Farmer Wants a Wife 2026’s golden couple, Farmer Zac and Maya, sadly called it quits this week — but in a rare reality TV move, both stars sat down exclusively with Chattr to reflect on their split.
There was no mud-slinging. No finger-pointing. No cryptic social media posts.
Instead, it was a surprisingly wholesome post-breakup chat between two people who clearly still have an immense amount of love and respect for each other.
And because the split was so amicable, we had to ask the question that’s bound to be on every Farmer Wants a Wife fan’s mind: could Zac and Maya ever find their way back to each other?
According to the couple, the door is always open!
“I think it’s at this stage, like, I’ve got absolutely nothing against Maya. Her personality and the person she is is someone I always look for in a relationship,” Zac told us.
“Unfortunately, it’s the distance that made it hard. So I see no reason why, in the future, [we wouldn’t reunite]. You just never know.”
Maya agreed with Zac, adding: “The time right now is just not it but as you can tell, we still have a lot of love and respect for each other and that’s purely because the beginning of our relationship was based off a really good friendship. We hung out like mates almost, and then it just turned into more of a romantic relationship.”
In fact, Maya said they’ve even discussed meeting up again down the track for a casual catch-up, which is certainly a good omen!
“We’ve spoken about catching up and quite literally just going for a beer together,” she said. “And so you never know what the future will hold, nor does anyone, but I definitely don’t have any bad blood against him at all.”
Does Farmer Zac and Maya regret doing Farmer Wants a Wife?
Although this year’s season of Farmer Wants a Wife officially has no success story, both Zac and Maya agree that the show was not to blame for their split.
In fact, they both agreed that they have zero regrets about joining the show!
“I don’t think it says anything about the Farmer Wants a Wife system,” Maya insisted.
“I think that relationships obviously take work and they take time and energy and effort and I think that it’s more about making it last long-term outside of the show. With Farmer Wants a Wife, you’re not always filming, you’re not always having the show around you, so I don’t think it really had to do with them.”
She went on to praise the show for the relationship she had with Zac, no matter how short-lived it was.
“They introduced Zac into my life, and I don’t regret any of that,” she said. “It’s definitely not anything bad on their end.”
“I think that’s a great way to put it,” Zac agreed. “At the end of the day, I came together with Maya, and they were the people that introduced us, and then it’s forming a relationship from there.”
As for whether or not the show could be amended to ensure a greater success rate, the couple had no notes for production.
“The show does a great job of putting people together and putting those tough questions out there of getting to know who people are and you do get a great knowing,” Zac told Chattr.
“I would’ve gotten into a relationship without asking some of the questions you have to ask on Farmer, but that’s what brings you together on a closer level and that’s something I’ve learned going forward.
“I slowly got to know Maya and see her personality really unfold the more time we spent together. And then by the time it ended, it gave me enough time to be like, yep, I 100 percent want to continue this relationship and move things forward.”
Maya added: “I wouldn’t change the structure of it! It’s very rare to find your forever love through a reality TV show so I think they did as much as they could and it’s up to us to continue that relationship outside of it.”
