Andy Lee has proposed to his girlfriend Rebecca Harding after a decade together

Radio host and TV personality Andy Lee has proposed to his girlfriend Rebecca Harding after ten years of dating.

Andy shared the big news on the Hamish & Andy podcast that dropped at midnight on May 1.

“I asked Bec to marry me on Sunday,” Andy casually announced.

He shared that Rebecca said yes, and Andy’s co-host Hamish then introduced her on air, who joked that they should have waited “another couple of years”.

Andy’s proposal

Andy shared that he popped the question to Rebecca on a cosy night in. He explained that he pretended there was something in their fireplace, and then stayed on one knee holding a napkin.

“When I was down there, I stayed on one knee and I gave her another napkin — because when I first met her at the cafe, I wrote on a napkin my details,” he said.

“I had a supporting ring behind the napkin,” Andy added.

Rebecca was actually at a Michael Hill event on Wednesday night, just hours before her engagement to Andy was announced on the podcast. However, she was sure to remove her ring in order to keep the surprise.

How did Rebecca and Andy meet?

Andy and Rebecca met at a Melbourne cafe when she waited his table back in 2014 after the radio host had written his details down for her.

“She was attractive, but it was more her bubbly personality and how she wasn’t good at her job,” he said in a column for The Age in 2022.

“She’d leave a table knowing about the person’s grandchildren or dog, but forget their order. I ordered cups of tea I never drank and eventually left a note on a napkin.”

After publicly debuting their relationship in 2015, Rebecca felt “immense pressure” being in the public eye and the pair broke up for six months.

“It was a really sad, tough time – and confronting because I had to accept that what I do for a living created the situation,” Lee said in the same column.

Rebeca added: “I was starting my career and doubting myself and my ability. Did I get this job because of who I’m dating? I’d make friends and wonder, do they actually like me? I struggled.”

However, after six months apart Andy reached out to Rebecca and the pair got back together.

They’ve been a couple ever since, and have recently bought a house in Melbourne together.

Chris Hemsworth reveals just how insane his prosthetics are in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Chris Hemsworth plays super-villain Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, but you might not know it at first glance, thanks to his extensive prosthetics.

Chris and his co-star Anya Taylor-Joy joined The Project on May 1 to chat about the upcoming movie, and what went into making it.

Chris joked that it was Anya’s idea for him to don a prosthetic nose, and explained the extensive makeup and special effects work he had on his face.

Chris Hemsworth in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Warner Bros. Pictures.

“I’ve got a nose, I’ve got teeth, I’ve got contact lenses,” he listed. “The film spans across 15 or 20 years, so there’s age makeup and glue and all sorts of things.”

The Australian-born movie star explained that he embraced the prosthetics, and said that the idea of reimagining yourself is why he decided to be an actor.

“The reason I wanted to be an actor is the fantasy, the adventure, the transportation into another world and another space,” he said.

“This was that did to the furthest extent that I’ve ever had the opportunity to do. I sit in makeup chairs for three or four hours and get transformed and by the time you look in the mirror you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize this individual’ so it’s a little easier to sort of step into the role,” he added.

Chris Hemsworth’s role in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Chris plays the role of Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which is a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. In the movie, he faces off against Furiosa, played by Anya.

He was photographed filming the new flick way back in 2022, and the shots had fans shocked by his use of heavy facial prosthetics.

At a CCXP event in Mexico, Chris confirmed that he’d be playing a villainous role in the new film.

“He’s [a] violent, insane, brutal person that is born from the wasteland. He’s a product of his environment. There’s an intensity to him… he has been birthed into a space where it’s kill or be killed and he has learned to rule with an iron fist. There’s a charisma to him and it’s a very manipulative charisma,” he said.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premieres in cinemas on May 24, 2024.

An investigation into when the MAFS 2024 cast will get their Instagram accounts back

With another season of Married At First Sight in the bag, we have the post-show drama to look forward to, and that usually plays out on Instagram.

Of course, as most avid MAFS fans know, the participants have to hand their social media accounts over to production once they start filming. While the cast are able to submit captions they’d like to post alongside official photos from the show, production has the final say about what goes up.

