MAFS 2026 couples

We aren’t yet in the thick of Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026, with the show having only just kicked off. Nevertheless, we’ve already seen our fair share of sparks flying, drama exploding, and relationships being pushed to the brink.

From self-proclaimed “power couple” Gia and Scott to the ongoing tragedy that is Mel and Luke, here’s your complete rundown of which of our chaotic pairings could go down in history as one of MAFS‘ fated success stories, and which have almost definitely gone down in flames.

Gia Fleur and Scott McCristal

Gia Fleur has already been dubbed one of MAFS’ wildest brides, and it’s easy to see why. With a colourful past in modelling and acting, including being pictured with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion, she’s no stranger to the spotlight.

She was matched with Gold Coast businessman Scott McCristal, who’s been labelled this year’s “clout chaser groom,” and with rumours swirling that he is on the show for the wrong reasons. Nonetheless, experts thought this match was made in heaven, and the pair tied the knot in a beautiful, romantic ceremony on Maroubra Beach in Sydney.

But the real question is, did Gia and Scott make it to the end of the experiment, and are they still together?

According to our sources, one of the season’s so-called “stronger” couples has since split. While they reportedly made it far in the experiment, insiders claim the relationship lasted as long as it did because he allegedly strung her along to secure more airtime.

“He only talks to one person from the show now, and at the last Dinner Party, he said he was too good for everyone and that they’re beneath him,” our source spills. “He said to his wife on camera that she wasn’t his calibre,” a source said. You can find out more detail about whether Gia and Scott are still together here.

Verdict: Not together.

Brook Crompton and Chris Nield

Chris Nield has already been labelled this year’s “biggest sceptic,” with opinions as questionable as his fatphobic comments. He was paired with Brook Crompton, who appeared to be everything he’d wished for.

But after Brook waltzed down the aisle to meet her groom, things were doomed from the start. She was open to getting to know Chris until she saw his audition tape, where his three red flags were listed as: “Fake tan, needy, and fat people.”

Despite this, the pair seemed to connect, with a hint of romantic spark. At the first commitment ceremony, Chris admitted, “Very pessimistic, but I’ve been proven wrong,” after initially saying there was a 0.000001% chance of the relationship working.

However, it didn’t last. In a recent interview with Chattr, Brook revealed she had ended a serious relationship shortly before filming, and while she gave Chris a chance, it wasn’t meant to be.

She’s now happily with a “beautiful non-fat shaming man” and has confirmed she is pregnant with her ex, Harry and happily engaged.

Verdict: Not together.

Rachel Gilmore and Steven Danyluk

Rachel Gilmore and Steven Danyluk seemed like a promising match from day one, with the pair having a lot in common: they’re both in their mid-thirties, chronically single, and fed up with the superficiality of dating apps.

Both are looking for partners who accept them for who they are. Having been in a toxic situationship, Rachel says she’s looking for a man who is proud to be with her. Steven, similarly, wants someone who is low-key and willing to take him for who he is. It’s a match, basically, that looks really good on paper.

However, things have recently taken a turn for the couple, with Steven admitting that he didn’t feel a spark with Rachel. On top of that, clues suggest that the couple are no longer an item, with the host of the MAFS Funny podcast, Josh Fox, saying that while keeping an eye on the couples coming in and out of the apartments they’d all moved into, he didn’t see Rachel and Steven once.

“I’m just going to call it now and say I’m fairly sure they are one of, if not the first couple to leave,” he said.

Verdict: Unlikely.

Alissa Fay and David Momoh

From their wedding ceremony, it seemed like Alissa Fay and David Momoh’s relationship was off to a rocky start. Alissa refused to marry David until he got down on one knee at the altar and formally asked her to marry him. With some hesitation, David eventually did, and for a moment, it looked like they might actually make it as a couple after the experiment.

They appeared to be the “perfect power couple,” both ambitious and juggling multiple career hats. However, rumours quickly began swirling that Alissa was on MAFS for all the wrong reasons.

A source confirmed the claims to Chattr: “Everyone will understand when they watch MAFS, because it was very obvious what she was there for. She was only there for her influencing career; she wasn’t genuine.”

We’ll just have to wait and see how this drama unfolds.

Verdict: Unlikely.

