FBoy Island Australia: Where does Sophie and Joshy’s relationship stand now?

Sophie Blackley seemingly left the FBoy Island Australia finale in a state of bliss, she’s reformed an FBoy in Joshy Allen, he’d split the money with her, and the new couple practically skipped off into the sunset together.

But, while things are still peachy for Ziara and Molly their chosen picks, the same can’t be said about Joshy and Sophie.

Are Sophie and Joshy still together?

It’s a sad day for those who believe that FBoys can *actually* reform because it’s been revealed that Sophie and Joshy split just months after the final episode was filmed.

“To be fair on, on our end, I think jumping into something after such a short time [is hard], especially as we live interstate,” Sophie told News.com.au.

“I know Joshy is so business-focused and that’s what attracted me to him as well. He’s very dedicated and so am I. And you don’t wanna ruin the friendship, I don’t think, especially from such a short amount of time. I cherished that much more than jumping into something.”

Joshy added: “That’s kind of the conversation we had after the show anyway, and we both respected each other in that way, anyway. We’re still really good friends – we still chat.”

Is there hope for the couple?

While Sophie and Joshy may not be officially dating, Sophie hinted that there could be some hope for a romantic future for them.

“We’re very strong friends that could or could not lead to anything more,” the 26-year-old told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“We still talk, we’re still really good friends, and I think if anything, the best outcome for me is that we’re going to be friends for life. I think we’re very similar people with good chemistry.”

Are the other couples still together?

A big, resounding yes. Both Molly O’Halloran and Ziara Rae are still dating their respective, Nice Guy ex’s, Nick Brown and Izaya Leota.

Melbourne based Molly and Nick, who lives in NSW, are currently in a long-distance relationship, with the FBoy Island lead looking to make the move to Sydney to be with her boyfie.

“We’ve got a couple of trips booked as well, but then hopefully moving a little bit closer. I have definitely been looking at the job market up in Sydney to just see what’s out there,” Molly told Chattr.

Meanwhile, Ziara told Chattr that she was excited to take her relationship with Izaya public now that the finale has aired.

Ziara and Izaya. Instagram.

“We’ve been so excited. Obviously, we haven’t done anything like the normal boyfriend/girlfriend would do. We haven’t been to restaurants or movies, nothing like that.”

“We came off the island and it was like, ‘What is your favourite colour?’ We just completely jumped the gun because you’re in this completely different environment where emotions are so high,” she admitted.

“So we’ve just been using the time to really get to know each other and spend as much time together as possible and I am so excited to be able to show him off finally.”

MasterChef Recap Episode 36: A cook jeopardises their chances when they can’t pick a dish

It’s MasterChef Australia 2023 episode 36 and it’s Mystery Box time.

This week’s Mystery Box has a twist, and it’s one that the contestants know well, as it’s featured in previous seasons of MasterChef; it’s the Everything Mystery Box.

The home cooks have to use all the ingredients that are in the box in their final dish. Those ingredients? Lamb, sugar snap peas, labneh, Pedro Ximénez sherry, fenugreek, parsley, bacon, and garlic. Is it just me or do these ingredients scream pasta?

The bottom three dishes from the challenge will head into the upcoming elimination round.

The Cook

Brent was a huge fan of all the ingredients in the Everything Mystery Box and said they’re “screaming to be cooked together”. He decided to make a “lamb kofta sort of vibe” with a “pancake thing”.

Brent. Masterchef.

Theo was equally as excited about the ingredients and said that they “play to his strength”. He chose to cook lamb skewers marinated in labneh, a flatbread marinated in bacon fat and a parsley sauce.

The Everything Mystery Box was certainly well received, as Declan said it’s “his kind of mystery box” before he opted for a lamb rosetta.

Declan’s cook. Masterchef.

However, not all of the everything mystery box reviews were glowing. “This has to be the hardest mystery box in MasterChef history,” Rue said.

She started preparing her dish before she confessed to the judges at the twenty-five minute mark that she had no idea what she will make.

Rue. Masterchef.

Rhiannon decided to make Empanadas with Bacon Jam, Malinda decided on an “epic salad” and Kat cooked Grilled Lamb with Sugar Snap Peas Three Ways.

The Judging

Theo was the first to the judges’ bench and he served up a Lamb Skewer with Green Sauce. All three judges gave his plate a round of applause and agreed that it was excellent.

Theo’s dish. MasterChef.

As Kat headed up to the bench she revealed that she was disappointed in her jus, which reduced too much because she mistakenly put it back on the heat after it was ready.

Judge Andy Allen said that while the lamb and the sugar snap peas were “nice”, the lamb wasn’t her “best work”.

Kat’s dish. Masterchef.

Next, Declan stepped up to the judges’ table and presented his dish of Lamb Rosettes with Pork Fat Bacon and Parsley Labneh. Which looks absolutely delicious btw, see below:

Declan’s dish. Masterchef.

And, apparently, Declan’s dish tasted as good as it looked because the judges L-O-V-E-D it.

Rhiannon’s Lamb Empanadas with Bacon Relish didn’t get much screentime, but judge Jock Zonfrillo declared that they were “gold”.

Rhiannon’s dish. Masterchef.

Malissa made a Lamb Spring Salad with a Labneh Puree, which Andy said was “perfectly cooked” and “beautifully seasoned”. However, he pointed out that there was too much whipped labneh, which took away from the rest of the dish.