Back in the day, the brides and grooms were given their accounts back after the finale finished airing. However, in recent years that’s changed slightly to try and discourage the participants going on the show just to score sponcon deals as soon as it finishes.

Lauren. Instagram.

Now, contestants have to wait a specified amount of time before they gain full control of their accounts. On that note, we’ve tried to figure out exactly when they’ll be able to jump on IG lives and spill alllll the tea, and the results are pretty compelling.

What have this year’s contestants said about their Instagram access?

In an interview, Eden Harper recently revealed when the participants will get control of their own social media back.

“We don’t have our Instagram back yet,” she told The Pulse with Seany B & Emma G on April 19. “Channel Nine submitted it on my behalf.”

“That’s why the comments are off. Once the comments are back on, that’s when you know we’ve got out accounts back,” she added.

Eden explained that the cast will have to wait until the show finishes airing in the UK to regain control of their accounts. The Reunion Finale aired in the UK on April 30, so the crew should be back online any day now.

When did last year’s contestants get their social media accounts back?

The 2023 class of MAFS regained full control of their social media account in early May, which was just over a month after the final episode of the season aired.

Duncan James used his first post back to share some thirst traps, Alyssa Barmonde celebrated Mother’s Day and Harrison Boon posted a bunch of photos of his *new girlfriend*.

If we rewind a year further, the 2022 participants got their accounts back slightly earlier; in late April.

Eden. Instagram.

So, when will this year’s participants get their accounts back?

We’ve done a little bit of MAFS maths, and gathered an approximate date of when we assume they’ll have full control once again.

The final episode of MAFS aired on the following dates for the past three seasons:

  • 2022 – April 4th
  • 2023 – April 3rd
  • 2024 – April 8th

So, considering that this year’s season ended a few days later than last year’s, we can expect for them to be spilling the tea all over IG stories slightly later than last year’s contestants. This puts us at a launch-off date of around mid-May. Stay tuned!

Lucinda and Cassandra. Nine.

Meet Farmer Todd, FWAW’s brand spanking new Farmer in town

Dean may have left, but Farmer Todd is the new Farmer Wants a Wife lead in town, and he’s bought along eight lovely Ladies.

Todd joins the remaining farmers; Farmer Bert, 30, Farmer Joe, 33, Farmer Dustin, 26, Farmer Dean, 25, and Farmer Tom, 22 in the search for his forever love.

Todd is a 33-year-old cattle farmer from Baan Baa, New South Wales, which is about six hours away from Sydney and five hours from Coffs Harbour.

Who is Farmer Todd?

Todd was one of the original eight Farmers who potential contestants were encouraged to pick between. When the show was ready to begin filming, Farmers Dean, Bert, Dustin, Dean, Joe and Tom were selected.

Todd’s original Farmer profile says that he considers himself pretty relaxed and places a lot of importance on family.

“I’m pretty much a down-to-earth, hardworking, fun-loving, stock standard, country bloke, who will always be there for my family and friends, whenever they need a hand, or my help,” it reads.

“I can be serious, when I need to be but when I don’t have to be, I’m always up for a good time, a good laugh and enjoy kicking back with my family and mates.”

What is Todd looking for?

Like the other Farmers, Todd’s obviously looking for someone who will embrace the farm life. But what else is he looking for in his potential partner?

“Easy going and pretty relaxed like myself, but also willing to get their hands dirty and not be afraid of hard work. Someone who’ll enjoy living on the farm and the farming lifestyle,” he said.

“I’m pretty relaxed about most things. I’m supportive and dependable but always up for fun. There’s never a dull moment in my life. There will be times when you’ll need to buckle up at a moment’s notice because you’ll never know where we could be going to next.”

Farmer Wants a Wife 2024 premieres at 7.00pm on Sunday, 14 April on Channel 7 and 7plus.

“Calculated:” Selling the OC’s Alex Hall slams Brittany Snow over affair implications

Selling The OC’s biggest scandal involved US actress Brittany Snow, her (now) ex-husband Tyler Stanaland and his alleged extra-marital activities with realtor Alex Hall – and now there’s a new development.

