MAFS’ Ryan has publicly apologised for those x-rated comments about Jacqui

Following last night’s shocking episode of Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, we expected a little damage control from the cast, in particular from Ryan Donnelly, who was central to the scandalous gossip about his wife, Jacqui Burfoot, that spread like wildfire through the apartment complex, as his fellow grooms spilled tea to their respective wives.

ICYMI, Ryan and the other grooms met with expert Alessandra Rampolla after completing the Fantasy task set during Intimacy Week. While discussing the highs and lows of the challenge, Ryan brought up an ongoing argument between him and Jacqui regarding words of affirmation.

What did Ryan say on MAFS?

During the discussion, Ryan said Jacqui’s “crazy eyes came out”, referencing a comment made by ex-castmate Jake Luik. It went down like a lead balloon with the other grooms and Alessandra, but the situation worsened when Ryan then made a comment about Jacqui being particularly good at a sex act.

While the actual sentence was partially bleeped out, it was clearly graphic in nature, shocking the other grooms and Alessandra.

Naturally, fans were in uproar over the incident, as was Jacqui – who took to Instagram, saying she was “ashamed and disappointed” not simply by Ryan’s comments but by the inaction of other grooms at the time, none of whom spoke up in her defence, and about the gossip that ripped through the other couples.

Ryan apologises on national TV

Ryan has been quick to apologise about the comments, appearing on Today Extra the morning after the episode aired. “I think the medical diagnosis is foot-in-mouth disease?” he joked before saying he is a “massive believer in ownership” and that he looks back at the comments as one of his “biggest regrets”.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to the viewers, to Jacqui, to anyone who was offended by it, to Alessandra for being present in the room,” he continued more soberly.

MAFS' Ryan and Jacqui after their wedding.

Still, Ryan went on the defence at one point. “To put into context, the average person says like 10 times more explicit things on a regular basis with their mates,” he began before adding, “Now, that does not excuse my comment. It was both ungentlemanly and disrespectful and on national television.”

Ryan did not discuss the gossip that spread after his shocking statement and didn’t reference an apology to Jacqui made during the show. However, it’s practically a certainty that the X-rated comments will be brought up once again at the next Dinner Party, and we expect that Ryan will be facing plenty of criticism from both fellow castmates and his wife Jacqui.

Every MAFS 2025 star who has complained about bad editing

So far, it feels like this Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 season has been the most controversial yet, at least when it comes to off-air gossip. Several stars (and anonymous insiders) have spoken out about the reality show’s supposedly bad editing, giving us tea that’s usually reserved for post-show podcast episodes and Instagram “AMAs”.

Fans of Married At First Sight aren’t delusional – everyone knows the show is edited for maximum drama. But just where are those edits placed, and how much of what we see is really what went down? That’s the question that’s being fuelled by the show’s current stars, several of whom have already complained about sneaky producer moves to turn them into villains.

Jacqui says her chaotic energy isn’t the entire story

Jacqui Burfoot has been one of the most fascinating MAFS 2025 brides in the show’s history, from her deep hatred of TV in the bedroom to wedding vows that read more like a job application resume.

But, according to Jacqui, all may not be as it seems on our screens. She recently posted an Instagram Story complaining about MAFS’ bad editing, saying her “character makes no sense” on the show because of a “highly fictional storyline”.

“I can’t sit back and support misleading and deceptive stories,” she added before listing several traits she feels weren’t properly exhibited on MAFS.

Jacqui has also hinted at sneaky editing in a separate Instagram post about Jake Luik‘s infamous comment regarding her appearance.

Jacqui Burfoot claims the "crazy eyes" MAFS comment was made by someone other than Jake Luik.
What didn’t we see from the MAFS Commitment Ceremony? Image: Instagram / jacquelineleejewellery

While she does acknowledge that Jake told his wife Ashleigh Ackerman Jacqui had “crazy eyes” during the Photo Ranking task, she added that “it was an inside joke someone else was making” and that Jake seemed “full of remorse” during the Commitment Ceremony, something that was not aired.

Jake insists “crazy eyes” comment didn’t come from him first

Jake began his time on MAFS 2025 as a fan favourite, but this quickly changed after his damning comments made during the Photo Ranking task. From racist comments about Awhina Rutene to saying Jacqui Burfoot had “crazy eyes”, his behaviour led to the dissolution of his marriage to Ashleigh and attracted the ire of MAFS fans.

Since leaving the show, Jake has given a tell-all interview to The Daily Mail, insisting that what was aired was not the full story, and was instead just bad editing.

Jake’s comments about other brides on MAFS led to a relationship breakdown. Image: Nine

“If you look at just what’s on TV, it makes it look great,” he said. “But a lot of things I said, a lot of things I brought up, just got completely cut from the footage.”

Some cut footage, he alleges, involved Ashleigh disappearing for entire weekends, which made it difficult for them to build a relationship. He also suffered from a serious ear infection during filming, which wasn’t shown during the series.

Most controversial, however, are his claims that it was Ashleigh who called Jacqui “crazy eyes” first. According to Jake, she forgot her fellow bride’s name during a conversation and referred to her as “crazy eyes” in passing.

“I was made to look like I was the only one saying things, but that wasn’t the case.”

Morena claims Tony wanted his IRL wife on MAFS

In a really chaotic move, MAFS bride Morena Farina messaged ex-MAFS star Harrison Boon on Instagram, with Harrison then sharing the messages with Morena’s permission.

