The newest I’m a Celebrity Australia contestants have been forging strong bonds in the jungle, but with eliminations looming, some stars will soon be sent packing.

So far, the thirteen celebrities have tackled multiple gruelling, insect-filled challenges, endured stomach-turning Tucker Trials, and formed some genuine friendships. But, like every year, the campmates will be eliminated one by one until only one remains — crowned the King or Queen of the Jungle and taking home a cash prize for their chosen charity.

This year, however, things are a little different — unlike previous seasons, the celebrities won’t be voted out by the public, as the show isn’t filmed live. Instead, Cyrell hinted to Chattr that the contestants could be voting each other out, Survivor-style.

“A huge divide does happen when eliminations start happening, especially when you start realising that there’s a chance that you’d have to nominate one another,” she explained.

“I think the show kind of gets into a bit of Survivor mode, and if you’re not very favoured, or if you weren’t liked, you could be up and chosen because people really, definitely had their own groups.”

Cyrell teased that there will be a dramatic nomination twist when it comes to the eliminations.

“I can’t tell you how the eliminations work, but they do it to be fair, in the sense of picking how the people are selected and who they vote for is what really triggers people,” she said.

Cyrell added that she would have “preferred the public voting” because there are “people that had closer cliques and bonds with other people.”

Who left I’m a Celebrity Australia 2026?

Barry Williams

Barry Williams faced off against Rebekah Elmaloglou in a Survivor reminiscent time-dependent challenge, which saw them put balls down a pipe with the aim of landing the ball in the back of a small boat that constantly circled.

Rebecca was the first to land five balls, meaning that the Brady Bunch star was sent packing. In a post-elimination interview, the Barry star said he was disappointed to leave because he was having such a good time.

“I liked it. I liked the challenge. I liked the competition of it. I enjoyed the people, and I wanted to extend it. I was grateful,” he told Chattr.

Matt Zukowski

Matt Zukowski was the second contestant eliminated from I’m a Celebrity Australia 2026. He lost to Dyson Heppell and Luke Bateman in the Elephant’s Graveyard challenge, which was a jungle version of a classic skill game using sticks and rocks.

In Matt’s exit interview, he spoke about the charity he was playing for, R U OK?, revealing that he’s struggled with his own mental health issues.

“I was having difficulty; it was just someone asking me, ‘Are you OK?’” he told host Robert and Julia.

“I feel like that being open actually helped me heal a lot. And a lot of people in there gave me a lot of advice.”

Rachel Hunter

Fan favourite Rachel Hunter was the very first celebrity eliminated from I‘m a Celebrity Australia 2026. She and Matt Zukowski went head-to-head at the Elephant’s Graveyard in an elimination challenge, which was basically a game of bluff.

As Matt correctly called out Rachel’s bluffs, and managed to trick her into believing him, he won the game, and she was eliminated. However, Rachel was extremely gracious, telling Matt, “Do not be sorry for something you have beautiful intuition on … and don’t be sorry when you go back in there.”

Deni Hines

Deni Hines was the first celebrity to depart the jungle, making the decision to self-eliminate after struggling with the intensity of being around others at all times.

After Deni’s team lost the green versus yellow challenge, she made the decision to leave.

“It’s got nothing to do with you at all. I love all of you dearly, but I have decided to go home,” she told her campmates. Later adding, “when it’s not enjoyable anymore, it’s time to go home.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Australia 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 10 and 10Play.
