Everyone who was eliminated from MasterChef Australia 2025

It was all about unfinished business on MasterChef Australia 2025, as some of the most unforgettable contestants who were left hungry for more returned for another epic Back to Win season.

From 2012’s Audra Morrice to more recent standouts like 2023’s Declan Cleary and 2024’s Sav Perera, the MasterChef Australia 2025 cast was stacked with fan favourites and some serious culinary talent, all stepping back into the kitchen for one more shot at the coveted trophy.

The chefs, once again, faced high-stakes Pressure Tests, Mystery Box Challenges, Service Challenges and, of course, those dreaded elimination rounds.

Standing between them and the crown was the formidable panel of MasterChef Australia judges: the ever-charming Andy Allen, food critic Sofia Levin, beloved cook Poh Ling Yeow, and multi-Michelin-starred French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

In the end, it was Laura Sharrad — who’d came runner up twice in previous seasons — who finally got her flowers and was crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia 2025.

Read on to find out everyone that was eliminated during the MasterChef Australia 2025 season.

Everyone who has left MasterChef Australia 2025

Callum Han

Callum was the final contestant eliminated on MasterChef Australia 2025 during the grand final.

In the first round, Callum and Laura were neck and neck, with both receiving a score of 38 out of 40 for their dishes incorporating potato and rosemary.

However, Callum fell short in the second round when the final two were tasked with recreating Miko Aspiras‘ Botanical Garden cake. He struggled with time and ended up receiving a score of 35 out of 50. Laura’s final dish was very similar to Miko’s, and she scored 42 out of 50.

In the end, Callum’s final score was 73 out of 90, versus Laura’s 80, and he was eliminated from the competition.

Jamie Fleming

Jamie was the last two-time returnee standing, and was eliminated during the Semi Finals. He was beaten out by third-time returnees Callum and Laura, after a less-than perfect dessert.

During a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Jamie said that he expected to be sent home after his chocolate crémeux didn’t set properly.

“I think I’d already accepted it. I knew that perfection was required to be able to go through,” Jamie told Chattr. “There was no misconception on my part. I understand the level that the other two operate at, and I saw their desserts going out, and I knew that I had made a silly error with one of my recipes.”

Depinder Chhibber

Depinder. Image: Ten.

Depinder Chhibber ended her MasterChef Australia journey in fourth place after being sent through to round two alongside Jamie.

She chose to take a risk and stepped out of her comfort zone by cooking chilli cinnamon gravy, cinnamon rice and apple and a caramelised onion chutney, topping it with a scotch egg, with cinnamon throughout its layers.

Unfortunately, her scotch egg was under, and the mistake saw her eliminated from the competition. Depinder told Chattr in a post-elimination interview that rather than being disappointed about being eliminated, she was upset that she wouldn’t be cooking in the MasterChef Australia kitchen anymore.

“I was feeling sadness because I was like, I’m not going to be able to come here again tomorrow and cook. That was the reason why I was genuinely upset. It wasn’t the fact that I was getting eliminated,” she said.

Ben Macdonald

Ben. Image: Ten.

Ben Macdonald was eliminated during a one-bite challenge set by New Zealand chef Vaughan Mabee. Depinder was immune and watched on as Laura, Callum, Ben and Jamie curated their appetisers.

While the judges were very impressed by all of the dishes made by the contestants, they all agreed that Ben’s was a little too overpowering, and mused that he could have benefited by removing a few ingredients.

Sofia told the contestants that, “up against perfection,” Ben’s dish “just fell short,” and he was eliminated from the competition.

Sarah Todd

Sarah. Image: Ten

The MasterChef Australia kitchen served up heartbreak this week as fan fave Sarah Todd was sent packing after a high-stakes 60-minute elimination round.

In a twist that tested their adaptability, Sarah and Jamie had to whip up any dish they liked, but with a catch. They could only use ingredients that Season 1 winner Julie Goodwin or Season 16 winner Nat Thaipun used in their winning dish.

For round one, Sarah found herself working with Nat’s picks, and while the initial scramble had her stressed, she soon found her spark. “I am not going to play it safe, I’m going to play Sarah,” she told the judges, ready to bring the heat.

She was sent through to round two, where she chose to cook an ambitious pork assiette, pork done three ways. Sadly, the dish didn’t deliver the wow needed to land her in the coveted top five, and she was sent home.

“Obviously, I was devastated to be eliminated. I think that we all want to get to the end, and I think every day in the MasterChef kitchen is definitely another day where you just get to perfect your craft and really push yourself,” she told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

Snezana ‘Snez’ Calic

Snez on MasterChef Australia 2025.
Snezana. Image: Ten.

Universally adored contestant Snezana ‘Snez’ Calic was sent home during a Time Switch challenge, in which she competed against Ben, Callum, Sarah, and Depinder.

The task saw the contestants given a stopwatch, with a time limit of 90 minutes, which needed to be used over the two rounds, unless their first dish made them immune from the second round.

Snez spent 49 minutes on her first dish, giving her limited time on her second dish, ultimately leading to her being sent home.

In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Snez said that she had a feeling that she’d be going home after she served her Wagyu and Lardo Skewer with a Green Buttermilk Sauce and Aioli.

“I kind of knew that this dish was not the best, but also, look, I was so close! I never even thought I’d be in the top 10 or top seven, and so close to the top five, and so close to that final goal, so it’s not a great feeling,” she said of her elimination.

“But when Poh pointed out to look around and see who I was cooking with, I was so proud that I got this far with these amazing cooks and chefs around me this year.”

Alana Lowes

Alana Lowes on MasterChef
Alana. Image: Ten.

Alana Lowes found herself in a ‘dual duel,’ which saw her tackle a one-on-one cook against Sarah, while Laura went up against Snez. The judges deemed Snez and Sarah’s dishes the most impressive, so Alana and Laura cooked against each other in an elimination challenge and were required to use fennel seeds in their dish.

Laura served up a Chilled Squid and Fennel Noodle dish while Alana opted for a Sour Cherry Sorbet and Candied Fennel Stalks.

Unfortunately for Alana, the judges said that while her fennel seed flavour was there, it battled to shine through against all the other elements, and she was sent home.

“Initially, I was devastated because I had the best experience, but I also instantly felt the love in the room,” Alana told Chattr of her elimination.

“As the verdict came in, I could feel the hugs from everybody, even though Laura and I were standing by ourselves. The judges also had such beautiful and kind words for me – not only during the verdict of my final challenge, but throughout my whole experience on the show – like calling me ‘the flavour queen’ as I paired incredible flavours together.”

Audra Morrice

Audra Morrice on Masterchef Australia

In a devastating turn, Sunday’s Elimination Cook saw Audra say goodbye to the MasterChef kitchen, again. Audra originally made it to the top 3 on MasterChef Australia in 2012, was a co-host for MasterChef Asia in 2015, and a judge on MasterChef Singapore. But, sadly, her second turn on Back To Win has come to an end.

Tasked with cooking a dish that transports you to another country, Audra went with a classic Spanish Paella. However, due to her dish’s numerous issues, including watery consistency and unevenly cooked seafood, she was asked to hang up her apron.

Andre Ursini

Dessert was Andre’s downfall. Image: Ten

Andre struggled with Philip Khoury‘s Pressure Test: a plant-based dessert called Dawn of a Tropical New Day. Contestants had to create an intricately decorated dish, with coconut, white chocolate, fresh mango compote and coconut chantilly.

Sadly, Andre’s sponge and chocolate shell were too thick, affecting the flavours. After a good run in MasterChef Australia 2025, he was sent home.

Declan Cleary

Fans were left saddened after Declan’s Inside Out Skewers failed to impress, with the judges citing that the dish was incomplete. The cooking task was set by Aussie icon Maggie Beer, with the challenge being a “decreasing time versus increasing ingredients” task.

Sadly, Declan just missed out on a place in the top 10 thanks to his sauceless slaw, with the judges wanting to see a more cohesive plate.

Theo Loizou

Curtis Stone returned for another cook-along, which unfortunately sent Theo packing. Ben, Jamie, Sarah and Theo were tasked with his cooking Slow-Cooked Lamb Raviolo, and it looked like Jamie was in trouble when he had to redo his Ricotta.

However, Theo faced a bigger problem: his ricotta didn’t set, and his pasta was undercooked, leading to his elimination.

