There seems to be a lot of unaired footage from Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 this year, which means viewers are missing context for certain storylines. One in particular revolves around David Momoh and Alissa Fay, who seemed to be a relatively strong couple until cracks started to show on TV.
However, David tells Chattr he was actually “sceptical” of the relationship and didn’t fall deeply for Alissa until the experts set them a task early on in the experiment.
“We had to write something about our deepest, darkest secret [and] Alissa wrote this massive letter about her feelings, and it was at this point [that] I realised I needed to catch up,” he says. “When she read that letter to me, I was like wow, she’s really falling [for me].”
The groom admits he “was a sceptic” until that point because of a “few things that happened” in the experiment, but this task actually pushed them together.
“My letter had nothing to do about feelings. I was actually talking about a deep, dark thing that happened in the past, and she came out and surprised me with this letter about how she felt. So I feel like that really drove me to push to fall deeper in this relationship.”

Does David have stronger feelings for Alissa than she does in return?
Sadly, David says that after Alissa’s “stimulation” comment, he is “further ahead” with his feelings for the bride.
If you can’t recall what stimulation-gate was, the influencer previously told the experts she wasn’t sure that David was stimulating enough. “I function at a higher frequency,” she said. “[I’m] missing that stimulation, that higher frequency that I would normally get from my relationships, to make me happy.”
A spoiler reveals that the couple do make it to MAFS Final Vows, but it’s not the happy ending we originally envisioned.
“During their Final Vows ceremony, Alissa went first. She reads out her vows, which were apparently quite brutal, and in them she said how her and David, they have no future outside of the experiment, and this apparently left David so furious and kind of blindsided that he just threw his vows down on the ground, refused to read them and stormed off set,” MAFS Funny host Josh Fox claimed.
Ouch. It looks like these two are in for a very bumpy last few weeks.
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
