MAFS’ Evelyn Ellis reveals harsh truth about reality TV: ‘Will push you emotionally’

With Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 about to kick off filming and Farmer Wants A Wife currently casting participants for the 2026 season, reality TV star wannabes have been flooding Evelyn Ellis with questions about what it’s really like.

The MAFS star, who is currently still loved-up with fellow MAFS contestant Duncan James, has done a tell-all on TikTok about the “truth about reality TV”. She’s been on Big Brother UK as well as MAFS, so she’s an expert in this arena.

“I get asked all the time, ‘Hey Ev, should I do this? This person contacted me’. So, here it is. Number one: nothing is for certain. The chances of you walking out with a love story like Cam [Merchant] and Jules [Merchant] or the success of someone like Molly Mae are unlikely, but not impossible,” she began. “If you haven’t got thick skin or are afraid of a little bit of self-criticism, then it’s probably not for you.”

She also warned aspiring reality TV stars that filming days are long, no matter which show they picked. This is true even for shows like MasterChef Australia, with Andre Ursini revealing recently filming days can stretch up to 12 hours long.

“It will push you physically and emotionally, but it doesn’t last forever, so you should probably try to enjoy it,” Evelyn added. Producers also confiscate your phone, so everybody is kept in the moment rather than staring at their screens. For Evelyn, she appreciated the forced break — something many of us could benefit from. “As someone who has really high screen time, I actually liked my phone being taken, because when does that ever happen these days?”

Does a ‘bad edit’ exist?

Evelyn briefly touched on the idea of a “bad” or “villain edit”, with contestants like MAFSOlivia Frazer and Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette Goodhead being outspoken about the production technique.

“Time and time again we hear about participants blaming the edit, and the truth is that producers and editors are humans too, and they’re experiencing everything that you’re experiencing, so don’t be an asshole,” she said.

@evelyn.ellis Some of you guys may have noticed some shows are casting right now, so I hope this video helps for those who may be intrested. Everyone has had different experiences but this is my honest advice 🫶🏻 #doinggodswork ♬ Carmen Habanera, classical opera(1283412) – perfectpanda

She told future reality TV contestants to be open when filming, and “show everything” on camera. “Be yourself. The good, the bad and the ugly. At the end of the day if you do get [cast] and decide to jump into reality TV, keep in mind that people are chosen because they have big, strange and confronting personalities. So you’re not going to be friends with everyone,” she explained.

“Lastly, if you do decide to do reality TV, remember it’s your life right now and not your life forever because it’s very easy to get involved in the drama and let it consume you. And also, you never know. You might just meet your forever partner,” she added.

If you’re still interested in applying for Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 after all of Evelyn’s warnings, you can check out the application form here.

Why are the Stranded On Honeymoon Island contestants so sunburnt?

There’s one glaring problem with Stranded On Honeymoon Island: why are the contestants so sunburnt? We know they’re dropped off on beautiful islands around Fiji with limited supplies, but surely they were provided with sunscreen?

Bride Brie White has addressed the concern shared by multiple viewers who noticed the dangerous detail, and revealed the real reason why she looked so pink on the show.

According to Brie, production supplied all contestants with sunscreen on the island but the contestant opted to use her own brand which she had packed with her. “Obviously on the show I get major sunburnt, there was absolutely sunscreen there, in fact the producers were running around with a sunscreen bottle like chasing me around,” she said on TikTok.

“I refused to put their sunscreen on my face, I brought a sunscreen from home and to put things really simply, I was putting expired sunscreen on,” she admitted. “I was being a little princess and not using their sunscreen. And then they worked it out and it turns out that expired sunscreen can make you more burnt, which is why my face is a lot more burnt than my body.

“You can only blame me and my own stupidity for the sunburn.”

Brie also noted that because there were no mirrors on the island, she didn’t realise how pink she was at the time.

Brie drops hint she’s no longer with Byron

Brie has been sharing lots of sassy TikToks about Stranded On Honeymoon Island, but one caption caught our eye. After making fun of her onscreen husband Byron Molloy for saying he would only want “drama” if he was in a musical, rather than on reality TV, Brie wrote an interesting caption.

@brie..white We called him boring Byron.. @7plus @Stranded on Honeymoon Island #strandedonhoneymoonisland #strandedonhoneymoonislandau #sohi #7plus ♬ original sound – Brie White

“We called him boring Byron…” she wrote. Does this mean Brie and Byron are no longer together?! It’s a little vague, but it’s a big shot to take at someone if you’re in a loving relationship after the show. Plus, the pair hit a snag during an intimacy challenge, when Byron admitted he hadn’t thought about Brie sexually, raising alarm bells.

It’s not clear whether the two are still together, but all signs are pointing to the couple being over. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the next few episodes.

Stranded On Honeymoon Island airs Tuesdays at 8:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

MasterChef’s Audra on her surprise elimination: ‘It wasn’t going to be a stroll in the park’

Fans first met MasterChef Australia’s Audra Morrice in 2012, with her creative cooking captivating MasterChef judges and audience alike. Since then, the talented chef and baker has published cookbooks, runs her own catering business, and has featured as a judge on both MasterChef Singapore and MasterChef Asia, as well as hosting her own shows on SBS, Tasty Conversations and Eat, Roam, Relish.

Somehow, in between juggling numerous projects, Audra found time to return to our screens on MasterChef: Back To Win, making it into the top 10. She was eliminated in the most recent episode after her paella with a yuzu kosho oil failed to impress the judges.

“I’ve always been more about the journey than the end goal,” Audra told Chattr. “I had one little corner of my eye on the prize, but for me it’s about the experience.

“I don’t think I’d have changed anything. Sometimes, you can’t change those panic moments. I think for the most part, I was focused, and I really just loved being in that space of being able to cook and to focus on what I wanted to deliver.”

MasterChef’s Audra debriefs Back To Win experience: ‘You should be better that you were before’

From tourism consulting to authoring cookbooks, Audra’s life has changed dramatically since first appearing on MasterChef in Season 4 in 2012.

Her experiences shaped how she approached MasterChef this time around, with Audra going straight from completing her new SBS series Eat, Roam, Relish back into the MasterChef kitchen.

“For me, that had a huge impact on how I approached MasterChef this time around. Food’s not just about that plate that sits in front of you, it has to connect with the person that’s eating it. And for me, the more meaning there was in it, the better it was, the more delicious it was,” she explained.

“I literally jumped from one show to another without much time!” Audra laughed. “I think it would have been nice to have had maybe a month or two to practice a little more and to give it a bit more thought. But so much of what I did this time around was really just love and instinct for what I do, and that’s just put delicious food on the table. And there was times that it worked, and times due to time pressures that it didn’t.”

Audra on what has changed on MasterChef over the years

Having been on the show in the early seasons, and now coming back over a decade later, Audra said the show doesn’t have many fundamental differences when it comes to the pressure of being back in a competitive kitchen, despite the fancy and technical dishes that often come out of the series now.

“Look, this is Back To Win,” Audra said. “So the expectation is, across the board is you should be better than you were before. However, I guess in saying that not all of us are chocolatiers, some of us are really just focused on the cuisine that we cook. But it is a cooking competition at the end of the day, so people need to be challenged whether you’re comfortable in that space or not. You have to be tested across the board, from A to Z. We all knew that it wasn’t going to be a stroll in the park.”

