Can Big Brother housemates have sex in the house?

When you dump a bunch of people into a house for 30 days, relationships are bound to form. That’s what we’ve seen on Big Brother Australia 2025 so far, with sparks flying between Coco Beeby and Bruce Dunne, as well as Colin Ridley and Holly Young. But are contestants allowed to have sex in the Big Brother Australia house, and are there strict rules around consent?

According to the latest evictee, Jane Marshall-Doherty, housemates are given a “code of conduct” before entering the house, with consent rules clearly outlined. “There is a code of conduct, and I think it’s 150 pages,” she tells Chattr. “Say a couple go off, like Coco and Bruce… you have to give consent to cuddle up and maybe kiss.”

It happens each time the housemates want to get close, so perhaps Big Brother gives them a nudge when he sees sparks start to fly. “You would be reminded of it. So if they’re hooking up, they’ll be reminded of it all the time,” Jane spills.

However, Jane wasn’t sure if people were actually allowed to have sex in the house, and she didn’t ask producers what sexual health supplies were provided. Considering she had an adverse reaction to two people kissing, this tracks.

“It’s a family show, so I don’t really know. I don’t know, I didn’t go and ask [for condoms],” she laughs.

A Channel 10 spokesperson confirmed that contestants must adhere to a specific code of conduct. “Big Brother runs a tight ship and has strict house rules everyone must follow. His code of conduct prioritises respect, consent and accountability,” they said.

Former Big Brother Australia housemate reveals more sex rules

Big Brother Australia 2021 runner-up Christina Podolyan recently shared a TikTok outlining some surprising rules the housemates have to follow, and she claimed they were allowed to have sex on her season.

“You have to ask Big Brother for permission before you get jiggy with it,” she revealed. “Let’s say you’re about to get it on, right. You’d literally have to get up, you have to go to the diary room… you have to say, ‘Big Brother, may I please have consent’… and then the other person has to come in and say, ‘Big Brother, may I please have your permission to get down and dirty with someone’, and then Big Brother says yes or no.”

Sounds like that would kill the mood!

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Fans are convinced the Big Brother eviction phone call was fake: ‘Suspicious’

The Big Brother Australia house lost two more housemates in a shocking double eviction. Jane, Allana and Mia were all up on the chopping block, with Jane being the first housemate to be sent packing.

But the real twist came after she left! A lucky ‘superfan’ was given the opportunity to call in and save one of the remaining nominees — they chose Allana, effectively sending Mia home.

But viewers are convinced that this so-called ‘superfan’ was actually just a producer in disguise.

A handful of Internet sleuths are claiming the voice of this ‘fan’ is an exact match to Rebecca Andrews (a former casting producer for the show) and have even dug up old videos of her speaking on her TikTok and Instagram accounts to prove it’s a perfect match.

They also claim the tone of her voice and the way she spoke was way too familiar – like a co-worker chatting to another co-worker, rather than an excited ‘superfan’.

Fans have also pointed out inconsistencies with the timing of said call to the Big Brother house, claiming it was very suspicious that the caller, based in Queensland, knew exactly when to call, even though the episode had not yet started airing in the state.

A viewer comes forward claiming to be the mystery caller

The alleged caller and a few fans online have come forward to discuss how they were selected to participate in the phone call.

These viewers claim that they were coached by producers on how to speak if they were to get through, but not exactly on what they should say. The show’s ‘super fan’ says she was also told to watch the show live through the Channel 10 app, which automatically sets to NSW time.

A few Reddit users have also chimed in to say Rebecca’s voice ‘doesn’t even sound the same’ as the viewer who phoned in.

“Voice doesn’t sound the same to me” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Isabel doesn’t regret not doing a Love Island exit interview: ‘I was very upset’

Isabel’s dramatic dumping on Love Island Australia was followed by her storming out of the villa and refusing to do an exit interview. Isabel’s emotions were obviously higher — despite Connor’s decision to leave with her — but she doesn’t regret not taking the time to have one last interview.

As Connor and Isabel were leaving the villa, the episode showed producers stopping them for a goodbye message.

“The exit interview is just kind of your last chance to say your piece,” the producer explained.

However, Isabel responded by saying she’s “not saying anything” and that she just wanted to go.

So, looking back, does the 27-year-old regret not sharing her last thoughts before leaving the villa? Apparently not!

Why didn’t Isabel do an exit interview on Love Island?

Isabel made the choice to decline her exit interview, and in a post-elimination interview on the Love Island Australia podcast, Officially Unpacked, she said she doesn’t regret her choice.

“Because I was very upset,” she explained.

Isabel added that she did an on-camera interview the next day when she was calmer, but she pointed out the high tension in the villa after they left showed how upset everyone was over the couple’s departure.

“I don’t regret it…. But, I think you can see the reaction on everyone when we left — they all know what actually happened in that villa — and they were all so upset. You can see the raw emotion.’

Isabel added that seeing the disappointment from her fellow Islander’s after her elimination made her feel better.

“It was actually really nice watching it back, because I didn’t remember that, like, I forgot everyone’s emotion, because I was like, feeling like I was having an out-of-body experience, and my head was spinning. So to watch, like all of my friends, and the way that they were reacting,” she explained.

“Everyone was angry and upset, and it was beautiful to see how intense my connection was with everyone.”

“And, the talking in the beach hut,” Connor added. “You don’t ever see what they say in the beach hut, what they were saying in the beach hut, was just like, beautiful.”

Love Island Australia 2025 airs Monday – Thursday on 9Now.

Big Brother’s Jane explains her Donald Trump support: ‘Family values’

Big Brother’s oldest and one of the most outspoken housemates, ‘Groovy Granny’ Jane Marshall-Doherty, has been evicted following last night’s shock double eviction.

Jane became the 13th housemate to enter the Big Brother house after the Australian public was given the choice between her and Mitch for the final spot. She quickly won over viewers with her confidence — but fans soon spotted a detail that, had it been revealed earlier, might have stopped Jane from claiming that 13th spot altogether.

As stated in her official Big Brother bio — which was published after she entered the house — Jane is a supporter of Donald Trump, and some fans have speculated whether this played a role in her early exit.

However, in an exclusive interview with Chattr, Jane explained that her admiration isn’t just political, it’s about family values.

“You know, half of America voted for him,” Jane spilled. “And his wife, she’s beautiful. The family is so well-spoken, and the grandchildren are amazing. He must be doing something right.”

“That’s why I like him,” she added.

Jane also made it clear she admires people who stick to their principles.

“That’s what he does. I’m not saying, ‘Come over here [Australia] and let’s all do this,’” she said. “He’s got a job to do — running his country, looking after his family, his children, his grandchildren,” she continued.

