The Block 2026 might have already revealed Chantel and Wyatt as this season’s drama-starters, but fellow contestants Courtney and Sev have predicted that it will be them next in line for the so-called villain edit.
In case you missed it, 2026 castmates Chantel and Wyatt have been under the most scrutiny in the first batch of The Block episodes, thanks to an early painting cheating scandal and a budgeting blunder that almost saw them leave the show.

While that drama has taken up most of the off-site antics so far, the pair’s rival team, Courtney and Sev, said in an exclusive interview with Chattr that the negative attention might soon turn to them as the season progresses.
The Block’s Courtney and Sev share their villain edit predictions
When asked by Chattr about this season’s villains ahead of the premiere, Courtney and Sev immediately nominated themselves. “It turns out it’s me [who’s the villain,]” Coutney told us. “G’day, Courtney’s the name!” she laughed.
Sev agreed with her teammates’ response about the villains, joking that “you’re looking at them” before pointing to Courtney and saying she was “50 per cent” of this season’s villainy.

Courtney and Sev might have been warned of their edit on The Block
As for why they made that prediction, Courtney and Sev hinted they may have been forewarned about their villain edit by someone behind the scenes on The Block, since Sev name-dropped a person called Adrian in her interview with Chattr.
“[Our villain edit grows] up until episode 23, which is on the record. Thanks Adrian,” Sev told us.
We don’t know for sure who exactly Sev was referring to, but Adrian Swift is the Head of Content, Production & Development at Nine, and he was present at The Block’s media day with Courtney and Sev.
“F**k you, Adrian,” Courtney said jokingly while answering Chattr’s villain question. “We love you, Adrian,” she added.
While all that certainly hints at some upcoming spiciness for The Block duo, the nail in the coffin came when Sev sarcastically joked, “Yeah, we’re definitely coming back next season, for sure.” Make of that what you will!
While we’ll have to wait and see how it all shakes out as the season unfolds, Courtney and Sev had the loosest lips of all the castmates when discussing this season’s villains. In other exclusive interviews with Chattr, castmates Rick and Tayla said “there’s no villains” while Adam and Jolene said “everyone was pretty chill” despite some teams “having their days.”
It comes as the once-friendly dynamic amongst the teams continues to fade, with Tayla recently describing some of the castmates as “snakes” and Chantel and Wyatt exclusively telling Chattr that Lisa and Tayla were “jealous” of their early progress in the build.
It seems like everyone’s got their knives out in the first half of the season, but if Coutney and Sev’s predictions are correct, they’ll be next on the chopping block.
The Block 2026 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday — Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