MasterChef’s Audra on who deserves to win the Back To Win title

When asked who she thought would take out the winner’s title, Audra remained coy.

“I’m not gonna say because I know if I say it, I’m just gonna jinx it!” she laughed. “All I can say is, there’s a handful in this final top eight that will just blow your mind. And they’re just, they’re so ready to win that prize. They’re just incredible.”

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette slams producer manipulation

Despite their happy ending, Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Clarette Goodhead and her partner Farmer Thomas Freeth are speaking out about how the series manipulated their love story.

The 35-year-old teacher has been relatively silent on social media since Farmer Wants A Wife began a few months ago. However, with the FWAW finale and reunion all over, Clarette wants to clear her name.

Chattr confirmed in an interview with fellow FWAW contestant Chelsea Jury earlier this week that Clarette’s edit on the air was not, well, reality. Chelsea told us, “I became quite close with Clarette from the start of the show, and I straight away knew the person she was,” she said. “After getting to know Clarette and then watching how they portrayed her, I couldn’t believe what I was watching.”

“The way they portrayed her was nothing like she really was. Thomas and Clarette had a strong connection from the start, which only progressed as time went on. The hate that they received from viewers was heartbreaking to see because the viewers didn’t get to see anything that went on behind the scenes,” Chelsea explained.

What do Clarette and Farmer Thomas have to say post-FWAW?

This bad faith editing has since been confirmed by Clarette and Thomas themselves. Not only did she write a blog post about it, but in a recent interview with Yahoo Lifestyle the couple asserted that they were victims of “crazy” editing.

“There was one example where they asked me a question, ‘What have you come on here for?’, and I said, ‘I’ve come on here for love. I’m not here just to make friends. Obviously, that’s an amazing byproduct of the experience, but not my priority’,” she said. “They just cut it to say, ‘I’m not here to make friends’.”

Farmer Thomas said his interviews on Farmer Wants A Wife were manipulated, too. In the same interview, he revealed that things he said to one contestant were made to seem like they were said to someone else.

“There was one question they asked me, ‘How did you feel after your last relationship ended?’, and I said, ‘That’s probably the worst I’ve ever felt’. And I saw they used that when Claire left, they used that snippet,” he explained. “I wish they had to show the actual question they asked with the response I gave.”

Despite their villain edit and the ensuing backlash, however, the couple say they are all the stronger for it. They currently live together in South Australia. “We’ve always said, if we can get through all of this, we can hopefully get through anything,” Clarette said. “It’s really tested us, but I feel like we’re pretty much unbreakable now, and we got what we wanted from it. Watch this space, we’re excited for our future together!”

It seems a bad Farmer Wants A Wife edit is no match for the real thing. In her interview with Chattr, Chelsea teased potential wedding bells for the couple. “I definitely think a proposal could happen in the near future, but I think they are just happy living their lives for now.”

We wish Thomas and Clarette many happy returns, villain edits be damned.

Insiders spill on Australian Survivor’s host bloodbath involving Jonathan LaPaglia & David Genat

The entire Australian Survivor community has been in mourning this week, after host Jonathan LaPaglia (JLP) was officially dropped from the Aussie reality TV show. He’s been at the helm for almost a decade, so it’s hard to imagine what the show looks like without him. There have been whispers that former Australian Survivor winner David Genat will replace JLP for the 2026 season, and we finally have some more intel on why.

According to an insider, ‘Golden God’ Genat was originally tested to step in as Australian Survivor host during COVID, just in case lockdowns prohibited JLP from travelling to Fiji. He must have impressed the bosses, because he’s the only name that has emerged on the rumour mill.

While LaPaglia’s emotional statement revealed Network 10 had cited low ratings for the change, Australian Survivor’s Matt Tarrant doesn’t buy it. “Officially, it’s a ratings thing. But I really can’t see it being any other reason than money. JLP is considered in the Survivor world as the best host of any Survivor series, and losing him won’t make the show more popular, nor better, but it will save money,” he tells Chattr.

While the news only broke recently, Australian Survivor alums had been hearing rumours for a few weeks, but Tarrant never thought JLP would actually be removed. “It’s still something that I think has shocked most of us,” he admits.

Shannon Gaitz, who has covered the international versions of Survivor on the popular Rob Has A Podcast (RHAP) network for years, is “very upset” about JLP leaving. “He’s been the ideal face of Australian Survivor and in years of covering it I don’t think I’ve had any complaints about anything he’s done. He seems to have made great connections with the players, and as you can see from the comments on his Instagram post, many seem very upset to lose him from the role,” she says.

“I always hope that show continues to go from strength to strength, but JLP leaving is definitely a loss.”

Are the Australian Survivor players mad at David Genat for replacing Jonathan LaPaglia?

If the rumours are true, and David Genat is the one to fill Jonathan LaPaglia’s shoes, how do the rest of the Australian Survivor players feel? We’ve already heard there has been some support for Raymond Chaney from past winners Feras Basal and Myles Kuah, so will this decision ruffle any feathers?

Matt Tarrant tells Chattr that everybody is sad for JLP, but nobody holds anything against Genat. “David is such an entertaining talent, and if any ex-Survivor castaway could do the role, it’s going to be him. He has experience in hosting with Rush, and he’s one of the best players to play the game,” he explains.

“I don’t think anyone can be mad with David, he’s gotten a dream job all of us would do anything to get — but I think we are all really sad for JLP as he’s such a great part of the show and someone we expected would be with it until the very end.”

At least we will still get to see JLP host Survivor: Australia V The World when it airs later this year. Will we be able to watch without crying? Probably not.

How Dancing With The Stars changed Felicity Ward’s brain

Australian comedienne Felicity Ward is no stranger to a theatrical challenge, and Dancing With The Stars Australia presented her with a dazzling one that changed how she thought about herself forever.

Hailing from the Central Coast, but now living between London and Australia, Felicity had only one hangup over joining the show. And it wasn’t the costumes.

“The only reason I considered not doing it was because I’d be away from my son. Every single other reason screamed yes in a very aggressive way to me. Sequins? Dancing? Probably glitter? Meet incredible people? NO. BRAINER,” she told Chattr in an exclusive interview.

Felicity is a stand-up with a ton of variety show experience thanks to her time on variety shows like House of Games and Thank God You’re Here. These experiences, she says, gave her a perfect edge to enter the ballroom.

“I’m a natural show pony, so although I was nervous and felt hugely vulnerable trying to do something so difficult, I have nearly 20 years of doing stupid things in front of cameras and under lights. While it guaranteed nothing (I still got wildly nervous and excited before dancing), I think it helped a weeny bit.”

Despite her silly, confident stage presence, Felicity has always been open about her struggles with anxiety. But you might be asking how Felicity Ward, a person with anxiety, who isn’t a professional dancer, pushes past the nerves?

“I felt nervous, but Aric is so pumped before he goes on stage, it’s hard not to get excited too. It’s contagious. He’s so ready. So we’d run a part of the dance, I felt like I needed to go over again before we got called. But he always had this “let’s DO THIS” look in his eye, which would get me hyped out of my mind. More nervous to hear what the judges have to say after!” she confesses.