“I admire him. I admire the family for that.”

Fans respond to discovering Big Brother’s Jane is a Trump fan

After being vocal about supporting Donald Trump, as noted in her Big Brother bio, Jane has received a lot of backlash on social media. She told Chattr that, while she hasn’t seen the backlash herself, she understands why people might have strong opinions.

“Yikes, Jane is a passionate Trump supporter, that’s embarrassing, it’s literally in her bio on 10’s website,” one viewer commented, which another wrote: “Jane is a Trumpie; she needs to go.”

“Save anyone but Jane. Get the Trumpy out!” A third chimed in.

Big Brother’s Jane is a Charlie Kirk supporter, too

Jane’s respect for people who live by their principles doesn’t stop with Trump. She also told Chattr that she’s a supporter of the late Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA. For Jane, it wasn’t just politics; it was his strong family values and Christian faith that stood out.

“Charlie Kirk, I probably supported him even more,” Jane shared. “It really affected me when he was murdered. It just hit me so hard, she continued.”

“He was a big Trump supporter, but I didn’t like him because of that. I admired him because he lived by his Christian values.”

While she admitted she didn’t agree with everything he did, Jane was still stunned by his loss.

“A young dad, a man like that, who was amazing in whatever he did,” she said.

“His family values were incredible, that’s why it hit me so much seeing his family lose their dad.”

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Big Brother’s Jane responds to rumours that Holly is favoured by production

There have been whispers circulating that Big Brother Australia producers are doing everything they can to keep controversial housemate Holly Young in the house, but Jane has promptly shut them down, telling Chattr that she believes the model will be evicted next.

In an interview following her eviction on November 23, Jane said that she doesn’t believe that Holly has been favoured by production.

“No way. She’ll be up for nomination this week, and she’ll go,” the grandma of four told Chattr.

Holly received the most votes from her fellow cast members in the first nominations and was immune from the second eviction because she was made head housemate by Michael.

But, Jane is convinced that Holly will be back on the block come the next nomination ceremony, pointing out that she received more votes from the public than Jane did to leave in week one.

“I think they’ll she’ll have a high amount of votes,” she said. “My son couldn’t help but tell me last night that I got a bigger percentage of votes to stay than Holly did. That made me smile. So, based on that information, I think she probably will go this week.”

However, PEDESTRIAN.TV recently reported producers “working overtime” to keep Holly in the house.

“Holly is too valuable. They’re trying everything they can behind the scenes to steer the edit so she survives,” an insider claimed.

“If Holly goes, producers lose a third of their season arc. She’s the linchpin.”

Jane had a feeling she was getting evicted from Big Brother

Jane wasn’t one of the original Big Brother housemates; she entered as the 13th contestant after host Mel Tracina had the Australian public vote between her and 36-year-old Mitch for the final spot.

Jane was chosen and sent in with the mission of staying hidden from the other housemates for a specified amount of time. Jane failed the mission, which means she was automatically put up for eviction in week one.

However, in week two, she received 14 nomination points from the other houseguests, and she was nominated in her own right. Jane told Chattr that in week one, she didn’t think she’d go home, but things changed when she was nominated for a second time.

“I didn’t really think that I was going the first week, but then the second week, I thought, Okay, now they’ve all nominated me,” she explained.

“And the young people out there will probably be sick of the grandma who’s giving her opinions to all the young people. So I think I will be going. I didn’t really want to go.

However, Jane said the silver lining of being evicted from Big Brother Australia in week two was that she’ll be able to attend a special milestone for her granddaughter.

“I’ve got my granddaughter’s graduation, and I can’t wait for Friday. She will be so happy that her famous grandmother will be at kindy, you know. So I’m really looking forward to that,” she said.

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Love Island’s Yana calls out Lacey for hooking up with Kye: ‘Saw that I was distressed’

Lacey and Yana’s friendship began to unravel after Yana’s ex-boyfriend, Kye, entered thLove Island Australia villa, and Lacey chose to explore a connection with him. While Lacey was dumped from the villa shortly after hooking up with Kye, Yana has since called her out in an interview for prioritising her fling over their friendship and her feelings.

The drama began when Lacey went on the Love Island Australia podcast, Officially Unpacked after her elimination, and implied her friendship with Yana wasn’t that strong when Kye entered the villa.

“Her basic thing was, I love Yana, but we were only in there for four days. And, hey, what are you gonna do? It’s Love Island!” Officially Unpacked host Eoghan McDermott explained of Lacey’s explanation about hooking up with Kye in a follow-up interview.

Yana told Eoghan that she was “disappointed in the way that [Lacey] answered that”, and stressed that they had a strong friendship prior to Kye’s arrival.

“Look, I don’t want to bag anyone out, but I was quite taken aback by that, because by day four, just before Kye came in, it felt like we had been in there for a month. The days go so slowly because you don’t have any distractions. All you’re doing is getting to know the people you’re around. You don’t have a phone to pick up, you’re always just talking.

“And so Lace and I, I think we were the youngest at this stage, and we were so close. Like, we really were very close. I felt like she was my girl in there. And as much as she’ll dumb it down that we weren’t that close, we were. Even coming out of the villa, she’s tried to reach out to me and be like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and all this.

“And I just think it’s a bit rude that she comes on here and says we weren’t really that close, when we really were. The cameras didn’t show it as much, but we were so solid.”

Yana thinks Lacey could have handled the Kye situation better

When Kye entered the Love Island Australia villa, Lacey made it clear that he was her type and didn’t seem particularly concerned about Yana, who was obviously upset by his arrival.

Looking back, Yana told Eoghan that she thinks Lacey could have been more considerate of her feelings while exploring a connection with Kye.

“There’s definitely some [different] ways she could have gone about it,” she said.

“[She could have] just made sure that I was okay, because she clearly saw that I was distressed. I think there was a better way she could have gone about it, obviously, than going and kissing him straight away. Like, as much as she’ll say she wasn’t the first one to kiss him…

“She could have been a bit more there for me, considering we were so close. And I’m sure if the roles were reversed, it’d be World War Seven.”

Callum Hole reveals the insane amount of money he’s made from Love Island

Callum Hole is one of the most well-known Islanders to ever come out of Love Island Australia, and the 27-year-old has revealed the insane amount of money he’s made from the show.

Callum made his Love Island Australia debut back in 2022 on Season 4, and since then, he’s competed on Love Island Games Season 1, been a regular panellist on the Love Island Games Season 2 and Love Island US Season 7.

