On paper, there was a lot about David Momoh and Alissa Fay from Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 that made sense. Alissa has said she’s looking for a partner who is “talk, dark and handsome” and David is a fan of “blonde, feminine women”.
The pair also both seem ambitious, with Alissa’s decade-long nursing career inducing the kind of burnout that inspired her to branch out into becoming an influencer. David is also a self-described hustler, working full-time as an e-commerce product manager while grinding away on a bunch of side hustles.
Of course, filming for the season has already wrapped — meaning Alissa and David’s on-screen relationship has fully played out, even though viewers haven’t seen it yet. So, are the pair actually together in real life? Read on to find out everything we know so far.

Are David and Alissa still together?
David and Alissa were one of the strongest couples on MAFS 2026. However, as the season has progressed, their relationship has begun to show cracks, with Alissa teasing in an interview with Chattr that “cracks are starting to show”.
So, did their relationship go the distance or fall apart once the cameras stopped rolling? Here’s everything we know so far.
David and Alissa break up at Final Vows
David and Alissa’s relationship spiralled in the final weeks of the experiment, erupting into a massive fight after he accused her of flirting during the Grass Is Greener challenge. Both declared they were done in the heat of the moment, but David later tried to salvage things at the final Dinner Party. His attempts weren’t well-received by Alissa, who exclaimed that it was too late.
Going into Final Vows, it looked as though Alissa was set to dump David after she told a producer she was “heartbroken” to break his heart. However, David beat her to the punch, telling her that he was walking away because loving her “shouldn’t mean losing myself.”
David bailed out of Final Vows before Alissa even had a chance to read her own vows — in which she’d also decided to dump David — so she ended up reading them out loud… to herself.
Insider claimed viewers would see a wild twist play out at Final Vows
Ahead of Final Vows, we had an inkling that David and Alissa were going to split in a dramatic fashion.
While two sources offer conflicting accounts of what really goes down at Final Vows — with one claiming Alissa brutally dumps David, and another insisting David ends things first before storming off and refusing to hear her vows — they both agreed on one thing: the couple break up at the last hurdle.
A source told Chattr that David and Alissa both went into Final Vows intending to cut the cord on their relationship.
“Basically, they both write that they don’t want to be with each other at Final Vows. But David says his piece first, and then he just walks off, and Alissa doesn’t say anything, because he doesn’t give her a chance to speak, because he just walks away,” the insider said.
Meanwhile, a source told MAFS Funny that Alissa bailed on the experiment right before Final Vows.
“Alissa basically just upped and left, packed her bags, flew back to Adelaide and said, Nah, I’m done. I’m not coming back for the Final Vows ceremony. But of course, she did after the producers begged her, and back to Sydney, she went,” host Josh Fox said.
“And then during their Final Vows ceremony, Alissa went first. She read out her vows, which were apparently quite brutal, and in them she said, how her and David, they have no future outside of the experiment, and this apparently left David so furious and kind of blindsided that he just threw his vows down on the ground, refused to read them and stormed off set, and that was it, done, the end,” he claimed.
Josh went on to claim that Alissa allegedly has a new boyfriend, named Nathan Ryles, who competed on Ninja Warrior a few years ago.
Insider claims Alissa was on the show for clout
A source told Chattr at the beginning of the season that Alissa was on the show for the wrong reasons — and that she didn’t come looking for love.
“Everyone will understand when they watch MAFS, because it was very obvious what she was there for,” they said. “She was only there for her influential career; she wasn’t genuine.”
“Alissa’s groom was gutted, because he was there for the right reasons,” the source continued, with David having said that he’s a genuine person who was looking for the right woman to settle down with.
Prior to MAFS airing, Alissa had over 268,000 followers on TikTok, and was an ambassador for an SA-based car company called Southern Chery. Her accounts show her spruiking a bunch of products and services including underwear, laser eye surgery and of course, cars.
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 Reunion airs on Monday and Tuesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
