Gogglebox Australia’s Kate and Matt Dalton on staying positive on bad filming days: “It is hard”

Kate and Matt Dalton have had the nation in stitches for the last eight years of Gogglebox Australia, and they’re about to do it again for Season 20.

However, having the reputation of being one of the funniest families on Australian TV comes with the pressure to turn on the cheer, even on an off day.

During an interview with Chattr, Kate reflected on a particular instance when she ended up in the hospital after filming an episode when she wasn’t feeling well.

“It is hard sometimes,” Kate reflected to Chattr. “I went through a stage of vertigo once when we were filming, and I’d had the vertigo in the morning, and I knew I was unwell.”

“We started watching Dr Pimple Popper, and I ended up having vertigo after that, and later, after the crew left, I ended up in the hospital.”

Kate added that she, Matt, and their daughters Holly and Millie Dalton all live everyday lives outside of filming Gogglebox Australia, and said that it’s sometimes hard to separate the show from reality.

“If it’s really hot or intense or something, and you’re not feeling well, it can be exacerbated when you’re on the couch,” she explained.

“Any feeling that you have before you come to the couch can be magnified. If you’re feeling upset, that can be magnified, or if you’re feeling exuberantly happy, that will come out as well through your filming.”

Kate and Matt Dalton would love a Gogglebox Australia Uncut spinoff

Gogglebox Australia Season 20 is dropping on February 20, and while Kate and Matt told Chattr they’re looking forward to seeing what parts of their TV commentary made the cut, they’ve got his own idea for a spin-off.

“I think there’s room for maybe a Gogglebox Bloopers or a Gogglebox Uncut,” Kate suggested.

Matt added that Gogglebox Bloopers “would be the greatest TV show”.

“95% of what we say doesn’t make it on the TV,” he explained, adding that the cast watches full episodes of shows, and only parts of their commentary make it to the final edited version.

“The guys that edit it are very smart, and they grab a line and go with it, but there’s so much stuff that doesn’t get on.

“Half the time, I can’t remember what we watched the night before because you join the show, and they’re not all memorable. You just say what you think at the time. It’s about being in the present.”

Whether it’s Gogglebox Bloopers or Gogglebox Uncut, we’ll take it — the more Gogglebox Australia, the better, we say.

Gogglebox Australia season 20 premieres on February 20 at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MAFS’ Adrian is now in a beef with *checks notes* Abbie Chatfield

Sit down, grab some Panadol, and wrap yourself in your favourite comfort blanket because Adrian Araouzou from Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 is once again embroiled in some drama, and he’s taking it off-screen this time.

If you had “MAFS‘ Adrian gets into a TikTok war with Abbie Chatfield” on your 2025 Bingo card, then congrats: that’s exactly what’s happening right now after Abbie interviewed Geneva Drake, a woman who was dating Adrian and photographed looking cosy with him at the end of January.

MAFS’ Adrian V Abbie: WTF is going on?

After Abbie’s interview with Geneva, where Geneva revealed that Adrian had started his own MAFS fan page for himself (more on that below), Adrian hit back on his joint TikTok with his twin brother James, labelling Geneva as a “weekender”.

When Abbie commented on Adrian’s video in defence of Geneva, saying, “She was not a one night thing. We have texts over months. He’s now trying to silence her further,” Adrian responded saying, “Chatting to someone online is not an ex. I met her once. Hung out on a weekend. Never seen her again. Fact check things, babe xx”.

Adrian's ex-girlfriend Geneva appeared on Abbie Chatfield's podcast.

He then went on to leave another comment, saying, “And if ‘talking’ online to girl for a few weeks is an ex., then damn, there’s plenty more where that came from. The ignorance is real. P.s we love you Abbie say hi to your gf for us.”

In his own TikTok, Adrian also accused Abbie of using him for “clicks” for her successful podcast It’s A Lot.

“Abbie, I thought I was my biggest fan but clearly it’s you,” Adrian says. “The only embarrassing thing about that whole podcast was calling that weekender my ex. And to top it all off, I even gave you a repost so you can get some more likes and comments, you are welcome.”

At the time of publishing, Adrian’s TikTok had nearly 14k views, while Abbie’s first TikTok with Geneva was sitting at over 300k views.

What did Adrian’s ex say about their relationship?

Geneva said Adrian has fooled numerous women, including his ex and his current MAFS wife Awhina Rutene, while also accusing him of “trying to silence” her.

“I am a little bit worried about how he may retaliate about me speaking out,” Geneva said. “I refuse to be silenced like he’s tried to do.”

Adrian then allegedly told Geneva to put her social media accounts on private, which Geneva called her “last straw”.

Geneva also highlighted the moment she realised Adrian had made his own MAFS fan page, saying she had sent him a TikTok and on her notifications it came up as “@adrianmafsfanpage has viewed the TikTok”.

When Geneva asked him about it, she expected him to deny it but he doubled down saying “[It] gets me more views” before saying Adrian was using it to comment on his own TikToks that he and James are creating.

MAFS’ Jacqui continues to go rogue, leaks her texts to Jeff

This year’s season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) is one of those ones where just as much drama happens off-screen as it does on-screen, and one of the people front and centre of it all is Jacqui Burfoot.