Outside of the franchise, he’s starred on I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here Australia and Aussie Shore, among others. So, it’s safe to say that Callum’s reality TV career has flourished since his first villa stint.

How much money has Callum Hole made from Love Island Australia?

During an interview on the official Love Island Australia podcast, Officially Unpacked, the Welsh-born Aussie revealed how much money he’s made off the show.

“Half a million more. No, more,” he told host Eoghan McDermott, who also narrates the series.

Callum — who came runner-up on his first season despite barely finding a substantial romantic connection — explained that the fact he wasn’t in a serious couple helped boost his earning potential.

“But a lot of it does come from, as well, when I first came off Love Island, my first one, because I was seen as that single party boy, sort of thing, I got a lot of work, straight off the bat, like, club appearances. I would do club appearances for 10-15 grand for, like, a two-hour appearance, you know, you do three of them a week. That s**t adds up quickly

“But I feel like, when the couples come out and they’re actually in couples, they get less opportunities like that.”

Callum singled out Lacey, who struck up three romantic connections during her short time on Love Island Australia 2025, as the kind of person who could thrive financially off the show.

“I feel like people like, like, Lacey, what I’m trying to say is you don’t have to win Love Island to do well off it. If you’re single when you come off the show, you just automatically get more work. That’s just how it is.”

Love Island’s Isabel slams mean girl claims over bombshell treatment: ‘Edit was f**cked’

Isabel has gone after the new female bombshells, Mia and Boston, with all guns blazing in recent Love Island Australia episodes, accusing them of being “pick me” girls and not girls’ girls. However, she’s taken to Instagram to clarify that she bonded with the bombs, and said she’s just gotten a bad edit.

The new bombshells first ruffled feathers with the OG girls when they dated the OG men, while their partners watched on a big screen TV. Boston struck up a connection with Ross, who Isabel’s best friend in the villa, Sharn, has been coupled with since day one.

As Ross and Boston’s connection grew once all of the cast were back in the villa, Isabel encouraged Sharn to give Ross an ultimatum, and called Ross out on his behaviour — even once covering her partner Connor’s mouth with her hand while she gave Ross a dressing down.

Sharn and Isabel also had multiple conversations dismissing the new bombs, which is when they called Mia and Boston ‘pick me girls’. For the uninitiated, a ‘pick me girl’ is basically someone who seeks male approval by putting down other women and acting differently from other girls.

After these conversations, the male Islanders called out the woman for being rude to the newcomers, which really set off Isabel, who confronted Mia and wouldn’t let her get a word in.

Fans have taken to the official Love Island Australia Instagram page to call Isabel out over her treatment of the bombs.

“Izzy, the mean girl. True colours from that girl,” one person wrote. Another penned, “Connor was too scared to say anything, and Izzy covering his mouth was foul behaviour.”

Love Island Australia’s Izzy responds to mean girl accusations

Izzy has claimed that the scene showing her confronting Mia didn’t really happen like it played out on TV.

“Guys, I am just as rattled as everyone else! Mia and I literally hugged and laughed it off immediately after I finished talking,” she wrote on a TikTok post.

Isabel went on to say that she reassured Mia that she hated that she felt left out, which is why she wanted to talk to the bomb, and touched on why she wouldn’t let her speak.

“[Mia] explained she isn’t used to girls’ girl/female environments, which prompted my advice. I was being spoken over after listening to her side, so I said, “I’m still talking, sorry” But they ain’t gunna show all that, it doesn’t make good TV!!

“We all got along in the dressing rooms, had good vibes on our girlie dark day, bonding over silly men, did face masks and told each other our deepest darkest secrets.”

Isabel finished the comment by stressing that she is, in fact, a girl’s girl, and said the edit did her dirty.

“It’s really not that deep, the edit was f**ked and upset me but I’m not gunna sit here and justify myself, we know what happened as we were there and that’s all – be kind out there y’all.”

Big Brother producers are ‘steering the edit’ to save Holly from eviction

Big Brother Australia fans have turned on Holly Young after just a couple of weeks in the house, but rumour has it that producers are doing everything they can to keep her in the competition. While the show is streaming live, the episodes playing on TV are edited, and PEDESTRIAN.TV recently reported they’re trying to change the narrative.

As we all know, controversy on reality TV brings big ratings, and Big Brother Australia producers are apparently “working overtime” to keep Holly in the house.

“Holly is too valuable. They’re trying everything they can behind the scenes to steer the edit so she survives,” an insider claimed.

“If Holly goes, producers lose a third of their season arc. She’s the linchpin.”

To combat public opinion, sources claimed producers were trying to “soften her fall with the audience before the vote”, by focusing on different storylines and slyly improving her image.

Michael Downs saw Holly’s entertainment value

Michael Downs was the first Big Brother Australia housemate to be evicted, and he was given the opportunity to nominate somebody to be House Leader. Surprisingly, he nominated Holly, meaning she is safe from eviction this Sunday.

Michael works in publishing, and he tells Chattr he had similar thoughts to the producers on the show.

“If she was up for eviction, she would absolutely have been next to go, she’d probably be nominated with 40 points,” Michael spills. “I’ve only done that to annoy everybody… to piss everyone off.

“I didn’t want to choose someone boring, like, this is television, right? [So] coming from that kind of perspective in media as well, I wanted to [choose somebody who would] cause the most drama.”

While Michael and Holly have clashed on the show, and he recently called her the “most fake in the house”, he admits he is a fan of her in real life.

“I think Holly’s great,” Michael says. “She lives five minutes from me, so literally, we go to the same bars all the time. I’m surprised we’ve never met before.”

Only time will tell if the public opinion of Holly will change, but until then, we’ll be glued to our seats.

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Chrishell clears up pregnancy rumours by explaining queer slang: ‘Not meant to be deep’

Australia’s favourite couple, G Flip and Chrishell Stause, got more than they bargained for after accidentally causing a stir with a social media post. Chrishell shared a cute photo of herself with G Flip from the ARIA Awards on Instagram with a simple caption: “More photos to come! But it’s date night for mum and dad.”

Some of Chrishell’s fans quickly took to the comments and asked if the pair were expecting a baby. The Selling Sunset star posted a video in response to clear up the pregnancy rumours, as well as talking about G Flip using they/them pronouns.

“I might be, you know, maybe the only gay person some of you follow. And so I actually think that that’s lovely, and I don’t mind being that person… I wanna kind of be a bridge to the other side,” Chrishell said.

“I’m sorry for anyone that thought that was a baby announcement, that’s certainly not the way that we would have announced something like that,” she explained. “It’s kind of a playful slang that’s used… predominantly with like feminine, masculine couplings within the queer community.