Malissa’s dish. Masterchef.

The next dish the judges tasted was Rue, who fortunately finally decided what she was cooking before time ran out. She chose to make Seared Lamb Loin with Labneh, Sugar Snap Peas and Fenugreek Sauce.

Although judge Melissa Leong tried to comfort her before trying the dish, the feedback was bad. Jock said the sauce was unbalanced, and Andy said he wanted something more interesting from her. Maybe she should have attempted my pasta idea? Just saying.

Rue’s dish. Masterchef.

Brent was the last to be judged and as he approached with his Lamb Koftas with Labnah, Sherry Glaze, and Garlic Pancakes, he voiced his worries about the Koftas being too dry.

However, he needn’t have worried as Andy went back for seconds of the lamb and all three judges were blown away by Brent’s dish.

Brent’s dish. Masterchef.

The judging

Rue, Kath, and Malissa had the judge’s least favourite dishes, and they will be cooking in the Pressure Cook, where they will compete in a challenge set by Michelin-star chef Clare Smyth.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

FBoy Island star Vernon Lyon’s ex Brogen has reacted to THAT finale scene on Instagram

The finale for FBoy Island Australia was *chefs kiss* thanks to a surprise entrance from Brogen, who joined Molly O’Halloran in taking down ultimate FBoy – and her ex-boyfriend – Vernon Lyon.

ICYMI (or just want a quick catch up), Vernon entered the reality show as an intruder in episode three. Shortly after his arrival, his co-star Mitch Wright outed him as having a girlfriend that he broke up with to come on the show.

Mitch explained to Vernon’s TV love interest Molly, and the other men, that he’d matched with Vernon’s ex, who’s named Brogen (but has been named on Brogan in the media), on a dating app, and said that she revealed her former boo’s grand plan.

Vernon vehemently denied the accusations throughout the entirety of the show, but he did confess to being an FBoy early on in the piece.

THEN, at the finale we discovered that Molly was suss about Vernon’s intentions, so she met up with Brogen. During their conversation, Brogen revealed that Vernon had, in fact, broken up with her to go onto FBoy Island.

“I have a text message on my phone, saying that I’m going there to lie and bulls**t for three weeks and win cash and then when he’s finished here he said he will come out and get me back,” Brogen told Molly, and then aptly showed her the messages.

If that wasn’t enough, Brogen crashed the FBoy Island finale and called out Vernon’s lies, and Molly shared a portion of her winnings with her.

Since the show premiered yesterday, Brogen has stayed relatively low-key on social media. However, she has shared some Instagram stories reacting to the finale.

In the first IG story, Brogen reposted a video from her friend that showed her watching the finale with her hand on her head. “So proud of my bestie calling out fboys,” the pal captioned the clip.

Brogen. Instagram.

The second story is another repost, and shows Brogen strutting into the finale and is captioned: “Came and did her thing.”

Brogen. Instagram.

The third is, again, a repost and is from a fan or friend speaking about Brogen’s beautifully chaotic move on the show. “Oh my god, the real winner here is Brogen, she wasn’t even on the show and she won some money,” they said.

Million Dollar Island recap episode 6: 15 thoughts I had watching the battle for the biggest jackpot yet

It’s Million Dollar Island Australia 2023 episode six and wheel winner Jake is in charge of who will be chosen for the next elimination challenge.

Unfortunately, MDI villain Brett is, once again, the richest man on the island, which probably means we’ll be seeing a lot from him in this episode. Boo.

Here are 15 thoughts I had during episode three of Million Dollar Island Australia, episode four!

1. Wow, grim times. The folks at Log Camp are so hungry that they’re opting to eat the disgusting food from the last challenge which a contestant called “two half-grown ducks inside an egg.”

2. Jake says he’s been “an extra” on the island who’s been sitting in the shadows, and I can’t disagree because the first time I saw him was when he popped up last episode.

Jake. Million Dollar Island.

3. I think I underestimated Jake because he’s not messing around. He puts himself up for the challenge, along with his “good mate” Corey who’s holding $120,000 on his wrist, Georgie who has three bracelets and Annaleise who also has three. That means whoever wins the challenge could receive $200,000 in bracelets.

4. I just realised Jake’s move means the winner should overtake Brett as the richest person on the island and now I couldn’t be more for this plan.

The Challenge

5. This underwater cage challenge is suspiciously similar to the iconic Survivor one.

Corey in the challenge. Million Dollar Island.

6. Jake’s dream of being the “main character” of MDI is rapidly diminishing as he is last in line to go into the cage and admits he’s claustrophobic.

7. Uh-oh Corey wins the challenge and as Brett said, we might be “attending Jake’s funeral”.

8. On the bright side, Corey overtakes Brett again as the richest person on the island. Teehee.

Brett’s reaction to Corey being the richest person on the island. Million Dollar Island.

Challenge Two

9. Jake’s been sent off the island with a medical issue, so there are only two people competing, which ain’t half bad odds.

10. This challenge is pretty boring, can we bring back Brett and his quest to be a “main character” plz?

11. Finally, Georgie wins and even the contestants look relieved that it’s over.

Bored contestants. Million Dollar Island.

The Elimination

12. One of the contestants is having a whinge about other camps not sharing their food with hers. When will people realise that this is an actual game? And the point of the game is to beat others.

13. The elimination was as uneventful as the challenge, only one person could receive a bracelet to stay, and no one self-eliminated, so Annaleise must leave the island.