In last night’s episode, Jacqui had an epic meltdown at the intruder wedding after getting into another argument with her husband Ryan Donnelly. She also found herself in conflict with Rhi Disljenkovic after she messaged Rhi’s husband Jeff Gobbels, behind her back, wanting to catch up with him alone without Rhi present.

Now Jacqui has taken to her business Instagram page to leak the texts she and Jeff exchanged.

Rhi speaks out on Jacqui texting Jeff behind her back: “Really odd”

While Ryan seemed suspicious of Jacqui’s motives for messaging Jeff, Rhi previously told Chattr she never assumed Jacqui was making a romantic play for Jeff – she was just confused as to why Jacqui wanted to meet up with him alone.

“I didn’t think there’d be a cheating scandal or anything, but it was her inconsistency. It just made me realise it was all pretty left of centre. The girl code thing to do would be to chat with me, and because she didn’t want me there, I just found it really odd,” Rhi said.

MAFS’ Jacqui leaks texts with Jeff Gobbels: “More a man-man thing”

Jacqui has uploaded her message exchange with Jeff to Instagram, with the two initially talking about a Stax event the cast were invited to.

Jacqui then texted Jeff saying she was struggling and in need of “off-camera” help, with Jeff replying, “Do you wanna quickly come chat to me and Rhi? Or just me?”

Jacqui replied, “I’m happy to chat to both of you, but it would be safer to keep it as just you,” citing her issues with Ryan as more of a “man-man” thing. She then asked if they can do a “friendly 1:1”, saying she didn’t want to influence Rhi’s opinion of Ryan and she’d rather keep it “off-camera”.

If you live for the drama, MAFS’ Jacqui is going rogue on Instagram and leaking her texts. Image: Instagram.com

Jeff suggested that they get the house AP (associate producer) Kate involved, saying she could “sit there and listen” and that he’d be the one to talk to Jacqui. Jacqui then declined, saying she’d “go external”. Jeff replied, “Come to my room quickly, I’ll do it,” noting that Rhi would go to the “house AP room”. Jacqui stated on the Instagram story that Rhi stayed for the chat, and all three of them got “caught” by the house AP.

Speaking with Chattr, Rhi said the whole cast was confused by the relationship dynamic between Jacqui and Ryan.

“They are quite flip-floppy,” she said. “You’re forever confused trying to understand what’s going on; one minute they’re complaining about each other, then the next they’re hugging. Their relationship confused us all, all the time.”

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Below Deck Down Under alcohol limits enforced: Captain Jason reveals the new policy for Season 3

The Below Deck Down Under blacked-out boozy crew nights may be a thing of the past, with Captain Jason Chambers confirming to Chattr that he made a new alcohol policy for Season 3.

Past seasons of Below Deck have seen cast nights where Boson Joao Franco has shattered a wine glass in one hand, Chef Rachel Hargrove jumped on stage with a live band and Deckie Ashton Pienaar punched a window after a fight with Chief Stew Kate Chastain.

Perhaps the most uncomfortable alcohol-induced encounter took place on Below Deck Down Under Season 2 when Luke Jones, who had been drinking, entered crewmate Margot Sisson’s room naked while she was asleep. He was immediately fired for sexual misconduct after Captain Jason found out what happened.

Following on from the disturbing incident, Captain Jason has implemented new rules to ensure that the Below Deck Down Under Season 3 cast limits their drinking this season.

What are the alcohol rules on Below Deck Down Under Season 3?

Captain Jason told Chattr that a drink limit was enforced for Season 3, as well as additional measures to reduce the crew’s inebriation, which ended up increasing the number of scenes production could use in the final edit.

“This season, they’re only having one drink before they go out, and then when they’re out, they have to pay for their own drinks, and they have to have a water between drinks.”

“We saw a huge difference, a lot more content, people were a lot more aware of their surroundings and a lot more respectful,” he added.

While alcohol-fueled crew nights out often spark drama between the crew —an essential ingredient for almost any spicy reality TV episode, Captain Jason reassured Chattr that the scandals are still there, despite the tightened alcohol rules.

“Look, they’re adults,” he said. “They’ve always been able to buy their own drinks. We’re not there to tell them.

“But, the policy I actually asked them to do was to have water between each drink. And they did that, and you’ll see that the behaviour was a lot different, but the drama was still there.”

Jason really is the people’s captain.

“Forever confused”: MAFS’ Rhi has addressed her fight with Jacqui

There’s no denying that Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 delivered us another absolutely shambolic episode last night. Jacqui Burfoot used the intruder wedding to have a red-hot crack at husband Ryan Donnelly before she was confronted by fellow bride Rhi Disljenkovic about messaging Rhi’s husband Jeff Gobbels behind her back.

Speaking with Chattr, Rhi clarified the chaotic scenes, confirming that Jacqui had apologised to her. However, we’ll have to wait and see how it unfolds.

“There is an apology which is good, but you have to keep watching in regards to what happens,” Rhi teased. “I can’t give away too much.”

