The Bachelor’s Holly Kingston reveals pregnancy struggle after news she’s expecting first child

The Bachelor Australia 2021‘s Holly Kingston has revealed her difficulty in getting pregnant after revealing she and Jimmy Nicholson are expecting their first child.

The duo, who tied the knot in August 2023, took to Instagram on June 16 to announce that their new addition is “coming [in] 2024”.

The news was well celebrated amongst fans of the recently axed dating show and Holly and Jimmy’s loved ones.

However, the 30-year-old has since revealed that her pregnancy “certainly wasn’t a walk in the park”.

On June 17, Holly shared a video of the moment she learned she was pregnant with her first baby.

The clip cut to the Bachie contestant surprising Jimmy with the positive pregnancy test. The couple then shared a hug and countless happy tears.

In the caption, the mum-to-be lamented that “nothing worth having comes easy”.

“Nothing could’ve prepared us for the lack of control, the pressure, the disappointment and overwhelming isolation that we felt,” Holly told her followers.

“Every time we saw one of these posts, no matter how happy we wanted to be for those on the receiving end… it stung.”

Given their difficulty in getting pregnant, Holly said she and Jimmy “made a promise” to share this struggle online “in the hopes it might make some feel less alone”.

“For those looking at this right now experiencing infertility or loss, we see you & from the bottom of our hearts hope a little miracle comes your way too.”

Fans share experiences of pregnancy struggle

In the comment section, several fans shared their own experiences with pregnancy and disappointment.

“Aww congratulations to you both,” one follower wrote.”From someone who has lost, then had fertility issues afterwards & sadly weren’t able to conceive, it’s beautiful that you have a knowledge that it isn’t always a rosie [sic] pathway to parenthood & that for some of us, we have had to pivot our lives.”

“Thank you for sharing this wonderful news with all of us,” another penned. “I’m currently going through the IVF journey & a recent loss so seeing stories like yours gives me hope for the future.”

A third added: “I know the heartache of trying to fall pregnant. It took me 11 years and many IVF attempts to have my first child.

“Then finally falling pregnant is the best thing ever. It will change your lives forever but in the most beautiful way. Congratulations to you both, enjoy every moment.”

An Officer and a Gentleman is being revived with Miles Teller as its leading man

Love will continue to lift up fans of An Officer and a Gentleman, upon news that the eighties classic is being revived by Paramount.

Deadline announced in June that the film is being rebooted, with Miles Teller set to take on the role that catapulted Richard Gere to stardom.

The 1982 film featured Gere as Zack Mayo, an introvert who, amid his brutal Navy Officer training, finds love with local Paula Pokrifki (Debra Winger).

An Officer and a Gentleman was such a hit that it nabbed seven Academy Award nominations.

It ultimately won Best Original Song with Up Where We Belong. Meanwhile, Louis Gossett Jr nabbed Best Actor in a Supporting Role, making him the first Black person to do so.

Paramount eyed Miles Teller for lead role following Top Gun success

Teller rose to great acclaim as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick upon its 2022 release.

As such, Paramount presidents were keen to lock in the heartthrob for their latest reboot, per Deadline.

Since the Top Gun sequel raked in $1.4 billion at the global office, the studio and the actor have reportedly “been in constant conversations over what that next project could be”.

And we absolutely love this pairing!

Most recently, Teller wrapped filming on two major projects, including Apple Studios’ The Gorge.

The second being the Michael Jackson biopic Michael, in which he stars as Jackson’s lawyer, John Branca.

There is no word yet as to when An Officer and a Gentleman will begin production.

MAFS’ Hayley Vernon says life has “changed for the better” as she celebrates recent baptism

Married at First Sight Australia 2020‘s Hayley Vernon has admitted her life has “changed for the better” in an Instagram post celebrating her faith and recent baptism.

Hayley made headlines in April when she announced she was quitting the adult entertainment industry following an illustrious career in OnlyFans and sex work.