Mel Akbay and Luke Fourniotis

MAFS 2026 Wedding Luke and Mel.

Out of all the couples in the experiment, Mel Akbay and Luke Fourniotis have struggled the most, and it’s been painfully obvious. Their relationship hit a rocky start when Luke arrived late to their wedding, having forgotten the rings — and chewing gum no less. Mel held a grudge, and said that there was no “spark” between them.

The tension carried through the honeymoon and the first dinner party, with awkward silences dominating even the simplest conversations. It seemed unlikely this couple could salvage their relationship.

After the first commitment ceremony, the experts did step in, urging them to grow up and hit the reset button. But even with that intervention, it doesn’t look promising. Mel admitted they’re “two very different people,” and based on everything we’ve seen, it’s safe to say this relationship is essentially non-existent.

Verdict: Unlikely.

Bec Zacharia and Danny Hewitt

These two didn’t exactly get off to a fairytale start. On their wedding day, Bec Zacharia took several digs at the groom, Danny Hewitt, from cringing at his joke about possibly needing to be bailed out of prison in his vows to poking fun at the crown brooch pinned to his suit.

Things only grew more complicated after the honeymoon. Despite being intimate, Danny later admitted he didn’t feel a strong sexual chemistry with his new bride, creating an obvious wedge between them. Throughout MAFS, Bec and Danny’s relationship has faced plenty of hurdles, particularly with Danny questioning their sexual chemistry.

As the experiment goes on, things are starting to look slightly more promising, and there’s a chance they could make it to the end. That said, we’re not convinced they’re still together. Interestingly, they’re both still following each other on social media — so maybe they are happily in love… time will tell!

Verdict: There’s a possibility these two are still together!

Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov

Fiery Lithuanian princess Stella Mickunaite and Croatian YouTube prince Filip Gregov seemed like a match made in heaven. From sparks flying at the altar to Stella sharing her thoughts in a recent challenge called “Red Flag, Green Flag,” it seems Filip came out all clear, according to Stella.

The pair appear to be seeking a traditional relationship, with the man as the provider and the woman as the mother and caregiver. Their only hiccup so far came when Filip revealed in his vows that he has a YouTube channel; something that didn’t sit well with Stella’s friends. But Stella was quick to let it slide, and things have seemed full steam ahead since.

So, are the prince and princess still together? It’s hard to say for sure, but the fact that they still follow each other on Instagram could be a hint — or at least a sign their relationship didn’t end on bad terms. We’ll just have to keep watching!

Verdict: There’s a possibility these two are still together!

Rebecca Zukowski and Steve Powell

MAFS 2026 Wedding Rebecca and Steve.

Rebecca Zukowski and Steve Powell are the oldest participants on MAFS, and on paper, they look like a perfect match.

Rebecca is a recent empty nester, with her 19-year-old son Austin having been her main focus. Steve, a dad of four daughters, says he understands women — but only time will tell if that’s true.

From the start, sparks flew between the single parents. Rebecca swooned over her “silver fox,” while Steve was instantly drawn to her infectious laugh. But as the episodes progressed, challenges began to test them. During the “Red Flag, Green Flag” challenge, Steve revealed some cracks in the relationship and listed Rebecca’s red flags — though he didn’t share them with the experts at the first commitment ceremony.

The truth? We don’t actually know if they’re still together, as there’s very little about them online. That said, they’re still following each other on social media… so maybe there’s hope for these two!

Verdict: Unlikely.

Julia Vogl and Grayson McIvor

In one of the most spectacular weddings in MAFS history, former AFL player Grayson McIvor met his bride-to-be on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, and it was none other than the season’s bisexual bride, Julia Vogl.

In a suspense-filled ceremony, Julia had no idea whether she’d be walking down the aisle to a man or a woman. “For me, it’s not some performative thing — I’ve genuinely fallen in love with men, and I’ve genuinely fallen in love with women,” she told the experts.

The chemistry between Julia and Grayson was instant, with sparks flying from the very beginning. But did they actually make it through the experiment and make it the whole way? We’re not entirely sure just yet. What we do know is that they’re still following each other on social media — which seems to be a recurring clue this season. Are they still together, or are they just keeping us on our toes?

Verdict: There’s a possibility these two are still together!