MAFS’ Rhi speaks out on chaotic intruder wedding moment with Jacqui

While the MAFS participants were invited to celebrate the wedding of Teejay Halkias and Bethy Kelly, things really kicked off at the reception, with Jacqui and Ryan once again taking centre stage with their tumultuous relationship.

The basic rundown is before the wedding Jacqui was busy working on a rap sheet of all of Ryan’s wrongdoings. Then, at the wedding, Jacqui was triggered by how lovely Teejay’s vows were and wanted Ryan to take note, before getting upset at the dinner that Ryan dropped her on their wedding day.

Prior to this, we learned that Jacqui had messaged Jeff on the sly, wanting to catch up without Rhi, and he and Rhi had a discussion about it before the wedding. After Jacqui started to derail at the wedding, Rhi eventually confronted her about messaging Jeff behind her back, with Rhi telling Chattr the whole situation ultimately left her feeling confused.

“Jeff did reply to her and I did say catch up with her and see if she’s OK,” Rhi explained. “I thought it was really weird she’s messaging and as much as I wasn’t impressed with it, I thought maybe she’s going through a rough time.

“But then obviously seeing her at the wedding, I just thought, oh gosh… not that her intentions weren’t pure, I didn’t think there’d be a cheating scandal or anything, but it was her inconsistency it just made me realise it was all pretty left of centre. The girl code thing to do would be to have a chat with me and the fact she didn’t want me there, I just found it really odd for her to say, ‘can it be alone’.”

On confronting Jacqui, Rhi said it was something quite out of her comfort zone. “I think you could see my chest get redder and I started to develop a rash,” she laughed. “That was fun. But when you do see repeated behaviour from someone – at the start, you’re getting to know people and see what they’re like and you don’t want to say anything too soon – but once you’ve seen repeated behaviour, you think, stuff it, I’m just going to say how I feel.”

Rhi on Jacqui and Ryan’s confusing relationship dynamic

It’s not news by now that Jacqui and Ryan’s relationship has left MAFS fans wildly confused, and Rhi said the vibe was similar when they were filming the show.

MAFS' Ryan and Jacqui in a heated discussion at the intruder wedding

“They are quite flip-floppy,” she said. “You’re forever confused trying to understand what’s going on; one minute they’re complaining about each other, then the next they’re hugging. Their relationship confused us all, all the time. Jamie also mentioned it, like ‘only Jacqui and Ryan understand each other because no one else does,’ and I second that.”

Rhi spills on whether there’s a cast divide this season

After a bunch of the girls caught up for a Valentine’s Day lunch last weekend, there were a few notable absences, with Sierah Swepstone, Morena Farina, and Jacqui nowhere to be seen.

“There is a cast divide, for sure,” Rhi said. “But also, some people are just closer than others. It started off for my birthday, and Jamie already lives here [Melbourne], but the others flew down for my birthday, and it was Jamie’s birthday the week before, so she was like, ‘Let’s do a birthday for you and me!’ But look, it’s not a huge cast divide, but the girls that were there [at the lunch] are just a bit closer.”

MAFS 2025 Episode 14 Recap: Jacqui makes Teejay and Beth’s wedding about her

If you haven’t heard the rumours, Jacqui and Ryan are 100% actors. At least I hope they are. If that is real-life behaviour, we all need to give ourselves more praise. Let’s recap, shall we?

We kick off Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 Episode 14 with Jacqui crying again, even though it is Ryan who should be weeping. His wife has written a list of all the ways he has failed her, which is not an easy thing for a Warrior Princess to hear.

Jacqui is upset in her MAFS apartment.

Jacqui has also contacted Jeff for some advice, but only if his wife, Rhi, doesn’t attend.

Rhi and Jeff discuss Jacqui's message on the couch at their MAFS apartment.

Teejay and Beth are our first MAFS intruders

Sadly, they have a MAFS 2025 wedding to attend first — Teejay the “Grindian” (Greek Indian) and Beth the Britstralian (Brit living in Australia).

Teejay mentions other arranged marriages in his family to justify the fact that he’s on reality TV again, and Beth declares her status as a relationship virgin.

They are a good fit for no other reason than both being fine to look at.

Jacqui loses her shit

Anyway, Jacqui makes Ryan’s life a living hell at this wedding, telling everyone how she was crying earlier.

Tears = serious, apparently.

Guys I was crying and that’s really serious and sad!! Image: Nine.

“You cry when there’s not a full-length mirror in the room,” Rhi bites. While I appreciate the burn, I, too, hate an absent full-length mirror when it’s needed. Which is a regular occurrence in hotel rooms (why).

Side note: Jeff looks daddy with the facial hair, hey?

Anyway, Rhi Weiners has cracked. She tells the table about the message Jacqui sent her husband, probably because their storyline has been wildly irrelevant up until now.

Jacqui and Rhi argue over text messages to Jeff during a MAFS episode.
We promise we’re interesting!! Image: Nine.

You wouldn’t believe it, but Jacqui starts crying, bringing her MAFS 2025 tear tally to 15,327.

Jacqui cries even more when Ryan admits he doesn’t like her, forcing him to hug her while she lightly convulsed. I think she also cupped the air around his face to smell it?

Screw consent, hug me! Image: Nine.

It was all very odd, and her mascara found a new home on her upper cheek.