Sharing the news on Instagram at the time, the former MAFS star said the industry had been “soul-destroying”.

“I will not be engaging or soliciting myself anymore or giving any of my beings to anyone further than what I have done,” Hayley said.

Taking to Instagram on June 16, Hayley said that “every inch of [her] life has changed for the better” since embarking on her spiritual journey.

“Yesterday I was born again in my faith making a public declaration to the outside world based on the inward transformation I have experienced through finding Christ,” she penned.

“Finding my faith has given me a firmer foundation to live my life on. It’s absolutely by far been the best thing that has happened to me. I would have called you crazy if six months ago you would have said I’d be here.”

Hayley concluded: “But truth be told there has not been one negative only positive areas of improvement — has letting go and being challenged been easy — nope — have I come out better for it? Absolutely.”

In a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle about her recent path change, Hayley explained she started “leaning” into her faith several years ago.

“For me, the spiritual journey started a few years back and I’d say over the past two years I was leaning more into my faith and pulling away from modern spirituality,” she explained.

“I realised that doing life my way wasn’t working — the things and the life I had got me what I wanted in regards to material possessions but over time it continued to take away from me at an unseen level.”

As for the adult industry, Hayley said she “[does] not recommend it for any woman”.

“This has been something I have said over the years of doing it when asked on podcasts and by women in my DMs,” she confessed.

“The glamour is not worth the isolation, the mental anguish and the negativity that follows that life.”

Adding that “every aspect of [her] life has got better” Hayley said she’s “at peace” and has “let go of a lot”.

“I’m learning how to be the woman I was before MAFS, before trying to be someone I wasn’t in the public eye merely to just survive all the bullsh*t that came with the TV show.”

“Thrilled”: Comedian Sam Pang lands Logie Awards hosting gig for the second year in a row

Sam Pang will return to host the TV WEEK Logie Awards in 2024 following the roaring success of his 2023 stint.

It was announced on June 16 that the comedian had nabbed the role once again, which will see him front Australian TV’s night of nights on Channel 7 come Sunday, August 18, 2024.

In a press release about the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards, Sam said he’s “thrilled” to be trusted with the gig once again.

“Hosting the Logies last year was an amazing experience and I’m thrilled to return in 2024,” he said.

“Adding to the excitement Seven have also given me the greenlight to try new things this year so I’m really looking forward to displaying my underappreciated and severely undeveloped song and dance skills.”

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seven West Media, Jeff Howard, added that “Sam Pang brought unabashed showbiz back to the Logies last year”.

“He played a big part in the show drawing its biggest audience since 2017 and reaching more than 3.6 million on Channel 7 and 7plus,” he confessed.

“We are delighted Sam is returning in August to host this year’s celebration of everything television.”

The 2024 Logie Awards will feature a number of key changes

The 2024 Logie Awards will not only feature Sam Pang, but several key changes to award categories and the judging process.

This year, three awards will be presented as “Most Popular”.

Nominees in these categories will be decided by a panel of independant industry experts before going to a public vote.

These awards are the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter and the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.

The remaining 20 awards will be titled “Best” to combine the previous  “Most Popular” and “Most Outstanding” categories.

These will be determined by a combined score from a judging panel, viewing data and Australian public votes.

Mum’s the word! MAFS’ Kerry Knight welcomes first child with Johnny Balbuziente

Married at First Sight Australia 2021‘s Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente are officially parents after welcoming their first child.

From becoming fan faves during Season Eight of the marriage experiment to becoming husband and wife IRL in January 2023, Kerry and Johnny have only gone from strength to strength.

They later announced they were parents-to-be in a cute AF pregnancy announcement in January 2024.

Now, their new addition is earth-side, with Johnny sharing the exciting news on Instagram on June 15.

“Introducing Chloe Rossi Balbuziente,” the doting dad penned.

