Why did Eddy Poppy Brodie break up Farmer Wants A Wife

The Farmer Wants A Wife finale may have ended with five couples riding off into the sunset together, but the number of successful relationships is dwindling by the day.

As it stands, Farmer Zac and Maya are the only FWAW 2026 couple still standing. Lucky them!

As for the rest of the ex-couples, they’ve just got their Instagrams back – and they’ve all got a lot to say.

Farmer Alex and Eddy’s fairytale romance became a nightmare at the FWAW reunion. Despite leaving the show together long before the finale, they both confirmed their romance was short-lived, although they didn’t agree on the episode on exactly how long it took until Eddy broke up with Alex.

But now, Eddy is having her say about her tumultuous time on Farmer Wants A Wife, posting a sweet dedication to the women she met on the show while sharing some choice words about her split from Alex.

“Thank you to all of the women who shared this experience with me,” she wrote. “I came into this to find a life partner and I came out with something far better. It doesn’t take long to know something isn’t right for you. Trust that instinct and never apologise for it.” Amen!

Then there’s Poppy, who split with Farmer Jason soon after the FWAW reunion. She posted on Instagram and did not mince her words when it came to her edit.

“What an experience! From the beautiful girls met along the way to the manipulation of editing… who can see past the smoke and mirrors,” she wrote.

Poppy then turned her attention to some of her critics, writing there was “no love to the middle-aged women who hated on me every chance they got.” Ooft.

The post was praised by her Jason’s farm co-star, Jessica, who also copped an unflattering edit after quitting his farm soon after her first date. “You and I forever bonded by the online hate from middle-aged women!” Jessica wrote. “You stuck to your guns and showed women you don’t need to have biological children to have a wholistic [sic] life! So proud, we love you!!”

Ally is yet to return to her Instagram, but Brodie has shared some reflections about her journey with Farmer Jarrad, who she recently announced she had split from.

Brodie expressed disappointment over how their love story was showcased on FWAW.

“One thing I’ve been reminded of is that television can only ever show a small part of a much larger story. While I’m so grateful for the opportunity, it has been hard at times because the story Jarrad and I shared wasn’t always the one that made it to screen,” she posted.

“From the beginning, what we had grew so naturally. It wasn’t loud or dramatic — it was quiet, genuine and something we both chose to protect. Some of my favourite moments with Jarrad were the ones no one will ever see. Those are the memories I’ll treasure most because they belonged entirely to us.

She ended her post by making it clear that her and Jarrad ended amicably. “Through it all, one thing remained unwavering: the respect and support Jarrad and I continued to show one another. Regardless of how our story was told or the fact that I ultimately am not his person, I’m deeply grateful for the grace with which we’ve navigated this chapter together,” she wrote.

What happened to the Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 couples?

Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 may have ended with five loved-up couples, but just one romance appears to have survived outside the show.

Farmer Zac and Maya are still going strong. At the reunion, Maya declared they were “stronger than ever”, while Zac sweetly said their initial “spark has ignited into a flame”. They’re now discussing Maya eventually moving to Adelaide and posted on Instagram a sweet glimpse of their lives together since FWAW wrapped.

Farmer Jarrad and Brodie confirmed their split after appearing happily together at the reunion. In an August statement, they announced: “While we’re not together at this time, we remain an important part of each other’s lives and have a great deal of respect and care for one another.”

Farmer Dylan and Ally have also called it quits. Dylan explained to Chattr that he broke up with Ally a few weeks after the reunion because their futures were heading in different directions, with Ally wanting to settle down while he remains focused on his rodeo ambitions.

Farmer Jason and Poppy are no longer together either. They have given Chattr differing accounts of the breakup timeline: Jason said their relationship unravelled shortly after the reunion, claiming that Poppy dumped him over the phone, but Poppy maintained they continued seeing each other for months afterwards.

Farmer Alex and Eddy split around a month after filming, with Eddy blaming their differing personalities, religion and politics.