A version of this MAFS 2025 recap initially appeared on the Talking Schmidt Substack and has been reproduced here with permission.

MAFS’ Veronica Cloherty: Meet (yet another) actor joining the 2025 intruders

The Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 intruder brides and grooms have landed. Among them is Veronica Cloherty, an actress, model, and personal trainer who’s already got tongues wagging, and not for the best reasons.

Here’s everything we know so far.

Veronica Cloherty. Image: Instagram.

Who is MAFS’ Veronica Cloherty?

Veronica, 32, hails from Sydney and joins a long list of MAFS contestants this year with performance backgrounds. She’s in good company with Ryan Donnelly, Jeff Gobbels, and Carina Mirabile, plus reality TV alumni Paul Antoine (The Real Love Boat) and Sierah Swepstone (The Bachelor).

After striking out in the local dating scene, she’s putting her faith in the MAFS Experts to match her with someone who can bring joy and laughter into her life.

The former Miss Universe Australia finalist describes herself as confident and driven, always striving for self-improvement.

Having faced heartbreak in the past, Veronica says she’s serious about settling down and starting a family, so long as her partner has manners and empathy (her two biggest red flags).

Is MAFS’ Veronica an actress?

Yes! Or, at least, she’s definitely given acting a shot. Veronica has some professional credits to her name, with the most recent ones from 2023.

She has an active StarNow profile which, fun fact, lists speaking intermediate Greek as a skill. It also shows she had a role in the play The Stoned Ape at Bondi Pavilion in 2023.

Studio portraits of MAFS 2025's Veronica Cloherty: Black-and-white on the left, denim-themed on the right

She’s also got a handful of screen credits, according to her IMDb, including a role in the feature film Streets of Colour. She also appeared in the short film While We Live and the web series RIFK.

So while we’d hesitate to call her a full-fledged actress we can definitely say she’s dipped her toes in the industry.

Who is Veronica matched with on MAFS?

Veronica’s TV hubbie is the notorious runaway groom, Eliot Donovan.

Eliot, 35, was originally paired with Lauren Hall, but he quit the experiment when he decided she wasn’t up to his standards. Oh, and because she was over 30 (ew).

Will his second chance at love be any smoother?

A “high maintenance diva” on set?

According to Daily Mail Australia, Veronica has been causing quite the scene on set, with insiders claiming she’s been “nothing but trouble” for both her groom and the production crew.

“’It’s all about her, and it’s becoming a bit of a nightmare for everyone that tries to cross paths,” an insider revealed to the publication.

Some have even labelled her a “high-maintenance diva”, with sources close to Daily Mail alleging her real motivation is to boost her acting career.

“She’s treating this show like a personal audition,” another source claimed.

The minute the cameras are on, she’s performing, but behind the scenes, it’s all about advancing her career.”

So is she here for love or the limelight? Either way, Veronica’s MAFS stint is shaping up to be one to watch.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

“Massive blindside”: Sam Thaiday on why he believes he won I’m a Celebrity 2025

Sam Thaiday beat out reality TV icons Reggie Bird and Matty ‘J’ Johnson to be crowned King of the Jungle in the I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 finale.

During a post-win interview, Sam told Chattr that he was shocked to score the win and revealed that he thought Big Brother’s Reggie had it in the bag.

“It was a massive blindside. I thought Reggie [would win],” he told Chattr. “Reggie is the reality Queen when it comes to this style of show.”

“From the moment I knew and saw Reggie on the rock at the start, and I helped her down to the platform, I just thought, ‘Yep, she’s she’s top three for sure.'”

Sam Thaiday with I’m a Celebrity finalists Reggie Bird and Matty J Johnson and hosts Julia Morris and Robert Irwin. Image: Ten.

Sam said that throughout his life, he’s been pigeonholed. He believes that his journey on I’m a Celebrity allowed people to see a different side of him, which resonated with the audience.

“People know me from playing rugby league, and maybe that’s why I surprised a few people; because I have a lot more strings in my bow than just being a footballer,” he explained.

“And that’s one of the reasons why I really wanted to go on the show because for a long, long time I have been labelled a bit of a beefhead. But there’s a lot more to me, and there always has been.

“People in the rugby league circles, that inner sanctum, would be able to tell you that I’ve always been the funny, light-hearted bloke. But when I have my footy boots on, and I cross that white line, I turn into a raging beast on the field. So, it was really nice to show Australia a different side of me.”

How did Sam Thaiday celebrate his I’m a Celebrity 2025 win?

Rather than spending a night celebrating his triumph with champagne and cheeseburgers, Sam jumped on the first flight home with his family.

“I left Australia on the ninth of January, so I just wanted to get home,” he explained.

Sam told Chattr that having the opportunity to see his two daughters watch him win I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 was celebration enough.

“It was really, really nice to get a big squeeze from both the girls afterwards, just sitting there and debriefing with Rach (his wife) and the girls; there was something cathartic about it,” he said.

“I was so happy to celebrate it with them because they also had to sacrifice in me being over there, and Rachel had to keep the house running in Sydney — which she referred to as her own Viper Den sometimes. But I was so pumped to be able to share that fantastic moment.”