He also revealed his daughter’s birthdate: June 14, 2024.

“Mum and Chloe are doing great and Dad is proud beyond measure,” Johnny added. “Love my girls so much!”

Friends, family and followers flocked to the comment section to shower Kerry, Johnny and Chloe with love.

“I’ll never drink coffee!”: What’s next for MasterChef Australia star Gill Dinh

This week’s MasterChef Australia 2024 elimination of Gillian Dinh was an emotional rollercoaster that left everyone teary-eyed.

We caught up with the talented Gill to chat about her journey, her inspirations, and what’s next on her culinary horizon.

When asked about watching back her elimination episode, Gill confessed to Chattr, “I didn’t even expect to cry the way that I do once you get back to be honest. Watching it with my family around was triggering. It was all the feels.”

The macaron taste test

Remember the intense macaron taste test? Gill’s first thought was pure relief. “Please don’t make me make macarons,” she laughed.

“I thought we’d have to recreate the flavours we guessed wrong. Thank God we didn’t. We just had to taste more.”

Coffee – friend or foe?

Coffee played a starring role in Gill’s elimination challenge, much to her dismay. “I will never be drinking coffee ever again,” she declared, adding, “It’s an ingredient that I don’t cook with or eat or drink.”

Despite her aversion, she decided on a Vietnamese coffee crème caramel. “The only way I could cook with coffee was to pair it with something familiar, like condensed milk in Vietnamese coffee. I thought I could balance it better.”

Dad’s wise words

Gill’s late father’s advice was a guiding light throughout the competition.

“My dad was the strongest person I knew. He battled leukaemia and told me, ‘Don’t be scared.’ That stuck with me – it was one of the last things he told me before he passed away.”

“It taught me to persevere through things I can control,” she reflected. “I can control and change things. Because he wasn’t able to change his circumstances with leukemia, for me, if I can face battles like a desert challenge where it’s up to me to learn the skills, practice, and hone them, then I’m going to tackle it full force and not be scared.”

For Gill, the camaraderie among contestants was the highlight.

“Meeting the other contestants was the best part. We became a big family. It was overwhelming but also incredibly rewarding to connect with people who shared the same passion and drive.”

What’s next for Gill?

Gill’s post-MasterChef plans are nothing short of ambitious – and she’s already booked and busy!

“I’m working in two commercial kitchens while running my lettering art business and doing the whole MasterChef thing,” she shared.

“I’m trying to learn as much as I can in the culinary world in a commercial setting, acquiring skills in that fast-paced environment. I want to put this into practice in the real world, open my own pop-ups, or collaborate with local businesses and people to do takeovers. Ultimately, the end goal is to intertwine my passions in food and art.”

“That’s through both a cookbook and present experiences. The whole purpose of food for me is to connect with people. Being able to intertwine my passions for food and art is the ideal scenario.”

She added, “That’s where I’m heading. That’s the main goal for me.”

Who’s got her vote?

As for who might take the MasterChef title, Gill has a couple of frontrunners. “I envision Darrsh or Harry winning. They’ve grown so much and are tough competitors. Whether they win or not, they’re going to succeed.”

Gill’s journey on MasterChef may have come to an end, but her culinary adventure is just beginning. With her incredible drive and creative vision, we can’t wait to see what she cooks up next!

MAFS’ Timothy addresses rumours he’s feuding with Lucinda after unfollowing each other

Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Timothy Smith has addressed rumours he’s feuding with Lucinda Light.

ICYMI: viewers became suss that the couple their co-stars and fans dubbed “Mum and Dad” were on the outs after noticing they’d recently unfollowed each other on Instagram.

They also appear to be untagged in photos on each other’s accounts, which indicates that they may have blocked one another.

Some unnamed MAFS participants also dished to Yahoo Lifestyle that there may be some “resentment towards Lucinda” as she’s raking in the post-show opportunities.