“It’s really just a lighthearted thing, it’s not meant to be deep. I see it got into a sex and gender conversation and I know that pronouns have been a thing.”

Chrishell then explained why it’s important to use the correct pronouns for people by using her own name as an example. Her given name is Terrina, but when she was in university, she decided to start going by Chrishell. The reality TV star said she understands that it takes time for people to get used to changing how they refer to you, but it means “so much” to see her loved ones putting in the effort.

“I had one sister that specifically would for me, correct people… and sometimes I find I do that for G, because with pronouns sometimes, it’s really gender expression [which] is different to sex, which refers to organs you were born with,” she said. “Gender is more of how you want to express yourself through, you know, just gender norms that we learn about since the time we’re born.

“It’s more about your intention of wanting to respect other people and meet them where they are.”

Stars praise Chrishell’s educational post

Chrishell’s video hit one million views in less than two hours, and the comment section was flooded by her celebrity friends.

“Love that you lead with kindness, patience and understanding… we need more bridges in this world,” Colton Underwood wrote.

“This is how the conversations should go. Great job explaining from a place of love,” added Gretchen Rossi.

“You’re honestly such a perfect angel. So kind and amazing,” added Francesca Farago.

Chrishell’s fans also shared their thoughts, with one writing: “It’s so good to hear someone with an arguably fairly straight fanbase talk about this and make it so simple for anyone who doesn’t understand. I live in a West Hollywood bubble and I truly forget sometimes that I’m super lucky to be exposed to the most diversity on a daily basis. We love our unexpected queer icon!”

“Not Chrishell having to explain queer slang to the straights. What a time to be alive,” another joked.

“I love the way you took a moment to share and teach with grace Chrishell. As someone who has family and dear friends who are queer, I am protective and this makes my heart happy,” a third added.

And of course, G Flip commented and said they were “so lucky”. May this love find us one day!

Inside the friendship fallout between Big Brother’s Holly and MAFS’ Carina: ‘Betrayal’

Holly Young has been stirring tension inside the Big Brother Australia 2025 house, and it turns out she’s involved in drama outside of it too, as she’s apparently locked in a long-running feud with Married At First Sight’s (MAFS) Carina Mirabile.

News of a friendship between Holly and Carina emerged shortly after the season premiere, when old TikTok videos of the two reality stars surfaced, in which Carina called the Big Brother star her best friend.

However, Daily Mail Australia has reported that the pair — who met on a 2009 soccer trip in China — are no longer tight, and had a massive falling out after living together. The publication said that Holly abruptly moved out of their shared apartment after an argument, which completely “blindsided” Carina.

“It’s not a little tiff. Holly f**ked Carina over hard,” an insider told the publication.

“What happened between them is something Carina will never forgive.”

The source said that “Holly walked out and didn’t look back” following the disagreement. “After everything they shared, it felt like a betrayal.”

“She was rushing to find another roommate after it all went down, and now I think she’s living somewhere else.”

Big Brother’s Holly dated Luxe Listings Sydney reality TV star Gavin Rubinstein

Carina isn’t Holly’s only reality TV connection, as Daily Mail Australia revealed she once dated Luxe Listings Sydney star Gavin Rubinstein.

The pair shared a bunch of romantic snaps in mid-2024, but a source told the publication that their spark fizzled just a few months later.

“Things got complicated when they started travelling together,’ the insider said. ‘It was fast-paced from the beginning, but they were just in different places in life.”

Big Brother’s Michael reveals Holly’s true nature: ‘Most fake in the house’

Big Brother Australia’s first evictee Michael has gone rogue and shared his thoughts on housemate Holly. The 31-year-old model is currently having a fling with 21-year-old Colin in the house, but Michael tells Chattr he believes it’s all calculated.

“She’s in there completely playing the game to get social media followers,” Michael claims. “I wouldn’t say she’s a fake person, but she’s the most fake in the house. She’s the one who’s… not being authentic.”

The Big Brother Australia contestant says her “showmance” or “fauxmance” with Colin isn’t real, and dubs it “completely and utterly fake”.

“Holly even told me [that] ‘When we’re out of here, yeah, it’s going to be more of a mentor thing. You know, I can mentor Colin’,” Michael reveals. “She chose Colin because he’s the easiest to target. I guess he’s fallen the hardest.”

Michael doesn’t think that Bruce, Edward or Vincent would have fallen for Holly’s strategy, but Colin ate it up.

“[Colin] thinks this is real. I feel really sorry for him, and I said so on my way out. So I’m sure he’s seen that [and] hopefully had a bit of a reality check,” he adds.

Colin confronts Holly for not getting his name right

On his way out of the house, Michael shared a video where he called out Holly for faking her feelings for Colin. It appears to have made a bit of a splash, with Colin crying to Big Brother in the diary room after confronting Holly.

“My gut tells me that something’s just off because there’s so many people that have said the exact same thing,” Colin told Holly in the house.

“The way you never get my name right, the way that 90 per cent of the time we’re talking about you and not me, the way that I say that we don’t ever get anywhere into my personal story, it’s because of me… Learning my name would be a real cool first step.”

Holly has called him “Conor” multiple times, which is a little bit embarrassing.

Fans have flooded the Big Brother Australia comment sections in support of Colin, with one saying Holly is “using him”.

“Nahhh this is wrong, justice for Colin,” another added.

“She’s playing a game and a dangerous one that will only get him hurt, she doesn’t like him, she wants more screen time end of,” a third chimed in.

“Honestly feel it would’ve been worse for him if Holly was evicted as he would’ve been too blinded, didn’t take long for him to wake up though,” another wrote.

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MasterChef’s Andy Allen shares major baby news with sweet snaps

MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen has been open about his desire to start a family with his wife Alex, and his dream is coming true! The adorable couple shared a carousel of photos on Instagram to reveal they’re welcoming their first baby in April 2026.

In one of the photos, Andy gently holds his hand on Alex’s baby bump while she looks at him lovingly.

“We’ve been cooking up something pretty special… welcoming a little duckling in April!” the pair wrote in the caption.

After just 13 hours, the post had racked up over 31,000 likes, with many MasterChef Australia celebrities flooding the comments with congratulations.

“Oh you are [in] for such a treat,” winner Julie Goodwin gushed.

“Eeeeeeep this is amazing news. Congrats you guys!!!!!” fellow judge Poh Ling Yeow wrote.

“BEST NEWS! Congrats lovers,” added judge Sofia Levin.

“So so exciting! Congratulations,” the most recent winner Laura Sharrad commented.

In the comments, Alex told fans the pregnancy photoshoot wasn’t planned, and she sneakily tacked it on to the end of a photoshoot for Andy’s restaurant, Three Blue Ducks.