Competition can play havoc on people’s anxiety, let alone nationally broadcast dance competitions. But once she was under those lights and in front of the camera, training for days and weeks at a time, Felicity says her competition quickly became her comrades.

“It’s so funny, even now I forget that we were contestants. I love every single person on that show after working with them. I know that’s probably a boring thing to say, but I didn’t think of it as “going up against” them, I thought of them as “fellow non-dancers trying the scariest thing we’ve probably every done in public and how are we going to get through this together”. We had a Whatsapp group with the girls and we were and are still so supportive of each other.”

How Dancing With The Stars changed her brain chemistry

Post-DWTS, Felicity Ward explains to Chattr how her expectations before, versus after, are night and day. But it’s clear being in the competition, shaking and shimmying her butt off every week had a profound effect on more than just her body.

“I just had some humble dreams of having the single greatest time of my life and curing my mental illness. No pressure. And then the show began. And it became about proving to myself that I could even do it, because initially I found it so hard. And so much harder than I could ever imagine.” Ward tells Chattr, “But that made it so much sweeter when it came time to perform the dance. Because it really took blood, sweat and tears. Well, no blood. Just a couple of bruised ribs and a twisted neck. And athlete’s foot.”

But being no stranger to the epic highs and lows of being on stage, Felicity was all in for Dancing With The Stars. Aside from picking the music, the star of The Office could not get enough of her and her fellow contestants’ glamorous get-ups.

“I had input with the music, which is the only thing I cared about really. Working with Tim Chappell in costume (WHO WAS THE COSTUME DESIGNER ON PRISCILLA, NO LESS!!!) I just wanted to wear his art. The only time I gave feedback was if it wasn’t comfortable or I couldn’t move my body the way it needed to go or if one of my boobs was about to fall out. Which was a very hot topic. And Aric is an INCREDIBLE choreographer. So I just trusted and did everything he told me to. Well, everything I was capable of. And things I didn’t think I was.”

As competitive as she is, Felicity reveals that, for her DWTS was more “about personal growth” by the end. Being in the competition reshaped how the Thank God You’re Here alumni viewed her body and mind and their limitations for the better.

“I don’t know anything about neural pathways, but something got rewired in my brain during the rehearsals and the show. I came back to London, when it was over, with a strength, and a part of my personality, I haven’t seen or felt for five or six years. It was transformative. The show gave me back the ability/necessity to still enjoy things despite other things being hard or stressful. So I suppose I’m grateful, more than proud.”

Catch Felicity Ward on Dancing With The Stars Australia 2025 on Sundays from 7pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.

MasterChef Australia’s Andre spills behind the scenes secrets about the show

MasterChef Australia’s Andre Ursini returned to the show in 2025 after competing in Season 1, and he whipped up some incredible dishes. Sadly, he missed out on a place in the Top 9, but you can go and taste his MasterChef Australia creations at one of his restaurants in Adelaide.

In an interview with Chattr, we decided to ask him for some MasterChef Australia behind-the-scenes secrets. We already know what happens to all the leftover food, but do contestants hang out after hours? And do they get close with the judges outside of filming?

Here are all the MasterChef Australia secrets Andre spilled.

How long are MasterChef Australia filming days?

According to Andre, filming days can vary with some stretching up to 12 hours, but there’s a lot of downtime where contestants are required to wait in the green room.

“They were long days, but it wasn’t like they were heavily active. So you’d get off the couch in the green room, so you’re doing nothing, you’re lying around, and then you have to get up and you’re in the most intense environment for 75 minutes [during a cook],” he explains. “You go from zero to a million miles an hour, and then the adrenaline dump after is just nuts. It’s so unusual, and it’s so hard.

“It’s really, really challenging. It’s such a strange environment, and each person who goes through that deserves a clap.”

Do the MasterChef Australia judges interact with the contestants outside of filming?

The judges don’t spend time with the contestants outside of filming, with Andre saying MasterChef Australia is “very professional” and there are “significant boundaries”.

However, Andre is close with Poh Ling Yeow from when they competed together, and he told Chattr a sweet story about how she checks in on all eliminated contestants. “One thing which I love, which demonstrates how genuine she is, Poh really invests in time with each contestant that leaves to ensure that she contacts them, makes sure that they’re okay, how they felt and so forth,” he says. “She’s a gem.”

Do the contestants practice cooking outside of hours?

Many MasterChef Australia contestants practice cooking outside of filming so they can be on their A-game for the competition, but Andre didn’t touch his tools for the entire time he was there.

“I was a weird one because I actually didn’t cook. I cooked one dish in my apartment over three months and it wasn’t cooking… it was a salad,” he jokes. “I had takeaway, I had Uber [Eats] a lot, and I didn’t have any cookbooks in my apartment either,” Andre says. “I did have a different take on the competition. I didn’t train for it, so to speak, like a lot of the others did, and they’re getting rewarded for it.”

Do the MasterChef Australia contestants get together socially outside of filming hours?

Yes! The bonds formed between the MasterChef Australia contestants are genuine. “We’re with each other from say 6am to maybe 7 or 8 o’clock at night, Monday to Friday, give or take. We’re with each other a lot, and even your best friends become a bit annoying. Like I don’t even hang out that much with my wife or my best mates at home,” he jokes. “It’s a strange environment, but often you would have drinks after just to decompress and discuss what the hell just happened, because you’re going through sort of this weird adrenaline dump daily, and you do rely on that sort of feedback from each other.

“We generally did hang out and created this really unique bond with people.”

Do the contestants cook for each other?

Andre never cooked for his fellow contestants, but he did receive a bunch of meals from Jamie Fleming. “Jamie actually cooked a lot for me. I felt like his faux-child because he was cooking me dinner with his Asian techniques and ingredients. That was nice, that was lovely, that was bonding,” Andre spills.

“One of the best dinners we had… we all met, and everyone brought a dish, and it was an incredible dining experience in the hotel. Audra [Morrice] did a dish, Depinder [Chhibber], I bought Uber [Eats] for them, but that was probably one of the most memorable, everyone had their expertise and skill sets in their dish and it was just a really special moment.”

No wonder this environment was the perfect place for Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary to fall in love. Maybe it’s a better place for romance than MAFS.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Australian Survivor fans start petition to save host Jonathan LaPaglia

After almost a decade of hosting Australian Survivor, Channel 10 has axed TV presenter Jonathan LaPaglia (JLP). He has been the main host of the series since 2016, leaving past contestants and fans devastated. Almost 4,500 fans have already signed a change.org petition demanding he be reinstated as host, with the number growing daily.

“Jonathan LaPaglia has been an iconic part of Survivor Australia, bringing charisma, professionalism, and heartfelt dedication to fans across the nation. For several seasons, he has captivated viewers with his unique hosting style, engaging commentary, and unwavering passion for the game… we cannot allow this change to happen without voicing our strong support for JLP to remain the host of Survivor Australia,” the petition reads.

“When hosts are changed, shows frequently see a decline in audience engagement. Thus, maintaining JLP as the host is crucial to uphold the brand integrity and continuing success of Survivor Australia.”

The petition’s creator, Chloe Diment, tells Chattr she was surprised by the response and hopes JLP will see it at some point. “I’ve been in contact with a number of past contestants who all shared their support for the petition. They were all shocked and just as disappointed as the fans to hear the news!” she says.