One even suggested that Timothy and Lucinda’s friendship crashed and burned because the TV bride is now “too busy” to nurture the relationship.

What had Timothy Smith said about the rumours?

The supposed beef seemingly kicked off after Timothy shared a TikTok in early June, in which he urged people to “get rid” of those who “don’t respect your time”.

The 51-year-old has since uploaded a follow-up on June 15 to “clear up a few questions”.

“If it doesn’t let me know but you know you’re not gonna get anything,” the caption read.

In the video, Timothy said the “cutting people off” sentiment was referring to business dealings rather than romantic pursuits.

He also rubbished reports that he’s harbouring “jealousy” in regards to Lucinda‘s career, describing the claims as “all off the mark”.

The TV groom concluded the TikTok by reflecting on his MAFS experience with Lucinda.

“We filmed a TV show… It was a lot of fun… That’s where I’m going to leave it”.

MAFS’ Layton Mills reveals career pivot upon launch of “world first” product

Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Layton Mills has revealed a shift in his career upon the launch of a unique new product.

Layton, who fans will know as an entrepreneur in the biotechnology and animal health space, took to Instagram on June 12 to reveal he’s partnered with Woolworths to debut the world’s first-ever sweetened condensed oat milk.

“BIG NEWS,” he teased alongside a video of him baking a cake with the new grocery item.

“If you’ve seen my stories recently, you know I’ve been working hard for the last 12 months to bring the world’s first Sweetened Condensed Oat Milk to Australian supermarkets!”

The 36-year-old revealed the Nature’s Charm milk product with “launch in over 900 stores across the country, rolling out from July 8th”.

Chatting to Yahoo Lifestyle, the MAFS groom said the new product is a “game changer” for those who love to cook.

“Times are changing for dairy. Oat-based sweetened condensed milk is not only a sustainable alternative but also a tasty one,” he explained.

Adding that the “oat-based sweetened condensed milk [is] perfect for baking”, Layton teased it may even taste “better than” a typical dairy condensed milk.

The Sydneysider — who was paired with Melinda Willis in the marriage experiment — confessed that his foray into the oat milk industry might seem “strange”.

However, he actually owned a milk brand that was sold Australia-wide before his biotechonology career.

HBO renews Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon for a third season

The second season of House of the Dragon is yet to premiere but the Game of Thrones prequel series has already been renewed for Season Three.

Based on George R.R. Martin‘s book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon continues the fantasy series’ legacy while winding back the clock 200 years before the events of GOT.

The first season of the spin-off introduced us to House Targaryen on the brink of a devastating civil war, with the second — which premieres on June 17 — throwing fans headfirst Daemon (Matt Smith) and Rhaenyra’s (Emma D’Arcy) battle against her half-brother, the newly crowned Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney).

HBO drama series chief addresses “spectacular” new season and renewal

Upon the announcement of House of the Dragon‘s renewal on June 14, HBO’s programming and drama series chief Francesca Orsi said the network is “in awe” of the franchise’s evolution.

“George, Ryan, and the rest of our incredible executive producers, cast, and crew, have reached new heights with the phenomenal second season,” she said in a statement.

“We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivalled by its heart.”

Orsi concluded: We could not be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and watch this team burn bright again for season three.”

The third season announcement was also shared on the show’s official Instagram page.

“The Dance of the Dragons continues,” the post read, alongside a video of a fire-breathing dragon.

Fans flocked to the comment section to share their excitement for the renewal. However, there was one resounding sentiment.

“You all better don’t make me wait another 2 years for Season 3,” one follower penned.

“We need season 3 in 2025 not 2026,” another wrote.

A third expressed that they “hopefully won’t have to wait two years this time” for the next season.

House of the Dragon season two will air over eighteen months since the first instalment’s finale on October 23, 2022.

It might be time to let go of your Titanic Jack Dawson crush because Kate Winslet just revealed that kissing Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t as dreamy as it looked.

In fact, she says it was a bit of a mess!

