MKR’s Maria and Bailey reveal ‘secret weapon’ to beat Justin and Will

Boss friends Maria and Bailey are up against frontrunners Justin and Will in the My Kitchen Rules (MKR) grand final, and they believe they have a secret weapon that could secure them the win.

Both pairs earned their spots after winning their respective semi-finals and eliminating two teams from the competition, setting the stage for an intense grand-finale showdown.

However, Justin and Will’s journey to the end was a lot smoother than Maria and Bailey’s; they scored the highest in the first Instant Restaurant round, meaning that they got to skip the entire second round of Instant Restaurants. Meanwhile, Maria and Bailey travelled around the country three times for the home cooking challenge.

Looking back at their journey on MKR 2025, Maria and Bailey said that the fact that they did an extra Instant Restaurant round, compared to Justin and Will, may work in their favour at the finale.

“We actually had the chance to cook more times in the competition than Justin and Will, so maybe we’re a bit more aware of how to deal with stress when things go wrong,” Maria told Chattr.

Bailey added that he and Maria are extremely determined to come out of the grand final on top.

“I think just sheer willpower is the only secret weapon that we’ve got,” he laughed.

Bailey said that while he knows Will and Justin are tough competition, he’s glad to be facing them in the finale because he wants to win, knowing he beat the best.

“Justin and Will have been the people that we wanted to go up against,” he explained. “We wanted to be against them, because we find them the biggest competition that we’ve had, so we’re definitely nervous to go against them, considering all the feedback and the scores that they have had the whole competition.”

What would Maria and Bailey spend the prize money on if they win MKR?

The winner of MKR 2025 scores $100,000 in prize money, and Maria and Bailey already know what they’ll spend the money on if they’re triumphant.

“I’m planning to maybe open up my first shop room with my cookie business,” Maria, who owns Blondie’s Bakehouse, told Chattr.

Meanwhile, Bailey, who already owns five businesses, is looking to launch a cooking app.

“I want to create a an app that it’s a little bit like a YouTube or a video program for and for youth to be able to watch and underprivileged youth, that’s what I do for for a living, and so that they can watch and learn how to cook with cooking — really easy with things that you can just find in the cupboard and and make it a bit fun and exciting. So it’s not just a boring video of how to cook something, but makes it a little bit more interesting.”

The My Kitchen Rules (MKR) grand finale airs on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Ariana Grande was ambushed at the Wicked premiere by an Aussie pest

Ariana Grande’s recent appearance at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in Singapore took a shocking turn when a man managed to get over the barricade and dodged security to rush at the singer on the yellow carpet.

The incident has gone viral on TikTok, with fans praising Cynthia Erivo for her quick action as she stepped in to push the guy off Ariana and shield her, as security then rushed in to detain him.

Ariana Grande was greeting fans on the yellow carpet alongside Wicked co-stars Cynthia and Michelle Yeoh, when a man suddenly jumped a barricade and ran toward her.

Footage from the scene shows Grande visibly startled as she tries to step away, but it was Cynthia’s quick actions that have fans praising her, as she intervened before security got to the scene, shielding Ariana from the man.

“Not Cynthia being faster than security, she really is Mother,” one fan commented on the footage.

“A lot of people don’t understand that Ariana may have PTSD from what happened at one of her concerts,” another fan said, referring to the 2017 terrorist attack at Ariana’s Manchester concert. “The concept of people running at her is very alarming, I’m sure.”

“Can we normalise not touching celebrities without their consent,” another person added. “They’re literally strangers doing their job.”

Johnsenn Wen, known online as ‘Pyjama Man’ was the man behind the ambush. The Aussie man has previously disrupted public events and documented his antics on Instagram, claiming he “met” Ariana Grande, while poking fun at his own arrest.

Wen was arrested earlier this year after making his way on stage at Katy Perry’s concert, where he jumped up and down near the star while she looked uncomfortable and moved away, before security dragged him off stage.

“Katy Perry thanks for letting me dance on stage,” he said on Instagram, after the incident.

Mike Goldman on why addressing issues like racism and sexism on Big Brother is so important

Big Brother Australia 2025 is only in its first week, and already issues including gender inequality, racism and prejudice have been raised among the housemates.

Big Brother Australia is unique in the sense that contestants are encouraged to talk about challenging topics, unlike other reality shows, which skim over the deeper moments and focus on drama and romance.

In an interview with Chattr, Big Brother Australia 2025 narrator Mike Goldman — who was part of the show from its launch in 2001 to 2008 and returned in 2022 — said that its willingness to tackle sensitive topics is what makes Big Brother so powerful.

“I think it’s important to address it in so many different areas of society, because if we can’t have these conversations, then people will go off in their own little groups and say stupid things that are just completely untrue and believe it, and just end up hating the other people who have a different opinion,” he said.

Mike explained that bringing together people who might never cross paths in the outside world allows them to see things from new perspectives.

“They can talk about things, they can find a middle ground, and they can understand each other,” he said.

Mike Goldman weighs in on Michael, Bruce and Mia’s gender role discussion

The Big Brother narrator used an example of Michael, Bruce and Mia, when Mia tried to get the men to understand that gender inequality still exists.

“There’s a tradie and a guy who owns a couple of men’s magazines. Couldn’t get more blokey than that. And here’s a woman of colour. Just for her to get in there and fight for women and say, ‘Can you guys just listen for a second and just sort of understand what it’s like for me in my life. It’s a really different world for me. I just want you to just listen and understand me.’ And I think it’s great to see those conversations.”

Mike added that after Michael has rubbed a lot of viewers and contestants the wrong way, and pointed out that a platform like Big Brother might help him reevaluate some of his views.