“I was really disappointed, but at the same time I was kind of relieved as well in a way,” he told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

“It was quite hard this time around, against seasoned chefs. I’m, like, an infant in this industry, so I’m still trying to find my feet, and it was really difficult competing against such good cooks. It was really disappointing, though, because obviously I wanted to go further and win.”

Beau Cook

On last night’s Sweet Week Elimination Cook, the chefs were tasked with crafting a mindblowing dessert inspired by their childhood memories, and whoever impressed the judges the least would be hanging up their apron. After his Spider Splice with homemade Cola ice fizzled, the judges bid goodbye to Beau.

“It was a sense of disappointment and relief,” Beau told Chattr of his elimination. “Obviously, I’d had a really good couple of weeks leading up to that, I didn’t think I’d actually get to that point and do that well with some of the food. But, I was excited to get home and just get back into some projects.”

Samira El Khafir

Samira on MasterChef.

Samira was sent home during an elimination that required four of the contestants to cook a MasterChef-worthy dish using a selection of the 40+ ingredients. She chose to make a Turkish Chicken and Eggplant Kofta, but her chicken, which she cooked on the hibachi, ended up being too dry.

It was the second MasterChef Australia 2025 journey that ended after a hibachi cook. Cath was also sent home earlier in the season because her cooking method on the hibachi caused some of the mushrooms to burn.

“I think there’s a curse about it, because the hibachi, for some reason, was just not as hot as it was meant to be,” Samira laughed in a post-elimination interview with Chattr.

“At the end of the day, it is what it is. It happened. I left, and it’s time to move on and focus on the future,” she added.

Darrsh Clarke

Darrsh cooking on MasterChef: Back To Win Australia 2025

Darrsh was up against Ben, Callum, Andre and Samira in an elimination round set by viral online chef Andy Cooks. After their epic cheese-pull dishes were deemed not so epic in the first challenge, Andy challenged the chefs to create a “satisfying slice” to save their aprons.

Sticking to what he knows, Darrsh plated up a Choux pastry bun – with a twist! This time it was Choux-ception, with Darrsh attempting a Choux bun inside a Choux bun. The outer bun would have an orange blossom crème pâtissière inside, while the inner bun was stuffed with a pistachio praline.

Despite bold intentions, Darrsh used too many eggs and plated up a burnt pastry. With the judges unimpressed, Darrsh bid farewell to the MasterChef Australia kitchen for the second year in a row.

On his exit, Darrsh said, “meeting all of these amazing people, it’s been very inspiring to be around, and I think just having that energy to be around you really motivates you, and I’m really excited for what’s next.”

Tim Bone

Tim Bone on MasterChef. Image: Ten.

Sunday night’s episode of MasterChef saw 12 of the contestants fighting for their apron in a Pressure Test. The challenge, set by Jean-Christophe Novelli, was to hero butter in a dish. Unfortunately, fan fave Tim Bone was sent home after choosing to cook confit duck with only 75 minutes of cooking time.

Tim plated up a Confit Duck with Celeriac Purée, Miso Mushrooms and Asparagus for the judges. Sadly though, the duck was undercooked and tough, while the other flavours were muddled and the butter didn’t stand out.

When speaking to the judges, Tim said: “The pressure does get to you, you do get in your own head.”

Tim lamented that he wanted to “get back to the bloke” he was the last time he was on MasterChef, because “he was just loving life.”

Rue Mupedzi

Rue Mupedzi went up against Sarah, Tim and Audra in a Pressure Test set by Blayne Bertoncello.

The cooks had to create Blayne’s technical Variations of Sourdough and Strawberry with Elderflower and Balsamic dessert. But instead of making one dish, they had to make five!

The judges were impressed with Audra and Sarah’s creations, but thought Rue and Tim’s were lacking. Ultimately, Rue was sent home, with the judges saying that her pastry cream was overcooked and her strawberry gum emulsion was almost entirely lacking.

“I was very bummed, because I felt like I still had so much more to showcase, so much more to give and unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen,” Rue told Chattr of her elimination.

“I felt like, Oh, I’m saving all these good dishes so that I can make them another time, and another time never came. So it was just like, you know, really disappointing not having had the opportunity to make some creative ideas that I had.”

Rhiannon Anderson

Rhiannon Anderson was sent home during a Surf and Turf challenge set by Josh Niland. The contestants were asked to create a dish with a spin on the classic meal.

Rhiannon opted for Lobster Wontons with Beef Broth. Unfortunately, Andy said she veered too far away from her usual cooking, and she was eliminated from the competition.

“I’ll stick to the original [Surf and Turf],” Rhiannon told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

“It’s so funny because it was mine and Dino’s first date meal, and I always cook it for him, the original. So, I’m definitely not going on the modern take anymore,” she laughed.

Jimmy Wong

Viewers said goodbye to another lovable MasterChef Australia contestant when Jimmy Wong was sent home during the Pressure Test set by celebrated pastry chef Steven He.

Jimmy was emotional when he found out that he was leaving the competition, but told Chattr that despite his disappointment, his time on the show was “magical”.

“To be quite honest, I’ve enjoyed every minute,” he added.

Matt Hopcraft

Loveable dentist Matt Hopcraft was the fourth person eliminated from MasterChef Australia Back to Win 2025.

The May 18 episode kicked off Showstoppers week, and the first stop was an Elimination Round. The contestants were asked to create a dish with “tabletop theatre,” and Sofia explained that each dish would need to have an impressive flair.

Dephinder’s Raj Kachori Volcano did just that, with Andy saying that her dish worked “seamlessly”. However, Matt, Rue, and Snez’s dishes missed the mark, and they were announced as the bottom three.

Ultimately, it was Matt who was eliminated for his Anzac Biscuit Bombe Alaska dessert named The Rising Sun because his meringue split.

“It’s kind of gutting,” Matt said of his elimination. “Everyone’s going to be eliminated at some point, except for the one person who wins, but you want to be eliminated cooking something that’s really good, and you’ve just been beaten by other people who’ve done better.

“So it’s a little bit disappointing, but I was still really, really proud of what I did by taking a risk and trying to push myself to meet that particular brief.”

Steph De Souza

Steph on MasterChef 2025. Image: Ten.

Steph De Souza was put up for an elimination cook after Jamie guessed the wrong ingredient in the taste test. Jamie’s team was told that they were able to cook anything they like, but the pantry was only made up of ingredients from the taste test.

While Jamie struggled with his overcooked duck, Steph seemed relatively happy with her Crispy Pork Belly with Belachan Sauce.

However, the judges weren’t on the same page. They said that there was too much Belachan in the caramel sauce, and that the fat hadn’t rendered on the pork.

“I was actually really happy with my dish. So it’s always disappointing when you go out on something that you like,” Steph told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

Looking back on her dish, Steph said that despite her elimination, she was proud of what she served the judges..

“I still stand by it, which is probably stupid,” Steph laughed. “I really liked it. I really honestly felt that the sauce kind of balanced out the fattiness of the pork, but you know, everyone’s got different palettes, and I do like things that are really funky and really strong.”

Sav Perera

Fan favourite Sav Perera was eliminated during the Episode 6 Pressure Cook round.

Sav was put up against Ben, Sarah and Darrsh after the squid dish she cooked in the Mystery Box round wasn’t big enough for all of the judges to try.

During the elimination round, Sav forgot to chill her chocolate tin, which meant that it didn’t have enough time to form a shell, and bent out of shape when she tried to take it out of the mould.

Cath Collins

Cath Collins, who finished fifth on MasterChef Australia 2023, was the first Back to Win 2025 contestant eliminated.

Cath chose to cook a Japanese-inspired dish: marinated Japanese grilled mushrooms, furikake, pickled wakame, smoked soy cream, and shiso gel on the hibachi. However, her cooking method caused some of the mushrooms to burn, which led to her elimination.

Cath told Chattr in a post-elimination interview that she was “just devastated” to be the first person sent home from the competition. She said that it “never, ever entered” her mind that she’d be gone so early.

Pete Campbell

Pete on MasterChef

The first departure for 2025 was a particularly sad one. At the beginning of the episode, Andy announced that Pete Campbell was leaving MasterChef Australia.

“Before we kick things off, I’ve got some news,” the MasterChef judge began. “Due to personal reasons, Pete is unable to continue in the competition, and we wish him nothing but the best.”

A Network 10 spokesperson told Chattr that Pete left the show due to a medical diagnosis, which Pete has since confirmed is cancer.

“During production of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win, Pete Campbell received a diagnosis that required him to step away from the competition to focus on his health,” they began.

