Not long after Jessica had a romantic slip-and-slide date with Farmer Zac on Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) which ended at the hospital, she decided to pull him aside and tell him she was self-eliminating.

“You can’t really force something that’s just not that, just doesn’t have that little, that extra thing, like that extra spark, like it’s just not there for us,” Jessica said in the episode. Zac agreed, saying “it sucks seeing Jessica so upset and so emotional. It’s horrible, I hate to see people upset, and I did obviously put Jessica back to the farm for a reason, but maybe we’re not quite right for each other.

One of Farmer Zac’s other Ladies, Miranda, made it clear in producer led interviews that she was happy about Jessica’s decision to leave, and called her tears “selfish”. Now, her and Maya have shared their thoughts on whether they think Jessica made the right choice.

Miranda explains why she was happy Jessica left

In an interview with Chattr, Miranda explained why she made comments about being happy that Jessica had decided to leave during episode 5 of FWAW.

“It wasn’t her as a person that I had an opinion on. It was just the fact that we were on Farmer Wants A Wife looking for a farming husband, and if she was crying after being at the farm for two days, I just didn’t really see how she was going to ever move to the farm,” she explained.

“I think it was frustrating knowing we only had limited time with Farmer Zac and someone who didn’t necessarily want to be there or know if they could handle the lifestyle of that, it was kind of taking time away from myself and other girls who definitely knew that they did want that, and I think that’s really where all that came from. I just said, if you can’t do this and you’re going to be crying every day, what’s the point? Just go home, and I still stand by that, because if you don’t want to be somewhere, why are you there? No one was forcing anyone to be there.”

Miranda explained that she wasn’t celebrating Jessica as a person leaving, but more so the fact that she’d made it clear that she wasn’t comfortable on the farm.

“There was the night before, she was crying, telling us girls she didn’t know she wanted to be there, and then the next day she got the date, and it was like, we all wanted that date as well. And now the date’s with someone who isn’t even sure whether she’s going to be here tomorrow or not, so it was just a little bit frustrating in the whole environment.

“I honestly didn’t spend much time with Jessica at all. We didn’t really have any sort of relationship, it was just… it was nothing against her personally. It was just solely the fact that if you don’t want to be here, don’t be here.”

Maya reveals why Jessica really quit FWAW

Another one of Farmer Zac’s Ladies, Maya, weighed in on Jessica’s decision, and had a different take from Miranda, telling Chattr that she was proud of Jessica for the decision she made.

“It was so hard to see Jessica the way she was, especially at the farm, and then at the country ball. I do know that she was struggling a lot with the pressure and the environment. It was sad to see her go, but I do think that that was a decision that she purely made on her own terms, and I’m proud of her for doing that,” Maya told Chattr.

She added that she thinks it wasn’t necessarily potentially being a farmer’s wife that wasn’t aligning with Jessica, but instead, the competition element of the show.

“I think that the environment that we’re in, you are competing I guess, for the same man, and you can’t help but judge yourself and compare yourself,” she explained.

“I, for sure, did it, and I’m sure Jessica did it as well, and I think that that may have just been a little bit too much for her, unfortunately, and so, yeah, I definitely think that it was the environment we were in that really stressed her out.”

“Yes, she cries a lot — she’s a sensitive girl, and I got really close with her, and I’m proud of her for giving it a go. She wouldn’t know what it was like if she didn’t give it a go, it was just her time, and she made her own decision to leave, and I think that that was the right thing for her.”