“I’ve had contestants from the first season to the last sign the petition. Flick [Felicity Egginton] even shared it to her own Instagram story.”

Even Flick has shared the petition on social media. Image: 10

Fans have flooded the petition page with comments about Channel 10’s “huge mistake”, with one calling JLP the “glue” that holds Australian Survivor together. “An appalling decision. If he is replaced, I don’t think I will watch the show because it will never be the same with someone else as the host and the show may fall apart. He needs to be saved,” they added.

“JLP is a core part of what makes Australian Survivor so special. His humour, confidence, and stellar narration set the tone for Survivor AU. Without him, the show risks losing that tone and digging itself into a deeper hole. Please bring back our boy!” another said.

“JLP has shown he is excellent at reading situations, showing compassion, and drawing conversations out of the players. His interactions provide so much insight into the game, and are highly entertaining. I can’t imagine anyone else bringing the same gravitas and humour or bringing out the best in the players as well as he can,” a third wrote.

“He makes this show. Probably won’t watch it with a different host. These shoes are too big to fill,” another commented.

Former Australian Survivor cast members respond to Jonathan LaPaglia news

After Jonathan LaPaglia shared he was “blindsided” by the network and said being fired “hurt like a bitch” on Instagram, his post was liked over 20,000 times and many former Australian Survivor contestants shared their disappointment.

“You are the best host in the business Jonathan LaPaglia,” said King George Mladenov. “Let the game breathe, impartial and ironically hilarious. Your excellent hosting let the Episode 7 Tribal Council unfold the way it did because you had the skills and experience to just let it happen and let it keep going.”

“Not a bad word in the comments lets you know the impact you have left on everyone that played and watched the game. A big part of my experience out there. You might not of shown it but I could tell you were upset every time I got blindsided in the game haha… it’s been a pleasure King,” Luke Toki added.

“My heart hurts JLP. We all think you’re the freaking best! Thank you for making the last 10 years so epic. We’re so lucky to have had you!” Brooke Jowett commented.

“No way! It’s going to be hard to imagine the show without you mate. An actual living legend,” Jordie Hansen said.

Who will be the next host of Australian Survivor?

According to Daily Mail, former Survivor: All-Stars champion David Genat is set to step into JLP’s shoes. A production insider criticised this decision, saying: “Survivor needs someone with gravitas. David is not Jonathan, and viewers will notice that.”

Well, this was one blindside we weren’t expecting. Fans will still get to see JLP host Australian Survivor one last time, as Survivor: Australia V The World was filmed before he was axed.

Stranded On Honeymoon Island’s Jess reveals truth behind ‘body count’ number of 100

The heat has been dialled up on Stranded On Honeymoon Island with the arrival of the Intimacy Crate. Jess and Sam shocked each other and viewers when they were asked to reveal how many sexual partners they had in the past, with both hovering around the same number of 100.

While Jess was “concerned” about telling Sam, the couple appeared to come at it from a place of no judgment. So why did the castaway decide to be honest on national TV and spill such an intimate secret? Jess tells Chattr she wanted women to feel “empowered”, and calls any criticism of a woman’s body count an “archaic stigma”.

“I’m confident in who I am, and I believe that women should feel empowered to learn about and express their sexuality. However, of course, I was apprehensive about sharing this number on TV,” she admits.

“This alone reflects the way that many women feel; nervous about being honest because they want to avoid judgment, but similarly tentative about being dishonest, or framing themselves in a light that shows they are sexually inexperienced. We really are straddling the line between owning our truth or being perceived as uptight or boring.”

Jess and Sam on Stranded On Honeymoon Island

Jess says she considers her past sexual experiences to be private, but has experienced some negative reactions when she has decided to share more information in the past. “I have certainly experienced judgment or considered [as] a red flag for [my sexual history],” she says.

“Sex should be fun and enjoyable. It has the potential to bind a connection in an intimate and unique way and there is absolutely no shame in two individuals wanting to explore the physicality of their connection.”

She can’t speak for men, but if she had to take a guess as to why some men are threatened by a woman’s sexual past could come from “protectiveness” or “unwillingness to imagine sharing”, or potentially even a “fear of not being able to satisfy her sexually”.

“For women, the ‘body count’ stigma is unfortunately still so prevalent in modern-day dating,” she adds. “It’s an archaic stigma based on dated assumptions that sex should be with one person only for the purpose of procreation.”

Are Jess and Sam still together today?

At this stage, Jess and Sam have had a bit of a bumpy ride. After having a disagreement, Sam disappeared for hours to meditate, leaving Jess worried sick. However, this intimacy task seems to have repaired their relationship slightly. So, are they still together after Stranded On Honeymoon Island

MasterChef Australia’s Andre reveals his downfall in the competition: ‘A struggle for me’

Things are heating up in the MasterChef Australia 2025 kitchen, with just nine contestants left in the running for the grand prize. Andre Ursini was sent home during episode 38, after a dessert Pressure Test set by Philip Khoury proved to be extremely challenging.

The contestants were presented with a delicate and intricate dessert called Dawn of a Tropical New Day which they had two hours and 15 minutes to complete. In the end, both Alana and Snez’s recreations were better than Andre, and he was asked to hang up his apron.

Andre tells Chattr that desserts simply aren’t his “thing”, and he knew he had his “work cut out for [him]” when going up against two talented cooks. “They’re powerful, powerful players in MasterChef… I find it really hard to cook authentically when I’m not passionate about something. And this was one of the big challenges. Masterchef for me, you have to be good at everything, Pressure Tests, individual dishes, team challenges and so forth. [So] when it was revealed that it was a plant-based dessert… oh my god,” he laughs. “[I knew] this [was] going to be a struggle for me.”

The cook has launched five restaurants since his first appearance on MasterChef Australia, but plant-based or vegan cuisine isn’t part of his repertoire. No wonder it was the recipe that sent him home. “What happens in my restaurants is I delegate that to the other chefs. Okay, there’s a vegan on table five? [Another chef can] sort that one out. It’s not in my wheelhouse, but I’ve got a newfound respect for it,” he laughs.

“I think Philip Khoury is a very talented pastry chef, and his creation was not superfluous. It had purpose, it was very real and very tricky.”

The MasterChef Australia contestant seemed to be doing well in the challenge, as his strategy was to read the recipe closely and follow it “step by step”. However, it was the final page of the recipe that really pushed him over the edge.

“I got to this last page, and I just couldn’t piece together the creation,” he laments. “I was close, and all the elements were beautiful, except for the sponge [was] a little bit too thick [and] I just couldn’t grasp that last page… it was just beyond my skill set in the competition at that moment.”

Where can you eat Andre’s MasterChef Australia dishes in real life?

One of the best parts of MasterChef Australia is watching all the drool-worthy dishes and wishing you could reach out and grab the food to taste. Andre tells Chattr he actually carefully planned all his dishes on MasterChef Australia 2025 to make sure they were able to be recreated at one of his restaurants.

Yes, that’s right — you’ll be able to taste some of Andre’s iconic MasterChef Australia dishes! “I wanted to carry through in one of my special restaurants called Villetta Porcini, a little hut hidden in Adelaide Hills… a real fairyland experience. And the dishes that I came up with in MasterChef will live in that little space there,” Andre spills.