“Shout out to my girl Alexandra Drewniak,” Alex wrote. “May or may not have hijacked the end of a Ducks photoshoot… thank you.”

Andy also shared a snap of Alex with a pram on his Instagram story. “And so it begins,” he wrote.

Andy and Alex celebrate their three-year wedding anniversary

This baby news comes just a month after Alex and Andy celebrated their three-year wedding anniversary.

Alex shared a wedding video on Instagram in October, saying:
Three years [with] Andy and every year just gets better. We started a tradition where we go back and watch our wedding video each anniversary, and it just makes me the happiest person in the world reliving our celebration over and over.

“Such a special day with all our favourite people, literally THE BEST.”

The pair dated for four years before Andy popped the question in New Zealand. The couple tied the knot at Terrara House in NSW, before heading back to New Zealand for their honeymoon.

We’re so happy for these two lovebirds and can’t wait to meet the mini MasterChef Australia baby in 2026.

The Golden Bachelor’s Sunny responds to Bear’s broken engagement and previous relationship rumours

The Golden Bachelor Australia’s first leading man, Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, found himself in a bit of hot water during the airing of the show, when rumours started circling about two relationships he had after his wife passed away. While the show made it seem like he was only just ready to find love years after her passing, Woman’s Day claimed this wasn’t the case.

This didn’t come as a surprise to Sunny Long, who was already aware of his dating history. The Golden Bachelor Australia winner’s daughter, Chloe, confirmed on TikTok that “[Bear] told [Sunny] during filming”. In an interview with Carly Portch on Triple M, Sunny said she was actually pleased when she found out about Bear’s dating history.

“I think whenever he had a date during the journey, he made it very clear he had previous relationships, like six years and two years,” Sunny revealed.

“For me, I don’t really see that as a problem. Actually, I welcome that, because I was worried about whether he’s ready to move on and move forward to the next step, and that explains he’s capable of doing that, you know, make a commitment.”

Sunny said she was “glad” Bear had experienced relationships after his wife’s death and looked at it in a “glass half full” type of way.

Sunny’s daughter explains why Bear made the right choice

Bear and Sunny are still together seven months after filming on The Golden Bachelor Australia wrapped.

Sunny’s daughter Chloe admits that when she first met Bear, she was suspicious and had “mixed feelings” towards him. “He came across as super charming, kind, and grounded… honestly, almost too good to be true,” she tells Chattr. “And unfortunately, with men, when they seem too good to be true, they usually are.”

However, she quickly changed her tune. “After watching the show and seeing their dynamic on screen, I actually think they complement each other really well,” she says.

“It feels like they balance each other out in a really nice way. Her energy brings him out of his shell, and his calmness grounds her.”

Sunny, Bear and her two daughters, Penelope and Chloe, recently shared a cute TikTok where they confirmed the couple are still very much in love. Another successful Bachelor couple to add to the list!

Are The Golden Bachelor’s Bear and Sunny still together?

Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden has confessed his love to Sunny Long during The Golden Bachelor finale and gave her his final rose. But there’s one question everyone’s been dying to know: are they actually still together?

Throwback to last night, Janette and Sunny were the last two ladies standing, and if you’re across Reality TV like us, you would’ve known that because Janette was the first to step out of the car, there was a high chance that it was her heart that was broken at the stunning, and very windy, mountain backdrop in Cape Town. As per the usual Bachelor playbook, Bear broke up with Janette and told Sunny, who stepped out of the car next, that she was his final choice.

Despite the tears that came falling after getting in her getaway car, Janette said that she felt empowered after The Golden Bachelor experience.

“Even though it hasn’t worked out, I still have that sense of feeling empowered for showing my vulnerability,” she said.

Janette reveals that she hasn’t had any contact with Bear since South Africa

Janette

Janette hasn’t had any contact with Bear since they went their separate ways in South Africa — and honestly, fair enough.

But Sunny? Yep, she got a text immediately.

“I messaged Sunny because I was genuinely happy for her. I realised in the end she was in love with him, and I wished her well, and I wished them a happy life together and whatever comes from it,” Janette said.

And despite their… unique circumstances, the two actually still keep in loose contact with the occasional message here and there, or a quick catch-up when they bump into each other at events and also follow each other on social media.

Are Bear and Sunny still together?

In an exclusive first with Woman’s Day, Bear and Sunny revealed that their love is still going strong and they couldn’t be happier.

Since filming wrapped up, both Bear and Sunny have managed to keep their relationship under wraps, but Bear revealed that there had been a few secret getaways and rendezvous.

“We talk every day, mostly twice a day. There’s been a couple of very secret getaways, but they were few and far between,” Bear said.

Sunny added that it had been hard and they wanted to see each other, especially when episodes were airing.

“But we couldn’t, so we were just counting down the days.”

The pair have also taken to socials to share their love for each other after the finale aired.

Bear’s past romances spark drama ahead of finale

Bear and Sunny caught up with TV WEEK today to chat about their relationship, but before all that unfolded — Bear was already in the middle of a whirlwind of drama. The supposedly long-time single widower hadn’t exactly been flying solo: he’d been in two serious relationships (one for six years, another for two) and was even engaged at one point in the 14 years since losing his wife, Audrey.

Fans were shook. The show made it look like he hadn’t dated a day since Audrey passed, so finding out he’d actually had some major romances definitely didn’t go down quietly.

Still, Bear insists he never lied about his dating history while filming The Golden Bachelor, and honestly, you’ve got to admire him for keeping it real.

“From the beginning, I said that I wasn’t celibate for 14 years. I did have relationships,” Bear said.

You’d think with these rumours swirling around, it would be hard to keep a cool head, but Sunny said she was never worried about the headlines.

“Bear said, not just to me but also to my friends in the mansion, about his previous relationships,” she said. “We were all aware of that.”

What’s next for Bear and Sunny?

Bear gave Sunny a promise ring to wear on her wedding finger at the finale rose ceremony, but that doesn’t mean a wedding is on the cards just yet.

“We’re going to let things happen organically,” Bear said.

“Right now, the priority is bringing our two families together.”

Who has left MKR 2025?

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 has almost come to the end, and we finally have our grand finalists. Maria and Bailey will be going head-to-head with Justin and Will, but only one team will be able to take away the $100,000 prize.

Throughout the competition so far, each of the teams have been scored by both their fellow competitors, as well as judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge, and those scores determined their place on the MKR leaderboard.

However, during the two semi-finals, Manu and Colin decided who would make it through to the grand final. When the final pair were eliminated from the most recent semi-final, there were tears galore.