Kate Winslet says kissing Leonardo DiCaprio on Titanic was “not all it’s cracked up to be”

Revisiting the film’s iconic “I’m flying” scene with Vanity Fair, Winslet shared that while Leo was undoubtedly charming, their kissing scenes were far from magical.

“My god, he’s quite the romancer, isn’t he? No wonder every young girl in the world wanted to be kissed by Leonardo DiCaprio,” Winslet joked. However, she added, “It was not all it’s cracked up to be.”

Winslet explained the messy reality behind those kisses: “We kept doing this kiss, and I’ve got a lot of pale makeup on. I would end up looking as though I’d been sucking a caramel chocolate bar after each take because his makeup would come off on me.”

Meanwhile, DiCaprio looked as if “there was a bit missing from his face” thanks to the residue of her paler cosmetics. “Oh God, it was such a mess,” Winslet said.

Behind-the-scenes chaos

The chaos didn’t end with the makeup mishaps. Winslet also recalled banging her knee on the railing several times and needing multiple takes to get everything right.

“This was a nightmare,” she said, remembering how DiCaprio couldn’t stop laughing throughout the scene.

Despite the on-set difficulties, Winslet said she’s proud of Titanic and its lasting impact. The film won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, and remains one of the highest-grossing movies ever.

“I do feel very proud of it,” Winslet said. “Whole other generations of people are discovering the film or seeing it for the first time, and there’s something extraordinary about that.”

One downside to the film’s enduring popularity is that Winslet can’t board a boat without being asked to reenact the beloved “I’m flying” scene.

“It does my head in,” she admitted, though she sometimes obliges.

Celebrity chef Manu Feildel gets “clucky” in all-new web series Farm to Fork with Manu

Manu Feildel is back in an all-new web series, Farm to Fork with Manu, that sees the celebrity chef observe the journey of a “chook dinner” from the farm to his plate.

From judging home cooks on My Kitchen Rules to taking a stab at the mirrorball trophy on Dancing with the Stars, Manu has truly done it all.

In 2023, the 50-year-old teamed up with Ingham’s to present Ingham’s Dinner Done, a series of quick and delicious recipes using poultry.

Now, he and the poultry producer-slash-supplier, along with We Are Sprout, have expanded their partnership with Farm to Fork with Manu.

What is Farm to Fork with Manu?

Per the June announcement, the new digital content series will follow Manu as he “goes behind the scenes at Ingham’s, visiting one of its chicken farms and a processing plant, to see first-hand where Ingham’s poultry products come from – plating up delicious dishes along the way”.

MAFS expert Mel Schilling reveals how she explained her cancer diagnosis to her young daughter

Married at First Sight Australia expert Mel Schilling has revealed how she explained her cancer diagnosis to her daughter, Maddie.

The 52-year-old announced in late 2023 that she had been diagnosed with colon cancer after experiencing severe pain while filing the 11th season of the marriage experiment.

Mel has since undergone surgery to remove a tumour and is now undergoing chemotherapy, details of which she’s had to simplify for her daughter.

Chatting to OK! Magazine, she said Maddie has a “nine-year-old’s version” of what cancer is and what it means.

According to the TV expert, her daughter understands she’s unwell to a certain degree.

“She knows I’m having chemo and she knows that when I have an infusion I’ll be tired and need extra cuddles, which she is there for,” Mel said.

“She understands it in her own way.”

Mel Schilling calls husband her “rock” amid cancer battle

Mel, who is also an expert on MAFS UK, added that her husband, Gareth Brisbane, has been her “rock while she undergoes cancer treatment.

“He’s gone through his own tough year as he’s had grief in his life, but has still been there for me,” she admitted.

It comes after Mel reflected on the past six months, confessing that her treatment is “getting tough now”.

“I’m about halfway through and it’s getting hard,” she told The Mirror.