“Every dish that I created on MasterChef, I wanted to have a commercial application to it as well. And that’s why I would never go down the road or spend time doing 12 element desserts, because that doesn’t translate really into a commercial restaurant nowadays, especially casual fine dining. I wanted [my dishes] to be practical… that was part of my goal.”

It’s a “sought after dining experience” so if you aren’t able to snag a seat at Viletta Porcini, Andre is also planning to replicate his dishes for social media. What a delicious way to have the MasterChef Australia legacy live on in the real world.

MasterChef Australia airs on Sunday at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Chef Matt from Billion Dollar Playground Just Catered My Dinner Party—And It Was Next Level

If you’ve watched Billion Dollar Playground, you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about when I mention “the hot chefs.”— Matt and George. On Episodes 2 my group and I were sipping champagne, asking cheeky questions, and laughing about whether they were available for private hire. Turns out, Matt Mirosevich absolutely is.

Recently, I hosted an intimate dinner party and asked Matt to cater it. My guest list? Some of my Billion Dollar Playground guests for a mini-reunion.

The Real Matt

Matt’s not just TV eye candy, he’s one of Sydney’s most accomplished chefs and the founder of luxury catering company Catered by Matt. With over six years in the kitchens of Australia’s finest restaurants, including Sydney’s iconic three-hatted Quay, Matt’s catered for high-end events hosted by Ferrari, Porsche, Salesforce, and even Shaquille O’Neal. He’s got a full team of chefs and wait staff who serve up high-end food experiences for events, weddings, private dinners, holiday stays—you name it.

“Beyond the TV show, this is what I do every day,” Matt shared. “We create experiences that are beautiful, delicious, and stress-free. People should enjoy their night—not run around the kitchen.” And enjoy it we did.

Dinner With the Girls

From the moment Matt and his senior chef arrived, I was officially off-duty. No groceries. No prep. No panic. They came in, unpacked, set up, and made the whole experience feel luxe but relaxed. The kitchen looked like it belonged on a cooking show—and that was before anyone even sat down.

Matt had drinks ready when the girls arrived. Since it was a school night and we’re all health-conscious, we kicked off with non-alcoholic champagne – fancy, fizzy, and honestly, no one missed the booze. Matt actually spent time with us, chatting and laughing, while his chef continued to prep.

A Decadent Feast with a Side of Magic

Before the event, Matt sent over some menu options. The group settled on seafood, except for one guest, who went with an alternative. What can I say? We’re a fussy bunch—but Matt handled it like a pro.

We started with an extensive selection of fancy canapé’s and the standouts were the Pistachio tartlets with goat cheese, olive tapenade, lemon zest, and mint and the spanner crab remoulade delicately served in sesame seed waffle cones topped with caviar and chives. Each bite was beautifully presented and packed with flavour.

We then moved to the main course – Pan-roasted Murray cod served with a delicate pea salad, miso butter, preserved lemon purée, and crispy fried leek. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and just the right amount of richness. We’re a picky bunch when it comes to seafood, but even Monica—my most discerning guest from the show —was so impressed.

Pan-roasted Murray cod served with a delicate pea salad, miso butter, preserved lemon purée, and crispy fried leek

Then came the first dessert showstopper: Macadamia ice cream made on the spot using liquid nitrogen, paired with salted caramel sauce, coconut, and roasted macadamias. We watched the smoky clouds float around as Matt churned the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever tasted. It felt like being in a Michelin-starred Hogwarts with Matt working his magic – we were mesmerized.

The grand finale dessert? A decadent Belgium chocolate mousse with fresh nitrogen-frozen raspberries, Chantilly cream, chocolate crumb, and mint. As certified chocoholics, my friends and I were in heaven – pure bliss.

A bonus of this experience – I didn’t have to fuss about clearing plates and washing dishes. Matt and his chef left the kitchen spotless.

Passion for Creating Culinary Experiences

What you don’t get to see on Billion Dollar Playground is just how charming and deeply passionate Matt is—or how down-to-earth and humble. During the dinner, Matt shared with us that his love for food started early in life when he started working as a kitchen-hand at the age of 13 which only intensified over the years. That passion shows in everything from the seasonal ingredients he uses to the custom menus he curates for each client.

Final Thoughts

My dinner was a total success with all of my friends raving about the experience. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to anyone planning a private dinner, event or party? 100%.

Billion Dollar Playground Ep 8 recap: Indecent requests, romance, heartbreak & a shock exit

If you’ve been following my Billion Dollar Playground journey and weekly episode recaps, you’ll know that this week’s episode is the season finale. It’s been a wild ride watching the rest of the season. The series is truly reality TV gold, full of drama, romance, curveballs and of course demanding guests.

Last week’s drama in Billion Dollar Playground turned up hotter than the 40-degree heatwave tormenting the guests at Sunny Bray. Episode 8 delivered steamy moments, big reveals, and a jaw-dropping exit that no one saw coming.

The episode kicks off mid-crisis: one guest threatens to leave due to the unbearable heat and lack of aircon. Grace, in full damage control mode, scrambles to soothe the situation with earplugs. “It’s every concierge’s worst nightmare,” she confessed on camera.

As the evening unfolded, JB wowed the guests with his smoke-filled bubble gun cocktails—cue Serena’s cheeky pun after bursting a lychee bubble. But while the drinks were playful, the real bombshell dropped behind the kitchen doors: George and Matt have been offered a once-in-a-lifetime catering gig overseas for a world-famous rapper. Six months away. Game changer for them.

An R-rated pass-the-parcel game shakes things up

Back to guest antics — Serena took things from bubbly to indecent when she asked Grace to organise a naughty pass-the-parcel game, complete with a sex toy and a topless man to deliver it. “What about a stripper?” she quips. Grace doesn’t flinch — she’s all for “fun and light-hearted entertainment” and even suggests Jay might be the man for the job.

The crew? Not so thrilled. Heaven and Jay are sent on a mission to find said sex toy while Jasmin is left reeling. She eventually confronts Grace, calling the request “trashy” and “not five-star.” I have to admit, even I was shocked.

A floating breakfast fit for a queen

Meanwhile, luxury continues. The ladies enjoy a floating breakfast (DIY pool trays courtesy of Jay), followed by a glamorous McLaren supercar ride to lunch at Luna Lu. The flirting also continues: “I’m in my McLaren with my new boyfriend,” Serena jokes as George drives her across town. Serena couldn’t keep her hands off him either—literally. George handles graciously with a smile when Grace later asks Serena “How was your hot date?” in front of him.

When Jasmin confronts Grace again about Jay stripping, she points out how she eventually backs down. The strip tease is scrapped — but the adult toy game? Still on the table.

Behind the scenes, tension brews. JB — still rattled from his earlier clash with Grace — finally approaches Serena about the champagne running dry, and later, calls Alex to report Grace’s poor handling of the “strip tease.”

Is this the end of Matt and Nicole?

Romance also bubbles. In a surprise scene, Matt and Nicole are seen in a hotel room in their PJ’s. But the joy is short-lived — Matt reveals he might be heading to America. Nicole breaks down in tears, devastated by the thought of losing him just as things were starting to bloom.