“Maybe it will make him go, ‘Hang on a minute. Okay, I’m in this house full of people, different walks of life. Some I agree with, some I don’t.’

“Maybe it’ll make him go a little bit insular and just have a little look at himself and question his own thoughts and feelings towards certain people of different sexes, races, jobs and all that kind of thing, just sort of understand their point of view with a bit of empathy.”

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Sunny’s daughter Chloe has called out the other Golden Bachelor contestants for how they treated her mum

The Golden Bachelor Australia finale is approaching, and Sunny Long and Janette Bendle are fighting it out for Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden’s heart.

Sunny has won over a legion of new fans in Australia and has worn her heart on her sleeve during the whole process, but it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the CEO, with Sunny also having to battle racist comments and interactions as the only Korean woman on the show.

Sunny’s daughter Chloe calls out racist comments from Australian public

Sunny’s daughter, Chloe, recently took to TikTok saying that the casual racism towards Sunny in the comments sections of social media and articles has been “worse” than what she could’ve imagined.

@chloebunnie_ Replying to @Maree @Channel 9 you need to moderate your comments. i don't know how this racism is allowed to continue? i was terrified of the racism that mum would inevitably face being on australian reality tv. but this is worse than i expected… so horrific. #thegoldenbachelor #goldenbachelor #realitytv ♬ original sound – chloe

“Living in Australia with an Asian mum, I have seen mum experience so much racism. And so obviously, you know, her being on the show, I was terrified for that from the possible contestants and the Australian public,” she said. “And it’s just worse than I could have imagined.”

Singling out Channel Nine, Chloe said she thought there’d be better moderation from the social media team.

“I thought there would be some moderation from Channel Nine. Like, it’s actually a joke. Top comments with … with 100 likes and they just leave it there,” she said. “It is not OK. And obviously, you know, white boomers, unfortunately, you’re going to expect a lot of racism among that group. So maybe I should have known.”

Chloe on how The Golden Bachelor contestants perceived her mum: ‘Some of them look down on her’

Bear and Sunny during hometowns. Image: Nine

Speaking with Chattr, Chloe said that it’s been really hard to see her mum being treated badly and called out the other women on The Golden Bachelor.

“It’s also been really hard to see how some of the other women look at or treat my mumOf course, editing might play a part, but it still feels clear that some of them look down on her. Unfortunately, I’ve seen that a lot throughout my life – people judging or underestimating her because she doesn’t act how society expects an older woman to act.

“And being Korean adds another layer, as racism might be involved. It’s heartbreaking to see her treated as if she’s beneath them when she is a beautiful, strong, intelligent and passionate woman,” Chloe shared.

Touching on the moment she asked Bear during hometowns if he identified as a feminist, Chloe said:

“It was important for me to check if Bear was a feminist because my mum is such a strong, independent woman. She’s financially independent, super confident, and takes up a lot of space (in the best way possible), which can sometimes intimidate people who aren’t used to women like that. She deserves someone who not only respects that, but actively celebrates it,” she said.

“She’s also a Korean woman living in Australia, so she also deals with racism and the kinds of everyday biases that come with that. So she needs to be with someone who’s actually aware of racism and sexism, and who’s willing to stand beside her through that.”

Chloe said she’s proud of her mum for being vulnerable on the show.

“There have been many tears shed watching her open up about some of the painful things she’s been through like her previous relationship, losing her mum (my grandma, who I’m also still grieving), and her experience with breast cancer. I’m so proud of her for being so open and vulnerable, because that’s not easy to do, especially on national TV! I think there’s so much strength in vulnerability, and I know a lot of people watching will really relate to her story,” Chloe said.

The Golden Bachelor airs on Sundays and Mondays on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Big Brother Australia fans have noticed a sly detail in Holly and Colin’s relationship after their kiss

If you’ve been watching Big Brother this week, you’ll be all across the divisive Holly Young, the one and only model/influencer who entered the house this season.

And if you’ve been watching Big Brother via TikTok like I have, you may have noticed Holly and Colin Ridley share a wet-sounding smooch during a live-stream last night.

You know, the kind of kissing that makes you wish you don’t have ears.

@bigbrotheraulive Colin and Holly kiss under the blankets on livestream #bigbrotherau #bigbrother2025 #bb2025 #bigbeotherlivestream #bigbrotheraustralia ♬ original sound – bigbrotheraulive

With Colin winning over fans for his loveable personality, and Holly not quite winning over fans at all, the unlikely romantic pairing have caught the eyes of everyone watching with many speculating Holly may be using Colin for all of the wrong reasons.

First up, why aren’t people liking Big Brother’s Holly?

With Big Brother promising to go back to its roots and show everyday Aussies this season, people were immediately and maybe unfairly put off by Holly being a model/influencer, believing she was going on the show for fame.

This wasn’t helped when she used her entrance into the house to name-drop the fashion brands she was wearing.

Things went from bad to worse when Holly got into a heated discussion with fellow housemate Aboila, saying that ‘pretty privilege’ doesn’t exist, and tried to argue pretty people have it just as hard in life that those who aren’t as conventionally good-looking. Instead of listening to Abiola’s point of view, Holly started listing the ways being attractive came with its own issues, with many fans of the show calling her out for being defensive and self-centered.

What is going on between Big Brother’s Holly and Colin and why do viewers think she’s being disingenuous?

The 10-year age gap between the pair has fans questioning Holly’s motives, as Holly, 31, and Colin 21, get closer in the house.

The two hit it off early, with Colin gravitating towards Holly and offering her the clothes off his back while waiting for their suitcases to arrive.

Fans of Big Brother have their suspicions that Holly is using Colin as a gameplay to be able to remain in the house, as Colin is already an early fan favourite.

The two shared their first kiss recently, but there was also another scene that caused fans to question Holly’s motives.