In the texts, Morena claims that her relationship with Tony Mojanovski was over before it began, with Tony revealing on their honeymoon that he is still married. While this wasn’t a total dealbreaker for Morena, his alleged revelation during the first Commitment Ceremony was.

Morena Farina's DM's were posted on Harrison Boon's Instagram account.
One of the screenshots shared by Harrison Boon. Image: Instagram / harrison_boon_

“…He told everyone at the Commitment Ceremony, which is this week, that he loves his wife,” she says in the messages, adding that he told producers he wanted them to bring his wife onto the show.

“He wants his wife, and he really thought he could come on the show and get his wife in the show. It would make good TV. What the hell?”

According to Morena, Tony was still pining for his IRL wife. Image: Nine.

Morena said this was a central issue in their relationship, but while she wanted to discuss it on the show, producers told her to “stop talking” about it and to “let it go”, as they were not going to make it a storyline.

“And then the production thinks, ‘Well, I’m gonna give it to her because she’s not doing what we want her to do’. I ruined their filming. This is why there was no footage on our honeymoon,” she continued.

Eliot says his show personality doesn’t reflect real-life

Eliot Donovan‘s short-lived relationship with Lauren Hall was central to the MAFS 2025 drama in early episodes after Eliot complained about Lauren’s age and implied that she spent too much money on designer handbags.

Eliot’s comments about Lauren’s age and spending habits were not well received. Image: Nine.

He eventually left the show (although – spoiler alert – will be returning as an intruder soon), and gave a revealing interview to The Daily Mail, blasting MAFS‘ bad editing.

“It’s so frustrating,” he says in the interview. “It’s so funny with the way that they can like cherry-pick parts of my personality and then not show other parts.”

The groom went on to say that context is lost amongst MAFS‘ bad editing. “It can make it completely different if you’re doing it in a way that sounds harsh and aggressive, obviously it’s going to come out a lot worse. If you’re saying it in defence of something or in a way where you are saying, look, I don’t think it’s fair or this or that, and you add context to it, then I think it communicates completely differently.”

We’ll see if Eliot’s edit turns around when he returns with a new bride.

Tim felt “stitched up” with his story arc

Easily the top villain (so far) of MAFS 2025, Tim Gromie set fans ablaze with his comments and treatment of his wife, Katie Johnston. From criticising producers for not placing him with a younger wife, to abandoning Katie until the first Commitment Ceremony, Tim’s behaviour on screen led to nationwide outrage.

Tim is allegedly refusing to engage with MAFS after his portrayal on screen. Image: Nine.

Since MAFS began airing, Tim has deleted social media, and an insider revealed to The Daily Mail that he wants “nothing to do with the show”.

“He feels he was stitched up from the start and is now just trying to get through it with minimal damage to his career and reputation,” the insider spilled.

Tim has allegedly refused all interviews relating to MAFS, even opting out of a promotional shoot for the series.

With so many stars taking to alternative Instagram accounts to spill tea on MAFS this year, we’re sure there will be more rogue statements about bad editing in the weeks to come.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

“Trapped now”: Jett Kenny and Lily Brown address reports that she’s pregnant

The Amazing Race Australia 2024 alum Jett Kenny and Lily Brown have denied that she’s with a child after the former Ironman shared a bizarre Instagram video, which followers took to be a pregnancy announcement.

Jett shared a carousel of cute photos of the couple, who’ve been together since 2023, and the last slide was a cartoon video of an eagle giving birth to an egg, which hatched, and a photo of Lily came out.

Fans assumed the video was a pregnancy announcement and jumped into the comments section to congratulate the couple — while others questionably sent their condolences. After that, reports started emerging online that the glamorous couple was pregnant.

Are Jett Kenny and Lily Brown pregnant?

No, they’re not. Less than 24 hours after Jett shared the bizarre video the couple took to Instagram to confirm that they’re not expecting.

“I didn’t think I’d have to come on Instagram at 6:15am to address the fact that people think we’re pregnant from an eagle dropping an egg out of its bum and then a photo of Lily emerges, but we’re not pregnant,” Jett said to the camera.

Lily added, “We’re not pregnant for the fucking 1500th time, guys.”

Lily doubled down in the comments of Jett’s eagle birthing post. “How on earth is me hatching out of an eagle’s egg a pregnancy announcement. Not pregnant, for the 1000th time.”

Fans reactions to Jett’s eagle video

Jett’s controversial Instagram post received a slew of well wishes before the couple clarified that they were not, in fact, pregnant.

“Congratulations, you’re pregnant. How exciting. Congrats to the both of you,” one follower wrote.

“Exciting times ahead, congratulations to you both,” another penned.

Meanwhile, some other commentators had some harsh words about the idea of Lily and Jett starting a family, with one writing, “Trapped now.”

Instagram, it’s rough out there.

MAFS’ Jacqui has addressed Ryan’s shocking intimacy week comments

If there was one pivotal moment from last night’s episode of MAFS 2025, it had to be Ryan Donnelly managing to disrespect his wife, Jacqui Burfoot, not once but twice during an Intimacy Week session with Alessandra Rampolla and the other grooms in the experiment.

To recap, Ryan told the group that during their Intimacy Week fantasy task, Jacqui’s “crazy eyes” made an appearance during a discussion about Ryan’s lack of interest and the infamous Photo Ranking task that saw him place his bride in equal third.