Back at Sunny Bray, guest reviews are glowing. The chefs are declared “out of this world,” the fast cars were a thrill, and Grace is dubbed a “pocket rocket.” But behind the smiles, the battle for leadership heats up.

JB isn’t coming back!

In a major shock twist, Alex reveals it was JB’s last stay with the team. His calls to her undermining his managers sealed his fate — he’ll be reassigned to solo VVIP gigs. Ouch. On camera he says he doesn’t give up easily. “I might have been let go by the team but I’ll be back,” he laughs.

Alex questions Grace about her controversial choices — considering Jay stripping and taking his top off is not something she would have expected he would even be asked. She tells Grace a concierge needs to balance guest requests without compromising their standards and adds it’s something she’s yet to learn (cue clapping and cheering).

The episode ends on a bittersweet note. The chefs toast to their upcoming overseas adventure, and JB bids a surprisingly heartfelt farewell.

A Billion Dollar Playground cliffhanger

Alex leaves us hanging with an end of season cliffhanger: she needs to decide who stays on as the lead concierge for this team.

Jasmin makes an unexpected admission: ‘If Grace is chosen as lead concierge over me, I’m out.” As for Grace? “I’m really good at what I do — and I’m coming for the lead concierge. Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen… it’s on.”

Real reason Farmer Wants A Wife’s Claire messaged Farmer Thomas behind Clarette’s back

The drama around Farmer Wants A Wife 2025’s texting scandal between Farmer Thomas Freeth and Claire Hampson was super spicy this year, after Thomas revealed Claire had slid into his DMs after the show had finished… even though he was loved-up with Clarette Goodhead. Yikes.

While it was a big talking point of the Farmer Wants A Wife reunion, Thomas clarified that he never replied to any of Claire’s messages. “I blocked Claire and she continued to message me on other social media platforms and I never replied to any of them,” he told Chattr in June.

Claire tells Chattr it’s true she tried to get in touch with Thomas, but there was a cheeky reason. According to the Farmer Wants A Wife contestant, there were a few beers involved before she sent her messages.

“I messaged him because I caught up with another girl from the farm and she dared me to message him. I’m not going to back out of a dare after a couple of beers,” she reveals.

“[It was] simply a dare,” she adds, saying she didn’t still have lingering feelings for him at the time.

The brunette has no resentment towards Clarette and Thomas, and is glad the pair are still in a relationship all these months after the show finished. “I think they look cute together and wish them all the love and happiness,” Claire says. “They both went on the show to find love and it looks like they have found that. I am happy for them.”

Will Farmer Thomas and Clarette be getting engaged soon?

At the end of June, Farmer Thomas referred to Clarette as his “future wife” on his Instagram story. How adorable!

Chelsea Jury also hinted the pair could be getting hitched soon, saying a proposal is on the cards. “I definitely think a proposal could happen in the near future, but I think they are just happy living their lives for now,” she told Chattr. “They are the most beautiful couple, and I’m so happy they ended up together.”

Now that all the drama has subsided, it will be interesting to see how Clarette and Thomas adjust to regular life on the farm. Maybe they’ll have a televised wedding on Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 — we’ll just have to wait and see.

You can watch Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Farmer Wants A Wife star defends Clarette and Thomas: ‘Heartbreaking to see’

Another Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 contestant has come forward to defend Clarette Goodhead and Farmer Thomas Freeth after the public “villanised” them and said he’d made the wrong decision. Chelsea Jury, who was paired with Farmer Corey, surprised fans when she recently visited Thomas and Clarette for a catch-up.

She tells Chattr she was in “absolute shock” when she saw Clarette’s portrayal on TV, and warns fans not to believe everything they see. “I became quite close with Clarette from the start of the show, and I straight away knew the person she was,” she says. “After getting to know Clarette and then watching how they portrayed her, I couldn’t believe what I was watching.

“Yes, Clarette was definitely there for one reason, and that was to find love, as were we all, but the way they portrayed her was nothing like she really was. Thomas and Clarette had a strong connection from the start, which only progressed as time went on. The hate that they received from viewers was heartbreaking to see because the viewers didn’t get to see anything that went on behind the scenes.”

Clarette has since spoken out about her “villain edit” in a heartfelt blog post, and has finally started to share snippets of her life with Thomas on social media.

Chelsea backs up Clarette’s claims, and says viewers need to start understanding that reality TV is edited to create drama and increase ratings. “What was shown on TV is not entirely what happened, and people need to realise that the producers were there to create drama and change the narrative,” she adds.

Are Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette and Farmer Thomas engaged?

After Farmer Thomas sparked engagement rumours with a telling Instagram story, we’re all wondering: has this farmer found a wife? According to Chelsea, the pair are extremely loved-up. It’s what they deserve after all the hate thrown their way!

“I caught up with Thomas and Clarette after the show and got to witness their true relationship. They are the most beautiful couple, and I’m so happy they ended up together,” Chelsea spills.

“I definitely think a proposal could happen in the near future, but I think they are just happy living their lives for now.”

Well, Farmer Wants A Wife is certainly the most successful dating reality TV show out there, that’s for sure. No wonder people are desperate to apply for Farmer Wants A Wife 2026

Australian Survivor star confirms axing from Channel 10 show: ‘Epic blindsides’

Australian Survivor and Channel 10 have officially confirmed that Jonathan LaPaglia (JLP) will not return to the show in 2026 after nearly a decade of hosting the Aussie series.

The 55-year-old has hosted the show since its revival in 2016 and will be back on our screens for the upcoming Survivor: Australia V The World series which was filmed in Samoa earlier this year and is due to air in upcoming months.

Channel 10 said the network would be making an announcement “shortly” as to who will take on the hosting role, while JLP has taken to Instagram to share his version of events, saying he felt blindsided when the network called him and told him he wouldn’t be hosting the show in 2026.

Jonathan La Paglia reveals shock at being fired from Australian Survivor: ‘Hurts like a bitch’

“Australian Survivor has seen some of the most epic blindsides over the last 10 years, but this one might just be the craziest of them all….because it happened to me,” JLP wrote on Instagram.

“I received a call from the network thanking me for all my hard work and dedication to the show but for next season they are ‘going in a different direction’. Ratings had dipped a bit recently and they wanted to do something drastic to shake things up. So, for the first time ever this is not a tribe swap, but a HOST SWAP. Yes, you read that right.”

The host went on to say hosting the show had been one of the greatest adventures of his career, expressing his disappointment at having to say goodbye.

“I wish I could say, ‘Before we go to vote, tonight is a little different….no one’s going home’. But I can’t. None of that non-elim bullshit tonight! Someone IS going home. And with no idol in my back pocket, that someone is me,” he continued.

“I have loved and will dearly miss the immensely talented crew, all the crafty players and our loyal sassy audience. I’m a huge fan of this incredible game, always have been, always will be. It has been one of the greatest adventures of my career to helm Australian Survivor, so it is without a doubt the hardest challenge of all to snuff my own torch but here goes: ‘JLP…..the tribe has spoken’.”

JLP confirmed we’d still see him on screens for the upcoming Australia V World series, saying it was probably the “best season ever”.

“But don’t pull out your hankies just yet, I’ll still be at the helm for Australia v World…. probably our best season EVER!” he wrote. “(P.S. Whoever said a blindside is the most humane way to put someone down is an idiot. It hurts like a bitch!)”