When someone on TikTok uploaded a video of Holly and Colin snuggling, they wrote: ‘I think it’s just a proximity crush, but why are they so cute?’

However, other fans quickly pointed out Holly was staring at the camera before realising it was on her, and pulling Colin in close for a hug.

@watch.com.au #bbau #bigbrother #bigbrotheraustralia ♬ all night – driel

“She knows exactly what she is doing. She has absolutely no interest in him romantically, but is leading him on so bad,” one person commented on TikTok, with someone else agreeing, “She’s using him as a safety card. It’s clear as day.”

“She’s definitely performing because she thinks the public will like Colin. She’s kinda dug herself a grave though, so far,” another person speculated.

With Holly up for elimination this week, we’ll have to wait and see if this one will be a Big Brother love story for the ages!

Has the MKR 2025 winner already leaked?

The My Kitchen Rules (MKR) grand finale is almost here, with Justin and Will going against Maria and Bailey for the grand prize on Sunday night. But, seeing as the show was pre-recorded, has the MKR winner already leaked?

Justin and Will were clear frontrunners at the start of the season; however, there’s a chance that underdogs Maria and Bailey could turn things around. During the promo for the grand finale, it was revealed that this is the closest battle in recent history.

While the MKR 2025 winners won’t be officially announced until the finale, fans are already speculating about who will take home the title. A recent poll in an MKR Facebook group had Marko and Danielle as clear frontrunners, with 62% of fans voting for them.

Justin and Will had odds of 25% to win, with Maria and Bailey sitting at just 2%. Could this be a big clue?

Before being eliminated, Marko and Danielle also revealed that Justin and Will were the top dogs.

“They seem to be the only team that’s truly thrived in Kitchen HQ so far,” Danielle said.

Lil predicts Justin and Will as the winners of MKR 2025

In an interview with Chattr, Lil agreed with fans and tapped Justin and Will to take out the title. “Personally, I think Justin and Will are going to win. I think they deserve to win. They’ve been on top the whole time,” Lil said.

“We’ve always said, and a lot of people in the competition have said, they are the biggest threat. So I do definitely believe that they deserve to win for themselves and their families.”

While all signs appear to be pointing towards Justin and Will winning, Bailey told Chattr they had one trick left up their sleeve.

“I think that we do better in Kitchen HQ, under the time pressure,” Bailey spilled. “[Other than that], I think sheer willpower is the only secret weapon that we’ve got.”

Only time will tell as to who comes out on top!

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Everything you need to know about the MKR 2025 grand finale

With the semi-finals done and dusted, My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 grand finale is rapidly approaching. Maria and Bailey will face off against Justin and Will for the ultimate prize.

Before anyone claims the MKR 2025 title — and the massive prize that comes with it — they’ll have to face a nail-biting finale judged by some of Australia’s top chefs.

While the contestants film the finale months before it airs, this year’s winners may not even know their own fate. MKR 2025 winners Simone and Viviana told Chattr in an interview that they found out about their triumph at the same time as the rest of Australia.

“It was breathtaking,” Viviana shared, adding that they filmed alternative endings at the finale so the results weren’t leaked. “We didn’t know until last night, and it was easily one of the happiest moments of my life.”

So, with the MKR 2025 finale just around the corner, here’s everything you need to know.

Who’s in the MKR 2025 finale?

Justin and Will are competing against Maria and Bailey one last time, to find out who is the MKR 2025 winner. Fans are rooting for Justin and Will, but Maria and Bailey believe they have what it takes to secure the win.

When is the MKR 2025 grand finale?

The MKR 2025 grand finale will take place on Sunday, November 16 at 7pm.

Who will return for the MKR grand finale?

Lil and Lol told Chattr all of the eliminated contestants returned for the MKR 2025 grand finale. “It was so good to see everybody,” Lol said. “I think when we first saw everyone, we were like screaming, running up the hallways, you know, jumping… obviously there’s a few people along the way that rub some feathers.”

According to the pair, Mark and Michael didn’t speak much to each other during filming the final episode.

Is there a trailer for the MKR grand finale?

There is indeed! According to the judges, this MKR 2025 grand finale is the closest it’s been in history. You can watch the trailer below.

What happens in the MKR grand finale?

While there’s no formal word on what exactly the MKR 2025 grand finale will entail, last year’s saw the top two teams cook an entree, main and dessert for judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge, as well as special guest judge Julie Godwin.

The three professional chefs judged each dish out of ten, and the team with the highest score was crowned the winner. So, we can likely expect a similar format this year.

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 airs on Sundays and Mondays on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Love Island producers reveal that Yana ‘spent 75% of her audition’ talking about her ex Kye

Love Island Australia 2025 OG Yana was left shocked after her recent ex, Kye, entered the villa as the second male bombshell, and producers have revealed why they decided to throw the former flames back into each other’s lives.

Before Kye entered the villa, Yana had already mentioned him plenty, telling the Islanders they’d only split a few months ago, and called him “toxic”. And, it wasn’t just the Islanders Yana vented about Kye to. Love Island’s executive producer Josie Steele and creative director Alex Mavroidakis said that the Sydney plumber spent the majority of her audition talking about him.

Josie explained on the Love Island Australia: Officially Unpacked podcast that during the application process, all Islanders are asked for the Instagram handles of their exes, and producers get in touch if they find them interesting.

“She talked about Kye a lot in her application, and he looked interesting,” Josie said. “So we just reached out and asked if he would be interested in applying.”

“So it wasn’t like we were like, he definitely has to come on. She definitely has to come on. We just thought, interesting. Let’s just meet him and see if he’s interesting as well.”

Alex explained that both Yana and Kye spent the majority of their auditions talking about each other.