Sam with his family. Image: Ten.

Sam’s personal connection to his charity Find Ya Feet

Sam chose Find Ya Feet as his charity on I’m A Celebrity, which supports young men’s mental health. As well as raising awareness about the organisation, the rugby league player won a $100,000 cash prize for the charity.

Sam, who is of Torres Strait Islander descent, explained to Chattr that he struggled with suicidal thoughts when he was younger and wished that there was a charity like Find Ya Feet to help him at the time.

“As a young kid, I really struggled myself with a lack of identity, not knowing who I was, coming from a mixed-race family.

“I had some suicidal thoughts as a young boy as well, and then I lost a good mate in 2007 to suicide. So I wanted to support a charity that supports young boys and lets them know that it’s okay to talk about your feelings at a young age.”

Sam has a workshop booked with Find Ya Feet founder Tommy Herschell for late February at Palm Beach Currumbin State High on the Gold Coast.

“Now that I’ve been able to financially support him, I’ll also support him with my time, too.”

What a worthy King of the Jungle!

A resurfaced clip of MAFS’ Ryan has sent actor rumours into overdrive

One of the most joyous yet truly absurd things Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 manages to consistently deliver to viewers each year is introducing us all to some quirky participants who turn the dating experiment into actual TV gold, whether that’s in good or bad ways.

One couple who has people talking is Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly, who are both, somehow, speaking the same (bizarre) language – Jacqui’s looking for a man who will take the lead and let her lean into her “feminine” while Ryan has a “warrior mentality” and woefully asked in his very first episode, “where did all the men go?”

Yet, somehow, the two of them so far haven’t been able to fully hit it off, despite their love for TikTok-style relationship lingo.

From Ryan dropping Jacqui on the dance floor and begging producers to cut out the footage so it wouldn’t embarrass his new wife to Jacqui’s disgust at Ryan’s shoes on the lounge and bed, the relationship has already been through its teething issues. Things were not made any better by Ryan ranking Jacqui third in the Confessions Week photo ranking challenge, leaving his new wife distraught.

MAFS fans convinced Ryan and Jacqui are production plants

The bizarre back and forth of Ryan and Jacqui’s dynamic, with the couple being relatively fine one second before clashing the next, has left fans quite baffled. Now, many fans have started taking to social media to speculate if the two are actually actors, especially after Jacqui’s ability to burst into tears at random points.

“I am convinced she’s an actress,” one MAFS viewer said on an Instagram post, with many agreeing. “Absolutely believe they are both actors, trying to get recognised by Home and Away,” another person joked, while some tried to allege Jacqui was “fake crying”.

“Ok so are these two actors? Very bad acting. Has to be fake so scripted,” another disbeliever commented.

Ryan’s reality TV history

A resurfaced clip of Ryan on Aussie reality show Beauty and The Geek hasn’t helped rumours that the controversial groom is a production plant, with Ryan role-playing what appears to be an army drill sergeant ahead of an interrogation on the show.

In the clip, a buff Ryan is seen looking stern and directing the participants to move to a certain direction.

MAFS fans on TikTok flooded the comments section with their suspicions on Ryan.

“He’s also been an extra on Neighbours – he’s an actor,” one person said, with another saying, “Oh I have HEARD they have been recycling actors in these shows.”

“That’s where he got his warrior mindset haha,” another joked.

Ryan spotted filming a Hollywood movie in Sydney

To make matters worse, Ryan was recently been spotted on the set of a new film with a major Hollywood star.

Daily Mail Australia published photos of Ryan strolling down a Sydney street carrying a briefcase and wearing a smart, blue suit while a camera crew was filming him. Also filming scenes were Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien, 24 actor Dennis Haysbert and Twilight‘s Xavier Samuel.

It’s believed the men were filming for a new horror thriller called SendHelp.

Prior to appearing on MAFS, Ryan had other paid acting gigs. According to his deactivated Star Now profile, he’s had parts on Neighbours and NCIS: Sydney.

Jacqui admits she plays it up for the cameras

In response to fans’ confusion around her erratic behaviour, Jacqui Burfoot has taken to Instagram to share her MAFS experience. “I agree – my character makes no sense,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram Story. “Blame the editors!”

Jacqui went on to allege that viewers had been “fed a highly fictional storyline”, and addressed a few specific moments from the show, but also did admit to “playing up for the camera” at times.

A MAFS groom has chimed in on the Jacqui and Ryan acting rumours

In an interview with MAFS groom Adrian Araouzou, we decided to ask him about his stance on Jacqui and Ryan and if, well, they’re two actors taking the piss.

“It’s funny, I’ve seen those comments too,” Adrian said to Chattr about the rumours. “I wish I could tell people they were actors. But that is Jacqui, and that is Ryan.

“In a weird way, they somewhat work together,” Adrian continued. “Because you’re like, wait a minute, how can anyone be like Jacqui? Then you get Ryan, and who the hell is like Ryan?! It’s like the perfect pair. And that’s a 0.0001% chance to find a perfect match like those two, and the experts found them.”

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS’ Clint Rice: Meet the pro golfer joining the 2025 intruders

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 is already delivering on the drama, and with the arrival of the intruder brides and grooms, things are heating up even more. One groom leading the chaos? MAFSClint Rice.

