MAFS 2026 spoiler grass is greener

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026’s Grass is Greener task is different from last year’s. According to a production insider, cast don’t have the option to choose whether to go on a date with their backup match. Instead, they are simply whisked off and forced to do it.

While it’s mostly uneventful, two brides rock the boat by indulging in some flirtatious behaviour: Gia Fleur and Alissa Fay. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as they’re both on rocky terms with their husbands, Scott McCristal and David Momoh.

“There was a bit of flirting with Gia and her potential match. Gia doesn’t see it as flirting, she says she was just comfortable with him because she didn’t want to get with him,” the source spills. “But there was quite a lot of bitching about Scott.”

According to the insider, this causes “turmoil” in Scott and Gia’s relationship, and the couple break up before MAFS Final Vows.

“It’s not just the Grass is Greener challenge, it’s a culmination of everything. It’s him having his ex’s photos on his phone, it’s because Gia kept wanting to leave and Scott didn’t want to go with him, so they were already on the rocks by the time Grass is Greener rolled around,” they claim.

What happens with Alissa and David after Grass is Greener?

Alissa and David also have a tough time during the Grass is Greener challenge, as the bride is seen to be flirting with her backup match.

“At one point, David says ‘I love you’ to Alissa, and she doesn’t really say it back. So they aren’t in a good place to begin with,” the insider says.

However, the Grass is Greener challenge was pretty tame, and according to the source, no participants kept in touch with any of their backup matches.

“It was pretty PG compared; it was pretty okay,” they add.

It doesn’t sound like David will be moving to Adelaide anytime soon.

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