14. Fortunately, Ant realises that this ep needs some spicing up, so he vaguely tells the contestants “D-Day is officially here”. And, I have no idea what that actually means.

15. YES. We have some excitement. The wheel landed on Corey, who we already know is the richest person on the island, and should mean that we’ll some d-r-a-m-a next ep.

Brett’s face when the power wheel lands on arch-nemisis Corey. Million Dollar Island.

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on June 27 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.

FBoy Island Recap Episode 9: The guys mansplain the s**t out of the final six

If you can bloody well believe it, we’re up to episode nine of FBoy Island Australia 2023 and it’s almost time for Molly, Ziara and Sophie to choose their guys!

But before the decision can be made, it’s graduation time for the dickh**ds FBoys in Limbro! While they may relapse to their godforsaken idiotic ways, they now get to go back to the villa for one last mission! They’re about to “mansplain the s**t” out of the final six!

Binge

The “Mansplain”

To recap, the final two guys are as follows:

  • Ziara — Winner Izaya and aCToR Cory
  • Molly — Cuddle Bear Nick and Big Mouth Vernon a.k.a Vermin
  • Sophie — Brown-Eyed (or blue or hazel or whatever) FBoy Joshy and Draco Malfoy a.k.a Justin

Now, that you’re all caught up, let’s spill some piping-hot tea!

“The ghosts of eliminations past have made their way back to the resort,” Abbie Chatfield says. i.e. The Nice Guys are also back from the Grotto for this ridiculous challenge including Brit Benny who is just itching to throw Draco under the bus one last time….

Ziara is “terrified” and frankly, she should be, because we truly have no idea what s**t about to come out of these guys’ mouths.

Abbie Chatfield. Binge

Molly

Big Mouth Vermin is thrust into the firing line first with Gossip Kween FBoy Mitch bringing up the whole ex saga once again. Did Vermin come onto the island with a GF? Probably. Will he admit it? Non.

Appaz he broke up with said ex three or four months ago, which is weird since he originally told Molly six and Mitch is all like, “Bro, you dumped her for the show”.

Vermin, now red as a beetroot and not because of the sun, says his ex is lying because “she still wants me”, which is basically what every guy who is GUILTY AF says.

Then, doing God’s work, CoNtEnT cReAtoR Lakshya pipes up needing more answers.

Vernon, Molly and Nick. Binge

“She aksed [sic] to meet up actually,” Vermin said. “I said nah, I’m going on a TV show.”

Turns out he hadn’t seen her, but then had been speaking to her but not sleeping with her, but actually, did sleep with her and now she’s out of his life and frankly, this guy changes his mind more than he exchanges numbers at the Coogee Pav!

“Red flag, red flag, everywhere!” Lakshya concludes and AMEN!

Sophie, furious for Molly, yells at Vermin who then reveals his ex’s name is Brogan.

Binge

Wondering Eyes Riccardo then basically says, “Vermin is a hillbilly with a mullet and just marry Nick, already” and let’s move on!

As for Cuddle Bear, the guys are obsessed with him. The end.

“Can Nick do no wrong? Everybody loves him. He’s hot. He’s got a big d**k,” Molly says and that should have been the end of the sentence. However; since she is blinded by VERMIN’S STRAIGHT OUT LIES, she is worried that Nick won’t keep her on her toes. Ugh.

Binge

Ziara

“i just hope nothing pisses me off,” she says. LOL. Good luck, babes.

CoNtEnT CrEaToR Clay reveals that Izaya said he would go out in Melbourne “with or without Ziara” and says that he said it was “to pick up chicks”. Basically, he is just sh**-stirring because AS IF Izaya isn’t head over heels for our girl, Z!

“F**k you, Clay,” Izaya says.

Anyway, we don’t care because Grand High FBoy Caleb throws fire at aCtOr Cory. Once a-goddamn-gain the age debacle is brought up and truly, no one gives AF. Except for Caleb, who is “just speaking facts”.

“He’s an actor, he’s an old man and he’s a liar,” Izaya says.

Cory, Ziara and Izaya. Nine

While GHFB is not in contention (praise be), TV Star Sean finally tells erryone what Caleb actually said about Molly and everyone, including Cuddle Bear, is PISSED. Ziara then questions Cory about whyTF he didn’t tell her if he knew. Uh oh!

“There’s a lot of things you haven’t told me,” she says. Ooft.

“Listen baby girl,” he says and Ziara is all like: “Don’t you baby girl me!”

Obviously, not one person claps for Cory, except who the actual eff is James

James and other cast members. Binge

Sophie

Finally, Brit Benny has the floor and delivers a black hole to swallow Draco in. He tells him to speak the truth like a “real man” and Sophie just tells him to admit it.

Draco snaps at her and Joshy calls him “rude”.

Once again, he doesn’t admit it, saying it was “misconstrued” although the colour on his face would suggest otherwise….

Justin, Sophie and Joshy. Binge

Meanwhile, Joshy apparently is really funny and may have ticked the wrong box on his application form; however, Sophie is better than both these guys so we’re hoping she doesn’t pick any of them.

“He’s got everyone wrapped around his finger, Abbie included,” Sophie says, concerned that this was just part of Joshy’s plan.

After that chaotic scene, Abbie reveals that all the guys will be moving back into their bunk beds…for one night only.