Yana and Kye on the villa daybed.

“[Their breakup] was so current, you know, they’d only just split up. And so then we met them both and obviously they had no idea each other were coming. I think Yana posted something on TikTok, so Kye may have had an idea that she was applying, but he certainly didn’t know that she was going on.

“So then we met her in person, and she spent 75% of her audition — we call it an audition, but really it’s just a chat like this — talking about her ex-boyfriend, Kye. We then met him the next day, I think it was, and he spent 75% of his time talking about his ex-girlfriend, Yana.”

Josie added that the casting team found both Yana and Kye intriguing and said they probably would have made it on the show independently of each other anyway.

“But it was like it was just so compelling that they were still clearly thinking about each other,” she said.

Producers thought Yana was strong enough to handle her ex coming into the villa

Ever since Kye entered the villa — and subsequently started hooking up with Yana’s Love Island bestie, Lacey — viewers have taken to social media to claim that the situation is unfair to Yana.

Alex and Josie said that an Islanders emotional resilience is something they consider before doing something as potentially damaging as bringing in their ex.

“Duty of care to Islanders is the absolute number one most important thing. We have welfare producers, psychologists, doctors, nurses, executive producers like you’re literally safer in the Love Island villa than you will be in any nightclub in Australia,” Alex said.

Yana crying over Kye being in the Love Island villa.

“Now we have to make a judgment call. Can they handle this?

“Yana is a very, very, very robust human being, and we knew that she was a type that, the personality type, that can handle this sort of thing, and we know that she could go on to flourish after it.”

Alex referred to the most recent recoupling ceremony, which saw Yana save Kye from being dumped from the villa, and used ratings as a reason for choosing to put the ex-lovers in the same house.

“We knew she could hack it. It’s very full on at the moment, but she handles it amazingly well,” he said.

“And look, it’s so noisy….the noise on socials, the ratings that we’re getting are bigger and noisier than we’ve ever had before. So it’s clearly captured the [audience].”

Love Island Australia airs Monday – Thursday on 9Now.

MKR’s Lol and Lil defend controversial chicken choice: ‘It’s not easy’

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 contestants Lol and Lil started off as fan-favourites, but as the competition heated up, they started to receive an onslaught of negative hate online. One particular criticism from both fans and fellow competitors? The pair cook chicken too often, and it’s too simple for a competition like MKR.

Although grand finalists Justin and Will have cooked curry a fair few times, they haven’t received as much backlash.

Lil jokes they’re the “chicken girls”, but doesn’t see anything wrong with their decision to cook dishes such as rotisserie chicken gyros, hearty chicken and leek pot pie and fried chicken bao buns. “What’s wrong with chicken? Everyone loves chicken!” Lil exclaims.

“It’s not like we cook chicken the same way every time. So I think we were showcasing different ways that you can cook a certain meat, and we chose chicken. I guess you can call us the chicken girls.”

Lol also tells Chattr that chicken isn’t “easy” by any means; in fact, it takes skill to get it right.

“Chicken can be overcooked really easily and also undercooked, as we saw in some parts. Yeah, it’s chicken, but it’s not easy. There’s a lot you can do with chicken as well. It’s so diverse, you can do so much with it,” Lol says.

So why did Lol and Lil focus so heavily on chicken? If Michael is the meat master, are they the chicken masters?

“I just think chicken is one of the best meats to cook,” Lol says. “You can add so many flavours to it, so why not do that? But also, we did dabble in a few other meats too.”

Did Lol and Lil think they could win MKR?

Lol and Lil recently lost the semi-final to Maria and Bailey, narrowly missing out on a spot in the grand final against Justin and Will.

Lil tells us the pair thought they had a slim chance of winning MKR against Justin and Will had they made it to the grand final, but knew it wouldn’t be easy.

“We thought we’d give it a go, like going up against Justin and Will, [they are] huge contenders. Look, there was a possibility that the judges could see our progression throughout the whole competition, and if we did make it to the final, that they could see how hard we worked to get there,” Lil explains.

“But also, we knew if we made it into the grand final it was gonna be like, the most extreme, tough battle we’ve ever done.”

The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Home and Away leaked video reveals major Brax and Ricky spoiler: ‘Awesome’

Home and Away viewers are in for a treat, as the storyline involving fan-favourites Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky Sharpe (Bonnie Sveen) appears to include a visit to Summer Bay. The pair’s return was announced by Channel Seven, with the network noting their storyline would take place in Western Australia as part of their partnership with Tourism Western Australia.

Scenes involving Brax and Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) were filmed back in mid-October, with one fan sharing photos of the pair by the Elizabeth Key Bell Tower and another claiming the crew also filmed in Eagle Bay.

However, it looks like Brax, Ricky, and their son Casey will be making a quick visit to Summer Bay. A fan shared a video of the trio filming a scene out at Palm Beach on November 6 to Instagram. In the scene, Brax and Ricky look extremely happy as they chat with the young boy and also share a kiss.

Naturally, this sparked discussion in a popular Home and Away Facebook group, with one fan writing: “Someone saw Stephen Peacocke, Bonnie Sveen and a child actor that I assume is playing Casey Jr. filming at Palm Beach this week. I thought they were only back for the WA storyline but obviously not. What do you think they are back in Summer Bay for?”

A fan replied and said it was “awesome” to see Brax and Ricky back, theorising the pair “filmed a few extra scenes”.

“Maybe it’s like a memory scene or something showing their journey away from the bay as Casey Jr. grows,” another guessed.

“Maybe a character witness for Tane, or there to run his business to help him out for a while,” a third said.

“Brax does have a connection to the Bay still, his brother Casey is buried there. Maybe they are back in the Bay to show young Casey his uncle’s grave?” another pointed out.