Alessandra and the group were unimpressed with Ryan’s lack of respect for Jacqui, but things only got worse. While trying to un-dig the hole he had created, Ryan made a shocking remark about Jacqui being particularly good at a sexual act.

The drama didn’t end there. Once back with their respective partners, the incident spread through the experiment – with everyone knowing about what was said besides Jacqui herself.

Jacqui speaks out on Instagram

Now that the episode has aired, Jacqui has taken to Instagram to give her two cents on how she felt watching it all back.

“The only thing on my mind right now – why has no one had the respect or decency to check in with me at this point?” she wrote, alongside a screenshot of the episode.

Jacqui shared her thoughts around the fellow MAFS 2025 cast members' reactions to Ryan's comments in an Instagram Story.

“Everyone is gossiping like children, and I’m humiliated. Men, I wish you stood up to that ‘locker room chat’ on the spot,” Jacqui continued.

During the episode, we saw Dave Thomas reflect with his wife, Jamie Marinos, on the Intimacy Week moment, telling Jamie he had regrets about not speaking up for Jacqui during the session. Jacqui thanked Dave for realising this in her post but also addressed Jamie, saying she wished that the fellow bride had approached her with the information after receiving it.

Jacqui and Ryan’s relationship has been tumultuous at best, but will this be the final straw? Image: Nine

It looks like the shocking moment will be brought up during tonight’s Dinner Party – how will it affect Jacqui and Ryan’s relationship going forward? Given Jacqui has hinted at finding a new love, we’re going to assume the answer is “not well”!

MAFS 2025 Episode 11 Recap: Ryan makes disrespectful comments about Jacqui

For Episode 11, it’s the grooms’ turn to meet with Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 expert Alessandra, and, as expected, it turned out horribly.

While the other grooms maturely (OK, maybe not Billy at first) and politely discussed how they found the fantasy dates their wives planned, Ryan: Warrior Princess took the opportunity to make his wife, Jacqui, feel even worse than she’s already been feeling about herself.

First, he told the boys that Jacqui’s “crazy eyes” came out—the same thing Jake was criticised for saying and resulted in him leaving MAFS altogether. Then, as if things could get any worse, he motioned that Jacqui was great at “giving” something.

Look, I’m no expert, but I assume he was talking about giving head. People don’t “give” sex, and I don’t think anyone’s raving to middle-aged men about a handjob. Anyway, it doesn’t matter what he was referring to; it matters that he was sharing it, without her knowledge, in a group setting and following another disrespectful comment about her appearance.

It also matters that no one called him out on it in that room.

Ryan didn’t stop there. He went on to explain that it got better “every round” even though there was clearly disgraced faces in the room. Does this man have no self-awareness? Remember, this is the same man who was worried he’d embarrassed his wife when he dropped her at the wedding.

I think it’s now more clear than ever that he is only worried about himself and not Miss New Zealand.

In other news, Morena and Tony had a blow-up — something to do with her talking — and he left for a breather (and some quiet).

Jonathan LaPaglia pinpoints why Australian Survivor is “outplaying” the US version

Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia has just finished filming two seasons of the show for 2025, and fans — both locally and internationally — are waiting with bated breath for them to drop.

The first season to be released will be Australian Survivor 2025: Brain v Brawn II, which premieres on February 17. Ahead of the premiere, fan groups, Reddit threats, and social media accounts are speculating on what will happen this season, which can be attributed to the massive success of Australian Survivor in recent years.

Recently, the New York Times even included Australian Survivor in a list of the best TV episodes for 2023. The article blurb stated that our homegrown version “has been outplaying the US version for a while now”.

So, what makes Australian Survivor so gripping? Jonathan told Chattr in an interview that he believes it’s because Australian producers are sticking to what made the show successful in the first place.

“The US show has really evolved over the years, pushing the boundaries. Some of it worked really well, some not so much,” he told Chattr.

Jonathan LaPaglia with Australian Survivor 2024's Kirby Bentley.

“Personally, I like the push to try new stuff, but I’m guessing some in the audience feel otherwise. We produce a show that is a little more old school.”

Indeed, Survivor US has undergone some major changes in recent years. In 2020, the Winners at War season was released, which is known as the last season of “old-school” Survivor.

Australian Survivor has stuck to the “old-school” format

The New Era (otherwise known as new-school) of Survivor US kicked off in Season 41, and it involves more mental challenges than physical challenges. Plus, the length of time the castaways compete for dropped from 39 days to 26 days.

However, Australian Survivor films for a whopping 47 days and has pretty much stuck to the same format since the franchise’s beginning.

“I’m all for the evolution of the game, so I love new-school players. But I’m also an old-school dude who was introduced to Survivor with all the great old-school players. So I really love both,” Jonathan told Chattr.

A challenge on Australian Survivor Season 1 in 2002

Australian Survivor 2025: Brain v Brawn II will put the mental vs physical strength concept to the test. The season is made up of two tribes: one stacked with physically fit plays and the other made up of… geniuses. So, which quality does Jonathan think is more important to have as a player?

“I think it helps to have a bit of both, and good players typically do. But Survivor is a social game heavily rooted in strategy, so in the end, brains will earn you the crown.”

Is that a spoiler? Surely not!

Australian Survivor 2025: Brains v Brawn II premieres on February 17 on Channel 10 and 10Play.