“The MasterChef family supports Pete in his recovery and hopes to see him back doing what he loves in the kitchen very soon.”

Shortly after Episode 3 of MasterChef Australia 2025 aired, Pete took to Instagram to confirm that this departure was due to being diagnosed with cancer.

“Didn’t even get to cook for the judges! But you know what they say… ‘if you have cancer, you should go get chemo,’” he wrote.

“A massive thank you to everyone messaging and checking in, you’re all so nice.”

MasterChef Australia season 17 airs in 2025 on 10 and 10Play.

Laura Sharrad crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia 2025

MasterChef Australia 2025: Back To Win came to a nail-biting conclusion tonight, with Laura Sharrad being crowned the winner on her third season of the hit reality series.

Laura first appeared on MasterChef in 2014 on Season 6 when she was just 19 years old, becoming the youngest ever contestant to reach the top three. She returned for a Back To Win season in 2020, where she finished runner-up.

Now, Laura’s finally nabbed the winning title after a stellar season of cooking in the 2025 season.

What happened in the finale of MasterChef Australia 2025?

The MasterChef Australia 2025 finale consisted of two rounds. In round one, Callum and Laura were shown five classic flavour pairings, but they’d end up using only one of them.

They were presented with two golden knives, and whoever chose the first golden knife had the first choice to remove one flavour pairing. It was a game of strategy, and both contestants worked to remove items they thought their competitor would succeed with.

The final flavour pairing they were left with was potato and rosemary. Laura cooked a potato risotto with rosemary while Callum cooked a creative take of oyster and potato noodles, and the judges were thoroughly impressed with both dishes.

Callum received a 9 from Andy, 9 from Sofia, 10 from Jean Christophe and 10 from Poh. Laura scored a 9 from Andy, 9 from Sofia, 10 from Jean Christophe and 10 from Poh. Meaning, that the score was dead even at 38 out of 40.

Round two was a pressure test set by Filino pastry chef Miko Aspiras and Laura and Callum were tasked with recreating the most technical and complex dish he’s ever created, a Bontanical Garden cake.

Miko’s Botanical Garden cake. Image: Ten.

The time limit was a struggle for the grand finalists, and both had issues with their chocolate pebbles; Laura’s were too small, and Callum’s were rushed. Because of the time crunch, Callum went rogue, rather than following the Pressure Test instructions.

While both contestants presented a complete dessert to the judges, Callum was clearly overwhelmed by the end of the Pressure Test and burst into tears when the time ran out.

In the end, Laura received a 8 from Miko, 8 from Poh, 9 from Sofia, 9 from Andy and 8 from Jean Christophe. Callum scored a 7 from Miko, 7 from Poh, 7 from Sofia, 7 from Andy and 7 from Jean Christophe.

That meant that Laura’s final score was 80 out of 90, compared to Callum’s 73, and she was crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia 2025.

“This is the most surreal feeling in the whole entire world, I’m just truly so proud of myself for coming back for a third time and completely setting myself up for heartbreak, and pulling off what I never really thought I could do,” Laura said through tears.

Laura’s time on MasterChef: Back To Win 2025

Laura said winning the title for the 2025 MasterChef season would be the “perfect closing chapter” and she fulfilled her dreams, beating fellow South Aussie chef Callum Hann in an exciting finale.

The third-time lucky contestant dedicated the season to her daughter Florence, who she gave birth to in 2024.

Laura dazzled the judges this season, winning immunity numerous times, and cooking some standout dishes like her Italian pasta dish with native Australian ingredients in episode 46, which saw Poh note in an emotional moment that Laura had channelled her mentor, Jock Zonfrillo.

From Sicilian rabbit ragu, to hand-cut tagliarini with yuzu kosho, Laura consistently blew away the judges week-to-week, scoring immunity three times. She also won the ice cream challenge set by Curtis Stone, which saw her creation of her Sticky Date Pudding & Butterscotch ice cream sold in Coles nationwide.

Laura’s previous MasterChef Australia attempts

MasterChef Season 6, 2014

Laura first appeared on MasterChef just over a decade ago, finishing as runner-up behind Brent Owens, scoring 80 points to his 83. She became the youngest contestant ever to win an immunity pin during this series, after facing off against Michelin-trained chef Donovan Cooke, crafting a Sicilian-inspired crispy-skinned snapper with a caper, anchovy, and tomato vinaigrette.

After the show, she worked with Jock Zonfrillo (prior to his MasterChef judging days) at his critically acclaimed restaurant Orana in Adelaide, before launching her own restaurant Nido.

Masterchef: Back To Win, 2020

Becoming the first person in MasterChef history to finish as runner-up twice, Laura came back for another standout cook, only being pipped at the post in the finale by Emelia Jackson. The final cook-off was one of the most intense seen on Aussie screens, as Emelia and Laura faced off in a high-pressure, four-hour service challenge.

Laura received backlash during this season, due to her close relationship with mentor Jock, and was accused of fans of cooking too many pasta dishes. At the time, she called the commentary “unfair and frustrating”.

MasterChef’s Jamie responds to Laura backlash and says she ‘deserves’ to be in finale

Laura Sharrad has well and truly proven herself on the MasterChef Australia grand stage — reaching her third finale on the 2025 Back to Win season.

However, despite her impressive track record on the cooking show, Laura has been met with a lot of criticism on social media, with many fans predicting that she’ll win when the season was only part-way through.

Some even went as far as to call the show ‘rigged’ in Laura’s favour. “It seems to me that the ‘judges’ have decided that Callum or Laura will win. Decided before the show began,” one person wrote on Twitter.

However, Jamie Fleming, who competed alongside Laura on MasterChef Australia Season 6 and 17, told Chattr that he believes Laura is extremely deserving of her place in the 2025 finale.

“She’s a powerhouse,” Jamie told Chattr.

“Laura can sometimes appear like she’s coasting because she’s just at a high level. She understands the competition. She’s a fantastic cook. She understands flavour, and probably doesn’t get the amount of props that she may deserve for some of the strategies that she implements,” he continued.

“At the end of the day, the whole competition is about what’s put on the plate, and whether it’s tasty. Like, is this dish yummy? And I can tell you, from doing this twice with her and experiencing her cooking regularly, she is a phenomenal chef, and absolutely deserves to be where she is. And I think that tonight is going to be a fantastic showdown. It’s going to be interesting to see who comes out on top.”

Who does Jamie think will win MasterChef Australia 2025?

Jamie spent the entire season competing against Laura and Callum, and narrowly missed out on making the grand finale when he was eliminated during the semi-final.

So, one would think that Jamie would have some insight into who he thinks will win MasterChef Australia 2025. However, he told Chattr he believes it could go either way.

“I think it’s on a knife-edge,” he said. “I hate to be the diplomat, but honestly, I don’t care who wins, because I think that both of them are so deserving. And I guarantee you likewise, if this were me in the grand final, and you were asking one of the other two, they’d say the same.

“We’ve all worked so hard. We’ve worked so closely together. Now that I’m out, I’ll just be a nice spectator and look forward to seeing who comes out on top.”

The MasterChef Australia finale airs on August 12 at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MasterChef’s Jamie spills on why strategy has become so important: ‘It is a game’

While we’re used to reality TV contestants talking strategy on shows like Australian Survivor, when you put a bunch of experienced chefs together to battle it out over the MasterChef title, it’s no surprise strategy comes into play.

With challenges getting more extreme as the series goes on, our favourite chefs are often tasked with not only figuring out what they want to cook, but what kind of advantage they can take going into the cook to stand out from their counterparts.

The time auction challenge in the second-last episode saw the final three contestants – Laura Sharrad, Callum Hann and Jamie Fleming – bid on ingredients across three categories. They had 120 minutes in which to bid, with a catch: the more time spent bidding, the less they’d have less on their clock to cook. When the auction began, Laura spent 40 minutes securing ribeye eventually leaving her with only 50 minutes for her cook, while Jamie picked the tofu for free, giving him a full 120 minutes of cook time.

Jamie’s strategy in this moment was to coax out maximum depth of flavour from long cooking techniques by using the least-popular dish, tofu. In doing this, he believed he’d be at an advantage compared to Callum and Laura, due to the fact they’d have less cooking time than him.

MasterChef: Back To Win: Jamie reveals why contestants are getting more and more strategic

Jamie’s strategic play paid off, with Jamie winning the vital 15-minute head start in the Semi-Final cook. While he unfortunately didn’t make it through to the finale, he told Chattr strategy has become an important part of being in the MasterChef kitchen.