Here’s everything we know about him.

Who is MAFS’ Clint Rice?

Clint, 43, is a professional golfer and business owner who has built a successful career in both sport and business. But when it comes to love, he’s still searching for the right match.

After a 10-year relationship ended, Clint took time to focus on personal growth, giving him a clearer idea of what he wants in a partner.

A self-described romantic, he’s looking for someone affectionate, ambitious, and open to self-improvement. His biggest red flag is someone who isn’t willing to grow.

Who is Clint matched with on MAFS?

Clint is set to marry returning bride Lauren Hall, who was originally paired with Eliot Donovan. In a surprising twist, Lauren is also the recent ex of 2024 groom Jonathan McCullough.

Lauren considers herself an old-school romantic and jokes that she was born in the wrong decade.

This will be her second chance at love, but there are already rumours of trouble on the horizon…

Was Clint spotted with Jacqui?

MAFS 2025 bride Jacqui Burfoot seems to have split from her TV husband Ryan Donnelly, saying that she is now in a relationship. One of Ryan’s friends also chimed in to more or less confirm that the person she was in a relationship with wasn’t Ryan.

According to Daily Mail Australia, Jacqui relocated to Tasmania, where she’s now been linked to Clint! Jacqui first hinted at a “fresh start” with an Instagram update on December 2, and just days later, she was seen with Clint at a wildlife park in Tasmania.

Apparently, Ryan was blindsided by the move. Talk about D-R-A-M-A!

How it unfolds on screen remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: this season isn’t slowing down anytime soon!

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

“Fake”: A body language expert decodes WTF is happening with Jacqui and Ryan

Each year, Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 delivers some genuinely bizarre matches, and this year, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly have taken the cake for the season’s most controversial couple. Jacqui and Ryan’s relationship has been such a rollercoaster that fans questioned early on whether they were planted actors because of their hot and cold dynamic.

From Ryan’s comments about Jacqui’s “crazy eyes” (while also telling all the lads she gives “good head”) to Jacqui’s inability to let go of not being ranked first in the photo challenge, somehow, despite the dinner party drama and fights, the two seem determined to make their relationship work. Or extend their 15 minutes of fame. Either one.

Combined Communications Specialist and Body Language Expert Scott Taylor spoke to Chattr about MAFS’ latest commitment ceremony after everyone was once again left baffled by Jacqui and Ryan’s newly reunited state.

Body language expert decodes MAFS’ Jacqui and Ryan: “Fake”

There’s no denying Jacqui and Ryan are truly an enigma, and to put it frankly, Scott isn’t buying what they’re selling.

“When Ryan said he was ‘crass and non-gentleman-like’ (with the heart touch), [it] was practised and did not seem sincere,” Scott told Chattr. “Jacqui is saying she needs to be positive, but is leaning away and closed off.”

MAFS’ Ryan and Jacqui have even left the experts baffled with their on-again, off-again relationship. Image: Nine

One of the commitment ceremony’s most peculiar moments was when Ryan was overcome by emotion as he talked about his future son, a moment Scott dubbed as “fake”.

“The whole children line was a completely blurred, garbled sentence,” Scott said. “Ryan’s fake emotion, ‘my son when he comes’, was a terrible attempt at an emotional statement. There was no facial micro-alignment.”

Scott said the two are simply putting on appearances in front of the group and experts. “When the sales pitch started, they leaned close then away again,” he pointed out. “The closeness is just for appearance.”

Jacqui goes rogue on Instagram, labels Ryan ‘Temu Tate’

While on-screen, the two are attempting to survive another week, Jacqui hasn’t been shy about voicing where she’s at post-MAFS. She took to her business Instagram page last night to dub Ryan as ‘Temu Tate’, while dropping a spoiler about tonight’s episode.

“Every woman on the planet deserves to be put first by their partner!!!” she captioned the video. “(P.S. Tomorrow I say f-them, I deserve better, and distance myself from Temu Tate.)”

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS 2025 Episode 13 Recap: Sierah and Adrian’s ‘secret’ exposed

I am (dis)pleased to report that no Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couples went home during the second Commitment Ceremony. Not one! I am equally unhappy that the MAFS “cheating scandal” was about as promising as an avocado being perfectly ripe when opened. Anyway, let’s recap.

Who’s in love on MAFS?

Jamie and Dave: The only couple I believe from the Commiment Ceremony is Lil’ Jamie and Big Dave. They found sparks out of their asses after establishing common values. We love an ass spark.

Dave and Jamie tell the MAFS experts they are happy.
All fun and games until you see the electricity bill. Image: Nine.

Who’s not in love on MAFS 2025?

Morena and Tony: There was a lot of chat about Tony needing “Tony Time” during his marriage to Morena. I’m sorry, but is Tony Time code for flogging the log? Spanking the monkey? Beating the meat? Sure did sound like it.

Tony looking stressed at the MAFS Commitment Ceremony.
Leave me and my Tony Time alone. Image: Nine.

Anyway, Morena, a 57-year-old woman, got in trouble for pointing her finger. She also wrote leave, and, more shockingly, Tony wrote stay. I guess that Tony Time really can help you deal with all that talky talky.