She then joins the girls at the Villa and they debrief. Molly says that she needs to get to the bottom of Vermin’s lies. This is important. Remember this…

24-Hour Dates

Molly and Vermin

Molly and Vermin go para-gliding and have a cute date before she brings up his ex Brogan again.

Vermin says he has nothing to hide, once again lying straight to her face, saying: “Hopefully you trust me”. LEL.

“Verno being Verno…just smile and wave and you get out of everything,” he tells the cameras. “You just gotta bulls**t your way through it. As long as you can answer a question the way they want [you] to, doesn’t have to be true or not.”

They kiss. Gross.

Draco Justin and Sophie

On their date, Draco feeds grapes to Sophie and we are cursed with a recap of their relationship on the show.

They chat about his blatant attempt at a cover-up and he denies, denies, denies.

Cory and Izaya

Ziara and Cory go horseback riding on the beach for their date. She grills him about all of his bulls**t.

Cory admits that he didn’t want people to know about his age because it’s hard to trust guys, which is freaking weird and also, not a thing.

“I’m truthful…everything is from the heart,” he says, before adding that he did stand up for Molly but “not to her face”. Cool.

Anyway, who cares.

All three ladies have nighttime chats with the three idiots who are clearly not being chosen, and nothing of consequence happens except that the guys say “all the right things” and they all make out. Cool.

The end… until the finale…

FBoy Island Australia 2023 is streaming now on Binge.

Interview: Alex Williams’ reveals “lucky” moment on the set of Warnie and it’s truly wild

Actor Alex Williams has shared a serendipitous moment from the set of Nine’s major drama event Warnie.

The made-for-TV mini-series will document the life and times of Shane Warne – cricket legend and cultural icon – and will premiere over two huge nights on Sunday, June 25 and Monday, June 26 on Nine and 9Now.

When it comes to the cricketer, we know he sported number 23 on his Aussie uniform; but little did Williams expect to see this digit popping up on set in an unexpected way!

“We had a nice moment early on when we were sitting down during the betting saga where he’s playing roulette,” Williams said on Chattr’s The Entertainment Hotline podcast

“I’m at the table and we had a real croupier there… so he spun [the wheel] and I was supposed to lose the money. So I thought, oh, I’ll just chuck all my chips on 23, which was his number. They spun it up, and on the first take, it landed on 23.

“That was just a nice little lucky moment,” he said.

Alex Williams as Shane Warne in Nine’s Warnie. Nine

There was no one quite like Warne a.k.a “Warnie”, a big personality on and off the field. Even after his passing on March 4, 2022, he remains loved by millions across the globe and for Williams, another poignant moment showed him just how revered he was.

During a training session at the MCG with former cricketer Bryce McGain — who was helping him with his bowling technique — the pair went into the training nets at the grounds, bowling for an hour or so.

“That was the net where he used to train, so that was pretty cool,” Williams said before adding: “As I was leaving — there was no one around, a Sunday — I was just walking back towards Collingwood and saw this young couple taking a photo in front of the statue of Shane Warne…So, I just sort of said, ‘Do you want me to take a photo of the two of you?’ So, I took a photo of this young couple… which I felt was pretty cool and just walked off. It was great.”

Williams as Warnie. Nine

How Alex Williams was transformed into Shane Warne

According to the 32-year-old, being transformed in Warne was a “gradual” process.

“It’s sort of a gradual thing, building the character, because obviously, you’re doing a lot of work and research before you even get into pre-production. Once you get the role, you sort of go into full immersion, you’re just watching and reading and listening to everything you can,” he said.

Williams had to focus on the way he sounds and also, his mannerisms which changed over the course of filming since the series spans over 20 years.

“You’re sort of playing a different person by the end of it as you are from the start,” he admitted. “I mean, obviously, it’s the same person, but there’s an evolution there. So you want to make sure that you’re getting that.”

Nine

Of course, one of the more iconic parts of the characterisation is Warnie’s infamous blonde mullet.

“That first little bit when they put the wig on…a lot of it was [my hair] but the younger full-on mullet was not my hair. There’s sort of a back piece that’s added to the back of mine because it was [shot] in five weeks and they can’t cut it when we’re doing the early stuff. It was a great experience and I was really happy with where we got to with the look.”

Alex Williams on the pressures of playing real-life icons

William’s acting portfolio features a who’s who of real-life personalities he’s portrayed onscreen including Julian Assange in UndergroundKirk Pengilly in Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story Of INXSPaul Onions in Catching Milat, and John Harvey in Peter Brock.

“I’m not sure what it is exactly,” Williams said of his pull towards the genre. “When the auditions pop up, I definitely circle them and go, I want to work really hard on this. I find them fascinating because there is an element of working with truth. And then you’re working back from that and trying to figure out what motivated each decision. What got you there? So, you’re sort of using your imagination within the real world of a real person and I find that fascinating.”

While the genre certainly has its drawcards, there is a certain pressure that comes with playing real people with lived experiences.

“It’s different with every kind of different person you play,” he admitted. “Sometimes productions are in contact with people or it’s an adaptation of a book or whatever. I sort of approached Warnie thinking there’s a lot of pressure to get this right.

Nine.

“You know, he’s a national hero. He was one of my heroes growing up. So, the thing about external pressure is an interesting one because you try and just make it about the process right? I just kind of go, Okay, well, this is my process. As long as that goes well, I just don’t think about the external part. But of course, that’s really difficult. I guess the main thing for me was going, no one can put more pressure on me to do this job well than me. No one’s going to care more or make me work harder than me.