“Strategy is super important,” Jaime told Chattr. “I think [that] Callum is a great strategist when it comes to the competition. I think that the people who always stand out, they do so from a strategic perspective.

“If everyone’s going one way and you go the other, it’s a great opportunity to stand out, and that’s a conscious decision by everybody within the game,” Callum elaborated. “And it is a game, we all know the rules very well, and we all know our strengths and how we can stand out, and I think that’s really important.”

Jamie says he wouldn’t do anything different if he had his time again on MasterChef

Jamie said his strategy in the semi-final was to be “completely different”, adding he wanted to make a menu that was “super aspirational”.

“I got a little bit ahead of myself and didn’t quite take into account everything that always happens in a kitchen, which, you know, generally comes down to everything taking about 50 to 60% more time that you thought it would, and then little things going wrong here and there,” he told Chattr. “So was it a misstep from me doing what I did, potentially. Would I do it very different next time? No, not really. I showed exactly what I wanted to show last night with the menu that I created. And even though the execution wasn’t quite there, the beautiful thing about food is I can go and cook it again another time, and smash that other parts. It’s just a learning experience.”

What’s next for MasterChef’s Jamie Fleming?

It’s already been a big year for Jamie, but he’s got his sights set on making the most of the opportunities MasterChef has provided for him.

“Post MasterChef for me is a lot more of saying yes to opportunity,” Jamie told Chattr. “We’ve got our little spot on the Sunshine Coast in the Hinterlands, Spill Wine, and we’re continuing to put out delicious little snacks, and that venue is, in itself, our little love letter to wine and celebrating a lot of beautiful producers from Australia and around the world.”

The MasterChef Australia 2025 finale airs on August 12 at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

We’re down to just two contestants on MasterChef Australia 2025, and we’ve discovered a major hint about the leaked winner from none other than judge Andy Allen himself.

Spoiler warning: If you don’t want to find out anything about who wins MasterChef Australia 2025, please look away now. This is your final spoiler warning!

When Chattr first spoke to judge Andy at the start of MasterChef Australia, did he give a very big hint? Andy couldn’t help but gush about Laura Sharrad, who has now made it to the MasterChef Australia 2025 finale along with Callum Hann.

“I just can’t help but single out Laura, who’s a new mum. She had a six-month-old baby when she walked back into the kitchen this year; she’s got businesses,” Andy told Chattr.

“For her to drop everything, and just for that, probably, last chance of lifting that trophy, just goes to show, like, after 17 seasons, where we’re still going strong, which is lovely.”

Andy judged Laura during his first season as a MasterChef judge back in Season 12, and he recalled how close she was to winning the title. “If it wasn’t for an icy Jerusalem artichoke ice cream, then she may have come out on top,” he said.

Production insider gives MasterChef Australia winner intel

Former MasterChef producer Alexandria Funnell took to TikTok to answer common questions she’s been asked about the show, and dropped another big clue about the winner.

“One little tidbit for this season is I know somebody, well, I know a few people that are currently working on it, and they told me that people will not be happy with the winner,” Alexandra revealed.

“I haven’t watched this season, I don’t know what that means, I don’t know if that’s significant. I don’t know if that’s leaking anything, but people will be potentially perturbed, according to an insider.”

The comments section has followers suggesting that Alexandria is referring to Laura Sharrad, who’s copped a lot of backlash from viewers on social media this season, with many calling her a “judge favourite”.

“That tip confirms my suspicions that Laura is going to win. They are pushing her as the winner so hard. She’s a great cook, but I do feel that it’s been pretty unfair for the other contestants,” one person commented.

Fans point out telling detail about who won MasterChef Australia 2025

Some fans have pointed out a detail that means the winner may have been leaked. Taking to a popular MasterChef Australia Facebook group, one eagle-eyed fan shared that every contestant on a promotional poster has been eliminated… except for one.

“Well, if you believe that the poster tells you the winner, Laura [Sharrad] is the only one left from the promo poster. So I guess the winner has been announced,” the fan claimed.

Another agreed, saying: “When they start the programme, Laura is holding up a trophy.”

However, another pointed out that production often films multiple endings so the winner doesn’t get leaked. Plus, Emilia Jackson won the show in 2020, but she wasn’t included in the original promo imagery.

Other fans weren’t too keen on the idea of Laura taking out the crown, with many preferring Callum Hann to walk away victorious.

“Laura has had her day in the sun with the Coles ice cream promotion. Might be someone else [who wins]? Depinder [Chhibber], Sarah [Todd] or Callum?” a fan pondered.

“I stopped watching because I’m sick of watching [Laura] cook and getting the most air time,” another added.

“I hope it’s not her, she’s painful. I’d love to see Callum win,” a third said.

What are the odds of who wins MasterChef Australia 2025?

According to Sportsbet, their last published odds had Laura Sharrad tipped as the winner with odds of $5.00. Callum is tipped with the next highest odds at $10.00.

Depinder was tipped to come in 3rd with her odds at $11.00. Jamie was the least favoured to win out of the top four, with odds at $13.00.

But, as any gambler will tell you, the odds aren’t the be-all end-all. The unexpected happens all the time.

Who wins MasterChef Australia 2025?

Recently eliminated contestant Andre Ursini believes both Callum and Laura have what it takes to go all the way. Could there be truth to this Laura rumour, after all?

“It’s pretty hard to win MasterChef. You need to be good at everything. There’s so many different aspects to it — you need to be good at team challenges, which require a certain skill set. You need to be good at your single dishes, individual dishes, which is another skill set. And you need to be good at following recipes and Pressure Tests,” Andre tells Chattr.

“Callum and Laura are top level at all of the aspects of MasterChef… [but] for me, a dark horse is Depinder,” he reveals. “Everyone who’s a good game player in MasterChef has their own angle at MasterChef. And it was quite interesting for me to sit back and watch their angles, because I didn’t have one. I just went [to] create chaos and have fun.”

Looks like there’s a pretty big chance that Laura is the winner of MasterChef Australia 2025 — but anything can happen in the heat of the kitchen. We’ll have to sit tight and wait for the grand finale to drop.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sunday at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Everything you need to know about the MasterChef Australia 2025 finale

The MasterChef Australia 2025 finale is upon us and one returning contestant is set to take the crown, marking their third shot at the title.

When is the MasterChef Australia finale on?

The MasterChef Australia 2025 finale airs on Tuesday, August 12 2025, at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Who’s in the MasterChef finale?

Laura and Callum are in the MasterChef Australia 2025 finale. Laura came in as a runner-up on Season 6 and Season 12. Callum, who’s also a third-time returnee, came second on season two, and fourth on season 12.

Jamie Fleming narrowly missed out after being eliminated during a service challenge in the semi-final. While the judges were blown away by his entrée and main, his dessert let him down after his chocolate crémeux didn’t set properly.

“I just fell a little bit short, but I’m okay with that, and I got beaten on the day by two amazing people,” Jamie told Chattr in a post-elimination interview.

Have any of the MasterChef Australia: Back to Win 2025 contestants won the show before?

No, the season is strictly for returning contestants who haven’t won the show before.

However, there’s a slight caveat to the rule. Callum competed on a spin-off of MasterChef Australia in 2012 called MasterChef Australia All-Stars, which was a mini season. He won $20,000 for his chosen charity, Cancer Council Australia.

What are the betting odds for the winner of MasterChef Australia 2025?

Sportsbet had a betting category available earlier in the season, but it’s closed now that the show is nearing its finale.

The last published betting odds had Laura tipped as the winner with odds of $5.00. with Callum sitting at $10.00. The finalists have been sitting with the best two odds to win for the majority of the season.

The MasterChef Australia 2025 finale airs on August 12 at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Jamie on why blind judging wouldn’t work in the MasterChef Australia 2025 finale

The MasterChef Australia 2025 winner will be decided by judges Poh Ling Yeow, Andy Allen, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Sofia Levine, who have guided and critiqued the contestants all season.

However, with such a small group making the final call, some viewers have wondered if a blind taste test by the judges in the finale might make things fairer.

“For me, at the end, it really should have been a blind taste (even with Laura using a lot of Australian ingredients),” one Reddit user speculated. Another added, “I think a blind tasting is a very good idea, and not just for the semi-finals.”

However, Jamie, who placed third on MasterChef Australia 2025, told Chattr that the contestants on the current season had such distinct styles that a blind taste test by the judges wouldn’t have removed any ambiguity.