“Feeling fatigued and nauseous is a bigger part of my everyday life. It feels like I’m hungover or pregnant every day, which is not fun.”

Despite the toll her diagnosis and subsequent treatment are taking, Mel remains determined with the support of her family.

The trio recently settled permanently in South West London, with the mum-of-one dishing she started chemotherapy on the same day they moved house.

“In true ‘me’ fashion, the day we moved was the day I started chemotherapy,” she told the outlet.

“I don’t do things by halves.”

Fans of the hit show — and the books they’re based on — have been holding out for the second half of the latest season after the first instalment ended on a heart-racing cliffhanger.

The conclusion of Season Three’s fourth episode saw Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) asking whether Penelope Featheringrton (Nicola Coughlan) was going to marry him after a rather scandalous romp in a carriage (IYKYK).

While that moment was spicy as is, episode five had fans in a tizzy when Polin (Colin and Penelope) consummated their relationship during a six (!!) minute scene set to an orchestral arrangement of Ariana Grande‘s POV.

What have Bridgerton fans said about the show’s longest-ever sex scene?

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Bridgerton viewers reacted to what some are dubbing “one of the hottest sex scenes [they’ve] ever seen”.

Following the release of Bridgerton Season Three, Part Two on June 13, Coughlan took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at the aftermath of her and Newton’s characters’ mammoth romp.

In the post, the duo posed beside the daybed they filmed on, although the leg of the furniture was noticeably broken.

“Part Two is out now, we put our heart and souls into it, hope you love watching it as much as we loved filming it,” Coughlan penned.

Fans flocked to the comment section to congratulate the actors, with one celebrating their “great fake humping”.

“Yep, this was worth the wait. You two look very pleased with yourselves.”

In early June, the couple sparked speculation that Joe really did find his future wife on the hit dating show after fans spied a sparkling jewel on his bae’s finger during an Instagram Reel.

 “I spy with my little eye a pretty ring on your finger,” one follower penned.

While Sarah hasn’t addressed the rumours, Joe has spoken out — albeit without any juicy confirmation.

“It was only a week ago we were short odds for being broken up. We move quick around here,” he joked to Yahoo Lifestyle, remaining coy.

However, he later confirmed on June 13 that they definitely aren’t engaged (yet) when appearing on CBR Wrapped.

“Sarah and I, our relationship really is only just starting in a sense,” Joe said.

“We’re only just allowed to be together and do stuff. It was a bit difficult at the start of all that, but we’re just doing it one step at a time.”

He also added that the video Sarah posted was flipped and that she wears the ring on her right hand.

Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Jade Pywell has revealed what she found to be a major “ick” when it came to her TV husband Ridge Barredo.

The couple quickly became one of the strongest pairs on the show after joining the 11th season of the marriage experiment as intruder newlyweds.

While there were initially some concerns about Ridge’s maturity level compared to Jade — who has a young daughter, Victoria — they’ve outlasted the majority of couples from their season. (Despite rumours they briefly split straight after the MAFS 2024 reunion…)

Since leaving the experiment, Ridge has relocated to the Gold Coast to be with his TV wife and the pair have kept viewers hooked with TikToks and Instagram Reels about their relationship.

Recently, Jade shaded her partner in a Reel of her sipping tea — and that’s exactly what the confession is!

Neighbours star warns new Ramsay St resident Chrishell Stause of show’s “jail vibes”

Incoming Neighbours star Chrishell Stause has been warned of the long-running soap’s “jail vibes” by a fellow alum.

ICYMI: Selling Sunset star-slash-musician G-Flip‘s wife was announced as the newest Ramsay Street resident in May, with her guest tenure on the series to begin filming in July.

While Neighbours — which first hit the airwaves in 1985 — is iconic, former cast member Jordy Lucas thinks Chrishell might be in for a rude awakening when stepping onto the set.