Who will take over Jonathan La Paglia’s hosting role for Australian Survivor?

Rumours began to swirl recently that JLP was leaving the show, with some outlets reporting Australian Survivor icon David Genat would be taking over the hosting role.

Daily Mail previously reported that JLP had been “quietly axed” from the series, with an insider saying former Survivor: All-Stars champion David would be filling in his shoes.

Upon the news of JLP’s shock firing, former Australian Survivor stars have spoken to Chattr about the big news and who they think should step into his formidable shoes.

Feras Basal of Australian Survivor: Titans v Rebels fame said he’d vote for Raymond Chaney to take over the role. “Australia adored him, he doesn’t have a single hater, he’s extremely loveable,” Feras told Chattr. “His humour, wittiness, and extreme super fandom make him the perfect host.”

Myles Kuah also backed up Raymond as host, while Nash Gendo from Brains V Brawn II called JLP’s firing “a big shock”.

“It’s a big shock, I mean we don’t know Survivor without JLP,” he said. “Personally, I’ve never met David but we’re going to have to see next season if he can match JLP. But it’s exciting, Survivor needs a change, and a shake up could be good for the franchise.”

Which Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 couples are still together?

At this point, Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) is basically a love factory — over 14 seasons, it’s produced 11 marriages, and 27 kids — and that’s not even including the current season.

But, it looks as though FWAW 2025 will follow in the footsteps of previous years, as all five Farmers left with their chosen Lady.

Now that the season is over, the new couples joined host Natalie Gruzlewski at the Reunion to discuss their relationships and reveal whether they’re still together — and not all of them are.

Channel 7’s new dating show Stranded on Honeymoon Island kicked off on the same night as the FWAW Reunion, which meant that the latter was pushed to the 9pm slot, and didn’t finish until 10:45pm.

So, if you’re were in bed catch up on your zz’s, read on to find out which FWAW 2025 couples stayed together at the Reunion.

Are Farmer Thomas and Clarette still together?

Farmer Thomas and Clarette.

Midway through the season, FWAW 2024 winner Daisy Lamb told Chattr that Farmer Thomas picked Clarette.

“Clarette ends up with Thomas,” she said.

“I do think they’re still together [since the show ended]. I was told by a couple of the girls from Thomas’ farm that Clarette is actually living at the farm. She is a teacher, so I’m assuming that she’s relocated and she’s working at a school there.”

And Daisy was right! At the Reunion, Farmer Thomas and Clarette confirmed that they were still together. However, they explained they’d had a hiccup because Claire had tried to contact him after the show.

“I blocked Claire and she continued to message me on other social media platforms and I never replied to any of them,” Thomas tells Chattr.

Farmer Thomas and Clarette have since released a joint statement on Instagram confirming they’re still together and are very much in love.

“We signed up for love. And what we found in each other is more than we ever expected. Through all the noise, we’ve stuck together, and it’s only brought us closer and made us stronger,” they wrote.

“We’ve kept quiet, out of respect for the process, but now we’re ready to speak for ourselves. We’re still here. Still together. And we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next.”

Farmer Thomas also took to Instagram on June 26 and referred to Clarette was his “future wife”. Aww!

He first shared a photo of the other Farmer Wants a Wife stars, captioning it “My one true bromance,” before posting a sweet snap of Clarette — hinting that if the couple aren’t already engaged, a proposal might be just around the corner.

Are Farmer Tom and Georgie still together?

Farmer Tom was the second to make his final choice. In the end, it came down to Eliza and Georgie — and Eliza was left in tears when he gently broke the news that he’d chosen Georgie.

At the Reunion, Georgie revealed that she took Farmer Tom to visit a house in Wagga — which is 25 minutes from his farm — for her to live in while she decided if she was ready to move to the farm. While Georgie is set on living separately at the beginning, she hadn’t yet moved from her Geelong at the time the Reunion was filmed.

Regardless of the living situation, Farmer Tom and Georgie revealed that were are still happily together.

Are Farmer Corey and Keeley still together?

Farmer Corey and Keeley.

Once again, Daisy knew who the winner was before Farmer Corey’s choice was aired, and she told Chattr that Farmer Corey picked Keeley, but said she’d heard that they split after filming.

“It’s come from a couple of girls that Corey picks Keeley,” the former FWAW winner said.

“But someone says he’s now single. But again, you just don’t know whether to believe the rumours or not until the show ends,” Daisy adds. “This is all alleged spoilers! I never know if people are leading me down the garden path or not with their messages… we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Thankfully, Daisy was on the money about Farmer Corey and Keeley.

But, in a confusing couch session with host Natalie, the couple revealed they’re still together, although Keeley hasn’t moved to the farm yet. However, the pair shared a sweet video on Instagram recently showing they’re still very much in love. Awww.

Are Farmer Jack and Sarah still together?

Farmer Jack chose Sarah as his final pick, and the couple are still together and preparing for her move to the farm. Jack even told Sarah that he loved her during the Reunion. Awww!

Are Farmer Jarrad and Chloe still together?

Farmer Jarrad and Chloe.

Farmer Jarrad didn’t waste time — just two weeks into Farmer Wants a Wife, he’d already narrowed his choice down to Ash and Chloe. But it was Chloe that he chose as his final pick.

Unfortunately, the couple didn’t even stay together until the Reunion was filmed, with Chloe explaining that she broke up with Jarrad.

“At this current time, our lives are on different paths,” she said

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t give us much time as I could give when I was on this experience,” Jarrad added.

Farmer Wants a Wife airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Mix Tape: Love, loss & soundtracks of the soul

Nostalgia, heartbreak, and the songs that defined a generation—Mix Tape, now streaming on Binge, is more than a love story. It’s a deeply emotional reflection on who we were, who we became, and the music that held us together in between.

Mix Tape won the TV Spotlight Audience Award at SXSW 2025 and has received glowing praise. The Guardian called it a “sweet and intense romance,”

I sat down with stars Teresa Palmer and Jim Sturgess, and it’s clear this series isn’t just another romantic drama for them—it’s personal.

“It’s resonating with people already,” Teresa told Chattr. “Everyone’s had that first love. And this show makes you ask, what if you ran into them today?”

Two timelines, one unfinished love story

Set across 1989 Sheffield and modern-day Sydney, Mix Tape follows Alison (Palmer), a best-selling author living an outwardly picture-perfect life, and Daniel (Jim Sturgess), a music journalist grappling with the ghost of first love. When Alison’s debut novel lands in Daniel’s hands decades later, it sets off a domino of memories and unresolved emotions.

“I actually have not played a woman whose trauma manifests the way it does with Alison,” Teresa said. “There’s not a lot of crying and anger and screaming  – Alison is like the silent sufferer. I thought that was quite unique to her.”

The Mix Tape promotional photo.
The Mix Tape promotional photo. Image: Binge.

For Jim, the draw was immediate: “It was really interesting and exciting because I felt immediately connected to young Daniel. I saw a lot of my younger self in him. I just was that kid at school. I was the guy that was obsessed, in music and making mix tapes and dreaming about bands.”