Morena and Tony question their future on MAFS.
No more talky talky. Image: Nine.

Carina and Paul: I’m glad Carina showed you her inner-dom, Paul, but I’m not buying that you’re magically into each other this time around. That being said, it sure does sound like Carina and Paul are still together. Or are they playing the media game both inside and outside of the MAFS 2025 experiment?

Carina smiles at Paul on MAFS.
I knew lingerie and fondue would do the trick. Image: Nine.

Rhi and Jeff: They’re doing the best they can with the cards they were dealt IMO. Rhi looked like she wanted to cry when Jamie and Dave were discussing ass sparks, and it wasn’t happy tears.

Rhi and Jeff discuss their past on the MAFS couch.
There is no electricity in my anoos. Image: Nine.

Jacqui and Ryan: Jacqui doesn’t want Ryan to be dishonest (ranking her first in the photo challenge) but wants him to find a way to put her first (in the photo challenge). Makes sense!!!

They then start discussing the future children they’ll never have together, a short-lived conversation when they remember they have different book genre tastes. These two have to be actors. I won’t hear otherwise.

Jacqui and Ryan face the MAFS experts.
Non-fiction? Non-relationship!!!! Image: Nine.

Adrian and Awhina: Adrian said some stuff in between looking at the ceiling and making Awhina feel like she’s the bane of his existence. I think.

Did anyone else see the audience poll on whether or not Awhina should leave Adrian? I hope their relationship is over now, or they didn’t see the poll, because for both to exist would be painfully awkward.

Awhina explained her relationship issues with Adrian on MAFS.
Get Out (Leave!). Image: Nine.

Sierah and Billy: Sierah and Billy finally sealed their second deal. Yay! Except Sierah called it a “drunken fumble” while Billy thought they were “connecting”. I’m sure that’ll give him the confidence he needs for round three!

Sierah's past is brought up during the MAFS 2-25 Commitment Ceremony.
Please clarify “fumble”. Image: Nine.

Anyway, turns out Sierah has been opening up emotionally with her footsie fetish partner, Adrian. This pisses both Awhina and Billy off, and it suddenly becomes a competition between those two on who’s more hurt.

Awhina finds out about Adrian and Sierah at the MAFS Commitment Ceremony.
What about me?! It isn’t fair. Image: Nine.

Sierah is pretty Frozen a la Madonna the whole time, so I can tell she really doesn’t want to tell Billy about her past or Australia, which is fair.

Perhaps her moment with Adrian was also a drunken fumble of the mouth? I’m sorry if he thought they were connecting.

I feel bad for Sierah, but I feel worse for the audience, who thought they were getting something more sinister.

Maybe the conceiving of illegitimate twins, perhaps a dose of tinea transfer. At this point, I’d settle for anything other than “We chatted once.”

A version of this recap initially appeared on the Talking Schmidt Substack and has been reproduced here with permission.

MAFS’ Beth Kelly is the “brutally honest” Brit bride that the 2025 experiment needs

The drama on Married at First Sight 2025 (MAFS) is heating up, especially with the arrival of the intruder brides and grooms, including Beth Kelly.

Here’s everything we know about her so far.

Who is MAFS’ Beth Kelly?

Beth is a 28-year-old salon manager originally from Lancashire, Northwest England. She moved to Australia 12 years ago with her family.

She’s never had a boyfriend before, but now she’s ready to change that!

Fun, loyal and vibrant, Beth has always longed for love and wants a partner who makes her laugh and lets her be her true self.

Beth describes herself as a “brutally honest” person who isn’t afraid of confrontation, but she’s also the go-to friend for advice and support.

According to the Daily Mail, she’ll be a one to watch with a production source saying, “she is not here to fade into the background”.

Who is Beth matched with on MAFS?

Beth is paired with Teejay Halkias, who may be a familiar face for reality TV fans given he’s previously appeared on Big Brother 2023.

Teejay, who’s of Greek and Indian heritage, has worked as a photographic and runway model, starring in TV commercials and music videos. His now private Instagram is filled with beach pics, activewear shoots, and wedding tux shots (pretty on-brand for a MAFS groom).

Some big tea this season is that MAFS bride Jamie Marinos and Teejay have hooked up in the past. And when did Jamie decide to share this tidbit? At his actual TV wedding to Beth.

According to The Daily Mail Australia, Beth was reportedly blindsided by the revelation, and its one of the juiciest plot points this season.

The intruders are here to shake things up

The new batch of intruders didn’t just happen by chance. Per Daily Mail Australia, an insider spilled that the fresh recruits were handpicked to stir things up after three MAFS couples exited early, leaving plot lines feeling a little… dull.

“They were told from the get-go that they need to create tension and keep the drama flowing,” the source claimed.

In that case, we’re sure we’re not the only ones keen to see how Beth and the other intruders shake up the experiment!

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

I’m a Celebrity 2025 winner: Sam Thaiday crowned King of the Jungle!

After weeks of rice, beans, and insane trials, I’m A Celebrity Australia 2025 has crowned its latest King of the Jungle, winner Sam Thaiday!