So, who has been eliminated from MKR so far? Read on to find out!

Who was eliminated from My Kitchen Rules 2025?

Maria and Bailey

Maria and Bailey face off against Justin and Will in the MKR 2025 grand finale. While the boss’s friends impressed judges Colin and Manu with their dishes and received a score of 72 out of 100, Justin and Will beat them by just one point.

“We knew we were coming up against tough competition, so to be able to do what we did today is truly incredible,” Bailey said after discovering they’d come runners up.

Lol and Lil

Lol and Lil were eliminated from MKR during the second semi-final. For the main, they served up a sous vide lobster, which Colin and Manu said was inconsistent and undercooked. While they redeemed themselves with their berry pannacotta and vanilla creme tart, it wasn’t enough to get them over the line.

Colin and Manu scored Maria and Bailey’s dishes higher, sending them to the grand final and eliminating the girls from the competition.

“To go home then, it’s so sad. We’re so proud of ourselves to get to that point, but also it’s so disappointing to go home with one cook away from winning the title of My Kitchen Rules,” Lil told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

Danielle and Marko

Danielle and Marko on MKR
Danielle and Marko. Image: Seven.

Best mates Justin and Will clinched the first spot in the MKR Grand Final after knocking out Danielle and Marko in the first semi.

Justin and Will served up a Sri Lankan Tripe Curry with Carrot Sambal and Paratha for the main, and a Chocolate Soufflé with Chocolate Ice Cream and Caramel Whisky Sauce for dessert. Danielle and Marko opted for an Asian-inspired main course of Miso Glazed Salmon with Soba Noodles and a Smashed Cucumber Salad, and a Pandan Meringue with Lemon Curd and Raspberry Sorbet.

It was a close battle between the two teams, but Manu and Colin were ultimately impressed with the technical skills used in both of Justin’s and Will’s dishes, and they were sent through to the grand final.

Mark and Tan

MKR 2025's Mark and Tan

Mark and Tan were eliminated from My Kitchen Rules during the final Ultimate Instant Restaurant.

While they got off to a strong start with their entree of a tuna tartare and pork and prawn dumplings, their main left both the judges and fellow contestants unimpressed because of the fat left on the steak that wasn’t rendered.

Their dessert went even worse, with a thick crust on the chocolate tart and a semi-raw, bitter orange steamed pudding.

Overall, they scored 56 out of 100, which put them at the bottom of the leaderboard, and they were eliminated.

Michael and Rieli

Michael and Rieli

Michael and Rielli were sent home from the competition after cooking in an elimination round against Marko and Danielle.

Both couples earned an average score of 7 from their teammates and from Manu, leaving Colin’s score to decide their fate. In the end, Marko and Danielle edged ahead with an 8 from Colin, while Michael and Rielli received another 7, ending their journey in the competition.

Anne and Maree

Anne and Maree.
Anne and Maree. Image: Seven.

Anne and Maree competed against Lol and Lil in the elimination round, losing out to them by just two points.

The two teams were tasked with cooking a main and a dessert. Lol and Lil opted for a classic Sunday roast featuring Roast Chicken, Vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy and a  Profiterole tower. Anne and Maree served up a traditional Greek feast of Lamb shoulder, Lemon potatoes, Dolmades, Greek salad and Tzatziki and  Greek Ekmek Kataifi for dessert.

While Manu and Colin loved their main, Manu noted the dessert base was “a little too thick and not crispy”. The mother-daughter duo got a score of 19 out of 30, and Lol and Lil triumphed with 21.

“I never thought I’d get here, to be honest. I’m so proud,” Maree said of their elimination, adding, “We are going to go home with our heads held high. The fact that we even got chosen to do this – we are winners.”

Amy and Lara

Amy and Laura on MKR. Image: Seven.

Amy and Lara were the second team eliminated from the competition after winding up at the bottom of the MKR leaderboard in round two with a score of 58.

Throughout the competition, they spoke proudly about their cooking skills, and while they did well on their entree, their main meal of surf and turf with an eye fillet, lobster and truffle mash really let them down, receiving a score of 2 and 3 from Manu and Colin.

“This is gobsmacking, we’re shocked,” Amy said upon finding out they were eliminated. “We’re mortified, embarrassed, gutted.”

Mel and Jactinta

Mel and Jacinta at their first (and only) Instant Restaurant. Image: Seven.

Jacinta and Mel were the final team to host their Instant Restaurant on MKR 2025. To stay in the game, all they needed to do was score higher than Lol and Lil’s total of 64 out of 110.

Unfortunately for the feisty cousins, they fell well below that mark, receiving a total of 50 points.

Their entrée of Bang Bang Cauliflower with Spiced Cashew Sauce and Pickled Cucumber was the highlight of the night, with both judges praising the flavour combination.

The main — Braised Beef with Black Rice, Lime and Corn Salad, and Coconut Roti — fared worse. Manu remarked that some pieces of beef were “really dry,” while Colin noted the top was burnt.

Dessert proved to be their weakest course. The Tofu Mocha Mousse with Coffee Liqueur and Coconut Sauce earned just a three from each judge, with Colin criticising its brick-like texture and quipping, “You should not be able to stand a spoon in mousse.”

Their score of 50 sent them to the bottom of the MKR leaderboard, sealing their fate and seeing them eliminated from the competition.

Justin and Will found out they won MKR at a watch party with Maria and Bailey last night

Justin and Will were crowned the winners of My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 after a nail-biting finale against Maria and Bailey, which saw them win by just one point.

The best friends from NSW told Chattr that they watched the MKR finale at a pub with most of the cast.

“Most of the contestants could make it. Last night, we had a most party down at the Quest in Wooloware with our friends and family. So it was amazing,” Will said, adding that Bailey, Maria, Marko, Danielle, Lol and Lil were all there.

Justin and Will explained that there were alternate endings filmed, one which showed them winning, and another that showed Maria and Bailey winning, which was done so that the winner didn’t get leaked ahead of the finale. But, that meant the men only found out that they won when the rest of Australia did.

“Gosh, that was a great moment,” Will told Chattr about finding out that they’d officially been crowned the winners.

However, the alternate endings meant that Maria and Bailey found out that they’d lost at the same time, while they were next to Justin and Will, who were celebrating. However, Justin said they were “good sports” about it.

“They were so stoked for us… Maybe today, they’re probably a little bit different,” Justin laughed. “They were really stoked. And whatever way I went last night, it would have been a celebration anyway.”

What will Justin and Will spend their prize money on?

Along with bragging rights, Justin and Will scored $100,000 prize money for winning MKR 2025.