“You don’t see any crew”: Tina Provis on what really happens behind the scenes on I’m a Celebrity

The latest I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 evictee, Tina Provis, has revealed what filming the show is actually like and opened up about how real the experience feels.

As she exited the jungle on February 10, Tina mentioned that some cameras were unmanned and “the size of your fist”. After appearing on three seasons of the Love Island franchise, she explained to Chattr that she was shocked by how unobtrusive the cameras were.

Tina Provis with the I'm a Celebrity 2025 cast
Tina Provis taking a selfie with the I’m a Celebrity cast. Image: Ten.

“So you pretty much live your life day in, day out, without any production or crew around you,” she explained.

“It really does just feel like you are in the middle of the jungle, and your food is delivered to you in a magic bag if you’re lucky enough to win stars.”

Tina told Chattr that the lack of production crew and filming reminders helped the rest of the I’m a Celebrity Australia cast forget that they were being broadcast nationwide.

“I couldn’t believe the level of alone we were in this jungle. Obviously, that’s not the case. It’s very safe. But I was really surprised with how much we were running our own little mini civilisation in the jungle. It just felt like you were out in the wilderness.”

Tina Provis reveals what helped her open up on a deeper level

During her time in the South African jungle, Tina vulnerably spoke about experiencing racism and bullying when she was younger and struggling with accepting her Asian heritage as a result.

Tina told Chattr that the I’m a Celebrity scene was the first time in her life that she’d spoken about feeling like that, and said that the lack of crew paired with long bouts of downtime helped her speak her truth.

“It is so stripped back and so raw that you find yourself being open in a way that you haven’t before,” she said.

“I had an opportunity to express myself and talk about things that I haven’t really ever spoken about before. I spoke about my experience with my body image and my relationship with food, and that’s not something I’ve really ever touched on with friends or family, but I felt so comfortable in the jungle.”

Tina said her experience on two seasons of Love Island Australia and Love Island Games likely made her more at ease with the cameras than she otherwise would have been.

“I always forget the cameras are there. I think about it as if I were at the mall and there were security cameras,” she laughed. “But I could just be a psycho because I have done a couple of Love Islands.”

“I didn’t really speak about my experience [on Love Island] as a POC [person of colour] because I didn’t really know myself the way I do now.

“I think a lot of my time and my experience in the media has led me to where I am today, where I can talk about it more freely, and having a platform where I can connect with people who have a shared experience has been not only cathartic for me, but I think helped some people feel a little less alone.”

We need Tina back on our TVs, stat!

MAFS’ Jacqui has addressed those “crazy eyes” comments

The MAFS 2025 season started dramatically and continues to shock viewers with drama, and its first Commitment Ceremony was no exception. One of the most gripping moments? When it was revealed to the cast that Jake Luik had made some very controversial comments during the recent Photo Ranking task, one being that bride Jacqui Burfoot had “crazy eyes”.

Jacqui takes to Instagram, addressing the “crazy eyes” comment

Jacqui seemed very unimpressed during the Commitment Ceremony about the comment but has since taken to Instagram to reveal some deeper thoughts.

“I was told from multiple sources that Jake didn’t start the crazy eyes comment,” she wrote in her Instagram Story caption. “It was an inside joke someone else was making.”

Jacqui addressed Jake’s “crazy eyes” comments on Instagram. Image: Instagram / jacquelineleejewellery

Jacqui went on to say that she didn’t actually want the comment to be aired, yelling out that she “didn’t want to hear it” but that Jake’s wife, Ashleigh Ackerman, “went ahead anyway.”

Was Jake thrown under the bus in the Commitment Ceremony?

According to Jacqui, she wasn’t that fussed by the MAFS “crazy eyes” comment and felt that Jake was “genuinely full of remorse”. She explained: “I felt really bad for him and felt like there was more to the story that we didn’t hear. I was quite uneasy, and my gut felt like something was off.”

Was it because Jake wasn’t the only person making the comment?

Jake also addresses the “crazy eyes” comment

Since leaving MAFS 2025, he has also addressed the Photo Ranking task scandal, saying that Ashleigh actually made the “crazy eyes” comment about Jacqui first.

Jake says that after the grooms and brides went off to their respective Bucks/Hens parties, they discussed various members of the experiment. “Ash was trying to explain who Jacqui was,” he said in an Instagram Reel posted to Daily Mail journalist Ali Daher‘s account.

Jake alleged that Ash called Jacqui “crazy eyes” as she couldn’t remember her name at the time. “She actually said that first, and that was all the way back then. And she did repeat it later on.”

While Jake has since left the MAFS 2025 experiment, it seems unlikely that his shocking comments will leave with him – we’re pretty sure some of his statements will continue to cause drama among the couples.

MAFS 2025 Episode 10 Recap: A groom flees before Intimacy Week begins

Welcome to Intimacy Week, the best week of every Married At First Sight (MAFS) season. Each time it airs, I am reminded as to why my vanilla and body-conscious ass could never go on this show. Let’s get stuck into the MAFS 2025 recap, shall we?

The “fantasy” challenge

This episode, Alessandra tasks the brides with planning out their ultimate fantasy nights for their grooms. This basically means a bunch of the ladies wearing lingerie on national television, which, would you believe it, is my ultimate nightmare.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Intimacy is about more than sex, OK? Image: Nine

Jacqui, who is yet to have been fucked by Ryan: Warrior Princess — in the sexual sense, at least — brings her husband along to a lingerie fitting. He looks at her, talks to her and licks his lips at her as if she is a McNugget meal.