However, a sceptical fan noted that Brax and Ricky could be filming something else rather than scenes for Home and Away.

“It could be a promo for the WA stuff. It’s funny, everyone was very clear that they would NOT be in Summer Bay, but there they are. Perhaps the police car gives a clue? Brought there by them for some reason?”

Video of Brax in Summer Bay goes viral

Stephen and Bonnie were also seen filming on Palm Beach on November 11. A CelebTime video of Stephen waving and saying hello to fans racked up over 368,000 views, with hundreds of excited comments.

One viewer elaborated on his surprise appearance, saying: “[Bonnie] was also there, just didn’t get to see her filming ’cause we were watching other stuff at the time. [They were filming the] promo for the special event in WA with them.”.

The show usually films about five to six months in advance, so all will be revealed in April 2026.

Love Island Australia producers finally explain the truth about the Superfans: ‘Wish they were fake’

Unlike the international versions, Love Island Australia lets Superfans vote throughout the season, but viewers have long suspected that those voters are actually producers.

The Superfans call the shots, from who’s made vulnerable to who scores a date with a bombshell, and even who’s sent packing. In contrast, the UK and US iterations of Love Island are filmed live, and it’s the viewers who are voting on those things.

While Love Island Australia’s Instagram advertises for new Superfans each year, those mysterious voters are never revealed to the audience, leading many to question if they even exist.

However, in the most recent episode of Love Island Australia: Officially Unpacked podcast, executive producer Josie Steele and creative director Alex Mavroidakis cleared up some of the many questions surrounding the controversial Superfans.

“The Superfans are real,” Josie stressed. “I wish they were fake sometimes, because it’s really hard managing them.”

Alex went on to explain why it’s extremely rare for a Superfan to pop up on social media and reveal themselves.

“What’s really annoying is that the reason they’re not popping up is because they sign an NDA and because [those NDA’s are] brilliant,” he explained. “They are paid, they watch raw vision from the villa. We need that mechanic because we’re not a live show.”

“I’m gonna tell you right now, pinky swear. I’ll do this to my kids. The Superfans are real, and I don’t pinky swear lightly,” he added.

Superfans’ decisions aren’t influenced by producers

Josie said that the Love Island producers don’t have any input into the Superfans’ decisions, and that at times, those choices even go against the storylines the producers had hoped for the season.

“To be honest, they think differently than us, sometimes, like, we are TV producers. So we’re often thinking about — it’s not that we craft anything — but we’re like, oh God, it would be cool if such and such happened, because that would be a really good story. And then the Superfans will be like, No, we like this person, or we want this to happen, and we have to go, oh, well, that’s what the audience thinks.”

Alex teased that an upcoming dumping will “drop jaws”, and make it clear that producers aren’t pulling the strings behind closed doors.

“There is no way, if we were decent producers, the result that happens would have happened. There’s some Red Wedding shit coming up,” he said.

Josie pointed out the social posts that go up on Instagram each year asking for Superfans to apply, and shared a tip for those keen to throw their hat in the ring.

“There’s a question in the Superfan application that’s like, ‘What’s your favourite Love Island moment?’ And my hot tip is to make that something really niche that will make us laugh. Like, I remember this year someone was like, ‘My favourite moment was from Season 3 when Taku accidentally put a puppy in the pool.’ I was like, ‘That’s niche. That person loves Love Island.'”

Love Island Australia airs Monday – Thursday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Is The Golden Bachelor Australia coming back for Season 2?

The Golden Bachelor Australia has been a hit, with 20 ladies ranging in ages from 51 to 66 vying for widower Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden’s heart. The new spin has injected new life into the tired format, and viewers have been eating it up. So, will there be a Golden Bachelor Australia Season 2, or could we see a fan-favourite contestant, such as Sunny Long, step into the leading role of The Golden Bachelorette Australia?

Thanks to a post shared by an employee of the production company behind The Golden Bachelor Australia, we have the answer. Casting producer Sophie Roberts, who has worked on shows such as Big Brother Australia, Australian Survivor and Hunted Australia, has hinted that The Golden Bachelor Australia is coming back for Season 2.

She shared a casting post looking for new single contestants looking for love. “Fabulous single women — we want you! Are you 48 or over, single, and ready to find your forever love? We’re looking for confident, vibrant Australian women to join The Golden Bachelor and share an unforgettable journey of romance and connection. If you know someone amazing or if that’s YOU, I want to hear from you,” Sophie wrote.

“This is your chance to celebrate love, life and new beginnings in style. Don’t wait, contact me and make this your golden moment!”

The graphic she shared confirms that The Golden Bachelor is currently casting for Season 2, and it looks like they don’t have their leading man yet. “Men and women 50+ looking for love. To apply or nominate someone you think deserves to find love, go to: goldenbachelorcasting.com.au. Open to residents Australia-wide,” the poster reads.

Sunny’s daughter, Chloe, tells Chattr that she would be open to seeing her mum back on the show again. “If [the show is coming back] I would prefer her to be the Golden Bachelorette! That would be so fun to watch,” she says.

How do you apply for The Golden Bachelor Australia Season 2?

The production company behind The Golden Bachelor Australia currently has casting applications open on their website, and you can either apply or nominate somebody you believe would be perfect for reality TV. Should we all nominate Sunny to keep her on our screens?

Potential applicants are required to answer a plethora of questions about their past relationships, dating and relationships, family and friends, life, what they want in a future partner, and must also list their height, sexual orientation and cultural background. Casting producers also ask for recent photos so they can see what you look like.

There’s also a chance to upload a video explaining why you are perfect for The Golden Bachelor Australia, so if you’re wanting to get on reality TV, this is your chance!