“I think that blind taste testing would not have mattered from probably around top eight in this competition, in particular last night, if you didn’t say whose dish was whose, I guarantee that you could still tell whose dishes, because we all cook differently,” he explained.

Jamie added that the differences between the contestants’ cooking styles started to shine towards the end of the competition.

“I think that’s probably one of the things in this Back to Win competition that I really started to notice, and it’s when I started to put my foot down. Around that top eight mark was when people [started to] try to say something with their cooking, and they cook within their own style, and they just ended up cooking better.”

Jamie breaks down the differences in his, Laura’s and Callum’s cooking styles

By the time the MasterChef Australia 2025 semi-final rolled around, it was plain to see that all three contestants generally took a different approach to their dish choices.

Jamie pushed himself but generally focussed on making the food he chose to a very high standard. Callum tended to try outlandish dishes, while Laura often incorporated native elements into her dishes. Jamie broke down the difference between the way they approach their decisions.

“Laura’s dishes are unmistakably Laura’s dishes, likewise Callum’s. And I think by the end of it, likewise mine,” he said.

“I was very concentrated on limited things on the plate, and just concentrated on doing them really well and succinctly. Callum is all about getting as many weird combos and chucking as much technique at the plate as possible. And Laura is so dedicated to just beautiful flavour combinations that rely and showcase a lot of her technique with a Japanese background and the native background, and obviously her Italian heritage.”

For this reason, Jamie added that “the blind tasting would be completely irrelevant.”

“I guarantee you that if the judges were blind in any of last three or four weeks of television, they could tell you exactly who cooked what.”

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MasterChef’s Jamie reveals if he’s proposed to his girlfriend yet — and dishes on the Greece holiday

Jamie Fleming might have narrowly missed out on making the MasterChef Australia 2025 grand finale, but he didn’t walk away from the competition empty-handed after securing a $10,000 travel prize.

During Episode 55, Jamie, Laura Sharrad, Callum Han and Depinder Chhibbber competed in a mystery ingredient challenge, with a $10,000 travel prize voucher on the line.

The challenge involved contestants picking a hidden ingredient that was inspired by one of the judges’ overseas travels. Jamie opted for Sofia Levine‘s Greek Island cloche, which contained squid ink, and he made Charred Octopus with Squid ink Lentils, a Squid ink reduction and hot Potato Foam.

During the cook, Jamie told the judges that if he wins, he’d take his partner Clare to the Greek Islands after their previous travel plans were quashed by COVID, and said that he planned to pop the question to her while there.

As we all know, Jamie won the challenge, so does he have a fiancée now?

He told Chattr that he hasn’t proposed to Clare yet, but hinted that it may not be far away.

“We will be using the travel voucher. [The proposal] hasn’t been done yet, but who knows? We will definitely announce if and when it happens,” he said.

“It’s been something we’ve been talking about for a long time, but we’re just enjoying each other, enjoying being back with each other at the moment and enjoying some family time, and we’ve been enjoying watching the show along with everybody else,” he added.

Jamie reveals how he will use the $10,000 travel voucher

While Jamie hasn’t had a chance to use the travel voucher yet, he said he has big plans for it, and going to Greece will be just the beginning.

“Greece is absolutely on the cards for the travel voucher,” he told Chattr. “I think that utilising that travel to put us in that part of the world, and then extending from there.

“There are so many trips that we sort of missed out on over the years because of this, that and everything else. There are a lot of friends that we haven’t seen in a long time. There are a lot of wine labels that we work closely with that have been inviting us for ages, so just getting over there.”

Jamie added that he was so grateful that the prize was a voucher, so he and Clare had no choice but to take a well-deserved vacation.

“The secondary thing is it’s a forced holiday. It’s not like, if that was just cash, we would say we’d go on holiday [but ] then utilise it to help us with something within business. So this way, it’s actually forcing us to take some time for ourselves and go enjoy the fruits of our labour.”

We’ll be waiting for that engagement announcement on Instagram!

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Now that Adrian Portelli has stepped down from buying all The Block houses in one fell swoop, a new Aussie moneybags will have to step up to try their hand, with all listings for this season sitting above the $3,000,000 mark.

Domain is currently hosting all the listings, giving potential buyers and fans a closer look at the beautifully renovated homes.

House Four: Sonny and Alicia

Season risk-takers Sonny and Alicia love a pop of colour in the bedrooms, and have the only house that features external brick, setting them apart from the other Block houses. Will that boost their lot higher when it comes to bidding? So far, their place is also listed at the $3,000,000 to $3,300,000 price range.

House five: Robby and Mat

They may not be the most experienced renovators this season, but what they lack in experience, Robby and Mat make up for in enthusiasm (and wine cellars). Their corner block with great viewpoints could also snag the duo anywhere between $3,000,000 to $3,300,000.

Leaked Home and Away video reveals major Kiwi star set to join the show

There has been a mass exodus of Home and Away cast leaving the show in 2025, but there’s some good news — fresh characters are on the way! Due to the way the soap works, cast often receive a three-year contract before moving on to other projects. While it seems Lynne McGranger, Matt Evans, and Juliet Godwin have said goodbye, Summer Bay could be bringing in a very famous star from New Zealand.

Home and Away films about five to six months in advance, so superfans can rock up on set out at Palm Beach to see what’s coming up next. A video, taken by Home and Away tour company CelebTime, recently showed a scene involving a brunette actress alongside Jessica Redmayne and Ethan Browne.

One fan identified the actor as Sara Wiseman, known for her roles on Mercy Peak, The Cult, A Place To Call Home, and most recently, on Netflix’s Territory. She was married to actor Craig Hall for sixteen years prior to their split in 2023, and has been open about being queer and bisexual.

“Looks like Sara Wiseman joins the cast,” one person wrote in a popular Home and Away Facebook fan group.

“Her character name [is] not confirmed yet, and not sure if she [is] a regular or a guest,” another added.

Fans quickly speculated about what Sara’s character would be, with some wondering if she would take Bree’s place in healthcare.

“Wonder what role she is playing? Perhaps something in welfare or health seeing as she’s with Harper,” one person guessed.

“Maybe she is the new doctor,” another said.

“Maybe Harper and Dana’s mum? Just a guess,” a third added.

“Hope she catches Tane’s eye, I don’t think Jo is right for him,” another wrote.

Home and Away fan spills details about Sara Wiseman

One Home and Away fan had a special encounter with Sara Wiseman on a previous production, and recounted her experience on social media.

“She is so lovely! Mercy Peak was filming at The Mad Butchers’ Sausage factory here in New Zealand many years ago, and she showed my sister and I to the lollies on set,” the fan wrote.

“My dad worked at the factory and we were with him whilst filming was happening. She was just so down to earth and kind. I was a young girl so I was blown away by an actress [being] ‘normal’. She hardly has aged, so beautiful.”

Seeing as the show films approximately five to six months in advance, we should see Sara appear on Aussie screens around February 2026.

Home and Away airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

The Voice Australia 2025: Fans divided over new coaches: ‘Ruining the experience’

The Voice Australia is back for another season of chair turns, and there are three new faces on the coaching panel, with Kate Miller-Heidke being the only Aussie putting on her coaching hat for this season.

Kate is joined by Spice Girl Melanie C, critically acclaimed US producer Richard Marx, and Irish singer Ronan Keating is back after a hiatus, ready to try his luck again in the big red chair.

The new season premiered Sunday night, and already the coaches have been blown away by some big voices, with Richard and Kate managing to win over the majority of last night’s performers to join their respective teams.

The Voice fans’ mixed reactions to new judges: ‘When will it become about competing artists?’

While there was no disputing the talent on last night’s episode of The Voice, fans were left less than impressed with the amount of airtime the coaches got, with some calling out specific coaches.

“[The] two male judges in their own competition to see who can name drop the most,” one person complained about Ronan and Richard. “Then [they] talk about their own careers and how many success stories they can brag about. When will it become about the competing artists instead of the judges?”

“I watch this show for the singers, not the judges’ egos,” someone else said, with another adding, “Some great talent so far, but the chitchat is ruining the experience.”

Other fans however, were excited to see a fresh new lineup of coaches. “I am excited as I think this is one of the best lineup of judges for years,” one person said on Facebook. “Last night was AWESOME, the judges will certainly give this year a very competitive edge,” another enthused.