Back in their apartment, Jacqui reminds Ryan: Warrior Princess how hot she is. She tells him that it’s OK for him to say he made a mistake (in the photo ranking challenge, which we’re still talking about) and that she is gorgeous. Did he just say, “That would be a lie”? I hope we’re talking about the mistake part.

Morena is feeling so untouched by Tony, telling the girls it’s been seven years since a man has been in her bed. Tony sleeps on the couch, the very same piece of furniture that she lies on, in her lingerie, while telling Tony to paint her like one of his French girls. Tony thoroughly enjoys the experience.

A groom flees MAFS 2025

Oh yeah, Jake literally left MAFS, using not trusting Ashleigh as the excuse. This means Ashleigh also had to leave.

They were my favourite couple during wedding week, so I’m a bit off it, but we will rebuild. How long until we meet the MAFS intruders?

Publisher Penguin Books pulled the wellness cookbook from shelves in 2015 after claims began emerging that Belle’s diagnosis was fraudulent.

Since Apple Cider Vinegar premiered on Netflix, Belle’s story has become a global phenomenon. At the time of publishing, there are five copies of the Apple Cider Vinegar for sale, the most expensive priced at $137 and the cheapest at $60.

Sydney-based comedian Mitchell Coombs, a self-admitted fan of the Netflix show and the Belle saga in general, saw that the cookbook was being sold online.

In a recent Instagram Reel, Mitchell said he placed a bid on the infamous cookbook but was outbid! He asked his followers if he should fight back and place a $173 bid on the book. No word if he ended up winning the auction, though.

What is Apple Cider Vinegar about?

The Belle-inspired Netflix show is set around when Instagram first started.

According to Netflix, the show “follows two young women who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, influencing their global online communities along the way.” This would be incredibly inspiring if it were true.

“This is a true-ish story based on a lie about the rise and fall of a wellness empire, the culture that built it up and the people who tore it down.”

If your heart is set on the cookbook mentioned in Apple Cider Vinegar, perhaps check eBay.

Apple Cider Vinegar is now available to stream on Netflix.

Will Katie Johnston return to MAFS 2025?

After a disastrous first week on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025Katie Johnston and her TV hubby, Tim Gromie, decided to leave the experiment, and neither showed any signs of returning.

Tim and Katie’s relationship was a catastrophe from the very beginning. At the wedding, Tim told a producer that Katie wasn’t his type and that he was hoping for someone “short, petite and blonde or brunette”. On the first night of their honeymoon, Tim admitted to Katie that he didn’t feel a spark, and the pair slept in separate beds.

The pair officially ended their relationship at the first Commitment Ceremony when they wrote leave on their decision cards. But could Katie return to the experiment with someone else?

In previous years, some participants who failed to find love within their first matchup returned to the experiment and were rematched by the experts. For example, MAFS 2024 groom Simon Flocco left the show before walking down the aisle to Michael Felix. Mike was rematched with WA hairdresser Stephen Stewart, and the two re-entered as intruders.

So, will Katie be given the same option? We investigate.

MAFS 2025's Tim and Katie at their wedding.

Will Katie re-enter MAFS as an intruder?

It’s already been confirmed that MAFS 2025 participants Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan will return as intruders and marry new partners after their original coupling didn’t work.

Katie’s troublesome relationship with Tim played out for the entire first week of MAFS 2025, and thousands of fans around Australia—as well as MAFS 2024 bride Lucinda Light—rallied for her. However, despite the support, it doesn’t sound like she’ll be returning to the experiment.

Ali Daher, who’s the senior showbiz reporter for Daily Mail Australia and, more often than not, has inside info on the MAFS contestants, was asked if Katie will return during an interview on A Bit Rogue podcast.

“No,” Ali confirmed. “Lauren comes back, though.”

Will Katie return for the experiment next year?

While it doesn’t sound like she will be donning a white dress again for MAFS 2025, there are already whispers of Katie returning next season.

It won’t be the first time it’s happened, either. Elizabeth Sobinoff first appeared on MAFS 2019 where she was matched with Sam Ball.

Much like Tim and Katie’s relationship, the couple’s union quickly went down in flames. Elizabeth returned for MAFS 2020 and ‘married’ Sebastian Guilhaus, and while they continued to date after the show, they broke up after 14 months.

During Ali’s interview on A Bit Rogue, he laughed that they should “spread a rumour that Katie’s coming back next year”.

And it seems that the plan is already in action. Instagram account MAFS Funny shared a photo of a truck with a huge sign reading “Bring back Katie in 2025”, accompanied by a photo of the bride in her wedding dress.

Fans beg for her return

Although MAFS 2025 has already finished filming, that hasn’t stopped fans from campaigning for Katie’s return.

“Katie needs to be matched to someone else. Get rid of dipstick and match her to someone else. She deserves better!” One person wrote on Instagram.

“She was such a beautiful radiant light! She deserves someone who can match her,” another fan commented.

Whether Katie returns to find love on reality TV or she finds it in real life, we hope she continues to love herself for the beautiful woman she is.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS 2025 Episode 9 Recap: The audacity of these grooms

Some serious guts were being whipped out in front of the MAFS experts tonight, hey? Let’s get right into the MAFS recap for Season 12, Episode 9: our very first Commitment Ceremony.