For those of you living under a rock, Brittany and Tyler were married during the first season of the hit reality show. There were obvious flirtations between Tyler and Alex throughout the episodes, and Brittany filed for divorce shortly after the season aired.

Alex and Tyler officially started dating at the end of season two, and not long after, Brittany appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast and spoke about her divorce.

Alex and Tyler on Selling The OC. Netflix.

While Brittany didn’t directly name Alex, she did say “What people think happened, happened”, leading fans to believe that there was cheating involved on Tyler’s behalf.

Alex stayed relatively quiet after the episode aired, aside from a few passive-aggressive Instagram stories, however, she’s now come out swinging.

Brittany on Call Her Daddy. YouTube.

What did Alex say about Brittany’s Call Her Daddy interview?

During a promo tour for season three of Selling The OC, Alex didn’t hold back when she was asked how she felt about Brittany’s interview.

“Her coming out and doing that podcast was clearly just to promote her own book so she’s saying certain things to get press, and obviously, she’s got a great PR team,” she told Page Six.

“If you’re going to accuse me of something, say it. Say my name and say what I did. But she can’t do that because what she’s alluding to didn’t happen,” she added.

Tyler and Alex
Tyler and Alex on Selling Sunset. Netflix.

“So I think she was very calculated with her word choice, which unfortunately was a little defamatory towards me.”

Alex went on to double down that she and Tyler never hooked up while he was with Brittany.

“The accusation and what she was implying, or what everyone took from that implication which was that there might have been something going on between Tyler and I while they were married, is completely inaccurate.”

“Very short, very blunt, often very rude”: Brittany Hockley slams fellow I’m A Celebrity campmate

I’m A Celebrity Australia’s Brittany Hockley has come out swinging at her campmate Denise Drysdale, calling her “very short, very blunt, often very rude”.

Brittany made the observation on her podcast Life Uncut that she shares with ex-The Bachelor winner Laura Bryne.

The duo were talking about campmates Khanh Ong and Denise’s strained relationship on I’m A Celebrity, with Laura asking Brittany if it was related to their generational gap.

“That wasn’t even just Khanh and Denise, it was everyone and Denise,” Brittany said. “Denise was really hard, really, really hard.”

“She didn’t really want to be there.”

Laura asked Brittany if she thought Denise was being intentionally rude, or if it was simply her style of communication.

“I would hope she didn’t realise she was being rude, but then sometimes I’m like, surely you have to know. But, she’s 75 and that was a really hard environment for anyone, let alone going in there at 75,” Brittany replied.

Brittany originally turned down I’m A Celebrity because of the pay

Brittany revealed that when she was originally asked to enter the jungle for this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Australia! she turned down the gig.

“You have to get paid, because you give up your job. People negotiate whatever they think they need to go in,” she revealed.

Brittany and Robert Irwin on I’m A Celebrity. Ten.

“They offered me a number to go in, and I said no because it didn’t cover — I’d lose money. They renegotiated for me, and everyone had different salaries, but no one talks about it. Frankie would have got the most, hands down.”

Earlier this year season two winner Brendon Fevola admitted that he was paid $250,000 upfront to go on the show and an additional $5000 for every show after the first two weeks.

This is how the world found out about MAFS’ Ellie and Jono’s secret relationship

Things are well and truly done for Married At First Sight 2024 newlyweds Lauren Dunn and Jono McCullough, and bride Ellie Dix had a lot to do with that.

Turns out, Jono and Lauren weren’t going to be a MAFS 2024 success stories, and the groom has since started a relationship with Ellie.

Back in February, The Wash shared a photo of Jono and Ellie looking rather loved up at her work Christmas party together in December.

Considering that the filming of MAFS had completely wrapped by December, these two appear to be loved up in RL.

While Ellie and her (ex) ‘husband’ have left the experiment, Jono and his wife Lauren are still very much together on the TV show, meaning these pics are a hu-uge spoiler, and the production team over at Nine won’t be too happy about them.

Ellie and Jonathan photographed kissing

If the coupled-up Christmas party photos weren’t enough to confirm the budding romance, then the pics of the pair making out on a Sydney beach definitely confirm their tryst.