The Voice’s Charlie O’Derry captures the hearts of Australia

One standout of the night was 19-year-old Charlie O’Derry, who moved the audience and coaches to tears with his rendition of Djo’s ‘End Of The Beginning’. The talented teen dedicated the song to his father Jeff, who has suffered from a traumatic brain injury.

The coaches described it as “breathtaking” and “heartbreakingly beautiful” and Charlie also won over the hearts of Aussies watching. “That had me crying on my couch,” one person commented on Instagram, while another took to Facebook, saying, “I bawled my eyes out, what a brave boy.”

Another fan went on to call it one of “the best performances in a long time”.

The Voice Australia continues 7:30pm, Monday and Tuesday on Channel Seven and 7plus.

FBoy Island cancelled: A sad day for reality TV and untrustworthy men

Say it ain’t so! After two glorious seasons of bombshells, betrayals and beachside revelations, FBoy Island Australia is officially no more. Binge has pulled the plug on a third season, and if you listen closely… You can probably hear the distant cries of every reality TV lover who just wanted one more dramatic FBoy reveal.

A Foxtel Group spokesperson confirmed the news to Mumbrella, saying:

“We won’t be commissioning a third season of FBoy Island Australia for Binge.”

We’re not crying. You’re crying.

So much sass, so much satire

With its free-flowing satire, FBoy Island Australia was always a little unconventional when it came to dating reality TV—and that extended to its casting process, too. Forget boring application forms. In true FBoy fashion, potential contestants were invited to literally slide into the show’s DMs.

“Ladies, FBoy’s & Nice Guys – DM us your contact details if you would like to find love (or money) on the island!” read the show’s Instagram caption. “If you know someone else who would be a great fit, tag them in the comments!!”

Yes, the same way you shoot your shot on Tinder was how you applied to be on national TV. And honestly? Iconic.

There were real plans brewing for Season 3. New FBoys. New heartbreaks. New 50K dilemmas. But then… everything went quiet. And now, here we are, mourning the cancellation of a show that was never afraid to make fun of itself—or the entire dating genre.

The FBoy Island 2024 leads. Image: Binge.

Where Are the FBoy Island Stars Now?

Some of our favourite reality lovebirds are still out there doing the most:

  • Molly and Nick from Season 1 are still together and going strong. They’ve moved in together, conquered the post-reality TV world, and are now reportedly hunting for a house. From FBoy drama to domestic bliss? Love that for them.
  • Krystal and Paddy, who turned heads in Season 2, sadly split after filming. Krystal later said she felt “blindsided.” But we still stan her for delivering some of the season’s most iconic one-liners and podcast-worthy tea. Check out her It’s A Lot interview here.
  • Nicole and Jack, and Ally and Joe? Surprisingly, still coupled up. Which is more than we can say for some MAFS marriages, tbh.

Speaking of MAFS, remember Dave from the 2025 season? Yeah, the one who applied to FBoy Island while he had a secret fiancée. That scandal deserves its own reality show.

Abbie Chatfield was our queen and chaos Leader

No host was better suited to this show than Abbie Chatfield. The ex-Bachelor runner-up brought razor-sharp commentary, feminist flair, and a whole lot of chaotic energy to every episode. From calling out toxic behaviours to throwing shade like a pro, Abbie elevated FBoy Island into must-watch TV.

FBoy Island host Abbie Chatfield
Abbie Chatfield. Image: Binge.

Beyond the island, she’s been everywhere—from The Masked Singer to launching a beer brand, her Verbose fashion line, and that podcast you’re definitely already subscribed to. She’s also stayed in the headlines lately for beefing with Sydney Sweeney stans, MAFS castmates, and even feminist icons. Catch up here, here, and here.

She called FBoy Island her dream job, and honestly, we get it.

Why did Fboy Island get cancelled? Let’s talk

While Binge never released official viewing numbers—because #streaminglife—FBoy Island had a loyal cult following, trended regularly on socials, and inspired podcast debates across the country.

But timing is everything, and the show’s fate might’ve been sealed by Foxtel Group’s recent sale to international streaming giant DAZN. The $3.4 billion deal likely shifted internal priorities, with new decision-makers, new strategies, and less room for shows that don’t have blockbuster metrics (even if they do have FBoys hiding behind emotional walls).

Also worth noting: FBoy Island was the only Aussie reality dating show exclusively behind a paywall. That meant you had to subscribe to Binge to watch it—which may have limited its reach compared to the free-to-air powerhouses like MAFS and The Bachelor.

Still, it made a splash. And honestly? We’ll take two unforgettable seasons over none.

So here we are—mourning the loss of a show that made us laugh, gasp, and scream “Nooo, he’s totally an FBoy!” at our TVs. But also celebrating what it gave us: epic finales, chaotic casting, strong female leads, and a host who absolutely understood the assignment.

Both seasons of FBoy Island Australia are still available to stream on Binge via Hubbl. Rewatch them. Relive the drama. Tag your friend who would’ve been perfect for Season 3. And never forget: love might be temporary, but FBoy memes? They’re forever.

Did Stranded On Honeymoon Island’s Jess slide into Emanuel’s DMs after the show?

Relationship coach Jess had a tough time on Stranded On Honeymoon Island, after dealing with her on-screen husband’s anger and jealousy.

In the end, the couple decided to part ways at the final decision, with Jess telling Sam he “fumbled the bag”.

With all the drama around these two — including Sam being jealous of Jess’ instant attraction to Emanuel — did Jess consider sliding into anybody else’s DMs after the show wrapped?

“After filming, I wished I was matched with literally anybody else on the cast other than Sam. I mentally re-matched us all repeatedly. But in reality, no, [I didn’t pursue anything romantically],” Jess tells Chattr.

“There was definitely no sliding [in DMs]! We all had each other’s numbers and were in touch after the show. Everyone was trying to decompress and support each other through a pretty intense experience. Emanuel and I chatted in the same way — I think both of us were processing a lot at the time.

“Since then we’ve both healed and moved on.”

Jess responds to dating and relationship coach criticism

It was tough to watch Jess stuck in a toxic relationship on Stranded On Honeymoon Island, and her professional role as a dating and relationship coach has come under fire from viewers.

However, her ability to embrace her “own mistakes and messiness” might just be what makes her a “relatable” dating coach.

“As a dating coach, I’m not immune to difficult relationships — I’m human first. I’ve always shared my own mistakes and messiness openly, because that’s where real growth and relatable truth live,” she says.

“Before Stranded On Honeymoon Island, I’d been happily single for a long time, but I was quietly starting to open up to the idea of love. It was a challenge to approach the experience with vulnerability and remain open to connection.”

Sam wasn’t Jess’ top pick, and she didn’t have any control over who she ended up on the island with, yet she still gave her all to the experiment. Isn’t that what the show is all about?

“I did choose to stay open and give it a real shot. I wasn’t unaware; I was observing. I paid close attention to our dynamic and to the small behavioural inconsistencies — of which there were many,” she recalls. “I leaned far too into optimism — and although it may not have all made the edit, I often guided our conversations toward rationality and neutrality.”

She’s “proud” that she ended up putting herself first in the end, and says it’s made her better when it comes to relationships.

“Recognising the misalignment, setting boundaries, and walking away, wasn’t a failure. It was a reflection of the self-worth and self-trust I help others build,” she explains. “Now, I know what I need, and what I won’t compromise on — and I’m proud that I chose myself in the end.”

Big Brother’s Tully shares tips for getting cast on the 2025 season

Two-time Big Brother Australia contestant Tully Smyth is one of the most iconic players, alongside winner Reggie Bird and Tim Dormer. She made a splash in 2013 when she started up a romance with Anthony Drew while in the house, and re-entered in 2022 on Big Brother: Royalty v New Blood.

She tells Chattr she has no regrets about choosing to go into the house in 2013, but admits she does sometimes have “embarrassing flashbacks” she “think[s] about at 2am”.

“I’m a firm believer that every chaotic decision has led me to exactly where I am now — and honestly, life’s pretty great. Do I wish I had the maturity, self-awareness, and impulse control in 2013 that I have now? Absolutely. But I also learned a LOT (mainly that national TV is not the place to process your emotions in real time,” Tully explains.

As for her second competition in 2022, there’s only one thing she would do differently. “My only regret is trusting Tim and Drew… again. You’d think I’d learn!” she jokes. “But I had a ball, played the game how I wanted to, and walked away proud of how I handled myself — mostly.”