Who left MAFS?

Lauren and Eliot: Nada. Gone. Non-existent. Farewell! (But we’ll see them again soon.)

Tim and Katie: Tim showed up at the last minute (nice one, production) to say that Katie was too busy checking her emails to get to know him.

Sadly for Tim and the several seasons of shit-stirrers that came before him, John Aiken informs our former emo that he’s a gaslighter. They both write Leave, and I’m fine seeing the back of him — yes, because he’s a big meany but also because I hate how he dresses. Sue me!

Katie and Tim at the MAFS Commitment Ceremony.
thnx fr the mmrs! Image: Nine.

Who’s staying?

Jamie and DaveThey’re having sex and able to be themselves together. Love!

Rhi and JeffThey’ve kissed! But no penetrating because they did that last time and it messed things up, apparently.

Carina and Paul: They’re on “cloud nine” even though they had the chance to be on cloud nine eight months ago without cameras.

Carina and Paul during MAFS 2025 Episode 9.
Not buying it, soz guys! Image: Nine.

Adrian and AwhinaAdrian has done a 180 and now realises that if he loves Awhina, her having a child will not be an issue. This only makes me trust him less.

Sierah and Billy: They’re opening up and Sierah thinks he’s hot, I guess? Nothing major to report on.

Tony and MorenaI don’t know what the fuck’s going on here, but I can tell you one thing: they’re both hating life. Step number one? Practising the pronunciation of Morena’s name until it’s PERFECT.

Morena and Tony have differences at the MAFS commitment ceremony.
THAT’S NOT MY NAME, THAT’S NOT MY NAME. Image: Nine.

Jacqui and Ryan: Wow, Ryan: Warrior Princess actually has the guts to question the MAFS experts’ choice. To their faces. Is this… an acting thing?

He can’t understand why they paired him and Jacqui together, even though they are able to bond over “crypto” and current affairs — something that is absolutely not on my relationship’s bonding chart.

Sadly, they have fundamental issues over the air conditioning temperature and Jacqui’s tendency to laugh when Ryan speaks.

Ryan addresses the MAFS experts on why they paired him with Jacqui.
Please never leave; you are too entertaining. Image: Nine.

Jake and Ashleigh: Jake had the audacity to write “Leave” after giving unsolicited commentary on every woman during the photo ranking challenge. If I had said what he did (I wouldn’t), I’d leave out of sheer embarrassment too.

If he can say things that fucked within Week 2, imagine if he stayed until Week 8. Anyway, fuck it was awkward to watch as the women found out what he said about them. Painful, even.

Kyle Sandilands reveals that doctors have discovered a second aneurysm

Radio host Kyle Sandilands has shared a sad update about discovering a second brain aneurysm in light of his diagnosis earlier this week.

Kyle initially revealed live on air during The Kyle and Jackie O Show on February 3 that he had aa brain aneurysm and requires urgent surgery

“On Friday, I was told by my medical team, which sounds like I’m already very sick, to have a medical team, that I have a brain aneurysm, and it requires immediate attention, brain surgery,” he said.

“So if you just tuned in to us after all these years, lap it up. And if you’re in Melbourne, you’re coming to the party too late. You may get your wish, I may be dead. It’s possible, it’s highly possible.”

Kyle shares an update about a second aneurysm

During the Kyle and Jackie O show that was released on February 7, Kyle explained that the surgery to remove his brain aneurysm would be complex and revealed that doctors discovered a second aneurysm in his chest. Kyle told Jackie that the surgery to remove the aneurysm comes with risks.

“The shape of [the aneurysm] has limited the operation they can do,” he said.

“So, remember, they were going to thread it through a vein and stick a little cannula in there and put this coil in there. Well, mine’s the wrong shape for a coil. So they can’t do that.”

“The only option to get to it is to [open the skull]. That will mean I have this huge scar from the forehead to top of ear and they would have to drill a hole in my skull, go into the brain and clip it off.”

Kyle explained that the doctors have recommended that he wait until the aneurysm gets bigger to do the surgery.

“They have to drill a hole through my skull the size of a drinking glass, pull that bit of skull out and go into the brain and clip it off. So they put a titanium clip on the vein where the problem is, and then they stitch me up with the plastic surgeon.

“He told me to take the weekend to think about it. It’s not going to like it’s unlikely. It’s going to rupture over the weekend. It’s on the smaller side, he said. But he has had he has had patients bleed out with much smaller aneurysms. So it’s not a joke.”

The shock jock added that the doctors found a second aneurysm that could increase his chance of having a heart attack.

“They found another one in my chest and that’s a separate surgery and I have very bad calcium build-up in the heart where I’m likely to have a heart attack,”

Kyle Sandilands explains his original brain aneurysm

When Jackie encouraged Kyle to “think positive” in regard to his recent diagnosis, he responded by saying, “That shit doesn’t work in real life”.

Kyle didn’t reveal exactly when he will be having the surgery but said that he may need up to eight weeks off work.

“It’s not a blockage. It’s like, imagine your blood vessel is the garden hose, and the garden hose is weak and it blisters out like a big bubble, you know, like a puncture in it, like a bike tyre with a big bubble that bubbles the aneurysm, so it’s not blocked,” the Australian Idol judge explained.