Will told Chattr that they’ll be taking a holiday with their family to celebrate, and the rest of the money will go towards buying gifts and paying some bills.

“[We’ll spend the prize money on] a holiday, set up for kids, a couple of presents for Christmas, and pay some bills,” he said.

“We’ve got a couple of weeks up on the Goldie and Byron at Christmas and New Year’s. So it will be a good couple of weeks away.”

While the pair don’t have any immediate plans to start a career in the food space, they said it’s something they’re interested in.

“We’re both excited to explore this space,” Justin said. “So we’re gonna see where the road leads us.”

Congratulations to Will and Justin for winning MKR 2025!

Michael reveals he was cast on Big Brother after applying for MAFS

Big Brother’s most controversial housemate, Michael Downs, became the first to be evicted in last night’s episode. But it turns out he had another reality TV opportunity lined up — he was reportedly in talks to join MAFS 2026 as an intruder.

According to Daily Mail Australia, the 47-year-old was set to be cast on the series. However, producers ultimately backed out after Michael refused to compromise, and they weren’t willing to manufacture an incompatible match purely for drama. In the end, they pulled the pin and told him they’d circle back for a another suitable series.

However, in an exclusive interview with Chattr he clarified that he never officially made it on the season.

“I never really got onto MAFS. You know, I kind of got through that process, and then that rolled into, yeah, going in and chatting to producers and auditioning for Big Brother, which I thought was a much better fit for me.”

Michael told Chattr that MAFS never felt right for him. As a dad of three, the idea of being pushed into an instant relationship didn’t sit well, and Big Brother felt like a much more natural fit.

“You know, having three kids on the outside, in the outside, I kind of was always worried about being thrown into bed with some woman I didn’t know, and how that looks when you got young kids. So Big Brother was a much, much better fit for me. So it all worked out in the end for the best.”

Was Michael concerned about jeopardising his career by going on Big Brother

Michael, CEO of Nuclear Media — the publishing company behind titles like the recently republished FHM Magazine, Women’s Fitness, and It Girl — said he was never worried about how he’d be perceived in the Big Brother house or whether it might impact his career.

“In a word, no. I never feel it. I never, ever feel any need to filter anything I say, You know what? When I was 19, maybe even 29 I felt those needs. At 49 I am who I am. I’m not going to change. And everybody knows who I am.”

While Michael wasn’t concerned, he told Chattr his family certainly was.

“My friends and family, they were all concerned. Well, the few I could tell, especially my oldest daughter, was concerned when I was, you know, cast on Big Brother, but mate, I think I was a pretty tame version of my real self in there.

Michael has already rubbed many viewers and fellow contestants the wrong way in just his first week in the Big Brother house.

In Tuesday’s episode, a discussion between Michael, Bruce, and Mia about whether one parent should take on childbearing responsibilities while the other worked quickly escalated into a broader debate about gender roles. Mia tried to help both men understand that gender inequality still exists in 2025, however the boys wouldn’t budge on their views.

Michael, Bruce and Mia have a discussion

“I don’t have a whole lot of conviction in what I say. A lot of what I say is just to shit stir at the end of that, even with people like Mia or whatever, we all got along so well.

I don’t know how it played out to the outside world, but we were actually really close and good buddies in there. You know, as soon as those conversations ended.”

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Big Brother’s Michael explains why he’s ‘certainly not a feminist’

One of the biggest talking points of Big Brother so far was when Bruce and Michael stated that women belong at home with the children, while men should be the sole breadwinners.

After Michael was eliminated on Sunday night, he doubled down on that opinion in an interview with Chattr, explaining that he doesn’t identify as a feminist and prefers traditional gender roles.

“Would I describe myself as a feminist? Even my mother’s not a feminist.. Absolutely, I’m not a feminist,” he said.

As most people (should) know, a feminist is anyone who believes women should have the same rights, freedoms and opportunities as men. However, despite being a father of daughters, Michael doesn’t consider himself a feminist and champions the traditional nuclear family.

“I do love women. I’ve got two sisters, two daughters, but I’m certainly not a feminist, no, and it also hasn’t changed my opinion on gender roles,” the Big Brother evictee said.

“I was raised in a family where my dad went to work, and my mum had dinner on the table. She did a bit of part time work too, but it works like the Japanese bullet train or a Swiss watch, my family, [they have been] been married for 60 years, and I think the way the world is these days, with Tinder and everything else, and divorce rates skyrocketing, I think the way things used to be was a whole lot better than they are now.”

Michael thinks the shift away from traditional family roles is a negative

Recent years have seen a shift in more women remaining in the workforce after having children. In 2011, Australia introduced the national paid parental leave scheme, which allowed eligible working fathers to take paid leave.

However, Michael told Chattr that he doesn’t think the move away from a traditional family structure — where women stayed home and men worked — has been a good thing.

“I am set in my ways,” he said. “Literally, there’s nothing you could say that would change my opinion that the traditional family was the greatest way to do things, but I realise, you know, families come in all shapes and sizes, but for me, it’s just the world is far worse now than it was.”

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Who left the Golden Bachelor? We’re keeping track so you don’t have to

The Golden Bachelor Australia’s first-ever season on Channel Nine has wrapped up, with Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden’s journey to finding love in the golden age is complete, and Bear has given the final rose.

Bear, a widower, tragically lost his first wife, Audrey, 14 years ago, after she was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive malignant brain tumour in 2009.

After Audrey passed in 2011, Bear focused on raising their three sons, but as he became an empty-nester, he was ready to open his heart again to the possibility of love.

With 20 ladies vying for his affections, ranging in ages from 51 to 66, Bear had his work cut out for him as he wined, dined, and got to know the unique women, before hopefully getting his happily ever after and sailing off into the sunset.

So, who won the Bears’ hearts? Let’s find out!

Who won Bear’s heart?

In a breathtaking, and very windy, spot overlooking the Cape Town mountains, Bear declared his love for the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

The woman who captured Bear’s heart? The one and only Sunny.

“You amaze me with your resilience and your courage; you blow me away. You’ve overcome so much and are still so loving and full of life,” he said.

“When I think about the future, the life I want to live, how I want to spend the rest of my days, I can’t imagine doing it without you,” he continued.

“I feel so lucky that I have found you, I love you, he said.”

Sunny responded to Bear with a kiss and a sweet little leg pop.

“Dark days are gone, and bright days are here because of you,” she said.

“My heart is full of joy and happiness and love for you, and I’m looking forward to the journey with you in life.”

Who was the runner-up on The Golden Bachelor 2025?

