Channel 7 is reportedly in talks with Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Luke Fourniotis to cast him as a lead on popular dating show Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW).
Luke, who is a farmer, was paired with Mel Akbay on MAFS, but the pair struggled to form a connection and chose to leave at the fourth Commitment Ceremony.
But, now that Luke’s left the show single, it may have opened doors for his next reality TV show stint, with MAFS Funny Podcast claiming that Channel 7 is eyeing him for a future season of Farmer Wants a Wife.
“After finally leaving Married At First Sight tonight, I’m told Channel Seven are actively discussing the idea of casting Luke on Farmer Wants A Wife,” The publication claimed.
However, because MAFS is a Channel 9 production, he would have almost certainly signed a contract that doesn’t allow him to appear on other networks for a stipulated amount of time.
“The only slight issue is that, because it’s made by a rival production company for a rival network, it’s unlikely Luke would be able to do anything else for at least 12 months without written permission from Channel Nine due to his contract,” they added.

Is Luke interested in finding love on Farmer Wants a Wife?
The contract issue may not be the only obstacle stopping Luke from joining FWAW. When asked by Pedestrian whether he’d be keen to take part in the dating show, he responded “probably not”.
“I’ve already seen some speculation, like ‘Why hasn’t he been on Farmer Wants A Wife?’ and I mean, I am a farmer, but I’m not just a farmer. I feel like there’s more to me than just the farm,” he explained.
Luke also revealed that he was approached by a casting agent to take part in MAFS, and that he’d never “really thought about going on a reality TV” before.
“I would never have actually thought about doing Farmer Wants A Wife, even though that probably sounds more fitting for me,” he said.
He might not be convinced just yet, but we’re quietly hoping this isn’t the last time we see Luke searching for love on TV.
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