Dishing some dirt in a recent episode of her podcast, That’s Showbiz Baby!, Jordy — who played Summer Hoyland from 2009 to 2012 before reprising her role in 2023 — said the soap is far removed from the “glitz and glamour” of Selling Sunset.

“What [Chrishell is] in for when she goes to Ramsay Street, is not that,” she confessed.

“To give you a bit of an idea of the ambience … They used to film a show called Prisoner in the studios. So the whole building has a bit of a jail vibe.”

Jordy added: “It makes me chuckle imagining what her face is going to look like when she walks into Nunawading [where Neighbours is filmed in Melbourne].

“It’s definitely going to be a very different experience for Chrishell.”

Further fanning the flames that will undoubtedly feature in a future dramatic episode of the soapie, Jordy thinks any special treatment Chrishell receives will sh*t the current cast.

“I’m assuming she will have a trailer, which would also make me laugh because they’re going to have to make room in the car park for the trailer which is going to piss off [everyone],” she predicted.

Jordy then urged Chrishell to “immerse” herself in the experience.

In fact, she dished that the cast is “like a family” and that regardless of the stark difference between sets, the 42-year-old will defs “enjoy herself”.

What has Chrishell Stause said about her Neighbours role?

No stranger to a soap opera, having appeared in Days of Our Lives and The Bold and The Beautiful, Chrishell previously confessed that she was “honoured and excited” to join Neighbours.

“Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry,” she said.

“They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street here I come!”

The never-ending wait for Euphoria season 3: What’s causing the delay?

It looks like we’ll be waiting a little longer for Season 3 of Euphoria to hit the small screen if recent comments from HBO executives are anything to go by.

In a recent chat with Variety, HBO CEO Casey Bloys shed light on the delays and creative challenges holding up the hit series’ highly anticipated return.

Euphoria first hit HBO screens in 2019, featuring an ensemble cast including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, and Colman Domingo, with the season 2 finale airing in February 2022.

In March 2024, HBO revealed that filming for season 3 was temporarily paused.

“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” the network said in a statement to Variety at the time. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

According to Ploys, Sam Levinson, the brain behind Euphoria, is wrestling with the new season’s direction.

“There’s been a lot of back and forth,” Bloys revealed.

“One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set and what made sense then.”

“So when you take it out of that, there’s a lot of back and forth about where to set it and how far in the future to set it and all that stuff. But I think he’s got a take that he’s excited about, and he’s busy writing.”

The return of the core cast

Amidst all the uncertainty, one thing is clear: the core cast isn’t going anywhere.

Bloys reassured fans that the main stars will return. “It’s the same core cast,” he confirmed.

So, expect to see Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, and the rest of the gang back on your screens. The specifics of their new adventures, however, remain shrouded in mystery.

Production woes and tragic loss

The road to season 3 has undoubtedly been rocky.

First, filming was initially halted due to the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild strikes.

Then, tragedy struck with the death of star Angus Cloud, who portrayed the beloved Fezco, following an accidental overdose at the age of just 25.

Despite the setbacks, the cast remains optimistic.

Zendaya, who’s also an executive producer on the show, admitted in April, “I don’t know when the show is coming back… it’s beyond me.”

Meanwhile, Hunter Schafer also expressed her eagerness to reunite with her co-stars, saying, “Everyone’s kind of blown up, and so with that comes people travelling a lot… Whatever happens, I’m just excited to get back together once it’s time.”

The future of Euphoria might be uncertain, but one thing’s for sure: the anticipation is only growing stronger.

Official Synopsis

Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. 

Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.

Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.

When will Bridgerton season three be released?

Bridgerton season three, Part One will be released on May 16.

Meanwhile, Part Two, an additional four episodes, will be released a month later, on June 13.

While Netflix hasn’t specified a specific time for the show’s release, major series usually drop in Australia around 5pm AEST, so expect to see Bridgerton on the streaming service around then!

We already know that Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton) and Charithra Chandran (Edwina Sharma) aren’t returning; however, the rest will be.