Janette was left heartbroken. Image: Nine

This meant Janette was left absolutely heartbroken as the runner-up — and honestly, our hearts broke for her the moment she got into the car.

“You deserve a love worth fighting for, but I’m so sorry… It’s not with me,” Bear told her.

Janette held her composure, replying, “I’m fine. I read your eyes the minute I walked up here.”

In a tense exchange, Bear insisted he truly cared for her.

“I really do care for you,” he said.

As soon as she stepped into the getaway car, her tears finally came, telling producers that she “felt like a fool” and thought that she was Bear’s final pick.

Here’s who has left The Golden Bachelor Australia 2025

Episode 8 – Kim

The Golden Bachelor 2025 Kim eliminated
Kim was left heartbroken. Image: Nine

In a surprise twist, Bear chose Sunny and Janette as his final two ladies, leaving Kim without a rose. It was brutal, considering Bear and Kim appeared to connect during a visit to her hometown, where she told the Golden Bachelor she was falling for him.

As Kim hugged Bear goodbye, her racing heartbeat could be heard on Bear’s lapel mic, which made her departure even sadder. “I really wanted to have my name called out, I really wanted this to go further, and I just feel really sad,” Kim told producers. “I’m ready to fall in love. I’m really ready to start my life… and he doesn’t want to do that with me, and that’s okay.”

Episode 7 – Gera and Jan

Jan and Gera on The Golden Bachelor
Jan and Gera were kicked out before hometowns. Image: Nine

Well, damn. Early frontrunner Jan and the woman we actually predicted to win was sent home before hometowns, alongside Gera, proving you definitely can’t pick what the hell is going to happen this series!

Meanwhile, things heated up between Bear and Janette on a steamy date, while Sunny also wasn’t shy in coming forward about her feelings for Bear growing alongside her desire.

“I’m actually very sexually active,” Sunny told Bear, before she went on to express that she was falling for him and as an added extra, played him a song on the piano.

Might be time to wrap this thing up, folks and crown Sunny the winner.

Episode 6, part two: Catherine and Lauren

Katherine and Lauren on The Golden Bachelor
Lauren and Catherine missed out on the top five. Image: Nine

In the second part of episode six, Kim and Bear grew their connection on a solo date, while things got emotional on the group date as Bear surprised the ladies with video messages from their loved ones back home.

Lauren and Catherine narrowly missed out on Bear’s top five, and were the next two to leave the mansion after Bear said goodbye to, well, half the cast.

Episode 6, part one: Pippa, Bianca, Elizete, Shamse

Picking up where we left off after Terri’s shock goodbye to Bear, our Golden Bachie also bid farewell to Elizete, Bianca, Pippa, and Shamse.

Things are getting brutal around here!

Episode 5 – Terri

Teri and Bear on Golden Bachelor
Terri left Bear and the ladies shocked after she rejected his rose. Image: Nine

Bear surprised the ladies with a group camping trip, while Sunny nabbed the solo date with the golden Bachie. Sparks flew between the pair as they went for a boat ride along the Hawkesbury, shucking oysters and getting to know each other on a deeper level. Bear even gifted Sunny with a pearl necklace!

Not that kind, get your head out of the gutter.

However, in a shocking rose ceremony, Bear decided to bid farewell to five ladies – but there was one who chose not to accept her rose. We said a sad goodbye to Terri, who rejected Bear’s rose, choosing not to compete and risk being hurt.

So who else will we farewell? Come back here tomorrow morning and we’ll spill all.

Episode 4 – Laura and Katrina

Golden Bachelor's Laura and Katrina
Laura and Katrina faced the double elimination with poise. Image: Nine

Episode four saw Bear take Terri on a romantic date to Luna Park, with sparks flying between the pair as they recaptured their childhood on rides. Terri opened up to Bear about her previous marriage ending after her husband cheated on her, receiving a rose and a kiss from the Bachie.

The group date saw all the ladies participate in a charity gala for the Cancer Council, with many Channel Nine stars showing up to support a good cause. Half the group were given the task of raising funds, while the other half had to put on performances to the star-studded crowd.

Bear had the chance to meet Bachie alum Abbie Chatfield, who wasn’t sold he’d be the kind of person that’d participate in Christmas karaoke, and later on it was Abbie’s mum, Laura, who was left without a rose, as well as Katrina.

Episode 3 – Hamidah

During episode three, Bear headed off on a horse-riding group date with some of the Ladies. Bianca struggled with her horse, but during a one-on-one with Bear, she dropped her joker facade and had an emotional conversation, which saw her walk away with a rose.

Once the cocktail party rolled around, it was Hamidah who was sadly sent home. However, she left the mansion with a smile on her face and sashayed out the door.

Episode 2 – Linda and Nicolette

Episode two saw Bear take Janette on a beautiful sailing date and gifting her with a rose, while also partaking in the infamous photo shoot group date.

Themed on iconic movies, while some ladies (ahem, Catherine) basked in their chance to get close to Daddy Bear, things got emotional for Shamse, who donned a wedding dress for a Muriel’s Wedding-themed shoot.

Reflecting on losing her husband less than two years ago, Shamse left the shoot in tears, as both she and Bear struggled with the thoughts of their previous partners.

“I am grieving a lot of people, so maybe that’s what’s happening right now. I don’t know,” Shamse told Sam Armytage.

At the cocktail party after, Bear checked in on Shamse, giving her a rose and keeping her safe for another week.

It was Nicolette and Linda who left roseless, with Nicolette disappointed that she didn’t get much time with Bear in the photo shoot due to Catherine taking centre stage, and Linda being someone who was definitely on the show at some stage.

Episode 1 — Jane, Shana and Angela

God, we needed the tissues in episode one and not because we were sad to say goodbye to three women we barely knew. No offence to them.

The show opened with Bear sharing the story of losing his one true love, Audrey, describing her cancer journey with tears in his eyes as he looked back on old photos.

While he described her as “one in six billion” he then spoke of having his three sons’ support as he looks forward to “possibly finding love again”. “I’ve had the love of my life and lost her, and I think I’m ready to move on and find a lasting relationship,” Bear told host Sam Armytage, admitting that for a long time he didn’t think he’d find love again.

As he met the 20 vibrant women seeking his affections, there were a few standout bonding moments: first cab off the rank, Pilates guru Janette caught his attention, as did Terri and Catherine, who even nabbed a cheeky little kiss (and the sexy intro music) after winning an arm-wrestle.

Then there was Jan, who got the wifey music edit as she sauntered in with a welcome drink.

However, not all romances end in a fairytale and we had to bid farewell to three ladies: Jane, Sharna, and Angela.

Bye! We barely knew ye.

The Golden Bachelor airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