The podcast host recently took to Instagram to share her top tips for those submitting a casting application — which you can do on Channel 10’s website — and there’s some great advice for all those budding reality TV stars out there.

Tully encourages potential contestants to know their own story, and emphasises that producers are looking for “characters” and “people with a point of view, a lived experience, or a big personality”. Leave your “audition gimmicks” at home, and be prepared to be “unfiltered but self-aware”.

The former Big Brother Australia contestant believes producers want “polarising” housemates, so if you don’t have a thick skin, this might not be for you. “Can you handle being talked about? Can you back yourself under pressure? Be willing to take up space — even if it makes some people uncomfortable,” she writes.

Lastly, Tully shared a warning to those wanting to jump headfirst into the pressure cooker of Big Brother. “Do you love your job? Your partner? Your privacy? Your reputation? Because these are all things that could be put at risk by appearing on a reality TV show like Big Brother. You’re being filmed 24/7, all it takes is one mistake, one throwaway line… and the public could turn on you,” she says.

Tully reveals what contestants need to know before entering the Big Brother house

Tully has played both Channel Seven and Channel Nine’s Big Brother Australia versions, so she’s experienced it all. While it’s a bit of a mission to get cast, the real journey starts when you lock yourself in a house with strangers and agree to be filmed 24 hours a day.

“Your life will never be the same — in 101 weird and wonderful ways. Some changes will be big (like strangers knowing intimate details about your dating history), and some will be small (like never being able to look at a hidden camera the same way again),” the content creator spills.

And for those studying up on Big Brother Australia strategies? Forget it.

“Please, for the love of Big Brother… be yourself. These days, everyone walks in with a ‘strategy’ they’ve borrowed from five different reality formats and a TikTok thinkpiece. But the public — and your housemates — will sniff out a fake faster than Sonia [Kruger] can say, ‘It’s time to go…’. Just show up as the hot mess, people-pleaser, villain, or wildcard you truly are. That’s the stuff people connect with,” she says.

Big Brother Australia is likely to start airing in November 2025, and we can’t wait! It’s going to be a wild ride.

MAFS’ Jamie spills details about Cara Delevingne sliding into her DMs: ‘A real girls’ girl’

Fan-favourite Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 bride Jamie Marinos was shocked to unearth a DM on Instagram from Hollywood star and model Cara Delevingne, who has celeb friends like Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.

Contestants are required to hand over control of their social media accounts to Channel Nine while the show is airing, and Jamie tells Chattr her inbox was inundated with messages.

“When you get your account back, you don’t really know who’s followed you that’s famous, unless someone tells you, because you miss all these notifications when people first follow you,” Jamie explains.

“I always make an effort to go through my message requests, and it’s a f**king impossible task sometimes. But I happened to see Cara’s message, like maybe over a month after having my account, and I remember being like, ‘How did I miss that she’s following me?'”

Jamie couldn’t believe Cara had taken the time to message her, but was grateful for the star’s support after what she had gone through with Dave Hand on MAFS.

“It was so lovely of her to message, obviously she was being like a real girls’ girl there, just to send a supporting message and make me feel great in that moment. I really respect Cara for reaching out, even though she’s obviously someone who is so huge, and she reached out to little old me, who went and married a stranger.”

Has anyone else slid into Jamie’s DMs after MAFS?

Just like Jacob Elordi complimenting Carina Mirabile on her outfit at a Sydney premiere, it seems Jamie is on the celebrity radar as well! She tells Chattr that no other celebrity on Cara’s level has reached out, but there are influencers she has followed for a while who have now followed her back.

“I love my girls, I’m just patiently waiting for Indy Clinton to notice me,” she says.

Her DMs can get pretty clogged up at times, so fingers crossed Jamie hasn’t missed any other important messages. “It’s so wild, it depends on how active I am on stories, because then it can be 100s [of messages]. I’ve had stories where I had over 1000 replies to a singular story,” she spills.

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan recently visited the MAFS apartments in Sydney and called them a “cultural monument”, so perhaps she’ll be linking up with Jamie next.

Everyone who left Dancing With The Stars Australia 2025

Dancing With The Stars 2025 was a huge success, as 12 celebrities competed for the coveted glittering Mirrorball Trophy. While there was no cash prize for the winner, the celebrity who came out on top got something much more important — bragging rights.

Hosts Sonia Kruger and Dr Chris Brown returned to soak in all the glitz and glamour. Judges Sharna Burgess, Mark Wilson, Craig Revel Horwood and Helen Richey handed out scores for the best cha-cha-cha.

The 12 celebrities were matched with professional dancers, and we had to say goodbye to the pair with the lowest scores each week.

Here’s who was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars 2025.

Shaun Micallef

Shaun Micallef just missed out on the trophy — but he brought an old-school ballroom charm to the floor for his final Broadway number, complete with a dash of charisma and a cane for flair. Judge Mark said he could picture Shaun dancing at the Princess Theatre, while Judge Helena admitted that, while he might not be the best dancer, he’s without a doubt the best entertainer. He wrapped up his DWTS season with a final score of 37.

Trent Cotchin

Trent and Jess Grand Final

Trent Cotchin might have won every footy grand final he’s been in, but this time the grand final trophy wasn’t his. Still, his last freestyle was a knockout — a routine that took the audience through every emotion and was nothing short of extraordinary. Judge Mark declared it his “best and finest moment yet” in the competition, with Trent earning a well-deserved 35 points.

Brittany Hockley

Brittany and Craig Grand Final

Brittany Hockley was 2nd to be eliminated in the Grand Final however her final dance was pure elegance — a ballroom routine that captured her grace, beauty, and strength, with a touching personal tribute. Both of Brittany’s sisters wear hearing aids, and her dance partner Craig is deaf in one ear, so she ended the performance with a heartfelt sign that tied it all together. Judge Sharna gushed that she’s loved watching Brittany dance all season, praising how she’s truly transformed into a dancer. She closed out her DWTS journey with a final score of 32.

Felicity Ward

Felicity and Aric Grand Final

Felicity Ward hit the grand final floor with a freestyle that was all her — fun, freedom, and pure joy in every step. Judge Sharna admitted she gets emotional watching Felicity dance because she can feel just how much it means to her, and that connection is undeniable. And while the friendship she’s formed with partner Aric is already a win in her eyes, she closed out the season with a grand total score of 33.

Michael Usher

Michael and Natalie Grand Final

Michael Usher was genuinely shocked to make it all the way to the grand final of Dancing With the Stars Australia 2025 — and who could blame him? For his final freestyle, he went full showman with a heart-pumping routine to The Greatest Showman. Judge Helen Richey admitted she was won over right from his very first dance, the Foxtrot, and even mused that “it’ll be very tight” tonight.

Michael’s final score was a grand total of 28 points.

Mia Fevola

Mia Fevola’s time on DWTS ended in episode 8, despite receiving the second-highest score from the judges. However, when that was combined with the audience vote, Mia and Gustavo received the lowest score, and were subsequently sent home.

That meant that Shaun Micallef and Ash-Leigh Hunter, Aric Yegudkin and Felicity Ward and Kyle Shilling and Lily Cornish were sent through to the grand final.

Harry Garside

Harry Garside Eliminted In The Semi Final

Olympian and all-round Aussie legend Harry Garside has officially twirled out of Dancing With The Stars 2025, and heartbreakingly, just before the grand finale.

Harry gave it everything in the semi-final with an electrifying ‘Mad Max’-inspired tango alongside dance partner Siobhan Power. Fierce costume? Tick. Full commitment? Tick. But sadly, the routine didn’t quite stick the landing.

Judge Sharna admitted it was a tough draw. “Some dances just don’t suit us as much as others,” she said. While she’s usually captivated by Harry’s performances, this one didn’t quite click. Helen chimed in with praise though: “Your enthusiasm is infectious, and we just love you.”

Despite scoring 20 points, Harry was pipped by Michael Usher, who only scored 19, but with the studio audience vote twist, Michael danced on and Harry got the boot.

Osher Günsberg

Beloved Bachelor host Osher Günsberg has done his last cha-cha-cha on the dance floor. The enthusiastic dancer tried his best with a complicated tango set to David Bowie‘s ‘Fashion’ with partner Sriani Argaet, but judge Craig Revel Horwood described it as a “right royal mess”.

However, Osher clapped back at the judge, saying he wanted to take a “big risk”.

“Would you like to try going down that perspex ramp in those heels, sir? You are more than welcome to show me how to do it. But I need you to be doing it in a tango step while the person next to you is on one foot and you’re holding them,” Osher said. “Where’s the fun in trying something that’s not really risky?”