In the pics, the couple mack on in the water, on the beach, and on their way in. Plus, there are a few pics of them holding hands too. You can see the photos here.

Producers are furious at MAFS participants for ruining the season

Earlier this year, a Nine source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that the MAFS producers were  “furious” that a couple publicly flaunted their relationship before the season began airing. The pair were allegedly spotted together at Burleigh Pavilion on the Gold Coast in December.

“They must know they are breaking their signed agreement with the Nine Network,” the insider said. “No one’s more happy for contestants to actually find love but they are going to need to be more secretive for now and keep their time on the show hidden from the public.

“These 2024 contestants have all completed filming for the eleventh series and while some may have walked away with a loving relationship, others have been left to lick their wounds. Either way, they have signed contracts forbidding them from ruining storylines.”

Sara who? Peep the adorable photo of MAFS’ Tim Calwell and his new girlfriend

It’s official; Married At First Sight’s Tim Calwell has a new girlfriend, and she’s shared an adorable photo of the couple on Instagram.

Although Sara Mesa and Tim Calwell made it to the MAFS Reunion together, it was clear early on that they didn’t make it as a couple. Back in February, Daily Mail Australia published photos of Tim getting cosy with a brunette named Barbara.

And, it appears that Barbara and Tim are still going strong because she’s posted a loved-up photo of her and Tim on her private Instagram, which a follower shared to a MAFS Facebook fan group.

MAFS Tim and his new girlfriend Barbara
Tim and Barbara. Facebook.

Why hasn’t Tim shared any photos of Barbara?

Fans may be wondering why Barbara hard launched her relationship with Tim, but the MAFS groom hasn’t posted anything about her on his own Instagram page.

There’s a good reason for that – the MAFS 2024 contestants don’t have access to their own Instagram accounts yet. Their posting privileges were taken away during the show, to avoid any spoilers being posted.

While posts were still uploaded during the show, these posts were submitted by the contestants and approved by the MAFS production team.

In an interview, Eden Harper recently revealed when the participants will get control of their own social media back.

MasterChef Australia’s Sav joined the cooking competition for a heartbreaking reason

Savindri Perera, otherwise known as Sav, is bringing spice to MasterChef Australia 2024 – both with her exceptional cooking and her firey personality.

The Sri Lankan-born cook uses inspiration from her own country, to create dishes that have blown away judges Poh Ling YeowAndy AllenJean-Christophe Novelli and Sofia Levin.

Here’s everything we know about Sav.

Sav’s personal life

Sav was born in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo and she lived with her older sister Chethanee, her late Mum Chandrika and Dad Chethiya.

Sav moved to Adelaide where she was 18. Now, 30, she works as a banking consultant, and cooks as a hobby.

She sadly lost her mum in 2017, who she cites as her “food hero”, as per 10Play. Sav said that her mum’s passing was “a long road through the many stages of grief” but she feels ready to take on MasterChef to “honour her mother’s memory”.

Cooking isn’t just the love of my life, but it is also my eulogy to my mother. It has been, for the past three years. It has been my long winded, never ending letter of farewell to her,” Sav wrote on Instagram in a tribute to her late mother.

Sav’s cooking style

Sav describes her cooking style as “rustic, generous and colourful” and she counts “onion, garlic and curry leaves” as some of her favourite ingredients.

She is an expert when it comes to combining flavours – especially those predominantly in Sri Lankan cooking – and won’t shy away from dishes with lots of ingredients. She believes her ability to balance the six tastes will give her an edge, as will her baking expertise.

Sav plans to put to use all the skills she learnt from her mum’s delicious cooking, as well as the culinary traditions she was raised with.

Netflix true crime hit Baby Reindeer triggers unexpected declaration from real-life “Martha”

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer has captivated worldwide audiences with even Richard Gadd’s alleged stalker a.k.a the real Martha now speaking out.

