Farmer Wants a Wife fans were thrilled to see an unexpected crossover from two former stars: Farmer Jarrad (2025) and Ally Horsburgh (2026).
Ally has appeared in the music video for Farmer Jarrad’s latest banger ‘Wear The Hat’, which features the country singer picking up Ally and taking her to a bar where they danced the night away.
While the chemistry between the two reality stars has inevitably got fans talking, both Jarrad and Ally have insisted that their relationship is simply a friendship — for now.
How Jarrad and Ally first connected
Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Jarrad revealed that he and Ally first started talking after she reached out for advice before her season of Farmer Wants A Wife aired.
At the time, Jarrad was in the USA but was happy to offer Ally some insight into what she could expect from the reality TV experience.
“It was nice to be able to speak to someone who has experienced it themselves as well,” Ally explained.
The connection actually came through Ally’s former Farmer Wants A Wife partner Dylan, who had previously spoken with Jarrad.
“Dylan forwarded me Jarrad’s number, and he was like, ‘I think Jarrad would be a great person to speak to, just to ease your nerves a little bit before the show aired’,” Ally said.
From there, the pair’s friendship continued to grow.
“I feel like it’s a unique thing that we’ve both gone through,” Ally said.
“Jarrad was kind of guiding me and keeping my head on my shoulders before, during and after airing, and then after that, I think a friendship just formed from there.”

That friendship eventually led to Ally starring in Jarrad’s new music video.
For Ally, being involved was an easy decision. “I never would have ever pictured myself to be in a music video, let alone a music video of a dear friend of mine as well,” she said.
“So it was just amazing. But also too, like Jarrad and I have become really good friends. I was just so happy to be a part of something that’s so big for my friend’s career.”
The video was filmed at Full Throttle Ranch in the Hunter, close to where Ally lives, making the experience feel particularly meaningful.
“A lot of Farmer is filmed in the Hunter, and then Jarrad and I became connected through Farmer, and then we’re doing this music video again in the Hunter as well,” she explained.
“So for me, I was like, wow, everything’s just coming together, and I just feel like it’s just a big full circle moment for me.”
Jarrad described the filming day as similarly relaxed.
“Mate, I don’t think anyone was actually working that day,” he told Chattr. “We were just having a good time, and a camera happened to be there.”
Are Farmer Jarrad and Ally dating?
Of course, the romantic tone of the music video has raised one obvious question: could there be more to Jarrad and Ally’s relationship than friendship?
When asked about potential romantic vibes between the pair, they insisted they’re just mates.
“The fans are going to think what the fans want,” Jarrad said.
“We’ll let them ponder over that. But I think for now, whatever our friendship is between Ally and I.”
He did, however, have plenty of praise for his co-star.
“This video was very incredibly easy to film, and even though Ally’s maybe not a top 10 dancer, she’s definitely a top 10 actor and a top 10 looking actor,” Jarrad said.
“So, I think it was very, very easy to film.”
Ally, meanwhile, has been equally clear about the friendship at the heart of their connection.
The pair’s bond appears to have been strengthened by the unusual experience of appearing on Farmer Wants A Wife, with both understanding first-hand what it is like to have their lives suddenly played out on television.
What’s next for Jarrad and Ally?
For now, both stars are focused on their respective futures.
Ally said she’s taking life “one thing at a time” while enjoying being back home with her grandmother and her friends.
“I’m just kind of making sure to stay true to myself and keep my head above water when things get a bit crazy,” she said.
“If anything comes to me, I’ll take up every opportunity given.”
Jarrad, meanwhile, is throwing himself into his music career while continuing to navigate life away from the farm.
After winning Toyota Star Maker this year, he’s preparing to release more music ahead of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, with an album also in the works.
“I’ll have another two out by January for the Tamworth Country Music Festival,” he revealed.
“After that, I’ll be getting back into the studio recording the album, and that should be out sometime next year.”
As for the romance rumours?
For now, it seems Jarrad and Ally are happy to let fans make up their own minds.