The Golden Bachelor airs on Sundays and Mondays on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MKR’s Lol and Lil dismiss idea they’re Colin and Manu’s favourites: ‘Disgusting comments’

Lol and Lil have faced some nasty comments since competing on My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025, but there’s one narrative that they’ve labelled “disgusting”. Some MKR fans online have accused judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel of having favourites, and claim the pair prefer Lol and Lil because of the way they look and dress.

The contestants say they see Colin and Manu as father figures, and dismiss any talk of favouritism. “It’s definitely not a narrative we want to be a part of,” Lol tells Chattr. “There’s been some really disgusting comments. And Manu and Colin have families and teenage daughters, and I just think everyone needs to have some respect for every party involved.

“They have teenage daughters, [imagine] you log online and you see things about your dad, or things like that. It’s not even really about us. There’s a few parties involved.”

Lil agrees and says people have taken it too far. “They really did support us along the way, and we had a good connection with them, like we laughed at their jokes, they laughed at our jokes. It’s honestly just friendly banter, and people just take that and run with these crazy stories,” Lil says.

The eliminated MKR contestants think the narrative is “ridiculous” and feel people are wasting their time by floating odd theories online. Besides, the Logan Bogans didn’t take out the title, so if there was even a hint of bias in the competition, it didn’t help them win $100,000.

Would Lol and Lil return for MKR: Back To Win?

The bubbly best friends have had their ups and downs on MKR, but their cooking has gone from strength to strength. They have listened carefully to the feedback from the judges, and in their semi-final, the pair showcased some technique when cooking lobster.

Lol says it they were invited back for MKR: Back To Win, she would be there, “hands down”. However, she’d have to convince Lil to step back into the kitchen.

“I don’t know. I think one’s enough for me,” Lil admits. “It was really good, it was a great experience. But I’m like, the pressure. I don’t do pressure, and that pressure was next level… maybe with a little bit of convincing, I might change my mind.”

The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Golden Bachelor’s Sunny’s daughter explains feminist reaction: ‘Needs someone aware of racism and sexism’

The Golden Bachelor’s hometown visits took a meaningful turn when Sunny’s daughter Chloe asked Bear if he was a feminist, and the marketing professional explained why his answer was so important to her.

Chloe told Chattr that Bear’s response would reveal a lot about how he might treat her mum — something that’s crucial for any woman, but especially for Sunny, given her background.

Although Bear initially said he wasn’t a feminist, he later clarified that he hadn’t realised the term refers to equality between the sexes. While Chloe let his original answer slide, she told Chattr that she wasn’t sure if he was right for her mum after the home town visits.

“I had really mixed feelings about Bear when I first met him. He came across as super charming, kind, and grounded… honestly, almost too good to be true,” she explained.

“And unfortunately, with men, when they seem too good to be true, they usually are. I couldn’t help but be a little suspicious. Then, when he said no to my question about being a feminist, I was honestly shocked.

“I honestly wasn’t sure if they were a good match. I was a bit worried that he was too quiet and reserved for my mum, who is the total opposite: outgoing, loud, and full of energy. But after watching the show and seeing their dynamic on screen, I actually think they complement each other really well. It feels like they balance each other out in a really nice way. Her energy brings him out of his shell, and his calmness grounds her.”

Why Chloe thought Sunny was more invested than Golden Bachelor Bear

After Chloe and her sister Penny spoke with Bear privately about his feelings for Sunny, they told their mum they believed she was more invested than he was. Throughout the season, we’ve seen Sunny emerge as a clear frontrunner for Bear’s heart, so what made her daughters come to the conclusion that her feelings weren’t reciprocated?

Chloe explained to Chattr that her and Penny’s doubt was rooted in the fact that there were still other women in the mix.

“Bear mentioned he had a really hard decision to make,” she said. “As her daughter, it’s hard to hear that – of course, you want the man she likes to just say, ‘Of course, it’s only your mum for me.’ I understand it’s a strange and unique situation for him, but it’s hard not to worry that her heart might get broken.”

She added that seeing how deeply her mum had fallen for Bear made her even more worried about the possibility of her getting hurt.

“I’d never seen my mum so giddy over a man before. So it was heartwarming to see, but also made me a bit protective. She was clearly excited and wearing her heart on her sleeve, so I couldn’t help but worry she was more invested than he was.”

The Golden Bachelor airs on Sundays and Mondays on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MKR’s Lol and Lil respond to outfit backlash: ‘We’ve got it, so why not flaunt it?’

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 contestants Lol and Lil have been receiving some nasty hate comments over their outfit choices, with some critics saying the two women have been choosing dresses that reveal too much. The pair aren’t bothered by the comments, but call it “ridiculous” and “kind of funny”.

“Most of the comments are being made by women who are a bit older,” Lil tells Chattr. “I just think that surely by the time you reach 70 or 80, you would have a bit more decency and understand that you shouldn’t tear down women based on what they look like.

“It’s just kind of a bit ridiculous. I’m sure probably over half of them have grandchildren our age or kids our age, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t talk to them like that.”

Lol notes that their relatives likely “dress the exact same way”, and says the pair are “comfortable” with what they wear. “We’ve got it, so why not flaunt it?” she jokes. “If they have a problem with that, I think they should just turn the screens off.”

The pair have been busy responding to haters online, with Lil recently revealing she had received 5.7 million views in the past month thanks to all of the engagement on her posts. She’s not fussed by the hate comments and welcomes them because they help raise her profile.

“At the end of the day, I get more engagement. And also it’s kind of funny… you can’t take it too seriously,” Lil says. “These people don’t know me from a bar of soap, they don’t know who I am, so why would I let someone’s opinion of me impact my happiness? I just wouldn’t do that.”