“Mostly the pressure that I felt was from myself. I really wanted it to work and I really wanted it to be good.”

Listen to the full interview with Alex Williams on Mediaweek and Chattr’s The Entertainment Hotline Podcast.

Warnie premieres over two nights on Sunday, June 25 and Monday, June 26 on Nine and 9Now.

MasterChef Recap Episode 35: An underwhelming green dish sent a cook home from the competition

It’s Sunday and episode 35 of MasterChef Australia, and you know what that means! It’s an elimination cook!

Round one was a taste test which included a very colourful display made up of flavoured ‘caviar’ pearls. The contestants had to guess the ingredients in the said pearls, with the first four cooks to name an incorrect ingredient heading into round two.

In the second round, Adi, Brent, Declan and Rue had 75 minutes to cook a dish inspired by a colour. They were able to cook any dish they pleased, sweet or savoury, as long as it was delicious!

The least impressive dish will send its maker home.

Ten.

Round 1

The remaining contestants, bar Malissa who had scored herself an Immunity Pin during Thursday’s episode, were surrounded by a science lab look-alike as they stared at colourful Petri dishes containing flavoured pearls with pure flavour profiles.

Palates were put to the test as they tried to decipher the flavour without clues. However, it turned out to be a harder task than they expected.

Adi thought thyme was rosemary, Declan guessed coriander for cucumber, Rue confused jalapeno for wasabi, and Brent mistook turmeric for saffron, leading to the selection of round two cooks.

Round 2 — The Cook and the Judging

Adi, Declan, Rue, and Brent were given a random colour each to inspire their dish. With just 75 minutes on the clock, they had to make sure their colour was the star of the show.

First up to the judging panel was Rue, who presented her Lemon Verbena Parfait, with Apricot Coulis and Compressed Apricots. While it had good flavour, it was too soft and the plum liqueur in her coulis hadn’t cooked off.

Rue’s dish. Ten

Declan was up next with his Khao Moo Daeng, which was inspired by the colour red. During the cook, he was determined to show how much he’d learnt and stained his pork with red food colouring before twice cooking it. He also developed a broth, noodles and a sambal.

The judges praised his efforts and how far he had come in the competition.

Declan’s dish. Ten

Adi was up next; however, was deflated when delivering her Kingfish Sashimi with a Spicy Green Middle Eastern Zhug Sauce and Tapioca Crackers. She was given green, the only colour she didn’t want and spent so long contemplating what to cook that she wasted valuable time. The judges were underwhelmed by her unbalanced zhug sauce.

Adi’s dish. Ten

Finally, Brent presented his Octopus Yellow Curry. During the cook, he was concerned by how he was going, hoping not to use his Immunity Pin; however, when given to the judges, Andy Allen was surprised he even considered it given it was such a success.

Brent’s dish. Ten

The Verdict

Unfortunately, it ain’t easy being green and Adi was eliminated from the competition.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

Dancing with the Stars Recap Episode 2: One celeb almost drops dancing partner during lift

It’s episode two of Dancing With The Stars Australia and the second batch of celebs have taken to the floor.

Actress Virginia Gay topped the leaderboard with 32 points with a theatrical Paso Doble. Blowing the judges away, she earned the highest score of the competition so far.

Charlie Albone’s weeks of preparation for an epic lift in his Jive sadly backfired when he almost dropped his partner Ruby. Despite receiving harsh feedback from the judges, Charlie kept his cool even when given a score of eight points.

Christie Whelan Browne scored a 30 for her first performance, with Judge Sharna Burgess exclaiming it was “everything a Viennese Waltz should be.”

Human Nature’s Phil Burton received a total of 29 for his Viennese Waltz, proving he’s got more than just synchronised boyband moves!

Olympic hurdler Sally Pearson rose to the dance challenge, impressing the judges with her leaping Quickstep and earning a solid 27 points. Looks like all those hurdles helped her jump straight into the ballroom!

Actor Pia Miranda hit the dance floor hard with a cheeky Cha Cha, scoring a cool 23. Judge Sharna gushed over Pia and her partner Declan Taylor saying they had “chemistry and camaraderie”.

KIIS radio host and podcaster Laura Byrne performed an enthusiastic Jive; however, stumbled as she forgot some of her steps. Judge Todd McKenney called the dance “frantic,” while Craig Revel Horwood said she was like a “praying mantis on acid”.

The final leaderboard for the night:

  • Virginia Gay and Ian Waite – 32
  • Christie Whelan Browne and Craig Monley – 30
  • Phil Burton and Ash-Leigh Hunter – 29
  • Sally Pearson and Mitch Kirkby – 27
  • Pia Miranda and Declan Taylor – 23
  • Laura Byrne and Danil Saveliev – 19
  • Charlie Albone and Ruby Gherbaz – 8

Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 continues at 7.00pm on Sundays on 7 and 7Plus.

Everything you need to know about what’s coming next in season 2 of And Just Like That

We’ve known that Carrie Bradshaw and Aiden Shaw are going to spark things up in And Just Like That season two. However, that didn’t make it any less exciting to see the two ex-love birds hitting it off on a dreamy date together in the new trailer.

And, Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aiden’s (played by John Corbett) romantic rendezvous was just one of the many exciting scenes that played out in the latest And Just Like That trailer.

