The Block Wyatt
  • Wyatt revealed one of his motivations for joining The Block 2026 was to gain a "profile lift" that could help him pursue an acting career.
  • Chantel said her main goal is to win prize money to buy a home for herself and her children and achieve financial freedom.
  • Sev told Chattr she was surprised by Wyatt's acting ambitions, admitting it wasn't something she expected but wished him well.
  • While many former The Block contestants have gone on to careers in media, hosting and podcasting, Wyatt hopes to become one of the first to break into acting.

Tonight’s episode of The Block 2026 was quite a doozy, with several bombshells dropping including the fact that one contestant might have had an ulterior motive behind joining the show — aside from the fun of the game (and the prize money, of course).

As the episode wraps up, Rosco and Lisa are asked in their confessional if Wyatt and Chantel leave early almost every night.

“Yeah, it goes quiet over there,” Rosco responds, while Lisa adds: “I don’t know if it’s every night, but it’s certainly often.”

The scene then cuts to Wyatt and Chantel heading home. During the drive, Chantel calls her kids to check in, followed by a cutaway to a confessional with the couple in which they’re asked why they signed up for The Block.

“For me personally, I would love at the end of the day to get prize money, I would love to put it into getting a house for me and the kids,” Chantel was quick to respond.

“That’s the goal. I’d love to try and build something for the kids.”

She added that she’d love “financial freedom” and to no longer have to struggle as a single mum.

Wyatt then gave his response: “I don’t care for money, I care for free time. Freedom is the end goal, to be able to wake up and to do what I want to do every single day,” he shared.

But then the mood shifted when a producer asked Wyatt a more direct question. “You have spoken about an acting career, so I’ll ask you again, why are you doing the show?” he was asked.

“I guess a profile lift. My dream would absolutely one day to become an actor,” he added. “A profile lift would absolutely help the acting career if I decide to go down that path. I really want to try and pursue that. There’s heaps of ways to answer it, but freedom is the ultimate goal.”

Sev reacts to Wyatt wanting to become an actor after The Block 2026

Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Sev shared that it’s a well-known fact among the cast that the pair have dreams of being in the spotlight.

“We have heard both Chantel and Wyatt have been very transparent in what their objective was by coming onto the show and what they want to sort of achieve post-show, and that’s great for them,” she said.

“They’re honest, and they’ve got an objective there, and so hearing Wyatt’s dreams about being an actor did come as a surprise to me. I just couldn’t put that on my bingo card and be like, I saw this guy being an actor, but good on him!

“I hope it does come through for him, and I hope we see him on the big screen. But yeah, it was wild to sort of hear it at first and go, good for you, bud.”

Typically, The Block stars wind up in hosting and podcasting roles after the show. But acting? Not so much. Perhaps Wyatt will be the first!

The Block airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