“It’s like, it’s expanded, and if it bursts, it’s either a vegetable in the wheelchair or dead.”

Kyle gets emotional about his family

During the segment, Kyle received a video message from his wife, Tegan Kynaston, and his two-year-old son Otto.

The clip showed Otto telling his dad that he loved him and made Kyle tear up live on air.

“Sorry, after seeing that video from my child, it’s really just overwhelmingly sad now,” he said. “I don’t want to leave a wife and a little child. I know my wife has grown up without a father, and I know that that was very difficult for her.”

Jackie reassured Kyle that she believes his surgery would be successful and encouraged any listeners who’ve experienced headaches or similar reoccurring issues to get a brain scan.

Australian Survivor 2025’s Laura Darras: Meet the “good white witch”

Laura Darras is officially Australian Survivor‘s first witch, and she claims her ability to read people’s energies and auras will help her in the game.

Laura is one of 24 contestants competing for the title of Sole Survivor on Brains v Brawn II, and that person will take home the $500,000 cash prize.

Read on to find out more about Australian Survivor 2025 cast mate Laura.

Australian Survivor 2025’s Laura is a witch

Laura, who’s part of the Brains tribe, identifies as a witch and says that she uses spells daily.

“I read people’s energies and see your aura by seeing little colours above people’s heads that tell me what they’re thinking, what they’re feeling and how they are handling any given situation. It’s a skill I’ll be using out here for sure!” She said in her Survivor bio.

Laura owns over 250 crystals and calls herself a “good white witch” who uses her spells in positive ways.

Laura is also an actor

As well as being a witch, Laura is also an actor. She made her stage debut at the age of 15 in Macbeth: The Rock Opera.

Fittingly, she was cast as one of the three Witches and toured England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy with the performance.

She believes that her acting skills will help her game on Survivor, as she’ll be able to get people to do what she wants.

“My friends say I can convince a fish it has legs. I can convince anyone of anything. I can read how people perceive the world, and I can use what they value against them,” she said.

A witch and and actor? It sounds like Australian Survivor 2025 is shaping up to be a bewitching season.

Australian Survivor 2025: Brain v Brawn II airs from February 17 on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Australian Survivor 2025: Meet Candy, the model who has brawn

Australian Survivor is back for its second iteration of Brains v Brawn, and we can’t wait to see who can outwit, outplay, and outlast their competitors.

One of the competitors for the Brains vs Brawn II season is Candy Rule. She hails from country WA where she lived on farms and wineries. While she may look unsuspecting, she packs a punch!

This is everything you need to know about Candy on Australian Survivor 2025.

Australian’s Survivor Candy is a model

WA-born Candy moved to Sydney to pursue her career as a model, where she has worked for many major brands. Some of these brands include Adidas, Universal, Glue Store and Perth-based Poppy Lissiman.

With her model experience, she told 10Play that it would give her a leg up in the competition.

“As a model you must put up with a lot of stuff or else you won’t get hired again. You can be mentally and physically tired, getting accidentally pinned by a tailor or someone burns you with a curling wand, you just get on with it. And that’s what I’ll do on Survivor,” she told the network.

Candy is a Survivor superfan

Not only can Candy outlast a long day on set as a model, but she can outplay every other Survivor-themed birthday party.

According to 10Play, she has been a fan of the series for a long time and had a Survivor-themed eighth birthday party.

The birthday party even included DIY challenges. Fun!

She never gives up

Candy has faced many hardships growing up, she confessed that when she was a young girl she had a learning disability.

“I grew up dyslexic. I wanted to prove to myself that it wouldn’t hold me back, so I got a literature degree. It was a very expensive attempt to prove it to myself haha.”

We think all of these attributes will make her a threat to her competitors on Australian Survivor, Brains v Brawn II.

Good luck Candy!

Australian Survivor 2025, Brains v Brawn II will air on February 17 at 7.30pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play.

The true story behind Apple Cider Vinegar’s cancer scammer Belle Gibson

The spotlight is on Belle Gibson once again with the release of Netflix’s new series, Apple Cider Vinegar, and it has fans questioning the true story behind the series.

Belle initially became somewhat of a household name after she amassed an Instagram following in the hundreds of thousands back in 2013 when she shared her story of beating cancer through natural means. From there, she launched a best-selling wellness app and a cookbook.

However, it was later revealed that Belle never actually had cancer in the first place.

This is the true story behind Apple Cider Vinegar’s Belle and how she faked cancer to profit financially.

Kaitlyn Dever as Belle in Apple Cider Vinegar. Image: Netflix.

Did Belle Gibson actually have cancer?

No. Belle told her followers that she was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009 and later, in 2014, added that she’d also been diagnosed with cancer in her “blood, spleen, brain, uterus, and liver”.

Belle launched a wellness app based on the success of her Instagram account. It was an instant hit, receiving a number one rating in the App Store during its debut month and was named Apple’s “best food and drink” app of 2013.

After that, she signed a book deal for The Whole Pantry cookbook with an advance of $132,000.

Belle publicly said that she’d donate “a large part of everything” to charities. However, according to the Sydney Morning Herald at least five charities that she’d named had no record of receiving any money from her.

In 2015, Belle’s friend Chanelle McAuliffe confronted her with doubts over her cancer claims. Belle refused to come forward, so Chantelle reported her to the police, a lawyer and an investigative journalist. It was The Age who first published details about Belle’s cancer scam.