The woman, who decided to remain anonymous for the interview, told the Daily Mail that she is now considering taking legal action for defamation following the series launch and the interest viewers have taken in her.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the story of Baby Reindeer centres on struggling comedian Donny Dunn’s (Gadd) strange and layered relationship with a woman named Martha (Jessica Gunning), whose initially friendly demeanour unravels as she begins to stalk Donny relentlessly. Over multiple years, she sent him over 41,000 emails, 744 tweets, 100 pages of letters and 350 hours of voicemails.

Now, in the brand-new interview, the alleged perpetrator feels that Gadd is “using Baby Reindeer” to “stalk” HER.

“I’m the victim,” he told the outlet. “He’s written a bloody show about me.”

According to the interviewee, Gadd is now “bullying an older woman on television for fame and fortune” and despite his attempts to shield her true identity, she has now received “death threats and abuse” from his “supporters.”

Fiona Harvey’s Facebook post

On April 26, a woman named Fiona Harvey penned a post on Facebook (which was public at the time of publication) accusing Gadd of creating the show about her; however, whether the Daily Mail source and Fiona Harvey are linked with one another remains unclear.

“Richard gadd who is not known to Me wrote a show four or five years ago for the festival fringe called baby reindeer it would appear to be popular on Netflix now among twenty something’s with no brain [sic],” she wrote.

“I do not follow the rantings of richard gadd or failed comedians like him. I have no idea what he’s said apart from A few quotes thrown at me this week by other people He seems to have some fat ugly woman called martha being played by an actres s pretending to be me Again. I do not know this actress. [sic]”

Harvey then claimed that she used to live in Camden (where the series is set) and that she “did know” Gadd was a “jobbing barman” in the Hawley Arms. She also said the bar was a “haven of drink” and that there were “drugs” and “rape allegations against some barmen”.

Jessica Gunning, Netflix

“I’ve had death threats from richard gadd supporters on here this week,” she penned. “I’ve had vile stalking and abusive threats.

“I know nothing about richard gadd apart from His sorry little life story I listened to on a sophie hagan podcast he did with her when baby reindeer came out [sic].

“I am not martha have no criminal Convictions.”

She also said he’d “defame anyone”, called him a “gay man” and claimed that “he did ask me out and stalked me years ago” and that she is “not interested in any aspect of richard gadds life”.

You can read the full passage below.

Richard Gadd speaks out on social media

After interest in the series — and its real-life counterparts — spread like wildfire, Gadd himself took to his Instagram Stories to ask fans to stop speculating.

“People I love, have worked with, and admire (including Sean Foley) are unfairly getting caught up in speculation,” he wrote. “Please don’t speculate on who any of the real-life people could be. That’s not the point of our show.”

Meanwhile, Foley also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express that the police had been informed and were “investigating all defamatory abusive and threatening posts” against him.

“It could’ve been fatal”: The Bachelor’s Anna Heinrich reveals her traumatic birth experience

The Bachelor Australia’s Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich welcomed their adorable second child in Ruby in March, but the 37-year-old has now revealed that her birth experience was almost deadly.

Anna has revealed that she had complications during Ruby’s birth, which saw her lose a significant amount of blood.

“With my first child Elle I had a C-section and we later found out that she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice,” Anna told Daily Telegraph.

“So when it came to my second one, I went in for a caesarean too and I guess I was a little bit cocky … I thought it’s all gonna be fine, it’ll be easy they’ll just bring her out.”

Anna said that the birth of Ruby went seemingly smoothly, but shortly after, problems emerged.

“The birth itself was fine and I had Ruby on my chest and I thought everything had gone really well. Then all of a sudden, they said that they thought I was clotting.”

Anna was taken into ICU

Anna told the publication that she was whisked into surgery after the doctors noticed that her bleeding wasn’t stopping.

“I handed Ruby over to my husband and they called the obstetrician back … I could see everyone started to get a little bit worried because I wouldn’t stop bleeding and they didn’t know why,” she said.

“I was told I had to go back in for another surgery which would only take about 40 minutes but instead went for about two hours.”

The mum-of-two stayed in the ICU overnight as a precautionary measure.

“It wasn’t until I came out that we realised how sort of dangerous that was,” she said. “My obstetrician told my husband if I wasn’t at that hospital at that time with the facilities and everything, it could’ve been fatal.”