We were also blessed with a scene that showed the usually demure Charlotte York (played by Kristin Davis) tequila drunk and stumbling down her hallway.

Elsewhere in the Sex And The City spin-off trailer, it appeared that Miranda Hobbes (played by Cynthia Nixon) had hit a speed bump with her partner Che Diaz (played by Sara Ramirez).

“I don’t know who you are. Is there something you’re not telling me?” Miranda said when she sternly confronts her lover.

On a happier note, season one newcomers Lisa Wexley (played by Nicole Ari Parker), Seema Patel (played by Sarita Choudhury), and Dr Nya Wallace (played by Karen Pittman) seemed to be living their best lives in NYC.

Lisa enjoyed some sexy time with her hubby, Seema wined and dined her way around the city, and Dr Nya happily reflected on her recent one-night stands with Miranda.

There’s also a blind-and-you’ll-miss-it scene with Miranda’s ex-husband, and Sex And The City fav, Steve Brady (played by David Eigenberg), who was largely rumoured not to return to AJLT season two after he was spotted missing from a promo photo.

When does And Just Like That season two air?

The hotly-anticipated season two of AJLT will drop on June 22 on Binge.

Will Samantha Jones return for season two?

We can ecstatically confirm that yes, Kim Cattrall will be back as Samantha Jones in the upcoming season of And Just Like That.

MasterChef Recap Episode 34: It was a storm in a teacup as a contestant fought for the Immunity Pin

It’s episode 34 of MasterChef Australia 2023 and it’s Immunity Challenge time! Four contestants put their culinary skills to the test to win immunity from elimination and a shiny pin.

In round one, Malissa, Declan, Theo and Brent were given 60 minutes to whip up a dessert with a coffee element. The best dish would secure immunity, and that person would then get a ticket to round two.

In the second round, pastry chef superstar Kay-Lene Tan stepped in as the chef to beat. The triumphant contestant from round one had to battle it out with Kay-Lene with a tea-inspired dish. If the home cook was crowned best cook of the day, they’d secure an Immunity Pin.

The Cook – round one

Malissa was super excited about the coffee challenge and decided to make a Chocolate Parfait with Burnt Orange Coffee Syrup and Chocolate Crumble.

Meanwhile, Declan was a little overwhelmed by the task of making a coffee-flavoured dessert. “I don’t even put sugar in my coffee!” he exclaimed.

Masterchef episode 34
MasterChef. Ten.

He decided to make a Coffee Creme Caramel Tempered Chocolate and a Coconut Crumb with some Coconut Flakes.

Brent chose to make a Chocolate Ice Cream with Maserated Cherries and Coffee Caramel Syrup.

While he decided on his dish, electrician Theo reminisced about drinking coffee in Paris with a Biscoff, which is a relatively surprising mental image. Anyway, he opted for a Parfait with Coffee Caramel.

Judging round one

Declan was the first to be judged, and he said he was “quite proud” of his Coffee Creme Caramel, Coconut Crumb, and Coffee Icecream dish. The judges agreed, and Melissa Leong called it a “really fantastic dish”.

Masterchef episode 34
MasterChef. Ten.

Next, Brent presented his dessert which Jock Zonfrillo called a “chocolate puddle” but was meant to be Chocolate Ice Cream with Coffee Caramel Syrup and Cherries. It wasn’t a hit, however, Andy Allen said the “flavours were nice”.

Masterchef episode 34
MasterChef. Ten.

Theo’s Coffee Parfait with Biscuit Crumb and Coffee Caramel served on a miniature plate looked adorably sweet, and apparently, it tasted that way too.

“I don’t feel as though you’ve used coffee to the best of its ability here to dial down that sweetness and the sugariness,” Jock told him.

Masterchef episode 34
MasterChef. Ten.

At this point, it looked like Malissa was the only one with a chance to knock Declan out of the running to head to Beat The Chef for a second time.

Like Theo, she made a Coffee Parfait but she added a Biscuit Crumb, Burnt Orange and a Coffee Syrup. Mel said that her dish was “supercharged” and Andy confirmed that she’d be heading to the next round to cook against Kay-Lene.

The Challenge – round two

The judges introduced Kay-Lene, who is currently working as the Executive Pastry Chef at Melbourne’s Ritz Carlton.

The two women are informed that will need to make a sweet or savoury dish with tea as their main ingredient. This revelation was something that Malissa wasn’t too excited about.

“I’ve never cooked with tea before,” she said. “There are so many different teas here. Some that I’ve never seen before, some that I’ve never tasted.”

She decided to make a Smoked Tea Chicken with a Vegetable San Choy Bow.

MasterChef. Ten.

Fortunately for Malissa, Kay-Lene was just as disappointed by the key ingredient of tea as Malissa.

MasterChef. Ten.

After long deliberation, Kay-Lene chose to use white tea and decided to make a Tea Cake with Pears in the Tea Syrup and Tea Icecream.

The judging

The judges took their places at their table and were presented with Malissa’s dish of Jasmine Tea Smoked Chicken.

MasterChef. Ten.

Jock said that the “tea flavour is infused all the way through the chicken”, and Andy said it was “really smart using tea like that.”

All the judges agreed that Malissa’s dish was cooked perfectly with Andy calling it “epic”.

Unsurprisingly, Kay-Lene’s Fruit and Tea dish looked like a work of art.

MasterChef. Ten.

However, the judges weren’t impressed with the dish. Andy said that the cake was “wet” because the ice cream pearls melted on it.