Lil and Lol’s family and friends are “upset” about their clothing backlash

While Lil and Lol aren’t so bothered by the comments about their “revealing” outfits, those closest to them are a bit concerned.

“They’re over it more than us. I think they’re like, ‘What? They don’t even know you! That’s not who you are’,” Lil explains. “They get a bit upset about it, but we are strong enough to not let it affect us.”

Lol adds that if people have “nothing better to do with their time… than comment really poor comments” about their clothing, it simply “says more about them”.

The pair also reveal that producers have the final say on their wardrobe, so everything is “approved” before they wear it on camera. “Obviously, the camera likes certain things, patterns and things like that, so we put forward what we like,” Lol says. “You have to get approval [on what] to wear for each dinner, and everything. Yes, your clothes are all approved by producers.”

It’s good to see that their spirits haven’t been dampened by all the negativity online!

The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Home and Away teases ANOTHER death in upcoming dramatic season finale

The Home and Away finale is approaching faster than a train at full speed.

After we’ve only just managed to get over the death of Theo earlier this year, it appears there’ll be another casualty during the end-of-year finale train crash, and Home and Away fans aren’t sure if they’re ready to go through another traumatic goodbye.

These poor Summer Bay folks. They really can’t go anywhere, can they, without impending doom and drama.

However, as fans speculate about who will meet their untimely end, we could almost predict with full certainty that it’s unlikely to be a fan favourite.

Home and Away cast awaits incoming train
Whose life will be on the line? Image: Seven

Who will die in the Home and Away season finale train crash?

Fans are pretty certain it’ll be newcomer Eddie, Jo’s ex-boyfriend, who recently popped up into the Bay and signed onto Remi and Sonny’s music label.

Other top guesses have been Cash or Sonny, but it seems most likely to be Eddie because he’s not yet a regular cast member. Plus, of course, that leaves the doors open for Jo and Tane.

“Looks like Eddie. If the writers decide to kill Cash, Levi or Sonny there will not be happy fans. You killed off Theo, Bree left, Harper wants to take Archie away from Tane, Mac had a miscarriage – lighten up,” one tired fan said. “We live in a hard world, give us storylines that we can enjoy.”

“Agree it has been a little bit depressing this year it would be nice to have a few happy stories,” another fan commented.

“The [promo] looks like Cash or Sonny. But from what I’ve read and seen, it’s apparently Eddie,” another said, while someone else quipped, “That’s not going to look good for Remi, his first sign up for the business, dies!”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

MKR’s Maria and Bailey defend their grand final spot: ‘We deserve to be there’

The My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 finalists have been confirmed: Maria and Bailey will face off against Justin and Will in an epic grand final battle. While Justin and Will are the favourites to take out the win, we shouldn’t count out the confident Adelaide pair, who tell Chattr they always believed they would make it to the end.

Many fans hoped to see the sweet couple Danielle and Marko in the grand final with Justin and Will, so there has been a bit of backlash thrown Maria and Bailey’s way.

“It’s very clear that a lot of people didn’t expect us to be there. I think we did expect to be there,” Bailey says. “I had a conversation with someone the other day, and I said that no one on this competition is more deserving than each other… no one’s better than each other.”

Maria agrees, saying she’s unsure what people will think of their MKR grand final spot. “I think everyone deserves to be there, and we absolutely deserve to be there, and we worked really hard,” she adds.

MKR is based on elimination rounds, rather than a total score throughout the competition, so Bailey points out that the contestants are only as good as their last cook. And for Maria and Bailey, their last cook was good enough to beat Lol and Lil.

“I think that whoever is, you know, got through to each round, they deserve to be there. So if you’re in the Grand Finale, you deserve to be there,” Bailey declares.

What will Maria and Bailey do with the MKR prize money?

The winners of MKR will take home a whopping $100,000. If Maria and Bailey manage to beat Justin and Will in the grand final, they have big plans for the wad of cash.

Maria plans to expand her cookie business, Blondie’s Bakehouse, and hopes to open up her first storefront. Meanwhile, Bailey has big tech plans in store.

“I want to create an app that’s a little bit like a YouTube or a video program for youth to be able to watch,” Bailey says.

“[Working with] underprivileged youth, that’s what I do for a living, so that they can watch and learn how to cook… really easy [with] things that you can just find in the cupboard.”

The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

How to follow the Love Island Australia 2025 cast on Instagram

Love Island Australia 2025 may have just kicked off, but a scroll through the cast’s Instagram already tells a story.

From sizzling new romances and bombshells to exes popping up where they don’t belong and unexpected revelations, this season is set to be explosive.

So, let’s take a closer look at this year’s cast and the vibes they’re giving on Instagram.

At just 20, Lacey is the youngest islander in the villa, but she’s no stranger to the spotlight. The Sydney-based model and pageant queen most recently represented Australia at the Miss Celebrity competition in Vietnam in 2024.

Going by her Instagram, it looks like she already has a talent agent, Neon Mgmt, which is a global talent agency. I think we have a star on our hands, don’t you?

Yana

Yana is a 21-year-old Sydney-based plumber and is also one of Australia’s top tradie influencers. Judging by her Instagram, she’s a girl who knows exactly what she wants, and she’s no stranger to getting down and dirty. If all of that wasn’t enough of a flex, she also has her own clothing line, Tradie Chicks, that sells work clothing for the ladies.

Sharn

Sharn is a 26-year-old Clinic Manager and Dermal Therapist from Adelaide. Judging by her Instagram, she seems quite reserved but shines in the spotlight… and, of course, being a dermal therapist, she knows how to glow.

Ross

Followers in week one: 5,654

https://www.instagram.com/rossco_music/

Ross, 28, may look like your typical Byron Bay guy with a mullet and moustache, but who is Ross really? A scroll through his Instagram shows him looking like your typical Aussie bloke that loves to be behind the decks as a DJ.

