While a cheating scandal has been teased for the Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 Reunion, an insider close to production has told viewers not to expect another Jacqui-and-Clint-style hard launch.
Daily Mail Australia reported that a “controversial groom will find himself at the centre of a cheating saga after sliding into the DMs of another bride just days after filming Final Vows”. The publication reported that the texts and voice notes were flirty. However, our source denied the claims, insisting the messages were simply friendly and revealing which bride and groom were involved.
“It was Danny [Hewitt] and Stephanie [Marshall],” the insider told Chattr. “But, there was nothing to it really; Danny just sent Stephanie a couple of friendly texts after Final Vows. I would not call it flirty by any means. It’s been completely blown out of proportion for the sake of making drama for the show.”
The source added that the news of Danny and Stephanie’s texts started circulating when “two women from the cast used it as a chance to create a huge s**t storm.”
The insider stressed that there will be “no new couples at the Reunion.”
Are Bec and Danny still together?
We can’t imagine that Bec would have taken too kindly to Danny sending messages to another woman from the cast after Final Vows, so where does their relationship stand now?
Well, if a recent comment from Bec is anything to go by, it sounds as though Danny and Bec may still be together now — months after the Reunion was filmed back in November 2025.
During an Instagram live with former MAFS bride Awhina Rutene, a fan asked Bec if she and Danny “aren’t together”, and she confirmed they are, revealing they attended the filming of MAFS: After the Dinner Party together just days before it aired on March 11.
“We are definitely together, you’ll see us, we flew to Sydney for the Stan show, but we both live in different states at this point in time,” she replied.
However, Stranded on Honeymoon Island star Georgia Moore shared a TikTok in February of Danny out and about with another woman, suggesting that he and Bec may not have worked out.
With Final Vows just a few weeks away, it looks like we’ll have to wait until then to officially find out if Danny and Bec are still together.