The Verdict

Kay-Lene

  • Melissa 7/10
  • Andy 6/10
  • Jock 6/10

Malissa

  • Jock 8/10
  • Malissa 8/10
  • Jock 8/10

With high scores all around, Malissa was the winner and earnt an immunity pin.

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

Meet the next MasterChef Australia 2023 guest judge, pastry superstar Kay-Lene Tan

The contestants on Masterchef may be amateur cooks, but they’re held to a professional standard by the accomplished judges, as well as world-famous guest judges.

This time around, Brent, Declan, Malissa and Theo will be tasked with cooking a sweet dish that features coffee. Whoever wins, will progress into round two to go head-to-head with guest judge and acclaimed pastry chef Kay-Lene Tan. If the home cook reigns triumphant, they will win an Immunity Pin.

Who is Kay-Lene Tan?

Kay-Lene has worked in the industry for over a decade and is currently the Executive Pastry Chef at The Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne.

“As executive pastry chef, I’m responsible for all the sweet and bakery items available in the hotel, which includes all the desserts in Atria, the Lounge, room service, and all events and functions within the hotel.” she recently told Broadsheet.

Kay Lene made waves as the Pacific region’s San Pellegrino Young Chef of the Year 1st runner-up in 2015. She also claimed the Rising Star Award from FoodService Magazine at their Women in Food Service awards in 2017.

The pastry chef will also be competing in the upcoming season of Dessert Masters.

The Dessert Masters cast members together

How did Kay-Lene get her start as a chef?

Kay-Lene didn’t start in the industry until she was 25. Prior to becoming a pastry chef, she was working as a documentary maker.

“I went through a ‘quarter life crisis’ at the age of 25, and began questioning what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life,” she told ChefWorks.

“The idea of becoming a chef was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me. I asked myself, ‘What better job could there be than being able to work around food every single day?’ So I did some research, enrolled myself in At Sunrice Global Chef Academy, and took up a Diploma in Pastry & Bakery Arts. I guess you could say that the rest is history; it is a leap of faith that I have never regretted taking.”

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

The new reality show Rush may seem like The Amazing Race but there are three huge twists

For years now, The Amazing Race has had a monopoly on fans who are obsessed with travel and reality TV shows. However, Channel 9’s brand spanking new reality show Rush is set to shake that all up.

The “big new global adventure” program will follow teams of Aussies around the world as they complete a series of challenges in the hope of winning the game plus $100,000 in prize money. But, while that sounds a hell of a lot like the concept of The Amazing Race, there are three big twists that elevate the show’s excitement.

Twist number one

Like The Amazing Race, there will be teams competing against one another to become victorious. However, unlike the popular travel reality show, these teams are made up of four strangers, rather than two.

The ages of the contestants range from 21 to 57, and the competitor’s careers are made up of an interesting mix, including a greatness coach (make of that what you will), a CEO, and a Psychiatric Nurse.

The contestants and host. Nine.

Twist number two

The contestants have no clue where they’re going on each leg of the race and don’t even have their senses to help them. Each team will arrive at their new drop point deprived of sight and sound, as they’ll be fitted with noise-cancelling headphones and blackout goggles.

Once these are removed, their first mission is to find the host and Golden God David Genat, who will hand them mission instructions. This means that they’ll have absolutely no chance to prep ahead of time.

A contestant wearing blackout goggles. Nine.

Twist number three

The Aussies competing on Rush won’t simply be competing against each other in new and exciting countries, they’ll be dropped into the middle of some of the World’s most pulsating cultural festivals.

Amongst some of their competing grounds will be Carnival in Rio, St Patrick’s Day in Dublin, the colourful Holi festival in India and the throbbing techno moshpit of Tomorrowland in France.

Rush premieres on July 2 at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MasterChef Recap Episode 33: All eyes were on Theo during a Greek-inspired Service Challenge

It’s episode 33 of MasterChef Australia 2023 and a service challenge has given four contestants a chance at Immunity.

During the June 21 episode, the Judges — Jock Zonfrillo, Andy Allen and Melissa Leong — joined the contestants at the Temple of Boom, an evocative reimaging of the ancient Greek Acropolis, at the National Gallery of Victoria. The flamboyant restaurant is a place for people to experience art, music, performances and now, food cooked by our MasterChef contestants.

Temple of Boom. Ten

Mentored by Shannon Bennett, In two teams of four, the home cooks were tasked with serving a main and dessert course to 30 dinners, with both inspired by Greek cuisine.

The Teams

The Red Team consisted of Theo, Brent, Declan and Malissa while the Navy Team had Adi, Cath, Rhiannon and Rue.

The Cook

Theo, who has a Greek background, took the lead in the Red Team, who decided on Braised Lamb Shoulder with Skordalia Sauce and a dessert of Galaktoboureko, a filo pastry with semolina custard, crushed walnuts and pistachios.

The Navy Team, led by Adi, decided on Seafood Stew with scallops, prawns, white fish and squid and a dessert of Greek Yoghurt Mousse with Roasted Apricots and Grapes.

“I’ll be gutted if the Navy team win,” Theo said, resting the expectations of the Aussie Greek community on his shoulders.

Theo. Ten

Main Judging

The Red Team delivered their main course to the Judges first, after a “Temple of Doom” setback with Declan’s potatoes.