Real love stories aren’t perfect

Both actors were quick to point out how Mix Tape moves beyond clichés. “I love the dynamics of the different relationships, including the current day marriages we explore, because they aren’t necessarily terrible marriages,” Teresa said. “It’s just they’re going through midlife and maybe not seeing or hearing each other the way they should be.”

Jim added: “It was actually the adult relationships that were really nuanced and interesting to me … they are in this space where they’ve raised a family and the child has left the nest and they’re left reintroducing themselves as a couple. It’s heartbreaking if you’re no longer the same people you were when you met.”

Their reflections hit a raw nerve, especially when I asked if the series stirred up memories of their first love.“ Definitely,” Teresa laughed. “My first love was also the first person I ever lived with. We played house and we had dogs together, and it was a beautiful life experience.

“Unfortunately, I broke his heart when we broke up, and I’m sure I’m dead to him. It must be hard seeing me on billboards and I’ve often thought that must be quite annoying – seeing me everywhere I’m popping up.

“You can’t help but draw on your own experience, so I was definitely thinking about him a lot during filming.”

Jim chimed in: “I did use my own life more than I ever have done to connect to my character … Everyone’s been through that kind of thing personally.”

A soundtrack for every heartbreak

The series pulses with iconic tracks from The Cure, Joy Division, and more—each one a carefully chosen heartbeat. It turns out the soundtrack was more than just aesthetic for the actors.

“Mine were very different,” Teresa admitted. “Underground rap, Enya, Tracy Chapman and Danny Rice so I was a bit all over the place. I didn’t really discover the show’s beautiful, iconic music until I was a lot older because I wasn’t quite cool in my music taste. Jim was much cooler.”

Jim nodded. “Weirdly, it was the music I was obsessed with … Growing up in England, those northern bands in the late ‘80s and ’90s were a huge part of my life. I was idolising these kinds of musicians and at 15, I started my own band because of them.”

Jim revealed that he collaborated with director Lucy Gaffy for the show’s music selection. ‘It was one of the greatest things about being involved in Mix Tape. [Lucy] really talked to me and asked me what kind of music Daniel would be listening to.”

And for fans who didn’t know — yes, Jim’s still in a band. “King Curious!” Teresa beamed. “You can find his album online.” Jim loved Teresa’s enthusiasm and promotion of his band “We should’ve worn T-shirts,” he laughed.

The youth that carried the flame

Though the show relies on two timelines, the actors had limited interaction with their younger counterparts, Florence Hunt and Rory Walton-Smith. “We had already filmed most of our stuff before they were even cast,” Teresa said. “But Lucy Gaffy was just so beautiful in the way she pieced all the pieces together. She made sure what the younger versions of us matched our energy.”

Teresa, reflecting on Alison’s evolution, added: “I created this new character of a woman who has completely stripped herself of the accent and Sheffield life and emerged into this new woman who is the Mosman wealthy wife of a doctor.”

Farmer Wants A Wife: Are Farmer Corey and Keeley still together?

Farmer Corey and Keeley were one of the strongest couples on Farmer Wants A Wife 2025. They’ve weathered it all, from accusations that the pair ‘slept together’ during the show to Corey’s undeniable attraction to intruder Chloe. Yet somehow, these two made it to the end and announced they were still together at the reunion.

However, the reunion was filmed yonks ago, so are these two still together now? We’ve rounded up all the clues below.

Are Farmer Corey and Keeley still together today?

Farmer Corey and Keeley announced at the Farmer Wants A Wife reunion that the pair were still together. The couple then confirmed their relationship has lasted months after filming wrapped up by sharing a sweet video on Instagram.

The couple were seen hugging in a field while watching a sunset together. How romantic!

Did Farmer Corey pick Keeley as his winner?

It’s been clear to viewers that Farmer and Corey have grown a strong bond throughout their time together on the show.

However, they’ve repeatedly addressed one main obstacle. Farmer Corey wants Keeley to move to his farm immediately if he picks her. However, Keeley has made it clear that she has a work contract that would allow her to move for six months. Things got worse during the episode that aired on June 16, when Keeley revealed that the contract had been extended.

However, Corey still picked Keeley as his winner, despite the roadblocks that stand in their way.

Farmer Corey’s best mate says Keeley is his “ideal woman”

On the most recent episode of Farmer Wants A Wife, Farmer Corey’s best mate Luke was tasked with getting to know the remaining Ladies. After questioning Jadee, Annie, Chloe and Keeley at the pub, even Luke could see there was something about Keeley that would suit Corey.

He ended up choosing Keeley to have Corey’s next individual date, believing Chloe’s “strong personality” wouldn’t be suitable for the Farmer.

“Another point that Corey raised to me earlier was that he’s had someone in the past who has had a very strong personality,” Luke said. “I’m not saying that’s potentially a bad thing, but judging by Corey’s past, it could be something he might want to avoid in the future.”

“There was one [Lady] that stood out to me, very much as someone that Corey — if Corey was to sit down and describe his ideal woman, I honestly saw it in her straight away.”

Like Daisy said, we’ll have to wait to see how everything unfolds on screen, but all signs are pointing towards Farmer Corey and Keeley at this stage.

Farmer Wants a Wife airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

Clarette Annalisa quickly became one of the most polarising Ladies chasing Farmer Thomas’ heart on Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) 2025, and now she’s sealed the deal, as she was his final pick.

The 35-year-old teacher from New South Wales took a very forward approach to showing her strong feelings for Farmer Thomas, which ruffled a few feathers. But, in the end, Farmer Thomas had no doubt that she was the one for him.

Farmer Thomas and Clarette reveal if they’re still together after the reunion

Farmer Thomas and Clarette shared a joint statement on Instagram about their time on Farmer Wants A Wife once the reunion aired, and it looks like these two lovebirds are still going strong.

“We signed up for love. And what we found in each other is more than we ever expected. Through all the noise, we’ve stuck together, and it’s only brought us closer and made us stronger,” the couple wrote.

“We’ve kept quiet, out of respect for the process, but now we’re ready to speak for ourselves. We’re still here. Still together. And we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next.”

Farmer Thomas picked Clarette at the Final Decision

Heading into his final decision, Farmer Thomas knew that Clarette was the woman he wanted to be with, and he had to break the news to Laura and Rachael.

Once that was done, he met Clarette in a beautiful The Bachelor-esque setting on a farm, where he told her that he wanted a future with her.

“Clarette, you will make the most beautiful wife and mother. Clarette, I love you,” Farmer Thomas said.

“I love you, too,” she responded. Aww!

Are Farmer Wants a Wife’s Clarette and Farmer Thomas still together?

Apparently so! Prior to the FWAW finale airing, Daisy Lamb from last season told Chattr that Farmer Thomas picked Clarette as his winner.

Proof Clarette has moved to be with Farmer Thomas

Chattr has uncovered proof that Clarette has started a job as a teacher at a school in Wudinna near Farmer Thomas, meaning she has likely relocated to be with him.

In a newsletter released this year, Assistant Principal-Secondary Jamiee Bensen wrote: “I would like to welcome Clarette into our Secondary Teaching cohort for 2025. Clarette (Miss G) joins us from New South Wales and is originally from England.

“She is a specialist English teacher and we look forward to the expertise she will bring to our classes.”

Clarette’s strategy of going after what she wants in a confident way clearly paid off — she got what she came for.

Farmer Wants a Wife airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