Taking a closer look, previous Love Islander Phoebe Spiller looks to be following Ross as well… coincidence? We’ll let you be the judge.

Cooper

Instagram: Cooperbenson_

Followers in week one: 2,041

https://www.instagram.com/cooperbenson_/

22-year-old Brisbane-based Cooper looks like he has been keeping things pretty quiet on the ’gram, but scroll a little deeper and you’ll find he’s all about boxing, the gym and beach days.

He’s also the only Islander who hasn’t posted a single snap from the villa… so will his Insta following stay as low-key as he is?

Jotham

Instagram: Jotham_russell

Followers in week one: 5,711

Gold Coast local Jotham may only be 23, but he’s already ticked off some massive milestones. He’s spent the past two years in the US playing NFL with the New England Patriots, no biggie.

With that kind of backstory, he’s got serious potential to blow up on Instagram once the Love Island spotlight hits.

Connor

Followers in week one: 7,446

https://www.instagram.com/connor.deighton/

25-year-old Connor is a Gold Coast local who gives total classic Aussie lad vibes on Instagram… but a deeper stalk tells a different story.

He actually lives with Zane from last year’s Love Island, and he’s also linked to former Islander Phoebe Spiller and MAFS 2024 bride Eden Harper. Hmmm… is it all just innocent Insta connections, or is there a little more going on behind the grid?

Gabby

Instagram: gabrielleemccarthy

Followers in week one: 121,000

https://www.instagram.com/gabrielleemccarthy/

Gabby, 21, is originally from Mackay but now calls the Gold Coast home. She’s always had main character energy, and for good reason.

Before stepping into the Love Island villa, she was already an established influencer working with brands like Fashion Nova and That’s So Fetch. Plus, she’s got links to US-Australia talent agency Zooz Group. Hmmm… Love Island USA might just be next on her list if she doesn’t find her soul mate in the Australian villa.

Mick

Instagram: mickmaio

Followers in week one: 116,000

https://www.instagram.com/mickmaio/
/

Mick, 27, is from Melbourne and already made a name for himself as an influencer before stepping into the Love Island villa.

Even though his breakup with fellow influencer Jasmine Tavares, played out publicly on TikTok, Mick’s spotlight hasn’t dimmed as he was crowned one of Melbourne’s most eligible bachelors in a recent newspaper feature.

And, according to his Instagram, he’s also connected with Shane Warne’s son, Jackson. There’s no doubt that Mick is the one to watch in the villa.

Isabel

Instagram: Isabelvella

Followers in week one: 28,700

Isabel, 27, from Sydney, is a businesswoman running her own hair salon, The Cabello Room. She’s already smashing it in the business world, and a scroll through her Instagram shows she’s all about wholesome, wellness vibes. A little telling?

She’s the only Islander this season that Sophie Monk, host of Love Island Australia, follows — maybe she’s in it for the long haul. We’ll have to wait and see.

Kye

Instagram: kye_lambert

Kye, 22, from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, seems pretty low-key on Instagram but looks like he is always up for a good time. Let’s see how his following grows after he tries to find love in the villa.

Fans slam MKR’s semi-final format: ‘Set up for the girls to win’

The first My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 semi-final saw Justin and Will go head-to-head with Danielle and Marko — the two teams widely regarded by fans as the strongest left in the competition.

The match-up meant that Maria and Bailey will compete against Lol and Lil in the second semi-final, with one of those teams guaranteed to be competing in the grand final.

However, many fans are upset that Danielle and Marko and Justin and Will were pitted against each other, and believe those two teams should have been in the finale together, suggesting that the match-up was a way to ensure that Lol and Lil make the grand final.

“[Danielle and Marko] should have been in the final with Justin and Will, set up for the girls to win perhaps,” one person wrote.

Justin and Will in the MKR semi final.

“The girls should have been cooking tonight against Justin and Will, as they got the second-highest score. Then tomorrow night, it should have been the two teams against each other. Can not help but think it’s rigged so the girls end up on the final,” another person penned.

A third person expressed their unhappiness that Danielle, Marko, Justin, and Will were put up against each other, and said they’ll be boycotting the rest of the season.

“I have no idea how they decided to put these two together. In my opinion, they were the best in the competition. The cookie girl and her partner have only got to the semifinals because they cheated. So disappointed that they can do this. Won’t be watching tomorrow.”

How were the MKR semi-final contestant match-ups chosen?

While many viewers believe that the choice to pit Danielle and Marko against Justin and Will was a producer’s ploy to get Lol and Lil into the grand final, some argued that it’s actually the format that MKR has used for years.

“Unfortunately, [Danielle and Marko] were at the bottom of the table, so they had to compete with the top team,” one person wrote.

However, a quick glance back at the MKR 2024 semis proves this theory wrong. Caz and Fergus came fourth in the Ultimate Restaurant Round and competed against second-place team Janey and Maddie in the semis. Meanwhile, Simone and Viviana — who topped the leaderboard in the Ultimate Instant Restaurant Round — were up against third-place team Mike and Pete.

Danielle and Marko in the MKR semi final.
Danielle and Marko in the MKR semi final. Image: Seven.

“They should have been in the finals with the guys. Normally, 1 would play 3 & 2 would play 4,” one seasoned fan commented.

So, if the format remained the same as in 2024, Justin and Will should have competed against Maria and Bailey, while Lol and Lil should have been up against Danielle and Marko.

At the beginning of the first semi-final episode, the narrator simply said that the “top team, Justin and Will”, will face the fourth team, Danielle and Marko, without any further explanation on how the match-ups were picked.

The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.