The former NRL star took out the top spot in the show’s closest vote yet, winning $100,000 for his chosen charity, Find Ya Feet, an organisation dedicated to empowering men of all ages to open up about their struggles, equipping them with the tools to speak out and challenge the status quo.

Sam battled it out in the final three alongside Big Brother icon Reggie Bird and The Bachelor‘s Matty J, with all three reflecting on the highs, lows, and seriously questionable meals that carried them through the South African jungle to the grand finale.

To mark the milestone, the celebs got the ultimate surprise: an emotional reunion with their loved ones. Sam’s wife Rachel and daughters Ellsie and met him at the waterfall, Reggie’s daughter Mia and sister Anita showed up at the creek, while Matty’s wife Laura Byrne and daughters Lola and Marlie-Mae arrived in camp. Cue the happy tears!

But the jungle wasn’t done with the finalists just yet. The trio had to endure one last horror: the Hot Tub Slime Machine — a bubbling bath of rotten eggs, elephant poo, and, because the jungle never lets up, more rice and beans. With their loved ones answering questions to earn stars for dinner, it was a final test of endurance… and also gag reflexes.

The celebs spent their last night in camp reminiscing about their time together before the all-important moment arrived. And while the vote was nail-bitingly close, it was Sam who officially took the crown as winner of I’m A Celebrity for 2025!

Speaking about his chosen charity, Find ya Feet, Sam explained: “Tommy [Herschell] is an absolute legend of a man.”

“I’ve been able to be a part of his workshops previously. His goal is to offer a platform for individuals to share their stories and equip them with the skills to be able to own their problems. He helps provide tools that enable them to shift that ‘get on with it’ culture well after the workshop pulls up.”

“Their vision is to empower every individual with the tools and skills they need to engage in conversations that go well past ‘How are ya?’. I wish I had a mentor like Tommy to come and talk to me as a 13-year-old boy. His workshops give especially young boys a chance to share their emotions in a safe space without judgmental criticism,” Sam shared.

Reflecting on his own experience, Sam opened up about losing his best friend to suicide in 2007.

“If he had a mentor like Tommy at a young age, maybe he would have had the tools to share his emotions and lessen the burden he felt. Maybe Joey would be here today.”

What an incredible cause. Onya, Sam!

Big congrats to Sam and all the celebs who survived the jungle this year!

This MAFS intruder reportedly has a history with one of the season’s brides

Another day, another leaked Married At First Sight (MAFS) participant making its way into our newsfeeds before we get to meet them on our televisions. This time it’s MAFS intruder Teejay Halkias who already has a few reality TV connections.

MAFS bride Jamie’s reported connection to Teejay

The latest update in this space is that MAFS bride Jamie Marinos has reportedly revealed that she has slept with Teejay in the past. And she is believed to have announced the news of their former tryst while attending his wedding, no less.

Per reporting from The Daily Mail Australia, an insider has revealed, “We were all sitting at the main table, enjoying the wedding, and then Jamie just walked over and said, I slept with TJ'”.

Apparently, according to accounts from other guests shared by The Daily Mail, the shocking reveal left Beth Kelly – Teejay’s bride – in total shock.

Who else does Teejay Halkias know from past MAFS seasons?

MAFS 2024 contestant Eden Harper commented on @mafsgossip pap shots of Teejay and follows him — as does 2023’s Bronte Schofield and 2024’s Ridge Barredo.

Ridge and Bronte didn’t immediately respond for comment about how they knew Teejay. However, Eden has confirmed to Chattr that she is close friends with Teejay and that they know each other from Adelaide.

“Teejay and I are both originally from Adelaide and both now live in Queensland, so we have known each other for quite a long time and are great friends,” Eden told Chattr.

“He’s a really nice and polite guy. He’s a social butterfly and is full of energy, enthusiasm and confidence.”

Teejay and Eden talked about the experience before he went on MAFS, with Eden saying: “We’d definitely talked about the pros and cons in the lead up to him going on! I’m hoping for a successful journey for him.”

Teejay Halkias was on Big Brother

Teejay was actually on Big Brother 2023, following in the footsteps of other MAFS 2025 cast members who have graced our television screens before.

Considering it was recently reported that several MAFS couples quit the experiment by the first Commitment Ceremony, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Teejay is an early MAFS intruder to try and solve this issue.

An intruder on Big Brother and now MAFS? What are the odds?

Teejay Halkias has modelled in the past

It looks like Teejay isn’t a stranger to the camera, with his profile on talent agency theright.fit listing him as a model, actor and creator.

He has some spicy beach photos on his profile, as well as shots of modelling activewear and even a wedding tux. He’ll fit right in when it comes to walking down the aisle!

His bio says he’s Greek and Indian. Teejay has worked as a photographic and runway model, and he says he’s starred in TV commercials and music videos previously.

MAFS intruders have notoriously shaken things up in the experiment with the likes of Evelyn Ellis and Madeleine Jevic entering midway through the show in the past.

And hey, they can find love from the show too! From Kerry and Johnny Balbuziente to Evelyn and Duncan James Simpson, the proof’s in the pudding.

Perhaps Teejay will have the same fate? Here’s hoping.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