Anna reflects on the scary experience

Fortunately, Anna and her family are all doing well now, and settling into life back at home. However, she wanted to shared her story as a cautionary tale.

“When you go into childbirth you want to make sure that the child’s okay and all your thoughts are about the child,” she said.

“But no one really thinks about how dangerous it can also be for the mother.”

The business owner admitted that the traumatic experience still affected her.

“I’m trying not to think about the situation too much … but there have been times where you do think what if and it’s something that you can’t dwell on,” she said.

“I’m really lucky I’ve got two beautiful girls now and we’re kind of just now adjusting at home as a family of four.”

“The plan didn’t go to plan”: Lauren Fried gives emotional update a year on from Jock Zonfrillo’s death

Jock Zonfrillo’s widow Lauren Fried has shared an emotional video about the loss of her husband almost a year after the MasterChef Australia judge’s death.

Jock passed away on April 30, 2023, a day before MasterChef season 15 was set to air. The season was delayed by a week, and Jock appeared as a judge on it posthumously.

“Next week it will be a year since we lost Jock, I have no idea where that time went,” Lauren said in the video.

“I really did have plans to get a lot more of his projects out but I think that somewhere between trying to find my feet as a solo parent – and just going through long periods of time where I found it really hard to look at videos and photos of Jock – the plan didn’t go to plan,” she added.

Lauren and Jock’s kids are “thriving”

Lauren and Jock share two kids, Alfie, 5, and Isla, 2, and he also has two older daughters, Ava and Sophie, from his first two marriages.

Jock’s widow gave an update about how they’re going since their dad’s death.

“Jock’s legacy sits in his children and his work, and both have given me a lot of purpose in the last year,” she said.

“I’ve been focusing on the kids and they’re going really well, they’re thriving actually and found their new normal. I think we created two extraordinary little people there.”

Lauren’s aim is to share more about Jock

Lauren revealed that she’s hoping to share more of Jock’s videos and recipes with his fans soon.

“I’ve got hundreds and hundreds of hours of Jock cooking his favourite recipes explaining what vinegar or oil he used in different things, things he discovered on our travels, fun behind-the-scenes stuff, interviews, and it’s a part of our life that I want to start sharing with everyone again,” she said.

“I’ll start posting as soon as I can. Please try and treat them as normal, if you have questions about the recipe or method, please just ask, pop it in the comments, and if I can’t answer it, I’ll get one of his chef mates too.

“The purpose of putting it up is for us to enjoy it, enjoy Jock, so I hope you do.”

Dani Soares and her Below Deck baby celebrated a huge milestone, but where was Jean-Luc?

Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux’s baby was one of the biggest scandals to ever happen in Below Deck history.

Now, the mum-of-one has graduated her Registered Nurse degree and she took her daughter Lilly Rose onstage with her.

“It’s only fair that Lilly would go up there with me,” Dani wrote on an Instagram story showing her accepting her degree.

Dani and Jean-Luc were romantically involved in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht which aired in 2021.

Shortly after the finale aired, Dani announced on Instagram that she was pregnant. Dani didn’t confirm that Jean Luc was the father at the time, but fans did speculate just that.

“I just don’t think that’s relevant for my situation, that’s all,” Dani told Us in May 2021, explaining why she decided not to name her child’s father. “I understand that people are curious about it, and I understand that I’m on a TV show and everybody wants to know. I just don’t think it’s anybody’s business right now.”

When did Jean Luc confirm that he was the father of Lilly Rose?

Nearly eight months after Lilly Rose’s birth announced that he’d done a paternity test and Lilly Rose was his daughter.

“As the year 2021 came to a close. A new year in 2022 begins with high ambitions and positivity. My silence on social media has been intentional and much-needed. I used that time to focus on what was important to me and my mental health,” he began.

Dani and Lilly Rose.

“I can’t let 2022 go any further without sharing some beautiful news. An international DNA test that was done awhile ago was no small feat. I’m happy and proud to say Sweet and beautiful Lilly Rose is my daughter.”

It doesn’t appear that Jean has been a part of Lilly Rose’s life.

Lilly Rose lives in Sydney with Dani now and is turning three this year.