The Lamb Shoulder with Skordalia, Oregano and Parsley Oil was heralded a success with Judge Mel saying they “smashed it”.

Jock said the “meat itself was fall-apart” and “delicious” and all the components together made him want more. Andy loved the Skordalia and was “happy”.

Red Team’s main dish. Ten

The Navy Team’s dish hit a challenge once service began after they failed to start cooking their seafood. However, once delivered to the Judges, Mel was blown away by the presentation.

All the judges loved how well the seafood was cooked, calling it “refined”.

Navy Team’s main dish. Ten

Dessert Judging

After trying to torch the Filo, which turned bitter, the Red team decided to drizzle it with honey and lemon before serving to Jock, Andy and Mel.

Their dessert of Crème Brûlée Galaktoboureko with Fig and Honey Syrup was praised for Theo’s impressive Filo with all the judges concurring they’d “nailed” it.

Red Team’s dessert. Ten

Over on the Navy Team, Rue struggled with the Greek Yoghurt Mousse, while the Red Team had already finished serving.

When the Greek Yoghurt Mousse with Roasted Grapes, Honey Syrup and Spiced Walnuts was presented to the Judges, Mel said it wasn’t cohesive. Jock understood the intention but it was a “flavour battle”.

Navy Team’s dessert. Ten

The Verdict

The Red Team of Theo, Brent, Declan and Malissa earnt a place in Thursday’s Immunity Challenge and naturally, Theo was thrilled! OPA!

MasterChef Australia airs Sunday – Thursday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10Play.

FBoy Island contestant Caleb doubles down on his positively vulgar remark about Molly

Fboy Island super-villain Caleb Duncan has doubled down on a vulgar comment he made about one of the show’s leads Molly O’Halloran.

In the premiere episode of the reality show, the personal trainer suggested that Molly’s ex cheated on her because her genital regions were subpar. The comment caused an uproar from the Australian public, with many viewers calling for Caleb to be booted off the show because of it.

Now, Caleb has spoken out for the first time since the offensive remark was made and has gone into extensively (and, quite frankly, gross) detail about what he stands by what he said.

“I felt like I was the most natural person when it came to just being me on the show,” he told news.com.au. “You know, I got a big personality. Everybody’s like, ‘Get him off [the show]’ at the beginning.”

Caleb. Instagram.

“I was kind of shocked about the reactions of other contestants because these guys act like this doesn’t happen, but this is a true issue,” Caleb said about his disgusting comment.

“I don’t think I was being terrible. With that particular guy [Molly’s ex], having to get an escort, she was with him just a couple of hours before. I think I was being real honest because I’ve been with women and their vagina is just not that good. Be real. You want me to be a real guy or you want me to tell the women what they want to hear?”

And, (unfortunately) he didn’t stop there, either.

“I’ve had some instances where if you have a small penis, the girl’s gonna laugh at you. But if the girl has a vagina and it’s not that good, it is not getting wet, it’s not moist? It is a double standard,” he said. “So I’m just trying to be authentic, but also I knew that that was gonna ruffle some feathers because nobody’s ever said that on Australian TV.”

“Honestly, I was the most honest person on that show more than anybody else. I believe a hundred per cent.”

Caleb and Benny. Instagram.

What did Caleb originally say about Molly?

In episode one, Molly bravely opened up to the male contestants and explained that she had an emotional wall up because she’d caught her ex-fiance cheating on her with an escort.

Although Caleb comforted her at the time, he later told one of the other men that it was Molly’s fault her ex cheated.

“That the other dude she was dating was bending over an escort, like four hours from fucking her she must ain’t got no good pu**y,” Caleb told Cory Brown.

He said this despite, having only just met Molly, and having zilch, zero, zip-alone time with her.

Is Caleb still on FBoy Island?

Thankfully, no! While Molly picked up that Caleb was a huge jerk early on in the piece, one of the other contestants Ziara Rae had a soft spot for the personal trainer. Fortunately, she dumped him before the final episodes, and was sent out of the villa at the final three.

Who is replacing Dr Chris Brown on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here?

Ever since it was announced that host Dr Chris Brown was leaving I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here it hasn’t been clear who will be joining Julia Morris on the hit show.

There’s been plenty of whispers about who will be taking the “good Doctor’s” spot, but both Network Ten and co-host Morris have stayed relatively tight-lipped about the position.

Now, Morris has finally revealed that she’s begun testing with a number of potentials and shared what she’s hoping to find in her next co-host.

Julia Morris. Instagram.

So, who’s taking Dr Chris Brown’s place on I’m A Celebrity?

While Brown’s replacement hasn’t been announced yet, Morris told Yahoo Lifestyle that the hunt had begun and added that the show would be going a “completely different way”.

“We start chemistry testing pretty soon with a number of different people – not even a number of different people, I think there’s kind of a party of six. And from there we’ll just work out where that best chemistry is and start a new adventure.”

Morris added that she has one person who’s her “dream pick”, but wouldn’t reveal who that was.

“Whoever comes in is going to want to build that together. So there’s plenty of space for that person, we’re just looking forward to finding out who that’s going to be,” she said.

“Whoever that person is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work.”

Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris. Facebook.

Why did Dr Chris Brown leave I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here?

After co-hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Australia alongside Julia Morris since its inception in 2015, Brown announced that he was leaving Network 10 in February 2023.

The celebrity vet has signed a two-year deal with Network 7 to work on projects that are yet to be revealed.
