, turns out not everyone has been happy with Albo sharing his selfie with what we assume to be his two fave participants.
“Seriously, this show is an insult to intelligence, I could never watch it,” one person said. “MAFS being pro marriage is a LOL,” another commented.
“Anything for a photo op instead of BRINGING THE COST OF LIVING DOWN!” someone else said, with another saying, “Yeh, nah. This isn’t it. Supporting a show that clearly falls well short of protecting their participants.”
“Yeah, this tracks. You would watch a show like that and not acknowledge the state of male-on-women violence in this country,” another pointed out.
Some took a light-hearted approach in the comments. “Ya know, even PMs need to watch trash TV too,” one person joked. “Bro, should go to a dinner party next season as a special guest,” another remarked.
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Shortly before the new Brains tribe headed to face JonathanLaPaglia at Tribal, Laura found an advantage that revealed whoever was voted out that night wouldn’t be eliminated but instead sent to the other team.
Laura had also formed a new alliance with Zara and OG brawn members KateGloufchis and MorganMcLeod called Girls Gone Wild, and they had a secret plan to target JesseNoonan. However, with the new twist in play, Laura wanted to be voted out so that she could join OG Brains players who she’d formed strong connections with.
What ensued was chaos, with Laura first revealing the advantage to Zara and then telling the whole new Brains team about it at Tribal, after Zara told her she’d be “deserting her like a rat” if she left.
THEN, Zara spun the votes in her favour and flounced off to the new Brawn tribe, leaving a very bitter-looking Laura behind. However, despite heading back to some of her strongest connections, like KarinGunatilake and Alexander “AJ” Antonios, Zara said she didn’t want Laura to reveal the advantage at all.
Laura when she found out Zara was being sent to the other Australian Survivor tribe. Image: Ten.
“My original thought when we found that clue was, let’s stick with what we had planned. Let’s send Jesse over there because the next morning, when we all go out onto the mat, all the old Brawn will see each other, and it would be pretty evident that people had flipped,” she told Chattr.
Zara added that she thought by keeping the advantage a secret and staying with the plan of voting for Jesse, she and Laura would be able to test out their Girls Gone Wild alliance and see if Kate and Morgan unheld their end without any consequences.
Does Zara feel bad about leaving Laura behind?
Zara told Chattr that she was fairly certain that the new Brains tribe would choose to send her to the new Brawn tribe, once the advantage was revealed.
“I had actually built really great relationships with the guys over there, with PD [Paul Dee], BenBylett and Jesse, and I knew that Myles [Kuah] being in my alliance of The Graduates, he would want to send me back to our other people.
“So once I knew that it was going to be a pitch between Laura and I had a feeling it was going to be me going,” she explained.
Zara thought Laura would understand the move and wanted to continue working with her once they made Merge.
Laura and Zara battling in an Australian Survivor challenge. Image: Ten.
“It was going to be a roll of the dice to try and get Laura back on my side after that happened. I think that you have to look at it and think, would I do that to someone in my real life? Absolutely not. But, I think Survivor is every man for himself.”
“Every move that you make, you have to think about whether or not that’s going to get you further in the game. And basically, every move you make, you are burning some kind of bridge. So then you have to weigh up all of the options and work out if you’re going to be able to rebuild that bridge.”
Zara said she took into account that her bold move might annoy Laura’s close ally Logan Johannisen, who’s on the New Brawn tribe, but said that she had to do what was best for her own game.
“I definitely weighed up the option of whether or not Logan would be happy with me,” she explained.
“But, at that stage, I desperately wanted to get back over there to see what was going on with The Graduates. I could sense on the mat [at challenge], that AJ and Karin were having some conflicts, so I felt desperate to get back over there as quickly as possible to try and smooth that over before Merge came.”
Will Zara’s move pay off? Or will Logan and Laura turn on her? We can’t wait to find out!
Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