Sadly, Osher’s risk didn’t pay off, and Craig awarded him a 2. It was a bit harsh, but that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Rebecca Gibney

Rebecca Gibney was the third celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars 2025. The Logie-winning actress danced a paso doble to Whitney Houston’s Queen of the Night with her partner Ian Waite and received a score of 28 points.

Paired with her earlier scores, Rebecca was safe from elimination and Harry Garside was at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 25. However, a twist came into play that saw a studio audience vote combined with the judges’ scores. The new approach saw Harry pushed up the leaderboard, and Rebecca was sent home.

Karina Carvalho

Sadly, in round two, it was Karina Carvalho and partner Andrey Gorbunov who bid farewell to the ballroom. Despite improving in leaps and bounds from round one, their stiff Cha Cha placed second-last in the judges’ scoring. Osher Günsberg was scored last, but, sadly, in the elimination, the audience decided that Karina and Andrey would shimmy and shake no more.

“It’s been such a thrill. We’ve had so much fun training,” Karina told hosts Sonia Kruger and Dr. Chris Brown. The newsreader couldn’t sing higher praise of her dance partner. “Andrey is not just a fantastic, highly qualified dancer, he’s such a great teacher and he’s so patient, and he’s put together the most beautiful choreography for us,” said Karina.

After both dancers thanked the audience, it was Andrey’s turn to gush about Karina. “Under her newsreader persona, she’s very fun and a good person, and I think she did great.”

Susie O’Neill

Susie O’Neill and Lyu Masuda’s round one tango didn’t go down well with the judges, and her score of 13 was the writing on the wall. Sadly, this is the second year in a row Lyu has been sent home first! Harry Garside and Siobhan Power narrowly avoided elimination, so they could potentially be next.

Susie said it was “really hard” to pull on her dancing shoes, but she seemed grateful for the experience. “I’ve never cried so much, honestly, but in a good way,” she said. “The stuff Lyu and I have learnt over time, it has been amazing. But it’s been a tough journey.”

Lyu was really encouraging and had a lot of love for Susie. “The change I’ve seen in Susie, even from day one, where she couldn’t even touch me, to now, she walks into the studio and has her chest held up high. She’s walking like a dancer,” Lyu said.

Sonia said Susie has brought “so much joy” to viewers around the country, so it’s sad to see them go.

Home and Away leaked photos reveal cliffhanger spoilers: ‘Biggest shoot in history’

The Home and Away end-of-year cliffhanger is always kept top secret, but some cast sightings and leaked photos have recently revealed massive spoilers for 2025. The show takes a break over the Christmas period, so a juicy storyline is needed to keep viewers on the hook for 2026 — and it sounds like the final episode of Home and Away for the year will do just that.

According to some clues, it appears some main characters will be involved in a train crash storyline. We’ve seen many car crashes, a plane crash, and even a boat accident in previous years, so it’s about time a train got involved.

The Home and Away crew were seen filming out on location in New South Wales’ Cowra at the end of July, with one eyewitness meeting Emily Weir (Mackenzie), James Stewart (Justin Morgan), Ryan Bown (Sonny Baldwin), Sophea Pennington (Lacey Miller), Adam Rowland (Remy Carter) and Hailey Pinto (Abigail Fowler) during a lunch break.

“All the filming was done on the train, they left the station for approx three hours at a time,” she wrote on a Facebook fan group. “We didn’t see any filming, just caught them at their lunch break.”

An Instagram Story post from Hailey was also identified as being taken at the Cowra Railway Station, and a photo Adam shared was likely taken from a Cowra lookout.

Nicholas Cartwright (Cash Newman), Ethan Browne (Tane Parata) and Ryan were also seen filming in Carcoar.

Why do fans believe the Home and Away cliffhanger will be a train crash?

There’s strong evidence pointing towards a train crash, as one eyewitness claimed to spot Home and Away cast members with “pretend cuts on their faces” at the train station.

“They have been filming in Cowra for the cliffhanger, and I am just going by some photos and what [has] been said that they have been seen filming on a train and around the train station. Wonder if there is going to be a train crash?” one fan theorised on a Facebook group.

“So far they have been seen filming on the train tracks and around the train station.”

An insider told a viewer the finale is “the biggest shoot they have done in Home and Away history”, which would line up perfectly with a massive train collision. The only question is — who will survive?

Home and Away airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island’s Georgia opens up about split with Chad: ‘Childish behaviour’

Chad and Georgia appeared to be the golden couple of Stranded on Honeymoon Island; they grew close during their time on the remote Fijian island, and exchanged ‘I love yous’ during the finale.

However, the couple split shortly after the finale was filmed, with Georgia telling Chattr that Chad broke up with her in a message.

“Chad and I are not together anymore,” she said. “Three weeks after he told me he loved me at the Commitment Ceremony, he friend-zoned me and dumped me via text message.”

She added that she doesn’t speak to Chad “after his childish behaviour”.

“He ghosted me for four days, then dumped me via a string of text messages. He said to me that he just sees more of a friendship in this, even though three weeks prior, he cried and told me that he loved me at the Commitment Ceremony.”

The Commitment Ceremony between Georgia and Chad was an emotional one, with Chad going into detail about being a carer for his disabled sister and said she had an “out” if she wanted it. But, Georgia reassured Chad that she wanted to be with him.

Despite the vulnerable exchange between the couple, Georgia told Chattr that Chad didn’t introduce her to his family after they arrived back in Melbourne.

“He also never introduced me to his sister or his mum in these three weeks we were together (when we returned back from the island). This was not Chad that I had fallen in love with on the island and I started to question everything.”

Georgia added that she believes that Chad was on the show to get exposure, not to find love.

“It was very hurtful at the time and it made me question his motives for going on the show. Yes, I do think it was a bit of an act for TV because the person I went home with was a different person to the person who was on the island.”

Georgia has found love since Stranded on Honeymoon Island

While Georgia didn’t find her happy ending on Stranded on Honeymoon Island, she did find it after filming the show.

“I am in a relationship with a wonderful man now, which I will be revealing all in good time,” she told Chattr.

She added that she doesn’t have any regrets, because all of her actions led her to meeting her now-boyfriend.

“I do believe everything happens for a reason and having Chad end the relationship led me to meeting the man of dreams. So thank you Chad.”

Depinder reveals the strengths and weaknesses of MasterChef Australia’s top three

Depinder Chhibber was eliminated from MasterChef Australia 2025 during the August 4 episode, paving the way for Laura Sharrad, Callum Hann, and Jamie Fleming to secure their spots in the top three.

In a post-elimination interview, Depinder told Chattr that all three contestants are “tremendous cooks,” and broke down Laura, Callum and Jamie’s strengths and weaknesses ahead of the MasterChef Australia grand finale.

“Laura’s biggest strength is a powerhouse Italian cuisine, and she’s got that restaurant experience. She comes from many, many years of experience [cooking] with Australian natives. So I think that is definitely her strength,” Depinder said.

“I don’t know if she has any weaknesses at this point in time, but I think it’s really easy to get carried away with confidence sometimes, because you may think this is the third time in the semi-final and that kind of stuff, but I think she’ll be right. I think she knows how to keep herself in check.”

Depinder went on to only list an advantage for Callum, noting that he’s very experienced at working with a wide range of ingredients.

“Callum is very versatile with his cuisine and with his multiple-element dishes, where he’s got like 10 or more elements. So I think he’s got that advantage. He gets a lot done. He’s very quick, and he works smart, which is what you need at this point,” she said.

Finally, Depinder said that Jamie’s strength could also become a disadvantage if he pushes himself to be too creative.

“Jamie, I think, is really, really talented. I think his strength would be his [innovation]. There’s his classic style of cooking, he’s got a classic style where he imparts a lot of smoke into a protein, and he’s got beautiful side dishes to complement those things. But, he thinks outside of the box more, I think more than Laura and Callum, but that could also be a disadvantage at this point in the competition.”

Depinder added that she was flattered to be cooking alongside the three talented contestants.

When is the MasterChef Australia grand finale?

There’s no official grand finale date for MasterChef Australia just yet. However, with just three contestants remaining, it looks as though it will air on Tuesday, August 12, as Survivor Australia v The World will premiere on Sunday, August 17.

Previews for MasterChef Australia 2025 show that the final episodes will involve an episode where contestants will cook against the judges and the infamous finale service challenge.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