After the article was published, Belle appeared in a culture-shaping interview with Tara Brown on 60 Minutes, where she admitted that she’d never had cancer.

Was Belle Gibson punished for her cancer lies?

Belle didn’t face criminal charges for her cancer scam. However, Consumer Affairs Victoria sued her in Melbourne federal court in 2016 for violating Australian Consumer Law.

She was fined $410,000 for misleading conduct regarding her health and charitable donations. According to the Herald Sun, Belle hasn’t paid anything.

MAFS 2025 Episode 8 Recap: Jake’s photo ranking shocks

Just when we thought we were rid of MAFS 2025’s shit men this season, more rise from Tim and Eliot’s ashes, perhaps to make the knuckleheads that came before them proud. Let’s discuss:

  • Adrian’s ability to terrify us all
  • Jake’s surprise inner-demon
  • Jacqui’s neverending list of “qualities”

Adrian makes me unwell

Adrian touches every triggerable bone in my body during this episode.

First, he essentially calls Awhina a “shit person” for cheating on her partner (like, a decade ago). Let the record show that Awhina told her partner straight away, and they were able to rebuild.

Do I think cheating’s okay? No. Do I think hearing a new potential partner cheated in a past relationship would be off-putting? Yep. Would I have delivered my stance with more tact than Adrian? I bloody hope so.

Adrian finds out Awhina has cheated on a previous partner during a MAFS 2025 episode.
Someone get this man to yoga to work on his flexibility. Image: Nine.

Adrian then tells Awhina that he’s never cheated himself, but then a producer reminds him that’s only half-true. Hearing a man say “we weren’t officially together” has sent me and takes me right back to being a 19-year-old who believed that nonsense from equally nonsense humans.

Adrian then decides not to partake in a confession letter because, as far as I can gather, he couldn’t be arsed to share his feelings or past. The way he smiles with the producer makes me think he does not care about this relationship and is only here for the upcoming Instagram ride. Or that he’s hiding something. Surely it can’t be worse than Jayden’s from last year?

MAFS 2025’s Jacqui can’t be a real person

Oh, help. Jacqui is listing her achievements again, including—but not limited to—her time as a model. Did you know she was a model?

Jacqui Burfoot reads out her letter to Ryan Donelly on MAFS 2025 Episode 8.
I’m a model. Image: Nine.

“You gave me a resume,” Ryan: Warrior Princess tells her. Why is her mini tanty so … performative? I’m convinced she is an actress of some kind because I refuse to believe she is so unaware.

Ryan listens to Jacqui reading her MAFS letter during Confessions Week.
You forgot to mention the acting degree from NIDA. Image: Nine.

WTF Jake?

When I say my mouth was open the entire time Jake did the MAFS 2025 photo ranking task, I am not exaggerating. Here’s what he thinks of his new friends!:

  • Jacqui: “Crazy eyes”
  • Sierah: “Her face screams I could stab you in your sleep.”
  • Awhina: “I’m not racist but I do like caucasian people mainly…”
  • Morena: He’s sure she was hot when she was younger.
  • Rhi: Bit of a lazy eye, apparently.
  • Carina: Gorgeous but “she knows it”.
Jake Luik does the photo ranking challenge on MAFS 2025.
Who the hell did they pair me with? Image: Nine.

He put Ashleigh fourth. Speaking of fourth, that wall was broken when Jake looked at the camera — I haven’t been that uncomfortable since the Sex And The City pilot.

Ashleigh had a few drinks and went to Sierah’s to no doubt cut rank over the whole unexpected plot twist. Sierah told Billy.

Billy’s response to how Jake acted?

“You look like Jeffrey Dahmer, mate.”

This is everything you need to know about watching the Super Bowl LIX in Australia.

Where can I watch the game in Australia?

The Super Bowl can be viewed on several channels.

For free-to-air, Channel Seven, 7mate, and 7plus will broadcast the game. Foxtel will broadcast it on ESPN, and it will also be streamed on Kayo.

Who is playing in the Super Bowl halftime show?

For the Apple Music Halftime Show, rapper Kendrick Lamar and R&B songstress SZA will be performing for the fans at the Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans.

Kendrick and SZA have collaborated many times on each other’s records, so I’m sure we will be hearing Doves in the Wind or Luther!

SZA and Kendrick Lamar will be performing at Super Bowl LIX.

Will the Kelce brothers be playing each other?

Sadly, no! Travis Kelce, who plays for the Chiefs, will be repping the red and gold on the field. Jason Kelce, his older brother, who played for the Eagles, retired last year, so we won’t see the brothers competing like we did in 2023.

But in a recent TikTok, Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, explained that they will still support the Eagles!

Will Taylor Swift be at the Super Bowl?

Yes, she will be! Taylor Swift was at last year’s Super Bowl when the Chiefs beat the 49ers 25-22. They were heavily papped celebrating her boyfriend’s win.

Jason confirmed her attendance to People Magazine, saying, “I mean, I don’t want to speak for everybody, but I think obviously, our whole family. I believe, obviously Trav and Taylor, and his family and his friends. I mean, Trav always travels like, full.”

What time does the Super Bowl kick-off start?

Due to the Super Bowl being played live, kick-off times vary for Australian states. The Super Bowl armchair expert coverage will air from 9:00am AEDT.
